Failure of air bag system.repeated air bag failure warning light due to defective collision sensor and defective wiring connector at the sensor units.
Air bag light came on and will not turn off. 1218 code regarding passenger side airbag igniter. Don't feel safe driving with my kids sitting i the front seat with this safety light on.
I brought a volkswagen eos 2007 and was not aware of the airbag light being default light came on when i hit a speedbump. Took to volkswagen dealership and i was i had pay to get fixed i didnot feel that was my responsibility because it is a safety issue that they should have corrected or recall. I was on my way to work that morning and i total my car and i was told that i was driving on wrong side of the road and everything donot remember nothing. I had chest pain for over a month. I contacted volkswagen and they send a engineer to look at the car but the engineer never contacted me as to how the accident happen. I read his report he lie saying it was a weak battery as i said took to volkswagen dealership and that was not the problem. I also talk to a mechanic that work on cars stated that if the airbag light is on the airbag should not have deployed but it did. This is my first time purchasing a volkswagen and i paid cash for 20,000 and i am out of my money. They treated me like i was stupid and very rude i was told that there was one else in the company i could talk to. This is a safety issue that needs to be address.
-air bag - repeated sensor failure, which are disabling the air safety system.- failure of the red led dash display (the red display boards have a history of failure due to 4 defective solder on the circuit board) which makes the operator unaware that doors are not closed and latched, so that the doors open without warning with the vehicle in motion.also, loss of verification of shift location ( is the vehicle in park-drive-reverse) which can cause the car to move without warning.
My airbag warning light is on.i have had no accidents and airbags have never been used.dealer says i need an airbag inflator. They cannot or will not tell me if this is a takata inflator.i need to know before i spend $849.00 to replace the inflator.i have been driving with no airbags for a year and it is dangerous.help please!
My car has had issue with airbag lights coming on i just purchase this car 12/31/2012 paid cash for it.this is on their website. I was driving on dec 28,2013 on my way to work when i crashed my car. I donot remember the accident at all because i was knock out. I was told that i was driving on the wrong side of the rode. My airbag light came on when i hit a speed bump. Took it to a volkswagen dealership and was told i would need to pay to get it fixed. This is a safety issue an they going to tell me it is my fault which i think is a lie. I really need you guys to bend your engineer to check out the black box.i am best to be alive my children and grandchildren could have been without a me but i had a angel looking over me. The contact owns a 2007 volkswagen eos. The contact stated the air bag warning light remained illuminated after start-up. The contact was concerned for her safety and had the vehicle taken to car pros vw of san bernardino dealer, (1600 s, cam real, san bernardino, ca 92408) to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the driver front air bag igniter and crash sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired due to the repair cost. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and provided a case number. The failure mileage was approximately 166,000.
My air bag lite is on, when i took it to the dealer, they wanted me to pay for a air bag replacement which is over $1000.i asked if there was a recall since i knew of others having the same problem, and was told none that they knew of, so i stated i would wait for one (recall), since i didn't have the funds. They didn't seem to concern, with this being a safety issue. The other person who had the same identical problem choose to borrow the money for her repair.i am a senior citizen on a fixed income.as a safety issue this needs to be addressed.also she stated she knew someone with the same problem, it apparantly must be a problem, so far from a short conversation with one person that was three cars with the same issue, that i know of, it must be others??
My airbag light came on.the fault was the passenger seat belt buckle stopped working and it was replaced for $361.98.the part is light in weight and flimsy, unlike the original and the one on the drivers side.now my airbag light is on again.now i am told i need to replace the passenger airbag because the inflator is not working.estimate is $849.i have an extended warranty which does not cover.is this inflator a takata make in my car?why can't the inflator be replaced instead of the whole airbag?i am driving without any airbags, because when one has a problem, they all stop functioning.the car is unsafe!
Took vehicle in today to tracy volkswagen in tracy california to fix my airbag light that came on for passenger side seat airbag. They said there were unable to repair the issue cause volkswagen discontinued the part. So they said to me that ecs tuning has the part available and they could install it for $537 extra. I thought the airbag system was suppose to be free of errors for the lifetime of the vehicle so why do i put myself and occupants in danger driving with a malfunctioning manufacture part? i hope there is some remedy for this and i am not paying almost another $1000 for this light to be turned off. Hope volkswagen gets their act together and mind their customers safety of their vehicles. This is unbelievable! hope this gets to volkswagen and nhtsa does something about this!

