The contact owns a 2013 volkswagen jetta hybrid. Upon starting the vehicle, the air bag warning indicator illuminated and the horn was inoperable. The vehicle was serviced per nhtsa campaign number: 15v483000 (air bags) in 2015. The vehicle was taken to garnet volkswagen (1620 wilmington pike, west chester, pa 19382 (610) 361-8500) where it was diagnosed with a clockspring failure that needed replacement. The vehicle was not repaired due to part unavailability. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle was already serviced per an unknown clockspring recall. The manufacturer offered no further assistance. The failure mileage was unknown.

My airbag was disabled by a faulty clock spring in the steering wheel. This is the same issue that caused volkswagen to recall 420k cars, including non-hybrid jettas. For reason unknown to me the hybrid jetta was not included in the recall, but it seems that have the exact same issue as other jettas.

During driving conditions the vehicle stalls then speeds up almost causing a crash into the car ahead of me.sometimes when braking, the vehicle surges while my foot is on the brake.the vw dealer diagnosed it as corrosion of the control module within the gearbox.this was the exact problem the car was recalled for under vw recall number 34f6/4v in november 2013.the car was brought in in dec. 2013 per the recallto change the gearbox oil but only had a 12 month warranty.now, the corrosion caused the same problem that the recall tried to prevent. The recall did not correct the problem.the cost to fix is $8500!since it outside the warranty period, vw will not pay.this is a clear safety issue that vw needs to correct. The recall fix of changing the type of gearbox oil did not stop the corrosion which damaged the control module.

We own a vw jetta hybrid have approx. 70k miles.vw has advised we need to replace a mechatron unit to the cost of approx. $2000.have been reading that there are massive issues with this part and that this should be a recall.please advise.

I drove home from work and the car was perfectly fine. I pulled into my garage parked and turned the car off. The next morning i got into my car to go to work. I started the vehicle and put it in reverse and the vehicle did not move after i let off the brake. So i shifted the car back into park and as soon as i let off the brake the vehicle violently jerked forward and then the entire car and electrical system shut off.

I was driving on a 2 lane street when the check hybrid flashed on my dash. The car still continued to drive normal on engine power but would no longer switch into hybrid mode. I took the car to the dealer the next day and was told that the clutch that switches the electric motor to the transmission was bad and the whole transmission needed to be replaced. I found that odd because the transmission ran fine when running on the gas engine only. The dealer also stated that the repair would not be under warranty because my car has 73000 miles and the powertrain coverage ends at 60000. I stated that i thought it should be covered under the hybrid warranty which is 100000 miles. Also because it was the check hybrid warning light that came on and not the check engine. To no avail the dealer would not budge. The car is at the waiting on a new transmission to arrive.i find the whole situation ironic that the whole transmission needed to be replace and it is not covered given the recall that was issued about the contaminated transmission fluid. (recall was done) and the fact that i received a letter from volkswagen with updated maintenance information about the transmission fluid and filter change intervals just 4 weeks before the problem occurred.

At 45 miles per hour on a four lane street the engine turned off. The car continued to function on lithium ion battery with epc and battery icons lit, until the charge went to zero and all electrical functions including gauges ceased. The car was dead but rolling. I had a quarter mile with no traffic in front of me to stop, luckily i did 15 feet before a red light at an intersection. After missing two lights i was able to restart and drive with diminished performance (little power) to my dealership that was 1 mile away. This is not how my service invoice was written up. In writing they put "stalled at light". I am attaching an email from the service manager stating that no problems could be found.

