Defective airbag control module. Power is cut to the control module and airbag may not deploy in the event of an accident
The vehicle was in a front-end collision and the airbags did not deploy.this year/make/model was not recalled and maybe should be???vehicle was in motion, rear-ended the car in front of it.the entire front end is smashed in.no airbags activated - neither driver nor passengers side.
Air bags failed to deploy on my2014 volkswagen jetta. I hit a guardrail head on at 50-60 mph pushing it 8 feet back. I sustained a large laceration on my forehead eventually needing 6 staples and 6 stitches to close it up. My passenger got abbrastions to her head from hitting the window. Which is now cracked and broken throughout. The air bag light came on my dashboard but no air bags were ever deployed. Having just bought this vehicle 6 months ago from a dealership and them verifying that everything was in working order has me wondering what to do about this? $18,000 for a trip to the e.r that night. Needless to say i'm pretty disappointed and know that if the airbags would have properly went off it would have made things alot easier!!
Every single light on the dash is turned on even though there's no problem, and the speedometer meter doesn't move. I got the issue fixed by an independent mechanic who said the computer only needed to be reset, but the vw dealership insists that i still have a big issue that can effect the usage of my brakes, airbags, everything, and wants to charge me $3500 for anon-problem. Since the sensors are all on, i don't know when to fill up oil or gas, and i won't be alerted if i have a flat tire or there's an issue with the engine. They also mentioned that since the sensors are dead it may not deploy my airbag system. I've been told it's not worth fixing, my car only has 49,537 miles and is in good condition; this is absurd.
While driving on the overpass the car cutoff almost hit from behind by a dump truck would not crank back up for 7 minutes.airbag light on show malfunction of airbag
My car was involved in a front end collision and my air bags did not deploy. My vehicle was totaled. My car was moving at a slow speed to make a left turn when another vehicle hit my vehicle at a fast speed
Passenger side airbag not working/off notice along with abs off notice and underinflation notice all happened simultaneously upon starting car and remains on. Car only has been driven 18000 miles since new
Stationary, in motion, and when turning--airbag light is on, horn doesn't work, cruise control switch doesn't work and steering wheel buttons do not work. Purchased this vehicle from a toyota dealership two months ago--with only 30k miles. At 34k miles when this problem occurred.
June 2014 i brought my 2014 jetta se to the dealership to have it looked at b/c the airbag light came on & other lights.they had my car for a 1.5 weeks & claimed they were waiting on a new clock spring, finally after me getting agitated they fixed it,the car at the time only had 2000 miles on it.i was told by the service department it was just a electrical glitch and it's been fixed.then august 19,2014,the traction control, tire pressure, etc lights came on when i was backing down my driveway,i emailed the service tech asking if i needed air in my tires he said no to then turn the car off and turn it on,that should resolve the problem.he then said if it happens again to drop the car off at the dealership.september 3,2014 the lights came back on and this time i demanded to bring my car in.my breaks were squeaking, all the lights from before where on &the back tires were making squealing noises,it only had 3750 miles on it.they had my car again over a week and came back with excuses, they said they were waiting for vw to give them the software update, they have 5 other cars that have also been waiting for the update.after me yelling and emailing everyone & going there myself to demand my car.they say vw hasn't release the update but they will dial it into my car.this is a serious safety concern and they are sitting on the fix.i then took my car to another dealership, meanwhile they deleted the error code so the traction etc lights are off.the other dealership said they couldn't give me a loaner car b/c vw wouldn't reimburse them unless the car gave them an error.i told them to call vw and get the error, they told me they couldn't. I would need to drive the car until the lights came back on and they could get an error code from the car.meanwhile a week later i'm still trying to find a dealership in atlanta with a loaner car & can fix my defective car.
If i drive with the car the brake-warning light, abs light and airbag light turns on. It alarms. I brought it to dealer and they asked germany but they couldn't figure out what wrong is. I am afraid to drive with these lights. They reset the computer but it happens after 20 miles again.
Problem with air bags. Code 9437201 will reset but comes back.
Defective clock spring. Broke under normal steering wheel operation while parking vehicle at low speed, this in turn caused steering wheel controls to become inoperable and activated air-bag malfunction light.
The contact owns a 2014 volkswagen jetta. While driving approximately 65 mph, the driver's side air bag warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed, but they could not determine what component of the air bag was defective. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer and manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 61,000.
Clockspring went bad on a 5 year old vehicle. Air bag light is on, horn and steering wheel controls dont work.
I was under the impression of buying a good car, when i purchase this vehicle on march 6 2015 i was never inform about the current recall #14v1820000, i purchase this vehicle brand new, even so is a 2014 model, also i took the car for service (june) i think and also i was never notified of a new recall that was issued on jan 23 2015 recall #15v028000, and then i was never notified about the recent recall issued on aug 04 2015, recall #15v483000, i would like to proceed and held vw co responsible for any wrong doing since the vehicle can cost fire and is unsafe to drive, i'm a sr retired and would like held vw responsible for their product and because they sold mea car without disclosing the recalls on the vehicle. I bought the car in march 6 2015 brand new even so is a 2014 model. Again i should be given trhu information about the car status.
The vehicle was in a major car accident before i purchased the vehicle and the carfax states that the car was involved in am accident with another vehicle which caused severe front damage reported. Multiple airbags deployed. The sub rail frame has been welded together by someone that did not appear to know what they were doing and now the entire frame is cracked again.
Takata recall. I have a 2014 volkswagen jetta gli edition 30 w/navigation. My airbag light came on while i was driving that's right in motion. The same day my steering wheel started clicking when i turned it to the left one day. I went to use my horn and it wouldn't work. Then noticed all of my all the buttons on my steering wheel were not working either. The steering wheel buttons are the controls for the navigation settings, time, phone. There isn't a way to change setting using the console buttons. The steering wheel controls are the hub of setting controls.i can not use my horn for anything. 18 wheelers swaying, someone not paying attention i can not use my horn for any of these reasons.every time i get in my car i am without an airbag.i went online to do some research. I found a recall for the 2014 jetta i printed out the recall # and took it to the dealership and said this recall and the clicking on my steering wheel match. Can you fix this here? the representative then told me that he was sorry the recall did not include the gli 30 year anniversary edition jetta. The shop would not order the part without a diagnostic which cost me $120.88. Once the diagnostic was complete i received a call "ma'am you are correct the clock spring is what needs to be replaced and the part is $290.07 and labor $316.88 with tax a total of $682.33 even though everything matched the recall. Because this recall isn't expanded and doesn't include the correct cars.i have had to pay $803.21.i am out safely driving with a airbag or the safety of a horn.this recall does not include all cars affected.
When my airbag deployed, the vw emblem on the steering wheel popped open to the left and the airbag pushed it into my left arm which caused a burn and my arm to bleed. I know have a good scar on my left arm. If that emblem would have not been there or would have maybe opened downwards i would have walked away with a small airbag burn to the right hand only.
Takata recall, air bag light came on randomly and will not go away
The contact owns a 2014 volkswagen jetta. While driving 70 mph, the contact's vehicle crashed into the rear of another vehicle. The air bags failed to deploy. A police report was not filed. The contact sustained a concussion, whiplash, and head injury that required medical attention. The driver of the other vehicle was not injured. The vehicle was towed to the contact's residence and then to a body shop. Volkswagen of murrietta (located at 41300 date st, murrieta, ca 92562, (951) 249-7072) was made aware of the failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The cause of the failure was not determined. The failure mileage was unknown.
The car presented problems in the month of july. Stopping at a red light the car is completely turned off, also the cell phone charger not working, this happened three times unfortunately not had the time to take it to the dealer. No light at the board of any problem warned. Turned off and turned on the car again and went back to work.i made an appointment with the service department told me to take it on monday, august 4 at 10:30 am, i waited until 1:30 pm. They didn't give another car for go my job. They said they had called the same volkswagen and they could not find the problem. They gave me the car without solving the problem because it turns off only they fixed the phone charger.the car returned to present problems on sunday august 31 at 7:30 pm. I started the car and drive 3 blocks / blocks and turn right the car turned off, i found myself with a co-pilot. Turn off the car and turned it on like i used to, yes it worked, but it light seat belt and air bags began ringing since we had not recognized belts. Turn off the engine and turned on 4 occasions but the problem was not resolved. I had to be with this annoying noise during monday (labor day). I come back on friday 5 september to services department left my car and i need a car to get my job but the didn't want to give me when i told her that explain in a paperthat there isnot a car for me she asked me to wait a moment and suddenly i got a 2015 nissan altima, but could handle only in new york i can not leave this area.i call wolkswagen 800-822-8987 because i want come back my money because the car presents too many flaws that can not be fixed and i will not be a victim of an accident in the future. Please appreciate attention to my order. Thanks a lot
A few weeks ago, i reversed (at an angle) into a parking spot and the steering wheel started making a clicking sound. The sound ensued when making any turns with the vehicle. One day, while parking, the steering wheel clicked and there was a snap sound. Upon re-entering my vehicle, the airbag error light came on and all steering-mounted controls were disabled. After further research, this issue is related the to the clock spring issue (recall) for volkswagen vehicles. However, the model and year (jetta hybrid, 2014) of my car is not listed under the recall list. I have spoken with my local vw dealer, and they have basically told me the issue is not covered under the clock spring extended warranted vw issued.
Airbag light came on and steering wheel controls stopped working immediately after signal presented.
Driver airbag light illuminated on dashboard while car was in motion on highway in pouring rain weather. Car horn is also currently not working/able to be used in event of emergency or warning. Airbag light would come on for about 6 seconds and then go off repeatedly then finally stayed on for good. Appears to be a clock spring issue from research that may not have been initially covered and completed in 2015 manufacturer recall. Vin is also not included in current takata airbag recall either.... No previous issues to note prior to symptoms beginning...
Upon starting the car it suddenly began illuminated five (5) warning lights within the instrument cluster: tire pressure monitoring system, anti-slip regulation, automatic brake system malfunction, problem with steering, and airbag and safety belt pretensioner system malfunction. The car was immediately driven to the dealer.from these warnings, napleton's of orlando surmised the problem to be a defective left/rear wheel speed sensor!?i declined any work and took my doubts to volkswagen customer care. After customer care involved david maus volkswagen of orlando (another vw dealer in town?) - the feedback given was that yes, the wheel speed sensor can generate these 5-warnings.unbeknownst to me i learned that if my air bag warning is illuminated that the air bags are disabled.i was not advised of this at the time i left the dealer.nevertheless, i feel that the warnings & indicators systems needs a warning indicator for wheel speed sensors!?moreover, this warning system is misleading and creates a potential for death or injury to the unsuspecting motorist that is led to believe that the real problem has nothing to do with the 5-idiot lights illuminated on the dashboard!i find the 5-light event correlation to be deceptive and demanding of doubt.my expectation is for a recall and vw to fix the warning system. A fix to a critical sensor located down at the wheel level needs improvement. Incidentally, only after my customer care excallation did volkswagen agree to pay 100% parts and labor. Apparently, after the replacement of the left/rear wheel speed sensor, the warning lights are off and the car appears to be operating normally.
I been trying to get my sticker since last year ....i haven't been able tocause of the re call. I been driving expires tags....am annoy already with this recall t the dealer should had told me since tha begging...my car keeping losing oil and and. Can i just get a refund
Forced off road by another driver, hit pole and my face hit steering wheel and head shattered windshield causing severe concussion, cuts/bruises and neck issues.
Takata recall
The contact owned a 2014 volkswagen jetta. While driving approximately 40 mph, the vehicle slid on ice and crashed into the rear of a pickup truck. The air bags failed to deploy. The contact sustained a concussion and injuries to the nose and lip that required medical attention. The contact had to be transported in an ambulance. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a body shop and deemed destroyed. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 5,798.
I was in a car accident that caused significant damage but the air bags did not deploy.my estimation is the driver who hit me was going 40-45 mph.
My airbag light came on. Vehicle has never been hit or in any accident. Now the steering wheel controls no longer work.
Hi i bought my car 2017 i didnt know about the recall until october.... Its says it's on fixable so i cant get my registrationor sticker i want a refund or a new carr if i could get a responseright away cause mytags or expierd
The contact owns a 2014 volkswagen jetta. The contact stated that while driving at 35 mph, the brakes and steering wheel seized and excessive force was required on the steering wheel. The contact mentioned that the battery and the no key warning lights illuminated. The failure occurred on several occasions. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the battery and the alternator needed to be repaired. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 4,000.
April 13th,2020i took my car in to the local vw dealership to have it looked at.road testing produced nothing, but p1732 and p173d codes were found. The service department called the vw tech line and vw indicated that a new transmission was the only option. My cost would be $9236.14.afterwards, i stopped at the local independent german auto repair shop to have my paperwork looked at.this shop indicated that this was a new transmission design, intended for the hybrid, and that it was full of bugs.i was informed that vw knew about the issue and created a software bandage to fix it.the fix was not a permanent solution, rather to prolong the life of the car instead of vw fixing the issue under warranty.this shop also indicated that normal service done to cars would show a potential problem, but vw indicated to clear the code and not tell customers. Transmissioni am not sure the exact date that the transmission issues began, but i do know that it was after march 27th, 2020.i know this because i worked all day for news america marketing and there were no issues with the car.on the day that the issue began, i had been using e-mode frequently and i noticed that the car was running hotter than normal.i stopped using e- mode.currently the car is drivable.the check engine light does not come on regularly.when there is a problem, only odd gears are available.gears 2,4,6, and reverse are not available.when the check engine light comes on, the car will immediately downshift to an odd gear.for example, 4th gear to 3rd.this results in the car slowing down quickly due to the high rpm.if the car is in 2nd, shifting to 1st causes the car to come to a stop over a short distance.
Key gets stuck in ignition when turning off the engine!
The horn does not work, engine light stays on while driving or in park, when you put gas in the vehicle you have to press the accelerator for it to start otherwise it will cut off, heater blows a little on 2 other than that blows out cool air
Keyfob is not working properly. I need to be really close to the car in order to be able to open with the remote control. Sometimes (depends on the place, position and angle) i need to be almost next to the car in order to get it opened.
The contact owns a 2014 volkswagen jetta. The contact stated that the vehicle rolled away after it was shifted into park. The failure recurred in august of 2019. Also, while driving 45 mph, the vehicle began to hesitate and multiple warning indicators flashed. The vehicle was taken to burke volkswagen (located at 519 stone harbor blvd, cape may court house, nj 08210, (609) 465-6000) to be diagnosed, but the failure could not be duplicated. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 19v615000 (electrical system, steering). The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and stated that the part was not available for the repair. The failure mileage was 57,000. Parts distribution disconnect.
Ignition key gets stuck, unable to turn the car on. The car will not switch over. All lights and accessories work but the car will not turn on. The ignition key requires significant movement to get loose.
Car continues to leak, tire sensor always on doesn't go away, since the beginning of lease terms, all the above mentioned is consistent, while vehicle is stationary, in motion, on street or on a highway. Further, the same occurs with any turn.
Chronic issue with key either not turning to start ignition or failing to turn to shut the vehicle off while in park. Sales person suggested, "just turn the wheel back and forth a lot until it works. It's a safety feature." after numerous incidences vehicle was taken to the dealership where they attempted to have me pay for the failure of their product. Under extended warranty the housing for the defective part is covered, but not the part itself. Defect in the part is a known problem. This is the second major issue i have had with this vehicle in less than 3 years.
Low beam headlights both went out and refuse to turn on. Bulbs and fuses are fine as well as the brights work just fine. The problem started this morning as i went to leave for work.
