Car was traveling approximately 30mph on a suburban street and was broad sided on the drivers side. The impact area was drivers front tire and the a post. Car was declared total by insurance company. Concern is, the drivers door air bag did not deploy. This impact was strong enough to rip the a post in the middle and buckle it inward. The impact was before the door which should of triggered the airbag. The car that hit mine ripped the outer shell from the door and puncture a large hole in the lower front corner. The arm to protect the driver that is located in the door was also severely damaged. I had a body shop technician look at the air bag sensor which can be seen in the door and there is damage all around the sensor. Why wouldn't the air bag go off with such a hard impact so close to the driver in a small compact car??
The contact owns a 2015 volkswagen jetta. Whether the vehicle was parked or being driven, the passenger air bag warning indicator illuminated when the passenger seat was unoccupied. The vehicle was taken to lakeland volkswagen (209 s lake parker ave, lakeland, fl 33801, (863) 804-6160) where the cause of the failure was undetermined. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified and informed the contact that the vin was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 15v672000 (air bags). The approximate failure mileage was 42,000.
I was is a car accident that totaled my 2015 jetta tdi. The front end of my car was impacted to the point where the hood blocked my windshield and the engine itself was partially crushed. The airbags did not deploy. I sustained a concussion because my head hit the stearing wheel. This was a three car accident on a highway.
Driving on free way 210catching on ramp 5 s fre way both front and back left tires exploded on driver side airbags did not deployat inpact the modgile was defected i was so shoked scared but my sensor was on., ant the heat coming out of the dash board and steering and un sure confusion.
I have owned this used vehicle for 3 months. When attempting to apply the brake at low speed (10-15mph) the brake pedal stuck in place and would not go down. This brake failure resulted in an accident. During said accident, at low impact, the airbag was triggered to deploy. This leads me to believe the airbag or sensor is defective, as i have been in a much more serious accident with an older jetta that did not result in airbag deployment. I am at risk of having my vehicle totaled out because of these issues when it normally would be repairable.
The airbag light for the passenger seat indicates that a passenger is not there when there is. It will start blinking randomly, sometimes registering them and sometimes not. This happens while driving or while stationary.
The passenger airbag light stays off and on if i do not keep the seatbelt locked, even with no passenger. Thus occurs while i am driving and assume this is an electrical issue, safety issue, and potential airbag issue. This has been occurring off and on for over a year.
As the third car in a 4 car accident, it was the only one where airbags failed to deploy. Additionally it was the most damaged. The front drivers seat broke upon rear impact prior to the car being forced into the vehicle in front of me. I was stopped at the time.
2015 volkswagen jetta. Constituent writes requestingfor airbag on-off switch. *ld
The airbag light came on. Dealership says the airbag module controller 4m0959339a03a and passenger seat sensor are bad 5c6959340b.ordered new module, dealership asked for vin and said there is a service bulletin for part ordered. Maybe something wrong with it they said.the vehicle was in motion with no passengers when airbag light when on indicating malfunction.
My vehicle is displaying the exact defect described in nhtsa recall number 15v627000 for volkswagen's 2015 jetta. My vehicle was manufactured in november of 2014, which falls within the recall time frame. However, the manufacture refuses to make repairs because they have not included my car's vin number in the nhtsa recall. This issue can be observed when the vehicle is in motion, and when it is stationary. It has occurred in situations where the vehicle is on a city street and on a highway as well as turning. I don't know what else to do at this point, i just want my vehicle to be safe. Thank you.
Passenger seatoccupancy sensor is poorly designed and anything placed on the seat initiates the sensor and the fasten seatbelt light and gong. Items that cause this condition has been fast food, small dogs, paperwork, a cell phone on a charger, my cd case. I rented an identical vehicle from hertz and this issue did not happen. Looking into the problem online this has been a problem with many owners stretching back to 2011 model years.if the seat sensor sensessomething on it and there is a wreck both airbags will be deployed further risking the driver to flying debris. Dealer claims this is a normal situation. Since some vehicles are having this problem and other vw products are not i kinda doubt it.
I had my incedant on the free way, last night, still kind of shooken up. My tires blew on a speed limmitmph ran through pavement defect causingthe air bag censor has been triggered witch should of deployedthe bags to save me from possible injery my be death, thank god it was ok no one or auto was involved..
Key gets stuck in ignition when turning off the engine. This causes the car not to turn off in some instances.
The panic button on the key fob has no delay. If you push it one time, with very little pressure, the alarm goes off. I was stopped at a stop light and i stalled the engine with the manual transmission. I went to turn the key off and back on again to start the engine and since the panic button is on the side of the key (facing straight up, or down when in the ignition). The alarm started going off and the engine wouldn't start. I was holding back traffic, scrambling to figure out what had happened as the action was completely unintentional. This is a safety issue and needs to be addressed. Other key fobs i've had required pressing and holding the panic button for 1 or 2 seconds to activate it. Bad design of key fob, the button at least should be slightly recessed.

The passenger airbag light stays off and on if i do not keep the seatbelt locked, even with no passenger. Thus occurs while i am driving and assume this is an electrical issue, safety issue, and potential airbag issue. This has been occurring off and on for over a year.
Day-time running light, right-side (passenger side) bulb burned out, however when the bulb socket was removed, the plastic material had signs of heat damage/plastic material damage and the bulb could not be removed from the socket.the socket and bulb will need to be replaced.there was no recall listed for this issue within the nhtsa, however, the heat damage within the bulb socket is a concern.local vw dealer mentioned that there was no tsb or recall on this electrical part.socket and bulb replacement cost from the vw dealer is near $40.00.

