The 2007 yamaha yzf-r1 has significant lag or aflat-spot" if you will at approximately 48 mph in second gear.any attempt to roll on the throttle at that point will result in the bike nearly stalling and or cutting out before slowly accelerating.this creates a dangerous situation for any owners of the motorcycle.if you ever had to accelerate out of a problem at that speed, you might as well just brace for impact.also, 45 mph is a very common speed limit in our local area, and it was not a pleasant feeling when you roll on the throttle and nothing happens.keep in mind, my 10 failures is just the beginning.it is 10 and counting.
After steadying the throttle in second gear, at 5500 rpm, 48 mph, and then applying throttle, the motorcycle, does not accelerate properly, and lags severely. The lag is so severe that a rider runs the risk of being hit from the rear, especially in a traffic situation, when merging for example. Through generalized research, i have determined that the problem can be recreated on any us version 2007 yamaha r1 motorcycle. The problem cannot be recreated on a dynometer. Changing the gearing, exhaust, pciii, and or ignition module does not correct this problem.
My 2007 yamaha r1 1.the bike cuts off almost every time i come to a stop. It does not matter whether the bike is in neutral or in gear with the clutch pulled in.it died approximately. 15-20 times on my ride.2.if i blip/rev the bike in neutral or while in gear with the clutch pulled in, the bike shuts of as well.3.i was merging on the freeway in second gear and when i went to speed up, the bike hesitated for about 3-4 seconds and then very slowly picked up.i was almost hit by the car behind me.i realized that if i'm at 5500 rpm's in second gear for a few seconds and then open the throttle, it causes this lag every single time.this is definitely not safe!i was almost rear ended by a car.4.the bike also reached 250 degrees several times under cruising conditions.i can't even trust this bike to stay running either 'cause it seems it dies every time i come to a stop.5.the bike also sometimes takes quite a few tries to start it.i have to hold down the starter for about 3-5 seconds sometimes.
The 2007 yamaha yzf-r1 has two issues that have come to my attention.first, there is a lag in the 2nd gear mapping that significantly decreases horsepower at 5500 rpm when the throttle is opened.second, there have been numerous instances of the rear sets (the hardware where your feet rest) cracking.both if these items are safety issues that could lead to fatal accidents.
I almost dropped the bike with my son on the bike with me in a intersection and was almost struck by another vehicle due to the loaf in throttle in first gear. The bike stumbles and misfires from idle up till around 2000 rpms. This has happened several times. I have notified yamaha directly with no help. They started changing out the computers in the bikes then they stopped. I just bought the bike with the extended warranty. This is a very dangerous problem especially having my child on the bike when this took place. We were lucky that we barely were missed by a car due to the bike stumbling and shift off in the intersection as i was making a left hand turn. It took everything in me to prevent my son from being struck by the oncoming vehicle. This is a major problem with the 07 and 08 models. There are few complaints probably due to the other owners died on this bike before being able to file a complaint. We were on a city street at a intersection. As i went in motion the bike stalled in the middle of the intersection and almost hit us both killed. They need to recall these bike and permanently fix them.
2007 and 2008 yamaha r1 motorcycles have faulty ecu which causes bike to stall when coasting or stopping and lag when accelerating at certain rpm ranges.this creates a dangerous situation for both the rider and other motor vehicles in the vicinity.yamaha motor corporation has been made aware of this problem and initially exchanged faulty ecu's at no charge but quickly stopped doing this.i have been in contact with the manufacture and with the local dealerships, both when i was under warranty and after it had expired, and have not been able to resolve this issue.
Run the bike in second gear with the rpms at 5500 which is around 48 mph. Hold your bike steady at this rpm for a moment and then open the throttle pretty full. You will notice that the bike takes between 3-4 seconds before it will respondalso the bike is stalling out in a low gear also starting issues please note i know what i am talking about (reason) i had a 2006 yzf r1 that was stolen so i know what to expect from the motorcycle
Usually in second gear at 5500 rpm bike delays or stalls very bad for about three or four seconds.
I have a 2007 yamaha r1, and while riding in 2nd gear at 55mph i had a loss of power when i was attempting to merge on the highway. Yamaha is aware of this problem and refuses to deal with it.
2007 yamaha yzf r1.while in second gear and at 5500 rpms the motorcycle does not perform as expected when throttle is applied.the motorcycle has a lag in acceleration that upsets or causes an unsafe shift in unpredictable weight while in a turn.this is of grave concern for my safety as this unpredictable characteristic has place me in close call accidents several times.