"the engine may idle rough and stumble upon acceleration. This may be due to faulty engine control module software misadjusting the valve timing." thi is the current safety recall for the same make model and year of my car, however, my vin has not been included. This is the issue with my car. It will happen while in park, when slowing down to stop at a stop sign, a light, or in a drive thru. My car has stalled as a result at a stop sign and at a light. Last time this happened was yesterday.
Key gets stuck in ignition when turning off the engine.
Car running and stopped, ignition key is stuck and will not turn car off or release.
Faulty ignition switch. Locks on the "on" or "off" position.when the vehicle is stationary it is hard to turn it on or off because it locks.
The contact owns a 2014 volkswagen jetta. While driving approximately 40 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle was able to restart. The vehicle was towed to south bay volkswagen (3131 national city blvd, national city, ca 91950) where it was diagnosed that the ignition coil and steering lock needed to be replaced. The failure recurred twice. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 52,879.
Ignition key will not rotate in ignition switch to turn engine off.this is a common defective design condition in the non-keyless models.one trick learned on internet is to tap end of key with screwdriver handle while lightly turning in off direction.safety concern is inability to turn car engine off in emergency, electrical fault/fire or for police safety.
The contact owns a 2014 volkswagen jetta. The contact stated that the key was unable to be removed from the ignition. As a result, the contact was unable to turn off the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to jim ellis volkswagen atlanta (5901 peachtree blvd, atlanta, ga 30341, (888) 848-3509) to be diagnosed. The contact had not been given the diagnosis results for the failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 17,000.
The contact owns a 2014 volkswagen jetta. While the contact's daughter was driving at unknown speeds, the vehicle shook and the instrument panel lighting flashed. The driver depressed the brake pedal, but the vehicle failed to slow down or stop. As a result, the driver crashed into the rear ofanother vehicle. The driver sustained injuries to the left shoulder and back, which required medical attention. The injuries to the other vehicle occupants were unknown. A police report was not filed. The vehicle was towed to a dealer where it was awaiting diagnosis. Several weeks prior to the collision, the vehicle was taken to the dealer for the flashing instrumental panel lighting and intermittent starting issue. At that time, the vehicle was diagnosed as needing a new battery.the battery was replaced. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
Crank car cut off like im out of gas... Wiring is bad powertrain as well due to code p0341 sensor
The key was stuck in the ignition making it impossible to turn off the car. The only way to turn off the car was to pull a fuse and disconnect the battery, a tedious process for starting and stopping the vehicle. Also, when i turned off the car manually i was unable to lock the car which is unsafe.
I have spoken with my local vw dealer, and they have basically told me the issue is not covered under the clock spring extended warranted vw issued.
Ignition switch was extremely hard to turn off. Eventually car would not turn off at all. Key was very hot. Vehicle ran for over 2 hours and would not turn off.
When the vehicle downshifts to lower gears the engine stutters and eventually stalls out
Can not turn ignition to "off" position when engine is running. Car was placed in park l, parked in grocery store fl t surface parking lot. Drove car back home, tried again to no avail. Car was stationary.
2014 vw jetta car key is getting stuck in the key ignition. Problem started around only at 50,000 miles. Right now, around 55,900 miles, the problem happens every single time the car key gets inserted into the key ignition. The key ignition turning mechanism no longer feels smooth when trying to start or turn off the car.the worst part comes when trying to turn off the car.it is very difficult to turn off the car as the key gets stuck in the ignition. Steering wheel needs to be wiggled/(turned in the left and right motion) while trying to get the car key pulled off from the ignition.this is very concerning for the owners of 2014 vw jetta. As i did some research on this topic, i have found out that this has been an ongoing problem for vw cars. And yet vw customer care does not try to acknowledge this issue and only thing that they tell me is that there is no extended warranty coverage on the 2014 models.i have read online that there is an extended warranty for the key ignition on 2012/2013 vw jetta. There should be an extended warranty for the model year 2014 jetta as well because the parts are exactly the same as 2012/2013 and 2014. I do not understand why vw is ignoring this issue for 2014 vw jetta. For the sake of public safety, vw needs to acknowledge this ongoing issue and vw needs to provide a recall or at least extended warranty for all the cars with this well known issue.vw customer care region manager is extremely slow in responding to this issue. It's been a week and still, there is no answer on whether they will fix this issue or not. All she says is that there is no extended warranty on the year 2014 models rather than giving any apology. No compassion from vw at all. Very disappointed with the whole vw customer care regarding how they handle this issue.
The door locks just click continuously, which means the drivers door is never locked.this is a safety hazard as anyone can get in the vehicle while driving
Horn and car alarm stop working since 09/03/2017. I was driving on a highway when my horn stop working, as soon as i got a chace to pulled over, that's when i noticed that my car alarm stopped working too, i called the dealer to make an appointment to fixe it the issue that it seems it a manufacturer recall but i'm getting chare for it.
The contact owns a 2014 volkswagen jetta. The contact stated that the speedometer was difficult to see. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted about the failure. The failure mileage and vin was not available. Updated 05/28/14*ljthe consumer stated the mileage did not always appear. The switch on the steering wheel needed to be clicked in order to make the mileage reappear. Updated 05/29/2014
Ignition key would not turn at all, could not start car or engine.tried turning wheel, brake, emergency brake, gearshift, still could not turn key.internet search found numerous problems with vw jetta ignition key problems. This ignition should be recalled due to safety concerns.
I cannot remove the key from the ignition to shut off the engine. The car is parked in my drive way.
Headlights stopped working on dim. Then tailights went out. We've had the car 2 1/2 years and this is second time the headlights have went out like this. When the headlights went out, the bluetooth also wasn't working the way it had previously. Also, the windows will sometimes not respond properly. They will go the opposite way that i am directing it to do. (push for up and it goes down, for example). These incidences happen both when vehicle is moving and stationary.
I had 38c4 recall fixed on my car on 1/14/20.prior to that i did some electronic issues fixed.recently i parked my car and it would not go in reverse.i got out of parking spot and was able to drive fwd. I was on my way back to work with my coworkers and my car just suddenly died. I restarted it and it went a small way further and died again.i had it towed to galpin vw, in west hills, ca.they said the computer read that it needs a new gearbox.i believe my vehicle has been part of a couple recalls but hasn't been flagged.one of the recalls ended with production date 10/2013 and mine was manufactured 11/2013.that might have been 34f6/4v. Not sure.my car died before the fix for 38c4 also.i was on a busy street and could have got myself and my coworkers killed. I tried to speak with vw customer care, with jennifer who said after speaking with superiors there was nothing she could do.my car only has about 62,000 miles.i need help with this.
The car's ignition is very difficult to turn on and off. It usually takes a few minutes to jiggle the key the right way to get the car to turn off, and then another few minutes and a forceful yank to get it out. Turning the ignition on can also be difficult, as the key doesn't want to turn in the cylinder and you have to really force it to turn. You can't leave the car to get help because then it could be easily stolen. This needs to be recalled asap.
2014 vw jetta suddenly stalled while driving on the freeway. Engine stalled and had complete loss of power, reducing steering and braking capability, creating a dangerous driving condition likely to increase chances of a crash. Alternator light came on. Was able to avoid traffic and get over to side of road and shut engine off. Was able to restart, move car 10 feet, and stalled again. Restarted and drove straight to point of sale (dealer quirk vw of braintree, mass). Dealer had car twice, for six days total. Dealer said they were eventually able to reproduce the condition, but did not find a physical cause. Dealer said they discovered a "software update" was available to address this issue and applied the update. Dealer said the car was then "100 percent" not at risk of having this issue.two weeks later, on august 9th, car stalled while driving about 35 miles per hour. Coasted to side of road and was not able to restart. Car was towed to same dealer (quirk vw) after hours. No new action taken yet. I plan to ask for a refund.this issue has put my life in danger as well as that of my passengers and the lives of other drivers around me, and i believe represents a serious defect in this car. With unexpected stalling and loss of controls while driving, i am put at the mercy of other drivers to avoid my car unexpectedly and at high rates of speed.i do not feel safe driving this car. I am concerned that the next time this happens, i or another person won't be so lucky.
While driving the vehicle, it starts to stall or have stalled while slowing down or sitting in rush hour traffic; or while stopped at a red light. The dealer stated the code was p0011 and the camshaft position sensor needed to be replaced. The part was about $75 and the labor just under $400. The check engine light came back on within 2 days and the issue started again. Now the dealer stated code p0011 again, and also code p0016 crank shaft position correlation which is the timing belt he stated. He also quoted a price over $3000 to have the work completed. I asked if this was the problem all along and the p0011 was misdiagnosed the last time since you have the same code again. Was the old position sensor bad or not. He could not answer. I told him i can't keep spending money if you can't grantee a fix. I don't want to come back in a few weeks with the same code, but the price keeps going up. Also, that stated they completed a recall update to the ecm software. I told them i was surprised as i had checked nhtsa and it stated 0 incomplete recalls. I know this as i researched the p0011 issue several weeks ago, and someone mentioned in a post to check for this update. This appears to be a common issue as many people on this site have similar complaints to my own, with the 2014 vw jetta: https://www.carcomplaints.com/volkswagen/jetta/2014/engine/engine_dies_stalls_while_driving.shtmli can't afford to keep paying for possible fixes. I need for vw to work on my vehicle and complete the repairs and make sure it's what is needed to resolve this issue.also, i've noticed that since this issue has started, the car is burning fuel at an incredible rate; going from a half a tank to a quarter tank in a 12 mile trip to work and 12 miles back home, without any other stops. I would think 24 miles round trip in traffic would burn maybe 2 gallons, but not a quarter tank of gas.
Ignition was stuck on with the engine runningi could not get the car to shut off told by the dealer to let it run out of gas. Looked online numerous complaints about the ignition switch unable to be shut off car is only 3 years old
Dealer issued keys are impossible to turn when attempting to turn off engine in stationary/park position. Have to flick key forward causing a power surge to shut the engine off. Process is getting worse, now fuel light is on stating that my fuel sensor is broken. Car has lost power when accelerating as well. This is all connected to the power surge needed to shut the car off. Dealership states, there has not been a recall for this type of issue, it will cost me upwards to $1000 to fix ignition cylinder. It looks like it's one of the only issues with this vehicle and is known by the dealerships. Dealership only advises to purchase new vehicle with "push to start." this will be our first and last vw.
After replacing three right side headlight bulbs in my 20k miles of ownership, last week both headlights went out at the same time while driving down the highway. I heard a strange noise as if a relay was continuously being triggered. I have heard lots of strange relay sounds(chatter)from beneath the dash of this vehicle. I checked fuses; though volkswagen does not provide or publicly publish fuse box diagrams,i was able to confirm continuity on each fuse.my next step was to change the headlight bulbs so as usual i bout the top of the linebulb for the car, this didn't change a thing. I brought the car into a volkswagen dealer who claims the bulbs just burnt out at the same time because i was using "aftermarket bulbs". In other words, i would have to bring my car into the dealer to replace simple electrical components such as bulbs and fuses. As an electronics specialist working in research and design i find the rate at which the bulbs are failing to be both alarming and indicative of a problem some where else in light power circuit (relays, shorts, tolerances) . It seems like many other vw jetta owners for 2011-2014 are having this issue. I am veryunhappy with the fact that i have to bring my car in to a shop to have headlights replaced. While at the same time vw publishes no information for the vehicle owner to troubleshoot these issues on their own. Kinda seems wrong, maybe illegal.
On thursday, may 29th, i was driving my 2014 vw jetta hybrid sel premium (~165 miles on odometer) when the epc and battery light came on the dash. At the same time, the gas engine shut off. I was able to get the vehicle to restart. Same issue happened two additional times before i got the vehicle to the dealership the next morning. I picked up the vehicle monday, june 2nd, from the dealership (~387 miles on odometer) stating that the vehicle was in working order and they could not get the problem to duplicate. The dealership put approximately 200 miles on the new vehicle to diagnose it. About an hour after picking up the vehicle (~393 miles on odometer), the vehicle did the exact same thing, except this time i was in a parking lot. The vehicle is back at the dealer and they are having an engineer come and diagnose the vehicle.
In traffic, the single low tone horn on the jetta is barely audible. The vw dealer service manager saysthe horn is standard, andacceptable to them and will not replace it.is a vehicle horn a safety issue? yes. If the horn does not give out sound which is audible on the roadway, what good is it? why is a horn required for a vehicle inspection sticker? why not just install a bicycle jingle horn?there arehorns that are loud, after market. The jetta horn is weak and dangerous. Plus, it is not loud enough to be heard in a parking lot when looking foryour vehicle, which is another safety issue for women at night.
Vehicle ignition switch sticks. Sometimes it is hard to turn on other times it is very difficult to turn off.condition is getting worse.
After exiting the freeway and got to the overpass i had to stop, after a accelerated the engine shut down, lost all electrical power except for the radio, fortunately after the overpass was a downgrade so the car was able to coast to safety on to the shoulder. This has not been the first incident where the vehicle has lost complete power while driving in city streets. This is my wife's car, she had complained to me of the car not starting after she gotten off work, we tried to jump started it and it still would not start, so it had to wait till i got off from work. Soon asi got to the vehicle after my shift, i tried to crank start it and the vehicle started with out hesitation. While driving in the city street, after making a stop the vehicle engine shut off, i was unaware since the radio was still playing, so my wife pointed out this had been happening to her as well, even after we replaced the battery. So i took the vehicle to my mechanic and he mentioned that this could be an alternator problem, so we replaced the alternator as well, but the vehicle continues to shut down or it just won't start. I decided to check the wiring to the battery and to the distributor and after doing this the vehicle will start up again. Last episode was on 11/15/2019 as i exited the freeway on my way to work. When i got home i remembered that my wife had handed me a couple of latters from the vw dealer witch we had omitted since we bought the vehicle used in a car lot. This is how i found out that these letters where notices of the recalls on this particular vehicle. I shared this with a friend that claims he also had the same problem with a vw vehicle he owned, he explained that the problem in his unknown vw model, the electrical wiring was at fault. I'm scheduled to bring the vehicle in for a recall for the key column, witch is not associated to the problem according to vw rep.
Low beam issue, i have had to replace my headlight numerous times and they keep going out without the bulb being bad
Car was purchased at the end of nov, 2013 at three county volkswagen in nj. Two issues were noticed the next day:(1) remote only works very close to the car. (less than 10 ft)(2) bluetooth audio streaming function never work properly more than 10mins.car was sent to dealer at dec 30. I was told few days later: a) new part need to be ordered and had no idea how long should i wait; b)more than 12 people were in the waiting list for the backup car. I had no choice but took my car back since i need a car to commute. Around jan. 10, i was told new part was received and car was sent to dealer again. Few days later i was told issues were not solved after replacing the part and further assistance was needed from volkswagen. I was told the assistance from volkswagen still did not solve the problem and "other kind" of further assistance was needed from volkswagen at jan. 16. I had to wait longer. I was told "other kind" of further assistance from volkswagen did not solve the problem neither and the dealer had no idea what they can do except waiting. I had no choice but took my car back again. Till now, the car has been in dealer more than 3 weeks which i only had owned this car 8 weeks, and these issues are still there.
