The mph dosen't work, the air bags do not respond, the ac and heat do not work, rear brakes do not respond.

I got into my vehicle and turned the key. The airbag exploded in my face. The vehicle wasparked and completely still. The emergency brake was on and it was not in gear.the impact of the explosion caused mild injuries.i tried to work with toyota on this problem but they were unhelpful.i cut the airbag off and have continued to drive the vehicle. The horn will not work and of course i have no airbag protection. The vehicle had never been in a wreck at the time that the airbag deployed. I have records of my interaction with toyota that will prove that. The vehicle was in a wreck two years after the airbag exploded. I still own and drive the vehicle.

Takata recallat approximately 5:45 pm on 11/18/2016 airbag deployed for no reason while driving less than 10 mph and completing a right turn in a shopping center parking lot at the northwest corner of se indian street and se federal hwy in stuart,fl.it was like a gunshot inside the vehicle.the cab filled with smoke and residue and bruised my left arm that was holding the wheel

While driving in my neighborhood, the airbag on the steering wheel exploded. I was hit my chest and arm. The noise was so loud that ,i have not been able to get rid of ear ringing. My wife was also in the vehicle and the smoke from explosion caused her throat to become raw.

June 1, 2017, while driving straight about 40 mph on the highway, in 5 o'clock traffic, the airbag deployed without reason. I was not hurt and the incident did not cause an accident. The steering column shroud is original, the shroud came in two colors, oak and moon mist. It is unknown at this time what happened but i have done some research and from what it reads, the airbag sensor is located next to the engine and is exposed to the elements which caused it to malfunction.

Airbag did not deploy in 30 mile/hour crash,brakes-abs system-has extended response time in the system, causing delay.

Air bag deployed without warning and no impact.driver was driving down 2 lane road going roughly 25 mph.road surface was smooth and flat (no pot holes).it had just started raining.no other vehicles on the road.air bag deployed without impact to any other object and without warning.driver sustained injuries to head, arm, and chest.

The drivers airbag deployed while driving on a smooth flat city street / highway, no impact or accident involved.as a result the injuries sustained were bruises and burns to the forearms, face, chest, and neck.

While driving down a divided highway, the drivers side air bag deployed with no warning.luckily, no one was seriously injured.the driver had cuts and bruises (see photos).we immediately took the truck to the nearest toyota dealership in milledgeville, ga.the service manager said that there was nothing that they could do.he said that the "truck was old and probably just got hot".he offered to give me a razor knife to cut the airbag off of the steering wheel.i find this response appalling in light of the fact that it was apparently a manufacturers defect and not the result of anything that we had done.

While driving up the road my driver's airbag suddenly deployed for no reason.have read on the internet that this has happened to many others and that humidity could affect the sensors on the airbag system.this was a humid day, i was driving on a newly paved, smooth two lane road and had not struck anything nor had anything struck me. Fortunately, i was able to pull over and safely stop in spite of the cab being filled with the smoke from the airbag.i suffered burns on my chest and left arm and bruising on my left hand and arm.

While driving the air bag inadvertently deployed.please describe.

While being road tested by the service technician the drivers side air bag deployed for no apparent reason.

The contact owns a 1995 toyota t100. While driving various speeds, the vehicle veered to the left and right and all the warning lights illuminated. In addition, while driving various speeds, a loud cracking noise emitted from the steering relay. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed, but not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 232,000. ..updated 06/12/17 the consumer stated the vehicle was involved in a crash due to the power steering and steering relay failing.the consumer sustained injuries to the head, neck and back. *j's

The truck frame rubbed a hole on the fuel tank.*ph *nlm

Gas leaking from fuel line attached to the fuel pump assembly, out side of the gas tank.also gas tank had a leak from vibration or rubbing on gas tank straps.it will still leak when filled past a 1/2tank.to fix the above fuel line leak the metal lines were cut and replaced with high pressure rubber fuel hose.the gas tank leak has not been repaired.

Vehicle fuel lines had rusted and leaked gasoline necessitating replacement approx 1 year ago. Currently,as of 06/18/2012, there is "excessive rust for miles and age of car" (on entire frame and suspension components per mechanic exam). The lower control arms have holes caused by rust that couldaffect control of vehicle. This is similarto recall of same vintage toyota tacoma pickup trucks.

Full line rusted and leaked gasoline over driveway. Required replacement of fuel lines, brackets, gaskets and fuel tube. Fuel tank needed to be removed . Entire problem caused by rust. Damage due to gas leakage on macadam driveway.

Gear shift won't stay in park, jumps into reverse gear, causing vehicle to roll backwards.

