Car shuddered and lost speed while turning on a city street.. Epc light came on. Dealer ran diagnostic and said there was a cylinder problem and then said problem was resolved with a software update. This is a brand new car only 5,000 miles. I am skeptical this was just a software issue given all the reports i have read of other vw drivers having this same epc and shuddering issue and they have lost ability to accelerate and sometimes lost all power and breaking ability on the highway.i am scared for myself and my child.

The contact owns a 2017 volkswagen golf sportswagen. While the vehicle was stopped with the brake pedal depressed, the rpms decreased to zero. Approximately 4 seconds after releasing the brake pedal, the vehicle failed to respond and then suddenly lunged forward and accelerated. The contact indicated that the failure was intermittent. The vehicle was taken to jim ellis volkswagen (5901 peach tree industrial blvd, champlee, ga) to be diagnosed, but the failure could not be duplicated. After the third visit to the dealer for the same failure, the dealer diagnosed that there was engine timing failure due to low quality fuel. The contact was informed to use premium fuel to rectify the failure. The contact indicated that the vehicle owner's manual instructed them to use regular fuel only. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 14,500.

Continental procontact tx tires are the problem. Went round a left-hand bend at 55 mph and tires lost air. My tire inflation system in the car immediately came on warning me that tires had lost pressure. Standard/recommended tire size on vehicle.
