I'm concerned when this safety recall will be initiated to fix the airbag issue?my airbag light is on.
Driver's seat airbag is defective.this was discovered when the vw dealer repaired the steering wheel airbag on recall.i've researched the seat airbag and taken to an independent master auto mechanic who told me the wiring to the seat airbag is getting caught on the drivers seat track.definitely, an assembly design defect that vw refuses to acknowledge.there is an internet full of identical driver's seat airbag issues.

Takata recall.i called my vw dealer to ask about when the recall replacement airbag would be ready.they said it wouldn't be ready for "a few months" yet.this seems like an unreasonable amount of time for a recall announced in february which could result in "serious injury or death".

I have replaced my clock spring twice in 3 years, at the same dealership, southeast vw in santa ana, ca.my steering wheel will make a noise and all controls will stop working and airbag light will turn on. I brought my car in for the airbag recall and they are now stating the clock spring is broken and are wanting to charge me $541.
Takata recall: my call was recalled in february of 2016 for replacement of the air bag inflator. After numerous call to request the new part & after checking in person at the norm reeves volkswagen dealership (irvine, ca) in november of 2016, they still cannot remedy the situation.the dealership claims that it only receives a few parts each week! they just today (4-3-17) put me on a list and will supposedly call when the part comes in for my make & model.for a life threatening recall situation, this is completely unacceptable!! why didn't they put me on "the list" when i called the prior time? or when i complained in person during my service last november?volkswagen obviously does not consider this recall a priority. Please pressure them to replace these defective inflators immediately!!

Takata recall - i received notice 6 months ago that my airbag has been placed on the recall list and a replacement is still unavailable.6 months should be more than adequate time to get the replacement.why is this taking so long?i logged onto this website because this is where the documents i received directs me to go if i "still cannot obtain satisfaction you may file a complaint...".
Last week, while turning into our driveway, the steering wheel made a sound like rubber grinding.immediately, an error message appeared indicating an airbag failure.the following day, while driving on a 4-lane highway, another vehicle began a lane change while i was in its blind spot.i applied the brakes, and attempted to sound the horn to alert the other motorist to avoid collision, however the car's horn failed.the accident was avoided, but the experience was unnerving.my wife took the vehicle to a local vw service center on 10/5/18, and was told the failure was related to an issue with the clock spring, a repair which she was told was uncovered by recall.we were a little suspicious, because the dealer had just performed a takata airbag recall service in february, then today we received another recall notice regarding the airbag but not this related issue. Some investigation in online publications like forbes, indicated that there was a recall for the clock spring in 2015, with this vehicle listed in the model list and production dates.however, vw does not list this recall under our vin number.again we are suspicious.it is our feeling that the failure of the clock spring, affecting the safety features of the driver's air bag and the car horn (the horn is not broken, the clock spring is), poses a motorist safety risk to this and other vehicles in traffic.
Nhtsa recall number: 16v078,manufacturer recall number: 69m9 has not been implemented. I have not received a call for the implementation from the dealer.
While my wife was driving home from work last night on a dark curvy two lane road, the right front headlight, fog light, marker light/signal, right rear tail light/brake light/signal, third brake light, and strangely the left front side maker, all went out at once. Only the daytime running lamp, side marker light, and mirror signal light were still functional on the right side of the car. When she parked in the driveway i checked the fuses and found the 30-amp fuse at the rear of the under hood fuse block was very hot but not blown. When i wiggled it all the affected lights came back on. I then removed the fuse and the plastic around the terminal that was towards the passengers side of the car was melted. The fuse block itself also suffered some melting at this terminal. The 30-amp fuse was not blown so i know power didn't exceed the capacity of the fuse that is the correct size/rating for that location. After some research i am finding that this potential fire hazard and confirmed safety hazard is more common than i would like to see. She is now afraid of driving her car at night in fear that all lights will go out and cause her to get into an accident either from her leaving the road due to poor lighting or getting hit by another vehicle due to inoperable tail lights. Any info or assistance would be greatly appreciated.