My new 2007 yamaha yzf r1 has a severe "lag" when riding at 5500 rpm's in 2nd gear.every time i get on the road to ride i experience this problem.i am very disappointed at yamaha's non responsive attitude with this issue.i want the problem fixed.i have contacted my dealer about the issue and for some reason i am just brushed off and they just respond with, "we will get back to you" .
2007 yamaha yzf-r1 super sportmotorcycle.there is a constant failure mode in the engine mapping that causes slow engine acceleration in the following conditions:2nd gear, 5500 rpms.this condition can become a significant safety issue when maneuvering in heavy traffic, or expecting engine power to help stand themotorcycle up after a tight turn.after contacting yamaha, i was told that the engineers has evaluated the condition as a characteristic of the motorcycle and not a safety issue.yamaha has no plans to correct this issue.
The motorcycle has stalled on several occasions, when slowing down with the clutch engaged.
I purchased my motorcycle brand new and noticed one day while trying to accelerate in second gear after slowing that the bike did not respond. The bike acted as if in slow motion and then all of a sudden the power returned to it. It will continue to do it to this day and i do not know why. I have since learned it is a widespread problem. I believe it is a very real safety issue due to the fact that it has happened once when i was trying to get out of the way of a vehicle that was moving into my lane. Luckily they noticed me at the last minute but i can't expect that to always be the case.
I recently purchase a 2007 yamaha yzf r-1. Understandings it is the first year yahmaha uses this technology on the r1s was a concern. But i bought it anyway. My fears came true when merging onto freeway. The bike has a dangerous throttle lag in 2nd gear at 5500rpms (45mph). This is an unsafe situation on any vehicle but esp a 2 wheel motorcycle. Apparently there is no fix for the problem and yamaha is not planning a recall despite knowing of the hazardous position it has placed its customers in.
The contact owns a 2007 yamaha yzfr1 motorcycle. The contact stated when driving there was an abnormal ticking coming from the vehicle. The manufacturer advised that the noise was normal. The contact stated the noise progressed and the vehicle would sporadically backfire with limited power and pressure. The contact believed the failure to be caused by the valve stem which was placed incorrectly and could potentially break. The vehicle was not repaired and the contact was no longer driving the vehicle. The failure and current mileage was approximately 7,000.
While taking my 2007 yamaha r1in second gearto 5500 rpms. Once i open the throttle, the bike does not respond for a second or two. But if i take the rpms to 5000 or 6000 the response is immediate. This has happened to me since the day i rode the bike off of the dealers lot. I have not been able to yet fix the problem.
Has extreme throttle lag in second gear at around 5500 rpm. Problem isn't present everytime, but can be duplicated by putting the bike into second gear and staying at 5500 rpm for 1 to 2 seconds and then applying generous throttle. A lag usually around 3 seconds after power application can be felt. It has caused me to almost be involved in 2 accidents due to this issue. At that rpm and gear setting the bike is unsafe due to the lack of throttle response and can cause an extremely unsafe situation on the public roads for not only the motorcyclist but for other motorists as well.

This motorcycle consistently refuses to accelerate when in second gear at approximately 550rpm or 49 mph. There is a substantial delay in response and a very slow increase in speed until nearly 70 mph is reached when it starts to accelerate as normal. There are no fault codes or any other abnormal indications, and this can be recreated at any time. This poses a significant hazard for collision avoidance as well as merging with existing traffic.
- the contact owns a 2007 yamaha motorcycle yzf-r1. When the motorcycle is in 2nd gear and at 5500 rpms, the motorcycle hesitates for approximately 3-4 seconds when he tried to accelerate. The contact had not taken the motorycle to be diagnosed.the failure mileage was 1 mile, and the current mileage was 743 miles.
(1) throttle lag on 2007 yamaha r1, try to accelerate in 2nd gear at 5500 rpm's and the bike doesn't move, then all of the sudden a violent jerk and the bike is now violently acceleration. (2) i was in traffic trying to pass a vehicle and almost got run over due to the lag.there is no fixed report, but the european bikes don't have this so a new ecu would fix it. Or a reflash of the ecu. (3) the rearset (aka footpeg brackets) are breaking off when weight is applied. Standing up on the bike or just putting pressure on them will cause them to snap.(4) friend who has the same bike broke his foot when the reset broke.(5) had to buy aftermarket rear sets to avoid this problem. Spent $ 500, on a product i should not have to buy..yamaha needs to reimburse me or send me new ones.