I have twin daughters that were 17 yrs. Last yr. I am a single mom. I bought this car off a craigslist ad. When my daughter & i went & looked at it i looked to see if it had ever been wrecked it had no report of that. The person that sold it to me said the convertible didn't go down because he didn't have the key, i had no idea that it had 33 complaints filed on it, and it would be leaking water filling the floor boards 2-3"every time it stormed. I also didn't know that the person that bought it brand new was hit by a ice truck who rolled over the top over it, nor did i know that the next person that bought the car had the convertible top blow off on the freeway going 60 mph down the road so her mechanic justglued it closed, nor did i the person i bought it from said it had one owner and it ran really great, i expressed i had to buy two cars & couldn't afford to buy junk orsomething unreliable, now my daughter is ready to go out of state to college & we can't even sell the carbecause of all of the complaints filed against the car. We can't afford to get it fixed and had never been sold to us as adecent running car as is. This car is literally falls beyond the lemon law it is dangerous, and i feel we have been taken advantage of in this situation. I don't know what to do about it. But i am in no position to finance another car for my daughter, this vehicle should be taken out of commission
Power windows do not operate in sub-freezing temperatures.with no ice or froston windows they just do not want to move in very cold temperatures, 30 degrees f and below.notified dealer, their response was to reset the window controller which gets the window working until the next sub freezing temperature event.no attempt was made to determine the cause of the failure.because the windows need to move to open the door in this car and a trip to the dealer is required to get the windows working again this could be a potential safety concern.

Vehicle stopped in the middle of the road. At first thought, we thought it might be an alternator failure but mechanic says there is no compression in the engine and the vehicle has total engine failure needing a complete replacement. 110,000 miles.
The car stopped working in the middle of the road. Mechanic tells me timing chain bad and needs new motor. Only has 61,ooo miles.
Traveling down the road at 60mph, the engine suddenly lost power and the tachometer redlined before it dropped into first gear. The epc light came on.my wife was driving. I got in and the light was out, so i drove for five minutes and the light came on and i lost power on the highway at 65mph -- same issue with tach. I pulled over to the side of the road and took it to the nearest mechanic shop.it is still at the shop as they are trying to troubleshoot.noticed that vw put out a tech bulletin in 2009 (15 09 03 dec. 16, 2009 2015153 supersedes t. B. Group 15 number 09-02 dated november 10, 2009 to revisetechnical diagnosis code in warranty table.) but did not issue a recall.seriously, this is a major safety issue as the truck behind me swerved to miss me.searching the internet, it seems that there are numerous complaints regarding this, but no recall to fix this.help!!!
2007 eos purchased april 2010. First eos convertible top will not close properly. Warning system engaged took it in for a trunk latch replacement. Still not close 2 out of 10 times. Dealer replaced with another 2007 eos since 1st one also had oil comsumption of 2.5qts in 1,000 miles. Second eos top won't close properly this time hydraulic rams replaced under warranty. Oil consumption 3/4 qt in 2,500 miles.
I was driving out of my driveway, going about 10 mph, for less than 100 yards and the red warning lights came on indicating "engine failure", "do not drive the vehicle"!i drove home and turned off the ignition and called vw dealer to have the vehicle towed.
The contact owns 2007 volkswagen eos. The contact started the vehicle and the low oil light was illuminated.the steering wheel was also extremely tight and difficult to turn. The vehicle was restarted after one hour. The warning light was no longer illuminated and the steering wheel resumed normal operation. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer and was told that they were unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was left with the dealer where the contact was awaiting further inspection. The vin was not available. The failure and current mileage was 38,000.

The contact owns a 2007 volkswagen eos. The contact stated while driving 15 mph, the vehicle made a loud sound and white smoke emerged from the exhaust pipe. The contact stated while pulling over to the side of the road, the vehicle stalled. The contact stated she waited 30 minutes to restart the vehicle and drove the vehicle home. The contact stated that the check engine warning light was illuminated and the white smoke coming from the exhaust recurred. The contact stated she took her vehicle to an independent mechanic who diagnosed the failure as a faulty turbo unit. I was on the highway after my car had been sitting all day for work after about 20 miles of driving at about 65-70 mph the car suddenly shifted out of gear and red lined for a few seconds until i realized i had the cruise set. Once i got that turned off the car then shifted back into first gear automatically and jerked horribly trying to slow itself down. So thankful truckers where not behind me! i shifted the car into neutral and got it to the side of the road. After a very costly transport back to the dealer due to me working out of town the service team informed me the mechatronic unit was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle is an 2007 with the 2.0t and 96,000 miles on the odo. Vw now claims this model isn't under any extended warranty and that my claim would be denied. Now i am forced to figure out a $2,500 repair.
The vehicle slips out of gear without warning. Has automatic transmission. Engine dash light and anti-swerve slights come on but engine continues to run and rev. Turning off car and restarting will usually restore operation until next episode. The dealer checked all wiring and replaced selector lever module for $1901 but the problem persists.dealer has had car for an additional week and is stumped. Now waiting for technical advice from vw. As is the vehicle can not be operated safely on the streets or especially the highway due to sudden loss of propulsion.
Vw eos with 22000 miles; dsgtransmission operates erratically; when accelerating from a stop car initially accelerates then slows, as if in neutral gear, then bangs into gear and accelerates. Erratic and violent downshifts have also been experienced causing occupants to be restrained excessively by the seat belts. Difficult to demonstrate this behavior consistently. Dealer initially described actions as: "normal for dsg transmission". Repeated complaints to dealer led to transmission components being replaced. This resulted in some improvement but erratic shifting continues.
2007 volkswagen eos with automatic dsg transmission. .had just exited a freeway and come to a stop at a traffic light.when i tried to accelerate when light tuned green, car would not shift into higher gears so could only go about 20-30 mph.pulled into parking lot, parked, and shut off engine.upon restart, could not get car into reverse.had to have towed to dealership.vw service representative explained that transmission went into "limp" mode.also said i was fortunate it didn't happen while on the freeway.no diagnosis as to what cause is as of yet.