Purchased car new in oct. 12, 2013 with 23 mi on it. On november 6, 2013 i was driving down interstate 65 mph and without warning lost all power to the vehicle; lost power steering and brakes. Able to pull to side of road and veh started right back up. Took veh to dealer they said nothing was wrong with the car. On dec. 14, 2013,veh stalled while stopped at a light with no warning. Started back up after several attempts. On feb 18, 2014, vehicle shut down again while at a stop light again with no warning. Took to dealer who performed a system update and assured me problem was solved. On may 31, 2014, power port failed. Took into dealer they replaced fuse. One week later it failed again. Service advisor said to leave the phone charger in the port that it blows fuses when pulled out. On july 2, 2014 vehicle shut down on me again while driving on highway losing all power steering and brakes-this time barely able to safely get to side of road. Taking vehicle in again to dealer today.
In the following, lb/hb is low beam, high beam:' the dashboard indicator for hb is always on, even when the steering column lever is on lb and lights are really lb.' the turn signal dashboard light blinks fast -- like there is a burnt-out bulb -- but they actually flash fine.' when the steering column lever is set to hb, all lights on the driver side are dead; or, the hb bulb doesn't light at all and the lb bulb goes faint.' when i turn the lights off when the engine is running, they stay on' say i'm driving at night all everything is fine. I turn the car off; when i start it up again seconds later, the lights are messed upfinally, the lights usually stay either working or are messed up while driving, but once in a while, they will go from working to messed up or vice versa while driving. But i work at night and live only one mile from my job, so i have not had this car on the road at night for any significant length of time.the most common scenario is that the car has sat for hours; i start it, and the lights are either messed up or working fine, and they stay that way until the car is turned off and started again.
Ignition locked and locked the steering wheel as well. Cannot get car started
Key gets stuck in ignition and i cannot turn off the engine."
We drove our 2014 v/w jetta to grocery store and vehicle was parked in the parking lot while my husband was sitting in it waiting for me to return no more than 20 minutes the vehicle engine light came on and begin flashing and turned off and would not turn back on.we called aaa for towing and an extra battery but the batter was working fine.almost 2 hours later waiting for 2nd tow truck to come and tow the vehicle, it turned over and we managed to drive 2 miles home and the car started one more time and has not turned back on since.we had vehicle towed to the dealer and the dealer says it is engine problem and we have to pay $396 to pay for repair.we have had this brand new vehicle for 9 months and it has burned my husband back and now it doesn't work.....
The door locks wont work, keeps just clicking, this is a safety feature when driving alone or stopping at red lights, anyone can enter your vehicle at anytime.the key gets stuck in ignition wont turn.headlights keep blowing
My jetta began having issues starting once driven. It progressed to stalling while idling and at traffic lights. It further progressed to stalling while driving, slowing for turns ect.the emc relay was replaced by mechanic.apparently this is a common problem that needs to be recalled by volkswagen
I started the car with the key fob from the dealership and upon returning home found that the key would no longer turn back/disengage/come out of the ignition (key hole on the steering column). The car now runs non-stop until the fuel is gone. There are no other items/keys attached to the key fob to give any kind of added weight or bend to the key fob. Upon looking online, i've realized this to be a common problem within the community of jetta owners and now know the the issue is covered under an extended warranty for model years 2012-2013 which really makes me wonder if vw knew about the problem and just didn't care since the issue still occurs in newer models. I think this should be covered under another extended warranty from volkswagen, or added to the existing extended warranty of the 2012-2013 model jettas.
The contact owns a 2014 volkswagen jetta. The contact stated that she was experiencing some electrical problems with her vehicle. While driving approximately 30 mph the abs light came on and would not go off. The contact made no mention of whether the failure was diagnosed by a mechanic.the failure mileage was 15. Updated 8/12/14
The ignition switch locks, cannot turn off vehicle. This happens with either of the two ignition keys supplied by dealer.
I been trying to get my sticker since last year ....i haven't been able tocause of the re call. I been driving expires tags....am annoy already with this recall t the dealer should had told me since tha begging...my car keeping losing oil and and. Can i just get a refund
I purchased my 2014 jetta se 1.8t. Dealer on march 24 th 2014.i was nevernotified of the recall .i never went back got service there however the same dealer reported this recall was performed https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2014/rcmn-14v182-3299my concern is that i have experienced numerous issues 1 with the charcoal canister which was directly related to the fuelrail recall and cause my car to shows signs of s failing turbo while under warranty and i was told it was not covered .however this jetta a6. Is pzve vehicle and covered up to 12 -15 years 150,000 miles the first claim i filed was not honored by vw. And i wash told i could drive my car w/o issue. Then my transmission. Fails and i am certain my fuel problem my engine like my epc light and all the above are related. But in this case the fact that i was never contacted aboutthis recall and it does show according to their records 3 days after i drove off the loti was later informed by former techs that it never happened which makes selfie as i never returned to that lot until 10/28/2016.so it was not done. I have been approached numerous times while driving being told that s flame existed under my vehicle while driving but i did not put it to anythingnow i realize and feel as though i was sold a lemon or car containing faults that were unforeseen car literally just quit after driving off mckenna lot after service dtla vw claims i may have a failing turbo error code read but never addressed until after i left w car service performed by vw pacific left me pulling off vw lot. W 1/4 filled pulling off vw lot.then called vwcredit claims told to go to my dealer where i was told leave when i bevsn upset about my info not being in the dealership systemhow did they preform. It
My car is not registering a key and vw doesn't seem to care.
The vehicle's ignition gets stuck.
Key gets stuck in the ignition when turning off engine.
One day i was pulling out of a parking lot onto a small street with a slight hill. Felt like the car was stalling but i thought maybe i didn't press on the gas hard enough. The car rolled slightly backwards until i hit the brakes. I tried pressing the gas harder. Next thing i knew, the engine was off and battery warning light came on. A couple of other lights came on as well, but those come on and then go off often so i don't know what to make of that. The next day i was driving down the road and as i slowed down with traffic approaching stop light the vehicle started to shake as if it was trying to quit on me. I pulled over into a bank parking lot to stop and restart the car. Another light came on but it is off now. I'm worried that this will happen again and result in an accident. Not sure what is wrong or if the vehicle is safe to drive.
Key gets stuck in ignition when turning off the engine.
My vehicle; for months now, has either not started up right away or shut off while driving through city streets and a major freeway. While driving the car loses power but the battery has power. Power steering becomes lost and i have to push the vehicle off the road or freeway. The vehicle has a rough idol when this occurs and becomes unsafe to handle and carefully remove from a busy road.i have taken it in to vw service multiple times and thetcannot fix it. No code comes up on their diagnostic computer and no check engine dash lights illuminate. This issue seems as though it is impossible to fix by the dealership who sold it to me, and self diagnosing is out of my league.
Key gets stuck in ignition when turning off the engine.
Key gets stuck in the ignition when turning off the engine.cannot turn the engine off.the key will not return to the off position.
Excessive stalling at intersections, almost hit when making a right turn because the car stalled. Restart the car and works fine, but is getting more frequent.
The contact owns a 2014 volkswagen jetta. The contact stated that the vehicle experienced intermittent failures with the electrical system, which caused the lights, horn, and battery to fail, and the radio to overheat. Also, the abs and air bag warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to heritage volkswagen of south atlanta (located at 4305 jonesboro road, union city, ga), but was not diagnosed. The vehicle taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the ecu was defective and needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to nhtsa. The failure mileage was 103,000.
2014 jetta tsi: opening & closing doors, glove box, and trunk causes the fuel pump to engage, you can even hear it. This causes fumes to accumulate in my garage to a high level. The fuel pump recall has been done per dealership. Imo the fuel pump shouldn't engage until the key is turned in the ignition. It is not a fuel leak, in the presence of an ignition source. It is a fuel leak, in the presence of opening & closing doors, glove box, and trunk. I have discussed with vw and their opinion is that "that is the way it works". The vehicle was parked in my single car garage and not running. This continues to happen on a regular bases.
While driving on the overpass the car cutoff almost hit from behind by a dump truck would not crank back up for 7 minutes.airbag light on show malfunction of airbag
Key gets stuck in the ignition, when trying to cut the car off
Epc warning light came on suddenly; vehicle throttled down and continued to buck and stall out; loss of power and speed. Very dangerous while in traffic. No specific diagnostic code(s) were saved or triggered. This causes costly and unneeded diagnostics and repairs
Car ignition stopped working well after some months of purchased. Now, car ignition is hard and takes several times for starting the car. It's is dangerous in an emergency occasion that i don't have my car ready.
The contact owns a 2014 volkswagen jetta. While driving various speeds, the vehicle jerked and hesitated. The vehicle was taken to alexandria volkswagen (107 west glebe rd, alexandria, va) where it was diagnosed that transmission fluid leaked from the vehicle and the gasket and oil pan needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. In addition, the key became stuck and fractured inside the ignition switch. The failure was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failures, but no assistance was offered. The contact was informed that the vin was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 14v182000 (power train). The failure mileage was 60,000.
The car can be turned on, however, once the key is in you can not turn the engine off and the key becomes stuck in the ignition. You have to disconnect the battery in order to shut the engine off. The key remains stuck
I have 2014 vw jetta the car has horn problem and also some electrical problem. Horn sometimes working sometimes not. This is serious safety problem should be fixed. Dealer try to charge me the diagnostic fee and also repair cost.
After having the car for a year, the injector coil pack malfunction. The car would sputter and slow down speed while driving and would stop. I went through 3 replacements. When the car is idle, the car shakes or like it is stressing itself to work hard being idle. The key ignition is now giving problems. The car will not recognize the key and will not turn on. If you hold the key at a certain angle it will turn on but it is hard to take the key out of ignition.
Hello, i noticed my speedometer on my 2014 jetta se is incorrect by a wider margin than the federal 5 percent. I took it back to dealer with no help. They stated it can't be calibrated. With the speedometer incorrect, this means the odometer is incorrect too,in which it will hit the warranty period sooner, incorrectly that is. I also contacted volkwagen corporate and am waiting on a reply. I would like this issue fixed without receiving the runaround,so i decided to let the highway admin know of this issue,as other issues have led to class action lawsuits with other manufacturers.[xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).
The contact owns a 2014 volkswagen jetta. The contact stated that the ignition switch was malfunctioning. The contact had to wiggle the key in order to turn the engine off. The contact stated that the key fractured and became stuck in the ignition switch. The dealer (leesburg volkswagen, 9105 us-441, leesburg, fl 34788, (352) 815-2465) acknowledged the failure and stated that there were no recalls. The contact had an independent mechanic come to his home to remove the key and repair the ignition switch. The manufacturer acknowledged the contact's concern, but still wanted to charge him for the repairs. The failure mileage was 90,127.
O ring transmissions leak, epc light, cooling fan

Issues with my 2014 vw jetta started march 2018.my car had a rough idle that would physically impact the car causing the car to jerk.when decreasing speeds my car would jerk.my car has stalled multiple times while in motion and while coming to a complete stop.i have had issues with my engine mil light and battery light when my car stalled and completely lost power.upon the first occurrence, i brought my vehicle to the dealership and they informed me i had to get my spark plugs changed, cam sensor replaced, and an induction service.after completion of this work, my car continued to have the same symptoms.after returning to the car dealership they then determined that my timing chain, tensioner, and bridge needed to be replaced.after this repair was completed my oil light came and i took my car back in for an oil change.during the oil change, the service rep informed me that they did not see anything wrong and that i needed to make an appointment to have another diagnostic test donei wanted a second opinion because this whole situation was exacerbating my anxiety and i did not trust the dealership or vw.please see the attached word document for full report.
Stationary, in motion, and when turning--airbag light is on, horn doesn't work, cruise control switch doesn't work and steering wheel buttons do not work. Purchased this vehicle from a toyota dealership two months ago--with only 30k miles. At 34k miles when this problem occurred.
My car has had many problems and has not been able to be fixed through the dealership. All problems occurred after 50,000 miles. The engine seems to run and start hard. The car would not accelerate when driving. It would rev up but no motion until something eventually switched into gear, while in motion on streets and highway. It will act like this for awhile without triggering a code. I would bring it to the dealership and would be told it was nothing. Eventually it will trigger the epc code, but the code will disappear the next time the car is turned on. About 4 days after that the engine light comes on. Volkswagen dealership has "fixed" this issue once before stating that it was a manufacture defect. They covered the cost, but since then it has happened again and they state that now i am responsible for covering the repair, when it wasn't fixed correctly or diagnosed correctly in the first place. I have missed numerous days of work, and have been without a car do to diagnosis/ repairs for over 2 months in this past year. This should not happen with only 56,000 miles on a car.
While driving on busy city road car just stopped/died in middle of traffic.it also has major issues not restarting after i turn it off.
Last year i started noticing my engine was running very odd. The low engine oil light never came on. I had barely any oil left so i got an oil change thinking that was the issue. A couple weeks later, it started running odd again. I checked the dipstick and it was low on oil again. This kept happening for months. I recently took it to vw service shop to get it confirmed if there was an issue with oil consumption. They told to come back to do an oil consumption test for $300. I didn't want to pay that much just for a test so i asked my friend that worked there if they knew anything. Turns out, the service techs know its a common issue with jettas and it would cost $4k to get my engine replaced to fix the issue. I bought the in 2017 and was so close to paying it off this year.........not worth it..... :(
While driving the vehicle, it starts to stall or have stalled while slowing down or sitting in rush hour traffic; or while stopped at a red light.
As i was accelerating onto the highway on-ramp, my car made a loud cracking sound and smoke immediately began to come out of from under the hood of my car. I was unable to accelerate and i steered the car to the highway shoulder. All the service and warning lights on my vehicle were now on. I immediately turned off my vehicle. After waiting a few minutes for the smoke to dissipate, i opened the hood and noted oil on the floor. Upon further inspection, it became clear that there was a large crack/hole in the engine block which appears to have been caused by a blown piston. My vehicle had approximately 63,000 miles and had just received an oil change 5 days prior. This caused me to file a claim with the company that provided the oil change. Per the report attached, the company's insurance inspector determined that the engine failure was not a result of the oil change. See inspector's report and pictures attached, with personal information redacted. The vehicle is currently not functional. Based on additional research, this i believe this may be a result of a timing chain issue that affects a variety of vw models. However, based on vin lookup and discussion with vw customer care, my vin has not yet been determined to be covered under the timing chain extended warranty stipulated in bulletin vwp-18-07.
The contact owns a 2014 volkswagen jetta. While driving various speeds, the coolant pump failed. An independent mechanic assessed the vehicle and stated that an unknown liquid sealant was applied to the coolant pump. The independent mechanic flushed the coolant pump and, after test driving the vehicle, a brown foam exited from the coolant pump sealing. The independent mechanic diagnosed that the liquid sealant (brown foam-like material) created a blockage within the heater core and caused the heater to fail within the vehicle in cold temperatures. Volkswagen of downtown chicago (1111 north clark street, chicago, illinois 60610, (312) 614-0196) was made aware of the failure via voicemail. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 69,000.
Crank car cut off like im out of gas... Wiring is bad powertrain as well due to code p0341 sensor
The horn does not work, engine light stays on while driving or in park, when you put gas in the vehicle you have to press the accelerator for it to start otherwise it will cut off, heater blows a little on 2 other than that blows out cool air
Stopped for pedestrian crossing the street, normal stop, took my foot off the brake, stepped on the gas and nothing! car stalled and i could not move. Traffic was backing up behind me and the car wouldn't move. Put it in park, turned it off and on, after two minutes it finally worked when i stepped on the gas. Did the same thing about two weeks later...twice in one day! took it to the dealer the same day it happened first, told me i had an engine software recall, spent two hours at the dealer. They told me it was "fixed." two weeks later, at a stop sign and then a red light, did the same thing. Brought it to another deal that night, who told me there was no loaner cars available, took the car for three days! they called back and said they could not recreate the problem, therefore they were giving me back the car. I don't feel safe!! have had numerous other problems with the car since october 2013, has been in the shop 8 times in 6 months.... Now affected by the o-ring recall!