Engine light is on 2015 jetta 1.8 turbo. Ecu 1 states code p05a0 active grille air shutter "a" stuck on. Volkswagon wants to charge me $900 to correct this sensor problem. Vehicle has 32,000 miles & was stationary when light came on. This is a defect in the sensor system. Should vw have to pay? why are consumers paying?
The window has a mind of its own. I went through the manual to troubleshoot it, worked fine for a day then right back to what it was before. Everything that has to do with the driverside door, expect to open from the inside just went haywire withno warning. The mirror defrost doesn't work and the outside door handle won't open any longer. When i turn it is now making a stage squealing noise. My car is only 4 years old. Should not have any of these issues.

The vehicle was driven to gossett volkswagen germantown (7420 winchester rd, memphis, tn 38125, (901) 405-4909) where the contact was informed that a new battery was needed for the key remote. The failure continued to occur after the battery was replaced. The dealer stated that the vehicle's battery needed to be replaced. Once the battery was replaced, the vehicle was able to start and operate properly. Days later, the contact stated that the vehicle would not start and the steering wheel seized without warning. The vehicle would onlyoperate when the contact drove in the emergency start feature mode, and the "no key" warning indicator would flash. The contact was able to resume normal driving; however, every time she touched a feature on the steering wheel, a pinging noise would sound and the speedometer would flash. The manufacturer was not notified of the failures. The vehicle had not been repaired. The failure mileage and vin were unknown.
The "start engine stop" button is living away on the letter n of engine, causing a metal blade to pierce the skin when the button is depressed to start or stop the car.
Vw dealer and mechanic admits to driving my car and verifying in person while driving that my car tires are shaking due to the suspension of the car and i should put luggage in the trunk to help smooth the ride or go with a larger wheel size..i feel very unsafe with family in my car. Electrical issue is a fuse keeps burning out due to an improper ground from both power plugs front and back seat.while driving the passenger door opened by itself while both hands were on the steering wheel.
Key gets stuck in ignition when turning off the engine.

Put car in park onconvenience store parking lot couldn't turn car off or remove key from ignition tried so many times.drove home parked car in garage tried to turn off .car still would not turn off. Finallydrove to dealer garage. Dealer said the ignition lockhousing had to be replaced.the work was performed. The job cost 577.25 dollars. I calledvolkswagen headquarters to discuss this repair since it is unusual to have to make such a repair and i had also learned that i have one recal on the car similarly related to not being able to turn the ignition off and remove the key. Volkswagen denied any relationship to this repair. Volkswagen also has not notified me of any recall on my car and stated that recall notices have not been issued , they have not determined what the a fix for the recall posting. I am convinced that this occurrence is a real safety issue as well as the proposed recall notice .mileage on car is 35,855 miles.
My charging ports quit working. It is not the fuse.
The vehicle had been stationary for about 6 hours then caught on fire from the engine throughout the whole vehicle. The fire department came and out the vehicle fire out but the whole from end of the vehicle to the inside and backseat was affect by the fire.
My key have been getting stuck in my ignition. I could not turn my car off. The only way to get the key out is to flick the key in the ignition for it to let go.

