Read complaints for VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT (2015)

Airbag sensor light came on suddenly. Took car to dealership and they stated that the sensor was bad and had to be replaced. 52k miles. Dealer wanted me to pay for issue but at the end vw will be covering the expense. Had an extended warranty that had no coverage.

Loss of airbags, power brakes, power steering, transmission shifting functions, engine hesitation. Indicator lights on dash flash or stay on steady include: coil, steering wheel, air bag, abs, image of car skidding, brakes, and tire inflation. The speedometer does not work and the fuel gauge just keeps sweeping. The rev limiter does not work either. The auto start feature is non functional and the push button to stop the motor from running must be pressed twice instead of once. Car had this discrepancy on 30 jan 2019, 06 feb 2019, and now 27 feb 2019. The dealers keep working on a grounding nut but the problem keeps persisting. Problem has always accursed immediately after starting the car, not while driving.

I was driving my 2015 vw passat (in excellent condition) i was pulling into a parking space slowly and as i turned the steering wheel i heard a crumpling noise that sounded like it was coming from my steering column. I stopped immediate and suddenly the dash board read "airbag error".i proceeded into the parking space slowly, turned the car off and called my vw dealer. We set an appointment to have it looked at.after about 10 miles of drive time on my way home, all of my other steering wheel components (raido, dash controller, voice controller, had all stopped working. When i got home i did my research and have discovered the airbag error along with the other steering components failing..is very common in 2015 passats!i feel this needs to be addressed as a safety recall. What ever is causing the airbag to become malfunctioned needs to be addressed. I have made an appointment with my vw service department.they want $145.00 to take it apart and assess what went wrong. Will keep you posted.

Takata recall, my airbag warning light has come on and i've been told the clock spring are messed up. This car is 2 years old and $120 is what vw charges to diagnose the problem then will decide what portion i should pay according to the service dept. Manager at village vw in chattanooga, tn. I was told it is warranted for 36,000 miles. I'm assuming that these are "all" messed up after going to a couple of websites and reading about the problems hundreds of others are having..there has been no accident but i am concerned for my daughters safety driving with these lethal airbags. I was told this occurs quite often and occasionally vw will partially reimburse for this part as they have not decided (or been forced) to recall this yet. This is a defective part and should be examined closer for a recall and immediate repair. Charging $120 to reset the light is not a n adequate solution.

Volkswagen passat recall my husband and i bought a 2015 volkswagen passat in january of 2016.it was the newest car we have ever purchased as a young professional couple with two small children.well at 36,750 miles in march of 2017, the steering wheel began to click and the airbag light came on.i was no longer able to use the horn, the radio or the phone from the steering wheel.i called the dealer where we purchased the car and he said it sounded like a clockspring and that we did have a warranty for 3 years or up to 36,000 miles and since we were so close, we needed to call the volkswagen dealer.i called new motors in erie, pa.i talked to a very nice mechanic that agreed that it sounded like that was indeed the issue.he informed me that volkswagen had recalled that particular part on the 2012-14 models but had yet to recall it on our 2015 model that we had.he also said that although we were very close to the 36,000-mile warranty, it was out of his hands to fix it under warranty and to call corporate to give him the go ahead to do so since it did seem like this is the right call since we were so close to the warranty and it is a consistent problem in these models.my husband and i both talked to volkswagen corporate several times since march of 2017 to only have them treat us poorly and tell us that it isn't their concern.my airbags and horn currently aren't working because of it.i had the erie volkswagen dealer officially diagnose the car issues in june of 2017 and it was in fact a faulty clockspring.again volkswagen refused to cover the repair cost of over $1000.00.this part has been recalled on numerous volkswagen models.the car was stationary when it happened.i turned it on one morning to find the horn not working, controllers on the steering wheel and airbag light on.

I was in my drive way and started my car when the air bag malfunction light came on in my car.at that point the horn, cruise control, phone, and radio functions all stopped working on my steering wheel. I looked in my owner manual and it said to call the dealership immediately.when i called - the vw dealership i normally go to said it would be 2-3 weeks before they could get me in. I asked if the vehicle was safe to drive and they, of course, would not tell me "yes or no."only to find out later that the entire time i was driving with this light on - my airbags would not have deployed if i were in an accident.i have 2 children and if we were in a wreck and me or one of my children were injured due to my airbags not working -- vw would have a lawsuit on their hands.it is a matter of time before this occurs.so,i took my vehicle to an authorized vw dealership.after running a diagnostic on the car - i was told that the steering wheel clock spring was faulty.i left the car to be repaired.while i was without my vehicle (one week due to having to order parts, etc.) i researched the issue.i was excited to see that vw had issued a recall in aug. 2015 for the steering wheel clock spring.unfortunately, it is only for 2010-2014 passat.my passat is considered a 2015; however, the production date is dec. 2014.i was told at the dealership that i would have to pay for this repair out of pocket because my car was not covered under the recall. I contacted vw care center and even emailed several managers from the corporate location.my emails were never answered and the customer care center said there was nothing they could do.i am left with paying over $500 in repairs and almost $200 for the rental car i had to get for the 7 days my car was at the dealership.i would like to know why my car is not covered under the recall when it has the exact same issues.

I i was in a car wreck in my 2015 wolf burg edition passat on july 16, 2020 and my vehicle received major damages while the car was in motion on west thomas street in hammond louisiana, but the air bags didn't deploy at any time! my car was totaled by my insurance company. My air bags didn't provide any assistance related to my safety! i want to know if their are any recalls on the air bags for thisvehicle.model.

Frontal airbag inflator not replace before or after purchase of vehicle. Horizontal adjustment for headlights not addressed before or after purchase of vehicle.

While turning out of a parking space at a slow speed i felt a stiffness in the turning wheel followed by a crunch and the airbag error light illuminating. Horn is not operational either in addition to other steering wheel controls.

Tires: front driver-side tire blown, "donut" spare on the car currently, with a 50 mph speed limit. Front passenger-side tire has a bubble in the sidewall.there are 2 open recalls - one for the air bag, and one for the headlights, that need to be resolved. I've been trying to get the recalls addressed since november of 2019. Every time i make contact with someone at volkswagen, i'm told i will get a call back but i never do. In november of 2019, i was told there was a backlog of recall work, and was given no time frame with regard to when i would be able to bring my car in for service. For the tires (for which i have a paid protection plan), i was told today (6/2/20) that the earliest i can come in is june 16th. I use my car regularly, and am not comfortable driving it in its current condition until then.

Takata recall: i want to voice my concern over the policy of volkswagen not to issue loaner vehicles to owners with the takata driver side air bags.after several phone conversations with a representative of their case management team (rcm), their conclusion is that it not a safety issue granting the need for them to issue a loaner vehicle. I disagree to the point that we are currently not driving vehicle because we do not feel safe.and to make matters worse, they could not tell me when parts are going to be available to fix it. I know several car manufactures have loaner programs for their customers with this issue.i think the nhtsa should have a policy that all car manufactures should have to issue loaner vehicles to their customers with this issue. To be clear, we have not had an air bag deployment with our vehicle, i just wanted the nhtsa to be aware of what car manufactures are telling their customers.

At around 47,000 miles i began hearing a clicking noise when turning my steering wheel. After a day or two of this my airbag light came on. I lost function of my horn and found that out while traveling at highway speeds when some one was merging into my lane without checking to see if it was clear. I also lost all steering wheel mounted controls. I purchased the vehicle used about 27 days prior so i returned to the dealer and was informed i was responsible for the repairs. They did trouble shoot the issue and let me know that the clock spring was defective.

