The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic. The technician stated that the spiral cable needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired and the manufacturer was notified. The approximate failure mileage was 115,000.

I was involved in a car accident where a full size dodge ram pick up hit me on the driver's side of my toyota.it hit me on the front fender and slightly on the front of the door.when i was hit on the side my side air bags did not deploy. When i was hit my head it the driver's side window and knocked me out. Which in turn my truck was still in motion while i was knocked out and i proceeded to go through a ladies yard and came to a stop once it hit her shed head on, which those air bags did not deploy either. I had to be transported by ambulance to the hospital have a ct scan done.i suffer from head aches, neck pain and short term memory loss.i also had to miss two days of work.the wreck was sufficient enough it totaled both full size pick ups.

The contact owns a 2007 toyota tundra. The contact stated that the air bag light illuminated on the instrument panel. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 173,000.

Air bag light showed air bag was turned off, took vehicle to merced ca toyota dealership to determine problem, was advised that computer needed to be reprogramed. It cost 130.00. Dealer could not explane why vehicle needed programing or when it could need it again. Very concerned!!!!! vehicle parked at my home, in a.m. When i went to start vehicle warning light came on, no reason that i know of.

The contact owns a 2007 toyota tundra. While driving at 40 mph, the contact crashed into the passenger side of an unyielding vehicle. The air bags failed to deploy. The driver sustained chin, shoulder, neck, and back injuries that required medical attention.a police report was filed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 71,000.

I was rear-ended by an 18 wheeler and rammed into the back of a ford f250. The damage was in excess of $12,500. Frame damage occurred. The rear window had to be replaced.i sustained a neck injury to include two herniated disks. The air bags did not deploy.

I took my tundra into the dealership where i bought it, for the power window motor recall. The airbag light had been coming on for about a year. They informed me that that means the airbag is inoperable. I asked them to check and tell me what the issue was. They ran a check,(code b1801) and said to rule out some other problem they would first have to change out the spiral cable assembly, at my cost. Apparently that fixed the issue. It seems odd to me that with 8 million spiral cable assembly's under recall, that that would be the issue here, and it is not covered by the recall. The total cost was $507.13, to me.do i have any recourse? toyota customer service gave me this website address to report the issue, since they are unwilling to take any responsibility here. They said "they can't predict what will go wrong with a vehicle".

The contact owns a 2007 toyota tundra. There was an occupant in the front passenger seat and suddenly, the "air bag" warning indicator displayed the "off" position. The frame is completely rusted holes in some spots. Exhaust is rusted. Exhaust hangers have rusted apart. Fuel tank hangers are rusted almost apart. All brake lines are rusted. Transmission is slipping due to mounting brackets being rusted. Driveshaft has fallen apart due to rust. Terrible condition.

The front of my vehicle gives a vibration and shakes real bad just happens when i'm driving my truck

December 2008, while driving a rented toyota 4x4 tundra the front airbags 1/2 deployed without cause, no accident, no collision, just a bumpy paved county road - fm1431 georgetown/round rock tx area...and the longhorn car & truck rental company has offered nothing in explanation as to why. They absconded quickly with vehicle and wouldn't let my adjuster look at it.reported on tx blue form for accidents and the rental company immediately.

Toyota tundra 2007 w/ 4wd. Vehicle went from normal 2 wheel drive into 4 wheel drive low without warning, without touching any controls. Could not drive faster than 30 mph, engine check light came on. Turned into dealer, they said it was a component in the engine that failed. The warranty inspector came by today and the history data on the memory had been erased and could not duplicate. Vehicle is still in the shop. Dealer states it is defective but the warranty does not want to pay for the repair. The dealer stated air pump in the intake manifold failed. The consumer believe the problem may be the ecu. Updated 05/24/10

Turned the truck on and the check engine and traction control lights were both on, 4 lo and vsc off lights were both flashing, the truck sounded noticeably louder and now has a loss of power.codes show p2440.

2007 toyota tundra v-8, 5.7 l.4 lo light blinks, vsc light blink, check engine light on continuously all three of these lights are coming on. I can take my battery off and they reset. Per toyota disconnect battery and it will re set. The truck will kick you down to 40 mph or slower when this happens even if you are running 60 at the time. Was told the problem was my secondary air intake. And a tire sensor problem. But that doesn't explain the sudden surges in motor or dieing for no reason.talked with toyota and they said they would fix it. To date not done. This has happened for the past 2 months. Have to disconnect my battery several times a day just to drive my truck. I have almost been hit more than 3 times due to this problem. Went to pull out to cross 3 lanes of traffic and it kicked down, had the gas pedal floored and the truck would barely move.my truck now has 40,000 miles and it still is not fixed. My a/c went out, said it was the fuse, what about the blower motor that has never worked right, or the truck wants to die all the time, electronic start wont work was told my battery was no good yet they won't honor the battery because it is now out of their warranty due to them taking so long to get it in and having me to disconnect the battery all the time. Toyota called to day and said my truck would be done in a couple hours, then less than a hour later they said it wouldn't be done because they had ordered the wrong parts and that i would need to bring them a battery.

I have a 2007 toyota tundra with 4.7l that doesn't like to start all the time. While this isn't a safety issue i believe you are looking into the possibility of an electrical/electronics problem associated with the sudden acceleration. As a former mechanic/current electrician/as in electrical engineering i believe my problem is definitely electrical in nature. I'm not sure if it is related but i figured i would send a message and give you a heads up. Also this is not an isolated case as another gentleman in town here has the same year make and model with the same problem. We have both been to the dealer 3 times and they still won't do anything about the problem. Today i am sending my paperwork to a law firm who specializes in the pa lemon law. Let me know if i can be of any assistance. They just did the recall on my truck last week and i'm going on a long trip tomorrow so wish me luck! lol thanks!

All four of my door locks stopped working within a month.all four were replaced under warranty.now, all four locks have stopped working again within a month.toyota said that they see nothing out of the ordinary with this.they expect me to pay $2,000. To replace 4 locks again. Toyota said that there is no recall for this item.

6/20/12 i noticed master power window button on driver?s side door for the rear passenger window was stuck and would not operate.6/21/12 i started the truck in my driveway and turned on the ac, left the vehicle to grab my briefcase and get in no more than 15 seconds.when i opened the door i noticed smoke at the entryway but couldn?t identify what or where it was coming from.i appeared to go away so i thought i was imagining something.i got in the truck and noticed the smell of burning electrical wires about the time my head turned i saw smoke coming out of the drivers side power window master control and getting big fast, i opened the door and it really came out fast.turned off the vehicle and immediately tried to see if it was flames or not.it was not in flames but the smoke was still coming out.i grabbed the fuse box panel and tried to identify the fuse for the power windows.it took a call to the dealership to identify the fuse under the dashboard i didn?t know was there i thought thee was only 1 fuse panel box.the dealership was extremely responsive and a lot of help.service advisor we identified the correct fuse, removed it and the smoke stopped.i have no other problems that i know of.this is a 2007 vehicle with a fire defect.i went on the internet and see that there are identified problems for this exact same problem but the tundra was not identified as a model affected but it sure should be.there is not a recall as of this time and i have not had it repaired yet.*information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6)tt

My truck first thing in morning will not shift into 3rd gear until i stop put in park and then drive and once going down road it shifts and drives fine when reported it to dealer he tells me that it has to warm up that his does same thing , all my lights on gauges comes on flashing oil light 4 wheel drive light the skid light every light comes on i take cables off battery and wait a while hook up and they all go off what would cause this it does it almost daily why it's in motion on city and highway roads

The contact owns a 2007 toyota tundra. While driving 15 mph, the exterior rearview mirror de-fogger was activated and flames appeared from the windshield of the vehicle. A fire report was not filed. The contact extinguished the fire and there were no injuries sustained. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 91,300.

Hello, two day ago i was pulling put of my condo complex when i noticed a burning plastic smell.after about 20 seconds smoke and very small flames started to pour out of the drivers door panel where the switches are located. There was no major fire damage but the car was filled with smoke and the switch that operates the passenger side front window melted down.i fortunately had some tools nearby so i quickly disconnected the battery cables as it was still arcing and sparking.the only switch that works properly is the drivers side front window.the following day i told my co worker about what happened.today he showed me the autoblog.com article regarding the story about toyotas window switches catching fire.how do i go about reporting this to you guys or someone else. My truck is a 2007 toyota tundra double cab 4.7 v8 2wd trd.

Water in the air induction pumps causing engine to shut down and have no power at speed.engine lights come on and truck is disabled or hobbled with low speed only.this has been documented as a common problem with tundra 2007-2008 owners.

I had all the dash lights flashing and the transfer case stuck in 4wheel drive low, an engine misfire and vibration. I took it to my mechanic and he said it was an air pump valve problem. He cleared the codes in the computer and i drove it home. The next morning it did the same thing. I took it back and he got it running again. The weather has since warmed up and it hasn't done it since. That was a couple months ago. I found out that toyota was extending the warranty to 10 years and 100,000 miles. So i took it to foss toyota in casper, wy. They told me they couldn't fix it unless it malfunctioned right there on their lot.i contacted toyota headquarters by e-mail, i explained the problem and was phoned by someone at toyota. They told me the same thing. I say bullcookies. Those engine fail codes are still in the computer. And i believe they're stalling until my 10 years are up this coming september. This air pump repair is a $5,000.00 to $6,000.00 bill. I think toyota should repair my truck, i bought it from them in good faith, i had to have a $1,000.00 + engine beltand a water pump put on it already, and now this? what are my options when dealing with a less than honest company?when the dash lights flashing and the transfer case stuck in 4wd. It was parked in my garage and i just started it up on a cold morning. Thank you

Toy. 2007 5.7 crew-max 4+4 p2440 code came on and truck went into safety mode .greatly reduced speed . 4 lo lt. Comes on as well as engine, traction and anti slip lts. I carry a hand-held code detector and clear the code as soon as it comes up and continuously clear it as i'm driving. Toyota wanted 3400.00 to fix this defect after i bought 3 new tundras from them every 3 years. This has gone on for 13 mo. 8 mo. Into it my truck started dying and would not start for several min.while i was driving on interstate and was stranded in middle of road more than once. This went on for 1 week 2 different times than it started running again with just the p2440 code coming up all the time and shutting me down. This has happened to many many people including my brother in law who also had a 2007 tundra ex. Cab. They fixed his because he was only 1500 mile out of warranty. When my trouble started i was at 70,000+ mi. Defect has nothing to do with amt. Of miles, just time(after 3 yrs.)after 13 mo. Still no help from toyota and no recall. The contact owns a 2007 toyota tundra. The contact stated that while merging into traffic, the vehicle experienced reduced power and was only able to drive approximately 30 mph. The vehicle stability warning light was illuminated and flashing. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who stated that the vehicle stability control or secondary injector valve failed. The contact called sun toyota (3001 us-19, holiday, fl 34691, (727) 310-3070) however, the vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 136,000.

Purchased 07 tundra in aug 2010 and by dec 2010 we had issues with 4wd gauges blinking/dinging and loss of power/acceleration.followed the manual and no fix.problem eventually quit after about 3 days.problem resumed on 2/14/11 and took to auto shop to have diagnosed.code p2440 was given and we really do not want to return to the local toyota dealer due to lack of quality sales and service.also do not have the estimated $1300+ to fix problem.help toyota, why do we read that this seems to be a common problem with tundras having 50k+ miles?

2007 toyota tundra. Consumer states cruise control does engage and then will not disengage brakes. *tgwthe consumer stated the brakes would not hold at stop signs and the vehicle would move forward. The vehicle had electrical shorts in the wiring such as; the headlights, clock, cigarette lighter, alarm and door locks.the seat belts would not always latch. The windshield wipers would not activate, there was a severe shake coming from the front of the vehicle as well as when the brakes were applied. There was a noise coming from the 4-wheel drive, the steering would act erratic and the accelerator pedal became stuck which caused the consumer to have an accident while backing out of his driveway..

Mechanics repairing my electrical system said that rats or mice are attrcted to the soy wiring in the engine compartment and said toyota knows this but provides no help warning or assistance my engine could have failed and did...my truck is a 2007 toyota tundra crew cabin, vin is : 5tfrt541x7x'''the issue came from nowhere almost vausing us to get hit by normal speed traffic and unable to deal with it at allsimply driving down the road when the engine first stopped accelerating, then causing us to move only at low speed putting us in serious jeopardy

The toyota tundra 2007-2010 carry a major saftey issues all over the net, under error code p2415 or p2440 or p2441 or p2442 series of errors, which prevent the truck from accelerating or stopping properly for that matter. I was towing when the check engine light came out while driving ( i mean driving) on the hwy, towing somewhat a heavy load & all of sudden while going uphill the engine just lost power instead of me going forward i got stuck, and if it was not for the other drivers being aware i would have been severly injured or killed along with my four kids,to make a miserable long story short,i find out this proplem is amajor issue and a defect in toyota tundras, and it cost consumer like me $3500 up to $5000 to fix it involve an air supply unit to the engine to shut down.......i need to get this issue to be looked at i have four kids were riding with me that day.... I cant believe the damage i avoided & the concept behind this stupid design.i urge you as an american to look into this issue i am providing you a link for that matter . And please let me know what action i can take against toyota to fix this saftey issue. The link http://www.toyotatundraforum.com/emergency-911-tundra-down/6950-i-think-im-right-place-now-4.html from nhtsa web site.

The vsc it is blinkin the acelerator dont respond the transmition vivration when push pedal

My 2007 toyota tundra hesitates when you are stopped at a light making a turn or slowly rolling around a corner and making a sharp turn. No matter how much gas is given it retards it self and thenlurch once the wheels start to straiten up. I was told it is a computer issue due to the antislip features. But it is gross over correction at best. And dangerous for sure.

The contact owns a 2007 toyota tundra. While driving approximately 40 mph, the check engine, esc, and vsc warning indicatorsilluminated, the vehicle started to lose power and would not accelerate. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing or repairs. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 148,000.

I started my truck up yesterday just randomly to go to the store.as soon as i started it a bunch of warning lights went off.the check engine light was on, the 4wd lo light was blinking, the vsc off light was blinking, and the traction control light was on.i then turned the vehicle off and let it sit for a few minutes.i turned the truck back on and the same warning lights were still on.i then pulled out of my driveway to go to a friends house who has a little computer that tells you what errors are going off when your check engine light is on like an autobody.as i pulled onto the main road and pressed on the accelerator the truck would barely go.the engine sounded like it usually does but the truck would hardly accelerate.when i finally got to my friends house he plugged the computer in and it gave me an error code of p2440.once i looked more into it i found that it was the air induction pump that was malfunctioning.further research online i found thousands of people have had the same problem with tundra's with mileage between 40k and 60k.my biggest concern is why the vehicle is not accelerating like it supposed to.many other people have the same concern.that is a huge safety hazard to me.what would happen if that would just all of a sudden shut my engine down to the slow crawl that it is doing if i am on a turnpike in heavy traffic.i would believe that there would definitely be an accident which i am sure it has happened before.i am just wondering if there is anything that can be done or maybe something that has already been done.like a recall that i am not aware of.

Abs, trac and 4hi warning lights all on while driving.vehicle abs and trac control all ceased to function. Was driving in slippery road conditions.almost lost control of vehicle.after stopping vehicle, 4hi would not engage.this is 4th or 5th time this has occurred over the past 2 years.mostly occurs during cold weather but not always.have taken truck to dealer after these occurrences and 2 of the times the dealer has been able to replicate the situation.when truck is in state of flashing lights, the truck always returns to normal when you turn off vehicle, wait and then restart it.dealer has replaced parts now 4 times and still having the same problem

My vsc off light has been blinking when i started my truck when i got off work at 3:00p.m. Central time. My check engine light is on as well. I brought my truck to auto zone for a diagnostics test and came up with code p2440. My vsc off light came on one day not loo long ago, but went off so i thought nothing of it. Loss of power.

My check engine light has come on. As well as the lights stating the vehicle stability control and traction control systems have been disabled. The transmission will not shift out of third gear and the vsc being off is causing an unsafe driving condition due to slipping tires around corners at normal speeds. Upon checking the engine code p2714 and p0751 i have come to find out there is an internal toyota technical service bulletin circulating their dealership service departments dating back to november 28, 2007 when this issue was first discovered. The bulletin is named tc017-07. Also upon further investigation i have found numerous posts about this code and the exact issues my vehicle suffers from on multiple toyota tundra message and internet chat groups. This is a very serious issue which could easily cause loss of life or property if these vehicles with this issue are suddenly prone to the vsc and transmission acting abnormally. This issue for me came up very suddenly with no prior warning as the dash lights came in while driving. I will be asking totota to fix this issue at their cost with the remedy they describe in their service bulletin. The remedy they recommend is to replace the transmission and reprogram the ecm.

2007 toyota tundra. Toyota safety feature malfunction *grthe consumer stated the brakes failed, the radio was replaced twice, the tire monitoring system was inoperative, and the abs actuator malfunctioned.when the consumer went to have the oil changed, he informed the dealer the vsc light was on.