I'm really frustrated here with volkswagen it seems like every since the beginning of the year january the car's been in the shop more than i've been at the doctor. At first it was the water pump for the turbo they had to be replaced then two weeks after i got that repaired it was the brake sensor then a week after that it was the vacuum pump for the brakes, and the work doesn't stop from there it seems like from there i had to get a repair kit it's a seal that goes between the transmission and the engine including the dual clutch for the hybrid and engine transmission. As of today may 13th 2016 i was just told that volkswagen is going ahead and replace the entire complete transmission because the same error code came up from the last repairs that were done there's been roughly around $12,000 repairs either paid by the insurance extended warranty or volkswagen. I've paid out of pocket roughly around $500 plus rental insurance that i had to get because of get another car to move around.i have filed several complaints with volkswagen of america to have the car replaced buy them and they continue to deny left and right saying that i should be going through the warranty repairs. It seems like no matter what repairs are done to have the transmission repaired and 4000 miles later the same problem occurs there's definitely a safety concern there in the safety concern is that i can't drive far enough or take a small little vacation with the family without having some type of concerned if my vehicles in it died in the middle of the road.

2013 vw jetta hybridthe vechiles felt like it was cutting in and out at ever stop and jerked us back and forth alittle.. After returning to north coast automall of akron. They said that was normal that all hybrids did that.. So yes i was excited haven't had a new car in along time . After willing and dealing with banks they said we need 1500.00 down and you must buy this extended warranty or all bets off. Not trying to fight with anyone at the time my girl was upset and didn't want to pay another 2500 for this warranty that we told fixed anything on this car.. After finally just saying screw it guess you never know what kind of problems may come. So they promised me a new tire and gave me a platinum extended warranty packet sent us on are way . Also include was the vechiles had light damage to it nothing major..., so after driving the car for a couple days notice serious staking like and jerky bad .. So took it back to deal to get tire put on and vechiles checked went to mall across street to come back to we can't get ur car running it just won't start.. So after leaving in a lender car let me remind you the car i just got 3 days before.. So dave walters vw dealership calls and sayneed a mechtronic unit.. .. So at 63000 miles they said looks like it's going be about 3,000 to fixs.. Only 3,000 miles out of powertrain warranty vw corp.. Tells me powell we can't help you this matter has been resolved years ago.. So after fighting with vw and ncoast i pretty much was so after months of fighting back and forth summer hits.. No a/c and vw of brunswick tells me 500.00 and well fix the a/c and get your extended warranty to fixed the tranny.. So after days of a loaner again i'm back at square well your extended warranty doesn'tafter months and months of getting pushed around bye lairs ,fraud , false info and sold a false extended warranty and vw corp that doesn't want

The hybrid system drive has failed, fuel door actuator part that was recommended is incorrect in their system.i think they have difficult issues with reading my vin because my car actually has numerous recalls but aren't seen.emission repairs have been done and not resolved. After those repairs by vw dealership under warranty, the hybrid system failed and now does not engage the electric motor

The contact owns a 2013 volkswagen jetta hybrid. While driving 35 mph, the horn failed to operate when depressed. The dealer and manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 32,000.

As i am driving the car on highway or street the car just stalls and turns off. Nrought it to dealer and was told out of warranty and would have to pay $9500 to repair hybrid battery system and new transmission. The usual that the vin number is not included in recall which is just not right.and of course mileage over 70000. Waiting for a recall so this dangerous problem is fixed

Error code p309d, experienced loss of power while driving.car would not go into hybrid mode, then 1 day later, experienced loss of power while driving.volkswagen has recalled same model and year, however they said my vin was not included. Gear shift box replaced under recall in 2014.volkswagen customer service will not assist with the repair or include it in the recent new recall.while driving and pressing the gas petal, the car won't move forward and feels like its stuck in neutral.has to turn off and in the car to go 50 ft.car isn't driveable or safe.

When driving car it just stops out of nowhere,on highway and on street. Very dangerous. Then it doesn't start up right away ,and i have to wait between 5 and 20 minutes. This happens in motion

The contact owns a 2013 volkswagen jetta hybrid. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 19v866000 (power train). The contact stated that while driving 25 mph, the steering ceased and the vehicle decelerated and stalled with the accelerator pedal depressed. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was restarted but failed to shift into gear. The vehicle was first towed to the residence, then to pignataro volkswagen (10633 evergreen way, everett, wa 98204) to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 111,936.