The contact owns a 2007 volkswagen eos. The contact stated the vehicle would sporadically stall. When the failure would occur, the warning lights would intermittently illuminate on the instrument panel. The contact was able to restart the vehicle but it would not accelerate. The vehicle was towed to an authorized dealer where the contact was awaiting a diagnosis of the failure. The contact inquired with the manufacturer in regards to nhtsa campaign id number: 09v333000 (power train: automatic transmission) but was advised by the manufacturer that his year vehicle was not included with the particular recall. The current and failure mileages were approximately 73,000.

My 2007 volkswagen eos has right passengerseatbelt failure at 2000 miles. Vin number [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).
Unlike other vw models, there is no way to buckle driver side seat belt without a twist in the seat belt. I took the car to the dealership to be fixed. They could not fix it . They contacted vw and we were told it is the way it was engineered. We compared it with another eos, which had the same problem.we then compared it to a passat, which did not have this problem. In addition to being uncomfortable, i fear that it will decrease the effectiveness of the seat belt. I also think with the discomfort, people may not wear it.
Abs warning light came on. The abs unit was found to have failed and required replacement.

By just pushing with my thumb finger on the body of my car i was able to do small dings. Thebody metal has no resistance and no "memory" . When i push a little on the metal ,the metal stay and does not take backis initial position. The sheet metal body is way too thin. Are there any regulation about the metal thickness?
I bought a used volkswagen eos on 08/31/2011. Its a convertible, few days after that it rained and the car was leaking from the joint where the hood attaches to the windscreen. The whole car was flooded with water, i had to drain the water out and take the car to the dealer where i bought the car from on 09/09/2011. They said to bring the car back again 09/13/2011. I called them before going to the dealership and said they will call me, i kept calling and finally on 09/19/2011 i dropped the car at the dealership. When i picked the car back, the manager said they have fixed the car, i had the sales person number i called him from the dealership and he said they were not able to fixed the problem and i have to take it to the manufacturer. I will not even a week that i had started facing problems with the car and at the time i bought the car they said they have the inspection done and everything is fine there is no problems with the car. I would like to know if there was any recalls done on this model and if its manufacturers liability to fix the problems.
My sun roof shattered while driving on interstate. Glass broke and it sounded like an explosion and a gunshots, then i heard loud wind noise coming from sunroof. Nothing hit my car. It just exploded out of no where.
I bought a brand new volkswagen eos 2007 on december 26, 2006 from atlantic volkswagen in pleasantville, new jersey. On may 25, 2006, i was sitting at a corner waiting to turn left. A large ice truck came around the corner too fast and tipped on two wheels and fell onto my vehicle while i was inside. The ice truck's insurance company sent an adjuster out to assess the damages. The insurance company decided to have the damages fixed instead of totaling the vehicle on the spot. Since then, the vehicle has been in the auto repair shop and it is now october 15, 2007. The auto repair shop owner has reported to me that the reason why the vehicle cannot be repaired yet is because volkswagen has not made parts for this particular model (eos) yet and they are not available. When calling atlantic volkswagen in pleasantville, new jersey, they refused to talk to me or help me with these issues. They said for me to take my business else where. What i am upset and frustrated about is the fact that volkswagen has put a model out for consumers to buy but has not taken the responsibility to supply the parts for their products. Plus, i am still paying heavy car payments for a car i do not have or am driving and paying for insurance as well. How can you help? nothing has been done to correct the situation yet.
After numerous repair attempts, the hard-top convertible continues to leak. This has resulted in pooling of water on the floor boards whenever it rains. The only place the car leaks is at the point where the hard-top meets the body of the car. There have also been multiple issues where the trunk does not latch properly when the top is closed. Although the car is able to be driven, the trunk is unable to open unless the hard-top is "down" or retracted into the trunk.

Car was parked during incident.found back glass completely shattered.it appears to have spontaneously exploded as the trim was approximately 1 ft away from the car and any loose glass was on the outside of the car only.there was no indication of any impact or vandalism.contacted vw service dept who states they have never heard of anything like this happening and indicated no recalls or service bulletins.when looking online there was in fact several reports of vw spontaneous exploded rear glass and even more reports of exploding sun roofs. Thankful i was not driving at the time however, because if is not attributed to a reported vw problem, costing me $750 to get repaired.

Tire size 235-40-18 - original equipment low profile wheel tire size exhibits numerous blow outs in road hazards such as pot holes and causes extremely dangerous driving conditions. I have blown 6 tires in 2 years costing over $3000.00 plus in repairs not to mention the dangerous traffic safety conditions created by a blown tire at highway speed.it is a miracle i was not killed .i believe low profile tires in general are dangerous and should be outlawed below (245 profile at least). I request that the problem be investigated and data collected, analyzed and corrective action taken as - i see this is a very common safety complaint. With literally thousands of blog stories of harrowing blow out events similar to mine on the internet.thank you.