Service engine light came on while driving under 30mph.engine no longer starts correctly.only 51,000 miles.air pump assembly and air switching valves error code. (p0418)known defunct parts for 2007 tundras which toyota extended warranty to 10 years or 150,000 miles.warranty not sufficient length for this model year for low mileage vehicles.could not have had properly fixed until check engine light comes on.however, parts fail at 50k+ miles.please extend warranty to appropriate length for this issue.numerous similar instances noted upon internet research.

The contact owns a 2007 toyota tundra. The contact was unable to start the vehicle after several attempts. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the engine air injector valve was defective and needed to be replaced. The injector valve was replaced and the failure was remedied. The contact indicated that the same failure had occurred on 3 separate occasions. The local dealer gray danial toyota located at 104 gray daniels blvd, brandon, ms 39042, and the manufacturer were notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 25,000. *as

Vehicle air pumps are causing my truck to not take off correctly and won't go over 40 mph going up hill.

We received a recall for this vehicle from toyota to say the secondary air injection system valve stuck open, we contacted them, the vehicle was under the mileage, but, under the year of manufacture, this was relayed to us on two different occasions, verbally, toyota seems reluctant to put it in writing. The problem they said is caused by a faulty sensor installed when the vehicle was assembled.when the sensor triggers, the vehicle looses power immediately, this can be very dangerous when overtaking for example.on both occasions the verbal message we receive says toyota will not repair the problem, even though they sent a recall letter, and the problem is caused by a faulty sensor installed when the vehicle was manufactured.if you require more information please let us knowthank you

The contact owns a 2007 toyota tundra. While driving 35 mph, the vehicle went into limp mode, failed to accelerate, and lost power. In addition, the anti-lock braking system, traction control, and check engine warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the contact was informed that the secondary pump and switching valve needed to be replaced. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified and provided case number: 1808030456. The failure mileage was 148,000.

The emission air pumps and valves failed on truck which put truck in limp mode which made unsafe to drive only able to go 20 mph and almost causing an accident tsb 0329-08 on highway needs to be a recall

I got an obd ii code p2440 secondary air injection valve stuck open as i was pulling out of the driveway and almost got stuck in the road.from what i've read there are quite a few vehicles affected by this but i never got a letter from toyota indicating the elongation of warranty on the affected part/s for 2007-2010 tundra's and sequoias.i'm trying to resolve it right now with toyota but they haven't given me a firm answer as to if it was warranty related or not.

Didn't notice till after a mile of driving but my check engine light, vsc, and 4lo were flashing. I could not accelerate past 50 miles per hour. Unfortunately the toyota dealership was closed and i took it in to auto shop to get the codes scanned to provide to toyota dealership.in order to get home i had to get the codes cleared out to get it out of limp mode but i drove it to the toyota dealership the next day and provided the codes and necessary information. Unfortunately they needed to get the codes off themselves i explained that there was a 2007 and 2008 tundra ? tsb 032908 but they couldn't verify the problem and told me that next time it happens to bring it in without resetting the codes. Well it happened again today almost a month later. I'm taking the vehicle to a local dealership other than the initial one as towing charges would be outrages.i hope toyota can get his corrected for others regardless if you have the codes or not it should be a mandatory notice for all toyota tundra owners so you do not get stranded far from a dealership or eventually have that issue as it is provided only if you have up to 150k miles or 10years from when the vehicle was purchased.

I have a 5.7l 2007 toyota tundra. It has been raining real bad in texas and the other day the check engine light came on when i was going down the highway and it lost power. I took it and had it checked. I have an error code p0419. I have read multiple instances online and an extended warranty was issues for 10 years 150k miles, but i am out by time, and i only have 88k miles.this is a safety issues as if i was passing someone and lost power, i could have been in a wreck. This has been a known issue by toyota and needs to be addressed by a general recall.

Since the day that i bought this vehicle i have complained about the rust. It was 2 yes old with 17,000 miles on it. The bed and frame are badly rusted.i received a letter from toyota about frame and they applied some weird black stuff. Total nightmare.the bed ,even though i found a service bulletin they say too late to do anything.even though i have been complaining at more then 5 dealership's since 2009 and called corporate numerous times. The bed is dangerous and has been. The support structure,.around mounting bolts, eventually bed will separate from frame. Very critical safety issue. Known problem but won't honor . Next problem that they also have an updated warranty which i was never notified about.secondary air injection system fails ,which is an emissions component.critical to keep emissions low.

2007 toyota tundra.consumer writes in regards to air injection system pump malfunction.the consumer stated while driving, the check engine light illuminated.almost immediately, there was a sudden loss of power, which almost caused him to come to a complete stop.the consumer took the vehicle to his local mechanic, who informed him of what the failure was. When the mechanic called toyota about the parts, the mechanic was informed about an extended warranty from three years/36,000 to five years/ 70,000. The mechanic was alsoinformed about a defect with the system, which caused water infiltration, which could compromise the system.the mechanic advised the consumer to visit the dealer. The dealer did confirm the diagnosis was correct. However, the consumer was informed the warranty only applied to a few states and the consumers stated was not included. The consumer paid $2300 for the repair.

While driving the truck to las vegas aug, 2018 was passing a line of semi's going to slow after passing about 3 of them the engine just stopped running, had to get to side of road fast, after making it there the truck would not start again. After an hour or so it started. Made it to vegas. The same thing happened several times since that day also there is no warning lights such as "check engine" light that came on.this truck was bought new in 2008, when the first time that happened it had 29080 miles on it, i don't drive it that much as i am retired so don't drive as much as i did before.that trip to vegas could have been all to different had i not been able to get off freeway, because the stearing at 70 mph is not too good, could have been bad accident for my wife and myself, and others that may have been involved. Toyota dealer said he never heard of a problem like that when i called them. Have searched several web sites and found complaints with same problem therefore i believe toyota knows about it but refuses to repair their problem. Maybe they need a high total of deaths before fixing their problem. I think its a fuel pump problem or related to the engine.

Check engine came on, took to local toyota shop, checked codes, p0012, camshaft position, "a" timing over retarded-bank one & p0022 same for bank number two. Activated both vvt systems & checked operation of both vvt. All working fine at this time. All four oil control valves test working fine at this time.checked oil control valve filter test working fine at this time. If check engine light comes on again after that, then need to replace camshaft timing gears inside engine.has toyota addressed this problem? are there any recalls?

My traction control light has came on and stays on, my vsc light continuously flashes. The code that it keeps sending is p2440 and p2441 (secondary injection). I had went overseas with the military for two years and came back last year to change the battery and this started. The truck only has 75,000 miles. This is all the time, doesn't matter stopped, going, high speed, low speed.

The contact owns a 2007 toyota tundra. The contact stated that the check engine and wsc warning lights were visible on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who stated that the vacuum system needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure recurredfour times. The vehicle was repaired each time. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 80,000.

Secondary air injection system toyota issued bulletin, t sb 0160 11 . The truck went into limp mode on the interstate truck slowed to 50 mph, was dangerous trying to get out of traffic . This should be recalled, instead it's appropriate$4000 repair. It is so common bypassunits are available on ebay for $200.

I took my truck for service at a toyota tundra and the shop informed me that my air pump was defective. I can't go above 30 mph up hill and it doesn't shift correctly when my truck is in limp mode. The traction control light, vehicle swerve control light, and check engine light stays on.

Thank you

Issues with toyota's secondary air intake pump seems to be a major issue. Since 2007, now toyota has control over the necessary parts and will release as they seem fit. I have waited over two weeks to get these parts and installed. And the dealership says they have no idea how long it will be could be weeks. They know that the pump has issues and will not fix the problem till it goes bad. And if your driving down the interstate and you lose power that could be a safety issue. My truck broke down in my driveway as i was pulling out to go on a 3000 plus mile road trip. Wish a recall can be ordered to fix the issue before hand.

I notified toyota motor manufacturing of alabama quality control in late 2007 and again in early 2008 of both of my tundras speeding up on their own. I actually work at the toyota plant and was told to not breath a word of this to anyone that it had to do with my job.i have a lot more information on this and toyota has had me go to depositions over this but have tried to get me to believe their was nothing wrong with the vehicles. I am now coming forward.

This is a recurring problem.initially, my truck was taken to a toyota dealer service center on 3/15/2012 to an issue with my check engine light, slip indicator light, 4-wheel drive (4lo), vsc off all came on, sluggish acceleration/loss of acceleration occurred when driven & my gas mileage/fuel efficiency decreased (my truck appeared to 'run rich').initially the warning/indicator lights would occasionally stay on when the truck was started, other times they would not.eventually, they just stayed on whenever the truck was started.when serviced, i was told that the issue was covered by my warranty & the secondary air switching valve was replaced which should have fixed the issue.just over a year later, 3/19/2013, the same issue has occurred after being told the problem was fixed!the mileage that this occurred at was around 44,000.the problem was presenting in the same way - loss of acceleration/sluggish acceleration (extremely dangerous not to have acceleration while traveling on a highway/interstate), the same warning/indicator lights came on & the gas mileage/fuel efficiency decreased because the truck is 'running rich' again.took it to a honda dealership service center to make sure i would be able to drive home.the service technician gave theerror code of p2440 which is an error code for the air intake pump.honda dealership was unable to fix the problem because of the make of truck.took the vehicle to the same dealership where this problem was initially diagnosed & 'fixed' the first time.have been told by the service technician that the issue is the same problem as last time.however, this technician has informed me that the reason this problem has occurred yet again, is because there is a passenger side & a driver side part.the one replaced last year was the passenger side.this time, it's the drivers side that needs to be replaced.

#25701-38060 emission valve set & clip failed.vehicle started having hesitation (limp mode) issues....becoming not drivable. It cost our company time and money.it had to be repaired a second time the next year....june 29, 2010.toyota is letting customers pick up the repair costs for their mis-design.service depts., both at sioux city ia & lincoln ne, stated this had been happening to other customers regarding this issue on the 2007 tundra.

Toytota tundra 2007 speed went from 60 mph to under 20 mph.car has since be diagosed with defective air flow handler, dealership wants me to pay $5,000 to repair this part.this situation caused a life threatening situation on the highway. This repair should be done at the cost of the manufacturer since the truck only has 63,000 miles on it.

Air pump is full of water. Dealer emptiest, it fills back up. Dealer has no explanation as to cause. Vehicle runs sluggishly. Need to allow extra time when merging into traffic due to poor acceleration. Dealer wants $3000 to replace unit.

1st week of april, 2011, 2007 tundra went into "limp" mode, hooked up tester, said p2442 code.common problem, on these trucks, from what dealer told me.ordered parts, at that time.$1500.00 of parts ordered. Took 9 weeks, to get parts.a very dangerous truck to drive, with this situation. Can't park it, to wait 9 weeks, for parts, still making payments.no power, dangerous on freeway, or any where else.toyota was still sending new trucks, to be sold, when, they could have sent parts, to fix this very expensive, and dangerous problem.if this is an emissions issue, shouldn't a recall be made, and at least prts to fix, be reimbursed?have purchased 5 new toyotas, for family and business, over last 10 years, will look elsewhere, next time i trade.i went from domestic, to toyota, for the same reason, 10 years ago.now toyota is acting like ford and gm, did, at that time./will buy gm or fords next time.toyota has treated me like crap, at the dealer level, and on the corporate level.these parts are only covered 3 year/36,000 miles.toyota knows that these parts, are defective!!if the parts are smog related, need to have a recall!!

My vehicle set a dtc p2440 for the secondary air induction valve stuck open. I have been told this repair is not covered under warranty due to water intrusion. The only problem is that my vehicle has never been under water or off road. This is a design flaw/engineering defect that toyota created and should be treated as a recall for all affected models for replacement for a better or redesigned part. The cost of replacement for the affected parts is beyond reasonable for all toyota owners. Toyota needs to step up and fix there flaw. I pulled out onto a public road and had no power and was nearly involved in an accident due to this problem. Its not safe and very dangerous.

Vehicle hard to stop with a/c or headlights on.engine idles normally 5-600 rpm, until parking lights or a/c is turned on.then it idles at 800 rpm in gear.sometimes it feels like you've been rear ended, after coming to a stop. If driving surface is slippery and put into gear with head lights on, the rear tires will begin to spin, without touching the accelerator.this is a daily occurence that has been taken to different toyota dealers with no relief.all they can say is that the computer says everything is okay.turning the parking lights on does not cause enough load on the engine to warrant the extra 200 or more rpm.the other day ( 01/26/2010 ) i was turning around in a muddy driveway and while idling i turned the steering wheel to the left.i let my foot off the brake and the truck went straight, even as i applied the brakes, leaving two big ruts through my friends yard.this was caused by the ground being slippery and the high idle speed.i am sure that this will cut down on the life of the brakes.4.7 v8 engine

2007 toyota tundra.consumer writes in regards to oil leak around manifold and camshaft and water pump leaking.consumer sent additional correspondence.smd

I am the owner of a 2007 toyota tundra and while driving cross country with my wife and 2yr daughter the truck automatically went into limp mode while driving 65 mph and stopped dead almost causing an accident.trouble codes were pulled and found to be air injection valves for emission control upon startup only .this was midway thru a 2300 mile trip.truck has 67000 miles on it and it out of warranty so cost to me is between 4000-5000 $.truck should not enter limp mode while driving as it is just a matter of time before an accident occurs.

Turned the truck on and the check engine and traction control lights were both on, 4 lo and vsc off lights were both flashing, the truck sounded noticeably louder and now has a loss of power.codes show p2440.

Failed inspection code p2440,2441took to toyota dealer checked p2240 .need to replace air pump, air switch valve bankand bank 2.cost $2700 . This is second time failed. Last year air pump failed. Toyota dealer estimated $4000 replace. I did buy air pump ang replace it ,cost me $ 1100. Mileage were 69329 and this time 101,450.

The contact owns a 2007 toyota tundra. The contact stated that the air pump and valve set failed which caused the vehicle to become resistant to acceleration attempts. The vehicle was inspected by a dealer and the dealer advised her that the pump and the valve set would need to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and offered to pay for fifty percent of the repair costs. The failure mileage was approximately 119,000.

Air injection system failure causes a check engine light to appear and can cause the vehicle to go into "cripple" mode limiting throttle and speed to 40 mph which could be a serious safety concern in some driving conditions.dealer stated they are "fixing" ~2 vehicles a day and replacing the air injection pumps and valves for a total cost of ~$4000 if the vehicle is not under warranty anymore.in my case, the dealer replaced one pump a week ago and now the second pump has failed ($1100 for each pump).there has not a design change to the pumps or valves in the system with the replacement parts so the failure will happen again in another 30-50k miles.dealer claims moisture in the system is causing the problems.a quick google search on the problem shows the problem is systemic with 2007+ tundras and sequoias with the 5.7l v8.other manufactures use an air injection system with a much lower cost and there does not seam to be any problems with them.

The 2007 toyota tundra double cab with 5.7 liter engine was experiencing vehicle traction control system malfunctions.after replacement of wiring harness, traction control ecu, wheel speed sensors the problem was not corrected.a factory technician was brought in to look over the vehicle.the factory technician informed me that the cause of the problems with my truck were because several sensors had lost calibration due to the battery being disconnected.there is no information in the owners manual nor any warning signs on the vehicle that provide any cautionary statements to the owner or a service provider that disconnecting the battery may result in the loss of calibration of sensors in the vehicle.toyota motor corporation has clarified that this information is only in the factory service manual.a review of several toyota repair procedures, which require the battery to be disconnected contain no warning to check sensor calibration.the traction control system is one of the major safety systems of this vehicle.when it fails, the operator may loose throttle and braking control.i have had this vehicle shut down the throttle while i was trying to accelerate from a stop sign at an intersection, thus nearly causing a t-bone collision.

The contact owns a 2007 toyota tundra. The contact stated that upon starting the vehicle, the vsc-off, four wheel drive low, check engine and traction control warning lights were illuminated. The contact began to drive the vehicle but the vehicle exhibited far less power than normal. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the contact was told that the air injection pump needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the failure continued. The vehicle was taken back to the authorized dealer on various occasions where it was repaired. The repairs failed to remedy the failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and assisted with the repair costs. The failure mileage was 79,000 and the current mileage was 79,500.

My truck suddenly lost about 80% of its power and would hardly accelerate.very difficult to merge into traffic.dealer said this was due to failure of the "secondary air intake valve."this appears to be very common in 2007 toyota tundras.

Sudden decrease in power , dash lights come ondrove to dealer ship , they said it was the air intake valve that was bad they said it was a common problem they said moisture builds up and makes the intake valve stick they replaced the valve at a costof $1,682.00had i been merging on to the highway this could have been very dangerous for the vehicle will only power up to 35 miles per hour.

