While riding my triumph bonneville t100, my left foot peg broke as i stood on it to give myself support crossing over a rail road track. After further inspection, the bolt holding the peg to the bike was cut clean off. While looking for further information on this through the internet, it seems as though it is a common problem that happens as there are at least 5-10 other noted cases on the following forum: http://www.triumphrat.net.

Last august (2008) and again this july (2009), the same spoke has broken on my 2006 triumph bonneville.the first time, the spoke punctured the tube causing the tire to go flat while riding.luckily i was in a parking lot when this happened.the bike had approximately 9000 miles on it at the time.the second spoke failure happened without causing the tire to go flat.this happened sometime on a couple hundred mile trip.before leaving i had checked the air in the tire and cleaned the bike including the rear wheel and did not notice a broken spoke.this time the bike had approximately 13000 miles on it.both spokes broke at the hub end where the spoke bends.this was a rear left-hand outer spoke.the spoke will be replaced with another triumph replacement spoke for the second time.neither of the old spokes are available.