I parked at the store and the key got stuck in the ignition while the car is running preventing me from turning the car engine off . When he key gets stuck in the ignition switch with the engine running preventing you from turning the car engine off. Therefore you can't leave your car to go in the house , store or even to the bathroom. This will allows your car to be attractive to car theives when you must leave to get help. Needs a recall asap.
I bought my car in july 2015, new, from larry roesch dealer in chicago, after waiting 8 hours in the waiting room for them to "clean my car in the back shop"- while several other customers came and went with their new cars.after only a few thousand miles on my car, it needed to have a quart and half oil added to it and the oil light came on.i took it into the dealer and they said it was "normal".after i called the manufacturer to request a letter stating my car was clear and did not have any recall issues, i was told the letter could not be issued because there was, indeed, a recall issue which had to do with the camshaft.i was told this issue did not have a fix for it and would not have one until march 2016.i requested a letter stating it would be safe to drive the car with my children and family, but vw said they were not able to give such a letter stating that the model of the car was "safe to drive".i told them i was not comfortable driving a car that could potentially shut off while driving on the highway and causing injury or death to my family-- at that point, vw agreed to tow my car and to replace the camshaft (even though i was initially told by vw that the camshaft replacement would cause the very same issue).i received the vw jetta se 1.8t back from pugi dealers last thursday and was told there should not be any other problems.today, i drove half mile from my home to the laundry and when i returned to my car, the car would not start, the light indicator for "steering malfunction and engine issues" came on.i called vw and they have towed the car to pugi dealership, yet again, and i do not have a car - once again- to take my children to school and work, etc.there is a very obvious and serious issue with my car.it is not something to play with people's lives over, since vw told me it cannot be fixed and could potentially cause a crash.
Just seconds after the epc light came on (i didn't know what it meant) my brakes went out. The brake pedal was stiff and my car had no response in slowing down. Luckily i had been in a position where there was time and space to react and to slow down using the e brake. Just minutes earlier i had been on the highway, as well as in some city traffic - if i lost my brakes at any other moment things could have been deadly.vw ended up swapping out the entire engine. The camshaft had broken in half. I was told by the technician that this was related to some sort of recall issue they had in the past, but i don't know anything more than that.i'm very troubled that a less than 2-year-old car with 16k miles on it can have such a sudden and serious malfunction. Please advise and ensure this does not happen to anyone else.oh and to make things worse, i was on my honeymoon...
The major problem occurred shortly after my 30,000 mile check up, when my key got stuck in the ignition, and i could not turn the car off. I am aware this problem dates back to as early as 2012. I immediately contacted vw customer care since i was at approximately 36,400 miles to see if they would assist in replacing this part.in addition, i was charged 153.63 for the diagnosis.midday on september 21, 2018,i received a call from customer care denying my claim completely.i am aware that this is an ongoing problem, and should be under a recall status.i was also informed that vw has updated their ignition switch (replaced with an updated model number) so the replacement part will not cause problems.i feel like this was a ploy to get me to go to the vw dealership, so they may continue to profit over their past mistakes.i believe i have paid for something that should be covered under a recall or extended warranty.in addition, i had the battery fail at the 36,000 mile mark as well.i feel that i have had more trouble with this new car than any other car i have owned in the past, and i am not really thrilled as a first time vw owner.the consumer stated there was a recall issued for this particular failure. Due to the vin, this vehicle was not included on the recall.
The airbag light for the passenger seat indicates that a passenger is not there when there is. It will start blinking randomly, sometimes registering them and sometimes not. This happens while driving or while stationary.
Horn will not function below freezing ambient temperature; likely moisture inside has frozen the mechanism; works fine once ambient temperature has risen above 32*f
Ignition problem.is hard to turn off the car, they key keeps getting stuck.and i just bought the car 2 days ago.
The contact owns a 2015 volkswagen jetta. While driving 60 mph, the electronic power control warning light illuminated. The contact received a notification of nhtsa campaign number: 15v705000 (engine and engine cooling, service brakes, hydraulic); however, the part for the recall repair was not available. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the vehicle repair. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 8,000. Parts distribution disconnect.
The car will not turn off. The key is stuck in the ignition and will not turn to turn the vehicle off. The wheel is not locked.
My wiring harness was replaced as my car was in limp mode. 2 and half weeks later my light comes back on and after driving it to work one day it didn't feel right so i had it towed. At time of towing noticed i was leaking fluid. Turns out it was transmission fluid and i need a new transmission on a 5 year old car. This car has had 3 electrical problems and only one was a recall but each problem but the car in limp mode cause the transmission not to shift properly.
Ignition key gets stuck in ignition and will not turn off.both keys do the same thing.must be a common problem that vw has not dealt with.a simple google search andthe problem is common with the vw's.this first happen after parking and vehicle was stationary,
I purchased this vehicle less than one month ago and am concerned about the listed recalls.my vehicle falls within the specifications as listed on the recalls, however, my vehicle returns a search of no open recalls.my biggest concern is the fuel system recall.on four separate occasions, since i have owned the vehicle, i have smelled gasoline both while at an idle and just after turning off the ignition.your assistance with this matter is appreciated.
The contact owns a 2015 volkswagen jetta. While driving at various speeds, the contact grabbed a cellular phone out of the storage compartment in the middle console of the vehicle. I originally took my 2015 jetta se tsi certified car in to be serviced at the vw dealership because of the steering pin safety warning that was issued because the airbag light and steering light were on and it started having trouble starting and all kinds of instrument lights were showing.i was told i need to replace my battery which i did and they did an 24dr emissions recallto my car.i picked my car up and was told now i have a 'no key' code.i have since had nothing but trouble.i have to start my car in emergency start mode... Erghh.my car began bogging down.my car then began to randomly without warning flash the esc control light on, then epc light and then engine light.at the same time this is happening, no matter what speed i am going even interstate driving, the car will not accelerate.i had this happen and had to pull over coming out of a tunnel.i restarted and drove home with only the engine light on.i had my car then towed back to another vw dealership.theytested my car on the computer and i was told to replace the spark plugs for misfires which i did.they also noted the 'no key' code and diagnosed this as me needing a new body control module which i suspect definitely has something to do with the recall being performed either directly or indirectly. I returned to the original dealership who replaced my battery and performed the recall without my knowledge or consent. On the way to take my car to the dealership the same incident with my esc and engine light occurred. I pulled off the road and restarted it; this time the engine light didn't stay on. I arrive at the dealership and wait four hours to be told the diagnostics show no history of any incidents or impaired drivability. I was sent home feeling unsafe because even vw can't diagnose my vw. And it happened again after i left!this happens at speeds of 10, 30 or even 60 mph!!

My car had sudden engine failure with no external signs of trouble (oil level, belts, everything apparently ok).the car rumbled for a few seconds as i was pulling onto an exit ramp off a highway.as i went to pull to the side of the road, the check engine light came on.the manual instructed to try starting again but the car wouldn't.the vw service department i towed the car to first asked me on the phone, "is it a 1.8 liter turbo?"when i told them that it was, they told me they had no time to look at my car.since it was already en route being towed there, they very reluctantly took a superficial look and said the engine is locked up for no apparent reason at less than 90,000 miles.they began to immediately suggest further examination of the problem was going to be a waste of time and money by making statements, such as, "oh, it would cost at least $1200 just to open the engine to diagnose the problem and then it will most likely mean getting a new engine... And you're just looking at thousands...."them not wanting my 1.8l turbo in their garage, their resolution that the engine is a "goner" with just a superficial look, and their general mood of recommending i take no further repair action made me research this engine further.i found numerous people who all said, "oh, that.engine is crap! they all blow out under 100k miles!"that's when i called a vw expert i was referred to. He asked the same question, "is it a 1.8l turbo?"and then told me, "oh, i'm so sorry to tell you this but those engines have an internal issue that makes them burn excessive oil and they just don't make it much past 80k.i wouldn't even recommend putting in a new engine because if you do, it might run you about $4000 but then you get another engine no better than the one you had.based on my research, this problem seems to be well known by vw and audi.

