The contact owns a 2007 volvo s60. The contact stated that the air bag warning indicator remained illuminated. The dealer reset the code, but the failure recurred. The vehicle was returned to the dealer who made an adjustment to the software. The remedy failed to correct the failure. The manufacturer was not notified. The approximate failure mileage was 53,835.

While driving approximately 70mph in heavy traffic, in unfamiliar area and dark, the car experienced complete shutdown of electrical and mechanical power. The shutdown was instantaneous without any prior warning that a catastrophic failure was looming. The driver was without all lighting, power assist brakes or steering. This issue was greatly complicated by not being sufficiently visible to other drivers, prompting several last moment evasive maneuvers while exiting the active lanes. Initially, the car did not respond to attempts to start or to get lights to illuminate. After approximately 3 minutes, the car started and operated normally. Everything had appeared to reset, as if car had battery disconnected after service.this appears to me as a repeat of the complaint filed on the 2007 volvo s60 dated 7-2-2014, where the owner reported ?complete and total electrical failure? four times in about a year. Volvo was notified the next morning of this new example of their horrifying safety issue. I was instructed to take it to the local volvo service department where the issue could be diagnosed. The car was taken to the dealer and i gave the service adviser reference numbers for both the conversation i had with volvo and the nhtsa for the complaints i filed. Additionally, they were given the information on the prior complaint describing the same issue. After 1 day in service department, problem cannot be diagnosed. Other than an issue with code/codes, relating to fuel pressure, there is no immediate indication of what may have caused this instantaneous complete engine and electrical failure. Currently, the technician is email corresponding with ?people in nj? to tell him ?what they want him to do? our car has 99k miles at time of failure.

Seat belt reminder is not working. ( no beeping sound or display while driving without seat belt)erratic reading/display gas mileage (electronic reading of gas gauge is not correct).

While driving at approx. 70 mph, my car experienced a complete and total electrical and power failure. Quite literally, the car's electrical and power system stopped operating while driving at highway speed.i brought the car to the volvo dealer who charged me $1911 to replace a circuit board assuming this would resolve the problem.since this original occurrence it has been repeated another 3 times, again at highway speed by both my wife and myself.i have subsequently called volvo but was told it is not an identified issue although it is extremely dangerous.

While driving car, a fire started under the hood near the headlight , flames were flying although car had no engine light and ran great.pulled over and people had fire extinguisher and fire company came to make sure if was all out. Extensive damage done to car. I am told it should of blown a fuse instead of lighting on fire with my grandson and dogs in the car with no warning. Insurance said it is electrical with the car and will not cover.

I pulled out from a parking lot onto a main street while it was raining. I thought there was enough of a break in traffic to safely pull out, but when applying the throttle with the front wheels turned, the wheels spun for a few seconds before i lifted off the throttle. Because my car had partially entered the lane with no room to back up due to a vehicle behind, the oncoming vehicle had to swerve around my car. The following day, i took the vehicle in for service at the local dealership and mentioned that the traction control did not appear to be working. This was my second complaint about the traction control (about 8,000 miles prior, my car could not gain traction whileclimbing a wet parking garage ramp). The technician found a faulty brake pedal position sensor and replaced it. My service advisor informed me that the faulty sensor caused the traction control and stability control to be off-line since. I am wondering why my car did not issue any type of warning that these two safety features were off-line. According to the situation described to me, the computer knew there was some type of problem with the sensor, so it disabled the traction control and stability control in response.

Etm ( electronic throttle module) did not work properly. Engine management system did not correspond to fuel and air ratio accordinly.so the car jumps even with lthe release of brake in a undue fashion and hit the car in front.

The contact owns a 2007 volvo s60. The contact stated that while driving approximately 38 mph the transmission failed to shift into fifth gear. The contact also stated that whenever premium grade fuel was used, the engine would exhibit less engine power. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the adaptive transmission system was reset. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, but did not provide further assistance. The approximate failure mileage was 51,000.

My daughter was sitting in the back seat of the car and when we stopped to get out her door would not open. I thought maybe the child safety lock was locked so i went on the internet to find a reason for the door not able to open from the inside but would open from the outside. While researching what the problem is i have noticed many other people having the very same problem i am having. The safety problem in this is if i were to get in a accident and my daughter needed to get out of the car from that side she would not be able to. The problem appears to be a piece of plastic breaks leaving the handle from the inside in-op.

2007 volvo s60:when in drive, vehicle would roll on an incline.would have to keep foot on brake, slight pressure on gas or put in park.when told above, cust states veh rolls back on an incline when in drive road:test ck transmission--performing to factory specs, transmission is not supposed to lock at idle, rollback is normal.

New vehicle 2007 volvo s60 r was picked up from the dealership, volvo of oak park, oak park, il in the afternoon. The vehicle was driven to my residence in farmer city, il. The odometer reading was 186 miles when the transmission failed , most likely, a shift linkage malfunctioned, which resulted in a total loss of power. The problem occurred when up shifting while passing on a rural road and nearly causing a head-on collision with an oncoming vehicle. The vehiclewas equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission.

The contact owns a 2007 volvo s60. While driving approximately 1 mph he applied pressure to the brake pedal and it extended without resistance to the floor.in order to operate the brake pedal he had to apply repeated pressure to it.the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where he was informed that the master cylinder was failing. The vehicle was repaired but the failure continued to occur. The failure and current mileages were 60,000.

On occasion, i will lose brake pressure and stopping strength/ability when pressing the brake pedal on a slight uphill while attempting to come to a stop.i can lift my foot off the pedal and reapply it and the full pedal feel and stopping power will return.there are certain locations that i can, at will, reproduce this occurrence, and there are other times when it has happened unexpectedly and almost caused me to drive into an intersection against opposing traffic.

On several occassions whenever i excel making a left or right turn, it stalls or hesitate. It has done this also while increasing speed on highway. The car was always in motion and has happened on different days. Most recently today.

Driving car at 75 mph with cruise control set on.car decelerated and down shifted through each gear and then the engine shut off.this occurred two times. There was another instance of the same parameters but the car started to accelerate its own and when shifted the transmission into neutral the engine ran to redline. Pulled the car off to the side of the road and turned off the engine.restarted the car and the engine went immediately to redline.after that the car ran fine for 2 days then the deceleration issue happened again.