At 63k miles engine needs replacing!there is 0% compression from the 2nd cylinder and loss of 2.5 quarts of oil.car has been maintained regularly.vehicle was in motion when loss of rev occurred, engine light began flashing.vehicle would no longer cruise above 30 mph.

The car is a 2013 vw jetta hybrid with 64,189 miles on it , but only 4 years old.the car started to have a problem with its own charging system while stopped during driving the vehicle.it would not idle properly.i took it in to toms river vw and they told me it was a transmission problem, which would cost $ 9,000to replace.they said they would try to get me "financial assistance" from volkswagen of america.i was left in the dark for four days till i ecieved a phone call from one, ashley, (no last name given) and she said vw was offering 75% of cost.i told her this was unacceptable and asked to speak to someone else.she kept refusing, though she did say she was "sorry this was happening".i want vw to replace this part.i should not have to pay anything.this car was never worked on or taken anywhere but to a volkswagen dealership.vw does admit that there is a mechanical defect in these transmissions, in the hybrids. My daughter and son in law who purchased the car and myself have seen online that these cars were recalled.the exact date, i first noticed this i do not remember, because i actually thought that maybe it was just bad fuel.i filled it two times with premium gasoline to see if that was it.then i called my volkswagen dealer. One time it acyually shut off on me at a light , as well.

The dealer and the manufacturer were not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 110,000.

I was driving on the highway and the car stopped moving. It was a transmission issue with the gear box. The same recall that the volkswagen has but when i look up my vin it doesn't come. However i had the same issue happen as the one described in the recall. I replaced the transmission but the car is still jerking around a lot. I want volkswagen to take care of that.

I pulled off the highway and was turning around.the car suddenly stalled while driving, bucked and then would not go into gear.i took it to the dealership and they said the transmission needs to be replaced.my hybrid has a dsq transmission that is so faulty, vw has extended the warranty on this part in every country but the us!i call vw customer care.they could not answer my questions regarding the dsq transmission and its well documented issues and why vw of america is not addressing these issues in its hybrids.the 7 gear dsq transmission is only used in the hybrid in the us and the vw hybrid is not a big seller in the us so there is less reported information for this issue.however, many hybrid owners in the us have had this problem and vw is aware of it.there should be a recall or an warranty extension issued like other countries for this part.thank you.,

Gasoline smell when engine starts. More often when very cold. Also when car shifts from electric motor to gasoline power when car is moving or stopped. Authorized volkswagen dealer could find no fuel leak when the car was service in may 2018. This has probably happened 12 times since 1/1/2019.

I first took this car to the dealer in late 2015 to report an unusual driving characteristic i haven't experienced in over 40 years of driving.when inching forward or backwards in this car, there is a "jerky" unexpected, temporary surging of the vehicle.the experienced vw mechanic attributed this to a "dry clutch" that operates much like a manual transmission.when slightly releasing the brake to move slowly either forward or backwards, the car has been programmed to "release" the clutch and move forward -- since most of the time when the brake is released that is what the driver intends.however, if you are just releasing the brake to inch forward or backwards, as when parking, the sudden surge feels very unexpected and dangerous.in august 2016, we noticed a large pool fluid under the front of the car.after driving it to the dealership, we were informed that the mechatronic dry clutch unit had failed and needed to be replaced.after the new mechatronics unit was installed, under warranty and without any cost to us, we realized two different characteristics not experienced before:1) the dashboad displayed the gear the car was in for the first time, i.e., d1, d2 through d7.that feature had simply never worked before, unbeknowst to us at the time; 2) the car drove with more power, and it appears better gas mileage as well so far.the service rep mentioned that the mechanic had to see the physical mechantronics unit first, because it was impossible to tell by vin # alone if it is the correct part.the conclusion i have drawn is that the wrong mechatronics unit was installed on our car originally, which caused not only bad driving characteristics, but also did not register the gear the car was in on the dashboard readout.i have a remaining question what other damage this caused to the car, and how vw intends will handle that in the future.