Transmission oil cooler leaking transmission oil. Took to volkswagen dealership and they attempted repair and i left in the dealership and was driving and the car start smoking and leaking oil all over the road.
Event's started last year in december. Vehicle started experiencing inconsistent rpms at idle noticeably after 1 minute that will fluctuate between 600 to 900, even spiking to 1.2k rpms. Recorded a video as evidence (vw mechanic said that meant nothing to him at "~30-40+ years experience"). When slowing to a stop at an intersection, engine will sometimes cease (some say stall) and no longer operate. Vehicle will run on the high-way. Will start around 80% of the time after 'stall' regarding reducing speed to stop. Local auto-parts shop code read "p0011 cam...bank 1 over-advanced". My car is a se 1.8l tsi. Repair estimate is over $3,000 for what vw dealer had quoted as a "stretched time-chain and faling tensioner." (paid over $150 for diagnostic.) vw mechanics never took a look inside engine to prove their findings according to verbal interaction. Wouldn't provide answers to questions i asked. Mileage problems became noticeable: around 100,000 vehicle miles. Vehicle had no issues at time of purchase. Requesting recall repair as remedy. To my knowledge vehicle is within nominal maintenance recommendations prior to issue.vehicle is currently parked. Additionally, key-lock column has malfunctioned as key was stuck with engine running. Key would be very warm to the touch. No idea why or how it is possible. Request recall to fix engineering error without or significantly reduced expenses. What documentation/supplemental evidence is available upon request. Average speed for observation of issue is up to 40-45 mph. Vw dealer withholds parts number information for parts specific to my vehicle. Withheld my diagnostic report after verbal expression "...proprietary information." did not get this response after paying for one before.
I only have 37,000 miles in my car and was bought as certified car from vw dealer. Car makes engine noise while idling and diagnosis is that radiator cooling fan assembly needs to be replaced which costs $740.00 per vw dublin, ca dealer. I cannot expect radiator fan to go out at such low mileage and i have seen so many threads on this issue / topic while googling... This seems to be an issue with vw jetta or vw in general. Consumers cannot be held accountable or responsible to pay for such expensive repairs with only 37,000 miles driven and cooling fan failing. This has to be a design/engineering issue and needs to be recalled by volkswagen.
My 2014 vw jetta has only 45,000 miles and is out of warranty is burning up to 5 quarts every month. I just paid it off back in may of this year. Can vw be liable to fixed it at no charge? what are my options if any?
I was driving my 2014 jetta se (14 months ago 13658 miles on the car) on november 25, 2015, when it completely stopped on highway 101 in california at 4 pm on the day before thanksgiving. I was at a complete stop when the engine turned off. I turned off my car and restarted it and the engine was shaking badly (from side to side) and the more i drove the car the more lights started turning on. I was stuck in major holiday traffic and almost got hit on numerous occasions and got honked at multiple times because i was unable to keep up in traffic due to the violent shaking of the vehicle. Going above 25 miles an hour caused the car to make a loud noise and shake even more vigorously, making it impossible and dangerous to drive. The first lights to turn on included the epc, oil light (engine low oil) and engine (emission control light). However, as i drove the car more, to pull over to safety because i was unable to pull over at the current place i broke down, the more lights started to turn on such as the tire pressure system. I had to be towed to the nearest dealer who said 3 of my 4 ignition coils were misfiring. I got the car back on december 1, 2015 and my car broke down again on december 4, 2015, with the same problem. It was brought back into a different dealer due to breaking down in a different area. The ignition coils have failed again, causing my engine to shut down and putting me in a vulnerable place. I am lucky that my engine failed on a city street the second time compared to a busy highway but this car is not safe and i am lucky to be alive, because the first break down on a major highway was not only scary but a life-threatening situation.
I also suffer from major oil loss in my 2014 jetta se 1.8.i had codes pop up telling me to replace some sensors, and turns out my oil was just very low.within the first month i had the vehicle, purchased used in 2020, the engine was completely dry causing me to question the dealership's promise that an oil change wasn't done.i just replaced the pcv valve, but now i'm getting p0301 and p03af codes, and my car barely made it to work this morning.i had a successful test drive last night without any issues, but now i'm afraid to drive it at all without putting the old valve back in.
Diesel exhaust smell enters cabin through interior climate control vents.smell is originating from rear of engine, smell is pure un treated diesel exhaust.dealer has replaced several components but to no avail.unable to find any sign of leak with smoke or pressure testing.smell enters cabin when vehicle is stationary, worse when cold or when engine is in the midst of a diesel particulate filter regeneration.vwoa says normal and operates like other vehicles.refusing to send lead tech out to investigate.i currently own two of the same model of engine as in this car and other car has never smelled like diesel exhaust in 30,000+ miles.there is a small leak in the exhaust system that is obviously hard to identify.vwoa says it is ok for me to breathe diesel fumes.
Went to start my car and car would not start.called local vw dealer.they thought i should try to get a jump for the battery.i knew it was not the battery, as it is a new car.they suggested i call vw roadside assistance, which i did.the car was towed to the closest vw dealer.was told the car was in hydrolock andice was found in the hose and intercooler.after removing the glow plugs, ice was also found in the cylinders. In addition, ice was also found in the oil and oil pan.i was told by the service manager that this was a known issue for vehicles in the northeast.the "fix" was to install an updated intercooler, pressure sensor and valve in the front of throttle body.my concern is that if this is a "known issue"why is there no recall.also, i feel that the engine has been comprised being that there was ice found in multiple places. I called the dealer where the car was purchased (not same dealer that did repair) and let them know about it.i was also seeking an extended warranty so whatever damage was done to the engine would be covered in the future. Dealer told me to call vw directly, which i did and got nowhere.i was told that there was still a lot of time left on my current warranty and if something did happen to the engine after the original warranty was expired, they would take this incident into consideration.not very reassuring to someone who drives over 100miles per day.
Car began using excessive oil in last year. Started about 60,000 miles. Currently 69,000.today would not start and no low oil light. Checked oil and low. Added 1 quart in a 4 quart system car started, ran. Dealership saysthey all burn oil .some burn a quart every 1500 miles. The 2.0 liter turbo engine im finding is the culpirt. Have one other in cara tiguan but no problem yet (2018 model year). If this oil get low as driving with no check oil light coming on 1( can it stall and possibly cause accident.or 2) kill motor and loose power to all and possibly cause accident?any other complaints? any help as what to do?thank you
Upon arrival at destination key will not come out of ignition, this has happen on 12 occasions. Transmission is leaking around oil ring which may cause it to flow in coolant. Dealership stated recalls are out just not my vin number. I would like for this vin to be included, asap.
I purchased my car in mid-feb 2014 and it performed flawlessly the winter of 2014.i started my car on monday jan 5 (oat +5f) let it idle for a minute and drove 35 mi to work on the highway (rpm >2500), i don't have a temp gauge, but my car did not seem to warm up like normal. (usually its warm after about 3 mi, and hot after 10-15). After work (+8hrs later) i started my car (oat +15f), letting it idle for a minute then drove out of the parking garage (~100') and my car lost power, and had a flashing glow plug light, i believe this was limp mode. I pulled into a parking lot, let my car idle for a few minutes and there was no change. I shut the car off, waited a minute or two, and restarted the engine, appeared to run fine and i continued my drive home. I pulled my vagcom codes and saw that p0299, low boost pressure, i attempted to get my car into the dealer, but they were too busy. I did not drive my car tuesday, but drove it to and from work wednesday without a problem. On thursday morning i started my car (-5f), it idled for less than a minute and then died. It continued to turn over, but would not start. I pulled the codes again (did not clear them from earlier in the week) and saw that i had a new fault p0087, low fuel pressure.i had my car towed to the dealer (vw roadside is slow, but free) and did not hear anything from the dealer until friday afternoon. I was told that ice was discovered in my intercooler and that it had been replaced and the cold weather kit was installed.
When the vehicle downshifts to lower gears the engine stutters and eventually stalls out
Bought the car may 1st 201413 miles on it...all of may seemed to run ok...then from june until now sept 2015 it has a non responsive gas pedal.same problem as entry in may 2013.it scares me to death!!!can't get past 30 mph trying to get onto the freeway....crossing traffic from lights...trying to change lanes....scares me when i see a big semi barreling down on me and i can't get out of the way and he is blaring his horn giving me the finger and yelling....this on several occasions. I have taken it into 2 different vw shops...they cant duplicate it so therefore there isn't anything wrong...no codes...also hazzard light on seat belt lite on and dinging...took 3 mo to fix those....yet seat belt still does......one day its ok next not.worst now is it is tearing my 2011 fusion apart and the pain is excruciating.vw would not take the car back...bbb was involved until i casted the foot for relief....vw offered me one mo free payment...that i didn't take because i wanted them to take the car back.then june july august the gas mileage drops by nearly 100 miles and they say it is because i used the air condition...hardly...aug got only 254 mpg....i don't feel safe in this car.i tried to enter this last year but apparently it didn't take it.
The contact owns a 2014 volkswagen jetta. The contact stated that the vehicle leaked transmission fluid. The vehicle was taken to ken garff volkswagen (115 e university pkwy, orem, ut 84058, 801-714-2300) where it was diagnosed that the o ring fractured. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified and referred the contact to nhtsa. The failure mileage was approximately 60,100.
Ignition locked and locked the steering wheel as well. Cannot get car started
The contact owns a 2014 volkswagen jetta. While driving approximately 60 mph, the vehicle began to hesitate and the vehicle stalled. The contact parked, turned off, and restarted the vehicle; however, the failure recurred. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the intake air flat needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, when driving in cold inclement weather, the failure recurred. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer where it was diagnosed that an unknown sensor was frozen. The vehicle was not repaired. The check engine warning light and the glow plug warning light remained illuminated. The contact notified the manufacturer who advised the contact not to drive the vehicle. The failure mileage was 21,758.
Epc warning light came on suddenly; vehicle throttled down and continued to buck and stall out; loss of power and speed. Very dangerous while in traffic. No specific diagnostic code(s) were saved or triggered. This causes costly and unneeded diagnostics and repairs
My car's transmission oil cooler is leaking transmission oil all over my car/under my car. My mechanic diagnosed the issue. I took it to vw dealership for another diagnostic only for them to not fix the car after 700.00 and i was told the car was fixed until i drove it 10 min down the road and the car was smoking and leaking oil everywhere. The car almost caught on fire due to the leak.
The contact owns 2014 volkswagen jetta. The contact stated that while driving 40-50 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the technician diagnosed that a unknown sensor needed to be replaced. No repairs were made to the vehicle. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 160 and the current mileage was 210.
My vehicle started flashing the engine light.then its started stalling.i turned it off ,waited a couple minutes and it was fine to drive but still had the engine light on.nothing happened until the next day, the engine light wasnt on anymore. As i was driving at 70 mph it started stalling again. Took it to a shop and they told me i had a couple of codes on.it was cleared just to make sure it wasnt something else.after about 100 miles of driving the engine light turned on again and the car started stalling again at around 65mph.i changed the spark plugs and the spark plug wires. Runs great until another 100miles of driving, it started stalling at around 75mph.everytime the light comes on, i turn the car off wait a couple minutes and turn it back on with out any signs of misfiring.
Takata recall. Driving on highway trying to speed up and epc light came on engine check light came on and started flashing and skid light came on. Car began to slow down, seem like shut off and i had to pull over on the side of the freeway. Would shut car off and turn back on, epc light and skid light would go away but engine check light would remain.
I just bought this car in 2016 at 30k miles and it currently has only 50k miles the engine suffered catastrophic engine failure due to a faulty timing chain tensioner that the manufacturer will not recall or replace. I've read that this is a common issue with vw and audi 2.0t engines in some cases i've heard of engines fires as well as power failure on freeways that caused potentially deadly accidents, lost of handling loss of power in general. Luckily this occurred to me while not in motion but instead in a driveway. My car has been out of service for 6 months now and is no longer covered by the manufacture warranty and will be forced to pay for this out of pocket.
Key gets stuck in ignition when turning off the engine. Unable to turn off engine.
Transmission problems? once my car got up to 80,000 miles when in traffic i take my foot off the accelerator while in drive and then accelerate sometimes there's a jerking as if the car doesn't know what gear to be in. Normally happens at any speed typically while driving slowing down and accelerating. Date when it started i really started noticing it in january 2019. I also noticed excessive oil consumption and when oil gets low on dipstick no low oil light on dash. Oil gets lower than dipstick. Dipstick becomes dry but no sound difference in engine and still runs normally.
The contact owns a 2014 volkswagen jetta. The contact stated that during cold weather conditions, the vehicle failed to start. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that there was a condensation built up in the inter cooling.the vehicle was repaired. The contact was offered to purchase an upgrade kit to prevent the failure from reoccurring. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 57,000.
Dealership has had my car for 100 days and still not fixed.2014 - 2 clutches and a rebuilt transmission later. Car was returned, same day 5th gear went out again on interstate 95 almost killed my son.
The service light on my vehicle came on 4-5-18 when i arrived home. I turned off my car and turned it back on as the service light was no longer on. On friday april 6, 2018 i went to the store and came back home as the vehicle was operating properly and parked on my driveway. Approximately one hour later i went to return some items as the vehicle will not crank over. My vehicle was towed to a near by vw dealership and four days later i was informed that the timing chain jumped and may have caused damage to my motor. I was informed that it may cost anywhere from $2,000.00 to $10,000.00. I was inform that a new motor will cost $10,000.00. While viewing the internet i noticed multiple complaints, issues and law suits pertaining to this similar issue. Why is this not a re-call with multiple complainants?
2014 jetta with 90000 miles stalls all the time in cold weather.it will just shut off when coming to a stop in traffic or stop signs and red lights.i almost got ran over by a large 18 wheeler when vehicle stalled in baltimore tunnel.someone is going to get hurt unless there is a recall for this issue, please report this issue if it occurring to you.
More than 10 time for the past 4 months, car intermittently stalled at stop signs, traffic lights, or ezpass tunnel. It happened when the car is either at a complete stop or at a very low speed. One time it suddenly shut down on a highway during traffic jam. Took to dealer for half day in october but was not able to identify why and did nothing to fix.*ln
At 13k miles the engine hydrolocked due to icing in the intercooler.car is a 2014 jetta tdi value edition.they "fixed it" by a vw tsb.turns out it is a very well known issue.condensation freezes in the intercooler at low temps (below 25 deg), then melts and is sucked in when you start your car (or try) the next morning.
This is a 2014 volkswagen jetta sportwagen tdi (turbo diesel)i commute from charlotte, nc to detroit, mi approx once every 3 weeks.i travelled from a cold (15f), wet climate, to a warmer climate (34f), and parked my vehicle overnight. The next morning, the car would not turn over, and acted like the battery was dead. I checked the battery, and it was 13.9vdc. I continued to try to start the vehicle, each time the starter motor just making a grinding noise and not turning over. I left the vehicle for approx 20 minutes, and tried again, when it eventually turned over, all the warning lights on the dash came on, and the car idled very roughly at aprox 400 rpm. I tried to increase the rpm, and eventually (5 minutes of gently pushing the accelerator) it got up to 800-900 rpm. I tried to drive, and the car stumbled and sputtered for a while before getting up to normal speed.this has happened 5 times total so far. 3 times dead battery / hydro lock situation occurred1 time the car ran roughly, and then when i pulled out onto the main road the car stumbled, died, and would not let me accelerate. I quickly put the hazard flasher light on, and somehow avoided a collision with the cars around me. 1 time the car ran roughly for approx 5 minutes, then ran smoothly the rest of the trip.i'm worried that i've damaged the engine
At operating temperature, after 20 minutes, engine quits when coming to a stop. Engine also has a hesitation when starting from a stop.reported to volkswagen of america and they opened a case number. They also told me to take to dealer which i did and the dealer kept for two days but did nothing to fix. Returned to me. I asked to upgrade to another vehicle, but sales manager said that i would "take a big hit".