1. A section of air conduit fell across brake pedal.2. Once, near death experience attempting to brake.3. Removed part.

Stuck gas pedal.the incident occurred over a year ago when i was driving on us101 highway near tillamook, oregon with two of my brothers, one on the front passenger seat, and one on the back.when i slightly press on the gas pedal, the truck took off with rpm at about 6000 and speed of about 70mph, and i could not stop the truck via pressing really hard on the brake. Finally, i was able to stop it by pushing the shift handle to neutral.i turned off the engine and checked the gas pedal to make sure nothing would get jammed, and i did not find anything.when i tried to restart the engine, the rpm shot to 6000 again, and this time i tapped on the gas paddle couple times, and the engine dropped back down to idle.fortunately, there was no one driving in front of me, and there was no accident involving this incident, but i believed this is a major safety issue that need to get more attention from the truck manufacturer. Btw,i've not let my wife drive this truck since the incident occurred.

Air injection system failure causes a check engine light to appear and can cause the vehicle to go into "cripple" mode limiting throttle and speed to 40 mph which could be a serious safety concern in some driving conditions. Dealer stated they currently have two other tundras there with the exact same problemthey.are "replacing the air injection pumps and valves for a total cost of ~$4000 if the vehicle is not under warranty anymore this is all at the owners expense.this is a dangerous problem due to it prevents acceleration and you have a sudden loss of power quite dangerous when merging or in a flow of traffic..

2007 tundra had a history of loosing power, took it into dealership and they found air injection pump and valve set were rusted and full of water.at a cost of $2000.00, and this is for one side only, the other side can go at any time.i understand these are not updated parts and will need to be replaced again. All out of my pocket. Besides being a safety issue, this a costly repair for what i consider to be a defective system.this needs to be a recall issue!!!!!!

2007 toyota tundra 4.7. Approximately 124,000 kms engine went inito limp mode. Dealership diagnosed problem as air pump and valve bank failure, $4700 repair estimate. Not covered under warranty because over 100,000 kms. Also purchased extended warranty on this vehicle however these parts are not covered under the extended warranty. (go figure) pursued the emissions warranty which covers emission control parts, however toyota claims this is not part of the emission system even though the air pump controls emissions at vehicle start up. Took the pump off the vehicle and drained the water from the poorly designed system, lubricated the pump and got it working. Truck went back into limp mode after a couple days now apparently valve bank is stuck. Toyota still recommends replacing all the parts for $4700. Not happy with toyota this should be a recall the pump is located in the fender well directly in front of right front tire, the intake pipe for the pump is designed so that any water present goes directly into the pump causing the system failure. It would be a pretty simple fix for toyota just put a 90 degree bend in the pipe so that water cannot get in and reposition the intake hole. Trying to sell tundra if anyone is interested.

2007 toyota tundra 4.7l engine p2442 code engine in limp mode. Secondary air intake valve failed in open position. 62000 miles. This is a known defective system that fails if driven in wet conditions due to poor air fan intake design. It sits in the wheel well and is wet all the time. This leads to water being pushed into the air valve causing it to fail.

My wife came very close to getting into an accident while bringing the kids to school a few weeks ago.she was leaving a stop sign getting onto a very busy highway when our 2007 toyota tundra unexpectedly had drastically reduced power.after a trip to the dealership and some research i have found that the reduction in power was caused by a failure in the secondary air injection system.this system is part of the emissions system and is designed to increase efficiency during cold starts.when there is a failure in this system the ecm (onboard computer) goes into a mode in which the available power from the engine is dramatically reduced.toyota has recommended that i replace two air injection pumps and a switching valve set at an estimate of over $3500. I am researching other options because they tell me that this problem can continue to reoccur over and over again.

2007 toyota tundra went into limp mode. Error p2442 reported. 75k miles on truck with air induction system valve sticking due to what appear to be water intrusion. The failure started out intermittently, then became consistent. Cost $1000 to replace both valves in each air induction bank. Worried that the pumps will fail in thenear future. Unhappy toyota customer. Poor engineering design.

2 air induction pumps (aip) and associated values failure around 60k miles. According to toyota the reason for the failure is moisture. New pumps and valves can be installed for $4000 or if you are lucky and you only need to replace one pump and both valves it only cost $2150. The new pumps and values have been modified so they should not failure as fast as originals. If the new pumps and valves had to be "modified" then it leads one to believe the originals had a design flaw.

2007 toyota tundra has air injection failure which puts the truck in "limp" mode or no power. I was entering the expressway and could not get my truck above 40 miles per hour. I was able to pull onto the shoulder to avoid a major crash. Toyota is aware of the problem but charges $4000 for the repair. My truck has been at the dealer for over 6 weeks. This is due to impart to a national recall. This seems in my opinion as a way for toyota to profit from a faulty design and a potential life threatening condition.

Vehicle loss of power, unable to pull out safely in traffic.

Toyota tundra 2007 loss power .dealer was testing air pump assy for bank2 and emissioncontrol valve for both banks need to be replace .it will cost $ 3000.

The contact owns 2007 toyota tundra. The contact stated while driving the vehicle, there was a sudden loss of power. The vehicle went into limp mode, which was a safety feature, but the vehicle did not stall. The dealer performed a diagnostic test which determined that the emission control valve needed to be replaced. The vehicle recurred and the dealer stated the entire emissions system needed to be replaced. The manufacturer agreed with the dealers diagnosis and stated the warranty was no longer valid. The contact was concerned because they were never given a reason why the vehicle would resort to a limp mode. The failure mileage was 59,000 and the current mileage was 137,000.

I have a 2007 toyota tundra sr5 double cab and have had all of my regular maintenance completed on time and at a local toyota dealership.i have made the complaint of my gas pedal sticking and my floor mats were not an issue.they claim they "fixed" the recall problem with adding a part to the gas pedal.since i have had my truck back, it has not worked properly.the gas pedal still accelerates on its on or decelerates on its on.the gas pedal "floats" with your foot so the engine is constantly making the rpm's rise and fall constantly upon riding over bumps or hills.i don't want a "part" to be installed, i want the entire pedal to be replaced!i like my truck, however, the engine does not run correctly and is constantly making a ticking sound like a diesel engine would sound.i have made several complaints to the dealership and they are constantly telling me it is ok and nothing is wrong.transmissions are not made to just down shift 3 gears right off the bat on the interstate on flat ground.nothing has been done to try to correct this problem as they proclaim there is no problem.they are crazy!pulling a horse trailer made it difficult for the transmission to shift properly and it was in tow mode.it took 1 mile or longer for it to shift from 1/2 gear to 4 gear and the rpm's were over 2,500.. This is not normal.i felt it would never shift downward from 1/2 gear.i am afraid to pull my horses with the transmission acting this way.

Floor mat in my 2007 toyota tundra slid forward causing the accelerator to depress fully.avoid crash by shifting to neutral and turning the engine off then discovered the problem.

Radio goes off or on by itself and sometimes the lights will go off when selecting a station but the radio still works. Have been unable to turn radio on at times and the next time it will go off when selecting a station. This also happens with the cd player. Radio was changed once within the first year, worked fine for awhile and has started again.

Toyota 2007 tundra twice accelerated uncontrollably due to a stuck accelerator on the factory floor mats, which are a very thick rubber and don't come with safety clips.mat was moved back but fear it may slide forward again.

Toyota 2007 thru 2010 i leased a 2007 tundra double cab and get recall on safety the mat making gas pedal to get stuck and makes veh go 90mp cant stop. Found article in los angeles times saying worries may not come from mats but from brain in veh. Which i believe usa gov. Is making them check if that were the problem is coming fromunder toyota's runaway car worries may not stop floor mats. I called toyota southeast finance and told them i did not want this tundra truck any longer told me they will not take it back has 9k miles on it already had transmission leak cd problems and so forth i need to know how i can have them take this truck back. Who do i contact in state of florida. Can you contact them for me to receive a complaint form to be put in their files i don't want this time bomb.

The radio inconsistently turns off or on by itself.my concern is that there is a short which could lead to a fire.

Brake lights on the dash board did not appear/ or no warning signs at all that brakes is not totally working and we almost had an accident.

2007 toyota tundra with headlight problems. Consumer states that other drivers would flash their high beams at him. Dealer adjusted them for company requirement and there was nothing left they could do.there is a problem with the aiming/brightness of the headlights. The consumer stated the driver's headlight pointed toward oncoming traffic and the passenger side headlight pointed toward the side. The consumer stated there is a design problem.

Head beam aiming conforming to manufacturers specificationsis too high blinding on coming vehicles. On coming vehicles frequently flash or turn on their high beamsprompting me to reciprocate and and exacerbating the situation. Dealer states that alignment cannot be corrected.

The contact owns a 2007 toyota tundra. The contact stated that the vehicle was exhibiting an unusually overpowering gasoline odor and there was gasoline leaking from the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the contact was told that the o-ring was defective and allowing the fuel tank to leak. Intermittent fuel pump in 2007 toyota tundra 4.7l v8. Engine would stop running randomly, first at low speed and then eventually at highway speeds (75 mph).very dangerous!fuel pump replaced after 30 days of stonewalling to include the 'fix' of keeping the gas tank at least 1/4 full.never detected by the computer; no error codes ever displayed.similar cases reported on the web with similar responses by toyota reported.why isn't this being reported in the media?

After the dealer completed the accelerator recall, my truck now has a slight stall when taking off and if there is any roughness in driving surface, the truck does this lurching/acceleration at each bump. It's almost like when they reprogrammed the accelerator, they made it too sensitive. I wasn't having a problem with the pedal prior to their "fix" but they forced me to have the "repair" done.

I had mytruck in for service and they fix the gas pedal which has made it worse. The truck hesitates then lurches ahead. It happens all the time. Also the transmission is making a banging noise and doesn't shift right. It bangs on acceleration and deceleration have had it to the dealers shop and they acknowledge the problem but won't fix it.

Referring to the january 21, 2010 toyota recall of certain late model vehicles due to aaccelerator pedal ...i am the original owner of a 2007 toyota tundra with approximately 41k miles.i have experienced vehicle behavior consistent with that resulting from a stuck accelerator ... Both in forward and reverse ... On at least three occasions. After reading of toyota's recall,i contacted the phone number on toyota's web site and their representative denied that there was a recall.another toyota representative was aware of the recall and provided the name of a local dealer ... Their service manager also denied that there was a recall even when i read the recall notice from the toyota's web site!she even tried to convince me that i have a mechanical problem and would have to pay to have my vehicle fixed! this lack of internal communication is unacceptable!

2007 toyota tundra, i was taking my tundra in for an oil change and the check engine light came on and i started losing power on my truck i had them check it. Toyota came back and said that fuel vapor switching valve was stuck closed, i took it to another repair shop for a second opinion they found thata secondary injection pump was stuck open, they suggested i take it back to toyota for clarification. Toyota's second diagnosis was they found both air injection pumps were corroded and needed to be replaced for $2100.00.this is a design flaw the dealer called toyota and said they would pay $600.00 but i had to pay for the rest. This is a design flaw that toyota has all but admitted to but won't really do anything to fix it. They should be help responsible for the whole amount. I was told they won't because my truck has 110,00 miles on it. Mileage has nothing to do with this issue its a design issue.*ln

Circulando a una velocidad de 50 mph, de repente se apaga por completo todo el motory la aceleracion se detiene por completo causando un grave momento de no saber que hacery no volvio a encender nunca hasta despues de haber visitado un taller..updated 04-05-13

The vsc it is blinkin the acelerator dont respond the transmition vivration when push pedal

My 2007 toyota tundra fuel tank strap rusted through and the fuel tank came loose and partially fell out but was held in by the fill hose and evap hoses. The skid plate that is mounted to the strap broke completely off and was found on the highway. I find this incredibly dangerous if it had been the front strap it could have been catastrophic. I know rust can be an issue but certainly not something i have been worried about on a 9 year old truck. I am not exactly sure when the strap broke as i saw it hangingafter work on my way to the truck.

The contact owns a 2007 toyota tundra. The contact stated that while driving 35 mph, a shield that covered the fuel tank became rusted and detached from the vehicle. The contact readjusted the shield with a bungee cord. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnosis and the contact was informed that he would need to screw the shield back in place. The contact performed the repair himself. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but offered no assistance. The failure mileage was 57,000 and the current mileage was 69,000.

My gas tank strap rotted off my frame causing my full gas tank to almost fall out.my frame rotted very bad also. I know there were recalls concerning this issue but i'm not sure if they were done to mine. I've only had the truck for three months what do i do?

Have had to have fuel pump replaced several times within past few years as it keeps failing.due to fuel pump failure have had to have car towed home and/or tovar repair shop.this has happened while stationary and also while driving on city street

The straps for the fuel tanks are gone. My whole fuel tank fell off

The contact owns a 2007 toyota tundra. The contact stated that while driving 40 mph the vehicle suddenly stalled. The vehicle was moved to the shoulder. The contact was informed by a technician that the vehicle had run out of fuel but the fuel gauges indicated that there were sufficient fuel levels. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted about the failure. The failure mileage was 67,000. The vin was not available.

All four of my door locks stopped working within a month.all four were replaced under warranty.now, all four locks have stopped working again within a month.toyota said that they see nothing out of the ordinary with this.they expect me to pay $2,000. To replace 4 locks again. Toyota said that there is no recall for this item.

I understand there have been the 2007 toyota tundra has had a number of recalls for rear propeller shaft, front ball joints, brakes, seat belts, and tailgates.i can't find the 2007 toyota model tundra listed in your database.this has been reported on the news, newspaper, and various internet sitesthank you steve ohman

I own a 2007 toyota tundra crewmax sr5 with the 5.7l v8.i have found that when y applyingthe parking brake therewasnot enough force to hold the truck in place on itsown when on a hill.i first noticed this when i applied the parking brake with the truck in drive , but not applying any pressure to the gas pedal, and the truck began to drive forward with very little resistance.i took the truck to the dealership, and they informed me that this was how the engineers designed it.they did agree to tighten it down further at my request, and when they tried to show me that it was fixed, it again began to drive forward and the only way to stop it was to apply the normal brake.i was then again told that it was only for assistance, and that i should not expect the parking brake to hold the truck in place on its own.i asked how it could assist when it couldn't even handle it on itsown, and was then informed that the truck has 381 hp and that's a lot of hp for the truck to stop, and when i said that it didn't have 381 hp at 600 rpms i was laughed at and told again that it wa sonly for assistance.

The parking brake does not hold the truck. Right from the day i drove it off the dealer lot it was weak. On steep hills it was questionable when pointing up the hill and would not hold pointing down. Had dealer look at it and dealer said it was fine. Since then (multiple times) it has gotten to the point that it is completely ineffectual. After adjustment it will hold on a slight hill but not a steep hill and never when in gear. At 32000 miles would not hold at all even after adjustment. So new parking brake shoes etc and it won't hold. Mechanic adjusted the brakes the most possible (so it won't drag and overheat) and does not hold. Note that pedal has been adjusted so that the parking brake pedal does not hit the floor. Only goes about 1/2 way down which is correct.i see this problem reported all over the internet but only one complaint in the nhtsa data base?

Bought a 2007 toyota tundra. Noticed around 23,450 miles that something was turning (spinning) and felt like it was coming through the driverside floor . Right underneath my feet. Brought it in toyota said they didn't find anything. Later heard noises on the left side of engine near left tire. Then shaking and vibrations followed. Around 60,000 miles transmission started slipping and clunking noises came from the engine. 65,000 miles started losing power. Fuel pump failure. Paid for a new fuel pump system $777.79. Turns out 2007 model has to replace whole system. No other tundra needs to. At 68,000 miles it got worse . Transmission diagnostic says transmission needs to be replaced. $4500. At 96,000 miles my truck in non operating. Toyota will not replace transmission. Even though a toyota operations manager states it is not normal for transmission to go out this soon at so little mileage. The average time is between 15-20 years with the high technology that cars are built with now a days. Is what he said to me. Older cars built years agotransmissions normally last around 5 years sometimes 10 if they were lucky. So supposedly our vehicles are built smarter now adays. I have so many problems i find that hard to believe.

Torque convertor rumbling when 1000-1500 rpm and 40-45mph.

As i slow down i feel a clunk in the transmission. A few seconds after i come to a complete stop, it feels as if someone bumps me in the rear, only there's no car behind me. They replaced the drive shaft and seal, but now the bump is even more pronounced. Also in the mornings the transmission will not change into 6th gear until i drive app. 1 mile at 60 mph. I am nearing the expiration of my warranty and i am concerned about this issue.

Thank you

The contact owns a 2007 toyota tundra.the contact stated while driving approximately 25 mph the rpm's increased to 800. The failure also occurred while at a complete stop. On a separate occasion while idling the vehicle slowly accelerated up an incline independently. The vehicle was not repaired.the manufacturer was notified of the failure.the approximate failure mileage was 23,500.