The vehicle experienced a problem with the clutch assembly.

Pe-02-039-clutch pedal braket/firewall "consumer states while appliying the clutch pedal bracket broke and the braket damage the firewall. Dealer has been notified. Nlm

1995 toyota t100 has firewall and clutch bracket problems as noted in previous complaints and has caused financial, starting and repair issues.

The clutch pedal assembly/firewall fractured and made it difficult to shift the manual trans. The truck could not be placed in first gear without turning the engine off and taking all pressure off of the drivetrain. It became impossible to downshift gears when the vehicle was moving. I informed toyota of the problem and they denied there had ever been a problem even though they redesigned a backing plate where the clutch pedal assembly attaches to the firewall. I have installed the backing plate but the firewall remains cracked.dt

Consumer states clutch assembly had broken from the firewall causing the clutch not to engage properly.dealer replaced clutch bracket.

The failure of this bracket (fractured at top left corner)prevented complete disengagement of the engine from transmission, making stopping difficult, nearly caused an accident.in addition, this failure resulted in the inability to start the vehicle, as the safety start switch can no longer be operated by depressing the clutch pedal.as a temporary fix, i had to jump out the switch to use the vehicle until repairs could be made.the new bracket is different in design from the original, indicating that toyota recognizes the fault with the original unit.dt

When the vehicle was shifted into 5th gear, the clutch bracket broke and the transmission was unable to shift gears.

This bracket could only fail from defect in design or manufacture. It is the pivot point for the clutch pedal so if it breaks you cannot shift gears butwill remain in gear and not be able to go to neutral. It is my opinion that the manufacturer should replace this part if it ever fails as in this case it is a failure in design. I have never seen the equivalent part fail in any vehicle regardless of mileage or abuse. The toyota dealer stocks this item so failure can't be all that rare. This component is most likely used in toyota tundra pickups also. The dealer also stocks the bracket of similar function for the brake pedal! once more a part that should never fail. The probability of damage from an accident to this component would be small due to it's location mounted to the vehicle firewall andunder the dash. The bracket i removed has numerous stress cracks in it and is available for inspection.

Clutch cracked because of car linkage.contacted dealer.

Clutch pedal bracket metal cracked; resulting in clutch not able to disengage flywheel to shift gears.

Pushed clutch pedal in, heard popping sound. Clutch pedal bracket cracked.unable to shift gears and vehicle would not start.

The firewall flexes when i push in the clutch pedal making the truck difficult to shift.additionally, the start switch on the clutch pedal bracket doesn't engage with the application of normal pressure to the clutch pedal making it necessary for me to reach under the dash to start the engine.this is hazardous, because it requires i override a safety switch manually in order to start my vehicle.approximately 1.5 years ago, i had to replace a clutch and master cylinder caused by this poorly designed and supported clutch pedal.my firewall on the engine side of the clutch pedal is cracked and does not adequately support my clutch pedal bracket.

While drivingclutch pedal bracket and the firewallbroke.dealer notified. Consumer stated there were many complaints from other consumers, and has caused financial repair issues.

The plate that holds the clutch pedal to the firewall tore off, causing clutch not to engage into any gear, which almost resulted in an accident. Cause unknown.dealer cannot determine problem.please provide details.

Driveline failed, causing vehicle to vibrate.

How often does a cv boot need to be replaced?

Drive shaft too short, exposing spline, causing it to wear/rear of vehicle to vibrate.

1. Original d/s seatbelt assembly replaced after repeated episodes of belt locking up and not slacking out, and also not retracting properly. Replaced by dealer at no cost under "goodwill warranty". 2. Have had same problems w/replacement d/s seatbelt (locking up/not retracting), and also now buckle, since summer 2001. 15 complaints currently in nhtsa database for similar problems for t100 1993-1997.3. Re: nhtsa action #pe02039, my clutch pedal bracket failed june 1999 due to numerous stress fractures; i still have defective bracket for examination.

Seat belt unlatches by its self.

The seatbelts do not retract they have been replaces 2 times by the dealership and have let go once again this causes the seatbelts to get slammed in the doors and exposes the tag that says they must be replaced. It also causes extreme ware and tear on the seatbelt potentially causing a very dangerous situation.

Seat belt fails to retract fully when umbuckled(weak spring?). Dealer replace 3 times(warr) still bad. Hazard due to belt occasionally staying jammed in door compromising belt spool lockup function.other t100's have same problem.

The mph dosen't work, the air bags do not respond, the ac and heat do not work, rear brakes do not respond.