Takata recall. The contact owns a 2015 volkswagen passat. The contact stated that the manufacturer was unable to provide the part to schedule a repair appointment concerning nhtsa campaign number: 19v014000 (air bags). The contact purchased the vehicle from ventura volkswagen (3270 perkin ave, ventura, ca 93003, 1-(833) 214-7714). The dealer advised the contact to call karmart of maui (411 huku lii pl #103, kihei, hi 96753, (808) 419-7400). Karmart of maui indicated that they were not authorized by the manufacturer and had no tools to service the recall campaign. The manufacturer was contacted to determine an appropriate dealer referral. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.

Clock spring failure!!!clock spring failure!!!clock spring failure!!!while moving and executing a right turn a crunching noise was heard from the center of the steering wheel. The airbag light immediately came on. Also, the horn & all steering wheel buttons/controls failed. This car was purchased a week prior from carvana. 49,300 miles on the odo. Too late to return it. The clock spring failure means that the airbag system is not active until the part is replaced, installed, and the system is reset.a quick read thru of these numerous complaints from model year 2015 show these failures of a safety-critical part over the last 18 months are now occurng with increasing frequency.it is quite obvious to me that vwoa/chattanooga installed the same defective part, from the same supplier, that fails after about 2.5-3 years in service. This problem is no different than that of the thousands of identical failures in vw passat model years 2012, 2013, & 2014 leading to a recall of the defective component.immediate action is required by dot to readdress and recall this previously recalled part.vw dealers are currently charging 2015 passat owners between $500 and $800 to install a $35 part.if their passat is older than 2015, the part is installed gratis as part of that recall.. Vw will not act until prompted/ordered to do so. Something is rotten in wolfsburg again! let's quickly act before more are harmed/killed because an airbag system failed to operate when parameters dictated it should have deployed.

I saw the recall on this website earlier this year so i made an appointment with my local volkswagen dealership.when i arrived, the service manager said they did not have the parts.i asked if there was a loaner vehicle because i drive 100 miles per day to work and i do not feel safe.they just looked at me and said , 'uh...no'.

Horn, steering wheel buttons, power steering and driver side airbag are not working as a result of a faulty clock spring.

I am requesting that dot nhtsa investigate a safety issue with clock switch part on my 2015 vw passat, which controls both the air bags and the horn. I purchased the car new in sept 2015. I started my car with 42,500 miles and the airbag light came on and stayed on. The vehicle was stationary in a flat parking lot the first time i noticed the air bag light. When i drove the vehicle and turned the steering wheel there were clicking noises coming from the steering wheel area. When i got home, i googled a couple possible causes and scheduled the vehicle in to a mechanic. Before i could get vehicle in for service, the horn and other steering wheel controls went out. I was left without airbags and a horn on a vehicle that i drive daily. The mechanic determined that the clock spring needs to be replaced. I am responsible for all repair costs. An august 2015 clock spring recall included 416,000 vehicles including 2010-2014 passat vehicles. My vehicle repair is for the same part, but the year of vehicle is not included in the recall.

The contact owns a 2015 volkswagen passat. While driving 20 mph, the contact depressed the horn, but it failed to sound. Air bag sensor has gone on 3 times while under warranty. Each time the dealership fixed it.it has gone off again now that i am @37,000 miles and out of warranty. The steering wheel is making a cranking noise. The horn does not work, the switches on the horn do not work.

Airbag light on, steering controls (on steering wheel, radio, horn) no longer functioning

Around the 60,000 mile mark, the airbag light came on, and the horn, as well as the steering wheel controls, stopped working. Went to the dealership, where they figured it was the clockspring, which would cost nearly $700 to replace. Vw has prevously issued recalls for other models because of this very issue

As reported by takata: in the event of an inflator rupture, metal fragments could pass through the airbag cushion material, which may result in serious injury or death to vehicle occupants

This first was notice when car was parked and started to drive on the highway steering wheel makes a clicking noise when its is turned.at the same time as the noise started the air bag light can on and stays on.this is the 2nd time this has happened.vw said it is a wiring problem from the airbag modulal to the sensorinstead of a direct fix they did a overlay of the circuit wires.this has now failed.

I am needing assistance with my vehicle,i am currently station in germany and there is not a dealership that can replace the airbag. My concern is that if something happens while my wife and family is in the car and there is a malfunction with the airbag, it could cause serious injury,is there a solution to this issue for personnel stationed overseas not able to resolve this issue?

There is a weird noise when i turn the steering wheel and the controls on the steering wheel do not work.the airbag light is on.

The vehicle was in park in a flat lot when i first noticed that my airbag light was on, as well as my steering wheel controls for the stereo did not work.upon driving the vehicle, i noticed a clicking coming from the steering column when turning. I spoke with a local mechanic who told me about the previous vw recalls for clock springs, and that i was having that same issue, but mine would not be covered by the recall.

My passenger side airbag sensor all of a sudden is 'broken' requiring a $400 repair. I don't really ever passengers in my car. Is this normal?

Took car in for recall on air bags drove home 3 minutes from dealer.next morning car dies out in the middle of busy intersection and will not restart nearly causing an accident 3 blocks from home. Dealer says they did nothing to engine. And would charge me 175.00 to diagnose . Vw had this problem with earlier year passat vehicles when power was interrupted and would cause fuel pump failure.

I took my vw in at 90000 and it was in need of a steering clock spring, here i am 30k mi later and guess what. I am told this is normal but i think he same breath the manger tells the other customer not to worry about it that it was only 2015s . 400 bucks later !!! and that was half. How is this not an issue or default!! i was literally in the drive thru and honked my horn next thing j know my warning system telling me my airbags suck.

Takata recall. I tried to do factory recall airbag, but my airbag module is not working. The dealer doesn't/cannot do anything about it. Airbag indicator sometimes blinks and sometimes doesn’t. My volkswagen passatis 2015.

Takata recalli received a takata recall notice recently for my 2015 vw passat. I am currently a dod civilian working and livingin germany. When i moved here 2 years ago for my job i shipped my car which did not have a recall placed on it at the time. When i received the notice i contacted vw customer care for assistance. Due to my location they referred me to the overseas military cars service (omcs) for further assistance in coordinating recall repairs with vw dealers in germany. I did so, however was informed by the omcs rep that the recall was only applicable in the us and that the required parts and tools to complete the recall is not available overseas for the recall to be completed by local vw dealers (see attached photo of email). She said omcs has alerted vw of this issue but received no response. She said there was nothing omcs could do and i needed to direct all of my questions to the manufacturer. I contacted vw again and explained the situation, but received a response that there was nothing they could do and i needed to direct all further questions and request for assistance to omcs (see attached email). I have contacted both agencies repeatedly and requested to speak to supervisors, but have not been given an opportunity and continue to be referrred to the other. In the mean time, i am driving a car with a significant safety hazard and if/when it is time to move back to the states, i will not be able to ship this car with outstanding recalls. I do not know who i can go to for assistance at this time as both vw and the overseas agency they refer me to are denying responsibility.

The issue is im having that i have an airbag warning on for a seat that no one hardly evers sits in. Im single so 98% of the time im alone in my vehicle so why would the passenger seat being displaying an issue. So, also at 66, 250 im experiencing an issue with needing a waterpump and thermostat which will cost 1100.00 that i don't have. Im reviewing all the issues you are having with these parts i did have mastertech for warrnaty so now its ran out at 60,000 miles. I feel this issue you are having with this vehicle needs to be repaired through vw. These are too soon for these issues to be occuring on a vehicle. Im disappointed because i baby my car over bumps, railroad crossings. I treat this vehicle like a mercedes.so, i would love to have feedback on what you can do to help me in this situation.