2007 yamaha r1 motorcycle has a problem! the engine cuts out at around 5500 rpm.if your at this rpm and open the throttle it will not respond at all for a few seconds, then it will take off.i found this to be very dangerous. Italmost coused an accident.
I recently purchased the 2007 r-1 motorcycle and have been having continuous problems with the throttle lag. 2nd gear at 5500 mph themotorcyclehad no power. Ifound this to be very dangerous when passing vehicles and accelerating through turns. I feltthat yamahawas not doing their part to fix the problem. $12,000 later and unhappy. Please help.
2007 yamaha yzf-r1. Manufacturer defect that causes the intake valve in the number 4 cylinder to rub on the guide and causes the valve to break off into the cylinder. I was lucky enough to catch it early and took it to my repair guy. He disassembled the head and found the bad valve. Sent it out to be machined and the machinist was unable to get a valve guide to press in due to the bad machining from the factory. He then had to machine it out and replace with a different guide. I called yamaha when this was happening and they told me that no one else had reported a problem like this. I later learned that they do know about it and it is a recurring problem found in many of the 2007 r1's primarily those stamped 02/07 on the vin. I called yamaha back and they said there was nothing that they would do since the work was already done and it was not under warranty. More information can be found on the r1 forum under the mechanical help thread. Titled recall on 07/08 should they? can we push this? i first noticed that the bike was losing a little power and then it began to get worse.
Purchased 2007 yamaha yzfr1 last september. The bike exhibited a lag in the throttle around 5,000 rpm, and the engine will also stall at random, usually at the worst time. This bike has stalled at least 20 times at intersections, and stalled another 6 times just yesterday! the throttle lag issue has been fixed by a dealer. The stall has not been fixed. The stall problem scares me. It may lead to my death!!! yamaha needs to fix this now!
I have a 2007 yamaha r1.just got it 2 week ago.and i was riding about 50mph and try to pass a car and hit the gas and nothing happen,no responce almoust got hit by a car on the pass becous there was no responce on the gas.so i try the same speed agen with nobody around and it happen more time.i call the dealership where i got the bike from and they dont know anything about it so they say.the bike has 91mils its bramd mew but i pay $12,000 and thats what i get thats not right and almoust got kill too.aomwbody has to do something before theres somebody get heart.
The 2007 yamaha yzfr1had intermittent and significant loss of power and stalledwhile riding.thiswas a well known problem that yamahawasavoiding to recall.it wasexceedingly dangerous.
The eletronic throttle (fly by wire) system has a dangerous lag @5500 rpm in 2nd gear. If you drive in 2nd gear at 5500 rpm for a couple of seconds and then try to accelerate, the motor doesn't respond as it should. It very slowly accelerates. This is reproducible every time.
I know in fact i'm not the first to make a complaint regarding an issue that i have on my 2007 yamaha yzf r1 motorcycle. The following is the best description i can give for a throttle lag problem in the 2nd gear at approximately 5000-5500 rpm. The motorcycle will not respond to the throttle opening and hesitates for approx. 2 seconds before it will accelerate. I for one think this is very dangerous especially during interstate riding when the need to accelerate rapidly exists. At this point yamaha hasn't responded to the problem and i am a member of r1 forum.com and the majority of owners of the 2007 model has experienced. I am hoping that nhtsa can help with this problem that yamaha refuses to correct and hopefully get a recall issued. Any help with this matter would truly be appreciated.
I purchased a 2007 yamaha yzf-r1 about 3 weeks ago.when riding this motorcycle in 2nd gear at 5500 rpm (approximately 45 mph), there is absolutely no throttle response for 2 to 3 seconds - almost as if it is running out of gas.my dealer contacted yamaha and while describing the defect was interrupted by the yamaha representative... "let me guess, 2nd gear at 5500 rpm? the answer is tmdt... That model does that. That's the way the computer is programmed and there is no fix. The bike should be ridden the way it was meant to be ridden to avoid this."in other words, they are suggesting the bike should be ridden like a race bike.this would be very dangerous on public roads with other traffic.
The motorcycle at apprx 5500 rpms (45-50mph) in second gear has an extreme lag issue. You can turn the throttle but the bike will not respond. This is a serious issue due to taking away control of the vehicle making it impossible to maneuver through traffic or matching speeds of traffic. This problem almost caused me to lose control as well in a corner when becoming unresponsive to the throttle.

Why does my 2007 r1 not respond in second gear at certain rpms.
Loss of power when trying to merge into traffic in second gear at 5500 rpm's.

When vehicle is in second gear at 5500 rpms it has a temporary loss of power. It is a danger when trying to merge into traffic. Only north american bike have this problem as far as i know.
