The contact owns a 2006 monaco monarch rv equipped with a workhorse chassis w21. While driving approximately 35 mph, thebrake pedal was engaged and the anti-lock brake system warninglight illuminated. The contact smelled a burning odor and noticed smoke emitting from both front wheels. The vehicle was pulled over to the side of the road. The vehicle was able to resume operation. A recall notification was received on may 21, 2009 associated with nhtsa campaign id number 09v110000 (service brakes, hydraulic). The repair part was unavailable and the manufacturer was unable to provide an arrival date for the part. The contact had concern of the safety risk involved and the uncertainty of the part availability. The failure mileage was approximately 5,000.