Steering wheel started making a clicking sound and controls and horn on the steering wheel no longer function.the air bag light came on immediately.car started havint this issue when first started and backing out of a parking space.

Turned the steering wheel of my car to the left, heard two crunching type sounds coming from the steering column, airbag error light immediately came on. I was driving at approximately 15 miles an hour.

I was parked on flat ground while starting my car this morning and noticed the air bag light on the dash board stayed light. Then i noticed the stereo control on the steering wheel was not light and did not work. At work i did some research and found that it could be the clock spring. When i got home from work i tested my horn to find that my horn does not work. My vehicle has 47773 miles and i bought it new. I'm almost positive it is the clock spring after all the research i have done. I feel vw should extend the recall past 2014 because it seems obvious that the issue continued into 2015 models.

Steering wheel started making ticking noises around 35k miles. Roughly 36k miles the air bag error light came on. Roughly 38k miles horn and all steering wheel buttons lost power. Clock spring problem obviously. Im told this vehicle was recalled from 2010 to 2014 models. Well obviously the issue was not fixed.

The contact owns a 2015 volkswagen passat. While the vehicle was stationary with the brake pedal depressed, the vehicle accelerated rapidly without warning. As a result, the contact's vehicle rear-ended another vehicle. The contact stated that the failure recurred a second time, but there was no crash. The air bags did not deploy in the first crash. A police report was not filed and there were no injuries. The vehicle was driven away from the scene. The paul clark volkswagen dealer was made aware of the failure, but could not diagnose the cause of the failure. The dealer test drove the vehicle in stop and go traffic and determined that the vehicle was in good working condition and was performing as designed. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that nothing was wrong with the vehicle. The vehicle was tested a second time after the failure recurred, but the dealer could not duplicate the failure. The failure mileage was 6,175.

Steering wheel began clicking when being turned. Air bag light came on. Horn and steering wheel controls are not working. Appears to be a failed clock spring.

Update june 2019 - now my car has 53,000 miles. My replaced clock spring has failed again. No horn, or steering wheel controls and the airbag light is on. This is 8 months/10 miles after i had it replaced. This is a safety issue. I am requesting that dot nhtsa investigate a safety issue with clock spring part on my 2015 vw passat, which controls both the air bags and the horn. I purchased the car new in sept 2015. I started my car with 42,500 miles and the airbag light came on and stayed on. The vehicle was stationary in a flat parking lot the first time i noticed the air bag light. Air bag error message and light illuminates. The steering wheel makes a cracking sound while turning in either direction. Also the buttons on the steering wheel do not work to include the horn.

All lights came on at same time, no notable reason given for issue. Just told costs associated aren't under warranty or recalls.

There was a noise like a overtightened spring from the steering column when turning at low speed. Right afterwards, the horn as well as steering wheel controls for audio and phone stopped working. Later the airbag warning light came on in dash. Possible failure of the clock spring. Failed at 59,600 miles.

Airbag warning light remains illuminated and warning chime constantly rings. This is at approximately 53,000 miles. When vehicle turned on light came on and has remained on.

Clock spring failed. If accident were to happen, airbags wouldn't deploy due to failed clock spring.very frustrating to spend $700 to repair the clock spring, considering vw has known about this issue for several years.

I experienced the same issue that the 2012-2013 model passats experienced in that the low beam died multiple times. I had to replace the headlight housing on the passenger three times after the original owner replaced it once. I took it to a volkswagen dealership and they finally figured out the root of the problem. The applied the same fix that was part of a 2012-2013 model recall and got the headlight working properly.

Around the 60,000 mile mark, the airbag light came on, and the horn, as well as the steering wheel controls, stopped working. Went to the dealership, where they figured it was the clockspring, which would cost nearly $700 to replace. Vw has prevously issued recalls for other models because of this very issue

Car start button will not start car. Car in park position, brakes are press and car start press but car does not start. There was no sound of the motor turning. Tries it two more times and on the third time it started.

Car was off and parked. Can't get key into ignition. Steering wheel is locked ignition lock cylinder. Ignition issues seem to be common in vw's

The contact owns a 2015 volkswagen passat. While driving 20 mph, the contact depressed the horn, but it failed to sound. The vehicle was taken to commonwealth volkswagen (1 commonwealth dr, lawrence, ma 01841). The dealer diagnosed that the clock spring needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and was unable to assist. The failure mileage was 51,000.

While turning out of a parking space at a slow speed i felt a stiffness in the turning wheel followed by a crunch and the airbag error light illuminating. Horn is not operational either in addition to other steering wheel controls.

Vehicle cluster illumination lights stopped working, not fuse or relay related. Main electrical harness malfunction. Major electrical diagnosis.

The contact owns a 2015 volkswagen passat. The contact stated that while driving at 55 mph, the engine stalled while the battery warning light illuminated. The vehicle was towed to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the computer software needed to be updated. The vehicle was repaired but the failure recurred numerous times. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 12,000.

I purchased the vehicle from empire auto used. I had an issue with the horn and they told me it was a recall on the clockspring. I decided to take it to the dealer itself for the service. The part has been replace like 3 times already. I consider this a safety issue. They can't figure out it keeps happening.please advice, the last service date was on 01/25/2021. At the present time i got no horn again.

I have personally inspected many 2015 volkswagen passat's and found an issue pertaining to the alarm system. When the vehicles alarm is set off, there is a split second way to bypass this and aid motor vehicle theft as well as theft of personal items in the vehicle. When the alarm has been sounded, an individual can depress the flasher button in the center of the dash and press it once more to shut the emergency flashers off, this will bypass and deactivate the vehicles factory alarm system, thus opening the vehicle up to a higher potential of theft. With no alarm sounded, an individual will have a vast amount of time to either steal the motor vehicle, steal person possessions, or motor vehicle parts. I am in the new england area and unsure if any other areas or models are affected.

The contact owns a 2015 volkswagen passat. When the contact started the vehicle, the check engine warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed and the following codes appeared: (u1123-0017178 data bus error, p0441-0021406 evap ignition control system incorrect purge, p0456 evap system small leak, and p0303 cylinder #3 misfire). The vehicle was not repaired due to the cost. In addition, the front driver side window failed to function. The vehicle was taken to nemer volkswagen (550 troy schenectady rd, latham, ny 12110, phone number: (518) 512-0024) where it was diagnosed that the window motor failed due to overheating. The dealer stated that this was a common issue among all volkswagens and nothing could be done. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and stated that nothing could be done because the warranty ended. The approximate failure mileage was 43,900.

The contact owns a 2015 volkswagen passat. While driving 65 mph on different occasions, the engine turned off while the vehicle was still engaged in drive. Also, the engine power control, battery, and check engine warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the contact's residence. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or independent mechanic for diagnostic testing or repairs. The vin was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 17v509000 (fuel system, gasoline). The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 81,600.

There was a noise like a overtightened spring from the steering column when turning at low speed. Right afterwards, the horn as well as steering wheel controls for audio and phone stopped working. Later the airbag warning light came on in dash. Possible failure of the clock spring. Failed at 59,600 miles.

My dpf sensors melted while driving, almost causing me to crash as the car lost power while driving speed limit (70mph) and suddenly went down to 45mph. Dealer replaced sensors, but problem was not fixed.

