The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.
Takata recall. I was issued a recall that has yet to be remedied that may result in serious injury or death to myself or a passenger in my car. How am i supposed to drive in a dangerous vehicle that i depend on to get to work every day? i think it is extremely necessary to at least provide a timeline for the remedy, or at the very least allow all owners at serious risk to use rental cars at no cost from toyota.

Your website, recalls by vin# states, drivers air bag may not deploy. I have brought the car to the toyota dealer and they do not recognize this recall.please advise.
Takata recall. On january 12,2018 i was involved in an accident. A vehicle cut me off and i hydroplaned when braking. There were massive storms occurring.my concern is that my airbags never deployed.i slammed very hard into the median resulting in some lingering back soreness and truthfully a fear of driving in the rain. I received a mailer last week notifying me that this vehicle is now part of an airbag recall.seen by the photos below, there is no reason why these airbags did not deploy. Something was not right here.
I braked to avoid hitting an animal which emerged from the ditch.the car fishtailed, lost control and flipped once landing on it's top.the driver's side was damaged and the insurance company totaled the car.i did hit my head against the driver's side window, but the blow was not severe.my concern is that the side airbag did not deploy.the anti-lock brakes did not work either and have only worked intermittently for quite some time.
Takata recall. Crashed my yaris going approx. 30 mph. I broke a bone in my arm when it hit the steering wheel. The airbag didn't deploy and i was rushed to the hospital by ambulance
"takata recall" notice was sent. When i tried to contact a dealership there was no local dealership on hawaii to correct the issue. I would like this issue fixed due to the "takata recall" but not have to send my vehicle to the continental us due to this issue not being my fault.

Our one-car family has been very burdened by this recall for many months because the current "solution" is to not have anyone sitting in the passenger seat. This is already a small car and we have lost one seat due to this issue. If toyota cannot come up with a solution in a reasonable time frame, they should compensate owners of this car for loss of front seat passenger use.
Takata recall. The contact owns a 2009 toyota yaris. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign numbers: 14v169000 (seats), 14v168000 and 16v340000 (air bags), and 15v689000 (visibility). I was involved in a head on collision into a utility pole on a two lane roadway. I was found unconscious in my car. I have no recollection of the collision itself but no other car was found to be involved. The drivers side of the vehicle experienced the most damage. I had my seats belt on but not a single airbag in the entire vehicle deployed, despite the disabling damage that occurred to the vehicle. I have reached out to toyota multiple times since the incident occurred yet about the concern of no airbags deploying yet was never notified that this was even an option to report the failure of the airbag to deploy in an accident, especially where the head on collision totaled the car. The pictures of the incident attached to this report were obtained by my father in the days following the accident and include the road of the accident and the car. The steering wheel is visibly deformed from the impact my body had on it during the crash. I fractured the c2 segment in my neck and to this day still suffer from complications from the concussion and injuries of this crash on a daily basis. I have been through neurologically testing and therapies related to the injuries. These injuries have impacted my life greatly and i feel as though my concern is being disregarded by toyota. I strongly feel as though my injuries would not have been nearly as severe if the airbag deployed and i would really appreciate it if you could look into the case. I do have additional information and pictures if needed.
I've had several recall notices mailed to me regarding airbag recall.i've called the toyota dealer several times asking when i could get in to get it fixed.always some excuse about parts are on the way and "i'm on the waiting list", whatever that means.please advise.thank you.

This recall has been in effect for more than two years with no remedy provided. I also am concerned about takata airbags that may be in my vehicle, but i don't see a recall notice (although i regularly receive mail about potential takata airbag recalls).the power window master switch in the involved vehicles may have been manufactured with insufficient lubricant grease.recall statusrecall incompleteremedytoyota is currently preparing the remedy for this condition. Once remedy preparations are complete, toyota will send an owner notification letter by first class mail to owners of vehicles covered by this safety recall. Additional details on the remedy will be provided in future communications.safety risk descrpitionif sufficient grease is not applied, under certain conditions the switch may develop a short circuit that can cause the switch assembly to overheat and melt. A melting switch can produce smoke and potentially lead to a fire.
(takata recall) this recall has been open for more than two months now and it is very serious. The remedy is not available yet. I have visited my local dealer in long beach, california and they told me toyota did not provide the parts yet. What are they waiting for? i cannot have my family in the passenger seat knowing it is dangerous to even sit there!