The engine stalled while driving down the highway. The glow plug light started flashing and then the engine started losing power. The acceleration slowed to a halt and then the engine just shut off. I coasted to the side of the road and had to be towed away. The vehicle would not start again.
The car stalls intermittently upon initial acceleration. Brought vehicle to two different dealerships for diagnostic. The responses were: "vehicle is found to be operating normally when compared to same or similar type vehicle." and "compare car to a diff car, both car act the same."
Car shuts off while driving on highway.lost all power.pulled over, placed in park, and then the car started.engine light stayed on.happen multiple times.i don't feel safe driving this car
The contact owns a 2014 volkswagen jetta. The contact stated that the vehicle was driving sluggish and was slow to accelerate in any gear. In addition, various warning indicators illuminated. The contact was not able to drive over a certain rate of speed. The vehicle drastically drove slowly and then raced into third gear. The dealer diagnosed that the fuel injection may be at fault, but provided no specific diagnosis. The failure continued. The dealer stated that the o-ring needed to be replaced. If that did not provide a solution, the transmission may need to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vin was invalid. The failure mileage was not available.
The contact owns a 2014 volkswagen jetta. While driving various speeds, the engine suddenly shut off. After approximately ten minutes, the vehicle was restarted. The vehicle was taken to three county volkswagen (701 riverside ave, lyndhurst, nj), but the cause of the failure was not determined. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vin was not available. The failure mileage was 40,000.
Engine seized with no prior warning. The oil light or temperature light did not come on prior to car stalling with a seized engine. We were driving on the highway at highway speed when all of a sudden the car would not accelerate and an epc light came on, not a check engine light. When we pulled over the car stalled with all the warning lights on. The dealership told me the next day that the engine had seized. I have changed the oil every 10000 miles with synthetic oil. There is no reason this should have happened.
Its leaking from the cooling part its get very hot.
Car engine just died while in drive, usually while slowing down and coming to a stop. When brought in for repair, a fuel engine was replaced. Two weeks later the problem began occurring again. Another part was replaced. Four months later, the problem has returned. The engine starts to shake will in idle with foot on break. And then shuts off.
A 5 year old car with under 70k miles is now in the shop having the timing chain replaced.this is about half the miles and years that should be expected to go without timing chain problems.
While driving on the highway, my car began to stop accelerating by itself. Once the rpm exceeded three, the epc light came on. Further on down the road, the check engine light came on, so i had the codes read and was told to replace the camshaft position sensor. The following day i had this part replaced and proceeded to drive on the highway again. The lights came on once again and an additional light came on as well. This time the car slowed down so much that i was almost hit trying to get to the shoulder of the highway.
I purchased a 2014 vw jetta, brand new from vw boise in idaho. On 3 occasions, i reported an issue with the car shaking/losing acceleration power while driving (a serious safety issue). In october 2015, ihad it in for service and explained the situation to them again, they assured me that a software update would fix it. On 12/02/2015, i was driving to pick up my daughter after work and a car in front of me was turning. I braked and the car started to shake and stutter. I let off of the brake and lightly pressed the gas to accelerate and the car started shaking violently. I immediately turned into the parking lot and my car blew a cloud of exhaust and died. I had to wait over 25 minutes before i was able to speak with a rep from vw roadside and then i had to wait an additional hour before the tow truck would be able to tow my car. I also was not given a loaner because they stated that they had none available.i had to call vw for an update as they had not called me and they said it might be because of bad gas (which i know is not the issue as it has been doing this for over a year). They said they would call me before close of business on 12/03 with another update. I did not get a call back and i filed a complaint with the vw consumer's department but they were not helpful and said they'll have to refer it to a regional manager.i am still stuck without my car, without any explanation, and without a loaner vehicle.
Vehicle is shutting down during operation. Three times now, the car has shut off while sitting at a traffic light. The car will just stall out. Oddly, it restarts with ease when placed back in park. It will sometimes shutter while accelerating from a stop, as if it is going to stall. It has a gas engine, with an automatic transmission. Dealer recently addressed the problem by replacing a relay to the fuel pump. Unfortunately, the problem remains. Yesterday, it stalled while driving along a side street. Car is back at the dealers.
Excessive oil consumption in a short amount of time
O ring transmissions leak, epc light, cooling fan
The contact owns a 2014 volkswagen jetta. The contact stated that the epc warning indicator illuminated. Shortly after, there was a drastic reduction in speed each time the failure occurred. The vehicle was unable to be driven due to the failure. The vehicle was towed to the dealer and they replaced an internal part within the turbo engine assembly. Two weeks later, the indicator illuminated again and there was a drastic reduction in speed. The vehicle was towed back to the dealer for further inspection. The dealer was unable to provide a solution. The manufacturer was to escalate the concern and respond back to the contact to determine a repair remedy. The approximate failure mileage was 4,000.
Ref: nhtsa action number pe10034.regarding my 2014 jetta tdi (diesel):fuel tank was approximately 3/4 full.filled remainder (approx. 1/4 tank, 3.5 gallons) with ulsd auto diesel fuel at a service station in portage county, oh.i noticed an almost immediate loss of approx. 4 mpg in fuel economy.after researching the issue on various volkswagen tdi/diesel internet discussion forums (in addition to various chevy and/or ford diesel pickup truck internet discussion forums), the symptoms seemed to coincide with damage to the bosch cp4 hpfp (high-pressure fuel pump).symptoms include:-- loss of fuel economy.-- minor hesitation even on smooth, level roads that gets worse over time.-- presence of metal "flakes" or "shavings" in the fuel filter canister and other parts of the fuel delivery/return system. --i drove the vehicle to the point of purchase (an official volkswagen dealer), and requested they provide me with a visual inspection of the fuel filter and fuel filter canister.this inspection confirmed the presence of naked-eye-visible contaminating particles (suspected to be aluminum metal "flakes" or "shavings") in the fuel filter canister, and possibly other parts of the fuel delivery/return system.due to the fuel delivery/return system design, these metal "flakes" or "shavings" can be re-introduced into the high pressure fuel pump without being trapped by the fuel filter, causing further damage to the hpfp and cascading contamination (generation of additional metal "flakes" or "shavings").once fuel flow through the hpfp, fuel accumulator rail, and injectors becomes sufficiently restricted by contaminants, the hpfp can fail catastrophically, resulting in a sudden loss of engine power.this, in turn, can lead to a loss of vehicle control due to the absence of power steering.case opened with vw customer care.
The vehicle is known for intercooler icing and volkswagen dealerships don't want to do anything unless they can replicate it. After driving in cold weather and starting the car up again the intercooler has water build up from condensation that can potentially hydrolock or destroy the engine by pumping water through it.
Excessive stalling at intersections, almost hit when making a right turn because the car stalled. Restart the car and works fine, but is getting more frequent.
I been trying to get my sticker since last year ....i haven't been able tocause of the re call. I been driving expires tags....am annoy already with this recall t the dealer should had told me since tha begging...my car keeping losing oil and and. Can i just get a refund
Perfectly maintained 2014 volkswagen jetta with 65k miles on it "timing chains are stretched and camshaft adjustments values are outside of specifications meaning the camshaft has failed". There is also an issue with the tensioner. The vehicle has stalled, felt as if it was going to buck forward when stopped at a light, rpm is inconsistent with speed. This issue was already address in a class action for regular vw jetta's. My vechile meets all of the criteria when it comes to mileage, the year, and maintenance done. However, it's a jetta 2.0.
The contact owns a 2014 volkswagen jetta. While operating the vehicle, the check engine light illuminated. The contact indicated that the failure occurred on multiple occasions. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who performed service to remedy the failure, but it continued. No further information was available. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 11,000.
My 2014 vw jetta (86000 miles) was parked. I tried to turn it on; it would crank but wouldn't start.got it towed to the vw dealership where they told me the timing belt and tensioner had to be replaced.the opened the engine to inspect for further damage and found several bent valves.
At 60mph vehicle lost power on highway and ultimately stalled out. It restarted 6 times but not enough power to move and stalled in approx 20 seconds. It acted like a flood out situation. No throttle response. It just chugged and died. Jan 24, 2016 33 degrees. 37,000 miles. After a number of tries and stalls finally started up after 45 minutes....so far has continued to run fine. 2/3 full tank of diesel.
My jetta began having issues starting once driven. It progressed to stalling while idling and at traffic lights. It further progressed to stalling while driving, slowing for turns ect.the emc relay was replaced by mechanic.apparently this is a common problem that needs to be recalled by volkswagen
The contact owns a 2014 volkswagen jetta. While the vehicle was parked, the vehicle failed to start. The vehicle was towed to darcars volkswagen silver spring (12511 prosperity dr, silver spring, md 20904) where it was diagnosed that the timing chain failed and the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and filed the contact's complaint. The approximate failure mileage was 72,844.updated 11/07/17*ljconsumer stated the vehicle was repaired. Updated 7/19/18
My key won't turn the car off when it is running. The steering wheel is not locked. Key feels like its going to break off and i can't turn it.
On july 5, 2015, the clutch failed. The clutch was depressed to downshift the car as we were approaching a turnpike off ramp. The gear selector was moved out of top gear and into neutral; the clutch would not return, and the gear selector would not move out of neutral. The car had to be maneuvered through traffic from the far left lane to the rights-side shoulder, in neutral. This put my family and everyone around us at risk of serious injury. There was no degradation of clutch system performance. This clutch failure came suddenly and without warning. I have read comments from others online who have experienced similar issues.several months ago, the brake booster needed to be replaced. The dealership service manager suggested that the clutch issue could be related to the brake booster issue. My wife and i have driven manual transmission cars for years. This is the first clutch-related problem we've ever experienced. Update 9/15/15*cwupdated 11/7/2017
The high pressure fuel pump disintegrated when it was sitting so long in storage. Due to the editions recall vw had. There for the car will loose power and could cause an accident. Unexpectedly. The car was driving on a city street when this happened.
Key gets stuck in ignition when turning off the engine.
Three times in ~2 hours car stalled at stop signs.vehicle was at complete stop.lifted foot off brake and when touched gas car stalled.car is an automatic.
Im the owner of a 2014 volkswagen jetta gli. I purchased the car brand new on january 2, 2014, from fladeboe vw in irvine, ca. Currently it has 9,000 miles on it. In august 2014 i started to hear a loud rattling noise coming from the dashboard area of my car. I made an appointment at the dealer to have it looked at. I first took it in on august 15, 2014. The mechanic at the vw dealer heard the rattling i described and attempted to fix it. Car was returned to me, only to have the rattling return. I made a second appointment and took it in a second time. They attempted to fix it again. Car was returned to me again, only to have the loud rattle return. During the last appointment vw had a specialist come out to try and figure it out. Since the loud rattling was duplicated in two like cars, they claim it as, operating normal. The lead mechanic at the dealership told me that they can't always fix these rattles, even know he said it's an issue. The rattling has got louder over time. Since they don't know what is causing it, how can i feel safe driving it?i asked how they claim its operating normal?? they said since it duplicated in two like cars, they deemed it normal. I had a total of four loaner cars during this time and all were jettas. Two out of the four loaners, also rattled. Vw customer care asked that i get a second opinion at a different dealership. I made an appointment at a different dealership, only to have them call me the day before saying they can?t work on it. They informed me that vw told them not to accept my car in for service under no circumstances for the rattling noise. I asked them why? they informed me that the same vw special tech would have to come out and see the vehicle. Since he has already dealt with my car at the first dealership, he won?t look at it again. 2014 volkswagen jetta tdi stalled on highway at 65 mph causing dangerous evasive action.
This vehicle was rented from enterprise on 3/26, but driven <30 min that evening. On 3/27, it was driven a great deal (2-9pm). In the p.m.. I sat in the vehicle, windows up, heat on, awaiting someone's arrival for approx. 20 min., i began to feel weird bodywise & exiting the vehicle, noticed how sluggish i was. I arrived home at 9pm & walking in, i felt fatigue & noticed that my body was becoming sore. By the next hour, i'd become extremely fatigued & decided to bathe & call it a night. I shared my concerns with my daughter noted my symptoms & went to sleep. By morning, i woke up feeling even more sore, plus had a fever. Unable to function, i called my family & dr. & was advised to visit the er. I was told i had the flu, but i denied the diagnosis & a swab came back negative. They said my wbc was up wi/ no explanation from the cultures. They couldn't put a finger on it & they decided to keep me overnight. By the a.m., my wbc had increased & more tests were ran. They said it was possibly viral but later said they didn't have much to tell me. They put me on two antibiotics & my hospital stay lasted until 3/31. Initially, the car was not suspected suspected the car, until 3/28 when my dad called the hospital & mentioned how he felt when in it..he said something is with this car & he felt his eyes rolling in the back of his head. He said he couldn't be driving it as it was. His symptoms led him to do the internet & he came across numerous reports about vws' smell & it sickening people. He directed me to the same info & told me to tell the doctors about the car and his findings. I did so, but to no avail. Having seen that there has been no developments, recalls, associated with this known issue, i am also submitting this complaint. The commonality between my symptoms and others' leads me to believe that there should be further investigation into this to prevent sickness.
2014 volkswagen jetta.consumer writes in regards tounsatisfactory customer service at dealership with vehicle voice recognition system malfunction. The consumer stated the voice recognition software has a flaw with recognizing female voices.the dealer was notified.
Repeated and frequent headlight failure/burn out. Chronic issue. Both headlamps.
The contact owns a 2014 volkswagen jetta. While driving approximately 25 mph, the headlights failed without warning. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the headlights and module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vin was unknown. The approximate failure mileage was 35,999.
Premature burnout on the low beams.replaced the bulbs 3 times in less than 2 years.passenger side the first time, both the second time (9 months) and now the driver side again (6 months).
The door locks wont work, keeps just clicking, this is a safety feature when driving alone or stopping at red lights, anyone can enter your vehicle at anytime.the key gets stuck in ignition wont turn.headlights keep blowing
Headlamps and fog lamps burning out.may be bad 173 or 109 relay or wire coming from fuse box, fuse 16 is too small.may also be bad software in headlight control module.
Low beam headlights both went out and refuse to turn on. Bulbs and fuses are fine as well as the brights work just fine. The problem started this morning as i went to leave for work.
Low beams failed to turn on. Replaced the bulbs not too long ago and the bulbs are not burned out. All fuses are good. High beams work, daytime running lights work. Low beams are not functioning properly.
The passenger side low beam went out. I replaced the bulb and it still didn't work. Then the driver's side low beam went out too. I tried replacing both bulbs at once, it didn't work. Then i checked the fuses, both under the hood and under the dash. The fuses are good. The high beams are good, the running lights, break lights and turn single lights are good. Just the low beams.
I have 2014 vw jetta the car has horn problem and also some electrical problem. Horn sometimes working sometimes not. This is serious safety problem should be fixed. Dealer try to charge me the diagnostic fee and also repair cost.
