1. Faulty tk airbags - i got a notice over mail about it.2. My side door opened during driving, i then found out there is a recall for sliding power doors (electric issue) - i contacted local toyota dealership, but they said they cannot handle it in the next 5 months as they have no parts.

Takata recall. Recall g0p serviced by servco toyota (this is not a complaint against servco; they did great work) 30 aug 2018 (receipt in hand).i am getting ready to ship my vehicle and the shipper needs the safercar printout (showing 0 recalls) which still reflects an open recall.just spoke with the toyota service desk and was told that it can take a year for the data to appear in the system.it will be a year in three days (30 aug 2019).if they just started the upload process today, i cannot ship my van in the next two weeks.how can i get this update expedited?how can i get my vin cleared?

Takata recall: our local dealer says the airbag fix will be "months from now" due to backordered parts. They say, in the meantime, do not sit in the front passenger seat. We use this car every day with kids needing transportation. The dealer timeframe is unacceptable. Are there any independent companies who can fix the airbag?

Takata recall.the toyota dealership says my wife's toyota is not subject to the airbag recall.your website- https://www.nhtsa.gov/recall-spotlight/takata-air-bags lists the vehicle as being subject to the recall.which is correct?does her car have an airbagsubject to recall or not?thanks.

I am curious to why the airbags did not deploy from an accident

The contact owns a 2013 toyota sienna. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign numbers: 18v024000 (air bags) and 16v858000 (structure); however, the parts needed for the repair were not available. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The vehicle was taken to thomas toyota (1437 n larkin ave, joliet, il 60435, (815) 744-2760) where it was confirmed that parts were not available. The manufacturer was not contacted. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.

Takata recallmy vehicle is on the airbag recall list. Nhtsa recall number is 16v858. Recall status is incomplete. I've contacted my dealer a number of times for airbag replacement but was told that there's no arrangement for my vehicle's airbag recall. I understand the deadline for claiming is 27nov2017 so i'm filing this complaint and look forward to airbag replacement asap.

I'm disappointed that alamo toyota in san antonio, tx did not mention or request to fix this recalled part when my vehicle was brought in in september 2017 for the recall on the power doors. Now, several months later i'm dealing with another recall waiting on parts to be ordered when this could have been fixed 4-6 months ago and this whole time myself and my family have been at risk with these recalled parts not being repaired.

Takata recalli went to the toyot dealer in cerritos ca (auto nation) yesterday, they said my car has no airbag recall problem in their system however i found my sienna has the airbag problem on website: https://www.autoairbagsettlement.com/en/checkvin

The passenger air bag light is sometimes off though an adult full size passenger is sitting on the seat

Passenger airbag fails to engage when passenger sits in passenger seat. Airbag indicator says the airbag is not engaged when someone sits in the passenger seat.

I received a letter from takata

When the vehicle was started, the srs airbag light came on. The vehicle was taken to the local toyota dealership the next morning to diagnose. However, no error codes were able to be retrieved from the obdii. They reset the computer to clear the light and advised that nothing could be done without an error code. They advised to take the vehicle down to an auto parts store immediately if the light came on again, in order to get an error code. A week later, the light came on again. As advised, the vehicle was taken down to an auto parts store immediately to have the code read. In order to read the code, the vehicle had to be turned off and then immediately turned back on. When the vehicle was turned back on, there was no error code present.

Hello, this e-mail is regarding a toyota sienna 2013. We've had it for 1 yr and a few mos. Yesterday night the sliding doors did not want to close we had to close it manually; than today the engine would not start. I am scared they will open or close when they are not needed. We did not any type of problems with it. What can we do about it? i use it daily to take and bring my 3 children to school. I am very concerned about this.i read that we should received a recall info in jan 2017 and we did not.please inform me of any important info on this.thank you for your attn, sienna costumer

I received a recall regarding the sliding doors on my toyota needing to be repaired due to an electricaldefect that could cause them to open while underway. This problem actually occurred on one occasion so i immediately contacted the dealer and brought my vehicle in for repair. Once i arrived i was told the repair could not be made as i had a bruno swing out handicapped seat installed on the passenger side for my wife. I was told the seat would have to be removed and the vehicle returned to its original condition before they would make the repair. I feel it is their defect and their problem and cannot afford to have the seat removed so they can remedytheir mistake.