The airbag on the passenger side of our 2008 toyota yaris sedan is not functioning properly.the lsrs warning light has come on eight different times.we only have paperwork for six of the incidents. When we bring the car in for service, they just reset the light (turn it off) and they have asked us not to push the seat back, but to keep it in the mid range of the rail, not to recline the seat in the back position, but to decline the seat forward while a person is riding in the passenger seat.we were told by the technician that we should never let a child or small person ride in the front seat.we were also told that this condition could cause the airbag to go off while driving.they have never taken the vehicle apart to see what the problem actually is.they only shut the warning light off.people are afraid to ride in this vehicle.the dealership has now refused to honor their warranty on the airbags in this vehicle.they blamed a panel at the nh department of safety for breaking the vehicle when they caused the light to appear again after they test drove the vehicle.they had previously disengaged the warning light, so the panel did not find a defect'subsequently, they found for toyota.the light reappeared minutes after the car was restarted after their drive in it.we requested that they would hearthe case, the panel at the arbitration dept at the nh department of safety refused.we will now be charged for every time this vehicle has to have this warning light reset as well as driving a car that their :special" technician admitted they had no idea why this was happening.

The manufacturer's investigation concluded that the air bags failed to deploy due to the low impact of the crash. The vehicle was repaired. The front frame was replaced and the rear bumper was restored. The failure mileage was 43,765. The approximate current mileage was 44,000.
I am located in strassen, luxembourg (europe) and take my car to the toyota dealership (toyota, 6 zai bourmicht, l8070 bertrange) here for service.i am returning to the united states december 2020 and require all recall issues to be address prior to exit inspection.upon request to the luxembourg toyota to address the recall issue on the front passenger airbag inflator, representatives stated they are not obliged to correct this issue nor not provide documentation regarding inability to address the issue.this is a request for assistance in the form of an official written report.
I have not received a notification from the dealership that the remedy is available as described in the nhtsa recall no. 16v-340 mailing that was received several months ago.i live in zone a and my vehicle is already (7) years plus years old. I have not allowed anyoneto use the front passenger seat as recommended which is very inconvenient for people with arthritis and back issues.how long will it be to remedy this recall?i don't even feel safe driving this vehicle but it is the only one i have to use. Please help.sincerely, [xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

Initially the dealer did not have the recall item(s) in stock. Eventually the dealer received partial parts and other part was backordered.finally, i was told the parts were in to bring my vehicle in for the recall work. The work was completed, however, as soon as i returned home the airbag panel on the driver side detached from the area covering the airbag assembly.i took the vehicle back to the dealer immediately and they attempted to connect the panel.i have taken the vehicle back to them on two occasions for the same issue and each time they have attempted to push the panel back in place.the panel is now hanging again exposing the airbag assembly on the driver's side.i'm afraid the airbag may deploy with the parts being exposed.i think the dealer broke something that keeps the panel in place and is not doing what really needs to be done to assure my safety...i don't know what else to do about this other than contacting you guys and perhaps the toyota zone office.what is your suggestion?i have been pushing it back in place often myself since that time and now it just will not stay in place.

When i asked what i am supposed to do about driving my family around in my vehicle the representative said that toyota only "recommends" you don't drive passengers.is this seriously how toyota will deal with their customers? my car should be completely recalled with these sort of issues. Vehicle veered off road to right hitting street sign. Continued down embankment rolling over approximately four times. None of the air bags in the car ejected. The vehicle sustained frontal crash, side crash and roll over. I feel this vehicle safety is misrepresented and very dangerous.