After trying to switch my truck into 4 wheel drive lo, the 4 wheel lo light & symbol would flash and never engage. I tried many times, making sure the vehicle was on a level surface, at a compete stop with emergency brake engaged, shifting from 2 wheel drive to 4 wheel hi and then place the vehicle in neutral, with my foot on the brake and tried to switch into 4 wheel lo....nothing, it will not engage. It will however shift back to 4 wheel hi and back to 2 wheel drive. Please keep in mind, i only use 4 wheel drive hi, during snow storms in nh and only use 4 wheel lo to drive up my driveway, in very deep snow amounts (16"-20" depths). After finding this very disappointing problem, i scheduled an appointment with our local toyota dealer. They had the vehicle for the day and was able to replicate the same problem. According to the tech and service manger, it was determined that the 4 wheel drive actuator has failed, thus requiring the replacement of the transfer case, actuator and a computer program? any ways this was a toyota service bulletin which referred this remedy fix and at the cost of (drum roll please) $5,200.00 are you kidding me! i'm an ex auto mechanic and perform a majority of my scheduled service and go to toyota for other maintenance repairs and or service, in fact my entire family vehicle history can be found at this dealership proving our due diligent vehicle up keep and loyalty. Now don't take this the wrong way, this nh toyota dealership has been great and help us with many other expensive repairs and i'm not blaming them. I point the blame at the toyota corporation, for not stepping up to make this repair as a priority, after all my family has owned (10) toyota vehicles over the past 20 years and all of them have reached the 150k - 180k mileswithout this problem occurring.

I tuck my tundra to the mechanic for check a noise when i'm driving an he told me the problem is a rear axle bearings and told me the toyota they built this truck with small bearing for the size of this truck , and they toyotaalready known. The cost for is $1500 . What can i do if they knew the problem so they needs to pay.

When coming to a stop, i feel a clunk and after coming to a complete stop, it feels like another vehicle bumps the rear bumper. This has happened since i bought the truck but toyota dealer says that's normal, nothing wrong. The problem seems to be getting worse.

When i have come to a complete stop, the car lunges ,rather it feels as if another vehicle has bumped me from behind.from day 1 almost they told me it is "normal" i have been driving 45 yrs. And this is not normal. This is a mfg. Defect that is probably so expensive to repair that they are leaving it to the owner to repair after the warranty runs out i have 32,000 mi. On it and it continuously does this on a regular basis.help!!!!!!

Turned the truck on and the check engine and traction control lights were both on, 4 lo and vsc off lights were both flashing, the truck sounded noticeably louder and now has a loss of power.codes show p2440.

Front differential went out at 48k miles.it cost me $2000 to replace.i read various blogs and this is a common problem on many tundras built between 2007-2013.i don't drive my truck very often and i treat it very gently.this was a huge expense bill for anybody to absorb.

The contact owns a 2007 toyota tundra. The contact stated that the vehicle was leaking transmission fluid. The contact stated that the abs warning light and stability control warning light illuminated while exceeding 75 mph. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who replaced the tailshaft housing seal twice however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was then taken to north bakersfield toyota (19651 industry pkwy dr, bakersfield, ca 93308, (661) 615-1100) to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the driveline needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The contact was informed that the vehicle was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 07v579000 (power train) due to the vehicle being a 2 wheel drive and not a 4 wheel drive vehicle. The approximate failure mileage was 70,000.

When the brake pedal was released, a banging noise was heard from the drive line of the vehicle. The failure recurred numerous times. The contact took the driveshaft parts to a driveshaft specialist where the u joint and carrier bearing were replaced. The vin was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 07v579000 (power train). The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 116,000.

2007 toyota tundra. While driving approximately 40 mph, the check engine, esc, and vsc warning indicators illuminated as i was entering the freeway then the vehicle started to lose power and would not accelerate more than 60mph, the truck went into a limp mode.i reset the ecm by disconnecting the battery but it came back.the approximate failure mileage was 71k.this issue is all over the internet and should be covered by emissions warranty.called the dealer and it is not covered by federal emissions warranty after 10yrs.not good!

Transmission mount broke (snapped).

Powertrain: driveline : driveshaft.vin check info shows 12 recalls on my vehicle.nhtsa shows 0 recalls.had to replace shaft assy due to fluid leaking at 13,000 miles.

When making turns there was a grinding/scrapping noise from rear wheel area.dealer confirmed worn rear wheel bearings requiring a toyota update kit to better prevent repeat failure.if multiple parts needed updated perhaps original items were not properly designed?

The contact owns a 2007 toyota tundra. When the vehicle was started, it entered into limp mode. The vehicle had no power and the transmission felt like it was dragging. All the warning indicators illuminated on the instrument panel. The contact's spouse connected a code reader to the vehicle and received failure reading "secondary air injector is stuck". The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or independent mechanic for diagnostic testing or repairs due to the diagnostic fees. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact of an updated warranty that was issued in 2017, which had expired. The contact also stated that the frame of the bed was rusted. The contact had not received any notifications from the manufacturer about the extended warranty and recall campaigns for the transmission and rust. The vehicle was serviced at toyota world of newton (66 hampton house rd, newton, nj 07860). The failure mileage was approximately 125,000.

Drive yolk went out and blew the rear transmission seal. Could have dropped the drive shaft and caused serious injury. Over 2000 dollars to repair. This truck has been maintained to the tee, all maintenance done on the dot! very well taken care of. The truck is with high mileage, 90,000. However, we were told at time sale it had a 100,000 mile power train warranty in which there was no worry there because if maintained it would last for 300,000 plus miles.now we are told thatis not so it was not 100,000 miles, it was only 60,000. The truck was very well maintained, all highway miles, drive 50 miles one way to work everyday on interstate, never taken off road, never pull anything. Well so much for honesty, because they basically told me to bad, so sad. I see toyota is recalling all the 2011 models for drive yolk failure, and i have seen quite a few complaints on various places online on the 2007 tundra?s drive shaft/yolk. They did recall the driveshafts for the 4x4 tundras in 2007, but not the 4 x 2?s. Can?t they see there is a problem here also?the truck always felt like something was bumping you when you stopped. We were just told it was normal for the tundra. So watch out folks with lower mileage. I bought a toyota when i was going to get another vehicle with a longer bumper to bumper warranty but thetoyota salesman talked us out of it with his 100,000 mile (lie) power train warranty and his 300,000 mile comments. Well, what do i do now? this is ridiculous that they will not stand behind there product or even offer a discount, just a sorry about your luck!

The contact owns a 2007 toyota tundra. The contact stated that the brakes were depressed and the vehicle lunged forward abnormally. The contact also stated that while driving 45 mph and depressing the accelerator, a loud banging noise was exhibited from the engine area as the vehicle decelerated independently. On a separate occasion while the vehicle was attached to a trailer, the vehicle failed to shift out of third gear on and then failed to shift out of fourth gear later. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and the manufacturer was contacted. The vehicle was not repaired and the vin was unavailable. The failure mileage was 9,000 and the current mileage was 92,000.

When stopping for a traffic light/stop sign from 40-50mph, the truck stops normally. After about 1.5 seconds when at a complete stop, the truck gives a kick. It is severe enough that it feels as if you had been rear ended. The whole truck shutters. I took it in to the dealership who gives the, "i can't duplicate it" spiels. My tranny fluid was low due to a leaking rear seal so they blamed it on that. They changed the aluminum front driveshaft as they stated it caused the leak. Problem never went away. Does not happen at any other time. Suspect the first gear clutch packs are releasing and re-engaging. Could be mechanical but it is also a possible problem with the transmission ecu.similar issue with the 2007-up camry which was determined to be the torque converter.

I had 2 occurrences of unintentional acceleration. Both events transpired as follows:1) applied brakes in preparation of starting engine and engaging transmission.2) started engine, put it in "drive" and engine suddenly accelerated and jumped forward.3) i immediately applied brakes with maximum effort to counter the acceleration.4) threw shifter into "neutral" while engine was maxing rpms, then i shut down engine.both events were close calls. If i had not had presence of mind i would have destroyedthe vehicle and property.vehicle was evaluated by local toyota dealer and they say they found no reason for the events.i contend that there is an issue and need to have it pursued.

The contact owns a 2007 toyota tundra. While driving various speeds, there was an abnormal vibration from the rear of the vehicle. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. A local dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that the vin was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 07v579000 (power train). The approximate failure mileage was 140,000. The vin was not available.

I have 101,489 on my i bought it new now i am experiencing transmission problems has the regular service on transmission now i have a big problem with shifting and jerkingwhat do i need to do..now

Recently while driving my 2007 toyota tundra, my driveshaft fell out of the slip yoke at the front of the truck behind the transmission.after a shuttering of the truck i finally stopped.luckily, i was only going 10 mph and the damage was limited to the requirement for my drive shaft to be replaced. This is an item identified by toyota as a problem, however, my vin was not included in the safety recall.it seems with limited mileage on the vehicle, a catastrophic failure of the drive train would not have taken place.updated 01/23/14*lj updated 01/23/14

The starting date and mileage above is approximate.a sensation of being rear-ended a kind of bump or clunk. Your stopped at an intersection and then clunk. Or, just before taking off from being stopped at an intersection "clunk". The frequency of this symptom started off as just once in a while when first noticed at around 36k miles. Now with 58,000 it happens on a regular basis, say, every 50 miles or so. I keep a mileage log for my business and began documenting when this occurs. I presented this issue to the dealer twice but have failed to replicate it for them to experience.

Complaints involving takata inflator "takata recall".problem with axle knockng when coming .to a stop; sounds like metal to metal hitting.

A new transmission was put in my 07 tundra in 2018 (do to improper service) worked well at that time. In 2019 tail shaft seal started to leak again was then replaced with a new seal geniune toyota seal has worked well for about 3k miles and has started to leak again it seems to only leak after once the truck gets warmed up and only when it is in motion on hwy or streets.i am seeing a lot of complaints online about this! will include links. I see recalls for 07 4wd for this problem but not for the 2wd why it sounds like the same problem exactly, and feel this could be a big safety problem leading to an accident, fire or death. Https://www.tundratalk.net/threads/transmission-tailshaft-seal-leak.105127/ https://www.kbb.com/toyota/tundra-double-cab/2007/recall/?mileage=96000https://www.carcomplaints.com/toyota/tundra/2007/drivetrain/power_train.shtml there is some type of driveline or seal problem here and it is clear it's not just the 2007 4wd it also affects the 2007 2wd tundra trucks as well being the transition is a close system and the consumer can't ad transition fluid when it's low this problem is unacceptable not to mention the many safety issues this could cause the driver and others on the road or hwy.

Truck has a clunk and bump coming from the drive train.when you let the foot off the brake the drive shaft jerks. Issue is getting worse. Arbitration says that toyota has fixed the problem. Still has the problem.

I only have 122,000 miles and both shift solenoids showed up causing vehicle to slow down in lower gear. I was on freeway and almost got rear ended. Computer parts faulty for working transmission

At about 90,000 miles,tail-shaft seal leaks, replaced seal and u-join, again at about 140,000. Gears feel like stuttering when step on accelerator.

My 2007 toyota tundra lunges forward very often. It does it when i'm coming to a stop. It will do it as i'm decelerating or even after i've come to a complete stop. I hit my wife's car in the rear bumper this week while i was following her. That is what has finally pushed me over the edge to make a complaint. Since i've done research on this problem it seems like everybody is running into the same issue with 2005 tundras and up. This needs to get fixed before somebody gets seriously injured.

The gas pedal stuck i put the vehicle in neutral and my foot on the brake. Now the truck is not driving right. It sounds like the transmission is messed up now.

The contact owns a 2007 toyota tundra.while the vehicle was parked, it automatically shifted from park into neutral on two occasions.during the first incident, the vehicle rolled into the front of another vehicle.during the second incident, the contact had to depress the brake pedal in order to stop the vehicle.the vin was unknown.the current mileage was 17,000 and failure mileage was 16,850.

After parking the truck for about an hour, i went back into the truck . As i started the truck the 4-wheel lo light appeared on the dash with an indicator beep.the problem with this is that the truck was in 2-wheel drive and never engaged in any 4-wheel operation.at the point of this i tried to put the truck in reverse and it was not there it was neutral, so then i shifted into drive and that was neutral also, i repeated this 4 or 5 times in disbelief.at that point iput the vehicle in parkandexited the vehicle not realizing that the vehicle would have no park.i then walked along side the truck and so it roll down my driveway and hit the garage.the truckonly rolled about20 feet approx, but caused about $5,000.00 in damage between the 2.i preceded to then call hoffman toyota and explain.the dealer was accommodating at first offeringa loaner vehicle while they ran tests.the service manager told me that in all his time in the business he never heard of such a thing, saying only operator error could cause this.my frustration level was rising but remained calm.along the way i was talking to toyota corp about my problem and had a case manager appointed to me.toyota corp had sent a field tech to the dealer for further review. His test also showed no vehicle error found and that no related cases of transmissions coming out of park.he also indicated that this would only be possible from operator error.so i now had to take responsibility for my house garage and truck repair.after picking up the vehicle i had a friend ask me if i looked into the ntsb.gov website, and i said no, we then proceeded to the site and it took approx. 10 seconds to see a related occurrence with a 2007 tundra with 16,000 miles and happened twice to the individual.i feel very uncomfortable parking this truck thinking this could happen again, it is clear that there is some type of electronic malfunction and what causes this to happen at will is unclear.

A friend and i were attempting to launch his jetski.i backed my truck down the boat ramp and my friend was on the jetski.my friend was having trouble getting the jetski to come off the trailer so, i put the truck into park and got out to shove the jetski off.as i got out i noticed the truck lunge and start to roll backwards.i attempted to reach my foot back in to hit the brake.by this time my shoes were wet and because of the position of my body, my foot slipped off of the brake pedal and smashed the gas pedal which caused truck to take off in reverse.as i was still halfway in and out of the truck the door drug me down the boat ramp and under the water with the truck.luckily i was able to get free and had no serious injuries.the truck however was fully submerged and the jetski trailer was broken in the process.note:the original transmission was changed out under a warranty claim at around 10,000 miles by the dealership.

2007 toyota tundra 6 speed transmission torque converter rumble strip and failure.

I own a 2007 toyota tundra - 4x4.several times i noticed that it had moved from where i parked it.it had moved from the spot that i had placed it and rolled backwards, down a fairly steep grade, a distance of around 20 feet. I tried several times to replicate the incident and discovered the following:when parked on a hill without the parking brake engaged the transmission would not "lock" in park while the truck was in 2 wheel drive. This condition can be replicated only when the truck is placed into park immediately after having the anti skid (traction control) respond to a slippery condition. The problem does not occur when the truck is placed into 4 wheel drive.the problem also does not occur if the automated anti skid response does not activate itself.the rolling does not always begin immediately. I have not yet tried to get the same responses while backing the truck up the hill in reverse. I reported this to the local toyota dealer in warren, ohio on tuesday, december 22, 2009.i am very concerned that this condition may cause serious injury or death to anyone who may find themselves behind the vehicle when it begins to roll.

The contact owns a 2007 toyota tundra. While driving 35 mph the contact heard a popping noise near the drive line. The contact took the vehicle to a dealer who replaced the transmission bearings.the repair did not remedy the failure. The contact took the vehicle back to the dealer who stated that there was nothing to repair.while driving the vehicle responded as if it were going to shift out of gear.the contact called the manufacturer and was told thatthere was nothing they could do if the check engine light does not come on. The contact was concerned since the vehicle could potentially break down.the failure mileage was 60,000.

I have a 2007 toyota tundra crewmax i feel a clunk in the transmission or rear end a few seconds after i come to a complete stop. It feels as if some other car has bumped me in the rear and there are no other vehicles around. On some occasions the thumpis much worse than other times. This started several months ago and i thought it may have had something to do with a sudden stop i made when an animal crossed the road in front of me. I haven't had my dealer check this yet but i now realize others are having the same problem so i will get it to the dealer soon. I have approximately 26,000 miles and close to warranty expiration.

As i slow down i feel a clunk in the transmission. A few seconds after i come to a complete stop, it feels as if someone bumps me in the rear, only there's no car behind me.. Also in the mornings the transmission will not change into 6th gear until i drive app. 1 mile .

2007 toyota tundra crewmax 5.7 has serious vibration from 30-40 mph.when you let up on accelerator the problem ceases.if the transmission changes gears the problem goes away.dealership has driven the truck and can reproduce the problem.dealership says they cannot fix problem until "fix" is known.

2007 tundra slipping out of gear to allow vehicle to roll.

The contact owns a 2007 toyota tundra. When the vehicle was parked the contact noticed two plastic pieces that surround the gear shift were bent and had crumbled which made it difficult to place the gear shift in the desired gear. The gear shift became caught in between the plastic. The contact had to push the plastic down in order to move the gear shift since the vehicle did not recognize when the gear shift was in the park position until the contact pushed the two plastic pieces downward. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The technicians stated that the two plastic cover pieces attached to the gear shift needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 63,000.

I feel a clunk in the transmission or rear end a few seconds after i come to a complete stop, it feels as if someone bumps me in the rear, only there's no car behind me. I complained about it at the dealer but they say they do not know how to fix it?now the bump is getting even more pronounced. Also in the mornings the transmission will not change into 5th or 6th gear until i drive app. 1 mile. I am nearing 25,000 miles and would like these issues fixed before the expiration of my warranty.