After leaving work, i went about two blocks, turned the corner and my car stalled out on me, i was able to coast to the side of the road and out the way of traffic. I shut the vehicle off and back on and it would not go into gear, drive or reverse. I towed it to nearest vw dealership which was 4 hours away and they said i need a new transmission and even though it is the same year make and model as other vehicles with recall problem, volkswagen says my vin does not fall under the recall and i have to pay $7295 for a new transmission. My car only has 67,000 miles on it, and the warranty does not cover the problem.

Coming to home and was about to turn onto another street when car suddenly jerked and wouldn't go in drive. Had to stop put in park and wait for a few minutes and then it began to move. Dealership said it is transmission but the car isn't over 130,000 miles

The contact owns a 2013 volkswagen jetta hybrid. While driving approximately 40 mph, the vehicle hesitated, lost power, and then regained power. The vehicle was taken to the dealer (david maus volkswagen north, 1050 lee rd, orlando, fl 32810) where it was diagnosed that the gearbox was corroded and the transmission and the clutch pack need to be repaired. I stated that i thought it should be covered under the hybrid warranty which is 100000 miles. Also because it was the check hybrid warning light that came on and not the check engine. After first starting the vehicle and driving approximately 5 minutes or less, when the vehicle is at a full stop, attempting to accelerate the vehicle hesitates for a least 3 to 5 seconds multiple times before the engine engages and the vehicle starts to move forward.this has happened on at least 7 different occasions and the dealer has indicated that they cannot replicate the problem although multiple incidents have been reported with the same dsg transmission on 2014 vw jetta diesel models.it felt like a choppy stutter. It was worse when the car was cold but always happened when i was applying just a small amount of pressure on the throttle.i also have a similar issue when launching the car, when putting the pedal down hard when entering fast traffic from a dead stop. I'd hit the gas and the whole car would hedge as power would disappear for a terrifying few seconds. It was something quite different than turbo lag.i have a complaint into vw and they are supposed to be working with the dealer to resolve.as of 4/9/14, i have not been able to obtain an appointment.

2013 jetta hybrid 7 speed transmission failed at 63k. Transmission dash light didn't illuminate but rather the hybrid error message...which should be covered under the 100k hybrid warranty. Vw says i need to pay even thought there is a huge problem with these transmissions failing.

Vehicle started experiencing failure with the automatic start/stop unit in the car. At stop lights car would cycle between battery and gas engines continuously.diagnostic test by dealership indicated that the transmission needed to be replaced . Car is only has 82000 miles, driven in normal conditions. Found recall related to transmission but told by vw that my car vin was not included in recall.

Car was running fine, but as we drove down the farm to market road the transmission disengaged (permanently) and we coasted to a stop. The car had been repaired under the 2013 recall campaign for the same problem. Dealer wants $6,000 to repair even though it has the same symptoms mentioned in the 2013 campaign.

While driving the vehicle at varying speeds the transmission will just stop engaging causing me to have to come to a stop, put the vehicle into park and restart the ignition. I have taken the vehicle to 2 different vw dealerships and have been told that the gearbox has gone bad and my whole transmission needs to be replaced which would cost roughly $6100. This all happened just outside the 70k mile warranty. I have attempted to contact vw numerous times but have encountered 2+ hour waiting times just to talk to someone. Online research has show that this happens to almost all of the 2013 jetta hybrids but no additional recall has been made to fix this issue.

The contact owns a 2013 volkswagen jetta hybrid. While the vehicle was stopped at a stop sign, it stopped and started randomly and the check engine warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to volkswagen of north attleborough (located at 563 kelley blvd ,route 152, north attleborough, ma 02760, (508) 695-7131) where it was diagnosed that the transmission failed and needed to be replaced. The contact later took the vehicle to copeland volkswagen of brockton (122 liberty st, brockton, ma 02301, (508) 500-8768) where the computer was reset. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to copeland volkswagen where it was diagnosed that the transmission failed and there was possible electric motor failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was later taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the transmission failed. The contact took the vehicle back to copeland volkswagen for the repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and provided a case number. The failure mileage was approximately 75,000.