on june 10, 2017, i had purchased a brand-new car at prime volkswagen saco, maine with full warranty on it. September 15, 2017, i was with my kids heading down to connecticut. In route on massachusetts 495 south at one point when i pressed the gas pedal to add more power to the car to speed up the car started to shake. I released the gas pedal no shaking occurred. I then again tried adding gas and it started shaking. I then also noticed my engine light had turned on. I was worried so i decided to slow down and pull over into the emergency lane to see what was going on with the car. In the process of slowing down and pulling over to the emergency lane, you could hear a banging sound to me it seemed to be coming from the engine. I called my road side assistance for them to come check out and check my car and they said they don't do that kind of road side assistance for engines that the vehicle must be brought back to a volkswagen dealership. So, that night my vehicle was towed back to prime volkswagen saco, maine where it was originally purchased. Three days later i received a call from the service department at prime volkswagen and they said the fuel in my tank was not pure diesel fuel, that it was contaminated. They tried to tell me i filled the car with gas instead of diesel fuel. I had brought them the receipt when i last filled my tank. It was the morning of my trip heading down to connecticut. I had filled my car from an empty tank to a full tank at big apple on washington avenue right at the bottom of munjoy hill. On that receipt, it states i used fuel pump number three which is a diesel fuel pump. It also shows how many gallons were fueled and the price. After i showed that receipt to the service department of the dealership they then tried to blame the big apple gas station saying that their fuel pumps are contaminated.
Acceleration falls flat unexpectedly off the line. Ever since the re-program of the tdi affected vehicles the car will accelerate quickly at first when given good throttle (70%+), but then all of a sudden at 30-40mph or so it will totally fall flat all of a sudden, and dangerously so. It just completely loses power, and being a diesel, it decelerates fairly quickly. I have had numerous times where it's happened, so much so, i know better than to even try anymore. When pulling out in chicago traffic this can definitely bite you in the rear. It almost seems worse in 'sport' mode also. I sold these cars for almost 8yrs and i never drove one that acted like this. I think they need new programs, the current ones are not only weak, but dangerous.
At 75,355 miles my jetta that i purchased 8 months earlier suddenly died. I was driving 75 mph on the freeway headed to dallas when suddenly all the warning lights came on and my car slowed to a stop. Like a computer shuts down on you. My car would not start. Or even make a sound. The dealership assessed the damage and told me oil had been leaking internally into the engine and i'd need a new one, it would cost about 10k. I have had the car for 28k miles. Purchased certified, all maintenance done at vw. No one wants to help. No buy back. No trade in assistance. No apology. The manager hasn't even called me back. Georgia doesn't have used car lemon laws. I've had problems every few months but because they were not related to the engine, it's no ones fault but mine.
Check engine light and adblue light came on found def fluid all over engine cover and dry def fluid on def fluid injector. Injector leaking.
The vehicle had been stationary for about 6 hours then caught on fire from the engine throughout the whole vehicle. The fire department came and out the vehicle fire out but the whole from end of the vehicle to the inside and backseat was affect by the fire.

2015 vw jetta, 1.8l turbo engine.while interstate driving, the engine abruptly failed, running very roughly, causing a severe loss of power.this was in the hills of tennessee at 65mph, and the sudden loss of power made us a traffic hazard and put all our lives in severe danger, being forced to travel under 40mph to reach safety.there were no warning lights prior, and the car had just had an oil change and inspection.after the loss of power, we had warning lights all over the dashboard.the traction control, ecm, and a flashing check engine were the ones i can recall.after reaching a safe place with cell service, the car was towed to a vw dealership in the next major city.technicians there diagnosed it with an exhaust valve failure, which in turn shattered the spark plug.this was verified by cna national, an extended warranty company.
The timing belt tensioner went bad causing the timing chain to jump time at 72k miles.this did not cause any internal engine damage but did cost a ton of money.apparently this is a common issue in older jetta's, but it appears that the newer models just haven't been given enough time to screw up.it also had to have the high pressure fuel pump replaced due to failure.the car was stationary in my driveway and would not start.
For the past week now my key has been getting stocked in the ignition while the car is on, i've been wiggling the key back and forth until it comes out but today when i got home from work put the car in park trying to take out the key it would not move at all i had to drive to a shop and they ending up taking off the casing around the starring wheeland i believed they knocked on the ignition it self and the key came out he lubricated the key and the ignition by the time i got back home they key still didnt come out easily i has to rock it a few times before it came out.
Car won't pull. It start off good. Then it loses pressure and drops to 30 miles an hour.
Every 600 - 700 miles driving the engine oil sign coming up (need to add 1/4 oil every 600 miles). I took the car to the delership they look at it said it is not their problem. I don't know what to do every month i need to add oil in the engine.this absolutly manufacturing problem they don't want fix it.
My vehicle starts to stall out while either pulling out in front of traffic or while sitting at a stop light.the car does not stall out completely but for 4 seconds + the car will be non responsive to the gas and the tachometer goes to 0 which when pulling out in front of someone with the car sitting idle when its supposed to be moving is very scary.this happens randomly and last occurance happened today.
The contact owns a 2015 volkswagen jetta. Upon starting the vehicle, all of the warning indicators illuminated on the instrument panel.
Traveling on the freeway going to switch to the fast lane and the engine reverts to idle speed.the engine does not turn off and no lights come on but rpm's go down to around 900 and the engine does not respond.i put the car in neutral and depressed the accelerator but nothing happened i put it back in drive and pressed the accelerator again and the engine recovered, in the mean time the vehicle slowed considerably and cars were approaching from the rear.this has happened numerous times but again after a few seconds the engine recovers.i notified vw and brought the car into a dealer to have it checked and nothing was found.i don't want to bring it back to the vw service because obviously this does not happen all of the time.
When i pull out the engine oil dipstick there is a sharp edge at the endof the stick. I almost cut my finger as i wipe it off with a paper towel.i think this is a quality control problem. There should be no burr orsharp edge on the end of the oil dip stick. Eventually as i pull outthe stick and putting back in. This might rub off the internal plastictubing over the year which will cause wear by checking the oil level.one thing for sure i did remove the burr by filing down lightly toprevent injury in the future but should have not done in the first place.please tell vw to improve it quality control on the oil dip stick.
About three weeks ago with 16k miles i called vw and indicated that my jetta smelled like diesel. I was told it was probably just an overfilled fuel tank. It turned out to be a leaky high pressure fuel pump. On the 2015 jetta, this is located on the top of the engine. This literally means that fuel was leaking directly onto the hot engine and exhaust. The leaking fuel eventually ate through radiator lines and caused a complete loss of coolant. Obviously leaky fuel + hot engine / exhaust = fire risk. Not to mention the coolant loss stranded my family on the side of the road. The loss of coolant happened at city speeds and stranded my family.