The contact owns a 2010 volkswagen eos. While driving the vehicle, it independently shifted into neutral. The anti skid control warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was able to be operated by restarting the vehicle numerous times. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the vehicle had a master computer error and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. In addition, the vehicle also experienced a complete loss of power. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the failure was a transmission malfunction. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 68,000.updated 06/15/16*ljthe consumer stated the master computer was repaired. However, two months later, the problem resurfaced again.after the transmission gear box was repaired, the cruise control stopped working.updated 06/27/16.
Initially, the left front and rear lights stopped working.after a day, the started to work again.a week later almost all exterior lights and indicators ceased working. This was the case when the car was moving and stationary.i took the car to the vw dealership and they fixed the problem.the issue was a melted fusebox.
My car doesn't always go in reverse. The rem panel signal goes from 0-5 in minutes but feels like it's stalled. The engine light is always on. I read that there has been a recall because of a gear malfunction. And an extended warranty for cars up to 10years old or 100,000 miles. I fit into this category. This happens when i start the car and stop at a stop sign. I've taken my car to vw dealerships and private dealers and they can't seem to figure it out.
The check engine light coming on due to fail turbo undercharge valve, the valve has a rubber seals that is know leak or break. The manufactory has redesign the valve.the automobile will stallor not gain enough engine power.
The contact owns a 2010 volkswagen eos. While driving at approximately 50 mph, the contact noticed a rumbling noise and a speed warning light illuminated on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for a diagnostic test. The technician stated that a piece of metal under the hood became loose and was causing the noise. The failure continued after the removal of the metal. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer. The technicians replaced a part in the transmission, but the contact was not aware of which part was replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 11,000.updated 06/05/12the dealer stated the flywheel was defective.
I first notice this problem while on the highway at a speed of 65mph.the engine would stall out for a couple of seconds and then work just fine.the epc and service engine light would come on and off during these stall out periods. This would happen off and on for the next several months.sometimes when i started the car the lights would come on and sometimes they would not.finally in november2013 the lights stayed on all the time.i took it to be serviced and they said it was the emission sensor.i had the part 06h127025n put on the car and my troubles stopped.have not had any problem since.it cost me $453.55 to have it repaired.i applied for the recall but they stated it was not that part that was defective.well that part was defected because i had to have it replaced.
At 33882 miles, the rear main seal is leaking and the pcv valve will need to be replaced. Repair was identified during routine maintenance appointment at the dealer.
The contact owns a 2010 volkswagen eos. While attempting to turn on the engine, the key failed to start the vehicle. The vehicle had to be towed to the local mechanic who stated thatthe timing chain fractured and that there was no compression. The mechanic diagnosed that the timing chain, valves, and engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted. The approximate failure mileage was 61,000.
The car gear prnds flashes. The car doesnt do into gear. When put in reverse, the car stays in neutral. Very dangerous situations can arise in the highway sometimes the car fails. Needs to be restarted.
Timing chain/belt broke at 82,000 miles while on trip to indiana from tx. Told engine was destroyed, would have to be replaced.there was squeaking sound, i went to nearest mechanic shop.they checked it, said it was not belt, but in engine, it broke, then had to be towed to vw dealership in memphis, tn.there they told me i would have to replace engine.

As i was driving on the interstate my battery light and epc light came on and stated to service engine now.the car started to become jumpy and i immediately took it to the closest dealer.after running a diagnostic, they stated my fuel injector has a leak and is leaking into the exhaust system.i have googled this issue and have found that there was a recall but only for diesel engines for vw which my car is not.apparently this issue can cause the car to catch fire.

Driving down the road and multiple exterior lights started going out including headlights, brake lights, fog lights.lights continued to go in and out. Took car to vw dealership.it was found the fuse and fusebox were melted.other vw models have been recalled.the vw eos is not recalled due to the melting fuse box.the dealership said this is rare to happen.vw customer service will not cover any of the costs due to the fuse and fuse box melting.this is a safety concern.
I have been experiencing a sudden & complete loss of power while driving between 0-40 mph on numerous and continuing occasions (2010 vw eos lux).the problem started at about 60,000 miles, lasts about 4-5 seconds at a time, and occurs randomly.perhaps the most common speed during the occurrences is about 25 mph.because the vw dealership cannot replicate the problem, they refuse to take any action.i have complained about this dsg transmission during my entire ownership (original owner).i have always believed it was defective since it has always had an unreasonable and significant lack of acceleration or turbo lag (0-5 mph).i purchased the vehicle in oregon and now live in southern california.

