2015 yamaha xc 155.consumer writes in regards to speedometer inaccuracy reading/ speed sensor lead wire clamping recall notice. The consumer stated the speedometer read 15% faster than the true speed.the consumer referenced recall #16v890000.

Cpsc: 2015 yamaha yz250f: consumer stated while riding the bike, the motor seized. A mechanic determined the connecting rod broke and destroyed the engine. *ss

While driving motorcycle stalled.consumer restarted motorcycle,and drove it to the dealer for inspection. Mechanic informed consumer that problem could not be duplicated or resolved.the service department agreed that the backfires were through the carburetor and suggested that this was a characteristics of this model.multiple adjustments and settings were tried but no improvement.(yamaha xv17ats 2004) *sc

With yamaha motors buying back damaged and totaled motorcycle parts. *mr there were transmission failures that involved road star, silverado, midnight star, wild star, and warrior.(estimated manufacturing dates were march 200, and august 2001)most riders were given no warning signs, some have been seriously injured and the cause for these transmission failures was being researched.yamaha motor corp. Usa demanded dealers to return damaged parts back to them or they would not get paid, instead of allowing theowner to have their gears tested for rockwell hardness, magne-fluxing, and x-ray by an independent source.the consumer asked yamaha to fix the engine knock which was not related to the transmission failure and they refused to fix it for one year.yamaha offered to replacethe transmission.the consumer felt that yamaha were trying to hide evidence. *scc

The contact owns a 2008 yamaha xv1900 (na).while the contact was riding his vehicle with his wife seated behind him, he struck a bump in the road.the quick release sissy bar and arm rest assembly that locks to the motorcycle became detached.his wife almost fell off the rear of the vehicle, but, luckily, she was able to grab on to her husband and avoid injury.the contact pulled over and went back to get the assembly that detached.they continued riding and came across other bikers with twist ties, which were used to hold the assembly to the motorcycle.the vehicle was taken to the dealer and they were able to duplicate the failure.the dealer stated thatthey ordered the necessary parts for the repair and would call the contact when they arrived.the vehicle has not been repaired.the speed was unknown.the failure mileage was 2,800 and current mileage was 3,021.

As of march 25th, the consumer's motorcycle wasn't repaired under recall. *ph (road star 1600) *screcall 03v304000.

While driving the motorcycle at low or high speed transmissiongears the transmission gear dropped.two days ago, while driving, the high gear dropped to the lower gear. The dealer had all ready rebuilt the transmission.

Hinchey on behalf of constituent re a series of motorcycle recalls initiated by yamaha over the past 10 years or so.*njnot all consumers of recalled motorcycles received appropriate notice of the recall.yamaha was not sufficient in providing all their dealerships with the required kits for repair up to six months.

Yamaha mt-01.consumer writes in regards to motorcycle foreign recalls.the law firm is seeking information and/or request nhtsa to open an investigation into the failure of yamaha motor corp, usa to fully report foreign recalls of the mt-01 motor cycle failures. On september 12, 2007 yamaha usa reported to nhtsa the foreign recall of the model mt-01 for 290 affected motorcycles sold in canada regarding a rear suspension issue. The law firm believed yamaha was under a pre-existing duty to report all foreign recalls of the mt-01 motorcycles through the world. Surprisingly, the mt-01 model was recalled in the european community of greece, england and australia, yet none of these recalls were notified to nhtsa.

Vehicle experienced two tread separations; first,wasright rear tire separation, while traveling at 65 mph, tire remained inflated after separation. Second,wasleft rear tire tread separation, while traveling 70 mph, causing a rollover collision.no injury received.driver and one passenger were involved in both incidents concerning a 1990, honda, civic; aftermarket equipment, p175/170r13, dot# ccfh8a4454.