When driving my brand new 2015 jetta tdi sel at night for the first time, 5 days ago,i was unable to see the road almost at all (even at bare minimum)when i engaged my high beams.upon closer inspection and multiple tries i discovered my low beams would turn off every time i engaged my high beams while driving at night.i almost hit wildlife on the road and swerved to miss it.no crash or injury occurred this time and was lucky.at this time i am unable to use this car unless it is at full daylight.this is an extreme hazard that needs to be corrected.i've been driving for over 25 years and have an excellent driving record.please correct this so i can use my brand new jetta without regret and safety hazard.

Takata recall. I have several complaints:(1)the key in theignition switch doesn't want to turn and once turn the car off, it's hard to remove the key.this problem has been going on for over a year, but it's getting worse. (2) i have also been smelling gas, for at the past 2 years.this was reported to the dealer on one of the maintenance's trip.i was told to just put a higher octane of gas, instead of the 87 octane i was currently using.i started using 89 octane and still smelling the gas.(3) when driving you can fill the vehicle changing gears.

My car has a keyless push start button and now has a sluggish start.
on june 10, 2017, i had purchased a brand-new car at prime volkswagen saco, maine with full warranty on it.

Car is randomly bucking and or hesitating. Many times in the middle of a busy intersection, and kills the engine. I'm going to get killed if this continues to happen. Its been doing this for months.
I am writing to advise you of a potential safety issue with the design of the volkswagen jetta. I own a 2015 jetta.after a heavy rain, and usually after passing through standing water, the car loses power and stalls. This has happened on three occasions recently. I first took the car to my own mechanic, an experienced technician with a major repair franchise. He was unable to pinpoint the problem. When the problem recurred, i took it back and he again tested it but was unable to say for sure what the problem was. However, he noted that there was an air intake in the front end that might have taken in water and caused the issue. I then took the car to the dealership (burlington volkswagen) and they were also unable to diagnose the problem. However, the mechanic there also indicated that it might be due to water entering the air intake in the front end. It seems to me that this would be a design flaw that could lead to an accident due to the sudden loss of power steering.the dealership advised me not to drive through puddles, which is obviously not a practical solution. I then asked volkswagen customer care to look into the problem. The only option the representative there offered was for me to take the car to another vw deaiership, which i am unwilling to do at my personal expense. I am worried about my own and my wife's safety when driving in the rain, but volkswagen is basically telling me that they can't find a problem so they can't fix it. I would be glad to work with you on this issue, and i have attached the vw mechanic's report.
This vehicle's vin report shows no open recalls. Yet i smell fuel in the cabin and have on multiple occasions seen evidence of fuel leaked on the ground. Other 2015 jettas do have recalls for a fuel rail leak. My vehicle appears to have the same safety issue. I believe my vehicle should also be included in the safety recall.i ask you to include it in the existing safety recall. Thank you.

I started to smell of gasoline in my car while driving it. Called vw group of america costumer service number who suggested i take the car to a dealer for inspection. After inspecting the car for two (2) days, the dealer, south motors vw, verbally reported the problem cause was a fuel leak at the injection system: fuel rail. Just as described in the 15v028000 recall. Vw group of america has declined my request to accept this failure as part of the reference recall under the allegation that the vehicle identification number (vin) is not part of the recall and the vehicle has more than 36,000 miles. (actual mileage: 47,500). I understand the recall is vin selective, but it's not out of coincidence that my car was assembled in puebla, mexico; the manufacturing year falls in the recall category and that the supplier of the defective part is benteler de mexico in puebla, mexico.

My new 2015 vw jetta had 3 clutch failures.this occurred on highways in sc, nc and wva in 2015,2016and 2017.each time it was towed to a vw dealer who repaired the clutch system.the fix did not work.each time there was danger from possible an accident.i am afraid to drive this vehicle any more.i am 81 years old and have owned 6 vehicles with standard transmission and had never had a problem with any of those vehicles.i need help.
The problem is the clutch failure in the 6 speed transmission..this is the second time the clutch has failed, preventing the car going into gear.it left us stranded.this was accompanied by a slight burning odor.we feel this leaves us in danger and is a safety hazard.we hesitate to drive it on any long trip. Vw warrants the car for 3 years or 36,000 miles.the warranty states that clutch replacement due to wear is excluded from the warranty.however, i explained to all that we have had 6 autos with standard transmissions over a period of about 60 years and have never had a clutch fail on us.the clutch is a very tough component of any car.vw has refused to reimburse us for this last failure after many requests.my contention is that the clutch failure must be due to some mechanical factor beyond our understanding.we received partial reimbursement for the first failure, but that obviously did not solve the problem. I asked for and have retained the damaged components in case they are needed.