The contact owns a 2015 volkswagen passat. The contact stated that the air bag indicator illuminated and remained lit. The contact also stated that the horn did not work. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The dealer was not called. The manufacturer was made aware of the failures and referred the contact to nhtsa. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 94,000.

The contact's daughter owns a 2015 volkswagen passat. The contact stated that the key would not insert into the ignition. Camelback volkswagen (1499 e camelback rd, phoenix, az 85014,(602) 648-9181) was contacted and stated that the ignition needed to be replaced and the warranty expired. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 45,000.

All lights came on at same time, no notable reason given for issue. Just told costs associated aren't under warranty or recalls.

Horn, steering wheel buttons, power steering and driver side airbag are not working as a result of a faulty clock spring.

Recently my 2015 vw passat stalled while stopped at a red light. Dealer advised that it was giving codes for a malfunctioning air intake absolute pressure sensor. After it was replaced under warranty, the engine continued to run very rough and seemed to be sluggish. On taking it back to the dealer i have been advised that the code for the absolute pressure sensor has reappeared and vw suspects that it is an engine electrical harness problem which is due for replacement. Additionally, the esc light lit up on the dashboard one evening and stayed on for about an hour and went away after the engine had been turned off for about an hour. Based on other complaints i read, there appears to be a pattern in such malfunctions - either electrical or computer-related. If the car were to stall or go out of control in full traffic, it could lead to a potentially life-threatening situation.

The contact owns a 2015 volkswagen passat. The contact stated that the vehicle veered to the right without warning at 25 mph. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where they diagnosed that the vehicle alignment was not proper. The vehicle was repaired however the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 380.

I received a recall notice pertaining to a faulty camshaft that's lobe could shear off and disable the power braking system. Recall 23r1 nhtsa15v705. "..could lead to a crash without warning". They also state that the replacement part will not be available until march '16 now my wife and daughter refuse to drive in the care knowing that the brakes could lose power without warning. I think this is ridiculous to allow people to continue to drive defective cars knowing a potentially serious crash could occur.

The contact owns a 2015 volkswagen passat. The contact stated that the vehicle decelerated on its own. On another occasion, while attempting to accelerate from a red light, the front tires spun and the vehicle did not move. The body of the vehicle shook. After a while, the contact was able to drive home safely. The contact stated that the traction and check engine warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that spark plugs #2 and #3 misfired. The vehicle was also driven to an auto repair shop, but was not repaired. The manufacturer and dealer were not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 64,583.

I was driving on flat paved road at speed of 25-30 mph when suddenly the rpm surged from 1 to 4, engine revved, made loud high pitch whine for several mins.i was not accelerating, only following another vehicle ahead. I was going to pull off the road and turn off the ignition, when this stopped & continued driving normally and noted the rpm was back to near 1. No panel or engine lights came on.

I was driving on my way to take my children to school when the vehicle started to shake and sputter and it stalled out just before i was going to drive through a busy intersection. I put the car in park and turned it on and it started to sputter as i put it in drive and depressed the gas pedal the car would not move. I turned off the car twice until it started up again and i was able to drive just down the street to a safe place. The car started to shake it started to smell funny. I had the vehicle towed to the dealership where diagnostics were run and test drove however the vw dealership said there was nothing wrong with the car. I do have to add that the batter light came on but everything else on the vehicle dashboard was functioning. This is the 2nd time this has happened and i've only had the vehicle for a year.

The contact owns a 2015 volkswagen passat. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 15v705000 (engine and engine cooling, service brakes, hydraulic); however, the part to do the repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure.

I don't drive my car often as i work from home and travel out of town all the time. I only have 16k miles on my car despite of owning it for 3 and a half years. Recently, the check engine sign showed up on the dashboard. The issue came out to be with the failed bank 1 oxygen sensor 1. It's pretty rare for a car with less mileage to have such issues. As i'm over the three year mark, the fix was not covered under warranty.

The malfunction indicator lamp illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the camshaft lobe sheared off and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. After the repair, the vehicle was driven and fumes of smoke appeared from the hood of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the gasket and the vacuum pump failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The vin was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 15v705000 (engine and engine cooling, service brakes, hydraulic). The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. When you accelerate the automobile the car hesitates up to 10 seconds and looses power, power returns after the 1 through 10 seconds.this happens at various points; on rolling highway while making a pass of another car; changing lanes on the highway and accelerating, at dead stop from either a stop sign or stop light. I happens in city driving, local streets and just about anywhere one drives and occurs as hesitation for 1 to 10 seconds, the rpm's drop from where ever they are originally to almost zero, but the car does not stall, once the accelerator is undepressed it comes back to normal.these conditions above can cause a serious condition, such as a major collision with another or more than one car and could result in a fatal accident. This hesitation has happened 35 times since 07/06/2015, and still is occurring.

The contact owns a 2015 volkswagen passat. The contact stated that the brakes and engine failed. Car is burning excessive oil within 3,000 miles after oil change

Heater not heating as should.heater core seems to plugged, similar to tsb 80-15-04 on earlier models.vw does not have a tsb or campaign to address. This could impact visibility in the winter time.

I bought this vehicle at drivetime in pittsburgh (north hills) with 36,000 miles. The engine had a loud sound from the moment that i took it off the lot. I was told "that is how vws sound". Progressively it has got worse, now i have an estimate to replace a timing chain and camshaft with only 82,987 miles. This is insane. It has always been bad, and i am furious.

On may 4th 2021 start button was replaced. While driving back the car from the dealer, car started to idle violently. Same thing happened the next day. So i drove it to the dealer. Service manager requested a mechanic to drive the car around and this time we could not reproduce the problem. Instead of running any diagnostics, service manager asked me to leave. Then for past 3 months this problem has been happening on and off. For past 3 days the car started to shake violently at lights (awaiting green signal) and esc warning started to appear on the dash board. Today i took it to the dealer and they suggested me to change intake cam shaft etc with a total estimate of $ 5000.00 before the change of start button this car ran just fine.

While braking on a hill the passat made a clunking sound and a wrench service light illuminated. The brakes become soft and do not respond as quickly as before. In addition, when reversing, the brake pedal will become non responsive while the calipers hold the car in place. I am unable to move the car until i place it back in park and try again.

The contact owns a 2015 volkswagen passat. While driving 65 mph on different occasions, the engine turned off while the vehicle was still engaged in drive. Timing chain skipped. 82,000 miles on the car. When it was stationary it would not start.

Transmission leaking major car randomly shut off while in drive while stopped in traffic rough idling. Can cause an accident if there's busy traffic on major side street and you not paying attention

In december of 2015,2 months after buying car, while driving my epc light came on my car had a sudden loss of power, shuddered, and stalled. I almost caused an accident when i pulled out onto the highway and could not increase speed.fast enough. I called the vw dealership where i purchased the car and they said the car has to come in to be checked. After 2 hours of diagnostics, and they actually called volkswagen of america re the problem. They decided that it was a connectivity issue and that they had to replace the whole wiring harness, the car has to be towed in as driving could be dangerous. Also a recall nhtsa# 15v705 just came in the mail about recall 23r1. There are a potential 3 other recalls on the vw 2015 passat.

The contact leased a 2015 volkswagen passat. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 15v705000 (engine and engine cooling, service brakes, hydraulic). The dealer was unable to determine when the parts would become available to schedule the recall repair appointment. The manufacturer was unable to provide a specific date that the parts would be sent to the dealer. The contact had not experienced a failure. Vin tool confirms parts not available.