Driving the car in traffic, the dsg transmission fluid is too hot.i got a whiff of burning transmission fluid accompanied by hot air.oil low pressure warning light is illuminated and the car needs to be pull over.vw dealership check the car and said the transmission is ok, but the dual-cluch is the problem.checking in the internet i found vw extended the warrantie in some 2007-2009 models.vw said my car is not under the extended warranty no matter is experienced the same issues.my car is less than 10 years and 100,000 miles but not under 65,000 milessome web sites mention the warranty was extended to some 2010 cars. What can i do.
My 2010 vw eos is very flawed.it will sometimes run perfectly and other times even right in heavy traffic the transmission will slip out of gear into neutral and won't re engage. Sometimes right in the middle of an intersection or just trying to pull out somewhere.extremely dangerous!!!!!
My 2010 vw eos continuously slips into neutral. Very dangerous trying to cross an intersection ormerge into moving traffic.i'm scared to drive it
2010 vw eos. Dsg transmission.<43,000 miles. Issue: intermittent - loss of motive power attempting to move from stationary position to reverse/drive and/or delayed power engagement (jerking). Loss of power when shifting into reverse from stationary position on common drive (slight incline) causes the car to roll forward presenting risk of collision (oncoming vehicle from opposing garage, pedestrian, infrastructure). Delayed engagement jerk in same situation presents risk of collision (passing vehicle (waiting for me to move, decides to pass, clutch engages and jerks car backwards), pedestrian, infrastructure). Parallel parking on major city street lost power in reverse and drive causing traffic backup and other vehicles to veer into oncoming traffic lane. Unpredictable delayed drive engagement when pulling into traffic on major city street. Dealer informed dsg clutch pack requires replacement. Located tsb dated 2/6/14 (tb-30-14-01/vw 2028783). Car in for complete servicing 8/7/14. Interactive inspection performed. No indication of potential issue or need for any related maintenance. View as a consumer - negligent conduct given the potential ramifications of dsg failure. Fault should require more than a tsb as loss of vehicle control poses meaningful risk of injury.
The contact owns a 2010 volkswagen eos. While the vehicle was stationary and while driving various speeds, the transmission failed. The contact stated that the vehicle began sputtering and the rpms increased rapidly. In addition, the vehicle would not engage in the reverse position when prompted. The contact pulled the vehicle over to the side of the road and turned off the engine. The contact restarted the vehicle and was able to drive home on most occasions. The contact stated that the failure was intermittent. Hanover volkswagen (1850 carlisle street, hanover, pennsylvania 17331, (717) 797-4721) was made aware of the failure and diagnosed that the transmission was faulty and needed to be replaced based on diagnostic trouble code: p27-11. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that there was no part available for the repair. The contact referenced tsb number: 30-14-03 from august of 2014 as a potential cause of the failure. The failure mileage was 79,000.
The car initially experienced hard shifting since the first week we purchased it.the dealer found no faults. The car eventually had a loss of power while driving due to a faulty mechatronics unit.during the failure mode, the car engine lost all power which resulted in a loss of speed and inability to accelerate.the failures happened while driving.previous vw eos model years had a recall for this unit.
For at least the last year the car has been "jerking" and/or "not taking off" when i step on the accelerator (when accelerating from a stand still or if pressing on the pedal when in motion).i have told the auto dealer more than once and was told they checked it and it was fine. So, the last time i took it in (the car only has 39,000 miles on it) i insisted that someone from the dealership take a ride with me as the problem still existed.the tech advisor did and admitted there is definitely a problem.i was 1st told it was a mechatronis coding error having to do with the dsg.now i have been told it is a clutch pak and that is not covered under warranty. I spoke to vwoa and they said some of the vehicles had been granted dsg warranty extensions however, mine was not one of them because my vin didn't show in their records. Since i clearly have the problem of the non-acceleration and the jerking; it should have been.
Dsg gearbox transmission fails at 88,000 miles. After driving the car in traffic (many stops/starts) the transmissions jerks between shifts, and emits a loud 'clunk' when shifting.
Vehicle stalls when attempting to take off vehicle nearly dies when coming to a stop. Was told by dealer the transmission needs replaced.from what i have read the early version of this transmission has been highly problematic. I have contacted volkswagen america and they informed me that there was no kind of recall for this car related to the transmission. I have however read of many other customers that have had problems with this transmission. From what i have read volkswagen has given a goodwill extended warranty on these transmissions, however they say ours is not part of this even though our car was built in early november 2009. Our car is a 2010 and has most all the symptoms the 2008 and 2009 have/had that i have read about. In my personal opinion and being a mechanic working for a nationally known tractor dealer myself i feel more should be done by volkswagen, even if they are pressured to do so.i feel our car specifically is a bit dangerous and i fear it will only become worse with time.
Dsg gearbox transmission fails under 100,000 miles. After driving the car in traffic (many stops/starts) the transmissions jerks between shifts, and emits a loud 'clunk' when shifting.
The contact owns a 2010 volkswagen eos. While the vehicle was in reverse or drive, it failed to move forward or shift into neutral. When the contact powered off and restarted the engine, the vehicle resumed normal operation. In addition, the check engine warning indicator remained illuminated and the brake warning indicator intermittently illuminated. Also, while depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle failed to accelerate. The vehicle was taken to audi buffalo (5255 gneiss st, , ny 14026, (888) 420-1357) where it was diagnosed that the gear box needed to be replaced. The vehicle was also taken to an independent mechanic who made the same diagnosis. The vehicle was not repaired due to the repair fees. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 99,661.