Pre-mature camshaft failure.lobe for number 2 cylinder. No compression. 80k miles. Driving 65mph on interstate, engine lights lit up the dashboard, car stumbled, had to pull off the side and limp to the next exit.
The horn keep malfunctioning it works sometimes the car don't have lose power when i go up hills and smoke is coming from tail pipe
Automatic transmission does not shift. While driving the vehicle hesitated between gears and eventually went into a neutral state while driving at 40 mph. Very close to an accident. There are multiple reports of this issue and already have recalls against certain vin but should be for all vin's. Hybrid system error displayed along with shift selector blinking from drive to a wrench. Called vw customer care and they abruptly interrupted me and stated they will not address this. Very suspicious.

Seat belt buckle will not engage to lock into place multiple times into the buckle itself. It can take as many as a dozen to two dozen times to lock. Few times when it locks it disengages when pressure is applied by chest or waist during driving conditions.this is the driver side only as of now.
1) driver's side front seat belt became problematic to click into the receiver, often when inserting the buckle into the receiver, it would bounce back out as if being ejected 3-6 times before latching.dealer examined, acknowledged something wasn't right and recommended replacement of the receiver. 2) driver's side front seat began exhibiting slight rock and click during acceleration and deceleration. Dealer recommended replacing the seat frame.
Seat belt buckle not latching noticed difficulty getting belt to latch to buckle then not at all research on you tube and internet and found this is a common failureseems like older generation cars seat belt assemblies last a life timethis is a major safety failure

Driving with windows down on mild spring day, no one in passenger seat, just a wallet, kindle and a paper form. Seat warmers were not on, passenger seat started to smoke and little prong heads poked up, tiny, slight burn on holes in leather seat.freaked out, called dealer, took car in, they took pics, agreed that there was visible damage to seat, kept the car for a few hours.later called and said that "there was nothing to fix", no resolution.
The airbag light for the passenger seat indicates that a passenger is not there when there is. It will start blinking randomly, sometimes registering them and sometimes not. This happens while driving or while stationary.
Thank you.
Drivers seat loosely reclined with minimal effort & became locked in position
Seat backs on both front seats make a tin-can-like clunking sound when you push on them them least bit and something inside the seat can be felt shifting as the sound is being made. It doesn't matter if the car is moving or not, it always does it. Our local dealer checked other jetta's on their lot and they all do it so they won't fix it as they consider it "normal operation".
My drivers seat top portion is stuck in an odd position . It won't go back or move at all. It just quit moving. Stationary i think .

My vehicle had a safety recall (23r1/camshaft) which only had the software updated to correct the problem of the camshaft failing and loosing power brakes.we had this done in march of 2016.i was driving home at about 30 mph and touched the brakes to turn and they were hard.fortunately i wasn't going too fast and because i was getting ready to turn and was able to coast to stop in front of my home.we had the car towed to the dealership and they diagnosed a camshaft failure.we have been informed the vehicle is fixed with the same part.obviously a software update is not going to fix the problem if volkswagen in using the same camshaft to repair. Volkswagen is putting many lives at risk without a fix to this problem.i do not feel safe driving this vehicle and do not want to put my family in a vehicle that we feel is a ticking time bomb.we could be killed or injured not to mention other people if we are involved in an accident.i have contacted volkswagen and they have no fix for this problem. This a serious safety issue and i have reported this to volkswagen and told them i want them to buyback the vehicle, no one would feel safe driving this vehicle especially on the highway at 70 mph.

The vacuum gauge line needed to be replaced. The vehicle was later taken to fairfax volkswagen (11505 fairfax blvd, fairfax, va 22030, (703) 359-4500), but the cause of the failure could not be determined. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and opened case number: 180105636. The approximate failure mileage was 31,000.
When i press brake on freeways , i felt like my car stopped because it wont give smooth brake ,i don't put hard and sudden brakes , it will like go front and back and will stop. My volks suspension are too bad . I am, using 2015 volks jetta my transmission will show me all the gears from first to final , i can feel when it gets pick up. I have told my dealer but they don't care. My steering wheel always going pulling left side when ever i drive .
The contact owns a 2015 volkswagen jetta. When depressing the brake pedal, the stopping distance was extended and the pedal extended to the floorboard. The failure occurred on multiple occasions. The cause of the failure was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The contact was informed that the vehicle was included in nhtsa campaign number: 15v70000 (service brakes, hydraulic). The contact indicated that the vehicle experienced the same failure listed in the recall. The failure mileage was 35,500.
The contact owns a 2015 volkswagen jetta. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 15v705000 (engine and engine cooling, service brakes, hydraulic) and the dealer was unable to provide the part for the recall repair in a reasonable amount of time frame. The contact called the dealer for months and was unable to determine when the vehicle would be serviced under the recall. The manufacturer was contacted and was unable to determine when the part would be supplied to the dealer for the recall repair. Vin tool confirms parts not available.
Emergency/parking brake button broke and fell off, rendering the brake inoperative.
I bought a brand new 2015 vw jetta in june 2015 in san jose, ca. On 7th nov 2015 i was in this jetta with my family, driving at 70 mph. Traffic started slowing down and i tried braking but i had almost no brakes. There were no warnings in the vehicle to let me know there was a failure. Fortunately i was in the extreme right lane and swerved to get on to the shoulder of the road to avoid hitting other cars. My family and i and others may have been killed or injured.volkswagen says they will look into it and are will decide if this is covered under warranty. Meanwhile i am without a car and they do not know when they will get it fixed.
The contact owns a 2015 volkswagen jetta. While at a red light, the engine suddenly revved and the brakes failed to stop the vehicle from moving, the vehicle accelerated and crashed into the preceding vehicle, which then crashed into a third vehicle. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The air bags did not deploy. There were no injuries and a police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a local dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 14,907. The vin was not provided.
The contact owns a 2015 volkswagen jetta. While driving unknown speeds, the brake pedal was depressed; however, the brake pedal was stiff and traveled to the floorboard of the vehicle without warning. Additionally, the brakes made an abnormal crunching noise. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer (volkswagen of puyallup, 820 river road puyallup, wa 98371) where it was diagnosed that the vehicle needed a brake replacement. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 55.
The camshaft lobe has the potential to unexpectedly shear off from the chamshaft. Vw's remedy is a software update. It seems the camshaft should be redesigned instead. How will a software update fix this issue?
The contact owns a 2015 volkswagen jetta. While driving various speeds and depressing the brake pedal to come to a complete stop, the vehicle failed to stop. The emergency brake was used in order to stop the vehicle and the "check the vehicle" warning message illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the vacuum gauge line failed due to not building sufficient pressure to brake.
The contact owns a 2015 volkswagen jetta. Upon starting the vehicle, all of the warning indicators illuminated on the instrument panel.