Car lost power while driving. Almost caused crash, as i was accelerating and sudden loss of power with cars coming. Car would not rev over 2k rpm, and took about 2 minutes to get to 45mph.dealer diagnosed car and said high pressure fuel pump was bad. They changed that, fuel filter, and cleaned diesel tank.

Oil consumption. The car now has about 122,000 miles in it but at about 1000,000 miles the car was down 1& 1/2 quarts of oil within 5000 miles since then it has gotten worse. Ian now adding a quart of oil at 3,000 miles and the oil light is coming on.i have only ever brought the car to vw for all service including oil changes on regular schedule according to dealer.

With no warning car would not brake . Brake was stiff and would not go down , emergency brake had to be used which could of caused the car to spin out. This car was serviced for the matter at hand . This situation should never had happened it was hazardous ,life threating , and a total safety fail. My family and i were at riskbecause of this!

I got a recall notice regarding the cam issue with this vehicle. They are tell me the fix is to change the software in the ecm. However doing so will change the timing on my car which will affect the performance, gas mileage and emission that my pzev car puts out. Vw refuses to give me a straight answer on what they are changing. I believe that said changes will cause my vechile to pollute more and get worse mileage as they must be adjusting the timing to change the amount of vacuum the cam shaft makes.

Previously car was recalled in march due to camshaft & was told it was good; hence the following: i was traveling on loop 303 at 65 mph, then on bell road at 45 mph, then turned into my community of sun city grand at 25 mph when brakes failed approx 3 streets from my home

My heater core is bad.there was a previous recall on older passat models, but for 2015 it is not included.i had to pay $871 to have my heater core replaced, as it started to leak coolant in my car. One of the hoses going to my firewall also busted, so it had to be changed. The car was leaking lots of coolant from under the car too.on 9/11 after they supposedly fixed it on 9/07/19, my low coolant light turned on.i was near dealer, so they said they would look at it.they think it had an air bubble that came out, which made my coolant light come on. They topped it off.dealer said they changed my heater core, but i still have no heat inside my car.taking back 9/23 to have car looked at.

My vehicle had vw cam shaft safety recall 23r1 done and i started have driving issues erratic acceleration, clucking of transmission. The main problem is a 3+ second delay in the transmission when on a slight or more of an incline. If you depress the accelerator the car starts with a jerk, if you add making a turn it sometimes the vehicle spins the wheels and takes off.i have been to the bbb and the arbitrator felt unsafe riding in the vehicle. To replace my vehicle vw wants a $5000 out lay of cash for a problem they know existed (i have the bbb hearing recording where the rep states that the vehicle does not drive the same as it did before the update). I had no issues before the update and now i have an unsafe vehicle. The correct repair should have been a new cam shaft not reducing the torque of the motor and causing problems in some vehicles.i am writing to you because they should have never returned vehicles back to customers knowing they changed the way the vehicle runs.when my vehicle was in for repairs and i drove a 2016 passat and a 2016 jetta they had no issues. When they asked me to drive a vehicle the same as mine 2015 passat limited it drove the same way.again i don't fell safe in the vehicle and had to rent a vehicle to drive up to new york to attend my fathers funeral.thank you[xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

It was twice when i heard a loud noice when i turn the engine on and and placing the car on reverce the noice last for more than 10 sec it happen once and then the second time was 2 days after i took it to inspection and they told me everyting look fine. And 11/20/2016 i started hearing a noice comming from the fron driver side wheel everytime i would turn or when i would step on the break and this happen evrytime im driving

The epa & carb required modifications to my diesel vehicle that on reading the technical details in the required paperwork, my vehicle actually pollutes slightly more after the fix!less mileage, less power, pollutes slightly more.contacted epa & carb many times to ask them to explain the emissions after their 'fix,' never returned email or call.noting other car makers using the same engine control unit from bosche, those cars were either made exempt or given a software fix (no hardware modifications like vw).it seems like vw drivers are being punished because vw lied.other car makers who got caught (all bosche edc17 engine computers), admitted to epa and just paid the fines immediately to epa, unlike vw.really, it seems like epa and carb are punishing the end consumer because vw lied.i get 300 to 400 fewer miles a tank, slightly worse emissions... What gives?good for fuel tax though.would like an investigation into corruption of carb and epa as it seems the second tdi fix is for government / california ego.please reference page 8 of the attached pdf and look at all the emissions, why did carb join some of the measurements together?what are they trying to hide?simple math will show you that the new measurements equal the old federal numbers once you join the same measurements together.what was accomplished?my car performs worse at 300 less miles a tank.yep, looking wholistically, 300 miles less per tank is actually worse for the environment yet great for fuel tax!

There is a faint but unmistakable smell of engine coolant coming from the front of the car near the radiator after the car gets to operating temperature. Coolant level is decreasing very slightly over the course of several months. There are no visible signs of coolant anywhere in the engine or on the ground. Car operates normally, does not overheat.

2015 volkswagen passat erratic shifting and brakes either too soft and won't stop quickly or they lock up and i can't move the vehicle. The problems are mostly in town driving, but once occurred in highway driving going up a hill while passing. In that incident the tachometer went from 2 to 5 as the car lurched forward. While at a stop light, the engine revved up as if i were pressing the accelerator, although i was not.after the camshaft was replaced, per the recall, the vehicle performed even more poorly than before.the vehicle began shaking violently.over the next week, the lurched at two different stops signs; the engine revved up to 5,000 rpm's without the accelerator pedal being pressed; the brake pedal locked up not allowing the vehicle to reverse; and several times, it took an extra amount of time and distance to stop the vehicle.

Vehicle cluster illumination lights stopped working, not fuse or relay related. Main electrical harness malfunction. Major electrical diagnosis.

Airbag sensor light came on suddenly. Took car to dealership and they stated that the sensor was bad and had to be replaced. 52k miles. Dealer wanted me to pay for issue but at the end vw will be covering the expense. Had an extended warranty that had no coverage.

On two occasions, the vehicle's engine stopped working while the car was moving. The first instance, the car stalled while moving at 5mph on an expressway exit ramp.it restarted after 30 minutes (blocking traffic for that period of time).when attempting to restart, the motor would turn over, but the engine would not start - as if there was no gasoline.the second stall occurred while driving on an expressway at 55mph.in that case there was again a sudden loss of all power.however, the vehicle would not restart.the car was taken to a dealer on both occasions.the dealer replaced the batter on the first visit. On the second visit, the dealer claimed that there were fault codes related to the high pressure fuel rail that needed to be reset.

The contact owns a 2015 volkswagen passat. While driving at approximately 70 mph, the fuel gauge provided inaccurate reading levels. The failure recurred numerous times. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vin was not provided. The approximate failure mileage was 6,000.

Fuel filler door opens intermittently. Not good when attempting to fill car with gas, and the door won't open. There is no manual release for this, and you would have to break parts to get to the fuel filler cap.

The contact owns a 2015 volkswagen passat. The contact stated while driving at 45 mph, the vehicle stalled with the check engine warning light along with several other unknown warning lights. The vehicle was taken to valley auto world volkswagen (3810 sycamore dairy rd, fayetteville, nc 28303) where the vehicle was diagnosed with a fuel pump failure. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure recurred.the manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 91,344.