My 2007 yamaha r1 motorcycle has throttle response lag in 2nd gear at about 50 mph. I experienced the lag will riding and noticed that when i was giving the engine throttle i received no response for about 4 seconds. When i did finally receive throttle response, i was applying too much throttle (because i was initially not getting any response) and the motorcycle accelerated so quickly that it almost kicked me off (the motorcycle popped a wheelie). After the experience, i did not think too much of it until i read about the problem on the internet. After reading about it, i went out riding and was able to reproduce the throttle lag on command. The throttle lag response takes place in second gear, 50 mph, and 5500 rpms. The issue about the problem is that when the throttle finally kicks in the user has the throttle fully open in an attempt to counter act it and the motorcycle responds violently. The rider could be kicked off the motorcycle if they are not prepared.
I just bout a ne 2007 yamaha r1 a few weeks ago. This was one of the worst purchases i made do to the bad lag that this bike has.. From what i mine is not the only one doing it. Just not sure what to do. I alredy told the dealership about it but they said that they would call the manufacture.r.
I have recently purchased the 2007 yamaha yzfr1 and have some concerns regarding the safety of this vehicle. First off i would like to report the issue of a flat spot in acceleration. When the vehicle is at approximately 5500 rpm and throttle is applied there is a delay in acceleration lasting between 3-5 seconds. This delay could cause injury or possible death due to accidents occurring when acceleration in this range is necessary. The second issue is with the rear set (foot pegs). Although this has not occurred on my vehicle, there have been cases of the set cracking and breaking. If this were to happen while the vehicle was in motion it can cause injury or possible death.
2007 yamaha r1, riding down the local highway with some friends and the right rear set cracked and as it broke free from the bike, my foot hit the ground doing about 65 mph , causing me to shatter 1 toe with an open fracture, break another in half and fracture the tip of that toe. The rearset was cracked at the upper most leg" right where it connects to the motorcycles frame. Also as a result from this broken rearset, i have scratches on my swingarm and a piece of plastic is broken on the exhaust cover from where the rearset dropped and since everything is connected it just broke the plastic and left scratches in the swingarm.local yamaha dealership has agreed to replace the right rearset under warrenty and has contacted yamaha about the issue. The dealership also has the old rearset that is broken, and i also have multiple pictures of the broken rearset, scratches in my swingarm, broken plastic cover, x-rays, and other photos of the accident.no police report was filed however the police, ambulance, fire dept was on scene and the police officer has left his number and badge number incase a report needs to be filed.

2007 yamaha r1,throttle laggedat around 5500 rpms. No response for a few seconds.can cause serious problems when need to speed up or take off before being ran over a suv or in an intersection or overtaking another vehicle. Foot peg bracket broken. Was parking the bike when i put some pressure on the foot peg, it broke and myself and the bike went down. No injuries, just damages which i want to be reimbursed by yamaha.... But it could be fatal in case of riding in traffic. I really thought somehow i screwed up, and reason why i went down, until i found out that many more peoplewere having the same problem. Now i have no doubt that my bike and i went down because of a structural problem with the material used in the foot peg. I have pictures available....plus ordered a new foot peg, and it ison back order.! maybe yamaha took them all off the market , and is replacingthem with new ones? or maybeitmeant manypeoplewerehaving to buy new ones. When is this going to be taken seriouslyand actions taken?
The bike was bumped while at a complete stop and fell over. The bracket for the right-siderearset bracket broke at the bolts.
I have purchased a 2007 yamaha yzf r1 and would like to make a complaint about the throttle lag in 2nd gear at 5500 rpm.i was entering the freeway (i-5) and was about to merge into traffic when i was attempting to accelerate to merge in traffic the throttle basically stalled at speed and slowly began to pick up speed. It has also been an issue while changing lanes on the freeway and turning corners on off ramps. The engine does not correspond with the throttle while attempting to accelerate and has caused me to run off the road while in a corners twice and nearly get hit by other vehicles on the freeway. When the engine finally spools up and the lag is gone the bike takes off suddenly and you have to hold on. I have called yamaha and taken my bike to two different dealerships. The yamaha customer service rep told me to replace the counter shaft sprocket and this would be a fix for the problem. I did this and the problem is not gone and now i have a speedometer that is incorrect. Yamahas response was sorry for telling you so fast to replace a part when we didnt know the fix. There is nothing that we can do for you now at this time. I hope that there is something taked care of soon before one of the 07 r1 riders is injured or even worse killed.