Going westbound on port saint lucie blvd, fl 34953, a white truck with a six to eight foot trailer made a turn from eastbound to westbound, cutting my 2009 toyota yaris off, because of the close proximity i was not able to stop traveling the speed limit, therefore, having a frontal crash which none of my four airbags deployed. I was taking to the saint lucie hospital to check for injuries, which i have whiplash, and contusion of my lower limb, and bruises where my seat belt was.

Toyota yaris, 2009, sedan, 4dr, 7 months of use, strong bad odor problems with the air conditioner unit, took the car to the dealer and they performed a replacement of the air filters, the dealer informed me that it was fixed but before i reached my house the problem was there again. Took the car to the dealer again and this time the service representative informed me that all the toyota yaris 2009 have the same bad odor problem in the air conditioner unit, and that it was a manufacturer defect. I asked for a fix to this problem but the answer i received from the dealer service representative was that they are still collecting complaints and information to request a recall or fix from the toyota company, which can take an indefinite amount of time. Meanwhile i am stock with the problem and no other options available to fix it.
I have owned my car for two years now, and have had a problemwith the airconditioner leaking inside my car, since i got it.it makes a horrible noise with any left hand turn, my carpet is ruined, moldy and im confident im breathing in mold spores and who knows what else.i took my car into the dealership, they kept it for three weeks, refused to replace my carpet.they did make it stop leaking, most likely by clearing the drain line out, that lasted for a few weeks.then the problem returned.
I rented a late model (i believe 2009) silver toyota yaris in august 2009 from alamo at the orlando fl airport (mco) location for a 2000 mile trip.i don't know the vin.this was just before the widely reported problems with the floor mats on toyotas.i had that exact problem and had to keep pulling it back, often while driving at 70 mph.i'm an engineer and do all my own mechanical work on my own cars, so there's no mistake about this.i tried to re-attach the mat at a rest stop.it was easy to see that the mats would easily come loose as they shift around by normal movements of one's feet; and they did again.these were clearly stock mats because they were perfectly aligned to the insufficient hooks.also, they were not stacked on other mats.just normal stock mats with poorly designed attachments. I noticed that toyota did not recall the yaris, which is why i'm making sure to file this complaint.i suppose they'll wait until more people die first; likely kids in yarises.
The contact owns a 2009 toyota yaris. The day running lights on the vehicle are extremely bright. When driving at night, it appears that your standard head lights are lit; instead, the day runnings lights remain illuminated. When this occurs, the standard head lights and the rear lights are in the off position which nearly resulted in several collisions. The dealer inspected the vehicle and confirmed that the front head lights are extremely bright and there were no after market products available per the manufacturer to correct the failure. The contact will also speak with the manufacturer. The failure mileage was 179 and the current mileage was 1000.
I was behind another vehicle on a ramp leading from one roadway to another and now realize that i had experienced unintended acceleration as i was slowly following the vehicle in front of me on this uphill ramp and my vehicle lunged forward striking the other vehicle. This vehicle was a loaner from galaxy toyota, eatontown,nj., a 2009 yaris. It was towed back to toyota.
The toyota yaris has a drive-by-wire system that results in a delayed response of about two to three seconds when the accelerator pedal is applied.i have a 2009 model, but have been informed by a friend who has a 2011 yaris that the same issue is present.the delayed accelerator response is not only unnerving, it is dangerous in a parking situation.i called toyota corporate customer relations, who referred me to a dealer.i spoke to two service managers in portland, or who both indicated this problem can only be repared with a software patch, which is not available.