This has now occurred twice and has been repaired multiple times.the 1st time happened a few weeks after being purchased.i was traveling approx 45-50mph, began breaking for a yellow lightwhen suddenly the woman in front of me stopped short of the light.to avoid hitting her i had to break firm but not slamming on the breaks.i stopped about a car length short of her and then felt an impact.i assumed i had been hit from behind by another driver but there was no car there.i pulled into a mall just ahead and looked behind the drivers seat to find the 2nd row seat, where 10 minutes before my daughter had been sitting, had collapsed forward, slid on the rails and slammed into the drivers seat.the seat was locked and unable to be moved in it's collapsed position.i suffered extreme whip lash and back pain.since i was in-route to toyota for more problems i went to the dealer who moved the seat back and claimed "my daughter must have played with it"after going to a new dealership and months of testing and back and forth toyota replicated the problem and said the rails needed to be replaced but not the seat.they also had me sign off that they could inspect the parts and tell me why it failed.this never happened.two weeks ago i was slowing on a steep twisting dirt road to stop before turning on a bridge and hear a sound like going up a roller coaster.click click click.i braced bc i knew what was happening and again my daughters seat slammed into mine.this time not only did the rails fail to stop the seat but it again collapsed forward and this time the foot rest also unlocked and lodged under my seat.luckily i did not have my daughter in the van this time either.2.5 years of repeated unsuccessful repairs to various parts (moon roof 8+)(radio/gps 5+)(squeaking/rattling rear seats 5+) liability report filed (4th) will contact a lawyer this time.

Sliding door and rear hatch opening operation is impeded. Had to have it disconnected and to date no remedy? i have a bad back and need the lift gate and doors to operate with a functioning sliding door..door was opening and not closing...tried to have them hook it back up but said they cannot do that...where is the remedy for this problem . This has been since october of 2016

Power doors stopped working and are stuck open. They stick open with my kids in the back and i was driving home. I've owned this car for 44 days. Moyer just quit door is stuck halfway. Thank god we got home safe!!! less then 90000 miles and the car is unusable. Door became stuck when we pulled over on side of the road to adjust my sons car seat( buckles where not right enough) when i went to close it the door wouldn't budge. We where on a busy street. My husband them got out and had to force the door into s semi closed position and stayed in the back holding it until we could get to a side road. I then called for a ride.

After driving the vehicle to the gas station and filling up with gas, the van would not restart.when the start button was pressed, it would just click, after several attempts it was determined that at least the battery was dead.this all happened in 5 degree weather.in an attempt to open the drivers side rear, unlocked sliding power door, it would not open.my wife was unable to open the door to get our 18 month old out of a cold car.in a panic, she had to climb over the center console from the drivers seat to pull him out, and then climb back over to exit the vehicle.when the van was finally jump started and brought to the dealer, they replaced the battery, and just shrugged off the fact that the door wouldn't open when the battery is dead.this is a huge safety concern for us.if we happen to be in an accident and the battery gets disconnected, we would nt be able to quickly and safely remove our child from the van.

Fuel filler door upper hinge is broken.this prevents the electrically operated sliding side door from opening thus causing entrapment for passengers in the rear seating areas. The sliding door sometime will not open when parked or standing because of the broken fuel filler door upper hinge

The power sliding side doors pop open on their own.this happens when the vehicle is stationary and when driving. No injuries to report. We have taken the vehicle to our local toyota dealer who put the doors on manual but now the door are very hard to open and close and my children cannot do it. This started in nov 2016 and the issue remains. I feel that the remedy is taking an unreasonably long time and would like to voice my complaint.

2013 toyota siennarecall dated 11/16. I purchased it in 6/17 from a toyota dealership with the safety issue unresolved( vehicle power sliding door).why is vehicle allowed to be sold with documented safety problem.

Smelled burning or smoldering inside of vehicle while driving. After stopping to inspect, noticed that a wire for sliding electric door was just hanging (drivers side exterior of rear quarter panel). The wire was burned and was just hanging there. The electric sliding door would not work afterwards. Took siena to toyota dealership and was advised that there is some type of warranty affecting the doors but they didn't know what it involved. They advised no further information was available. Toyota did not advise of any known dangers known to them if any.