The high beams stopped working. No indicator light on the readout, either. It was stationary. Bulbs aren't burned out, filaments are intact in both.
Headlight bulbs continuously burnout.have required replacement every 2000-2500 miles or less.sometimes one side burns out only.when that side is replaced, the other side will burnout in 2 weeks or less time under normal highway driving.this is major safety defect that is known to vw.
Bought used car in september 2015 have had to replace low beams multiple time.driver side low beam replaced once.passenger side low beam have replaced 3 times.i have seen other jetta'swith the same problem
Repeated headlight failure. Driver and passenger headlight bulbs require replacement after 3-4 months.
The low beams keep burning out.i replaced them and they worked fine.last time i went to replace the passenger side low beam the bulb wasn't burned out.changed it out anyway but the passenger side lowbeam still won't come on.i've changed the bulbs 4 times in this car already.
January, the driver side head light stopped working while driving at night on the city street (replaced light). March, the passenger side head light stopped working while driving at night on city street (replaced light). June, both head lights stopped working within a month of each other, both while driving at night on residential roads (again, replaced lights). November, both lights stopped working shortly after i left work and was less than a block away, at night. After taking the vehicle in to the dealership, dealership reports no issues, but does acknowledge ongoing problem for other owners of the same vehicle type. I do not believe this to be a light bulb issue (as implied by the dealership's service department) and i am concerned for the safety of anyone who may also encounter this problem.
My headlightsgoing of yesterday when i turnon i have to driveback home on dark road! this was very dissapointed situation since the dealer sell this car to me as a certified vehicle, also mycar vibrates everytime that ibreaking on the road that star happeningright after i take the car oout of the dealer!
Low beam issue, i have had to replace my headlight numerous times and they keep going out without the bulb being bad
Headlights need to be replaced on . Does not matter the quality of bulbs that we buy they're burning out at least 3 times a year. Sometimes singularly but has happened to both headlights at same time before.this has been going on for several years now
When driving one evening, i noticed both low beams not providing light. My high beams work so i drove with them as to not drive in the dark. I was unable to see traveling on a highway at 65 mph. I had to use my high beams even with on coming traffic causing a safety issue for them also. When low beams are turned on, only a small light that does not prove any llight to see is on.i noticed this while driving. I have attached pictures of the all three light positions; day, low, and high.
From a complete stop, pushed the accelerator and nothing happened for 4 to 5 seconds. Tried again and the car slowly rolled forward only to have the accelerator not work again almost causing the car to be t-boned in an intersection. This happened several time that day. Foot was no where near the brake pedal.this has occurred several times since and 5-24-14 happened again almost causing us to get hit crossing traffic.2 dealerships have yet to duplicate it and will go in again 6-3. This car is dangerous to drive, so much it has sat twice a week at a time. It is not a turbo or diesel response. There is a huge problem with this car.
After filling up our jetta tdi with diesel gas we left the station and the car's glow plug light came on about 3 miles down the road.i pulled over to check with the manual to find out what to do.i said to take the car to the dealer as soon as possible. When trying to restart the car the check engine light also came on and it took several attempts to restart the car.i pulled back onto the highway and my car would not accelerate over 40 mph and felt very sluggish.i quickly pulled into the nearest turn out and called for a tow truck. The car was towed to the dealer the following day as it was a new 2014 with 11,000 miles.i was called by the dealer andtold the gas we put in the car was "contaminated" and the entire fuel system would have to be replaced.our gas receipt show that we put diesel gas into the car.we went back to thegas station (chevron) and spoke with the manager.he stated that they did not have complaints about their gas from other customers.
Upon arrival at destination key will not come out of ignition, this has happen on 12 occasions. Transmission is leaking around oil ring which may cause it to flow in coolant. Dealership stated recalls are out just not my vin number. I would like for this vin to be included, asap.
The high pressure fuel pump disintegrated when it was sitting so long in storage. Due to the editions recall vw had. There for the car will loose power and could cause an accident. Unexpectedly. The car was driving on a city street when this happened.
Flashing glow plug light with check engine light then died in traffic, would not restart.dealer diagnosed: diesel high pressure fuel pump catastrophic failure.pump debris contaminates fuel system, requiring replacement of fuel injectors, lines, low pressure pump, and cleaning fuel tank.estimated cost $6,700.
I have a fuel leak from injector seal which is causing it to smell like strong gas in my car every time i use my heat.
Car continues to leak, tire sensor always on doesn't go away, since the beginning of lease terms, all the above mentioned is consistent, while vehicle is stationary, in motion, on street or on a highway. Further, the same occurs with any turn.
Excessive stalling at intersections, almost hit when making a right turn because the car stalled. Restart the car and works fine, but is getting more frequent.
After fueling car will not start.also fuel line appears to be hanging
The car lost acceleration, felt like driving with the e-brake on. Glow plug indicator light on dash flashes. Drove about 3 more miles trying to make it to my mechanic in town, before it completely died.towed to dealership who recommended a complete fuel system replacement for $6500.00!
Volkswagen jetta began experiencing rattling/shaking in idle, died multiple times, in the middle of driving it! specifically when slowing down approaching a traffic light or stop sign.
Got this car for my 16 year old son. It keeps stalling while he is driving and also while idling. Been to shop 2 times. Have replaced fuel pump and crankshaft and it still doesn't work right and i'm out $1200 in repairs! service cannot figure out what is going on. They have had the car a week....then 2 weeks...and it still is stalling. This is a life threatening situation. I hate this car and feel absolutely ripped off buying it used. If something happens to my child because of this stalling issue, vw is going to be held responsible. I have seen years and years of complaint about this issue online and no one has ever gotten a resolution. This is unacceptable.
It
The car broke down just after a dash light came on; literally just stopped running.the car would crank but would not turnover.thank goodness i was able to get off the road and out of harms way.the vehicle was towed to the local vw dealership and they diagnosed.the gentleman i spoke with stated they did not even run the diagnostic because they check the high pressure fuel pump first.when they checked it, they found "metal shavings" and quoted a complete rebuild of the system because "they do not know how far the metal shavings" traveled.the car is out of the manufacture warranty but the mechanic stated he usually sees extended warranties on this type of issue.not only does this car fall under the emissions lawsuit, now this.
My jetta's fuel rail is leaking around the seal to the fuel injector(s) and is currently leaking fuel into my engine compartment. I brought this in 16 months ago and my dealer said they could not find the issue. I have recently brought it back in and found out the2014 jetta was recalled for this exact issue but the dealer is claiming my vin is not covered. Is there anything i can do about this?
Fuel pump needed to be replaced. Electrical system failure.
1.engine stopped running while traveling on surface streets 35 mph.2.glow plug warning light appeared on dash3.vehicle coasted to stop at curb, unable to restart4.towed to dealership, vehicle diagnosed with catastrophic failure of high pressure fuel pump5.currently under warranty repairs for entire fuel system7-$10000.
The horn does not work, engine light stays on while driving or in park, when you put gas in the vehicle you have to press the accelerator for it to start otherwise it will cut off, heater blows a little on 2 other than that blows out cool air
Fuel pump replaced. Electrical system failed.problems started at 54,000 miles. No letter for a recall!
Rust-rotted fuel line clamp failure released gasoline fumes:i smelled raw gasoline fumes after opening the right passenger door to let out a passenger after driving about a half a mile from a cold start.a mechanic traced the fumes to a rust-rotted clamp on the fuel line that was allowing raw gasoline fumes to escape.he said the clamp was on the passenger side 'on the line that goes to the injector fuel rail near the firewall.'i collected part of the failed clamp from the mechanic.it appeared to be rusted and of an inferior material not appropriate for safe use on a fuel line.i have photographed it from two angles.
While driving on busy city road car just stopped/died in middle of traffic.it also has major issues not restarting after i turn it off.
When the vehicle downshifts to lower gears the engine stutters and eventually stalls out
I purchased my car in mid-feb 2014 and it performed flawlessly the winter of 2014.i started my car on monday jan 5 (oat +5f) let it idle for a minute and drove 35 mi to work on the highway (rpm >2500), i don't have a temp gauge, but my car did not seem to warm up like normal.
While driving on the overpass the car cutoff almost hit from behind by a dump truck would not crank back up for 7 minutes.airbag light on show malfunction of airbag
The contact owns a 2014 volkswagen jetta. The contact stated that the vehicle would not start. The vehicle was towed to a local dealer (volkswagen of downtown la, located at 1900 s figueroa st los angeles, ca 90007) where it was diagnosed that the fuel pump and spark plugs needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure persisted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vin was unknown. The failure mileage was 92,400.
Epc warning light came on suddenly; vehicle throttled down and continued to buck and stall out; loss of power and speed. Very dangerous while in traffic. No specific diagnostic code(s) were saved or triggered. This causes costly and unneeded diagnostics and repairs
Vehicle has another fuel rail issue.this was part of a couple of recalls and the vehicle was "repaired" in the past by vw.however, the fuel rail has failed again and vw will not honor the recalls or pay for the repair.this known defect is a safety hazard and can cause the vehicle to catch on fire. See recalls #24bi which was replaced by #24bl.
The epc light came on and i pulled to side and turn the car off.when i turned car back on the light was off.then it came on another time and i notice when trying to accelerate to the car is lagging.so i decided to take to vw dealer in martinez ga and they said i had gotten some bad gas, they added some 44k additive to the tank.i was only using shell gas, so i was told to try another brand that was a top tier gas.i tried citgo and they had the top tier sticker on the tank.the car drove good for a day and a half then the light came on again with also the check engine light and the car started to shake.i have reached out to the dealership online and i got a call from a sales rep, who said she could help assist with purchasing a safer or new car.i don't want to buy another car at this time.i only have 125k miles and the car was running fine.i looked on the internet and i see that this is not a new issue with vw jetta from 2014 to 2018 and vw has not figured out the fix for it.i was supposed to get a call back from the service advisor and i have not heard from him.so at the present time i am driving and pulling to the side of the road to get the light to turn off.when i get home i try not to go anywhere other that to work and back.
Transmission oil cooler leaking transmission oil. Took to volkswagen dealership and they attempted repair and i left in the dealership and was driving and the car start smoking and leaking oil all over the road.
Driving in my vw jetta 2014 se at the i71 freeway at around 65-70 mph (i had already driving for around 40-45 min) and in the middle of the highway the cluster marked me a red light showing that a door was open. My wife figured out that the rear left door was not fully closed and that air was coming inside the car due to this gap. I was needed to pull over to the shoulder to close the door, and seemed that just the first latch was engaged, but not fully closed.next day my father in law was driving my car, when suddenly it happened exactly the same. We pulled over and it was happening the same, it was not fully closed.when starting the car in both times, there was no warning that the door was open or any other failure. While driving several miles, the door suddenly disengaged.it was a extremely frightening experience.
The contact owns a 2014 volkswagen jetta. After the vehicle was purchased, the contact took it to flow volkswagen wilmington (5011 new centre dr, wilmington, nc 28403, 910-392-3889) where it was discovered that there was an oil leak. The contact associated the failure with nhtsa campaign number: 14v182000 (power train). The manufacturer was notified of the failure and stated that there was no recall on the vehicle. The contact was informed to call nhtsa for assistance. The vehicle had not been repaired. The failure mileage was 124,000.
The contact owns a 2014 volkswagen jetta. The contact stated that at start-up the vehicle shifted into neutral with an unknown warning light illuminated. The vehicle was restarted and operated as intended. The vehicle was taken to volkswagen kearny mesa located at 8040 balboa avenue, san diego, ca92111, 858-300-8160) to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The contact was informed that the vehicle was no longer under warranty. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. A case was opened. The approximate failure mileage was 109,000.
I have a 2014 gli autobahn with the paddle shifters and the sports mode option. Today i engaged the sports mode option and the vehicle's rpm were almost redlining but it will take awhile to feel the shifting on the trans. I am worried that this may be a problem to the trans on this vehicle. The second problem that i am having i believe is the suspension due to the smoothness of the vehicle is no longer their. I have not taken the vehicle to the dealership yet but will soon. Please advise if any others have complained about the same issues that i am having. Thanks.
Three times in ~2 hours car stalled at stop signs.vehicle was at complete stop.lifted foot off brake and when touched gas car stalled.car is an automatic.
Dealership has had my car for 100 days and still not fixed.2014 - 2 clutches and a rebuilt transmission later. Car was returned, same day 5th gear went out again on interstate 95 almost killed my son.
When the accelerator pedal was applied, the vehicle hesitated and failed to move. In addition, the tire pressure warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 47,000.
The contact owns a 2014 volkswagen jetta. While accelerating from a stop, the vehicle hesitated to accelerate. The failure recurred multiple times intermittently. The vehicle was taken to a dealer for diagnostic testing. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The vin was unavailable. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. I have had my vehicle for less than two months. First my battery died on me so i replaced it but oddly before that i noticed when i would turn on my car i had to turn the steering wheel in a certain direction or shake it and when turning it off i would have to try several times before it would actually turn off. So today i got home from work and it just wouldnt turn off at all after calling the dealership and them telling me to put it first gear and ram it into brake a few times it should work but but after 20-30 times raming my gear into park no success. I dont live in the best neighbor hood so the dealership suggested leaving it on and bring it in the morning finally i gave up and just about to walk in the house my husband gave it one more try and it turned but scared to turn it back on and im concerned it will lock permenatly and just like others i have to work to keep this car if i cant turn it off what do not only me but others in this situation do??????
Leaking transmission fluid and running rough
Dsg gearbox changed into a low gear causing the diesel engine rpm to increase to 4500rpm. The resultant engine braking caused me to slow down. I had to abandon overtaking and cross two lanes of traffic to get to the shoulder to avoid impediing faster moving traffic.
The contact owns a 2014 volkswagen jetta. The contactnoticed an oil stain on the floor of the driveway. The vehicle was taken to flow volkswagen in greensboro, north carolina where it was diagnosed that there was an oil leak in the transmission oil cooler. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vin was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 14v182000 (power train). The approximate failure mileage was 84,000.
I purchased my vehicle brand new in june 2014 and i've kept up with all routine maintenance to date.i drive an average 30 miles per day during the work week and travel up to 140 miles every two weeks or so for custodial exchanges.this past weekend (august 13, 2016), while at a routine pit stop for gas my vehicle's transmission gave out.i had parked at the gas station right off the highway.when i went to restart my vehicle it wouldn't move.the vehicle would start and shift into drive, but the wheels responded as if it were in neutral.there was a recall for this issue back in 2013 when the vw jetta went on the market, but the recall did not involve my vin.the recall was not disclosed to me at the time i purchased the vehicle, nor was i ever notified of it being a potential issue.i found out the hard way when i was left stranded 70 miles from home and 45 miles from the nearest vw dealership.my researched turned up this statement:"an electric malfunction could occur in the gearbox power supply based on the synthetic gearbox oil if the vehicle is subject to a hot and humid climate, coupled with a high proportion of stop-and-go driving," said mark gillies, a volkswagen of america spokesman, in a phone conversation. "the car works, but you lose drive."my vehicle has 51,850 miles on it, so it was covered under vw's 5yr-60k warranty.it's been sitting at the vw dealership for 3 days while they coordinate on replacing the defective power train.the remaining estimated time for replacement is 2-3 days.i live in austin, tx where hot, humid, and stop-and-go are a routine part of life.