I purchased a volkswagen passat diesel and decided to keep it even after the whole diesel scandal. Two months after the second part of the "fix" my check engine light comes on so i decided to take it to the dealership because my warranty was extended through the whole diesel lawsuit. I was told that my high pressure fuel pump failed because of bad diesel. I asked the service center how they determined my bad diesel was tested and they demonstrated a vw approved special tool with a box that had a smiley face and frown face emoji. The repair facility advised me that they could't perform the repairs under warranty because of the poor quality of the diesel. I called volkswagen of america and got the run around. I had to use my vehicle's car insurance to cover the $7400 repair bill. As a ten year veteran volkswagen/audi technician i/we are well aware of the design flaw of this high pressure fuel pump. The pump fails and sends metal fragments throughout the entire fuel system all the way back to the fuel tank. I would be ok replacing a $800 high pressure fuel pump but this design allows the metal from the high pressure fuel pump which is driven by the timing belt to recirculate back into the tank and further contaminate the entire system and not to mention the four fuel injectors at $500 a piece (times four). I called the volkswagen diesel settlement line and explained my frustration and even made the person who answered the phone laugh with the whole smiley face and frown face tester. I am a factory trained technician and even i don't understand the logic behind this, give me percentages and tolerances which i can understand. Unfortunately this will be my last volkswagen i will ever purchase i know this doesn't matter much to vw but i will be definitely spreading the word.

Vehicle lost power and stopped. Would not restart. Miller oil co. Tested fuel in tank with no issue.vw of america tested fuel in car and found lubricity wear diameter scaring of 557 micro meters 37 micro meters out of spec. $10k to replace fuel system.

Engine failure due to fuel system failure.during driving complete engine shutdown. Will not restart, vehicle towed to dealership. This happened a second time within 2000 miles. Dealer states contaminated fuel both instances. Fuel was purchased at two separate gas stations each time. Costing 7000 dollars in repairs for each instance.

Timing chain elongated heard light noise and around 60000 miles i have been taking it to dealer i even asked them to let me know what all is wrong with car at 90000 miles never said anything until switch dealer at 110000 miles tells me that it may fail at anytimeand will cause engine to loose power

Transmission leaking major car randomly shut off while in drive while stopped in traffic rough idling. Can cause an accident if there's busy traffic on major side street and you not paying attention

There has been numerous of times where my car has lost power during acceleration.

Sluggish, hesitates, will not accelerate uphill.codes: p039b, p93af, p03b9

Vehicle lost power while driving.several warning lights appear.this occurred three other times, even after they car had been in for repair.various engine parts have been replaced, such the turbo kit, turbo charger, glow plugs.the last incident occurred on dec 5 after picking the vehicle up and assured that it was fully repaired.while exiting the dealership, the car lost power and i was almost t-boned.the dealer continues to replace parts on the advice of the vw regional service manager.yet we have serious concerns about the safety of the vehicle when in motion.they have put more miles on it than we have.

The contact owns a 2015 volkswagen passat. While in park with the emergency brake engaged, the vehicle rolled away in reverse and crashed into a tree. The air bags failed to deploy. A police report was not filed. There were no passengers in the vehicle when the failure occurred. The vehicle was driven to the contact's residence and was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 13,000.

My daughter was driving her 2015 vw passat and car was operating fine until turning left onto county highway off of state highway. After turning, car would not shift out of gear it was in; the engine just revved higher rpms. Top speed was approximately 30 mph. The intersection she was turning at is a very busy one.

Seatlbelt warning light and indicator sound off (alarm or beeping sound with light) without cause.it's the same sounds as though you're not wearing a seatbelt. Happens while driving intermittently.

Airbag warning light remains illuminated and warning chime constantly rings. This is at approximately 53,000 miles. When vehicle turned on light came on and has remained on.

Volkwagen passenger seat registers a passenger occupying the seat when a cell phone is placed on the middle part of the seat. Vw regional manager and authorized dealer state car is not showing fault codes, and therefore cannot be repaired. This creates a number of concerns. First, is the seat belt sensor so sensitive that it is sensing the small weight of the phone? (5.04 ounces (143 grams)) or is the nfc or cellular modem of the phone interfering with the sensor? in either case, this potentially could cause an airbag to deploy when the seat is unoccupied, or worse, not deploy when it should.

Previously car was recalled in march due to camshaft & was told it was good; hence the following: i was traveling on loop 303 at 65 mph, then on bell road at 45 mph, then turned into my community of sun city grand at 25 mph when brakes failed approx 3 streets from my home

The contact owns a 2015 volkswagen passat. While driving 20 mph, the brake pedal was depressed and failed to repond. The contact mentioned that the emergency brake was used to stop the vehicle. The approximate failure mileage was 5,700.

Antilock brakes caused abrupt breaking, coming to a forcefulstop and causing injury to the driver and passenger. This happened at low and high speeds creating unsafe driving conditions for the family. Last experienced on feb 3, 2017

I bought a 2015 passat wolfsburg edition in february of 2015. Within the first 200 miles vehicle was shimmying when brakes were applied. Dealer refused to replace the brakes under the warranty saying its wear and tear. I called vwa they advised dealer and the rotors were replaced. Not even two weeks after brakes start squealing. I return to dealership and get told its nothing. Brakes continued to squeal until i had them replaced somewhere else at 26350 miles. However while brakes were squealing and even after being replaced..vehicle bas developed a chirp on both hubs when vehicle is turned and or accelerated from a stand still. Vehicle has 27000 miles on it. There's no reason it should be having these issues. I bought the vehicle at valley auto world in fayetteville nc. Also my front suspension is making noise when hitting certain bumps. Steering still has shimmy when driving. I need my repaired and 100% safety guaranteed or i will seek federal legal assistance.

After a brake job with the replacement of brake fluid, the brake pedal is soft even after re-bleeding.two methods were used, pressurized and new fluid fed through the reservoir tank and then manually with two people replacing the fluid in the reservoir. Working on resolution. First brake replacement at about 40,000 miles.

While exiting highway and traveling at near highway speeds, the epc light illuminated on the dashboard. Seconds later the braking system failed. I was forced to veer from crashing into the vehicle in front of me. I then put the car in neutral and pull on the emergency brake handle until i brought the car to a complete stop.

While driving approximately 55 mph, the brake pedal was depressed, but the vehicle hesitated to stop. The contact had to apply excessive pressure to the brake pedal in order for the brakes to work effectively. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The failure recurred. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 43,000.

Nhtsa campaign id: 15v705000, manufacturer recall number: 23r1purchased the vehicle and was told by many mechanics the brake issues or softness currently experiencing is due to a faulty brake master cylinder. Car has 49k miles. Spent more than 1500.00 on brake new brake rotors and pads, as well brake fluid flush as recommended, and vehicle still has difficulty coming to a stop. There are days is brakes ok as colder days, and hotter days it just sinks to the floor. Vehicle makes scraping noise when coming to a stop. The brake would stay stuck when on a hill. Would have to accelerate the vehicle to move it.

The contact owns a 2015 volkswagen passat. The contact stated that the brakes and engine failed. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 15v705000 (engine and engine cooling, service brakes, hydraulic) however, the part to do the repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

The contact owns a 2015 volkswagen passat. While driving approximately 60 mph and depressing the brake pedal, the vehicle failed to respond after the ecp and the engine warning indicators illuminated. The brake pedal was depressed several times in order for it to respond. The vehicle was restarted, but the failure persisted. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the main shaft was twisted and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 3,600.

The emergency brake is locked on (in place) while the handle is down in the car causing the car to drive unbeknown to the driver that the brake is still on thus causing excess damage to the brake, caliper and rotor.i was told by my mechanic that it has been a problem with vw passatts and jettas and that the parts are scarce because of that.the amount to repair was greater than $600.if i had taken it to the vw dealership they were going to charge me double that.