Was riding my 2007 yamaha r1 and the foot peg snapped off of the motorcycle. This has happened to several other rides and 1 evenr broke his foot because of it.
The motorcycle has stalled on several occasions, when slowing down with the clutch engaged.
While riding in normal traffic conditions in second gear at 5500 rpm s at 48 mphfor a duration of three or more seconds as if cruising at speed, application of the throttle provided lagging results.throttle was applied, and the motorcycle took a up to two seconds to react.this condition is repeatable, and there is instant throttle response at 5000 rpms and 6000 rpmsin the same configuration.this could be an issue if a rider is forced to watch gauges as opposed to traffic to stay out of an rpm range as opposed to a posted speed.further this could cause an issue where instant throttle application could be the only escape to an emergency situation (i.e. Cross traffic disobeying a traffic light or a vehicle approaching from behind too quickly).this issue has been reported to the dealer where the vehicle was purchased from as well as yamaha customer service.other riders have reported the same issue (repeatable on all bikes with a us engine control unit to date), and currently, the manufacturer apparently denies that it is an issue.
Just purchased 2007 yamaha r1 motorcycle which now has 200 miles on it. The motorcyclewill not accelerate when rpms are held at 5500 in second gear. Noticed the problem when trying to accelerate past a car before an intersection.the motorcycle would not accelerate , which led to a potentially dangerous, possibly fatal scenario.
While driving in rush hour traffic i observed a car behind me was approaching fast. I rolled on the throttle to accelerate , and nothing happened for about three seconds. Then bike began to slowly accelerate andi was almost rear ended because of this defect. Well, i was almost rear ended because the driver behind me was not paying attention. But the bike's defect could have killed me. Yamaha continuedto ignore this defect by saying that they have not heard of this before. This was a lie, and couldbe proven. Yamaha knewof this defect and choseto completely ignore it. Not enough deaths yet?
Severe throttle lag in 2nd gear at 5500 rpm which equates to about 48 mph.
My 2007 yamaha yzf r1 does not accelerate correctly if you are in 2nd gear and are running the engine near 5000 rpm.when you accelerate, there is a 3-4 second lag before the bike begins to respond.this is very dangerous if you need that quick motion to get out of a traffic/problem situation.
I was riding on the freeway onroute 1. I tried to pass a car in trafficin 2nd gear at 5500 rpm no throttle response for approximately 4 seconds. This bike did not acceleratefrom 5500 rpms in 2nd gear properly. Having no throttle response in 2nd gear at 5500 could have cost me my life. Yamaha saidthere was nothing wrong with the bike.please help before someone got hurt .
If i twist the throttle at around 5500 rpm (more or less) there seems to be a lack of power or throttle lag. It takes several seconds before the bike accelerates like it was designed to. This only happens in 2nd gear @ 5500 rpm.
2007 yamaha yzf-r1, stalling issue.was stopped at a red light with traffic in front and behind me.the light turned green, traffic started to move.i started to move forward.traffic slowed down so i closed the throttle and pulled in the clutch , and the motorcycle died.thishappened three times under the exact same circumstances.
The motorcycle will lag and not accelerate when the rpm is held at 5500 rpm in second gear.this is not a characteristic of the motorcycle.yamaha needs to be aware of this issue and correct it.this a dangerous issue that could result in serious injury or death to the rider.
There is a lag in second gear which keeps the bike from accelerating. Sometimes it will return, which if unexspected, can cause injury. The lag is soo delayed it takes anywhere from 2-5 seconds before it responds to the rider input. This issue is duplicable @5500 in second gear, or simply 48-49mph. Dealers were saying it was not an issue. Replacement on several parts yield, no change to the above issue. Also, rt. Side foot braket broken in two
I am experiencing throttle lag on my 2007 yamaha yzf r-1 motorcycle. When i am in 2nd gear and at 48 mph when i twist the throttle there is a delay in power delivery, and then all of a sudden it takes off. It only happens in that situation. It works fine in any other.
The contact owns a 2007 yamaha yzfr1.while in second gear at 5500 rpmsand when openingthe throttle the motorcycle didnot move. The accelerator gaveno response for about four seconds. The manufacturer stated that since therewasno recall therewasnothing they coulddo to assist him.the current and failure mileage were 20.

Although this has not occurred on my vehicle, there have been cases of the set cracking and breaking. If this were to happen while the vehicle was in motion it can cause injury or possible death.