The toyota yaris 2009 i purchased had a recall already never claimed since owning with loan failures of the mechical tires along with computer problems and more
I'm writing about two design flaws that led to an unfortunate incident, and which could have had caused even more serious results. I believe the primary cause for this incident is a poorly designed interior trunk safety latch, and the dashboard display design is a contributing factor.i was driving on the highway, 35 miles into my trip. As i changed lanes, my trunk popped open (it had been latched) and my laptop in its computer case jettisoned out of the trunk and flew across the interstate, causing vehicles behind me to swerve. My mechanic upon inspecting the trunk observed the interior trunk release is designed such that it 1. Dangles freely in the trunk so could easily get caught on something that shifted in the trunk, and 2. Releases with almost no pull needed. What likely happened is that the strap of the computer bag caught on and pulled the interior trunk release when i changed lanes. Although this resulted in significant financial damage to me and breach of computer security, it could have caused an accident to cars behind me.had the driver behind me not honked his horn and motioned me to pull over, i would not have been aware of what happened for quite some time. The trunk of the yaris doesn't open wide enough to catch my eye in the rear view mirror, and i did not see the door ajar light come on: the dashboard display on the yaris, centered rather than in front of the driver, makes seeing the signals on the dash during daytime driving very hard. Add to that, the door ajar signal, far to the left, is obscured by the rim around the display. In other words, you'd have to lean to the right to notice that a door, or in this case the trunk, just popped open. The placement of the dashboard panel is not great in terms of safety.thank you for providing an opportunity for me to report these concerns with the yaris design.

My 2009 yaris )manual transmission) sedan stalls randomly when i move from low to second gear, but i have noticed an increase with the onset of warmer weather. I bought the car in early may, 2009. I wrote to toyota to complain about the problem and shortly received a call from the dealer, middletown toyota, to arrange a visit to evaluate the problem. The head of the repair department and i took a long ride during which both of us drove, and there were no stalling incidents. The man told me the engine/transmission was computer driven and ambient temperature and humidity were factors in the performance of the car. There was nothing he could do to change the situation, he said. Yesterday march 17, 2010, i had the car out in 60-degree weather and it stalled 7-8 times, always when i needed to accelerate from a stop. It is scary when it happens. So far the engine re-ignites, but i wonder when the day will come when it stalls at an intersection and an accident occurs. I am writing because i feel this might be happening to other yaris owners.
The toyota yaris 2009 i purchased had a recall already never claimed since owning with loan failures of the mechical tires along with computer problems and more
"takata recall" notice was sent. When i tried to contact a dealership there was no local dealership on hawaii to correct the issue. I would like this issue fixed due to the "takata recall" but not have to send my vehicle to the continental us due to this issue not being my fault.
We are a small nonprofit that receives car donations and refurbishes them for low income individuals and families. We received this 2009 toyota yaris as a donation with about 173k miles on it. When we received it we noticed that the driver's seat seatback was torn in two vertical spots. We thought this to be the result of the previous owner being overweight. Upon closer inspection we found that the two steel vertical supports for the seatback were razor sharp and were cutting their way through the foam of the seat and the fabric. If all of the yaris seats are built this way this would be a significant safety issue in several types of collisions. In normal use a driver would have no idea what is in the seatback waiting to be force through in a collision.
The contact owns a 2009 toyota yaris. The contact stated that the drivers side seat failed to adjust properly. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact received notification for nhtsa campaign number: 14v169000 (seats) however, the part was unavailable. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 80,000.
Received "interim" notice of urgent recall for driver side seat rails. Several months later received notice that "fix" was ready and we should contact dealer for repairs. We have been told several times since then that parts are not available and we will be notified when repairs are possible. We have no idea when urgent repairs will be performed.

The parts needed for the repair were not available. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Vin tool confirms parts not available and parts distribution disconnect.