Our front right door sensor provides false readings. The door sensor states that the door is open when it is not. The door sensor goes on and off. Even though the door is sealed shut, it is extremely annoying because of the of noise and visual alert that states that the door is supposedly not shut.

The contact owns a 2013 toyota sienna. After starting the vehicle, it independently accelerated. In addition, all the warning indicators illuminated, the steering wheel seized, and the brakes did not function. The vehicle was able to stop after the emergency brake was applied. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where the failure could not be replicated. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 72,000.

The van started fine this morning.drove the kids to school.the van started again just fine.made a stop on the way back home, and the van would not start.passerby gave a jump and it started after about 10 minutes of charging.the battery had completely drained...even the radio wasn't working.

My 2013 toyota sienna has a recall and a problem with the side passenger slidding door toyota dealer ship and findlay in henderson nevada wont fix it..i called the manu9the wont fix it the want me to pay becouse the motor is not listed ..i'm scared that the door will open while driving and that it may kill my son please i need help thank you ..

Brakes locked up while trying to leave a parking lot.many warning lights came on including vsc, abs, and traction control and the computer said needs immediate service. The toyota service manager said they've never seen this and that the actuator needs replaced.i've noted that there are 2 other instances of this issue and hope that this safety issue will be investigated. The nhtsa campaign number: 14v054000 that discusses: "an electrical component within the actuator may experience an increased resistance resulting in the illumination of various warning lights, including those for the vehicle stability control (vsc) system, antilock brake system (abs), and traction control system." i've had this happen three times over the past four months. I've taken it to the shop and they've reset the code and could not find the issue. It keeps coming back. I believe the 14v054000 needs to be expanded to include my vehicle

Having a problem with toyota sienna tires, every 30k, i have to change new tires for my sienna van. Tires won't last for long even though am doing a regular wheel alignment every 5000 miles and also water pump had to replaced with new water pump. It's cost us a lot. I did lot of repairs on my sienna van, i have almost spent $10,000 for repairs work and total mileage on my van is not yet reached 90k

Takata recall

My 2013 toyota sienna won't stop when i come to a stop sign.it has happened 4x now.i need to fight to keep the brake pressed, and the engine revs way up.if there was someone ahead of me, i would have hit them.i shift it into neutral and it revs extremely loud.this last time, with my 3 year old in back seat said, ' daddy i scared, i don't want to be in here anymore...'. The noise of the engine reving scared him.i'm going to trade this van in.it only has 38000 miles on it.i'm reporting this, so that when someone gets hurt or killed by this van - the driver can try to get toyota to take ownership of the outcome.i'm the second owner.maybe this is the reason the first owner got rid of it...

The contact owned a 2013 toyota seinna. While operating the vehicle, smoke appeared under the panel of the vehicle. After stopping, flames appeared underneath the vehicle. The fire department was called to the scene to extinguish the flames. The cause of the fire was not determined. The vehicle was destroyed. A police report was filed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 40,000.

The contact owns a 2013 toyota sienna. While performing an oil change on the vehicle, the mechanic noticed that the head gasket was leaking. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the head gasket needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 68,000.

From the onset of purchase of a 2013 toyota sienna xle, the air conditioner has emitted a foul odor that smells like mold. Nor will the a/c system adequately cool the vehicle until being driven sometimes as long as ten miles, if then. We have been told to turn off the a/c before arriving home to eliminate the odor and given a toyotaprint out that this is a known problem that is specific to the 2013 toyota sienna.on the last scheduled maintenancefreonwas added but did not eliminate the odor or improved the a/c output.the foul odor never goes away while driving and may be an environmental hazard for persons with a lung or breathing condition.this is a totallyunacceptablesolution for the risk of being exposed to a potential dangerous andunknown noxious fume to the owner of the vehicle.

As i was pulling on to the highway the traction control light and the engine light came on.i then noticed the vehicle was underpowered, like one cylinder was deactivated.called my dealer from highway who advised that they were closing in 5 mins and to not turn it off as it may not restart and i may be stranded on highway.dealer felt that it was just bad gas, but i made an appointment to have them check out the car the next day. Drove at reduced speed to my house, turned car off and a few minutes later restarted van and all the lights went out and the car performed as normal.the dealer inspection the next day indicated a cylinder engine code, and not to worry as it was probably bad gas.this doesn't seem right since the car corrected itself with a restart and no change to the gas.

