The airbag has never deployed and has never needed to.it simply stopped working.shouldn't this be a recall by toyota?as the feds require this system, shouldn't i receive assistance from them.or, can i have the airbag disengaged completely?thanks, john m. Peeples.

Engine gasket failure.

Head gasket failure caused by difference in expansion rates between the cast iron engine block, and the aluminum head. Aluminum expands 1.7 times faster than iron, causing the head gasket to tear or unwrap. Toyota issued a recall campaign and replaced headgasket and fluids free of charge.

Head gasket failed.

Consumer stated the head gasket began to leak red fluid, it was determined that both head gakskets were cracked, consumer has since retured to the dealer on 3 other occasions complaing about an engine noise, consumer then learned that the head gasket was never replaced, consumer finally had the gasket replaced and the noise became even louder, consumer was informed that after head gasket work is performed that potential for later damage was common.

Engine head gasket failed.

My vehicles enginebegan running rough a few days ago and we began trouble shooting to find the cause. We pulled the spark plugs and found rust and water on one plug. We cleaned the plug up and reinstalled it and ran the vehicle to test it. It ran smooth for about 10 minutes then began running rough again. We have determined that the head gasket has failed. We went on the internet and learned that toyota had issued a special service campaign for our vehicle back in 1999 and again in 2001. The last one had an expiration date of november 30, 2004. I purchased the vehicle in 2002 and was not aware of the service campaign until we found it on the internet yesterday. We notified toyota and they told us there was no recall or campaign for our vehicle. We have double checked the vin number with their campaign notice and it is a match. We have not repaired the vehicle as we feel that toyota should make it right due to no notification when the campaign was ongoing.

While the vehicle was parked an engine coolant leak developed due to a blown head gasket.

Head gasket defective.

Defective head gasket leads to engine failure - toyota will not address failure but will replace head gaskets.

Tapping noise inengine has been going on since 4-12-97.consumer found out that head gasket was blown, and other problems had been happening, toyotahas not been assisting consumer with any of thevehicles issues, a defective head gasket was not replaced as it should have been, and from one toyota dealer to the next has found more and more problems. Toyotastated they will not coverhead gasket problem regardless ofthe past problem. . consumer states since head gasket was done the exhaust studs were tightened due to the engine making noise, it sounds like valve rapping, thumbing noise over bumps at left floor area, rear springs were broken and noise from front end and also noise at idle. *yd

Truck engine shakes and gives a very poor performance.

Existing engine stalling problem is progressing. Having to keep vehicle idling high, and in neutral so it will not cut off. Dealer notified. Please provide mroe information.

When vehicle is stopped, in drive, and the air conditioner is on, the idle speed increases to above normal when the air conditioner compressor comes on.the higher idle speed causes the vehicle to lunge forward in an unsafe manner.

I complained of a rapping, tapping noise in engine on 8/26/97. Truck had 15877 miles on it. Was told nothing was wrong. I again complained of noise 1/29/98. Truck had 21851miles on it. Sounded like tapping noise coming from top of engine . Same noise as before. They said nothing was wrong. At 56500 miles tapping got slightly louder. I again complained of noise at beginning of december 2001. I was told they could hear it then (after warranty had expired!) they told me i hadnt changed my oil and it would cost 4400 dollars for a new short block. I knew i wasnt at fault. I removed engine so i could determine cause of noise. The problem is a defective crankshaft. It is not machined correctly. It is not drilled thru to allow the flow of oil thru the bearing. I showed them the crank. They admitted it was a factory defect. They will not put it in writing. Their may be thousands of other trucks whose owners are getting ripped off for the cost of a new engine. They will be told they didnt change their oil. Toyota will pocket alot of money. The owners will be completely unaware of this major scam. Toyota must admit in writing they were made aware of this. They must be held accountable. This is a serious safety hazard. The engine could fail in traffic causing severe accidents.

The engine makes a load popping noise while it is warming up and when it is cooling down after the engine has been shut off. I was told by the dealer that it is the charcoal canister. Brake light failed.

Fuel injection system designed to increase idle when air condition compressor is used, causing vehicle to suddenly surge when the compressor engages.

Since the date of purchase i smell gas on the oil stick indicating that fuel is in the crank case (confirmed by dealer). I was advised (by dealer)that it is not abnormal for vehicles mostly driven short distances, but i have driven long distances had oil changed and still have problem. Also, i have owned many vehicles, including toyota trucks, and haven't had this problem before.occasionally i have a strong smell of fuel for no apparent reason. I am trying to verify if this is indeed "normal" oil level does not appear to be affected.

