Letter to encourage nhtsa to investigate airbag malfunctions in volkswagen autos made since 2001.*phwhile driving, the driver side curtain airbag and seat air bag deployed inadvertently.the consumer exited the vehicle and discovered there were dents on the vehicle, no objects in the road and no skid marks on the highway. The consumer and her daughter were not injured.the vehicle was inspected and it was discovered that a dent on the skid plate over the transmission was responsible for the air bag deployment.
Due to an electrical malfunction, the vehicle stalled, there was no power steering, speedometer, head lights, or tachometer function.
Emissions problems- the catalytic converter over heated and broke.the mass air flow meter and both o2 sensors had to be replaced. *mr
Brake light switch failed causing the brake lights not to work, the switch is on backorder.nlm

The back seat reclines allowing more trunk space, however when the seats are brought back upright the rear center seat belt jams tight and becomes inoperable, the belt was fixed once and failed again one month later, consumer has not had the belt repaired again.nlm
Passenger and drivers side power window lift mechanism broke causing the window to drop to the bottom and not roll up.nlm