The contact owns a 2007 yamaha yzfr1 motorcycle.while traveling at 55 mph in second gear the vehicle didnot accelerate for 2 to 3 seconds when the driver increased thespeed.the failure mileage was 5.the contact stated that the failure may be related to the computer.this wasa safety concern for the driver when merging.no warning lights illuminated.the failure only occurredin second gear.the manufacturer stated the vehiclewasoperating normally. Payed $13,000 for a motorcycle that does not respond appropriately...2nd gear at 5500 rpm. Motorcycle will not accelerate until a good time after i've accelerated. Continues to happen and will not be eliminated until ecu is corrected by yamaha! could cost someone their life or limb if injured.
2007 yamaha r1- the other day i was in rush hour traffic on my motorcycle.i was driving at approximately 45 mph in second gear when the car next to me began to merge over on me.i tried to accelerate to avoid a collisions but my bike did not immediately respond to the throttle.fortunately i was able to maneuver out of the was of the merging vehicle.. The lag in the throttle response seemed very strange to me so i decided to test the bike by recreating the scenario.my finding were, if i ride the motorcycle in 2nd gear at approximately 48 mph (5500 rpm) and try to quickly accelerate (ie- to avoid a collision,,,etc), the bike will lag and accelerate slowly.this defect was consistent each time i tested the bike.all other gears and speeds, acceleration was perfect.before contacting the dealership about my problem, i decided to do some research online.i did a google search for 2007 yamaha r1 lag, and to my surprise, i got countless results on the topic.apparently the issue is found in all 2007 yamaha r1s in the u.s.now, being an experienced rider, i can surly say that 40 to 50 mph are very common speeds for a motorcyclist who travels city streets. And its a fact that acceleration along with proper braking and maneuver ability, are key components to riding a motorcycle and avoiding life threatening situation while in traffic. The yamaha website clearly states,,,the yzf-r1 uses the ycc-t fly-by-wire throttle system for flawless response under all conditions. Yamaha chip control throttle controls a 32-bit ecu fuel injection system for super-responsive, smooth, instantaneous power delivery.this is far from truth and yamaha needs to address this issue.
2007 yamaha yzf-r1, significant power lose insecondgear at 5500 rpms.while in secondgear if i hold steady at 5500 milesand approximately48 mph for a few seconds then applythe throttle the motorcycle does not pick up speed as normal.at 5000 or 6000 rpms the motorcycle picks up speed as normal.i can duplicate this problem at will and have done so many times.this problem will also arise in corner exit and traffic merging.a lose of power with a car on ones tail is scary at best and deadly at worst.
The contact owns a 2007 yamaha yzfr1.while driving in second gear at 48 mph or 5500 rpm, the vehicle would take approximately four seconds to accelerate when the throttled was turned.this failure has occurred on approximately 20 occasions.the dealer was able to duplicate the problem, but was unable to diagnose the failure.the manufacturer informed the contact that there were no failures with the vehicle.the current and failure mileage were 380.
The contact owns a 2007 yamaha yfzr1.while riding 45 mph in second gear the contact attempted to accelerate to merge into traffic andthe vehicle shut off and was struck by another vehicle under normal road conditions.the contact had to let the rpms decrease to under 5,000 and turn the throttle in order to accelerate.the failure recurred after the vehicle was test driven at 45 mph.the vehicle has not been inspected by the dealer.the current and failure mileages were 56.
The contact owns a 2007 yamaha yzfr1, which stalled for two to three seconds when the engine reached 5500 rpms and the throttle accelerated.the vehicle was brought to the dealer for inspection.the contact stated that each model of the vehicle had the same failure that may cause a crash while driving.the current mileage is 331 and failure mileage was 300.
When riding in second gear at approximately 5500 rpm, and hitting the throttle you get nothing, no acceleration for a good 2 seconds.had heard about others having this problem but i hadn't experienced it until today. Nothing was done to correct the failure. As a matter of fact , upon further reading, yamaha has downright ignored this problem and their customer base by not fixing it outright on every bike afflicted by this problem.
Insecondgear going about 50 mph when openingthe throttle the motorcyclestayedat 50 mph for approximately3-4 sec before slightly accelerating at that point.the other day it almost caused me to get into an accident because i could barely get out of the way of a vehicle.i have since learned this happenedwith all 2007 yamaha yzf vehicles. When i contacted yamaha they said theywere aware of it, but have no plans on fixing it yet or if they ever do!
The contact owns a 2007 yamaha yzfr1.while driving 48 mph, the vehicle fails to accelerate when he turns the throttle.the contact stated that this only occurs in second gear at 5500 rpm.initially, the dealer stated that they would contact yamaha.the dealer is currently stating that the vehicle is operating normally and the manufacturer stated that there is no failure.the contact stated that he experienced the failure while driving 48 mph.the current and failure mileages were 1,250.