Fuel gauge failed.

I own a 1996 toyota tacoma which has a recall for rust.the entire undercarriage is rusting out.i took it to my local toyota dealer for examination because my mechanic said it was in bad shape.the dealer said it was ok.a little while later the emergency brake mechanism on the bottom rusted out and broke.luckily it happened in my driveway so there was no accident or damage.the truck just rolled to a halt.if this happened on a hill or in a parking lot someone could have been injured.

My husbands 1996 tacoma was recalled due to rusting underneath and was dangerous to drive, but because we were in chapter 13 we were told to come and get the truck back from the dealer.we are now done this month with the chapter 13 and we have called toyota and they will not make good on the recall offer. My husband now has a truck that he cannot sale or trade because it is red tagged.

Transmission noisy in third gear, suspension pops on rough roads, and speedometer makes clicking noise.

The frame is rusted, in some areas, clear through. The brackets that hold suspension have rusted through. Everything that touches the frame has an excess amount of rust. The truck is parked because i'm afraid it will cause great bodily harm if the truck falls apart while driving.

My truckexperiences severe transmision noise when i apply brakes, came to a stop and then proceed.a noticeable clunking noise took place as if the transmission was broken.also my front tires wore excessively on the heels, and i was told by the dealer that the front end was misaligned. Ofcourse i paid for a front end alignment but it didnt help the vehicle from shaking at speeds of 55+mph.also , the front suspension shimmies, shakes, and rattles over minor road imperfections. I feel like the steering wheel is telling me this vehicle is unsafe. I have never had an accident, and my vehicle is still under warranty. Can someone offer help or advice? thomas j finley.( dot number: )

Transmission failed.

Owner states that his powertrain comes out of 4 wheel drive while driving,is very concerned about this problem.

Throttle valve cable broke during normal use of the truck.noticed a change in transmission function and the vehicle would shift too soon and was not able to speed up normally. The transmission would shift from first to third gear at 10mph and then to 4th gear at 30 mph.it would bypass 2nd gear so i had to shift it manually in order to acheive a speedy enough start to get on the freeway. Also occurred in my brothers 96 tacoma about 4 months ago and it seems to me that it is too much of a coincidence for it to be occurring in the same model and year truck almost at the same time.took it in for repair and the cable was rusted so it seems like it is exposed somewhere in the engine thus causing it to get weathered and break.repairs were over $300 dollars at dealership and i think it should have been covered under some warranty since it seems like that part should have had a housing to protect it from being weathered and rusted.i believe that many people are having to go through this same thing with this same model and year truck since it happened twice in the same family here.

When going into fifth gear stick shift becomes shaky and is difficult to drive.dealership has tried to fix the problem to no avail.

Clutch assembly replaced, also transmission disc assembley replaced due to loss of all gears except fourth.

Transmission clutch cylinder and clutch bushing failed.*et

The frame on the passager side of the truck has rusted out?will not pass state inspection.

I have a 1996 toyota tacoma that was part of a recall for a faulty frame. I received two letters informing me of this program. The first one was in 2009, and the second in 2010. I brought my truck in for its free check for frame corrosion. There was a graveyard of trucks like mine. I don't know if they could have fit another unsafe truck in the lot, they couldn't crush them fast enough. I went on my own and unfortunately i fear as a woman i was treated differently. I watched the mechanic bang my frame over and over, enough to put it out of alignment. My name was called and they informed me that my truck passed the test. Recommended me to fix a bunch of things, so after waiting all day for them to repair my truck and spend 2000 dollars that i didn't have, i was sent on my way. My truck did not feel safe to drive. Luckily i live on martha's vineyard where the highest speed limit is 45 mph. This was at falmouth toyota, after the second notice i went to hyannis toyota. They failed me, said there was no replacing the frame, no under carriage treatment, my truck was deemed unsafe to drive. I signed a contract stating that i was to receive 150% mint condition blue book value of my truck. I was looking at 9000.00, 10,000 dollars or maybe more if i put the money as a downpayment on a new toyota. I love my truck, but i have never felt safe in it. I was ready to goto sales and find a new truck. I had to wait for a phone call from cech, you know the big guy, toyota usa. And after that hand over my title and start the transaction. I went back a little over a week later to drop off my title and get the rental car they promised me. Then the door slammed in my face. I am the third owner of this vehicle. The first owner bought the truck in 1995, just before the new year. Now i am left with an unsafe truck that i cant inspect, sell or drive. $300.00 is all they are offering me now.