Fuelpump sometimes stop working intermittently, which could lead to a sudden stall or hesitation while driving. The problem increases the risk of a crash, especially when the my sienna van is traveling at a high speed.when fuel pump fails, i notice that the vehicle's engine starts running rough and that warning lights may appear on the dashboard. The engine might not restart if it stalls.

When vehicle is in motion and i take my foot off the accelerator to coast to yield to oncoming traffic, but then see my way clear to accelerate into traffic and put my foot on the gas to enter the traffic flow, my vehicle stalls and won't accelerate. Where normal acceleration and "pick up" would enable me to enter traffic safely, there have been numerous occasions when i have almost been hit by other vehicles. My vehicle has been in motion on city streets or entry ramps, slowing, then attempting to join traffic when i seemed to have plenty of room to accelerate, except my vehicle has stalled..engine didn't quit running, just couldn't "get gas" to go. Have taken it to my local dealer twice and was told they could find nothing wrong; it was a computer "matter" trying to adjust to my driving habits. This did not seem to be a transmission linkage, there was no jerking. Vehicle just wouldn't accelerate. Happened on numerous occasions.

My wife and i were going out of our 60 foot driveway.we were going forward as i always back into the driveway.i applied the accelerator a little to get the car to the end of the driveway.i applied the brake and held it down so i could look for traffic.as i held down on the brake, the engine started to "race" as if someone was pushing the accelerator to the floor.the brakes held.i turned off the motor, calmed down and restarted the engine- no motor "rush."thank the lord this happened in our driveway.had this happened on the highway, we could have killed someone or gotten killed ourselves.my first thought was of all those recalls because of unintended acceleration.my second thought was, "when will this happen again?"

I was stopped at a bank drive up window, with my foot on the brake and as i put the vehicle in park the engine surged up to about 6900 rpm. I have had this happen to me about 4 or 5 times that the engine has surged as i have stopped. I have taken the vehicle to toyota repair and been told that the vehicle computer does not indicate that there is a problem. I have been able so far to maintain control the vehicle, but this has happened too many times for it not to be reported.

Even the front door is locked and in drive mode you can open the door, while the car is running and the door are locked my wifealmost fell when he accidentally pulled the front door opener.its is a big safety issue and it make no sense if you can open the door inside even if its locked specially when its running.when you start the engine the door will automatically locked, what is the purpose of that if you can open the front doors without unlocking it.

The contact owns a 2013 toyota sienna. While driving 5 mph in a parking lot, the rear driver side sliding door opened independently. The contact was instructed to disengage the sliding door, but the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the latch fractured and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 16v858000 (structure). The part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 74,000. Vin tool confirms parts not available.

The contact owns a 2013 toyota sienna. While driving approximately 15 mph, the brake pedal traveled to the floorboard when depressed. The vehicle accelerated without warning, the steering wheel seized, and the brakes failed to stop the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the brake booster failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired and the rear passenger door latch detached when the contact attempted to open the door. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 94,000.

The contact owns a 2013 toyota sienna. While driving approximately 45 mph, the rear driver's side sliding door opened without warning. Van started having a propane/musty smell inside cabin while driving on highway.van just had cabin filters replaced and auto shop stated the rear differential and coupler were blown and to get a used part and replace it would be $4300.the van is a 2013 with 86,000 miles on it.the rav-4 has the exact same part under a recall.how different could the parts be in the same company for 2 vehicles like this?it seems like toyota should be issuing a recall for this problem as i just read about 6 other people who had the exact same problem in the last 6 months alone all with vehicles with relatively low mileage.this is a disservice to loyal toyota customers and a huge safety issue to people driving their families in these mini-vans.

Noise from rear differential. Bearing in the viscous coupler appears to be bad and a common issue-too common for this to not be a recall.

Rear differential making a growling noise. Was told by toyota that the viscous coupler bearing is bad. Cost to replace coupler is from $1900.00 to $3000.00 dollars. Car only had 115000 mile on it when it started to make noise. Bought a used rear end with 69000 miles on it and again it to is starting to make the same noise at just over 100000. What is up with your rear ends. I can't afford another one. Is there a recall?that rear end is only 1yr. Old. Out off warranty

The rear differential is causing a whirling sound. The sound only occurs when the vehicle is on drive. I don't hear the same high pitched whirling sound when the car is in reverse.this is a common problem with this generation of sienna. Toyota has a recall for this issue on the rav 4 but not the sienna.

