While coming to a complete stop the drivers side air bag inadvertently deployed.as a result the cab of the vehicle was filled with smoke and gas which made breathing difficult for the driver. The drive also sustained bruises.*nlm
Vehicle had a flat. Took jack out to fix flat tire. The jack was not able to lift vehicle high enough to change the tire. Was informed by the toyota dealership & manufacturer that the jack was the correct one for the t1000.
1995 toyota t100 4x4 sr5, fuel line leak do to rust where attach to frame rail, rust front stabilizer bar broke away from lower control arm.
1995 toyota t100 pickup truck with 60,000 miles. Fuel leak from metal lines from fuel pump above fuel tank. Fuel lines rusted out, causing leak.fuel leaked out overnight onto garage floor. Fortunately no fire resulted when the garage door opener was used before the fuel was spotted. Potentially dangerous or deadly situation especially if a garage has a heating unit or hot water heater with a pilot device. I am an ase certified master mechanic and view this as not a normal wear and tear problem. Local toyota dealer has seen this situation before and the repair is to remove the fuel tank and replace the fuel pump pickup line assembly reffered to as a "bracket kit" part #23206-65020. The flexible fuel lines (2) that screw togehter and attach to the solid metal fuel lines that failed were also so corroded at their connections that they could not be disassembled and had to be replaced also. I contacted toyota consumer affairs and opened a contact report and was reffered to my local dealer for assistance. The reference # at toyota consumer affairs is 200312020395. No assistance was given. The remark made to the local dealer from someone at consumer affairs at toyota was i must have damaged the lines myself. I have the old unit and can send it for examination. I would ask that you investigate this situation and determine if it warrants a recall of these vehicles for fire hazard. It may even extend to other models. As istated earlier this was not the first one of these that the local dealer had seen. They knew exactly what i needed when i called to inquire.
Gasoline odor from vehicle last two weeks. 1995 t100 4x4; 185k miles. Noticed gasoline pooled under vehicle beneath tank. Damaged paved driveway. Dealer quoted "common problem with fuel line corrosion above tank; not defective part; normal wear and tear; steel line corrodes; repair immediately due to fire hazard." vehicle awaiting repair; not being driven.
Clutch pedal bracket cracked.failure of bracket caused loss of ability to change gears or restart vehicle.
Front seat belts don't retract. Shoulder belt will loosen up and not stay snug against your body. Is this safe? if i get into an accident there is enough slack to where i can hit the dash. The law says i have to wear them. My state inspection says they have to retract. And toyota says they can sell me two new ones for over $300.
Power steering lines are rusted (tubing) to point one is losing fluid. Have had to add fluid. Will have to replace lines (4)before i lose steering .