It's very difficult to remove and engage the ignition cylinder on my 2015 vw treading. It takes several seconds to remove or engage the cylinder.vw canada bramgate service location indicated that they can diagnose the cylinder for a fee, but would not tell me whether this safety issue was covered under warranty until after the diagnostic.
Both my front tires unraveled on separate occasions within a months timeframe on the inside wheel well. I was driving and i heard some loud noise and noticed the tire and when removed there was metal showing all along the inside of the tire and about a foot of unraveled rubber wrapped around the axle. This same thing happened a couple weeks later to the other front tire.

I cannot remove the key from the steering wheel cylinder lock once the car is started. It takes an extended period of times and just plain luck for the lock to return to the off point and the key to be removed
The vehicle had been stationary for about 6 hours then caught on fire from the engine throughout the whole vehicle. The fire department came and out the vehicle fire out but the whole from end of the vehicle to the inside and backseat was affect by the fire.

Driver front door rattle, when driving at any speed. And nothing in door pocket
The front suspension coil rings have failed twice in 18 month.the break causing danger and non drive-ability
This bw 62,000 miles on it. While driving the left rear suspension coil broke off into the road. Our second vw, the exact same car bought four days earlier, blew a front suspension spring a month earlier. I will report that car separately.

The horn keep malfunctioning it works sometimes the car don't have lose power when i go up hills and smoke is coming from tail pipe
I own a 2015 volkswagen jetta se tsi and the rear coil spring on my drivers side snapped into 3 pieces. I was just on the highway and was coming through torrential downpour in the middle of rhode island. I was lucky enough to just have pulled in my drive way and put the car into park when a loud bang occured and my car dropped on the driver side a few inches. There were zero warning signs or indicator lights. The car just drooped. Could have been a disaster had it happed in the downpour on my way home.
Rear suspension springs needed to be replaced. Both were snapped in two pieces, one happened to be broken but held together (stacked top to bottom) as two separate pieces. Nothing occurred to the car to cause this. Car has approximately 90,000 miles.
Both my front tires unraveled on separate occasions within a months timeframe on the inside wheel well. I was driving and i heard some loud noise and noticed the tire and when removed there was metal showing all along the inside of the tire and about a foot of unraveled rubber wrapped around the axle. The passenger side front suspension coil spring broke during cold weather while turning off the road to a store parking lot.did not drive through any potholes or similar things that would stress the spring. Earlier this year, in march, the front driver side spring also broke in cold weather while pulling into a driveway.
While having the brakes replaced it was determined that the right front suspension spring is broken. This is in addition to my first report of a rear spring breaking while driving.
Two flats in 1 week with continentalconti pro contact tires both with sidewall issues. Bought brand new 2015 se tsi vw jetta on 12/28/2014 car had 245 miles on it. On 1/15/2015 i was driving on palmetto park rd when the front driver side tire went flat. Tire had multiple sidewall bubbles, vw roadside came and put a spare on.next on 1/17/2015pulling out of parking lot i ran over a rock and back passenger side tire went flat again tire had sidewall issues. Car only has 1000 miles on it.
Bought a 2015 jetta se in september of 2015.vehicle was only serviced by a licensed dealership in maryland, and had just had it's 20,000 service.told the tires were fine, and dealer rotated them.while driving in a parking lot at 5-10 mph, the two passenger tires blew out from the sidewall with a loud popping sound.no obstacles, or nails/glass etc. In the road, and nothing was ran over.tires only had 20,500 miles on them, and were rated 8/32 by the dealer two weeks ago at the service appointment.upon researching, there are numerous complaints about these tires, made by continental, blowing out on the sidewall.it has happened on highways and caused crashes and injuries, and they should be recalled before more folks get hurt.we were lucky that it happened in a parking lot at a very low speed, and i have replaced all 4 with safe tires for my daughter.please investigate why this tire has a long track record of bbb and various complaints about the tires blowing out through the sidewall at low mileage for no apparent reason.volkswagen did not take ownership or replace the tires and continental put us on hold indefinitely.i am out $70 for a tow, and $600 for the new tires but luckily no one was injured, thank you.
My car has a keyless push start button and now has a sluggish start.
Back-up camera on 2015 fails to work after repeated times vehicle is placed in reverse
The ignition cylinder/switch is bad.when running, the key will not turn off.this is dangerous for many reasons.there is not a recall on this but there needs to be after reading forums and seeing how many jetta's have the same exact problem.
Sunroof exploded from inside out while driving on highway. Dealership will not cover under warranty knowing there is a class action lawsuit under review. Other drivers were effected dodging class particles on highway. Interior of car plus myself was covered with glass for the next couple miles until finding a volkswagen dealership. Super loud explosion noise almost caused me to wreck too. I would not recommend volkswagen brand to anyone now.
Looking to see if my timing belt or serpentine belt needs to be replaced.
Cannot turn vehicle off once on.key gets stuck.vehicle is in park stationary.after jiggling the key for over a couple hours i finally got the vehicle to turn off.
Ignition key got stuck into ignition switch making unable to turn the car off.this starting happening after recall 37m2 was performed.