My 2013 volkswagen jetta hybrid was amongst those with the gearbox oil recall.it was manufactured in december of 2012, and the gearbox oil was replaced in december 2013 by the dealership.like others who were a part of this recall, my vehicle has suffered from grinding noises and lurching when driving in reverse down the slope of my driveway.it also will lurch at times when trying to shift from 1st to 2nd (with the automatic transmission), and now the vehicle is having issues where the engine kicks on while idling for two seconds, shuts off for one second, and then kicks back on for two seconds.i took the car into a vw dealership in june that told me my transmission needed to be replaced and that it would cost $6,300 because my vehicle was no longer in warranty (~95,000 miles, 2.5 years of driving).after reading several of the complaints that share this same issue, it appears that volkswagen tried to make things right by replacing the corrosive oil initially used, but that the time the oil was a part of the gearbox, sufficient damage was done to reduce the life of the transmission.i have reached out to vw and they simply state that they changed the oil (12 months after it was in the gear box and a part of the transmission) and that the warranty has passed and that i will have to pay the cost.i am very concerned that i will try and accelerate from a stopped position and be unable to drive because of the issues described by others.the vw dealership predicted that this will happen at some point, and that i should drive it until it does and then get the vehicle repaired.i believe this is a systemic issue tied to this group of previously recalled vw's and that a recall should be put in place to require they repair the transmission.

Vehicle began experiencing failure with the automatic start stop unit in the car.at stop lights car would cycle between battery and gas engines continuously. Taken to dealership where they said the transmission is out.car is only at 86000 miles driven in normal conditions.seeing recalls of vehicle related to transmission but my vin was not included. Additional recalls related to dq200 transmission in other countries that have resulted in warranty extensions.vw of america is yet to respond to inquiry on why vw has extended powertrain warranty related to dq200 transmission in other countries with production dates through november 2013 but not the united states.

The contact stated while attempting to start the vehicle, the vehicle would not start. The failure mileage was approximately 119,450.

I am a 74 year old retired man, the owner of a 2013 volkswagen jetta hybrid with 34,000 miles purchased new in november 2013. The check-engine light lit up on my dashboard last month and i promptly brought the car to my local vw dealer. I was informed that the clutch was slipping in first gear (this is an automatic transmission) and that the appropriate repair was to replace the entire transmission. The dealer contacted volkswagen and was informed that as the car was 7 months beyond the 5 year 50,000 mile powertrain warranty i would be responsible for the costs of transmission replacement. I have personally since spoken to two representatives of corporate vw as follows: sharon g.vwoa customer care centervw region case manager supervisorphone: 248.754.3277kevin scottexecutive specialist in customer relationsphone: 248.754.5000 ext 43809 both reiterated the party line, i.e. The vehicle is beyond the 5 yr. Powertrain warranty and vw has no responsibility to address the malfunction.no car, by any manufacturer, should have automatic transmission failure at 34,000 miles regardless how old the car may be.furthermore, the dealer confirms that he has seen multiple jetta hybrids with the identical transmission problem that he has replaced, most occurring within the warranty period. He too was astounded to learn that corporate vw would refuse to cover the repair!to be told that vw will not stand behind its product in what is clearly a manufacturing defect is beyond belief. As i have reached the end of my ability to have vw assume responsibility for the repair i am hoping that you will be able to contact them on my behalf to resolve this issue.thank you in advance for your assistance,(xxxxxx)redacted to protect personally identifiable information pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6)

My vehicle was parked and running. I tried to reverse and the transmission did not engage. My car made horrible grinding noises and would not move in any gear. The check engine light immediately came on. The car only has 68,000 miles and the dealership informed me today that it would cost $9,000 to repair it. I'd gone to the dealership for all routine maintenance up to that point. The car had a recall on the gearbox fluid, and i believe the transmission failure is a result of that initial mistake from vw. I've read forums and blogs from many other people with the same transmission failure early on.

