Takata recalli moved to the south bend indiana area last in the fall of 2017.the local dealer (about 5 miles away) is gurney-leep.i have been trying to have my automobile serviced to address the safety issue but the dealer refuses to make an appointment for me, refuses to create or put me on a contact list when the part "becomes available" and refuses to order the part so that the issue can be addressed.i have called the dealer multiple times since 2017.this year i called on jan 10, feb 12, and march 7 only to be told to call back next week.i have contacted vw corporate customer service twice but the dealer still will not perform the repair.corporate advised me to drive approximately 80 miles north (about 90 minutes) to have the repair completed.it is my belief that the dealer is only performing this service when other automobiles that need another service are brought into the dealership so they can maximize the revenue.dealers like this defeat the entire recall effort.

"takata recall"- i did not receive any communication from volkwagen or my car dealer, darcars volkswagen of silver spring, md.i only learned about this recall when i approached another dealer about using my leased eos (returning 6 months early) for the lease of a gmc vehicle.that dealer is the one who told me about the airbags recall and told me they the value of my car, which otherwise is in excellent condition, would be negative value because the airbags had not been remedied.i had no clue there was a takata airbag recall for my car!!!doesn't vw or my vw dealer have some responsibility to notify their customers of a recall that could be a danger??!!

Takata recall received letter in the mail re: safety recalled. Contatcted vw to request 1. Termination of lease or 2. That the fix the car immediately or 3. Provide me with an alternate vehicle that is safe to drive in the interrim and the overall result is that they have not been helpful at all. I am very dissatisified with the way they are handling this and i am very scared to drive this vehicle with myself or family members in it, as the letter they sent indicates this situation "may result in serious injury or death to vehicle occupants".i pay a lot of money to lease this vehicle and i would expect a certain level of professionalism and concern for the safety of the consumer, especially by a car manufacturer.i am very concerned for the personal well being and safety of my family and myself and am requesting assistance to deal with this matter.

Takata recall.no solution available and no indication of timing for solution.car can not be sold!

"takata recall" my 2014 vw eos has had 2 major leaks that resulted in water standing in the car.i have had to use a green machine to vacuum out the water twice.the humidly was so high and the temperature in the summer resulted in 100% humidity in the car.the dealer finally got the leaks fixed and vw replaced the carpets.i am still worried about the air bags and vw will do nothing, the lady told me government (nhtsa) has not given a time line for repairs and their hands are tied.my car sets in the back yard i am reluctant to drive it.the parts are not available and the car has less than 2500 miles. I brought the car new and wasted the money you guys need to step up andget this problem resolved, vw says even with the location being in tennessee there is still 6 more years before the airbag needs to be replaced. How many more people have to get killed or injured before you step up? i do not want to risk my life on the chance the airbag is good for 6 years.you know there is a problem force them to fix it.

2014 volkswagen eos comfort. Consumer writes in regards to takata sdi driver frontal airbag. *ld

Takata recall.i cannot believe that i have received notification that i have a part in my airbag that has the potential to kill me, but that vw has absolutely no idea when they will be able to replace it for me. If this is the case then i should be provided with a car that does not have this problem.how can i be expected to drive a car that i have been told has this potentially life threatening component.its utterly shameful.

I am getting no where with the manufacturer i called spoke to repetitive on the passenger air bag.i requested what airbag product.they did not know.please contact me immediately.[xxx].my name [xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

Takata recall. I was told by vw that my vehicle is unsafe but there is not yet a fix for my vehicle. Must they take the lease back or do i simply not drive the vehicle and have one less car?

Subject: takata recall. Dear sir/madam,we own a 2014 volkswagen eos and received notification earlier this year about the air bags recall; however, the parts to do the repair seem to be still unavailable and our car is in the waiting list yet. As of know, unfortunately, volkswagen has been unable to give us a date to repair our car. How is it possible that this may happen when vehicle occupants may result in serious injury or death? since the recall we have the stress of wondering if somebody is going to hit us and if the defective airbag might explode when deployed. Our car is still under warranty, as it was originally purchased in february last year (2015), we were wondering if we are entitled to a refund or some kind of compensation because we are intending to sell this car under the current recall conditions.we understand that manufacturers are required to repair, replace, or refund our car free of charge and in a reasonable amount of time, which we believe has already been exceeded. Unfortunately, the term reasonable has not been defined. How is it possible that volkswagen (and any other manufacturer) is not obliged after a specific amount of time to refund the buyers or to provide with a substitution car until the airbags are fixed at least? i am requesting nhtsa's assistance to defend our right to a recall remedy and in general to deal with this matter as we are concerned for our safety.thank you very much in advance.best regards

While driving at approx. 30 mph <1 mile from home the transmission suddenly downshifted into first gear, and my wife was thrown into the steering wheel as the seatbelt did not catch.the car was driven home at 10 mph and parked.i drove it around the block approx. 30 minutes later and experienced the same thing from 25 mph on a neighborhood street.again, the seatbelt did not restrain me when the car suddenly downshifted.in both cases, the check engine light illuminated, and the transmission malfunction indicator came on.had this occurred at highway speed the results could have been catastrophic!the sudden downshift would no doubt have caused the car to become extremely difficult to control and any vehicles nearby could easily have created a multi-vehicle accident.

While driving on hwy at approx. 50 mph, automatic transmission shifted by itself to neutral.unable to shift back to drive, pulled over and using breaks was able to stop vehicle on emergency lane.was able then to change gear to park. Turn off car and start again.called mechanic who had previously heard of neutral switch vw issues.this eos only has 26,000 miles and is 4 yrs old since purchased new.thus still covered by powertrain warranty until april 2019.dealership diagnosis calls for a $1525 shift lever with multi-switch (includes neutral switch) replacement reportedly not covered by any warranty of this vehicle, including the powertrain warranty that eos has for 5yrs / 60,000 miles.a safety hazard in the making prone to hwy accidents and possible loss of life and multi vehicle risk and failureto recognize and apply warranty offered at purchase time on new vehicle

I was driving on a highway on sunday afternoon, october 25, when the glass sunroof of my car exploded & shattered out of nowhere & without any warning. Pieces of glass came down through the hole, showering my dog & i. I pulled to the side safely & call the police. Thank god the dog & i were not injured & i didn't injure other drivers. I didn't hit a pot hole & i didn't feel like i was hit by a rock or any object, i wasn't even near any overpasses. I contacted volkswagen to ask how & why this could have happened for no reason. I was instructed to take the car to one of their dealerships in the area for inspection/investigation. I was told it is impossible to determine the cause of the damage.they could not conclude if the damage was due to external source or defect based on the inspection/investigation at the dealership. As such, volkswagen refused to cover the cost of repair because there are no recalls of such problem & because my car is out of the warranty. I am so upset about this issue.

While driving on a highway the glass sunroof just exploded. It sent glass flying but it did not hit any cars behind me. There were no overpasses whereby someone could have thrown an object to break the glass. My wife and i were not injured because, thankfully, the inside cover was not open or we would have been severely injured as we were amazed at the sharp pieces that stayed on the inside of he sunroof. They were like daggers and could not believe that volkswagen would not use safety glass. Volkswagen repaired the sunroof without any charge but insisted there was no problems reported about this. Obviously, this was strange because why would they fix this if nothing was wrong because it was a very expensive part to replace and it wasn't just the glass. Just last night on nbc news they had a story about sunroofs exploding in the same manner as mine and again, fortunately, the people had the inside cover over the sunroof so they were not injured by the flying glass. Hopefully, something can be done before someone gets injured or worse, killed. In my case i won't open the cover under any circumstances.