2007 yamaha yzf r-1: a distinctive and dangerous throttle lag that occurs in 2nd gear at 5500 rpm that lasts for 3~5 seconds. I have had a close call under heavy traffic conditions. This is a serious issue that could lead to injury or deaths. Yamaha customer support was called and i was told that " model does that" and that they had no "fix" for it.
-the contact owns a 2007 yamaha yzfr1. While driving 50 mph in second gear the vehicle took about 6-8 seconds to accelerate. The vehicle was taken to the dealership, who determined that the failure was due to a mapping anomaly. The dealership refused to repair the vehicle ,stating this was a normal occurrence. The vehicle currently had an odometer reading of 2,200 miles.
- the contact stated that while drivingthe 2007 yamaha yzfr1 at 4 mph, and attempting to accelerate faster the motorcycle hesitated for a couple of seconds then eventually accelerated slowly.the motorcycle had an acceleration problem each time itwas driven.the motorcycle had been taken to a dealer, who confirms the problem existed, and stated that there was no remedy for the failure.the current mileage was 230 , and the failure mileage was 0.the consumer stated the problm only happened in second gear.updated 04/05/07.
No power in 2nd gear at 5500 rpmcould cause accident when rolling out of a 45 to 50 mph curvenothing has been done yet!
Brand new motorcycle:2007 yamaha yzf-r1.in 2nd gear at 5500 rpm, the acceleration is literally gone no matter how much throttle you give it.it could be a serious problem and cause an accident if in a bad circumstance when this happens.it is recurring every time at that rpm.it is definitely a manufacturer's defect that must be fixed!!!
The 2007 yamaha r1, stalls for no reason at all and in 2nd gear at 5500rpm there is a huge lag and it also occurrs at 50 mph, and with speedo error that is usually associated w/motorcycles, that means that were roughly going about 45 mph, which is the expressway speeds in california and if we need to accelerate for any type of emergency situation, it takes the bike 3-4 seconds before it responds and starts accelerating.this is a huge safety issue.and i own 2 of these motorcycles and will be doing 2 separate complaints as well.
I have a 2007 yamaha yzf-r1 motorcycle. I bought it last month and became aware of a throttle glitch with the bike. When the bike is running in second gear at 5500 rpm which is 48 mph, the bike is extremely slow to response to changes in the thottle, particularly accelerating. There is about a 3-4 lag. I am conserned because motorcyclist are already at a disadvantage if they are facing an accident. One of the only things they have going for them is to be able to out manuver the situtation. If the yahama 2007 yzf-r1 does not respond for several seconds this takes away our only advantage will facing an accident.
Significant throttle lag at 5500 rpm.the lag is about 3 to 4 seconds then the bike starts to accelerate.in many situations, this lag and subsequent power surge can be an safety issue.power delivery can come when the rider least expectedit.this could cause the rider to panic or cause other motor vehicles to make evasive maneuvers.
When riding about5500 rpms in second gear the throttle system becamecompletely unresponsive. The engine will not gain rpms no matter how far the throttlewas turned. One must let the throttle return to the startingposition and then slowly turn it back to accelerate. Thiswas a startling event, even when it is known to have occurred because in the course of riding therewere so many other factors to be concerned with, such as noting the position of other traffic, steering, etc. Thiswas a safety issue, andwas most definitely a defect in the design/manufacturing of the vehicle.
There is a throttle lag on my 2007 yamaha r1 for about 3 seconds at second gear 5500 rpms.
When trying to apply throttle at certain engine speeds there is no throttle response. This occurs frequently, and has almost caused incidents that put me and others in harms way.
Throttle lag in 2007 yamaha r1.if i ride at about 5500 rpms then apply the throttle, there is a lag of several seconds before the bike responds.because i commute daily in rush hour traffic, i feel that this can put me in danger if i need to make a speed change in an emergency situation.
The contact owns a 2007 yamaha yzfr1 motorcycle.while driving 55 mph the contact attempted to accelerate and there was no throttle response.the control chip in the throttle was replaced, and it wasn't operating normally.the failure only occurred in secondgearat 5500 rpms and it almost caused a collision.the failure mileage was 10,and the current mileage was 1,000. 2007 yamaha yzf-r1.while riding in second gear at 5500 rpms andwhen full throttle was used therewasa lag of around 4 seconds. When dropping down to 5000 rpms or 6000 rpms, and using full throttle responsewas instantaneous.