Volkswagen 38b9/9v recall my volkswagen jetta has been diagnosed with the same isssue that the car has been recalled for. I've taken it to vw dealership but they said my car does not qualify for the recall. After researching i've found that the recall affects 2014 jettas with a 1.8t engine, with the qualifying month and year of manufacture date (april, 2014). My car has a manufacture date of april 2014, although my specific vin number was not included in the recall. I am wondering why it wasn't listed, as the dates match up and the issue is exactly the same. This is causing a major issue in my car and is causing a leak that can result in an engine fire, which is an obvious safety issue. My car is having severetransmission problems now and has completely stopped numerous times at red lights, without allowing me to even put it in park, which has almost caused me to be in a few accidents. The rpms are going crazy, i am experiencingrough idling, trouble in shifting gears, and the transmission has been leaking and overheating. It also has trouble sometimes accelerating on the highway or on city streets.
While exiting an interstate onto a city street, i applied the brakes.as the jetta slowed to about 15 mph, it experienced a sudden acceleration.the cause of this sudden acceleration is unknown.the sudden acceleration consisted of the engine increasing it's rev with a resulting increase in the speed of the vehicle.i applied the brakes harder and was able to bring the jetta to almost a complete stop, however, the engine continued to rev at a high speed.i placed the jetta in neutral and the engine's revving decreased to normal range.i placed the jetta in drive and had no further problems.the next day i took the jetta to my mechanic who ran a diagnostic program.no problem was identified.i have not experienced another episode of sudden acceleration.
I was driving on the freeway on my way to work on 4/14/17 at 6:15am the check engine light came when i was driving 60mph. The vehicle lost power and i was not able to drive no more than 40mph. I was traveling in the fast lane and had to pull to the right shoulder as other cars traveled at high speeds. I managed to drive to the shoulder. I attempted to proceed and drive but my vehicle did not advance. I took my vehicle to the vw dealership in san bernardino, ca. I was forced to pay $135 for a diagnostic. I was told that the reason my car did not work was because my transmission had leaked all the oil. I was also told that the cooling unit for the transmission and lines had to be replaced. I did not have any other alternative but to pay $1086.00 to repair my vehicle. The service advisor said my vehicle was out of warranty and i have to pay out of pocket. After reviewing the nhtsa website i came across nhtsa campaign 14v182000. I informed the service advisor of the campaigned and she said my vehicle was not part of the recall. All the components mentioned in such recall were the ones that applied to my vehicle. The description of the recall vehicles also matched my vehicle. I was told my vehicle did not have any recall and i had no option but to pay out of pocket. I was also told that i needed a new transmission which cost $5703. My vehicle had 99107 miles when it went in for repairs. The service advisor said that my vehicle had been repaired and test droved by the senior shop foreman and it had gone through a rigorous drive test to ensure my vehicle was back to normal. As i left the dealership my car had 99108 miles. How can the shop foreman test drive my vehicle rigorously for 1 mile? the service advisor said my car was like new again as i drove away the check engine came on and was told that i need to pay $135 for a diagnostic again. Codep0741is still displaying
When accelerating or decelerating, the vehicle bucks forward or hesitates. This happens at lights and stop sign. The car was bought certified used the warrant was up in january 2019 and/or 60,000 miles. The problem started in may 2019 with 60264 miles. Local dealer told us that clutch 1 and 2 reached their tolerance call corporate and ask for a good faith repair. Corporate told us to get in touch dealer where car was bought and ask them for a good faith repair. Seller where we purchased it told us corporate needed to authorize a good faith repair. Bucking and hesitation could cause collision.
My jetta has been leaking transmission fluid. I was searching to see what gear oil is needed for my car as i would like to fill it back up to the appropriate level and a recall showed up about an o-ring between the transmission and the oil cooler. My car was not listed in this recall, however my car is still leaking transmission fluid at this time. On another subject my fuel pump seems to run for awhile after i shut the car off. I took it to a vw dealership and they stated it was fine. Still a bit of a worry as sometimes it runs for up to 3 minutes after.
At about 70,000 miles, as i was driving home, the transmission on my car failed and i was only able to drive it in 1st gear.i was able to get it to the dealership, after which they told me this was due to the mechtronic unit in my hybrid transmission faulting.i was one the hook for about $940 a labor costs to get a new one replaced in my car so it can run.when i searched on google, i came to find out that the mechtronic unit failure is a known issue with this model and year of the volkswagen jetta hybrid and is due to it's faulty design.there was a recall however, it does not include myparticular vin.i am hoping that someday the recall is expanded to include my vin as this has happened with several other 2014 volkswagen jetta hybrids.very expensive thing to have fail so early in the life of the car.
Was driving normally stop at the stop light and car rpms started to jump, as i started to drive again, the car stalled on the middle of the highway with cars behind me! engine light came on, took to vw dealership and they said that it jumped timing (timing chain) and now engine needs to replaced at around $4k.
Transmission will not catch gear, slipping while driving. Has transmission leak & check engine light did not turn on to warn.
Automatic transmission valve body failure. At around 89,000 miles vehicle started clicking while shifting took to vw dealer told valve body is failing. Most noticeably acceleration from a stop it happens around second gear. When warmed up car does not shift correctly and jerks the car. Happens at all speeds, in town and highway.
The contact owns a 2014 volkswagen jetta. While the vehicle was undergoing maintenance, the technician diagnosed that the bolt that connected to the transmission was leaking fluid. The transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vin was unknown. The failure mileage was approximately 81,600.
The contact owns a 2014 volkswagen jetta. While driving 35 mph, the transmission failed and the vehicle stalled. There were no warning indicators illuminated. When the vehicle was turned off and restarted, it operated normally. The vehicle was taken to a dealer (boucher volkswagen of franklin, 6420 s 108th st, franklin, wi 53132), but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 29,000.
Crank car cut off like im out of gas... Wiring is bad powertrain as well due to code p0341 sensor
The contact owns a 2014 volkswagen jetta. The contact noticed that fuel leaked onto the ground. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the transmission oil cooler seal needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The dealer (norm reeves volkswagen superstore irvin, 20 auto center dr, irvine, ca 92618, (866) 938-3392) confirmed that there was no recall. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and advised the contact to call nhtsa. The contact referenced nhtsa campaign number: 14v182000 (power train). The approximate failure mileage was 70,000.
The vehicle skipped regularly when leaving a stop light.after a long trip requiring a significant amount of stop and go due to holiday traffic, the check engine light and hybrid malfunction system error lights came on.when i took it in to be checked, the dealership informed me that the transmission would need to be replaced.this seems to coincide with the errors that were part of a safety recall for other vw jetta hybrids made in the same year as mine.however my vehicle did not fall under the same recall.the vehicle has less than 60k miles.i have done my research and it does appear that other 2014 jetta hybrids have similar issues and are also not covered under the recall.
The vehicle failed to move after entering into gear both reverse and drive. It was repaired by a vw dealership and a year later the same problem has occurred. Based on previous research it appears it may be part of a recall due to transmission issues.had to pay over $7,000 for the repair
The car started to sputter as you press the gas. It stalls and then pulls back, not allowing a smooth drive. It almost caused an accident at an intersection after driving through a stop sign. It is almost as if the battery and the car are fighting to see which mechanism drives the car and then the battery does not engage. The transmission was stated that it needed to be replaced due to the issue. This car has had another recall for faulty transmission parts.
In the process of diagnosing a transmissions issue for a 2014 vw jetta tdi with a dsg transmission; this car was recalled as part of diesel-gate and resold after modifications. We are finding the transmission code related to this vehicle is not being found in any database related to this recall and the related firmware for the transmission is not part of the coc application. We are not aware of any foreign object damage prior to purchasing this vehicle.
The contact owns a 2014 volkswagen jetta. The contact stated while the vehicle was parked, he noticed oil was leaking from vehicle. The vehicle was taken to ritchey automotive (5320 i-55 north jackson, ms 39211, (888-698-7459) to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the transmission oil cooler o-ring needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 100,000.
The car had transmissions problems soon after i purchased it. Volkswagen said it repaired it when i brought it to the dealer for warranty service. Now a more serious transmission problem has occurred. At first it sort of felt like the gears were slipping, then it suddenly stopped moving while i was driving. This was a potentially dangerous situation. Luckily, i was able to pull over. To try to move again, i shifted into drive for extended periods of time, like 30sec or more, and the revs would go all the way to 10 but it would not move. Then it stopped working all together, and now it won't even turn on. I towed the car to the dealer and said it was the transmission. It seems clear that either the transmission was not repaired properly or it has a dangerously faulty design.
I have a fuel leak from injector seal which is causing it to smell like strong gas in my car every time i use my heat.
In early april, my 2014 jetta started experiencing jerking into gear while driving occasionally. It appeared that inclines or acceleration (even though both were gentle) were the culprit. So i tried to drive the car even gentler than i already am. On april 16, however, the car almost completelystalled on a busy 75 mph highway multiple times. As such, i was driving at 20mph in case it was sudden acceleration and speed that was the culprit. I couldn't drive any faster. As you can imagine, this makes for an extremely dangerous situation. So this is happening every time i accelerate for the next few weeks. I bite the bullet and drive on the right lane at very slow speeds on the freeway, because i don't have any other form of transportation. I take it to aamco on april 20th, andthe mechanics there are all terribly slick and sleazy. They [xxx] me and essentially want to charge me $4000 to fix the torque converter/transmission. Which is completely ridiculous, because according to kbb my car couldn't be worth more than $2k. Now, i've taken my jetta to be recalled for two separate issues (the specifics i forget) over the past two years. Never has vw ever mentioned there was a problem with 2014 transmission/power trains. Upon doing research, there are heaps of folks experiencing the same issue as me. Some are eligible for recall, some are not. This is all dependent on vin. Now, i call my local dealership and they say my vin isn't eligible for recall. However, i disagree. The problems that are plaguing my jetta are the exact same symptoms listed on their website - basically that the transmission is faulty. The o-ring seals are clearly leaking fluid, which is in turn coming in contact with my hot engine. My car overheats and smokes, and totally stalls.i think that despite what the dealership says, my jetta is eligible for this recall.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).
Even when driver seat belt is clicked, randomly the seat belt light will come on. I've braked hard to test it and sometimes it will not lock against me. Dealer couldnt find it during one test drive.
Week of april 3rd 2016 (approx thu apr 7th) my 17 year old son expressed concern that the passenger side, rear seat belt buckle would no longer slide down the seat belt because it was getting caught at a torn spot on the seat belt that was now beginning to fray. We could not use the seat belt the way that it was so he sat on the other side to get home. ...updated 08/31/16 we observed the seat belt and noted that it was severely frayed approxof an inch into the edge of the seat belt. The nylon webbing was bunching up and not allowing the buckle to slide down the seat belt. My first assumption was that the seat belt got slammed in the door and may have cut it allowing the seat belt to start to fray. Thinking this was the case we decided to trim the frayed fibers from the belt and use an iron to seal the area by heating it. This worked well and allowed us to continue to use the seat belt but upon further examination we noticed that the frayed area was exactly where the belt stops in the opening in the rear dash, exactly!. We looked at the other two belts, rear center, and rear drivers side and noticed the same fraying occurring in varying degrees of damage, in the exact same locations, right where the seat belt stops in the opening in the rear dash, the exact same spot!..i called the dealership, thelen in baycity, mi to ask them to look at the seat belts while the car was in for its 30,000 mile scheduled oil change. I brought the car in on april 29th 2016.the dealership found additional maintenance that needed to be done and told me that i would have to leave the car and that they would have to elevate the seat belt issue to the regional volkswagen rep. I agreed to leave the car. I returned to pick up the car and was told the seat belt defect would not be covered by vw. I appealed to vw customer service and bbb auotline but have been declined each time....updated 08/30/16vin number is invalid updated 6/20/18
Rear ended a vehicle in front of me with enough speed to total my vehicle, however my seatbelt did not lock and i hit the steering wheel with my chest. I had concussion symptoms following the impact for over 4 hours (confusion, fogginess, slowed speech, fatigue not normal for the event)
Car continues to leak, tire sensor always on doesn't go away, since the beginning of lease terms, all the above mentioned is consistent, while vehicle is stationary, in motion, on street or on a highway. Further, the same occurs with any turn.
The horn stopped working. Also for the seat. The seat warmer stopped working.
Heated seats burned the back and legs of driver.
Passenger side airbag not working/off notice along with abs off notice and underinflation notice all happened simultaneously upon starting car and remains on. Car only has been driven 18000 miles since new
This issue now occurs every day. This vehicle has push button start, which means the brake pedal must be depressed before attempting to start the vehicle. When attempting to start the vehicle after it has been sitting for more than 3 hours, the brake pedal is extremely difficult to depress as there is pressure built up in the brake system. On the first dealer visit, the brake booster check valve was replaced under warranty. On the second visit, after sitting for a week, the dealer made no repairs and gave the vehicle back. They advised this is normal operation, to which i said it was not as this did not occur when vehicle was leased until about a month ago. Vw corporate was involved, which proved to be a lost cause, as they sided with the dealer. If someone were to try and start this vehicle and they were of smaller stature, they most likely would be unable to do so.
If i drive with the car the brake-warning light, abs light and airbag light turns on. It alarms. I brought it to dealer and they asked germany but they couldn't figure out what wrong is. I am afraid to drive with these lights. They reset the computer but it happens after 20 miles again.

When driving at highway speeds the brakes seem increasingly ineffective. I was in a fender bender due to weak braking in an emergency situation going approximately 60mph at a seemingly reasonable distance. There were absolutely no skid marks or tire squeals. It seemed that the harder i pressed the brake pedal the less effective the brakes were and i believe that brake pedal actually hit the floor. I have noticed the brakes felt spongy before when braking heavy. I have also noticed that when the car sits for an extended period of time the brake pedal feels rock hard for a little while after starting up. Does not feel safe!
Parking the car in parking space. Car made extremely loud noise (like a backfire) and then auto accelerated. Tried hitting the brake but brake did not decompress. Hit a parked car in front of me.
My headlightsgoing of yesterday when i turnon i have to driveback home on dark road! this was very dissapointed situation since the dealer sell this car to me as a certified vehicle, also mycar vibrates everytime that ibreaking on the road that star happeningright after i take the car oout of the dealer!
On tuesday, august 4, 2015, i was driving my leased 2014 jetta withmy 1 year old baby, when my brakes completely locked up. Unfortunately, at the time, we happened to be at a stop sign on asteep hill about a half a block from our house. As i began rollingbackwards down the hill trying to do everything i could think of inthat moment of sheer panic, i truly did not think the outcome was going to be good. Thankfully after about fifteen seconds of no brakes whatsoever, they finally popped back on.i lease this jetta, so i had it towed for free to a dealership where i obviously have to get all of the work done. They called to let me know that my one year old car had faulty wheel bearings and it was causing the computer to get confused and therefore making my brakes seize up. My car is 1 year old and has 14,000 miles on it with no other symptoms and/or noises that would signify bad wheel bearings. Which made it even weirder is i called my old volkswagen dealership (i just moved a month ago) and i asked him if it could indeed be my wheel bearings. He said it was extremely unlikely and that if it were, my brakes probably wouldn't have popped back on. Maybe i'm just being paranoid, but this all is so fishy to me. I feel like they be covering up and/or misdiagnosing the car to avoid a possible law suit because my brakes failed. I'm terrified to get back in the car even after they've "fixed" it.