Our trucks frame is rusting away. I'm worried the truck is going to break into and kill my husband. I know there was a recall on the frame but i never received a recall notice. I have already talked to your people and they said they allowed 15 years extension on the rusted frame . We bought ours used years ago. We had no clue this was a problem until i found it today. I think u should made it good for us. We r poor and we cannot afford to get it fixed. It should b from the time we bought it. It is so bad my husband s fingers went through themetal. This is so unfair. I also found out there was a problem with the ball joints and that was a recall we have already spent hundreds of dollar getting it fixed. It's sad, u say u back up your product. How r we suppose to know when there is s recall . It's not fair, and if someone gets hurt or killed i will hold all of u responsible . We should have received a notice in the mail, but we received nothing. U know that the only automobiles we buy anymore is toyotas. Please consider helping my husband. We can't afford another and he is handicapped so i don't know what we r going to do. The main body frame on my otherwise very nice toyota tacoma just broke completely in two while driving down the street.after investigating how this could happen, i learned that toyota admitted that they manufactured and sold unsafe toyota's during the mid-90s.they claim to have fixed this by offering owners of these defective vehicles a buy-back option of 150% value for 15-years from the date the vehicle first sold.my complaint is that toyota never attempted to notify me that i had purchased an unsafe vehicle and i had no idea that there was a problem with this truck until the main frame broke.i had just invested $1,000 the same week in a new clutch and other needed repairs and when i notified toyota they told me that i would be responsible for any repairs because the 15-years already passed.since toyota already admitted with a buy-back program that these trucks were faulty and built with a low quality metal, how can they not be responsible when the vehicle prematurely fails?was my truck to suddenly become safe at 15-years old?i understand that no manufacturer warranties their vehicles forever, but since toyota admitted that they sold us junk, and the fact that they made no attempts to contact me as an owner of one of these pieces of junk, and that the vehicle's main frame snaps when the vehicle is in otherwise great condition, toyota should be responsible and continue to buy-back every vehicle that is included in the faulty manufacturing.when i called toyota, they treated me like dirt and even refused to have someone review my case and give me a call back.

I stopped at a gas station to investigate a vibration my truck had just started giving off. Found out that the frame has rusted completely through and has an inch of steel left holding it together. I called toyota and they will not accept any responsibility for the faulty steel. I bought this vehicle from a used car dealer who said the vehicle passed a missouri state inspection and am currently having to make payments on it and it can not be driven.

Truck is still in good running condition but the body is rusting off the frame.is there anything i can do... Please help me find a solution.

I own a 96 toyota tacoma and it has developed frame rot. Toyota will not do their buyback as i brought it for its second inspection 68 days beyond the 15 year buyback offer. The truck has been condemned and reported to carfax, toyota corporate and the ma rmv rendering this vehicle instantly unfit to drive and illegal to operate for safety issues..yet toyota denies any responsibility for this and the dealer service rep said, you can still take the truck, its yours after all. How can a safety recall for faulty frame construction involving poor quality steel and absence of rust inhibitor not be a total recall of all vehicles on list demanding buyout or frame replacement for the life of the vehicle? why was toyota granted a 15 year back-end to this responsibility? further, toyota performs the inspections and you are only allowed 1 inspection per year. I had manchester nh toyota inspect mine about 1 1/2 years ago and the tech inspecting commented, "..this one was one of the best he's seen yet." i discovered a broken left rear upper shock mount with a chunk of frame two weeks ago and arranged as early as possible to get the truck to toyota in falmouth, ma. Where they immediately condemned the truck determining it unsafe to drive, then informed me that i had exceeded the buyback term by 68 days past the 15 year old mark. Then they told me i could take the vehicle back because after all, it is still my truck. You've allowed toyota to conduct their own safety inspections and allowed them to back-end their responsibility for system-wide production deficiency? how is it they got to call that shot? talk about allowing the fox to guard the hen house! i bought a toyota at a much higher price than their competitors because of their advertised quality engineering. "eight out of ten corollas sold since 1985 are still on the road today" well, they failed miserably with the tacoma, proven by the huge number of trucks they've had to buy-out or perform a frame replacement.why?