Takata recallmy toyota yaris has had recalls on:1) the front passenger airbag inflator2) power window master switch3) driver side seat track assembly & passenger seat track assembly4) safety recall e0m - remedy notice various models - spiral cablebasically, the driver's airbag is damaged and can possibly fail to deploy. The passenger airbag is a bomb, the windows can cause smoke and fire in my car and both driver and passenger seats can snap off the railing causing people in the vehicle to slide forward or backwards (with no airbag protection) in the case of an accident.this vehicle is a death trap - and when i called to schedule the recalls at my local toyota dealership i was told it will take over 30 days for the parts to arrive. When i asked what i am supposed to do about driving my family around in my vehicle the representative said that toyota only "recommends" you don't drive passengers.is this seriously how toyota will deal with their customers? my car should be completely recalled with these sort of issues. These are not minor issues.
Seat track assembly drivers seat does not lock into place and no remedy available for fix.
Hello, i purchased a new yaris from toyota knoxville, tn. My car has two recall notices. Whenever i call the service department for the recall service, they are like "the parts are not available" or "they do not time to attend to it". I guess they are not at all interested in attending to it. Can you please help.
I was decelerating on a downhill shortened exit ramp, going from 70 mph to a stop within approximately 500 feet . When i applied the brakes, it felt as if the brakes were "metal to metal" and the vehicle barely stopped before hitting the vehicle in front of me.since that time, the same type of incident has occurred 3 more times, always when decelerating rapidly.(when decelerating at a slow rate of speed, they work fine.)i have had the brakes checked, but they said they were "normal".they certainly are not!
The contact owns a 2009 toyota yaris. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 50 mph, the brake pedal was depressed and the vehicle hesitated to stop without warning. The failure recurred on several occasions. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unavailable.
The contact owns a 2009 toyota yaris. While depressing the brake pedal at 35 mph, the vehicle failed to respond and the abs warning light illuminated. As a result, the contact crashed into another vehicle. The air bags failed to deploy. A police report was filed. The contact sustained a concussion and upper back pain that required medical attention. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, but was not diagnosed; however, the body damage was repaired. In addition, the contact received notification of nhtsa campaign numbers: 14v168000 (air bags) and 14v169000 (seats). The parts to do the repairs were unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repairs. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 71,000. Parts distribution disconnect.
I noticed that my car would not brake properly if i happened to be breaking over an uneven service years ago. So, i drive to avoid having to do so. But, then recently it started making a squealing noise along with breaking. It comes and goes. Then, a clunking noise started when reversing. Now, the clunking noise comes in either direction. The squealing has graduated to scratching and scraping when i accelerate or decelerate. It comes from my front, passenger side tire and when i turn my steering wheel all the way to the right, it gets very loose - whereas turning all the way to the left still feels appropriately tight. I think the looseness is connected to the front right passenger side wheel, as if a piece has broken or is loose - because it comes and goes. This all happens when i'm moving, no matter what terrain it is (highway, city street, etc.) and whether i am turning or not.
The abs is not working.
Fortunately i have not had an accident.my concern is with the brakes of my 2009 toyota yaris.they disengage while braking.this has happened a few times since i purchased my car july 30, 2009.at first i was concerned that the brakes my fail while driving on the highway to work.however it appears that items on the road (snow, leaves)get inthe brakes and they stop working for a moment.i will be braking and feel the brakes disengage.(i live in an area with a lot of trees and there may be decaying leaves on the road at an intersection.) when i went into the service center, the service representative shared an incident of a mechanic who found a small pebble in the brakes of a vehicle which was experiencing the brake failure problem.i don't have 8,000 miles on my car yet and this has occurred at least 5 times.i have been driving for over 30 years and brought my first car (a ford) when i was 20.i have never experienced a brake failure problem like this that seems to be part of the brakes design.
My toyota yaris has a brake problem in wet or icy conditions. It will stop but not as quick as it should. The brakes makes a sounds like it's trying to work.