Bought my tundra in 07 . In 09 of jan. I took it to toyotastating after brakingit felt like being hit from behind.toyota replaced the driveshaft. In oct. Of 09 it started all over again.took it back to toyota they said they replaced it once & would not replace it again & that it would keep having this problem. I've emailed toyota , called customer care they said its a characteristic of the tundra. I only have 42000 miles on truck. If i would of known this i wouldn't have bought it. They told me that the lemon law was only 2 years & that wouldnt help. Where do i go from here.

The contact owns a 2007 toyota tundra. The contact stated after receiving a recall in regards to nhtsa campaign id number 07v579000 (power train:driveline:driveshaft) and taking the vehicle in for inspection, he wasadvised that his vehicle was not experiencing the failure. Within a few months, he noticed that when he drove at various speeds, there was a very violent shaking in the drive shaft. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer and they advised him that they were not going to assist him. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 85,000. The vin was unavailable.

The contact called the manufacturer who stated that the failure could be within the rear differential but there was no remedy at the time of the complaint. The manufacturer stated that they would notify the contact when a solution was available. The failure mileage was approximately 26,000. The current mileage was approximately 30,000.

I own a 2007 toyota tundra crewmax with black cloth interior, and its very hard to keep lint and hair out of the cloth. I'm an auto detailer and i have to constantly vacuum it to try and keep it clean. I wanted leather but to get that option is roughly another $6,000 more which is alot when the window sticker of my truck was already over $37,000. So im not to sure of how this works but this is a very well maintained truck very low miles and you cant do anything to keep lint or hair out. A friend of mine who also works with me owns an 2008 gmc sierra with black cloth and has the same problem, but in his case they changed the fabric for 2009 and he made a complaint with the lint problem and he's getting the changed fabric.so im hoping maybe there is something that can be done to correct this problem for the 2007-up tundra trucks.

While driving my 2007 tundra with only 62k miles, the anti-lock brake system (abs) controller failed, causing all four wheels (brakes) on my 2007 tundra to lock up in traffic almost causing an accident. Thankfully, i was on a country road with little traffic. The lockup occurred when i touched the brakes to slow down. Things would have been dramatically different if i had been on a freeway traveling at a higher speed. Dealer replacement cost estimate: $3700. Only cause given for the failure was "age".

The front of my vehicle gives a vibration and shakes real bad just happens when i'm driving my truck

While traveling at low speed, abs controller failed causing vehicle brakes to lock resulting in a sudden stop in traffic.

Almost uncontrollable vibration when applying brake pressure at speeds greater than 40 mph but the vibration is present at any speed. The problem felt like possibly warped rotors so the rotors and brake pads were replaced with new to no avail. The problem remains at any speed and is very much a safety concern.

The frame and truck bed have severe rust issues. The truck bed is shacking nowwhen driving. The frame was "sprayed" when i bought the car tothe dealer. I brought the car to toyota dealership on winchester road they have noticed a lot of rust on the frame and on the truck bed and advice me to rid of the car because they cannot do nothing about it even trade for another car. I had the truck inspected by my mechanic before i bought and the car seems to be ok. Late on another mechanic pointed out severe.toyota dealerships inspect the truck andsaid that it was unsafe to drive. I have to figure out how mysefl how to get a new frame and a new truck bed because i do not know what to do or who to contact. My mechanic advice me to contact nhtsa.

All four brakes were rendered almost inoperable due to corrosion of calipers, discs and mounts.discovered when brake pedal required considerable effort to stop vehicle.was told by maintenance manager at dealership that brakes could have failed at any time.seems to be an engineering problem (steel components that rust) effecting low-usage vehicles.

The contact owns a 2007 toyota tundra. While the vehicle was parked, the contact noticed that the subframe underneath the vehicle was corroded, even though an anti corroding agent had been applied to the vehicle. In addition, the brake pads, rotors, and calipers had to be replaced prematurely on multiple occasions. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and a dealer who both confirmed that the corrosion was past the point of repair and that a new subframe would be needed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 50.

The contact owns a 2007 toyota tundra. The contact stated that while replacing the brakes on the vehicle he noticed that the rear discs brakes were cracked. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for a diagnostic testing. The technician stated the rear discs brake needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure who did not offer any assistance since the vehicle was not included in any recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure and current mileage was 64,000.

Was on my way to a job-site on the freeway between 9am-10am appox. Going 65 miles an hour in the fast lane. There was a concrete wall on my left and a suv on the right. The suv started coming into my lane i put my brakes on suddenly to have the impact be at a slower speed but as i pushed down on them they fell to the floor so i was taken out at 65 miles an hour. The man was a rn nurse who pulled a graveyard shift and was dosing off. He admitted it was his fault and the cop said no report would be made because the law is no ambulances no report. I demanded a report and he said that is california's new law. Told toyota about the brakes falling to the floor. There answer is " that it was normal". They inspected the engine for damage. They never inspected the brakes.. I am now going through toyota corporation demanding brake inspection! truck went to the body shop to be repaired....

The contact owns a 2007 toyota tundra. The contact stated that while driving 55 mph, he attempted to engage the brakes but the vehicle failed to stop. The contact mentioned that the abs warning lamp, stability control warning lamp, brake warning lamp, and the engine warning lamp was illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileage was 154,930.

Was turning left at at an intersection had a green arrow when someone went through a red light . When i started to brake my brake fell to the floor with no brakes at all was in a head on collision. After the police came and talked with both of us, the other party admitted guilt so since there were no ambulances and the other party stated guilt (no police report was made). I brought the car into toyota and asked about the brake falling to the floor the next day . Their answer was" it was normal!" they checked the engine for damage . Then it went to mikes autobody for body damage. They never inspected the brakes, as they felt it was not an issue.

On saturday, march 13, 2010 around 4:30 to 5:00pm, my wife [xxx]exited nw 5th court from i95 to nw [xxx] miami, florida. As she was approaching the stop sign on [xxx] , she commenced to press the brakes.to her demise, after pushing the brake pedal to stop, the vehicle, a 2007 toyota tundra crew cab did not stop, instead, automatically increased speed to over 20 mph. She was forced to make a left turn on 71st street to avoid an accident or from crashing until a 1990 to 1994 green ford explorer going at speeds well over 50 mph on nw 5th court coming from the east to west, rammed/crashed into the front passenger side of the toyota tundra as my wife was making the left trying to evade traffic and make the tundra stop. His ford explorer completely totaled the tundra. I then arrived at the scene to find my wife with serious injuries and took her to the er. I was so glad to see she was alive and was able to carefully transport her to the hospital. If someone would have crashed into the driver side or a front end collision occurred, my wife would definitely have not survived. I feel, god was on her side that day and gave her a second chance at life. The man in the green ford explorer could have slowed down and stopped, but did not. Maybe, if he didn't crash into the tundra the way he did, my wife would not have survived. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

The contact owns a 2007 toyota tundra. The contact stated that his vehicle began to idle excessively and when it was in gear itlunged forward and backwards whenever the brakes were engaged. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who stated that there were no failures. The toyota manufacturer was called and informed the contact to take the vehicle back to the dealer so they could check the accelerator pedal. The contact stated that the failure was not related to the accelerator pedal instead if was the brake pedal. The contact also stated that the failure began to occur more frequently. The failure mileage was 51,194.

Brake lights on the dash board did not appear/ or no warning signs at all that brakes is not totally working and we almost had an accident.

7/2007 purchased 07 tundra w/maint plan&extended warranty9/2010 4342miles southcoast toyota-maintenance,we asked them to take a look atsurface rust. They noted it and said was due to salt air2/2012 6504miles southcoast toyota to perform brake service. Apparently brake pad had fallen off due to corrosion of calipers & pins and they refuse to service the truck because it would be too much to repair but refuse to even give us estimate. They said the corrosion has compromised the safety of the truck, but not covered under warranty. We were told that we did not drive the vehicle enough and that's why it is rusted so badly all over (truck was driven locally at least 3 or 4 times a week by elderly couple). We requested a copy of field reps report, but they said it is proprietary info we do not have access to.service manager rudely asked us to remove our truck from the dealership but we cannot drive it off because brakes not operating properly.were told to take the 5 yr old truck with 6500 miles to the junk yard. During 2010 maintenance when they were aware of corrosion, we should have been advised of possible brake failure or weakened structure due to rust that would occur in less than two years time. Instead elderly couple continued driving vehicle until unsafe to drive without being advised of how severe of condition the truck is. They have lived by the beach (2 miles from dealership) for 30 yrs & owned a few trucks, never rust so bad. Toyota is fortunate that no one was hurt driving this vehicle & they should do what they can to take this unsafe truck off the roads. Instead they deny any possibility that the corrosion may be a defect & is allowing this truck to possibly end up being driven since they are willing to release it. Its obvious this is not the 1st toyota known to have corrosion issue and though not perforation, the rust is an oversight by toyota.

I own a 2007 toyota tundra (purchased new on march 07) i noticed around june of 2009 that the vehicle vibrates when braking at speed between 40 to 50 miles. Took the truck to the dealer where i purchased it from on september 24, 2009 , the service advisor said that there are rust on the frond disks and the rear drums and it they need to resurface the front disks and rear drums. Truck then had only (15576 miles),i paid $418.12 for the repair, advisor said it is not covered by warranty.on feb. 2, 2010 i contacted the toyota consumer experience center in ca, they would not acknowledge there is an issue, and she gave me a case no.and said i should talk to the service manage at the dealer ( i did not contact him, because i felt i get no satisfaction).yesterday on march 10, 2010 there is a new report about rust issues on the 2007 tundra's; and its brakes. This happened to my truck especially after such a short period and only 15576 miles at the time i took to the dealer for repairs. I am now very concerned not only about the brakes that already started to rust after a short period, but also about brake lines, under carriage etc.

The contact applied the brakes and the vehicle did not stop.the vehicle skidded across the roadway while shaking violently and exhibiting an abnormal grinding noise. The contact was able to bring the vehicle to a stop by shifting into park. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer for diagnosis of the failure or repairs. The contac stated that the vehicle was previously repaired for the same failure and the dealer performed a front end alignment and rotated all four tires. The contact stated that the alignment caused premature wear of the tires. The vehicle was not further repaired. The vin was unavailable. The failure mileage was 30,000 and the current mileage was 30,150.

On july 12, 2009 i attempted to stop for a red light in my 2007 toyota tundra.no matter how hard i put on brakes, my vehicle continued to accelerate.the traffice report and insurance company documented my experience (of being unable to stop my truck).my truck was totaled.

2007 toyota tundra dc 5.7l limited.i was driving on the freeway and i went to pass another vehicle when i got into the next laneand another car changed lanes in front of me and i was forced to slam thebrakes.the abs system engaged and slowedvehicledown , but the truck felt like it was being pushed forward... By this time i had enough room in front of me, so i let off the brakes and the truck jumped like i was holding my foot on the gas. I almost hit the car in front of me again. I slammed on the y brakes again and the abs system kicked in,and the truck was still trying to accelerate, but i held the brake hard enough that i didn't hit the car in front of me.at this point i had to do something.i stuck the truck in neutral and tried to get to the side of the freeway. When i got stopped i had 3 lights on .,brake, vsc, and a picture of a car with 2crookedlines on it. I believed it was traction control.by now the truck was normal again but the lightswere on so i tookthe truck straight to the dealer .

The contact owns a 2007 toyota tundra. When he made a sudden stop while driving 60 mph on the highway, the rear tire locked and the vehicle spun around. Whenever the roads were wet or covered with ice he lost traction, the abs light illuminated and the vehicle shut down. The failure usually occurred when he started the vehicle. The vehicle also accelerated when he shifted into four wheel drive. He took the vehicle to the dealer three times for the failures. The dealer stated that since the diagnosis did not locate a failure code there was nothing wrong with the vehicle. The dealer did not attempt to repair or replace any parts related to the failure. The vin was not available. The failure mileage was 20,000. The current mileage was 34,000.

The recall on my 2007 toyota tundra for rusted frame was inspected by the dealer who said they would spray it with rust prohibitive.i was a mechanic for many years and if the frame is not stripped down and sandblasted to metal there is no guaranteed method to stop the rusting.toyota should be made to replace all the frames otherwise in a few years there will be more broken frames on the roads.i don't know if your office was involved in the class action suite but i am reasonable sure lawyers and judges no nothing of mechanics or engineering.i plan of keeping my truck for many more years and if the frame fails then i will getting legal counsel for a recourse to some entity be it government or commercial.if you all take your jobs seriously than this needs to be resolved soonest before toyotas are falling apart on the highways and killing people.they made the error and they should pay for it not us!!!!

Vehicle front end vibrates at speeds between 60 and 70 mph. There is sever steering wheel vibration. The front tires are showing wear the out side portion of the tire. The oem tires lasted 15,000 miles. I am now on a new set of tires that are exhibiting the same type of uneven tire wear.1. Took the car to the dealer a minimum of four times to review the situation.2. Had an independent automotive repair shop look at the problem.3. Both the dealer ship and the automotive repair shop agree there is a vibration issue. 4. The dealer claims the issue is with the tire balance. They have "road force balanced the tires". 5. This has not solved the issue and the steering wheel vibration continues to occur. At times the vibration is very sever and other times the vibration is non existent.

The paint is chipping on door edges and body for no reason that i can find.

Paint on roof oxidizing, in about 12 x 6inch area. Paint on the rest the vehicle in virtually flawless. The vehicle is washed frequently and waxed at least twice a year.

I have a 2007 toyota tundra crewmax. When driving on concrete freeways the bed of the truck bounces very very bad worse than any other truck i have ever ridden in. I sometimes feel unsafe like maybe its bouncing so much that it could be dangerous if i need to stop suddenly. I don't think the tires come off the ground but the vibration is so bad that talking becomes difficult.

2007 toyota tundra trucks windshield cracking more than seems normal.sixty thousand miles and seven times the windshield has chipped and now overnight one has run about twelve inches long.other chips i had fixed before running,is thinner glass the problem?

My 2007 toyota tundra has a very bad frame and under body rust issue (i have multiple pictures and videos i can provide). Last august, i found out on a toyota forum that there is a recall/class action settlement for this issue http://www.toyotaframesettlement.comi have contacted toyota coorporate on (or around) 08/03/2018 (incident: 180803-000275) for more information and asked where i should take my truck for inspection. I was told they can't help because my truck was built (of configured) for the canadian market. I contacted toyota canada (1-888-869-6828) and was told they can't help because i don't reside in canada and the frame settlement is only for residents https://www.clg.org/class-action/list-of-class-actions/toyota-rusty-frame-canadian-class-action .i have already spent over $1500 worth of brake cables, tensioner and other rusted parts. I was told, this truck is very unsafe to drive.i have tried everything and nobody is listening. This situation is causing me a lot of sleepless nights and stress. I'm planning to contact my lawyer next week to discuss out options if there is no resolution.i can provide a recording of all my conversations with toyota agents.thanks,

Truck bed rusting from underneath in 2 spots where attaching tothe frame undercarriage and bubbling on bed floor.is a known problem and toyota refuses to fix it because it is over 5 year warranty. Has 47000 miles on it.could become a safety factor if it comes completely loose from the frame.

On july 18 2019 my file tank strap rusted off. I noticed the tank hanging down when my g and i were on a dinner date. When i tried to repair it the bracket that bolts to the frame tore off due to rust. I had no way to fix it so i put up the tank with a ratchet strap and drove it only minimally. On april 15th 2020 my truck would not start and so after about a week or so i had a tow truck pick it up and bring it to a local shop. Before the shop got started on the vehicle they told me the frame is in really rough condition. This is news to me because i bought it from a local dealer, rhinelander honda to be exact, on november 27 2018. I haven't even had it a year and a half. They then proceed to tell me about a toyota frame recall/extended warranty that i may fall under. While the truck is in the shop i reached out to my local toyota dealer, rhinelander toyota, and they told me i was not able to get help because the warranty expired in march/may of 2019 for my truck. I told them i had just bought it and had not received any information about the frame recall. They stated they could not help me and gave me the number to the corporate office. I contacted and spoke with several people at the corporate office and they explained that they could not help me either. I have a hard time understanding why if toyota knows there is a significant enough rust/corrosion issue that they would replace frames for the truck year that my truck falls into but give it an expiration date and then not honor fixing the issues they know exist. I never received any letters or information about the issues with the frames and now my truck is still at the shop while they try to determine the best way to make it road worthy. This is not a poorly maintained truck. Other than the frame issues it is a very nice pickup. I have one picture from the mechanic so far and i will attach it.

My bed floor has a rust and toyota don't want to take it...please help me,i read they have issues on them models 2007 to 2011...

In 2018 i brought my 2007 to my dealer (acton toyota littleton mass.) to have an extended warranty check on the frame. They found it to be rusted enough to keep it several days for rust treatment . A year or so later my mechanic told me that i had a severe underbody rust problem. At this time toyota refused to take care of it because i was 2 weeks beyond the extended warranty. Toyota originally replaced a lot of the rusted frames and also treated others. I now have avehicle that has less than 80,000 miles and may be unsafe to drive. I feel that the rust protection was a temporary solution to pacify customers like myself .