The contact owns a 1996 toyota tacoma.the contact stated that while driving 45 mph, the rear of the frame folded in half and the steering became difficult. In addition, the rear end of the vehicle swayed from side to side.the vehicle was taken to a private mechanic where it was diagnosed that the entire frame was rusted and needed to be replaced.the vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that there was a manufacturer recall related to the failure but it was expired. The failure mileage was 120,000 and the current mileage was 200,000.

Contacted dealer , the service department stated they couldn't help me because the truck was out of warranty. Steve in service said he had no idea how much it would cost to repair my truck, he said he would transfer me to parts at which point we were disconnected. I contacted the dealer's parts department on my own and found that the part numbers had been changed from the originals whic denotes a change. Further investigation revealed that toyota issued a service bulletin ( #su00197) denoting a change of the rear leaf springsin relation to ride comfort. There were two other bulletins (#com0401k) relating to rear spring squeaks and (tc96018) relating to cracked frames. Why would the dealer that i purchased the vehicle from not know this or attempt to find it since it certianly is a saftey factor. The manufacturer's warranty is 36/month/36000 comprehensive and 5 year/60,000 miles on the powertrain.

The contact owns a 1996 toyota tacoma.the contact noticed that the rear frame had rotted.while driving 30 mph, the rear frame fell off the vehicle because it was rusted.the vehicle was taken to a local repair shop and they placed a piece of metal on the vehicle to hold it together temporarily.no permanent repairs were made and the vehicle remains parked.the vin, engine size, and number of cylinders were unknown.the current and failure mileages were 66,000.

The vehicle was inspected by the dealer and advised her that they could not assist her since the vehicle was no longer under warranty. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 259,000.

The contact owns a 1996 toyota tacoma. He stated that while driving 20 mph and attempting to make a left turn left the vehicle continued driving straight and he lost control of vehicle. He was able to pull over and had the vehicle towed to a dealer. The dealer stated that he needed to repaire the frame. There is a recall out for this vehicle where they will have to replace them but this vehicles frame can be repaired at the owners expense at $480.00 dollars. There will be repairs done to the vehicle . The failure mileage was 211000 and current mileage was 211800.

I own a 1996 toyota tacoma. I received a "limited service campaign" letter in the mail on july 18th 2011. The notice stated that tacoma model years 1996-2000 need to be inspected for frame rust and possible perforation. It was determined thatthe frames in a number of these vehicles may not have corrosion-resistant protection sufficient for area with high road salt use. This condition is un-related to normal surface rust commonly found on metallic surfaces after years of use. I live in northern illinois and with my vin, my truck certainly falls into this category. The notice, which was my first and only one received, came to my house 90 days past the 15 year in service date that toyota extended the campaign for. After speaking with toyota, i was able to have my truck inspected. The frame has severe rust but somehow managed to "pass" the perforation test. The results of the test were in my opinion marginal at best. I have been trying to have toyota send a factory representative to my local dealership to further inspect my truck frame. This has not happened as of yet (july 27th,2011) and toyota seems to be playing a back and forth game to get this done. Corporate toyota is well aware of this frame corrosion issue but is failing miserably by not standing behind the problem. During this campaign, toyota has replaced numerous frames and has "re-purchased" many trucks from consumers in the affected states. Once my truck was deemed "past 15 years from in service date", they are turning their backs on this issue. As stated before, my notice was not received until july 18th 2011, putting the truck literally 90 days past. I started trying to resolve this issue with toyota july 19th 2011. I will no longer allow my family to ride in this vehicle as i have no confidence that the frame will hold up. I'm filing this complaint to make sure toyota does what is right in this case and stand behind their product as they so often promote in their adds. Thank you.

There is an actual hole rusted through the structural frame of the truck.in december of 2010, while inside of the 15 year warranty period, toyota claimed there was no rust on the frame of the vehicle other than "surface rust."in september of 2011, after the 15 year warranty had expired, toyota claimed there was rust, corrosion, and an actual hole in the frame of the vehicle.toyota is claiming to have issued a voluntary recall for their rusted frames, but is passing the frames until they are just outside of their 15 year warranty period and then failing them.there is no excuse for having steel rust completely through on the frame of a vehicle that has been cared for and maintained.it is a safety hazard, and it is amazing to think that these vehicles could break in half while on the highway at high speed.toyota needs to step up and take responsibility for their subcontracters cutting corners during the manufacturing process.their self-imposed programs are not extensive enough, federal penalties need to be enacted.thank you.