Airbag did not deploy in 30 mile/hour crash,brakes-abs system-has extended response time in the system, causing delay.

Front steering link on 1995 toyota t-100 breaks. Results in no steering.

Dt*:the contact stated a year ago the steering relay rod fractured.it was repaired before a recall was announced.a recall letter was received and because no invoice is available, the manufacturer will not reimburse the contact.the nhtsa recall # 05v389000 concerning the steering: relay: connecting.

Toyota will fix crack for approximately $1,000.00 or more ,but cannot guarantee work will hold because welding firewall will make it brittle, and eventually cause other cracks .numerous body shop owners have informed us that they never heard of firewalls on vehicles cracking ,only race cars because of the pressure put on the clutches of race cars.toyota refuses to help us or give us any direction in this matter.this vehicle is unsafe now and will always be unsafe to me, my family , any future owners or vehicles and pedestrians on the road.i am just looking to resolve this matter as soon as possible as i have 31/2 years of financing left on this vehicle, which i do not feel will ever be really safe to drive on the road.

The contact owns a 1995 toyota t100. The contact stated that while driving at an unknown speed, the contact heard a cracking sound.the contact noticed that the frame underneath the vehicle was rusted.the vehicle was not repaired and the manufacturer was notified.the failure mileage was 198,000.

The contact owns a 1995 toyota t100. The contact stated that the entire frame was corroded. The vehicle was taken to a local mechanic for routine maintenance where the mechanic confirmed the failure. The mechanic then advised the contact to notify an authorized dealer. The manufacturer was notified and stated that there were no recalls for the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 130,000.

1995 toyota t100 frame was rotted underneath. It was not reported even though it was regularly in a toyota dealership for service (joseph toyota of cincinnati). After being discovered, it was determined by a welder that the unsafe damaged parts could be welded and fixed and that the rust could be removed and completely recoated. This cost $1200.00.the toyota main office would not consider a buy back or any other option, even though it was manufactured at the same time and place as the frame rot tacomas.

Have had to replace lower arm on drivers side and passengers side needs replaced also. Frame is rusting out. Excessive rust for the year. Advised by mechanic that truck is unsafe to drive. Truck is basically rotting in half. Toyota is recalling other trucks due to same problem with the frames but not this truck. Have talked to 2 toyota dealers and advised there is nothing to be done on these trucks it only the ones that have been recalled the tacomas and now the sequoias. For the same issues.

A-arm suspension is very rusty with holes rusted through lower a-arms. Have been told by mechanics that it is not safe to drive without replacement. This has taken place over time. No breakage at this time.

The mechanic then advised the contact to notify an authorized dealer and inquire about possible recalls. The dealer was notified and stated that there were no recalls or warranties addressing the failure. The dealer also stated that all repairs would be made at the owner's expense. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 117,000.

Vehicle misaligned. *dsh

Rear leaf springs/shocks repalced to correct noise and rattling. However, after driving 20,000 miles with replacement parts, the rattling has returned.

When adjusting the suspension on the vehcile the adjustment bolt for the torsion bar stripped out and the suspension failed.vehicle has not been seen since then by dealer.

Rear leaf springs misaligned, causing noise. *dsh

When driving, rear springs switched back and forth.took vehicle to dealer, and dealer checked another vehicle and they had front and back clamps.

All tires have cracks in circumference.grooves. Fear total tread separation at speed. Goodyear will not give credit for all of these defective tires. (tiresize: 16 31?)( dot number:tire size: 16 31? )

I was driving at approx 70 mph.ambient temp approx 95 f. Tires were marginal in tread, but showed no sign of damage.tread separated, but tire remained intact.main ingredients of issue.speed, heat, tire age.i notified bridgestone/firestone that they should investgate this as people will think their tires are ok, based on a lay-persons visiual inspection, but there might be an underlying problem.unfortunately the tire company discarded the tire before i could get them to let me keep it. It was a classsic example of the problem affecting the wilderness, at, etc tires, includingthe fact that it stayed inflated.i suspect the problem is widespread, but has not yet reached the proportion of the current tire problem, or it has not caused catastrophic results due to the nature of the separation, or the construction of the vehicle's undercarriage and components (axles, height of car, etc.).it seems that b/f tires should at least notify customers to get all old tires checked, biut it does not seem fair to have them pay for recall of tiures that are beyond their expected life.hope this helps save a life, or at leasts saves someone some big hassles or big legal bills.cheers!tony( dot number: tire size: p215/75/15 )

While driving about 70 mphheard a popping noise then a flapping noise on the right front tire. Tire still had air, but tread was gone.firestone 721 725/75r15.