Key gets stuck in ignition when turning off the engine.
My rear view camera stopped working on my vehicle. When i shift into reverse, the screen doesn't change to the rear view camera any more. Try it many times now.
While driving my car i received a warning that these services were not working.blind spot monitor, front assist and rear traffic.i have car net service on this car.after being on the fwy for 2 hours, i finally was able to get off the fwy to turn back on the features, since you must be stopped. It seems that the car net program had sent a report from that day saying everything was fine.i believe when the program sends a report it glitches the software that controls these vital car functions.i called vw & car-net but they will not admit that there is a bug in the integration of the vehicle that causes the car to fail.this also happened to me once before while driving and i was told on the dash board that the car was overheating. I stopped and took it to the dealer and noting was wrong.this was also after the car sent a report from the car net program.both happen while the car was in motion and gave no warning on the fwy. I believe this should be looked into before someone gets hurt.vw seems to not care about this.
Received safety recall letter from vw of america. As indicated in letter, i've experienced refueling issues; i tried to contact serramonte vw for service. Not only was i unsuccessful in getting through to the service department, their webpage for initiating service requests is currently inactive. Hoping you will notify serramonte vw to be accessible so as to respond to safety recalls. This is my experience but there are likely other owners who have experienced the same issue of getting in touch with serramonte vw. The dealership should not be so busy as to not receive phone calls.
The horn and alarm chirp has gone crazy.sometimes horn works but very soft and some other times doesn't work at all.the alarm chirp same.this is a new car and we can't believe this is happening.workmanship going bad or location of the horn getting too much water and this is not customers fault.this will happen on and off.
My vehicle is experiencing the exact same symptoms as the vw jetta tsb # 8715-18. 2015 year miles approx 53k. I am a subsequent owner. Original owner was a rental car company hence the higher mileage. Vw refuses to stand behind the fact that a ac condenser valve should not be sticking at this point and with showing the exact same symptoms as a tsb on the golf i want this reviewed deeper by nhtsa. 1300 ax repair should not be happening to a vehicle that's only 2 to 3 years from dfu.
Horn will not function below freezing ambient temperature; likely moisture inside has frozen the mechanism; works fine once ambient temperature has risen above 32*f
On september 25, 2017 i had parked my car for about 4 hours on a very hot day (over 90 degrees farenheit) and i entered the car, turned on the air conditioning on full cool and began to drive.approximately 5 minutes later, while driving on the highway, the passenger side front door window ":exploded" out sending glass outside the car into the lane next to me and onto the roadway.the noise of the explosion was very loud and startled me.the glass that remained around the edges of the broken window fell into the car in the passenger area but most had been blown out in the "explosion.".the glass that blew out scratched the car paint underneath and behind the door on the outside.i yakt extremely good care of my cars and the window, prior to the explosion, was completely intact with no damages or scratches on the window.had anyone been next to me in another auto with the window open, or if i had been statioanary and a pedestrianwas outside the window, i am certain they would have sustained injuries.while the force of the blast was outward, i beleive anyone in the passenger seat would have likewise sustained injury, certainly to the eyes as minute glass particleswere blown about the car on the passenger side.in my opinion, the glass was either manufactured in a faulty manner that did not allow for the temperature variances or installed at manufacture of the vehicle in a manner the did not allow expansion and/or contraction of the glass caused by temperature variances.
I rented a vehicle through hertz to drive for lyft. I discovered the car horn didn't work when someone cut me off and i had to swerve to avoid them. This caused me to hit a curb and ultimately lose a hubcap. Hertz wants to charge me for hubcap... When i informed hertz about the issue i was told that they only inspect the body of the vehicle, not whether it functions.when pressed, they insisted that it was lyft's responsibility to check that the car is working and safe.lyft claims it is the responsibility of hertz to inspect vehicles are working properly.
Key won't turn off. Requires shaking and wiggling key or forcing key to turn
While cruise control is on and controlling the vehicle speed, the speed setting will sometimes (i.e. Unpredictably and intermittently) increase the speed to the closest 5 mph increment when commanded to decrease the speed to the closest 5 mph increment.i have been able to reproduce this error dozens to hundreds of times but i cannot discern a notable pattern and the behavior seems unpredictable.this is not a new issue but has existed since i purchased the vehicle new in 2014.example: i am driving and set the cruise control to "on" to control the vehicle speed at 63 mph. I press the button that is supposed to decrease the speed to the next lowest multiple of 5 (60 mph) but it will instead increase the speed to 65 mph. The 60 to 65 mph range is simply an example and the issue exists at all speeds, as far as i can tell.
Cruise control errors out when the on or set buttons are pressed.dash displays "err". Once this takes place the only solution is to totally stop, remove the key and restart the vehicle.this morning was the fourth time this week.vehicle is now three weeks old and has <250 miles total.it has happened at speeds of 35, 45, 55 and 65 (my normal commute route).while searching the internet it seems this is a common problem and has been known for months if not years.why are they still placing the defective systems on the road?

Actuated wash wipe on rental vehicle on open freeway near flagstaff, az on a sunny day.the wash sprayed properly on both sides of the windshield.the wipers started wiping and then the blade on the driver side wiper slid up and out of the black plastic clip.this left the driver side window with fluid still spraying on the windshield without a blade to wipe it off the glass.the driver side wiper blade came fully out of the clip and flew over roof of the vehicle.the spray and wipers stopped after the normal length cycle.driver was able to see out of passenger side of windshield that had been cleared by the passenger wiper blade.examining the remaining plastic clip on the driver side wiper arm, i found a part number that started with vw.it appeared to be the original equipment wiper blade clip on the driver side wiper arm on the vehicle.