I purchased a one owner 96 tacoma 4wd truck last month the owner said the truck had completed a frame recall for corrosion in nov of 2011. After purchasing the truck i had the truck maintenances at my local toyota dealer. The dealer said the frame has a large hole in it and it has happened since the frame had been treated per the recall. Now i am stuck with a truck that is unsafe to drive due to a shoddy recall job by toyota. I tried to rectify the issue with tmmi headquarters but they said after 15 years their frames are not guaranteed. Considering it has been less than 2 years since the truck had been treated i think they owe it to either replace the frame or purchase the truck per their agreement. In my opinion just spraying the truck with undercoating inadequately was just covering up the real problem which is the poor quality frames.

Premature frame deterioration. Engine is good and still gets 24 mpg, no oil burning. Rear frame over tires failed and had to be welded with new frame pieces. Both sides. About 5 months later, could not register vehicle due to additional, unrepairable frame failures. Repair shop said he has welded about 100 toyota tacoma trucks. Known to have premature failures in the chasis.

Toyota tacoma 1996 has extreme frame rust making vehicle unsafe.

Severly rusted frame.

Frame failure: the frame broke, between the leaf springs, during normal usage.after further inspection, the frame is rusting through in multiple places.toyota dealership told me 5 years ago that my truck didn't qualify for the toyota frame rust recall, that it was mostly northern (colder climate) states.

Vehicle taken in for recall undercoating for defective frame. Service advised frame perforated and would not do undercoating. Vehicle past 15-year warranty buy-back program (150% of bluebook) by about two days. No action available. 2014 continued use and attempted servicing. Refused due to frame deterioration. Contacted dealer for cost estimate of frame replacement. Advised by parts that frame was discontinued in 2006 (2006!) and no alternatives available. Vehicle now has 77500 miles on it and in good condition save for the defective frame that is irreparable.

Vehicle was purchased in november 2013, frame is cracked in the right rear and numerous holes are forming due to the widely known issue of improper corrosion preventative and poor manufacturer quality of materials used and design. Was told by tmc customer service that the "limited service bulletin" had expired and they are not responsible. Right rear spring is broken, i had it fixed once before at an indipendent repair shop. This is a known problem with toyotas rear springs i would like to know what the nhtsa is doing about it since it is a safety problem.

I have heard a noise in rear for some time.i discovered recently that the middle of right rear leaf spring was popped out and rubbing the shock.no used part can be found and new part very unaffordable considering 5000.00 left owing on 18000 for the vehicle.work for local tag office and have heard many similiar reports on same part.reports came from individuals, mechanics, and dealers.

It appearsto me that toyota has used a bad quality spring steel not only have my cracked but so have evreyone that i have talk to. The salvage yard has told me that as soon as they get some in that are not cracked they are sold fast, i was told by two difrent spring service companys in town that all the tacoma springs crack what is this am i the first person to report this the danger here is if the center leaf falls out like mine did it could stab the tires and cause one heck of a accident, i always loved my toyota but come on a cracked leaf spring and they want 375.00 each for them at a spring shop lord knows what toyotas getting.thank you mark gianopoulos.

While traveling at highway speed at 65 mph rear leaf springbroke. Vehicle taken to independent repair shop which informed consumer that both rear leaf springs had to be replaced because manufacturer had redesigned the rear leaf spring assembly. *ml

Spoke to local dealer technician. Hesaid that this dealership was taking care of this problem with goodwill repairs that included both parts and labor. I was charged $100 labor for the repairs by another dealership.i feel that if one dealership can do this then they all can. Two of the three spring leafs had broken completely.they were replaced with an updated set that included three main and one overload built right into the assembley.toyota obviously knows that they had a problem due to this updated part assy. That the dealer had right in stock and changed that day while i waited.

Rear leaf springs broke on both sides ofvehicle. Consumer has contacted the dealer. Please provide any further details.

Left & right rear leaf springs have broken in half. Dealer has admitted that they are having a problem with these. They agreed to split the cost with me 50-50. However, i feel there needs to be a recall on this item. I know of 3 other people that have had this same problem that live here in the salem/bloomington area. The failure date/milage i listed is incorect.. Since i have no idea when the springs actually broke... I noticed it while looking for a squeeking noise i was hearing. Thanks!