The contact owns a 2007 toyota tundra. The contact stated that after inspecting under the vehicle, it was discovered that the metal straps that holds the fuel tank were hanging from the vehicle. In addition, the contact mentioned that the metal straps were corroded and fractured. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not of the failure. The failure mileage was 45,000.

Excessive frame corrosion. I brought the vehicle in for the corrosion recall in 2018.against my objection, they determined that my frame did not have to be replaced and they coated the frame without removing the rust.i recently brought the truck in for service at a location repair shop where he notified me that my fuel tank supports have completely rust off of the frame. He dropped the fuel tank and found that toyota had never dropped the tank and coated the cross members above the tank.the tank has been supported only by the filler hose, endangering my life and the life of my family.when i contacted toyota, their response was they did what they were supposed to do. Case #210622001888

The frame - both rails - is rusted thru at the front of the vehicle.you are able to put your finger right thru one of the rails and the other you could poke thru with a ball peen hammer.it is at the very end of the rails so there is no way to weld a piece on it.this was noted on 9/15/20 but cannot tell when it first started the rusting process - has been passing inspection every year.

The contact owns a 2007 toyota tundra. The contact pulled out the bed liner and noticed that the bed was rusted out. The dealer stated that the failure was unusual and referred the contact to the manufacturer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to file a complaint with nhtsa. The failure was not remedied. The failure mileage was 140,000. ..updated 10/04/16

I have a 2007 white tundra. My paint on the tundra is now dull. Fading and beginning to peal. The disappearance of the top coat began four years into owning the vehicle. I've complained several times only to be told it's my fault. I've seen several complaints about this same issue which tells me this is not an isolated issue and i'm not the only one experiencing this. The paint on the entire vehicle is matte; no shine. No wax will bring the shine back. Stains from toyota repair shop are consistently visible and will not wash out of the paint. Toyota doesn't seem to want to take ownership for the bad paint.

I own a 2007 toyota tundra and while stationary in my garage i noticed bubbling under my spray in bedliner where the bed contacts the frame cross rails front and back. I then crawled under the truck bed and saw a massive amount of rust on the underside of the bed. I took it fort's toyota of pekin and they said they could not help me and that i could call toyota customer service but didn't think it would help since i didn't notice it till after warranty was expired even though i've had every service done at their place since new. You would think the 27 point inspection they performed every time would have caught it before warranty expired since they had a tsb on the rust through problem.

The tailgate on my 2007 toyota tundra is coming apart at the seams. I have had the tailgate replaced once for the failure, and the new one is showing the same failure. Judging by the pictures on the internet this is a common problem with the toyota tailgates. It is just a matter of time before this design flaw causes injury to a person and or property damage. A simple internet search for toyota tailgate failures shows the results of such a failure. I do load my quad using the tailgate as a load bearing system ,reason for this is the ramp systems made for this task are designed to use a tailgate. I would like to see the tailgate brought up to the standards of toyotas competition.

The bed is rusting out all across the cross members.it started gradually, but now it's so bad i'm afraid the box could break loose and fly off the truck while going down the highway.toyota has a service bulletin on this very issue, but when i took it in they said it was too old and they would not cover it. What difference does age make? it was clearly a manufacturing defect that toyota even acknowledges, but because i was unaware of potential danger until after it was past the time they feel they are responsible, i am stuck with a vehicle that is unsafe and has a much lower resale value...updated 10/14/15updated 11/08/2017

I own a 2007 toyota tundra double cab limited 4x4. I started noticing rust developing in my truck box in march 2011. I reported it to toyota in canada as the vehicle had been imported from the usa into canada from the previous owner back in 2007. I was told that i would have to contact toyota usa for corrosion warranty. When i contacted toyota usa i was told that there was currently no recall for the issue i was experiencing and i would not be covered under corrosion warranty because my truck had been exported out of the usa. It was not until a few years later i was told by the local toyota dealership that there was a recall for this exact issue as well as an issue of frame rusting. I contacted toyota canada to see if my truck would be covered. I was told that once again this was an issue that would have to managed by toyota usa. I contacted toyota usa and was told that i was over the 5 year unlimited mileage as well my vehicle had been exported from the usa so either way it would have not been covered.

T-sb-0101-12. Toyota did not notify me of this tsb. I did not discover the issue until 2 months after my 60 month service date. The dealership forts toyota of pekin illinois would not help me. Contact at toyota corporate they told me because it was past my 60 months service they could not help me either. So now i'm left with a vehicle that is rusting apart that i paid over $30,000 for. I have been asking and calling for over 2 years, and now i was led to this website to file a complaint here just recently.

The contact owns a 2007 toyota tundra. While stationary, the passenger side overhead handle fractured and caused the contact to fall to the ground. The contact sustained injuries to the head and back. Medical attention was not received. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.

I had my 2007 57,800 mile tundra inspected at my toyota dealer when i was informed that the frame/under vehicle is "very rusty".upon inspection by myself the entire frame is rusting and flaking off.the service tech played stupid and referred me to corporate(800-331-4331). She also said it passed inspection and there are no holes in the frame. I guess that makes it all ok. Corporate informed me that my truck has no "warranty service enhancements" at this time.they are aware of the problem but can offer me no further assistance with this issue, at this time.i should not have severe rust issues with a garage kept 2007 tundra(or any vehicle) at 57,800 miles that i purchased new. I suspect the vehicle will have safety issues within the next 2 years due to the severe rusting of the frame.

Nut holding the driver's side heat duct was loose.this allowed the heat duct to fall down and block the driver's use of the brake pedal and the accelerator pedal. Luckily for me i was not on a busy street or driving at highway speed.this defect almost completely blocks the drivers use of the brake pedal.if this happens to someone on a crowded freeway at speed they could be seriously injured or killed in the accident.

The truck bed is rusting through causing flimsy bed mounting to the frame.has the potential to break through during vehicle operation resulting in an accident injuring or killing passengers or other drivers on the road.

2007 tundra in mint condition....frame undercoating recall was performed a year ago...dropped the spare tire to change a flat tire and was deeply concerned with the flaking rust on the frame crossmember.clearly, the coating was sprayed to cover without any prep work or rust removal first.i am seeking a second look...local body shop professional said this was terrible work and the frame life is very limited.

The contact owns a 2007 toyota tundra. After replacing the tires on the vehicle, the independent mechanic was unable to completely align the wheels due to severe rusting and corrosion of the suspension and subframe. The vehicle was not repaired. The local dealer was not notified. The manufacturer was informed of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The vin was invalid. The failure mileage was 55,000. I recently purchases a used 2007 toyota tundra double cab from a private party. I test drove the vehicle on ac pavement with no major issues, but upon purchasing and driving on my typical freeway commute traveling at normal speeds (55-70mph) it shakes violently. The shaking resonated at one point so violently that i lost control of the vehicle and had to drastically slow down to regain control. I am fearful of my safety and that of any passengers, especially my children. I have subsequently found forum information online that speaks to this "bed bounce" problem, and a relevant tsb from toyota. However, i cannot find an official tsb from toyota online or a genuine fix to the problem. Please help because i feel like i just bought a vehicle that is not safe to drive, and needless to say very angry that toyota has not addressed this problem in full.

There seems to be an excessive amount of rust on the frame of my truck.

Major bed rot at mounting brackets for bed frame toyota has a recall for this under some vin ranges and i have been told at first that my vin was not listed , then i was told i was out by mileage, then i was told there was not bulletin for this problem and the last time i question this problem i was told that because i didn't service my tundra at there dealer ship they could not help me. I am a honda master tech and take care of my truck better then most people do there own cars

The contact owns a 2007 toyota tundra. The contact stated that the truck bed was severely corroded in the area where it was bolted to the subframe of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be inspected. The contact was informed that the truck bed needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact was also concerned that the truck bed could separate from the subframe while the vehicle was being driven. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 132,000.

My 2007 toyota tundra sr5 has a very bad frame and under body rust issue (i have multiple pictures and videos i can provide).

I have very bad rust in the bed of my 07 dc. I bought the truck new. The rust was obscured by the toyota bed liner until i saw other owners posting and checked it out. I keep my truck in immaculate condition and it only has 57,000 miles. The rust is coming from underneath and is focused around the bolts that hold the bed to the frame. I am afraid that the bed will fall off of the truck! i am trying to bring awareness to this defect before it causes an accident. A call to the dealer and every post that i see says that toyota will not help. This is not an isolated issue and toyota should take responsibility for the poor workmanship and replace the defective parts before there are accidents. My frame is also rusted. Toyota dealer sprayed a solution on the frame but it is still rusting and is affecting this bed rust as well.

Toyota tundra rust and corrosion in truck bed. Coming from below. Spreading like cancer and this was posted on july of 2012 # tsb-0101-12. Rust has completely eaten through truck bed floor and there are several (8+) other spots. I'm now concerned with safety for my family. I first noticed this on 9/9/16 after removing my bed liner for first time to then have a spray liner in place. I then took to dealership and then called toyota. If they would've informed me of the tsb, i would have taken it in to have fixed as this one major hole is more than 5 years in the making. With the timing of this tsb that would've put me inside the 5 year corrosion warranty. You just never think to look under bed liner and now it's too late per toyota. Very unhappy

Who can i get to help me because my truck frame is rusted/corroded from salt andit is not safe. It pulls hard to the right.i went to holloway tire co.(706-647-7016 - [xxx]) in thomaston, ga. To get my front end aligned.they could not do it because the bolts they needed to loose on the lower control arm, in order to align it, were so rusted/corroded from salt that they could not get them loose. They even applied heat to the bolts to try and break them loose but that did not help. The rust/corrosion from salt had them frozen/locked.toyota refuses to honor their frame recall on my 2007 toyota tundra.the court ordered toyota to fix the problem in a class action settlement. See website below.http://www.toyotaframesettlement.com i live in georgia.i bought my truck 1 year ago. (sept. 2017) in conyers, ga.previous to that the 07 tundra spent 10 years in new york. It was a one owner previous to me.the frame is rusted/corroded from salt but toyota will not do anything about it because i do not live in a cold weather state.even though, toyota was told that the truck lived in a cold weather state from 2007 to 2017. (out of the 11 past years the truck lived in new york 10 of those years).i went to my local toyota dealer (butler toyota - 888-683-1348 ) in macon, ga. And that dealership representative [xxx] contacted toyota headquarters and even sent them pictures of my frame andthe dealership was told by toyota headquarterssince, i do not live in a cold weather state, toyota is not going to do anything about my truck.even though, toyota headquarters was told that out of the 11 past years 10 of those years (from 2007 to2017) the truck lived in new york (a cold weather state).i need help to get toyota to do the right thing and get my frame fixed because it is rusted and not safevin # [xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

Toyota tundra frame corroded. There is a baseball sized hole in my frame and toyota was notified of it and denied that is was their responsibility to repair issues related to improper anti corrosion treatment during manufacturing. They stated they had a campaign to resolve this issue but i was not notified by phone, fax, mail, email, or any other means.

My tailgate is cracking along the inside seem. This looks to be a common flaw judging by the toyota forums on the internet. I don't even have 4000 miles on my truck, and have only used it for light/medium duty. This is supposed to be a heavy duty truck and this looks to be a serious safety issue.

You already have other complaints about tailgate failure on 2007 toyota tundra trucks.i have read about them and seen the pictures. I have personally contacted toyota motors to get a safe weight maximum for this tailgate and they have twice refused to provide this information. In their latest correspondence they claim the tailgate has no rating as it is not a weight bearing part. This contradicts their own website where they sell a bed extender accessory that is used to increase the capacity by using the tailgate as a weight bearing part of the truck. I would appreciate any assistance you can provide to force toyota to reveal the safe tailgate weight limits.

1.my tailgate latch system is not working as expected and is flimsy.2. My tailgate is weak and small cracking at seams at side where not welded, and this is with my 215 lb. Frame stepping on it to get in bed. I wanted to purchase bed extender to carry longer objects as i have done in my traded in f 150 but tailgate cannot handle my weight much less object. I know others that load atv's and motorcycles with complete seam failure, so i don't dare put more weight on gate.gate can come off easy as i have noted in friends tundra while hauling with tailgate down. Toyota dealer blamed him for doing something we have been doing with our work trucks for over 10 years. The gate panel to access internal gate components is so thin that just by pressing with hand, i can bend it.you must understand that a tailgate needs to be more durable in its latching design, which my crewmax is not, and definitely not come apart at seams by someone sitting on it or bend and fail. There is a standard in which i as well as others are used to in tailgate strength as i had on 1999 f 150 without any issues and with three grown men sitting on gate with combined weight of over 650 lbs gate won't bend and frame didn't come apart at seams.i have a motorcycle that i now cannot use extender to haul due to this poor design. I am a first time toyota owner and i like my truck overall, but it is a truck and i expected to use it as such.i like my tundra very much, however, i believe any reasonable person would conclude that the tailgate is of poor design, and questionable strength for ?the truck that is changing it all?.we will see what toyota will do or not do about this. I have fixed latch at dealer temporary but i know there is tsb if it happens again. Tailgate quality in strength as well as some bed bounce issues is a whole different matter!voicing my concern before someone gets hurt.

My tundra was recalled for a frame inspection it was coated with a anti corrosion the dealer sprayed over the the brake lines that that were also corroded they were sprayed with the same undercoating when they should have been replaced i was on my way home this afternoon and my brake line burst from the corrosion causing a accident because of brake failure

I have a double cab limited edition have made complaints for over 10 months now about the terrible bed bounce problems. I bought it for my service business &pleasure. Toy is the most uncomfortable vehicle i have ever driven! the first thing people say is,what is the problem with the roads?kids hate it. My dog hates the truck! she can't get comfortable with the bed bounce. By the end of the day i am at driver fatigue stage! you can drive 60-70 but not for long! this truck feels every little bump nook and cranny on all roads. I tried going up to 80-90 miles an hour to remove the bounce, it's still there. Going slower like 50 mph or less doesn't do much. I'd rather drive a horse and buggy with solid wood wheels. I can't tell you how disappointing it is to drive my truck. Nobody likes being in this truck. I spoke with the service manager of toyota who drove one. His wife made him return his truck because of it's terrible ride and he agreed. Took my truck to gmc dealer to trade it, they have gotten wind of it's problem and are not willing to trade it in. Good luck is all they say. I have been told by toyota headquarters i'm having a bed bounce sensation, it's not the frame, it's not the suspension, put 10 bags of cement in the back, tow a load, this will give you a better ride! i can't believe i spend over 40,000! i took it to a specialist and was told it's the frame! not much can be done to fix the problems toyota is having. All i know is i have a truck i don't want and can't recoup my losses. How unsafe is this problem? why is the public the guinea pig this day in age when we are so advanced? i'll betthey never test drove the truck other than a test track or they did virtual testing only. If i came up with something new and sold it to my customers in the same fashion like toyota did to me. Then gave them a run around about what's really going on. I would be in court sued and out of business toyota needs to do something fast tired of them avoiding this problem.

The contact owns a 2007 toyota tundra. While driving approximately 30 mph over a pothole, an abnormal grinding noise emitted from the rear of the vehicle. After inspecting the vehicle, the contact observed that the skid plate detached from the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to a dealer. The technician diagnosed that the skid plate detached and new pop rivets needed to be installed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 70,000.

The contact owns a 2007 toyota tundra. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle began to shake violently while braking. The vehicle had not been repaired. The failure and current mileage was 108,000. Updated 7/10/13

My gas tank strap rotted off my frame causing my full gas tank to almost fall out.my frame rotted very bad also. I know there were recalls concerning this issue but i'm not sure if they were done to mine. I've only had the truck for three months what do i do?

"bed bounce". The complaint is that at speed of 50-65 & 70 mph, the 2007 tundra pick-up vibrates and bounces to the point of uncomfortable and what i feel is unsafe. Safety issue with infant, since can and will shake infant. Needs to be address by someone asap. Toyota claims to be working on it, but what is going to take for a fix, lemon law or class-action suit or even someone getting hurt.

Toyota corporation refers to this issue as "bed bounce". The complaint is that at speed of 50-65 & 70 mph, the 2007 tundra pick-up vibrates and bounces to the point of uncomfortable and what i feel is unsafe. It is as if all4-wheels are out of balance.now toyota corporation is admitting to me that thay are aware of this issue and are trying to come up with a fix, however its been 6 months and stiill no fix from toyota corporation.i have had the vehicle to them ( the dealer repair shops) two times to two different dealers and have an appoinment with toyota corporate engineers on november 1st 2007.i am also seeking legal counsel, however i do not know if this a individual lemon law issue or a class action problem, and i really do not care i just want toyota to give me my money back due to the fact it is a design issue and it will take a re-engineering of suspension to repair, and that is big deal that takes a long time to fix.can you help me ?fred curcio

The contact owns a 2007 toyota tundra.the contact stated that his vehicle vibrates while driving between 60-70 mph.the vehicle was taken to the dealer for a diagnosis on october 12, 2007, in which two wheels were rotated and balanced.the dealer's invoice did not specify whether the front or rear wheels were balanced.the vehicle was taken back to the dealer several times, because the vibration persists.in addition, both exterior mirrors have a sharp plastic edge and the contact's forehead was cut while vacuuming the vehicle.the dealer was unable to correct the vibration and felt that the contact being injured by the mirror edge was humorous.the manufacturer took a report, but did not offer any assistance.the current mileage was 17,800 and failure mileage was 2,400.updated 6/2/08

Unsafe bed bounce-tundra 2007.