Volkswagen of san bernadino, california was made aware of the recall and stated that the vehicle did not need to be repaired per the recall. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and stated that the government issued recalls. If the recall repair did not need to be performed, the government would close the recall. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect. Vin tool confirms parts not available.

My pregnant fiance, her 3yr old son and i were driving on a city street approximately 35mph. A vehicle cut off the truck in front of me and the truck in front of me slammed on their beaks, which made me slam on mine. I slammed on my breaks and it did not stop my vehicle, i tried to use my emergency break and did not stop the vehicle so i swerved over as much as possible to avoid my fiance's passenger side from being hit. I rear ended the truck in front of me. Everyone seatbelts locked except my fiance's. She hit the dash, insurance company totaled the vehicle and the vehicle manufacturers customer service stated it did not get hit hard enough to deploy airbags. There has been a couple times previous to the accident that i would be at a red light with my break pedal all the way down and all the sudden i would start to slowly roll, with the break pedal still all the way down.

While driving the epc light came on and 5 minutes later while using the brakes they became stiffer and then within 30 seconds locked up completely so that you could not press down on the brakes at all and they were not functioning. I had to run the stop sign and veer off into the grass to slow car down and pull emergency brake.

The contact owns a 2015 volkswagen passat. While driving at 65 mph, the brake pedal was depressed but it took a greater amount of time to stop the vehicle. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired.

Factory recall but original notification from dec-2015 had no resolve or date for resolve. However, when i contacted the vw factory they advised me i could go ahead and make an appointment to resolve at my own expense?????vw claims something called the sintered cam has the potential to shear off from the camshaft. It sure sounds mechanical to me but vw claims to help correct the this defect they will update our on board computer software???? huh....... We do not trust vw and wonder if there is another motive for wanting to access our on board computer????? kinda like the diesel vehicles having tweeked software to deceive smog checks???? help.....

Abs module failure at 56,000 miles. Warning lights illuminated on dashboard are abs, brakes, stability control, tire pressure and airbags. Local vw dealer inspected and confirmed failure of abs module.

Steering wheel started making a clicking sound and controls and horn on the steering wheel no longer function.the air bag light came on immediately.car started havint this issue when first started and backing out of a parking space.

Excessive inside front tire wear can lead to tire failure.font end can not be properly aligned because there is no camber adjustment.tires showed excessive wear at 10,000 miles. Tires were rotated and front end realigned and these tires have the inside about wore out after 16,000 miles.the wear seems to occur when making sharp turns when exiting on the freeway cloverleaf.the inside wear pattern will be a dark black from scuffing on the turn.

Horn, steering wheel buttons, power steering and driver side airbag are not working as a result of a faulty clock spring.

Air bag error message and light illuminates. The steering wheel makes a cracking sound while turning in either direction. Also the buttons on the steering wheel do not work to include the horn.

Airbag light came on while turning; vw dealership diagnosed as failed clockspring

Air bag sensor has gone on 3 times while under warranty. Each time the dealership fixed it.it has gone off again now that i am @37,000 miles and out of warranty. The steering wheel is making a cranking noise. The horn does not work, the switches on the horn do not work.

Clock spring failed. If accident were to happen, airbags wouldn't deploy due to failed clock spring.very frustrating to spend $700 to repair the clock spring, considering vw has known about this issue for several years.

For about 2 years my vehicle has been vibrating at the steering wheel. I have replaced the tires twice, have done multiple tire balances, rotations, road force tests, alignments, and have requested multiple inspections of all components associated with the steering assembly. All possible solutions have apparently been insufficient or they have been found inconclusive. The technicians at the dealership have been unable to identify the cause of the vibration. Due to this, my steering wheel has continued to vibrate for about 2 years. The vibration occurs around highway speeds as well as when braking. I have recorded multiple videos that show this as well as having testament from multiple people, including dealership staff. The vibration has slowly but surely gotten worse over time and i am afraid that something will break and cause me to have an accident or severe injuries.

All lights came on at same time, no notable reason given for issue. Just told costs associated aren't under warranty or recalls.

Fuel filler door opens intermittently. Not good when attempting to fill car with gas, and the door won't open. There is no manual release for this, and you would have to break parts to get to the fuel filler cap.

Driver's side mirror becomes loose and a loud whistling sound is made when driving over 30 miles per hour. This is a manufacturer defect as it just started happening a couple of weeks after purchasing the car as a certified used vehicle. The dealer told me the warranty would not cover it. The door panel would have to be removed and a new mirror installed with no guarantee that it would not do it after replacement.

Rear passenger side wheel area started making a lot of noise. After tire was taken off, found rear coil spring broken and dislodged from proper location. Then looked at drivers side rear coil spring and it was still in proper location but broken.found replacement part which also fit vw beetle and vw jettawhich are much smaller cars than a passat. Vw does not offer heavier springs.

The contact owns a 2015 volkswagen passat. While driving approximately 35 mph, the contact heard a lot of unusual noises coming from the rear of the vehicle without warning. The contact stated that the vehicle was leaning towards the driver's side. The vehicle was taken to fox valley volkswagen schaumburg (847-839-8101, located at 1000 east golf road, schaumburg, il 60173) where it was diagnosed that the rear coil spring was fractured and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 17,000.

On the way to the airport pulling out into traffics.i heard a pound noice and my whole car vibrated.it was like a sting loud and tension filled. When we came back to have it looked at and my dealership they say it's a coil spring. Ive found recalls on the vw 2015-2019 but not the passat.well.the passat has the problem too please look into to this. Very disconcerting. I feel it is the same problem

At speed of over 65mph. Steering wheel starts to vibrate within 10minutes of driving on the highway. Keep returning to the dealer which says they have done all they can that should have correct the problem. But after they have tried for over 4 times to correct it. The issue still there.

I recently faced an issue with my volkswagen passat 2015 with the suspensions making clanking noise. I had it checked with the dealership and the issue turned out to be broken coil springs on the rear left side. I have own this car for three and a half years, but only have 16k miles on it. I rarely drive in snow as i work from home. A little exposure to snow have caused the coil springs to wear out. I have heard of recalls from nissan and honda in the past regarding a similar issue with coil springs. I'm sure other volkswagen owners are facing the same thing as i heard the service agent whispering that this happens with most of the volkswagen cars and he's surprised there hasn't been a recall for it yet. As i'm merely over the bumper warranty, i had to pay $800 out of pocket to replace the springs. I wish volkswagen made more reliable cars.

The contact was also informed that the coil springs installed on the vehicle were not made to support the weight of the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified. The approximate failure mileage was 68,000. The vin was not available.

On 10-23-2015, vw announced a recall on a series of cars, which included one on their sales lot. On 10-31-2015, perry vw, san luis obispo, ca sold me the vehicle that had the recall, without fixing the recall part. I want to file an official complaint on the deceptive practices of perry vw. I have my sales contract dated 10-31-2015, and your recall number: 15v705 (sintered cam). Vw corporate failed to notify their own dealers until nov 4, 2015. My understanding is that selling an un-repaired recalled vehicle is against federal law.