The brakes constantly squeal when braking. I have complained to south coast santa ana vw 3 times and brought the car in and they insist there is nothing wrong with the brakes and that it's just part of the material they manufacture the brakes with. They claim that the squealing is normal and caused by brake dust. The result of the faulty brakes is loss in stopping power. The car also has been lunging or what feels like slipping gears when i accelerate or decelerate. It 's a sudden loss of power when driving on both surface streets and stop and go traffic that creates an unsafe driving condition. The condition seems to persist more when starting from a cold start. Volkswagen south coast dealer in santa ana claims to be unable to replicate the issue, but i have been able to replicate it countless times as well as other drivers.

All related to transmission fluid pressure loss. Front mechatronics cover bent out at top and massive fluid loss. Internal transmission failure)"volkswagen performed a recall service on this unit in 2014 in order to prevent this failure, yet the failure happened regardless.(i was not aware of this recall until only after the failure occurred and i researched the history of this vehicle.)

Letter from congressman zeldin on behalf of constituent re volkswagen jetta transmission recall. *lddespite the consumer taking advantage of the recall repair, the transmission still failed.volkswagen refused to offer any assistance.

Jetta hybrids -seven-speed dual-clutch transmission that resulted in a loss of drive. This is what i was told by the dealership and what appears on the recall. The engine shuts down and a coast after approximately 30 seconds. I was forced to get a tow to the dealership which i had to pay for. I am seriously wondering why my jetta is not "included" in the 2013 vw jetta hybrid recall??? i have been to the antwerpen vw dealership in glen burnie, md on 2 occasions and they contend my car is not part of the recall. Even though when i called, i was told the problem was exactly the same as what is listed in the recall information. I was told that the part has to be ordered from germany and it would take a week to arrive and then they could do the work. It has been over a week and can' t get anyone to contact me. Not only that, i have not been able to meet with the service manager(he was in an important meeting) but he has not returned my calls. I was also not permitted to get a loaner car from the dealership for something that is beyond my control.

Mechatonics unit keeps failing. Car either loses drive completely or shifting becomes very rough which creates a huge safety issue especially when entering traffic. The mechatronics unit failed on this car in february of 2016, without about 80,000 miles on the vehicle. The unit was replaced, but the replacement unit failed in october of 2017 with about 120,000 miles. There was a safety recall of 2013 jetta hybrids, but this particular vin doesn't seem to be covered by that recall, and yet it has the exact same symptoms as the recalled units.

2013 vw jetta hybridthe vechiles felt like it was cutting in and out at ever stop and jerked us back and forth alittle.. After returning to north coast automall of akron. Idled in left lane, waiting for green light to make left.when light turned green, attempted to move forward.the car to lurched violently and stalled in the lane of traffic.the car lurched so strongly that when it recovered, my rear bumper hit the front license plate of the car behind me bending their license plate. All the warning lights on dash lit up like the vegas strip. Despite all efforts, could not get car to restart.then car went dash went dark.still could not get car to restart.tried to get car to restart for about 10 minutes. Car finally restarted and i was able to complete left turn and park vehicle in parking lot at my place of employment.there i exchanged information with the other driver regarding damage to other vehicle.went to work all day, and was able to start the car with no issues at the end of the work day.drove car straight to vw.after 4 days at vw, vw concludes that the dual clutch moderator needs to be replaced for a cost of $6000.many 2013 jetta hybrids have been recalled for transmission concerns including issues where the car is unable to handle the transition between gas and electric however this vin is not included.car is not safe.driver does not retain control of vehicle's movements.

