2001-2004 toyota tacoma frame rust campaign. Truck was purchased brand new on 2002/01/02 with 6 miles and i am the original owner. Toyota will not honor a solution to the known issue of the premature frame corrosion. I have spots where i was able to poke my finger thru the frame due to the extensive corrosion and chunks of rusty metal have fallen and are still falling off the frame everywhere. I was at my dealership for service after the campaign began and well before it ended and was never made aware of the issue or offered the coating solution that toyota came up with to cover up this problem. Since i did not have the required inspection and/or frame coating applied before the campaign expired, i am stuck with a $25k plus truck just over 11 years old that is unsafe and only worth salvage value. Several posts from disgruntled owners regarding this issue can be found on toyota truck forums all over the internet. I have tried every possible avenue to speak to someone at toyota about the issue, but only get the run around or completely shut down. Toyota tacoma.consumer writes in regards to vehicle tire side wall damages.the consumer stated when he went to use the spare tire, he discovered it had deep cuts in the side walls due to being cranked too tight. The tire was permanently damaged.

Consumer states that the floor mats are not the cause of the problem with toyota's accelerating out of control. *njthe consumer stated the same thing happened to her 3 times.
Consumer purchased vehicle via the internet and was advised that the dealership that he was purchasing vehicle from did not offer factory cruise control for the vehicle he was getting because it contained a manual transmission, consumer had cruise control and a bed liner installed, consumer started to notice a leak which left a small amount of water on the driver's floor mat which was thought to be caused by the installation of the cruise control, consumer took vehicle in to dealership to be inspected and was advised by the dealership they did all they could to stop the leak, consumer states the leak still remains, as consumer was driving he discovered that the cruise control was not functioning and by depressing the clutch pedal it did not abort the cruise operation, as consumer would depress clutch he could hear his motor race to a high rpm, consumer contacted dealership and they advised him they would install another cruise control at an additional cost, consumer believes that this is a product defect and the cost of a new cruise control should be shared.