2007 crewcab shakes rattles and vibrates so violently that it feels as though it may fall apart, the dashboard becomes a blur, it is absolutely unacceptable and after numerous call to toyota customer service, nothing has been done.

Noticed an excessive vibration at highway speeds in the steering wheel and seat. When drivers sunvisor was swung over to side window it shook like crazy, as a visual indication! dealership service department told me that toyota is aware of this but there is no fix for it. After making a complaint with management at the dealership they attempted to balance the tires and perform an alignment.this did not help.i was also told to put weight in the bed. This did not help. Shop foreman called this the "tundra bounce" after he drove it and confirmed my complaint.after three attempts with the dealership to fix the problem i have contacted toyota to start the arbitration process.

I have a 2007 toyota tundra double cab short bed truck.the truck has areoccuring resonating bounce when driving on concrete roads between 70 and 80 mph.the bounce is extremely uncomfortable and can become severe.only a dramatic change in speed will stop the bouncing. Several on line forums are calling this problem "bed bounce"

The contact owns a 2007 toyota tundra.the contact stated while driving 45 mph there was a roaring noise in the rear of the vehicle.there were no warning lights illuminated on the instrument panel. There were four new tires replaced on the vehicle; however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified but did not provide a remedy. The dealer diagnosed the failure as a faulty rear axle shaft bearing. The vehicle was not repaired.the failure mileage was 57,790.

The contact owns a 2007 toyota tundra 4x4.while driving 55 mph, the contact noticed a very noticeable bouncing sensation coming from the rear of the vehicle.the failure occurs when the speed exceeds 55 mph and began weeks after the vehicle was purchased brand new.the vehicle becomes disconnected with the road.the dealer stated that they were not aware of the situation and could not locate any failures; however, they suggested that the tires could have been the cause of the failure.the contact believed that the suspension caused the vehicle to bounce up and down violently.through research, he discovered several complaints regarding this issue.the vehicle has not been repaired.the failure and current mileages were 19,600.

My toyota tundra leaf springs broke on both sides i dont know when it happened but when i noticed it . It was rubbing my tires could of puntchermy tires and causedme to wreck.have looked on the internet and several people has been complaining about this problem .

The contact owns a 2007 toyota tundra. The contact stated that the rear driver side leaf spring was fractured. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who stated that the leaf spring needed to be repaired. The vehicle was repaired and the manufacturer was not notified. The approximate failure mileage was 60,000.

Vehicle shakes violently when driven on concrete highway.

The contact owns a 2007 toyota tundra.while driving between 45-70 mph, the vehicle bounces on bumpy pavement.the dealer stated that the vehicle was designed to carry heavy loads and, unless the vehicle has a heavy load, it will bounce.the failure mileage was 50 and current mileage was 1,114.

2007 toyota tundra double cab 4x2 5.7ltr v-8.vehicle has an extreme and dangerous "bed bounce" or vibration at all regular highway speeds on concrete type freeways with expansion joints.the vehicle becomes very unstable and feels as if control will be lost.it is completely unbearable. Dealer reports similar complaints from other 2007 toyota tundra owners.all 2007 tundra models exhibit this failure and it stems from a design flaw in the chassis/suspension.event began from the day the vehicle was driven off the dealership lot (11/25/07) and continues to date.toyota needs to address this serious matter and correct the issue.

Truck has extreme vibration, bounce and overall shake at freeway speeds as felt throughout the vehicle. This combined with the very light steeringand accelerator effort leads to a very unstable feeling of not being in control of the vehicle. It is difficult to maintain even and steady accelerator pressure and steering direction. Dealership has rotated and balanced tires and performed alignment, but has made zero difference. Dealership has made 3 attempts so far to fix. I have been told toyota is working on the issue.

I purchased a newly redesigned 2007 toyota tundra in september 2007.the truck experiences severe "bed bounce" every time i drive on new sections of concrete highway/interstate.it is so severe that i have left the tundra in the garage and been driving one of my other cars.toyota is aware of the problem and many (# unknown) have filed complaints with their customer service group.there are several tundra owner forums on the internet with details from owners.google :"tundra bed bounce" and you will see.

This truck jumps excessively and wobbles in a aggressive matter it creates an opportunity to loose control not to mention loose your appetite when i got this truck i was under the impression it was going to have on overall better ride, control and handling but yet it does not compare to last years model. I was told that toyota knows about this problem and is trying to look into how they are going to fix it all i can say is spread the word tell owners speak up and force them to fix this issue or pay the bad rap.

Bed bounce!!!

I just purchased an 07 toyota tundra limited 2wd pickup truck.while driving on any cement freeway (especially those in southern california (101 ventura)), i experienced a "bed bounce" that was so severe, i almost lost control of the vehicle.this loss of control occurred at speeds ranging from 60mph to 75mph.i contacted toyota regarding this problem and they confirmed it is a problem with the tundra trucks but are not working on any fixes.this answer is unacceptable.i am unable to drive this vehicle on "cement" freeways because of the lack of control. Toyota is unwilling to do anything about it.... I have no other option but to file this complaint with you.

1.excessive cab shake, wobble and jerkiness whenever driving over concrete paved roads at variety of speeds.2. Called dealer who suggested: tire pressure adjustment and adding 150 lbs of weight to truck bed. After implementing above, truck ride improved slightly but still unacceptable.

On several occasions while driving at highway speeds on concrete surface, i have experienced severe vehicle shaking on my new 2007 toyota tundra.upon investigating this i have noted many other owners experiencing this same problem and calling it tundra bed bounce.i have taken the vehicle to two different dealers.neither dealer would acknowledge a problem or offer any solutions.one of the dealers suggested i add about 200 pounds of weight to the bed of the truck to try to improve the ride.i contacted toyota customer experience center to complain of this problem and was given a case file number.their representative informed me that toyota has received many complaints but at this point in time they are doing nothing to correct this defect or problem.this is completely unacceptable and a potential safety hazard to anyone on the road.

The contact owns a 2007 toyota tundra.while driving approximately 70 mph, the vehicle vibrated excessively to the point where the accelerator pedal bounced up and down on the contact's foot.the failure was most noticeable while driving on freeways.the manufacturer stated that they were aware of the failure, but could not provide a solution.through research and professional consultations, the failure was determined to be the harmonic vibration caused by the expansion joints.the contact filed a formal complaint with the manufacturer.the failure mileage was 200 and current mileage was 209.

Excessive bouncing on freeways speeds 45-70 some worse than others (91freeway east around corona, ca )is good example of the bounce i have had trucks all my life so some bounce is understandable. When i took it to the dealer in march 07 they told me toyota was aware of the problem and was trying to figure out a solution in january 08 i contacted toyota through there web site and they replied they had no complaints about this problem. May be they fixed it since then on the 08 but this is more than a little bounce. Bouncing like it dose what's going to happen when i have to come to fast stop ?and the extra vibration can't be go fortunately i don,t have a infant. Please check into this but use one of the earlier 2007 like i said i have driven pickups all my life and can't tell you how bad the bouncing gets i will be happy to let you drive my truck .i am very disappointed that the dealer keep putting me off saying toyota is aware off the problem and then toyota saying they are unaware of the problems and have had no complaints.

2007 toyota tundra dual cab limited with 6' bed. Ride is fine except when driving at highway speeds on concrete highways with regularly-spaced expansion joints. Continuous problem. Truck resonates at this speed and results in choppy ride. Significant vibration throughout frame, not translated through steering wheel, and occurs regardless of load, although it is more pronounced when empty.

Front end vibration and shaking.

On the freeway, the front end of the truck bounces and shakes so badly as to be difficult to control.

Unresolved safety issues with 2007 toyota tundra:1. Towing mirrors vibrate, previously reported toyota case # 200704230738.mirrors are unusable above 40mph due to vibration.2. Bed bounce is so severe on some roads, particularly i-10 between indio and los angeles, that it is impossible to carry on a normal conversation. Dealer response to both issues has been they all do this, so they cannot make a fix until toyota comes up with a solution.internet reports prove that the dealer is correct: all tundras have these problems. Thus the problem is not with the dealer, but is indicative of first-year production problems.hopefully toyota can resolve this to avoid invoking lemon law protection.

There is an issue with the 2007 tundra suspension that causes a mechanical resonance on various concrete roads. This results in a "shaking", "bouncing", "wobbling" that is seemingly severe enough to cause injuries in young or elderly passengers at legal speed limits. Furthermore the wobbling could lead to accidents due to loss of control at higher speeds. I am certain that if this issue is not addressed, it will eventually lead to injury.the dealer has stated that this is "normal". However, using any good judgment at all, i would not consciously expose an infant passenger to this "normal" wobble.this occurs on roads that consist of concrete slabs. Southern california is an area with such highways. I have experienced this issue on i-5, i-405, i-110 to name a few.

The contact owns a 2007 toyota tundra.while driving 55 mph, particularly on certain concrete surfaces, the rear of the vehicle bounced violently and oscillated.toyota stated that they were aware of the failure, but there was currently no remedy available.the purchase date was unknown.the current mileage was 4,000 and failure mileage was 100.

The vehicle bounces horrible at speeds of 60-80mph on concrete freeways.as per dealer i have added 200# of added weight to the rear, to which the problem still occurred.the bouncing is very noticeable in the rear seats, so much so that i am not comfortable having my 2 year old daughter as a passenger.this is unacceptable since we purchased this as a family vehicle.i have inspected the tire pressure and have not had any noticeable effect on the bouncing.i feel the vehicle in unsafe on these roads and could very easily become unstable.

Bouncing up and down on the toyota tundra 2007, impossible to travel, not recommended by doctor to travel with pregnant woman!!!!!called toyota, they saying nothing they can do, not enough complains yet.

While traveling down the highway there is a very noticeable bounce coming from the back end and it doesn't matter what highway it is on it does it when ever you get over 65 mph.

Bed bounce is horrible on my 2007 tundra. Not only does it happen at speeds of 55-70 on the highway, but gets very shaky when slowing down to turn. It has made me very uncomfortable driving, because i am more concerned about the bed bounce than the other traffic around me.

2007 crewcab shakes rattles and vibrates so violently that it feels as though it may fall apart, the dashboard becomes a blur, it is absolutely unacceptable and after numerous call to toyota customer service, nothing has been done.

I have a 2007 tundra dc trd truck. I replaced the oem tires at 19500 miles (bfg rugged trails) with michelin ltx at2's march 2009. I now have 23,800 miles on the truck. Now anytime i go over any type of bump regardless of speed the bed bounces so bad that it vibrates up through the cab. The bed bounced before but not this bad. I feel it in the drivers seat. If i drive on a back dirt road the back end bounces all over the road. I brought this to the attention of the local dealership and they said they hadn't heard of this problem when i reported it in september of 2009. Now that the mechanic called toyota headquarters in ca, he said there were numerous complaints and that there was no fix for it. Service manager said it was the tires. Dealer recommended iadd weight in the bed, i added 5 sandbags, 300 lbs (winter is almost here) and it made no difference to the ride.i believe this could lead to a serious accident if not corrected.

The contact owns a 2007 toyota tundra. The contact stated that while driving approximately 10 mph, the vehicle made a loud rumbling noise from the rear passenger's side wheel bearing. The contact also stated that the bottom of the tailgate and the bed bolts were deteriorated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where the mechanic diagnosed that the wheel bearing needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 58,000.

Severe rear end oscillations/bouncing causing blurred vision on part of driver when traveling on concrete highways/freeways at any speed.

Bed bounces and shakes excessively. Toyota is aware of the defect but refuses to correct it. This condition can cause vehicle instability and driver fatigue, especially at highway speeds on concrete roadways.

The contact owns a 2007 toyota tundra.while driving 20-30 mph, the vehicle rode extremely bumpy.the dealer balanced the tires and stated that he needed to put more miles on the vehicle; however, the failure continued to occur.the contact took the vehicle to a tire shop and they stated that the wheels were damaged.the dealer inspected the vehicle and stated that the rear axles caused the failure.as of april 18, 2008, the dealer had not repaired the vehicle.the failure mileage was 30 and current mileage was 11,886.

The contact owns a 2007 toyota tundra.while driving 60-65 mph, he heard a chattering noise coming from the vehicle.he felt that the vehicle spring and shock absorbers caused the failure.the failure mileage was 20 and current mileage was 1,000.updated 02-14-08.the consumer stated there was a design flaw with the rear suspension springs.

We bought a new 2007 toyota tundra double cab in august.we discovered on certain freeways (concrete) the bed bounce is terrible.we have had several other trucks in the past and all of them have had a small amount of bed bounce, but this verhicle is unsafe.the entire truck bounces to the extent that my husband gets sick to his stomach after a 20 minute drive.i refuse to take myself or our grandchildren in this vehicle.one of these days there will be an accident due to the stability of this vehicle on the road.toyota dealer in our area refuses to drive more than a 5-10 mile radius on a test drive so they can not duplicate the problem we have mentioned.this saftey factor needs to be addressed.

On august 2007 i purchased a toyota tundra. It is suffering terrible bed bounce on the highway. So much bed bounce that i cannot have children in the vehicle because i fear for their lives. The body of the truck shakes like a tuning for jarring the entire cabin like an earthquake at approximately 70mph. It is unfortunate that toyota has not addressed these issues and recalled the vehicle for a fix. I have stopped driving the tundra and continued driving my other car.

The contact owns a 2007 toyota tundra.the contact stated that the vehicle was sold with p275/65/r18 tires and the spare tire was being sold as size p255/70/r18.the owner's manual stated that this was very dangerous.the dealer advised him to call the manufacturer; however, the manufacturer stated that the dealer would replace the tires.neither the dealer nor the manufacturer could provide assistance.there had been no failure to date.the current mileage was 900.

I have a 2007 tundra that has been modified by the dealer i.e. 3 inch lift they refuse to provide me the details of the lift on the truck even though i have repeatedly complained.i first thought that it was part of the recall, so i made a complaint to toyota.the manager of the auto repair portion of the dealership contacted and tried to explain to me that what was happening to the truck was not part of the recall.i then did research on my own after discussing the issue with their repair shop at stevens creek toyota.what is happening is the tire pressure monitoring system alarm light is coming on the dash and stays on.this happened three times since i bought the truck.i am upset that the manager told me this was normal.it is not, it also affects how the truck drives once the light comes on the dash.it affects the pedal which can stick and you loose control of the truck.i have large tires on my car to go with the lift. I have checked and they appear to have tpms valves but the dealership refuses to provide me proof. I am entitled by law to know what was done to my truck that affects how my car handles especially since the car was modified by the dealer not me. Updated 05/12/10.

The contact owns a 2007 toyota tundra. While starting the vehicle, the contact noticed that the tire warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer several times where it was diagnosed that the tpms receiver needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 84,591.

I hear a strange, almost slipping sound sometimes when i take off, or turn a corner, almost like i'm not getting traction. It doesn't happen all the time and never when i take it in..is this normal or sometime i should worry about?

My 2007 toyota tundra sr5 has a very bad frame and under body rust issue (i have multiple pictures and videos i can provide). Fuel tank strap rusted and broke tank was held on with the front strap sagging in the rear. Vehicle has 159000 miles. The vehicle was in motion on highway.

The amplifier for the ac/heat controls broke. I need it fixed as the truck is not usable in southeast arizona without ac. Toyota put the amp in this model behind the dash. This was wrong and they changed it fairly quickly. To repair this model requires an additional $1,200 of cost beyond that of the broken part. I spoke with toyota and have a file number. They won't do anything to help with this cost or an electronic work around. This is a real safety issue. The vehicle can be driven but it is a death trap and this is caused by poor engineering. Attach is the request i sent to toyota.

My check engine light came on and i was not able to accelerate beyond 40 mph. When i had the code read it came back as it was p2440 secondary air injection system switching valve stuck open.

While driving at high speeds on the interstate a flapping noise was heard. It diminished when driving slowly. I took the truck to the dealer and it was foundto have the rivets holding the gas tank shield in place broken off. I was told that they had rusted.

At start up of the vehicle, check engine light came on as well as the traction control light. Engine was very unresponsive. Acceleration was very slow and the vehicle was only able to reach 45 mphon the freeway during rush hour traffic. Took it the the dealer who said issue was p2440, stuck valve, air induction system failure.

Secondary air injection reaction pump error code. Present with the secondary air system reaction pump error code.bought it on november 28, 2016 and could have had it fix before the 10 years extended warranty expired on 2017, but i still have not received any information about the secondary air injection reaction pump issues from toyota.how do i go about getting the warranty.