On my 2007 yamaha r1 motorcycle there is a significant lag' with the throttle response during normal operation at highway speeds. When in 2nd gear and steady at approximately5500 rpms ifattemptingtoaccelerate , ie. To avoid something or someone, the throttle does not instantly respond when applied. This is very dangerous in my opinion ,and the dealer says that yamaha is aware of the problem but does not have a solution.
Throttle hesitation when accelerating.
- the contact owns a 2007 yamaha yzfr1. While driving approximately 52 mphin second gear the vehicle had a loss of power. It took approximately 3 seconds before the vehicle would accelerate.the road conditions were clear. The dealership informed the contact this was a natural occurrence, and it was a characteristic of the vehicle. The contactspoke with the manufacturer, and they stated the samething. The vehicle currently has 3500 miles.
The2007 yamaha r1 motorcycle with fly-by-wire throttle has a definite lag of throttle. This seems to happen a lot at 5,500 rpms while in 2nd gear. When it occurs there is at least a 6-8 second lag in the throttle. It feels like the engine shut off , then it very slowly comes back to life. I feel this problem every time i ride the motorcycle and can reproduce it at will. This almost caused me to get in an accident being rear-ended. I have contactedthelocal dealer, who said it wasn't an issue , and also yamaha who told me that this was the way it was supposed to be. To me this seems to be a safety issue because when it happens themotorcyclewill not accelerate.i a wonder if there is a glitchwith the throttle-by-wire system where there isn't any throttle... Can a problem occur where the throttle will go wide-open for a few seconds. This seems like a dangerous issue to me.
I was riding my motorcycle on the highway while i came up behind a car in the right lane.the speed limit is 65 mph and the car was doing 50 mph in 2nd gear.i decided to pass the car in the left lane.i signaled to get into the left lane checked my mirrors and started to move over and at the same time accelerate.for some reason it felt like the motorcycle turned off.there was no acceleration for about 2 seconds.i was lucky that there was no cars in the left lane.after about 2 seconds the bike accelerated as normal.i looked up the information online about this issue and i found out this problem is common for all the 2007 yamaha r1's in the usa.i have already duplicated this problem over 10 times in second gear at 5500 rpm's.
2007 yamaha yzf-r1 has an acceleration lag in second gear when trying to accelerate from 5,500 rpm. Acceleration from less rpm, or more the lag is not present, but it is always present in second gear at 5,500 rpm. When this lag occurs it is present for several seconds before the bike will accelerate. When it does start to accelerate, it is a slow soft acceleration regardless of throttle input. It seems to me that in this case you do not have full control over the motorcycle, which is very dangerous and life threatening to the rider and to those around (pedestrians, cars). At this time i have not noticed any other faults in the drive by wire throttle, but this problem is scary. What is to say that the throttle will stay open when you do not intend? this is an issue that needs to be addressed immediately. Motorcycle was purchase new on 3/3/07 and this issue was discovered on 3/4/07 with 62 miles on the bike at first occurrence. As of 4/4/07 bike has 669 miles and this issue is still present. It will hesitate on every attempt. Dealer is aware and will inspect on the bikes first service in one week.
I have an 07 yamaha yzf-r1. The bike has throttle lag @ 5500 rpms in second gear, all the 07 us models have this safety issue that needs to be fixed.
The contact owns a 2007 yamaha yzfr1.while attempting to accelerate from 47 to 55 mph the vehicle hesitated for three to five seconds.the failure has been occurring since the vehicle was purchased fourteen days ago.the contact filed a complaint on two occasions with the dealer and the manufacturer, however, both have stated that the vehicle was operating normally.the current mileagewas 636, and failure mileage was 50.the consumer provided information on other complaints pertaining to the same problem. 1. I was cruising in 2nd gear at 5500 rpms, i gave it gas but the bike didn't do anything, i started to let off the gas and all of a sudden there was a sudden burst of power, causing the rear end of the bike to kick out side ways and throwing me off the bike, flipping and tumbling.2.the motorcycle failed to operate as it should have, the consequence was the motorcycle being destroyed and me being severely injured.3. Nothing was done, yamaha denied my claim telling me that it was impossible for something like this to happen.
On my yamaha yzf r1 there is a dangerous lack of respond time when the throttle is opened.when the speed limit is at least 50 mph, and themotorcycle is running in second gear with the rpms at 5500 which is around 48 mph, then hold the motorcycle steady at this rpm for a moment and then opening the throttle pretty full the motorcycle will takes between 3-4 seconds before it will respond.
