Driver door lock and latch mechanism seems to glitch out, leaving door impossible toclose . It tends to reactivate after driving for a few minutes with the door open warning light on. Weather doesnt seem to effect it like frozen locks. This issue has happened on randomly even on 50 degree days.it seems to be a common issue on the volvo forums.

The car was purchased on march 1, 2012.shortly after the purchase of the car the wiper blades malfunctioned.they did not work properly and we had to pull off to side of the road on the highway with our children in the car.they would not shut off even after we pulled the key out of the ignition.it was a huge visibility hazard.we called the dealership where it was purchased and they would not help us, even though it was still within our 30 day warranty period.every time we operated the vehicle the wipers would turn on even when we took the key out of the ignition.we called the two volvo dealerships in the state of minnesota and were told we would have to pay for repairs.we took it back to the mercedes dealership where it was purchased and they told us to take it back to volvo for the recall (09v139000)repairs and called on our behalf to arrange an appointment.the volvo dealership told us the recall had already been performed but the computer was still showing the windshield wiper errors that should have been rectified by the software.finally, the volvo dealership re-installed the updated software.it has been several days since the recall software was installed and the wipers continue to malfunction and has now begun to scrape our windshield and drain the battery.we are concerned for our safety.the car cannot be driven.the remedy for the recall does not rectify the safety hazard.operating this vehicle will dramatically increase the risk of an accident and yet we need our automobile for transportation every day.

Driving through a flat newly paved parking lot. Car stalled, tried to restart twice, wouldn't start. Opened drivers door to find large amount of gasoline maybe 3-4 gallons under the car. Can not believe that it didn't ignite. Towed to dealer, fuel pump nipple cracked (part of fuel pump) sending gas all over the hot exhaust. Dealer claimed this the first failure of this kind they had seen, but had the fuel pump in stock. (doesn't sound right) i feel very lucky that this car didn't go up in flames / or even explode with myself or my children in this car.

Seatbelt warning indicators for driver and front passenger do not meet federal automobile safety regulations.

During a scheduled service in 2008-09 the tech. Failed to check for leaks after an oil and filter change. The car was driven for a few days with oil undetected until the engine cowl could not hold an more oil and started leaking on the driveway.now after a recall for a heater hose smythe service detected an oil leak coming for the brake vacuum pump and has to be replaced at a cost of $1154.00 (vacuum pump $995.00 and labor $159.00).the vacuum pump is lubricate by the engine and i wonder if the lack of oil pressure might have shortened the life of the brake vacuum pump, or if the vacuum pump is a problem with other volvo cars? a $1154.00 cost to replace the pump seems to be excessive for a vacuum pump no bigger the a softball.[xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

Severe subframe rust due to excessive heat from the exhaust on the v8 models of the volvo s80s only. Dealer said the excessive heat will melt the paint off, causing rust to attract to the subframe. The subframe is a critical component to the car, unfortunately although volvo has said this is a common problem on the v8 models, they will not do anything to fix the problem. This is the only place my vehicle has rust, and the car is undercoated yearly.

The front subframe of my vehicle was found to be unsafe by the volvo dealer in my area.corrosion had greatly deteriorated parts of the frame which supports the front suspension, steering and engine.i was told that replacement was the only option to avoid a potentially catastrophic failure while driving.close examination revealed significant loss of structural integrity of the subframe. Volvo service staff told me this was a common problem for this model s80 v8.

Excessive rust is forming on my front subframe and in some places has rusted completely through. Small perferations were noticed at repair facility and i was told that it will need to be replaced.it cannot be welded/repaired.this is a known problem with the 2007-2010 volvo s80 v8 which volvo refuses to recall and will be an extremely costly repair. It also makes the car unsafe to drive should the repair not be made.

Excessive rust is forming on my front subframe and in some places has rusted completely through. I have a silver dollar sized hole through it and it will need to be replaced. This is a known problem with the 2007-2010 volvo s80 v8 which volvo refuses to recall and will be an extremely costly repair. It also makes the car unsafe to drive and i could also not pass inspection in pa for this kind of damage.

Front sub-frame which holds engine/transmission/front suspension has significant external and internal corrosion.advancing corrosion will effect steering and engine mount causing a loss of control.car parked when noticed, 5/14/2019.believed to be problem with all volvo s80 with v8 engine.

The contact owns a 2007 volvo s80. The contact stated the vehicle was taken to the dealer to have nhtsa campaign id number 10v335000 tires: pressure monitoring and regulating systems repair performed. The repair did not correct the failure. The contact experienced five blowouts due to the side wall failure before the recall was performed and after the recall was performed he experienced three blowouts. The failure occurred on the driver and passenger front tire while driving approximately 5 to 6 mph. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who stated the recall repair was not the cause of the side wall failure. The manufacturer was contacted but would not assist with the repair. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 32,000 and the current mileage was 42,000.

Windshield leak. After a recent rain storm (april 2017), the passenger side carpeting was soaked. Took the car to my local volvo dealership and they verified the windshield seal was leaking (unsound) at the top. They referred me to a local auto glass company who told me they have seen this on several volvo's where the seal was not properly bonded at the factory. I have searched for recalls, bulletins, etc. But have not found any information regarding this defect. If in fact it is a factory deficiency i believe i should be reimbursed for the repair or replacement of the windshield.