I took my tundra in for the gas pedal recall repair, never had any issues prior. Ever since the "fix" was performed, i have an uncontrolled lurching when pulling away from a stop.

First and only time i used the supplied jack for my 2007 toyota tundra. I followed the directions as indicated in owners manual and was on level ground at time of this pitiful jack?s failure. The jack did not hold the weight of my truck when i had to remove a tire. As a result, the truck fell off of the jack and caused multiple damage to tire i used (thank god!!) as a jack stand. The rotor of rear passenger side was bent and the leaf springs of that passenger side shifted and are now not aligned properly.*dtconsumer stated vehicle was damage by the failed jack. Dealer did not offer to replace the jack and stated vehicle was past warranty.

My gas tank strap rotted off my frame causing my full gas tank to almost fall out.my frame rotted very bad also. I know there were recalls concerning this issue but i'm not sure if they were done to mine. I've only had the truck for three months what do i do?

The contact owns a 2007 toyota tundra. The contact was driving approximately 45 mph, the accelerator pedal was stuck. There was excessive force applied to the accelerator pedal, and the pedal released. The driver side floor mat was removed prior to the failure. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer. The vehicle was not repaired for the malfunction. The vin was not available. The failure mileage was 100. The current mileage was 32,000.

Have noted intermittent instances of surging acceleration from a stop, and at highway speeds under load. Occurs 5-10 times a week. Started at about 8k miles. Dealer "says" unable to duplicate. Frequency increasing as mileage increases. Received recall notice in mail last week. Went over 36,000 miles two weeks ago. Recall plus surging makes one question safety of tundra.

2007 toyota tundra involved in a rear-end collision in delaware where a 4 year old girl was killed.investigating officer has tried unsuccessfully to get toyota to come out and investigate whether the gas pedal was an issue as there were no skid marks and driver doesn't remember everything that happened.9/19/2011*cw

Water in the air induction pumps causing engine to shut down and have no power at speed.engine lights come on and truck is disabled or hobbled with low speed only.this has been documented as a common problem with tundra 2007-2008 owners.

The contact owns a 2007 toyota tundra.while driving approximately 35 mph on a sandy road, the accelerator pedal extended to the floor without assistance.suddenly, the vehicle accelerated aggressively and forcefully at 70 mph.when the brake pedal was depressed, there was no response.the contact shut off the ignition while the vehicle was in operation in order to come to a complete stop.the driver inspected the vehicle and started the ignition.the vehicle resumed to normal operation.the failure occurred without warning.the vehicle was taken to two different authorized dealers for inspection, but they could not duplicate the failures.the vin was unknown.the failure mileage was 28,400 and current mileage was 28,800.

The contact owns a 2007 toyota tundra. While driving approximately 55 mph, the contact depressed the accelerator pedal and the accelerator would not disengage. The vehicle began to accelerate rapidly and the contact depressed the brake pedal with both feet but the vehicle would not respond. The contact placed the vehicle in neutral and the vehicle came to a stop. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostics. The technicians stated they were unable to diagnose the failure because the black box in the vehicle would not have recorded the sudden acceleration unless a crash occurred. The vehicle was included in nhtsa campaign id numbers: 09v388000 (vehicle speed control:accelerator pedal) and nhtsa campaign id number: 10v017000 (vehicle speed control:accelerator pedal). The recall repairs were not performed at the contacts request. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 116,921.

I had my 2007 tundra into texas toyota for warranty work. They installed the "recall" fix. ( i never had any trouble before the "recall fix") since the "fix," i have had 1 acceleration when i took my foot off the accelerator, and many short burst while i was driving.

The contact owns a 2007 toyota tundra. The contact was stopped at a traffic stop when the vehicle became resistant to acceleration attempts.the vsc light illuminated on the instrument panel and the contact shut the engine off. He then restarted the vehicle and performed a self diagnostic. The failure codes indicated that the secondary air injection system had failed. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 67,000.

Left home to go to work.interstate is approximately 1/2 mile from house.while attempting to merge on freeway several dash warning lights appeared on my 2007 toyota tundra.truck stopped accelerating on the merge and i was almost rear ended by an eighteen wheeler.took my tundra to the dealer service department and was told i had an issue with my emission air induction pumps.service tech told me that the main computer put my truck into a "limp" mode thus preventing me to complete the acceleration.he also stated that he couldn't give me a reason why toyota has programmed the computer to fail into limp mode when the problem would not hurt the truck during normal acceleration.after researching the web, i discovered many 2007 to 2010 toyota tundra owners have experienced the same issue.restricting a vehicle to perform up to standards puts thedriver in a very dangerous situation.especially when the "limp" mode has no good reason other than to get the owner into the dealer service department!

2007 toyota tundra double cab accelerator stuck wide open.upon getting on an on ramp the toyota truck accelerator stuck wide open.i slammed my foot against the accelerator and brake trying to get it unstuck with no success.by the time i hit 90 mph i ended up putting the car in neutral at which time the engine ran all the way up to its top rpm while hitting the rev limiter.i then shut the vehicle off and coasted to a stop.the floor mat was not interfering and this was probably one of the most frightening experiences of my life.stranded along the highway i had no choice but to cautiously restart the vehicle. Restarting the vehicle resulted in the throttle returning to its normal position.this happened saturday afternoon.

The contact owns a 2007 toyota tundra. I had my tundra run away with me twice; both times it occurred when i went to passing gear while in cruise control. Prospect motors in jackson ca looked into the problem and said it was the floor mat. I argued with the service guy, but he wouldn't listen. I know for sure that during the first occurrence that the floor mat was secured. And i would bet that it wasn't the issue with the second incident. I use cruise control a lot but no longer leave it on when using passing gear. The first time incident, i was able to regain speed control by stomping on both the brake and gas petals. I was never able to regain speed control during the second incident. I had to stand on the brake pedal with both feet and pull against the steering wheel while trying to get off to the side of the road safely. Once off the road i was able to turn off the engine. We almost crashed into the oncoming traffic. Any information or help would be greatly appreciated. I have no faith in toyota's remedy for this problem. No official notification of pedal failure on my affective 2007 toyota tundra. I thought that companies were required by law to supply official notification sent to you for a safety recall. I also had another recall for driveshaft separation that this vin was also included, but was told by local dealer that it wasn't.

The contact owns a 2007 toyota tundra. While attempting to accelerate at approximately 40 mph on normal road conditions, the accelerator pedal became stuck.after repeated application she was able to release the accelerator pedal. The current mileage was 12,000.

The contact owns a 2007 toyota tundra. The contact was driving approximately 20 mph when he released pressure from the accelerator pedal and the vehicle continued to accelerate. The contact was unsure whether the accelerator pedal was stuck to the floor or not during the failure. The contact then applied pressure to the brake pedal but the vehicle continued to accelerate until being shifted into neutral. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where they were in the process of diagnosing the failure. The contact stated that the vehicle was previously repaired under nhtsa campaign id number: 10v017000 (vehicle speed control: accelerator pedal). The vehicle was not further repaired. The failure and current mileages were 23,000.

Toyota 2007 tundra twice accelerated uncontrollably due to a stuck accelerator on the factory floor mats, which are a very thick rubber and don't come with safety clips.mat was moved back but fear it may slide forward again.

On october 31st 2008 i was in an accident involving my 2007 toyota tundra. This accident occurred at 7:30am on i-20 just west of atlanta. I hit another vehicle in the rear and totaled my truck. At the time of the accident i felt like my truck was accelerating even while i was applying the brake. Until the reports starting appearing about the accelerator issue i really didn't think much about my accident. I feel like a stuck accelerator pedal caused my accident.

The contact owns a 2007 toyota tundra. The contact stated that the accelerator pedal began to stick while driving.the dealer diagnosed that the contacts vehicle had the same symptoms as the nhtsa campaign id number10v017000 (vehicle speed control accelerator pedal) recall. The vin was not a part of the recall; the failure was in the process of being repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure and current mileage was 62,000.

07 toyota tundra recall - received notice in october - still no solution from toyota.*cw

Christmas eve 2008 my wife and i were driving our 2007 toyota tundra from bel air maryland to ladson, sc. Just outside of colonial hts, va., i took the tundra out of cruise control because i was approaching a tractor trailer in front of me but the tundra kept accelerating toward the semi. I had to stand on the brake with both feet to slow the tundra down so i could move into the right lane and eventually stop it on the right shoulder of i95. I tried to call aaa but was unable to correctly dial my cell phone as i was still too excited due to the rush of adrenaline i had experienced.my wife and i thought the problem was related to the cruise control so once i calmed down we continued our drive to sc. The next morning i took the truck into the ladson or summerville toyata dealer who kept it that day and finally called to say nothing was wrong. At the time i still thought it was a cruise control issue but now i believe it was part of the toyota accelerator problem. I still have the truck and have not experienced another incident since the one in december 2008*cw

Toyota replaced my accelerator pedal back when they had cars that would unintentionally accelerate. Nothing had been proven wrong with my pedal, there were no symptoms. However, tundra was doing a nationwide recall in the name of safety concerns. When the car was returned to me, the pedal was just floppy and sensitive as could be. The car would just launch itself forward. Hitting bumps on the road caused the car to accelerate. This recall was done at 28k miles.now at 65k miles, with my family in the car. I was at a stop light and went to accelerate. There was no friction or pedal feel whatsoever, the car accelerated and thank god due to rain, instead of being propelled, i skid forward about a foot. There was a massive amount of sensitivity and pedal feel was gone. ***this on the supposed "fixed" pedal. I took the car to toyota dealership in gainesville, gatorland toyota where the vehicle was purchased. They tested the car and because they couldn't reproduce the problem, they stated they would do nothing about it. Not even replace the pedal again. There are plenty of toyota owners on the internet complaining that things are still wrong with the accelerator pedals and nothing is being done about it. Toyota has vehicles on the road that could potentially launch themselves and they are doing nothing about it. Toyota case number: [xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

I had my vehicle repaired based on the 2010 toyota recall notice i received about the accelerator pedal.the accelerator pedal now sometimes sticks in the half-open position and refuses to return on its own. I have used the toe of my foot to pull the pedal back to the non-accelaterating position.when the vehicle is stopped, if you touch the accelerator pedal, the rpms will increase and decrease on their own, and even if the vehicle is in park position.this does not occur every time you operate the vehicle, but randomly, and with no pattern.the accelerator pedal has 3/4 to 1 inch of "free play" before it responds and feeds gas to the engine.obviously, this could be dangerous, especially if someone besides myself was operating the vehicle.toyota inc does not seem to understand why their "fix" to your original recall about this does not work, or they have created an additional problem with their "fix" to the 2010 recall.

I was behind a car making a left turn with the left blinker clearly on, i had slowed to about 10 or 15 mph and was about 1 or 2 car lengths behind the car. I applied the brakes and the truck went to a full throttle condition... I glanced down to see if my foot was on the gas??? it was fully on the brake i then stood on the brake pedal but with the full throttle it continued forward until i hit the car and pushed it like a bulldozer. My truck continued about 20 before finally stopping. About 2 weeks before this incident i had a similar incident while on a down ramp with a car at least 20 car lengths in front of me. I applied the brake and it took off??? i questioned myself as to what had happened? it acts like the resume button is pressed for cruise control but i did not have cruise on either time. In reading toyotas description of the problem they say... Sticking and or hard to press on the pedal i have not had any of those problems.in talking with toyota i was asked what i thought the problem might be and i said i think the cruise control module might be involved. It has an input from the gas pedal, an input from the brake pedal and an output to the throttle positioner. It is my feeling that there are more problems than just a gas pedal issue.

He took the vehicle to two toyota dealers who stated that nothing was wrong with the vehicle; yet, the floor mat may have caused the vehicle to accelerate. He advised the dealers that he did not have the floor mat in his vehicle when the failure occurred. He took the vehicle to a gmc dealer who stated that it could be a computer failure. He also asked the dealer if he could trade the vehicle when he experienced the first failure. The dealer stated that they could not take the vehicle back. I own a 2007 toyota tundra and had the gas pedal fixed last week under the recall. Since the repair my gas pedal is super sensitive to pressure. The friction to push the pedal down is considerably less and causes the truck to lunge as i accelerate unevenly. It is most noticeable on a bumpy road when the pressure from my foot is impossible to maintain at an even pressure. I contacted the dealer and was told that thousands have been repaired and no one has ever complained about this. I have spent the last several hours searching the internet for similar stories and found a couple. In my opinion this is more serious than before the so called fix. I want this fixed and do not seem to be getting anywhere until more people come forward.

The physical pedal seems to stick when pressure is reduced (slowing or decelerating) but pops free once most of the pressure has been released. This has happened several times in the past year and a half. I did not return it to the dealer, instead i was able to remove the pedal assembly and apply several drops of wd40 to the pivot shaft and bushing. After working the pedal a few times and re-installing back into the vehicle, the pedal seemed to operate normally for up to 4 to 5 months before starting to stick once more. Note: the vehicle never accelerated on its own nor did the pedal not return to the idle position.

Please see my write-up on the toyota tundra forum website:http://www.tundratalk.net/forums/tundra-problems-dealer-service/30988-warning-accelerator-stuck.html.the web forum entry describes an unwanted acceleration incident that was caused by an unsecured aftermarket floor mat entrapping the accelerator pedal after application.*dsy

The contact owns a 2007 toyota tundra. The contact was driving approximately 25 mph when the vehicle abnormally accelerated. The contact stated his foot was not on the accelerator pedal when the failure occurred. He was unable to stop the vehicle and crashed into the driver side of another vehicle. A passenger sustained injuries to the neck, back and head. The vehicle sustained major front-end damage. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated he had encountered the failure at least six times prior to the crash and repairs were made to the vehicle under nhtsa campaign id number: 10v017000 (vehicle speed control: accelerator pedal) yet the failure persisted following repairs. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer after the recall work was performed and they could not locate the failure. The approximate failure and current mileage were 59,500.

The contact owns a 2007 toyota tundra. He received notification from toyota advising him that his vehicle was a part of the toyota accelerator pedal recall (see nhtsa campaign id number: 10v017000) in october of 2009. He has been in contact with his dealer from october 2009 to february 2010 to have the necessary recall repair performed. He was told that the parts were not available and they did not know when they would become available. He was also advised that they would contact him upon receiving the necessary parts. The contact is concerned that he had to wait so long to have the defect repaired since it could potentially cause a crash to occur. There were no failures to date. The current mileage was 22,500.

While driving at approx. 55mph the accelerator pedal on my 2007 toyota tundra suddenly dropped to the floor below my right foot.my truck accelerated to full throttle.the cruise control was not on.the accelerator was not stuck to the floor mat.the truck accelerated at a rapid pace and nearly ran into the rear of the vehicle in front of me on the roadway. I attempted to stop the vehicle by tapping on the brakes, then the accelerator and turning the cruise control button off even though the cruise was already off.nothing responded and the truck continued to accelerate to a dangerous speed. The accelerator was "floored" and would not move. I had to maneuver around the vehicle in front of me and several that passed going the opposite direction quickly.the truck was gaining speed at an incredibly rapid pace. I continued to brake the truck in an attempt to stop the vehicle and prevent loosing control. I then attempted to down-shift the transmission. This caused the engine to rev uncontrollably. The same happened when shifted into neutral in an attempt to turn the engine off with the key.the rpm's were revving so high that i feared the engine would blow up. I pulled my truck into a boat parking area on the roadside and slammed on the brakes while putting the truck into neutral and turning the engine key to off. The engine, brakes and transmission were all smoking from the stress and high rpm's. I had experienced a similar uncontrollable acceleration about six months prior (jan. 2008) to this one but was able to recover quickly by hitting the brakes and presumed that it was something wrong with the cruise control.toyota replaced the accelerator pedal sensor assy but would not say whether this was the cause of the uncontrollable acceleration. They said that it was possibly caused by the aftermarket floor mats that i purchased at the dealership.unfortunately, the pedal dropped from under my foot without my intervention.toyota has not responded to my calls.

The contact received a recall notification for nhtsa campaign number: 12v491000 (visibility). The vehicle was taken to west kendall toyota (13800 sw 137th ave, miami, fl 33186) approximately two years ago, but they refused to repair the vehicle due to the mileage of the vehicle, which exceeded the warranty. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and provided case number: 1810040023. The approximate failure mileage was 200,000.

2007 toyota tundra.consumer writes in regards to a recall he received for the power windows.the consumer stated each time a recall is issued, he has to drive 100 miles round trip tot he dealer.

The contact owns a 2007 toyota tundra. The contact had the vehicle inspected for routine maintenance. The dealer found that both spokes where busted.the dealerasked the contact if he hadan accident. The contact stated no he hadn't been in an accident. The dealer then called the manufacturer and informed them of the problem.the manufacturer no longer sold that model tire and stated that contact could get four new wheels. They let him chose from two different models at know cost to him. The vehicle was at the dealer at the time of the complaint. The new tires are being ordered. The contact feels that the manufacturer knew there was an failure with the wheels ,thats the reason they stopped selling them. The failure mileage was 25000 and the current mileage was 25000.the vin was not available.