Abs modul failed at 74000 miles
I bought a 2014 new jetta se. But this vehicle sits in vw dealership for entire first month. Last week, i had a fender-bender accident on local highway due to brake problem.two claims involved in this case:1. Brake hard like rock when i try to start the vehicle in the morning. I could not start the engine.2. When i drive on the 50 mile speed limit high way, i could not stop the car due to weak brake system. It took extra long deep stroke to stop the vehicle and took extra long distance to stop. Also i could not do emergency stop if some cuts in front of me. Weak weak weak brake..... I drove for more than 20 years, i have never had such experience. It is an unsafe car! my wife now refuse to drive it.i took this vehicle to vw dealership and they find out problem with car (faulty booster and master cylinder). They changed the components and system twice, and now condition is the same.vw technical service went to dealership, and they told my dealer that this vehicle is safe..... I am very shock on this conclusion.please investigate on this vehicle brake system. I don't want other vw jetta drive have the same problem, risked life for a faulty system, and i must voice it out to warn my fellow jetta driver: be careful!
The contact owns a 2014 volkswagen jetta. While driving approximately 45 mph and attempting to stop at a red light, the brakes malfunctioned and did not stop the vehicle in a timely manner. When depressing the brake pedal, the pedal felt hard. The vehicle was driven to the local dealer (wallace volkswagen, 2805 se federal hwy, stuart, fl) where it was diagnosed that the brake camshaft lobe had sheared off, causing the brake vacuum pump to fail. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and did not assist. The failure mileage was 122,000.
The contact owns a 2014 volkswagen jetta. While driving 15 mph, the contact heard a loud abnormal noise coming from the brakes. The dealer stated that the brakes were functioning normally. The vehicle was not repaired and the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 6,500.
Clockspring went bad on a 5 year old vehicle. Air bag light is on, horn and steering wheel controls dont work.
While driving on a public roadway, the power steering assist began to diminish causing a need for increased physical effort to steer the vehicle while an unusual noise (hissing) was detected from the engine compartment area. Examination at an authorized vw service facility revealed a power steering fluid leak from the left side steering rack bellows requiring a total steering rack replacement at a cost of $1,886.89. Vehicle odo was 58,734 miles at the time of this repair.

Purchase(2 ) 2014 vw jetta. The ignition cilinder stop working 6 months after buying the car. After numerous times at the dealer with the second jetta and telling them something is wrong . The dealer kept on telling me their is no recall and i would have to replace it at my expense. This is a common problem since looking at this matter on the net. . at times this key problem is a hassard because it can make the electronics of the car fail. Does some have to die for this to be a recall and protect the consumers? please look into the matter and make vw own up to what is the right thing to keep people on the road and not six foot under. Key stop working while car is running, electronic frailer, you can turn keys to any position, can turn the car on, i was on vacation on a ferry and could not move the car cb the key could not be turned for anything.
Upon arrival at destination key will not come out of ignition, this has happen on 12 occasions. Transmission is leaking around oil ring which may cause it to flow in coolant. Dealership stated recalls are out just not my vin number. I would like for this vin to be included, asap.
Vehicle ignition switch sticks. Sometimes it is hard to turn on other times it is very difficult to turn off.condition is getting worse.
Driving down highway car pulls to the right. Steering is out of line even with alignment adjustments. Car is all over the road. Difficult to drive staright without swerving. Dangerous going around corners. Vehicle had been diagnosed several times. No warranty repairs were made due to costs.

The vehicle's ignition gets stuck.

The contact owns a 2014 volkswagen jetta. The contact stated that while changing the front drivers side tire, the frame detached from the jack. The contact stated that he placed the jack in the proper position according to the owners manual. The contact stated that the designed place to place the jack was not strong enough to jack the vehicle. The manufacturer nor dealer had not been contacted. The failure mileage was 47,000.
The contact owns a 2014 volkswagen jetta. While driving 10 mph, the contact heard a clunking noise coming from the front driver's side of the vehicle. The contact coasted the vehicle over to the side of the road and noticed that the front driver's side wheel was bent outwards and the lower control arm was detached. In addition, each time the vehicle drove over a bump in the road, the clunking noise would occur. The vehicle was towed to brandon volkswagen (located at 9816 e adamo dr, tampa, fl 33619, (813) 630-4000). The technician informed the contact that the driveshaft, tie rod, shock absorber and control arm needed to be replaced due to corrosion. The vehicle was not repaired due to the repair fees and the extended warranty, which would not cover the repairs. The vehicle was later towed to reeves volkswagen (located at 11337 n florida ave, tampa, fl 33612, (813) 935-3354) for a second opinion. The dealer diagnosed that the front driver side lower control arm was detached due to corrosion and the front passenger side and rear control arm were heavily corroded and the subframe needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failures and provided case number: 190467342. The approximate failure mileage was 33,009.
Thanks.

On june 21, 2020 while driving down a paved flat road my passenger side front coil spring snapped.i did not hit any bumps. The part was not rusty and did not show any signs of wear.i had the part replaced. Yesterday, august 3, 2020, the driver side front coil spontaneously snapped while backing out of a paved flat parking spot.again there does not appear to be any rust, rot, or wear on the spring.the spot where each has broken is very clean.
It
Tires put on the 2014 vw jetta gli (dunlop sport) from factory are of very poor quality and could cause a blow-out and an accident.first incident with pothole caused a tire blow-out on front passenger tire, but executed a controlled maneuver to pull the vehicle over.second incident involved no pothole or abnormal circumstances but resulted in a bubble in the sidewall of another tire.bubble was caught before blow-out incident could occur.these tires are unsafe and there are numerous complaints of this dunlop sport tire scattered across the internet.nhtsa needs to take action by requiring volkswagen to replace these tires with tires of better quality that will not develop compromised sidewalls or are at risk to blow-outs.this should be done at no cost to the consumer as vw made the decision to equip the vehicles with these poor quality unsafe tires.
The contact owns a 2014 volkswagen jetta equipped with continental conti pro contact tires, size: 205/55/r16 91h. While driving 60 mph, the contact felt a vibration and stated that the tires would skid while accelerating from a stop. In addition, both front tires lost pressure. In addition, the tread separated in chunks from the driver's side tire. The tires did not grip the road and slipped when making turns. The approximate vehicle failure mileage was 78,945 and the tire failure mileage was 30,000.
Key gets stuck in ignition and i cannot turn off the engine.
Key stuck in ignition. The key regularly becomes stuck in the ignition, and you are not able to turn the car off.
Ignition key gets stuck in the on position and cannot turn the car off.it also sticks when off and cannot get the car started.in a web search i find that this is a common problem.the cost to replace is ~$800this is a repeated problem and happens on an almost daily basis. Vw claims there is no recall.in my opinion, this is a major safety issue and should have a recall.
This volswagon jetta has had 3 separate issues with the ignition.the car will not turn off and the key is stuck in the ignition.vw replaced the part once, but will not replace it now.same issue as before.
Key is stuck in the ignition and the car will not shut off
Every single light on the dash is turned on even though there's no problem, and the speedometer meter doesn't move.
Car was on, stopped at a stoplight and vehicle stalled - engine shut off. Two different times on august 26, 2017.
Parking the car in parking space. Car made extremely loud noise (like a backfire) and then auto accelerated. Tried hitting the brake but brake did not decompress. Hit a parked car in front of me.

Key gets stuck in ignition when turning off the engine.
Multiple ignition coils failed. This happened while in motion. Wife stranded on busy freeway.failing is bad enough.they are made primarily of rubber and are melted to the spark plug and cannot be removed by normal means.
Vehicle was stationary, in park, but engine was running. I was in passenger seat and reached over to turn car off with key. I turned key to turn car off and car rolled forward 50 feet running into a rock encased raised flower bed sustaining $5000 worth of damage.
The horn on my 14' vw jetta se has a mind of its own. It will work long enough for me to blow the horn at somebody (sometimes) and then not work again for 2-14 days.
Key gets stuck in the ignition, in the on position, repeatedly, so you can't turn off the engine. Various "band aid fixes" posted online by similar sufferers of this problem, such as putting it in drive then in park repeatedly, or applying strong inward pressure when turning the key only "help" intermittently. Finally nothing worked, and had to leave it in park, idling and unlocked while waiting for a locksmith/mechanic to come remove the ignition, in order to be able to turn the engine off. This poses a significant hazard, not mechanically, but for theft, in an emergency, or just going about the day. The vehicle sat at idle for several hours before the locksmith could come. This is a known issue with the jetta, and no recall has been issued.
My car is not registering a key and vw doesn't seem to care.
Ignition issue.after turning on the car the key gets stuck and it's difficult to remove the key from the ignition.it has taken me upwards of 25 minutes at time to jiggle the key and remove it.this is an inconvenience and a safety issue.
Heating for car cabin. My car is a 2014 and this year in the middle of winter in chicago. My heater gave out. I have no heat. There is a recall for the same default part on the vw passat tdi but not for the vw jetta tdi, even thought the problem and the solution are the exact same.
Our purchased since new and dealer maintained 2014 jetta one month after having the micro switch recall performed (dec 2019) , had a major safety failure-the wheel locked up while moving in reverse, and ignition key was simultaneously stuck. This presentation was unique according to the dealership and is obviously a huge safety issue. I called our vw dealer in watertown, valenti motors who has serviced this vehicle since new and arranged for them to repair this. They found codes suggesting a micro switch failure but claimed the ignition issue was related to the steering column lock housing which was an extended warranty good only until 100k or 10 years. Our vw has 110k miles on it. I called vw customer care and they mentioned that if the recall item-micro switch was being repaired or replaced again, they would cover the steering column lock housing. Once the dealer claimed they would replace the micro switch, vw customer care upon a second call, reneged claiming a warranty is cut and dry. It seems to me that these issues when occurring at the same time are interrelated not to mention a huge safety concern for myself, my family and those driving around this vehicle. This seems highly unethical at a minimum for a manufacturer to hide behind an extended warranty item when the safety of those are involved as a direct result of this malfunctioning item. Obviously i paid the $500 for the uncovered issue as i plan to have my 16 year old drive this vehicle and no one in their right mind would allow this to go unfixed. I cannot believe i am the only vw owner with this type of situation. I have filed a complaint with the ct state attorney general's office, the bbb and am now letting you folks now of this situation as i believe it to be a major safety concern.
The ignition switch on most cars break within 50,000 miles. This stops the owner from being able to remove the ignition key, thus making the vehicle easy to steal.
Volkswagon jetta is leaking transmission fluid. Contacted vw they advised me, my vin was not included in the recall so there was nothing they could do. I explained to them i did not feel safe driving it due to the recall states(38b9/9v) it can cause fires.
Vehicle ignition switch sticks. Sometimes it is hard to turn on other times it is very difficult to turn off.condition is getting worse.
*white powder/mold on the window trims. All four windows. All over the seat and vehicle when a/c was on. I was exposed to this unknown substance for nearly 3 months. I asked vw to conduct an investigation to find out what was that chemical or substance, sadly they neglect my request. From what i found out, some vw vehicles have this problem, yet none has taken a single step to investigate this matter. I would at least like to know what kind of impact his could have on me and the people (kids who were riding with me) car.updated 11/07/2017
Key gets stuck in ignition when turning off the engine.
The ignition switch locks, cannot turn off vehicle. This happens with either of the two ignition keys supplied by dealer.
Ignition switch.my ignition switch is going out, it has become hard for me to turn on and turn off my car. I know there have been class action lawsuits involving other automotive manufacturers and this needs to be a recall. Its dangerous for me to operate my vehicle.
After starting my vehicle i could not turn the key to turn my vehicle off. The key was stuck in a permanent on position.

Key gets stuck in ignition when turning off the engine.
The vehicle will randomly shut off while driving or parked. It has happened in traffic and occurs most often when decelerating, idling, or parked. Obviously, with the engine off, power steering and brakes aren't available.
Ihad. Smoking and hesitation . Had my car checked out at elite auto repair 401 736-8942. . they dida diagnostic and came up with finding a severe leak at top of transmission. Found transmission leaking from oil cooler seal.at that time he found a recall on this . I called vw in warwick r.i and they stated no recall for this. I have copy of recall pulled and it was clearly a recall. I am hoping you will reach out to me. [xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).'*pm
Key gets stuck in ignition and i cannot turn off the engine
Key gets stuck in ignition when turning off the engine.
I complained about this back in march and of course there was nothing done. This has been an ongoing issue with volkswagen according to on line forums. We could not turn off our car, they key would not turn in the ignition. I had to pay over three hundred dollars to get another ignition from volkswagen. Here it is just five months later and we are having the same problem, again! isn't it time to do something and make volkswagen accountable, not only are the stock ignitions defective, so are their replacement ignitions. Please order a recall and make them responsible. This is obviously happening when i come to a stop, place in park and attempt to turn off the ignition, the key does not move.
Sunroof shattered in an upward direction while driving, shortly after, the rear windshield also shattered while driving.neither time was the car hit with anything or anything out of place.
The horn stopped working from one day to the next day.we were driving on friday and used the horn on the road and saturday in the driveway i honked the horn at my wife and it did not work.i also noticed that when we set the car alarm on saturday the horn would not work.
Vehicle in motion, one occurrence on city street w/braking and one occurrence on highway, no braking with large bump, no turns, all 4 door locks unlocked simultaneously and doors opened. Dealer could not find fault codes or have this happen when they drove the car. Vw position is that "this is not possible". No repairs were made. There is no documentation & there is no proof, but it did happen twice since car was purchased new in june 2014.
This vehicle has chrome trim on dashboard air conditioning vents next to driver's and front seat passenger's doors, and that chrome trim puts circular reflections (ovals or ring images)in the exterior rear view mirrors, both sides.when driver glances at these rear view mirrors there are distracting images that initially must be consciously considered to ignore as "false" that another vehicle, or something, is behind the car.over time this "programs" the driver's brain to disregard images in the mirrors.i believe this is a safety issue because it likely increases chance that driver will ignore potentially dangerous tailgaters and the like.the fix would be for vw to remove and replace this plastic chrome trim, using something like with non-glare black plastic.
Key stuck in running position.car will not stop running. Cannot turn car off
Dealership has had my car for 100 days and still not fixed.2014 - 2 clutches and a rebuilt transmission later. Car was returned, same day 5th gear went out again on interstate 95 almost killed my son.
My whole sun roof flew off my car while i was exiting freeway about 45m.p.h.
Parking the car in parking space. Car made extremely loud noise (like a backfire) and then auto accelerated. Tried hitting the brake but brake did not decompress. Hit a parked car in front of me.
The engine may idle and stumble upon acceleration. This may be due to faulty engine control module software misadjusting the valve timing." thi is the current safety recall for the same make model and year of my car, however, my vin has not been included. This is the issue with my car. It will happen while in park, when slowing down to stop. My car has stalled as a result at a stop sign or at a light. Last time this happened was today.
Drivers side wiper blade completely detached from the car during a heavy rainstorm at less than highway speeds.
When i drive the car in cold, snowy weather the windshield wiper fluid will not work and the wiper blades will freeze to the windshield (while moving) when the defroster is on high heat.the wiper fluid i use is designed not to freeze.this resulted on no visibility due to the deicing agent that was used on the roads sticking to my window.i had to exit and drive off the freeway with my head out the window and my visibility was severely limited.i almost hit the rail and the walls inside a tunnel until i could exit because i could not see.

I bought these tires and about30k miles in there was a shaking in my steering wheel. I had been told the tires were almost finished. I had to purchase a whole new set of tires to resolve the issue.
I was driving down the street and hit a pothole. It was a very bad hit so i assumed it gave me a flat tire. I did not have a flat tire, the rim completely cracked in multiple places. I understand a rim bending but this severe of a crack is a danger to anyone who has this car or these rims.