The contact owns a 2013 volkswagen jetta hybrid. While driving 40 mph, the vehicle lost power and accelerated on its own. The contact was able to pull the vehicle over safely to the road shoulder and turned off the engine. When the vehicle was restarted, it would not shift into drive and the service reminder warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to midland volkswagen of columbia (655 broad river road, columbia, sc 29210, 803-988-1000) where it was diagnosed that a new transmission or "e machine" needed to be installed. The dealer stated that their mechanics were not skilled enough to repair the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 104,000.

We own a vw jetta hybrid have approx. 70k miles.vw has advised we need to replace a mechatron unit to the cost of approx. $2000.have been reading that there are massive issues with this part and that this should be a recall.please advise.

When driving car it just stops out of nowhere,on highway and on street. Very dangerous. Then it doesn't start up right away ,and i have to wait between 5 and 20 minutes. This happens in motion

The vehicle was stopped on a city street and would not move when the gas pedal was stepped on. There was no failure lights or indication that something was wrong. The vehicle was placed in park and then back into drive with no change. We turned the vehicle off and restarted the car. The transmission did engage and we were able to get home but there was a lot of jerking. Once the car was home the check engine light came on and we were no longer able to start it. The car was towed to the vw dealer and we were told the transmission needed to be replaced even though it only has 86,000 miles. Vw has said its out of warranty and will not be paid for. The failure, as described by the mechanic could be do to the corrosive transmission fluid that other cars were recalled for. Not sure why our vin was not included in the recall.

Hello, the brakes on the new 2013 jetta hybrid are very difficult to control. When i told my dealer, i was told that the brakes behaved as intended. A google search for "jetta hybrid brakes feel weird" showed multiple reports on strange behaving brakes. I think this is a safety issue. I cannot come to a smooth, steady stop. Either it is too fast or too slow and i have to slam on the brakes at the end. I think vw should be required to make the brakes on the jetta hybrid safer and retrofit vehicles already on the road. Thank you for your consideration.

On the freeway, i slammed on the brakes, as there was an accident in front of me, and the regenerative brakes did not activate when slamming on the brakes. The standard abs disk brakes, without regenerative braking, are not sufficient enough to stop the vehicle in an emergency instance such as this. This is either an issue with the regenerative brakes initializing when they are needed (which is a known issue with the hybrid model of the 2013 volkswagen jetta), or the standard anti-lock disk brakes not being sufficient enough to stop the car according to the federal motor vehicle safety standards and regulations by the us department of transportation. The standard that this vehicle fails is: "standard no. 105 - hydraulic and electric brake systems - passenger cars (effective 1-1-68) this standard specifies requirements for vehicles equipped with hydraulic and electric service brake systems and associated parking brake systems to ensure safe braking performance under normal conditions and emergency conditions" (http://www.nhtsa.gov/cars/rules/import/fmvss/). This failure of the braking system resulted in me being unable to stop the car within a reasonable distance for my speed, and i rear ended the car in front of me.

Braking is very unpredictable nearly causes an accident daily. Car switches between regenerative braking/friction brakes constantly and makes it hard to properly slow the car. Very dangerous. Dealer says this is normal.

I have noticed that there is a mystery leak coming from somewhere in the vehicle that the service department has been unable to locate.the research that i have been able to find has said that it could be a possible leak in the sunroof drain, front windshield drain, or ac condenser drain that is somehow managing to leak into the cabin of the vehicle.this can cause severe water damage and mold issues that could in turn cause a health hazard for those allergic or have issues with mold.

The contact owns a 2013 volkswagen jetta hybrid premium. The contact stated that the electronic control warning light illuminated as the vehicle accelerated independently. The contact was at a complete stop when the vehicle then independently accelerated to 5 mph but the contact was unable to accelerate any higher than 5 mph. Upon acceleration onto a highway or from a light, the car will only accelerate slightly, then loses power and just coasts.it requires shutting off the car and restarting.this is intermittent.i was almost rear-ended on the highway due to this issue
