Our rv is now having the second wheel speed sensor replaced. The rv has 14000 miles on it. The first time the technician told me that he replaces them frequently on the rvs. When the sensor fails the abs and the esp fail. The brakes sometimes pump themselves, which is extremely dangerous. I did a search on this problem and it is widespread. The mercedes manufactures the chassis. A search on sprinter rv with abs failure turns up 20 or so complaints about the same part failing. The problem renders the vehicle dangerous to drive. The initial failure occurred when we were driving at over 60mph and starting down a steep mountain, thanks
The contact owned a 2016 winnebago view. While the vehicle was parked, it caught fire. The fire was extinguished by the fire department. A fire report was not filed. The contact called mercedes-benz of rochester (4447 canal pl se, rochester, mn 55904, (507) 216-9006). The dealer had an investigator inspect the vehicle and advised the contact to call nhtsa. A representative from the insurance company also came out and informed the contact that the glow plug stuck on the engine caused the fire. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and agreed with the dealer's assessment. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer and was not repaired. The vehicle was destroyed. The approximate failure mileage was 14,000.
2016 winnebago view.consumer writes in regards to vehicle alignment issues, radio and gps system not working.the consumer was informed it was fairly common to have an alignment issue because the coach compartment was installed after the chassis had already been aligned.the consumer stated it took over tow months, before the rv was ready. The consumer stated as he was driving, he noticed the repairs had not been made. When the consumer returned to the dealer, he was informed the system had only been reprogrammed, because the system replacement was not approved. It took another week, before the problem was finally resolved. Also, the stove and refrigerator stopped working due to a switch on the gas tank stopped working.