Rodents are eating wiring in car due to soy plastics. This could result in car becoming nonoperational while driving, which could result in injury or death. The united states code for motor vehicle safety (title 49, chapter 301) defines motor vehicle safety as "the performance of a motor vehicle or motor vehicle equipment in a way that protects the public against unreasonable risk of accidents occurring because of the design, construction, or performance of a motor vehicle, and against unreasonable risk of death or injury in an accident, and includes nonoperational safety of a motor vehicle." a defect includes "any defect in performance, construction, a component, or material of a motor vehicle or motor vehicle equipment." generally, a safety defect is defined as a problem that exists in a motor vehicle or item of motor vehicle equipment that:poses an risk to motor vehicle safety andmay exist in a group of vehicles of the same design or manufacturemay exist in a group of items of equipment of the same type and manufacture.please stop automakers from using plant based wiring immediately. My sunroof shattered, while open, for an unknown reason. I was just driving and it popped. I looked up and the glass shattered.i found there is a class action lawsuit in ca.https://www.law360.com/cases/59c2eb8d55d0ee381e000001?article_sidebar=1the person who repaired the roof stated it did not appear anything hit it, if anything it shattered around the glue area.

Timing chain elongated heard light noise and around 60000 miles i have been taking it to dealer i even asked them to let me know what all is wrong with car at 90000 miles never said anything until switch dealer at 110000 miles tells me that it may fail at anytimeand will cause engine to loose power

This is regarding the air conditioner (ac). I purchased a used 2015 volkswagen passat from pearson chrysler jeep dodge on feb.16, 2020; odometer reading was 54454.i did not test driver the car before i purchased it. That was a big mistake. When i picked the car up a few days later, the salesperson turned the ac on high speed. I turned it off and he turned it back on. I turned it off again. It appeared he was hiding something. It was february. I did not need the ac on. My son and i was quick to notice this noise that sounded like a hot water heater noise. Description:the noise is like a small hot water heater makes when the water temperature is cool and the heater comes on to increase the temperature so that the water is hot again. The noise concerning the ac continued. In march, pearson had volkswagen kia service my vehicle. According to the invoice from wb volkswagen kia, they installed a/c dye. The noise was very low. In may i noticed the ac was not cooling my car.i dropped my caroff at pearson service dept.on june 3 &june 10. Pearson invoice stated, "sublet vehicle to wb volkswagen, vw. Found condenser faulty, volkswagen evacuated a/c system, removed and replaced condenser, recharged a/c to proper level. Rechecked. Ok"the noise is still there. I find this interesting, the invoice in march was documented from volkswagen kia and the second invoice from pearson for the record, a service rep. In the service dept. At pearson told me that they do not work on foreign car. I would like the noise to cease pertaining to the air conditioner. I have never had this issue with air conditioner in cars that owned in the past.

Steering wheel started making a clicking sound and controls and horn on the steering wheel no longer function.the air bag light came on immediately.car started havint this issue when first started and backing out of a parking space.

Backup camera screen goes almost black after 3to5seconds.

12/28/15 i was on the onramp to the 91 freeway going about 15mph headed to work and all of a sudden i hear a boom! naturally i duck thinking what the heck just blew up. I looked up and saw my sunroof shattered. I started thinking did a boulder just fall on me? but being that it was just after the christmas holiday the freeway was pretty much deserted. All i knew was that little shards of glass are now in my scalp and glass is flying out on the freeway. I took my vehicle to the dealership and they said that it wasn't covered by my extended warranty and they had never heard of a sunroof shattering before and that it had to be from a rock or an impact break (whatever that means). They told me to contact my insurance company and file a claim which i now have to come out of pocket with a $500 deductible. After researching this subject i am puzzled as to why there are no recalls on record for this which is clearly a defect but no one wants to take responsibility except 1 manufacturer. I guess vehicle corporations are waiting for a fatality before they accept this as a defect or a class action suit is filed.i would like to know know is going to reimburse me for my insurance deductible.

Air bag sensor has gone on 3 times while under warranty. Each time the dealership fixed it.it has gone off again now that i am @37,000 miles and out of warranty. The steering wheel is making a cranking noise. The horn does not work, the switches on the horn do not work.

Backup camera does not come on until you have already backed into the street.you put the car in reverse, back up, and about the time you go to put the transmission in drive, the backup camera comes on.volkswagen has been telling me for over a year that there is no update for this problem.i bought the sel model specificly for the backup camera and the gps unit.

Vehicle jumping while in park concerned with several recalls on line: 24bi fuel system, 72f1- seats and 23r1 engine recall

Push to start engine failing to start car

Ac not working under 70k miles

Takata recall the recall i have on my car is the emission recall from a software that was installed from the factory, i am unable to get what i want because almost nobody will take it,i bought it in august or so and the car was advertised as clean diesel it isn't the car i bought and i want nothing to do with it anymore. Your recall statementstates if your car has been recalled, the manufacturer will usually repair it at a local dealership. In rare instances when a manufacturer determines that a problem is too expensive to repair, it may replace the vehicle or refund your purchase price minus an amount to cover depreciation."i feel cheated and that i can't get what i want. I need a truck and can't do anything because it's barely valued at 12,000 dollars and when i bought it the msrp was $28,475. I traded my truck in on the car and some negative equity rolled over. The recall will result in a lose of mpg and power, and it has be trade the name as clean diesel already.i've spoken to vw credit and they can't help me and i called vw group of america and they told me they couldn't do anything as well.vw has given out a care package to every victim, it consist of a 500 dollar card that can only be used at vw and a 500 dollar prepaid visa. This isn't enough to do anything with. I want out of the car and out of vw, i'm irritated that they won't do anything for the 11 million victims and refuse to do anything about the angry customers. September 18th recall was announced and to this day there is still no solution to this problem, and please help me and help the other north carolina residents that are in the same irritating incident. Thank uou.

On the 2015 vw passat tdi the horn will not function if the key isn't in the ignition. Therefore, if a woman or child is in distress and need to alert someone for help that person can not do so in the most efficient manner which would be to blow the horn to alert the public or law enforcement of an incident.example: if a kid gets locked in a car they cant blow the horn to notify someone.example: if a women is being attacked or threatened of a attack and drop her keys or is struggling with someone in her car she can't solicit help.

Clock spring failure, airbags off-line, horn inoperative, steering wheel controls inoperative

On 1/19/16 i experienced a serious issue while driving my 2015 vw passat.as i was pulling into a parking space after my 12-mile commute to work i applied the brakes.no stopping occurred, in fact i experienced a sudden unintended acceleration.while my foot remained on and continued to press the brake pedal, the engine revved and the car lurched forward.i attempted to put the car in neutral and tried to apply the emergency brake but was unsuccessful in stopping the vehicle.my care came to rest only after hitting the curb and a masonry wall/hand rail.once the vehicle came to a stop, i put the car in reverse to assess the damage.i assessed the damage to the front end and tried tor reposition the car in the parking space only to have the same eventoccur again. The following day i called the dealership to report the incident and was instructed to have the vehicle towed in for inspection.a loaner was provided.twenty-one days later, on 2/8/16 i received a call stating that no manufacturing faults were found and that vw will not agree to repair the damage or discuss any concerns related to lack of confidence in the vehicle.furthermore, when asked about arbitration, i was informed that my only recourse was calling vw corporate. When my husband called as instructed, we were informed that vw's position was decided based on their lack of manufacturer defects found. Vehicle remains at dealership.no inspection reports were offered, no damage reports or estimates provided.

I had recently scanned my vehicle with a diagnostic scanner because my window washers were not spraying to clear the windshield when manually activatedby the stalk. The code shows a short in the circuit somewhere between the stalk and the washer pump. I tried replacing the pump but same outcome no washer fluid would dispense this is a very big inconvenience mostly because where i live most commutes are part highway and part sideroads/ dirt roads, so things start to get dirty and visibility is dramatically reduced. Im really not trying to pay for a harness or to get the loom pulled apart to find the bug. To keep everything looking stock

I use my car regularly, and am not comfortable driving it in its current condition until then.
