In january 2007 i was driving my 2006 winnebago view down i-95 to orlando florida.somewhere in georgia the turbo failed and the check engine light came on and i could not go over 60mph in traffic flowing at 75mph plus.it was very dangerous.i took the winnebago to a dodge dealer in orlando and after 6 days of unexpectedly staying in a hotel they repaired the problem.this same instance happened this weekend in september of 2008.i stopped for fuel and i was driving on the garden state parkway and accelerated and the same problem happened again.immediately the i knew exactly what it was and again the turbo failed and the throttle was extremely sluggish and i could not go over 60 mph.in stop and go traffic it literally takes 30 seconds or so to accelerate 10 mph in some instances.this is a design flaw and a dangerous situation.furthermore in another instance water spilled into the electric panel underneath the refrigerator in the rv and immediately causes sparking and an electrical fire.we were driving down hill with company and three dogs and the fire was eventually extinguished.i have had many problems with this machine since purchasing it initially and it is not worth the money paid.this vehicle is a poor design and i have only had it for 2+ years and i have had 20+ problems that have needed to be addressed.the bottom
2006 winnebago view. Entering the highway, transmission stayed in 1st gear causing a dangerous situation.the cars behind stacked up behind me, as well as the highway ---i had no choice but to merge on to. Dealer said its the abs module that is bad.i had the amber triangle, wheel psi, check engine and abs lights on.vehicle speedometer was inoperative also. The cost will be $3300 dollars and two weeks worth of waiting on the part.1800 miles from home. I can disconnect the battery and reconnect.and drive.it does shift but after a few miles the lights come back on and now stuck in that gear till stopping and repeating process.
My 2006 winnebago view motorhome shuts down unexpectedly while driving.every system goes flat line and i have to coast over to the shoulder, put the vehicle in park and then restart the engine.
Failure of turbo resonator. The plastic part has two elements, held together by glue. Then the turbo kicked in the resonator came apart and the vehicle's computer forced it into "limp home mode", which meant freeway travel at 25 mph!

My 2006 winnebago view keeps going into a reduced power limp home state.very dangerous on the interstate.. I can't merge properly and vehicle won't go over 60 mph.very little power at higher speeds. Not possible to drive with flow of traffic. This is going to cause an accident sooner or later.
Driving up a hill and the motor lost power. As hill became steeper, more power was lost.
Vehicle loses power and barely able to maintain speed on grade, entry to freeway, from stops, etc. This is referred to as "limp home mode" in tye yahoo groups winnebago-navion group.a majority of the owners are experiencing this difficulty resulting in a safety hazard.
2006 winnebago view suffered turbo resonator failure on i-75 between knoxville, tn and chattanooga, tn.extremely dangerous since vehicle would barely climb the hills, required manual downshift to 1st gear, top speed 45 mph going downhill.severe accidents almost occurred four times.extreme power loss.
Vehicle engine computer sensed error in went into a limp home mode causing the vehicle to be unable to go faster than 50mph on the flat roads and less than 35 mph on hills. Mode is dangerous on the highway as comes on without warning (no check engine light).
Driving down the road, and turbo resonator cracked on 2006 itasca navion (dodge sprinter chassis/mercedes diesel).this has happened twice, resulting in deceleration necessitating stopping and calling service, or if you continue to drive, progressive deceleration until the vehicle quits moving altogether.not very safe at all, and this should be addressed by the manufacturer who, like toyota, continues to ignore this common, not coincidental, poor part design.warranty replacement isn't enough after failure and near death!let's get some action:write your state's attorney general and the better business bureau with copies of mercedes.this needs to be exposed!
2006 dodge sprinter/winnebago view. Consumer express they believe motorhome is a lemon and request relief under act 297 of 1993 *tgwthe consumer stated the rv has broken down on three occasions for the exact same problem; a broken resonator.
Recall notice for winnebago view motor home exterior slideout storage drawer.consumer is still waiting for repairs. *njthe consumer stated while driving one night on the interstate, the drawer slid out/open. Another serious safety problem was the ceiling lights. When the ceiling lights were used for an extended period of time, they melted the lens cover. The dealer suggested that the consumer remove one of the light bulbs and buy a new cover. The consumer stated the lens was thin and can not withstand the heat generated by the bulbs. The consumer stated he replaced the bulbs with fluorescent fixtures. Recall 07v163000 while driving, the consumer smelled an odor and then the abs light illuminated. Shortly after, the calipers released, because there was difficulty braking.the consumer took the rv to a mechanic and was informed the abs sensors were destroyed. Updated 06/15/09.
Dt*: the contact stated while driving 70 mph, the vehicle lost power causing engine speed to reduce to 40 mph. The problem had happened 4 times at various speeds.the vehicle was towed to an authorized dealer for service.each time the resignator (part # 5137154aa) was replaced.the manufacturer was contacted.
While stopped in traffic -went to accelerate and nothing.ended up being the transmission. I purchased this vehicle at 30k. Had the tranny fluid and filter changed.just spent 7000 k on remanufactured transmission.it had a total of 53307 miles on it.this is a crap vehicle. Even the mercedes mechenic. Told me to get rid of it as soon as i can. Said the tranny wasn't made to haul a camper.this failure happened in atlanta,on top of the third bridge high interstate (285/85). We stopped traffic for an hour on a friday at 5pm. Then set on top for 8.5 hours waiting for tow truck.
2006 winnebago view built on a dodge sprinter 3500.current mileage 7655..transmission has failed three times when climbing steep hills; vehicle rolled backwards, in one instance causing considerable body damage.first failure and repair on 6/23/2006; torque converter replaced.second failure and repair 9/15/06; transmission and torque converter replaced.third failure 11/1/2006; same problem.

I have been complaining about the braking system on my dodge sprinter 3500 motorhome to no avail. The dealer continues to tell me that a soft pedal is acceptable. When braking i have to pump the brakes to get a hard pedal. I know that some day i will get into a panic stop situation and will probably have an accident.
I have a 2006 dodge sprinter chassis with a winnebago motor home coach. The brakes are so soft that they go to the floor at times. I have had it to the dealer twice complaining about the problem and they tell me it is normal. I am sure that someday i will have an accident due to the brakes failing.
I suggest you look at the new line of rvs from winnebago, called the "vue" and the "navion" in their itaska line.according to the stickers in the ones i saw, they have a net carrying capacity that is under 350 pounds.that is the weight of two average adults.there is therefore no room for any clothing, food, or other items; truly an overloadedunsafe design.

Dt*: the contact stated the side mirrors were not wide enough to provide sufficient viewing of the back of the vehicle.also, this made it difficult to move over into another lane and was more difficult on the passenger side.
The contact owns a 2006 winnebago view. While driving at various speeds, the front passenger side wheel hubcap disengaged. The failure occurred on normal road surfaces and bumpy roads. The hubcap was purchased from the dealer and installed by the contact. All four wheel hubcaps were eventually replaced eight times. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 7,000.
Lost wheel cover enroute.