Right rear leaf spring snapped while driving, causing it to swing out of assembly, which could have gotten caught on brake line or caused a tire to blowout.

Right side rear leaf spring broke in half at 79,000 miles. Rodland toyota in everett, wa. Stated this is not covered under the extended warranty. The service department did not mention this as a known problem. No offers were extended to correct the defect. No mention was made when i purchased the truck 6 months ago (oct. 03). Truck was said to be in excellent condition.

Broken rear driver side leaf springs on 1996 toyota tacoma 4wd extended cab led to poor vehicular control and tire damage

Heard a metal-like rubbing sound approximately 3-4 weeks before noticing problem. Two rear leaf springs broke, which may have caused a tire blow out and may result in an accident.toyota is aware of the problem and has new design o rear leaf spring.

Rear leaf spring on passenger side (# 2 leaf) has cracked, leading to unpredictable rear suspesion behavior over bumps.this is a widely known problem.toyota is aware that there is a high failure rate on tacoma leaf springs, as are all parts and service personnel that i have spoken to.this is a very expensive repair for a known problem, toyota should be providing assistance/recall.

Noticed right rear wheel bounce, investigated noticed middle leaf protruding and rubbing on shock absorber.called toyota about problem, they indicated that they would not replace it, and i had to take it back to the dealer for repair at my expense.called dealer, dealer said both leaf springs should be replaced on left and right sides.repair cost would be around $1200.00.one other note, this truck was never used to carry large loads.

Rear leaf spring broke.dealer has been notified. Please provide additional information.

Leaf spring failed.

I recently noticed that both of my rear #2 leaf springs were broken in half and had shifted out of place. In trying to figuree out where the cheapest place to get the leaf springs would be i found out that this has been an "known problem" with the tacoma. One person even knew the prolem before i could even tell him about it.

The middle leaf spring on my truck broke in half.i bought replacement springs at lexington auto springs, the salesman told me that they have already replaced the rear springs on about 30 tacoma's (all 96 or 97 models) in the last couple of months.

Bad rear leaf springs, causing extreme instability.vehicle: 1996 toyota tacoma 4x4 regular cab, regular bed, 4cylinder.the middle rear leaf spring has a tendancy to break, even under light loads.on my truck, the driver's side broke at around 100,000 miles, the passenger sidebroke at about 110,000 miles.this created two problems:1) the rear of the truck tends to leave the ground on even small bumps.2) there is less weight towards the front of the vehicle, causing a serious degradation in steering control.my springs broke with no load, i heard it happen each time.i contacted a toyota dealershipexpecting there is some sort of recall on these springs, they said no, but there was a 'technical bulletin' for replacement of these springs.toyota would not pay for the replacement, except if under warranty.(my warranty expired at 100,000 miles)they wanted $345 each side, plus labor to have the problem fixed.there was no way i could afford it. Idrove around with for a year and a half with a broken leaf spring on each side, wondering when i would get in a crash. How many other tacoma's out there have this same problem? many!i did some research into fixing the problem myself.i called a local toyota repair shop (not the dealership), they stated that this is a major and very very common problem with 1996 tacoma's, that i was the fourth caller for that day alone asking about the springs.doing more research on the internet, i learned about countless cases of both leaf springs breaking, with and without a load.this needs to be a safety recall because the springs are prone to failure andthe vehicle is extremely unstable when they are broken.i have high quality digital photo's available, the web siteis still being developed http://tacomasprings.home.comcast.net email or call, i can send out the whole cd, i have more than 50 photos total, all taken at [email protected] you. Truck was rear ended and when brought in for repair of rear bumper major frame rust was found.

Recall info, can't sell without paperwork on frame and new company in our city won't or can't give me proof that frame is ok

Right rear frame excessive rust. Taken to mechanic to verify the safety issue.

Gas pedal sticks.

While pulling into a parking space, accelerator pedal stuck, the truck accelerated to a high speed, causing the driver to lose controland crash into 3 other vehicles. Even though driver's foot was heavy on the brake pedal the truck did not slow down. The accelerator pedal has always been hard. The body work in being taken care. Owner is waiting for a inspector from toyota to check the accelerator.

The throtle sticks badly. Often times i must stomp on the gas to get unstuck. I took it to the dealer, but they had no fix.