After driving my carof and on for about two hours,i was leaving from afriend's driveway and realized my car would not go into reverse.i had to put the car in neutral and push the car out of the driveway.this way very humitating.after speaking to a volkswagen dealership, they advised me that this has been an ongoing issue for sometime.well i'm sorry volkswagen i don't have money to waste, especially when they know that this has been a serious problem.i have children that i have to transport back and forth and at this point i dont feel that my volkswagen is a reliable car. Please tell me there is a recall in place for this problem.
Attempted to back into a parking space but would not go into reverse. Have been advised a code p2711 appears. Research indicates ongoing issue with this and other vw models. My 2010 is not covered b/c of a four month production date not included in the recall.
The contact owns a 2010 volkswagen eos. The contact stated that while driving at 25 mph, the vehicle emitted a loud sound and shifted into neutral independently. The contact depressed the accelerator pedal, and the rpm increased however, the vehicle failed to respond. The contact shifted from low gear back to drive several times and the vehicle responded and operated as designed. The contact drove safely back to the residence. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer nor an independent mechanic to be diagnosed or repaired. The vehicle was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 09v333000 (power train). The approximate failure mileage was 10,209.
2010 vw eos - with less than 5000 miles, car would lurch when starting after coming to a stop. This is repeated continually. Service people advised mechatronics unit needs to be replaced and part would take at least two weeks. From forums, it appears that this is a problem with many owners of vw and should be acknowledged by the company and a fix made to all units.
The contact owns a 2010 volkswagen eos. When the vehicle was started, the anti lock brake system and the traction control system warning indicators began flashing. The vehicle was driven to its destination, but the warning indicators remained illuminated. The dealer and manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 63,000.
The contact owns a 2010 volkswagen eos.the contact stated that while starting the vehicle, the anti brake system warning indicator light illuminated.in addition, there was an abnormal beeping noise detected.the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where they advised to contact the local dealer. The vehicle was then taken tovolkswagen of naples (601 airport road south, naples, fl 34104(239) 302-3287) where it was diagnosed that theabs control module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted who referred the contactto nhtsa. The failure mileage was 44,466. The contact stated the failure was similar to nhtsa campaign number: 16v913000(service brakes, hydraulic, electronic stability control).
When the abs, brake and other lights came on, the car was in motion. It was after applying the brakes where i skid and the lights came on. I live in an area with snow and my abs has not worked since the light came on, making driving very unsafe. I'm aware previous models of my car have had issues with defective or failed abs systems/anti-skid/braking systems which raises concern for my model year.
Esp/abs error. Lights on. I almost crashed into someone's car due to my abs brakes failing on me. I was on the highway driving approximately 75 miles per hour. Came up on a traffic jam at a stand still. Scariest moment of my life. Though i was going to die. This needs to be addressed immediately.
The contact owns a 2010 volkswagen eos. The contact stated that the abs warning indicator illuminated on and off. Suncoast porsche (5005 s tamiami trail, sarasota, fl 34231, (941) 923-1700) stated that the vehicle was not included in a recall in order to replace the abs. The manufacturer was contacted and reiterated what the dealer stated. The contact requested that the manufacturer allow the dealer to make the software modifications (firmware update), which would make it easier to diagnose the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. Abs control module is displaying fault code 01130; this is a recall on certain vw and audi's manufactured in 2009 thru 2014.car is skidding on wet road as this affects traction control, too.has vw considered a broader recall of the abs module.
Sept 20515 - safety recall 69l2 - steering wheel clock spring, replaced 2016 - went out again 9-20, 5 years later. Vw denied replacement as it is not considered a safety issue and the airbag light doesn't stay on.the horn, doesn't work, or other control on steering column.steering wheel started squeaking in aug. 2020. It stared as i was driving, had to use horn to stop someone from backing into me and it didn't work, thought i perhaps didn't press horn hard enough, not the case, it happened again. Also, cruise control, radio, etc. Anything controlled by steering wheel do not work. I need to pay for repairs.also the "ambient temp sensor" stopped working, replaced i had to pay.

In 2015, there was a recall for the clock spring.a repair was made, not a replacement when the vehicle had approximately 30,000 miles on it.in sept. 2018 at approximately 56,000 miles, the airbag light came on and all steering wheel controls were lost including the horn.vw is refusing to cover the repair under the recall because of the cover that was initially installed in 2015.it is obvious that the cover did not fix the issue and the clock springs are faulty and extremely dangerous as they airbag and horn do not work when they fail.if they had replaced the clock spring in 2015, i would understand a second one not being covered.however, they did not replace it, they placed a cover over it.their refusal to address the recall properly and replace the part is unacceptable.i have the clock spring, i demanded it when i was forced to pay for a replacement that cost over $700.00.