The dealer stated that they did hot have vehicles with salvage titles. The contact researched the vehicle on carfax and found that it had structural damage. The dealer refused to buyback the vehicle because it had structural damage, and accused the contact of engaging in a crash. The contact currently refused to make any more payments on the vehicle and disputed the condition of the vehicle with the dealer. Takata recall. Crashed my yaris going approx. 30 mph. I broke a bone in my arm when it hit the steering wheel. The airbag didn't deploy and i was rushed to the hospital by ambulance
I'm writing this letter to your office, because of the unfair and deceit practice of auto loan finders, inc; located at 1800 sandy plains industrial parkway, suite 320, in marietta, georgia 30066.i pray you can assist me with this matter.in november of 2010, i had purchased a used 2009 toyota yaris sedan with 47,398 miles on it.it is a basic model vehicle with manual roll down windows.i was informed by the sales representative at the time, that after a year i can go to a traditional auto dealer and trade the vehicle mentioned above; for a lower interest rate.i waited 2 years and 7 months to trade this vehicle in; keeping my $420.00 monthly payment on time.i went to a toyota dealership in metro atlanta on sunday june 30, 2013 to trade in the toyota yaris and was informed by the sales representative that my vehicle had structural damage and they only could give me $2,500.00 vice the $6,000.00; if the vehicle wasn't structurally damage.he showed me the carfax on the vehicle mentioned above; had been in an accident in january of 2010 and that same vehicle was sold to me in november of 2010 and the structural damage to it wasn't disclosed to me.no matter what my situation was i wouldn't have bought a structural damage vehicle putting myself, passengers and other motorists in danger.the sales representative went on to say, the only thing they can do with that particular vehicle, is sell it at an auction; because they will not sell an unsafe vehicle to anyone. I have the entirety of this letter upon your request.
I hit a snow bank left behind by a snowplow going 50 mph and air bags never deployed. Was on a highway, in motion when this occurred.

The contact owns a 2009 toyota yaris. While driving at 30 mph and attempting to engage the brakes, an abnormal sound emitted from the vehicle. The failure mileage was 70,600.
The contact owns a 2009 toyota yaris. The contact stated that while driving approximately 10 mph, the driver's side rear axle fractured making the vehicle inoperable. The vehicle was towed to the residence. The cause of the failure was not determined. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer were notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 185,000.
I have recently noticed some strange clunking, popping and squealing noises coming from my car. After having my mechanic look at it i have been informed that the passenger side lower control arm rear bolt was broken and part of it remains but is no longer connected to the control arm. My passenger side front wheel was moving in and out approximately 2inches. In my research i have found no recall notice for this issue and feel it is a large safety issue.

Was traveling on constantine drive on my way to beach blvd in huntington beach.i was going approximately 15 mph, i hadglanced down to look at my navigation systemi noticed that i was close to a parked car and put on my brakes.i ended up striking the left tail light ofa parked 2010- blue - ford element.the point of impact was my right front taillight.my car flipped over in one fell swoop and landed upside down.eyewitnesses to the crash believe that a gust of wind caused the car to flip over.the police who arrived on the scene shortly thereafter could not find a justification for what had occurred at the low rate of speed that i was traveling. I was driving at the regular speed limit and when the car in front of me was stopping to make a left hand turn. I stepped on my brake and the car would not stop. I was practically standing on the brake pedal and the car would not stop and i hit the car in front of me. The airbags deployed. I remember that a policeman told me to put on the emergency brake because the car was still sliding. I know i tried to stop and the car wouldn't stop. Based on their reports of toyota's sticking accelerator, i thought this should be reported and investigated. I just came home last week. I broke 4 ribs in the accident and the car is totaled. I was in rehabilitation for 2 1/2 weeks. I would like to see this accident investigated. I have a clean driving record and i believe there may have been some type of mechanical issue that would not let me stop the car. The insurance salvage garage is holding the car for 60 days at our request so the car could be inspected.
Passenger side mirror explodingwas driving my 2009 yaris there was no one on the road , no truck no bike was all alone when suddenly heard a huge explosion, when i looked the passenger mirror was gone so was the back of it. The front side passenger airbag is not working well and also the tyre sensor is showing on the screen whiles tyre pressure are ingood conditions

This vehicle does not deactivate cruise control unless you stomp on the foot brake. Light application never does it.
My toyota yaris 2009 has the same problem with the gas pedal acceleration problem i notice it about 3 months ago.
Relating to a 2009 toyota yaris sedan..sudden acceleration or deceleration when vehicle is cold (after sitting overnight..temps in the 30's)repeatable and noticeable 3 or 4 times each week dependent on ???,,,,feels as if vehicle is going to stall then it jumps and repeats,,this will occur until car is sufficiently warmed up,,, have not noticed it on warm vehicle yet,,
2009 yaris has demonstrated unintended acceleration on two occasions with different drivers. It did respond after hard braking. This was after disengagement of cruise control.