I have been notified by my toyota dealership that the rear viscous coupler on my sienna has failed and that the rav4s have been recalled for this same part as a safety issue ( years ago). This part is a known manufacturing defect. Forums are wallpapered with complaints about this for years, i've already lodged a complaint with toyota but they are doing nothing.customers should not be on the hook for a $2500 repair that is a known manufacturing defect. The coupler recall should be extended to the siennas!

Rear differential- viscous coupler making a whirring noise while driving. Toyota rav4 was issued a recall for the same problem. Toyota sienna needs one as well. It is a common failure of the bearing parts.

The rear differential coupling was worn on my car.there had been a recall for this pet on the rav-4 but not on the sienna.i believe this is a defect that should be looked into.the rear differential caused a very loud noise in the car that made it almost impossible to have a conversation from the third row to the front seat.

Rear coupler for rear differential bearings are grinding creating whirring noise and need tobe replaced by dealer.

The rear differential bearing started making a great deal of noise proportional to speed of vehicle.this is a safety problem.part must be replaced at cost of nearly $3,000.vehicle only has 65,000 miles and is only 2 months out of warranty.research i have done reveals that this is a common problem with this vehicle.the dealer had the part in stock, which also suggests that this is a common problem.a recall was done for rav4.a recall should be done for the same issue for the siena.

The rear differential coupling was worn on my car. There had been a recall for this problemon the rav-4 but not on the sienna. I believe this is a defect that should be looked into. I was in the dealership and quoted me $2,500 for my sienna with only 40k miles on my car this is a major problem to get into with this little milage on it.the rear differential caused a very loud noise in the car that made it

The viscous coupling on the rear axle of my awd sienna started making noise and needed to be replaced. Apparently there has been a recall for the rav4 for the same part, but not the sienna. My auto shop has told me this is a fairly common problem. The bearings in the coupling fail and start to make a very loud whine.toyota says the bearings cannot be replaced and must be serviced as a unit... To the tune of $2300 parts and labor.

Grinding noise began from the rear of the vehicle increasing as acceleration increased. Took to the shop and found at the rear differential failed at 75,000 requiring replacement for thousands of dollars. The same year rav4 has been recalled for this already - the sienna should have a recall also. The dealership had the part on the shelf, surprise surprise.

The mid row right seat belt is all the way out and the seat belt will not retract. I have tried jerking and pulling all direction but does not retract back.

Seat belt buckle will not latch on drivers side front seat

There are 2 problems i am experiencing with my 1 yr old toyota 2013 sienna van -1> rattling noise coming frm back of 2nd row or 3rd seat - very hard to pinpoint source, took it to my dealer for 25k svc, explained, was notified they will run this check on my 30k mileage svc as van needs to be left for 3 to 4 hrs with them. There are a lot of internet blogs and postings on this issue, with some getting toyota to replace 2nd or 3rd seating completely with a brand new seat and thus making noise disappear2> when turning the steering wheel, whining noise in the background can be heard at very lo w speed around 15-25 mph or even less, very annoying and disturbing for any car driver.i believe that is may also signify an underlying problem, waiting to get out of control. With a range of moving parts working in tandem, it is difficult to figure out the source of such abnormal car sounds. However, one thing you can be sure of, is that the noise, in this case, is created due to some problem in the steering wheel assembly itself. The likely candidates are the power steering pump, pulley, or the belt. I believe - toyota again is aware of this issue - as there are numerous blogs and postings on this issue as well, they should come out clean and make the necessary repairs asap prior an injury or fatality happens again. With all the re-calls toyota has been issuing i urge nhtsa to quickly act on it - prior new lawsuits or death occurs. Please help common man like me and others here to fight this behemoth giant !

I drove only 1975 mileage but my van makes unbearable noise from 3rd row seat. I took to toyota service station twice but i was told it is manufacturing defect and toyota couldn't find solution for this problem. I sent out email to toyota but didn't hear from them yeti paid about $ 44,000.00 for this van. Driving this car i feel i punish my self everyday. I am looking for help to get it fixed.

I've just finished reading the nhtsa campaign number: 14v054000 that discusses: "an electrical component within the actuator may experience an increased resistance resulting in the illumination of various warning lights, including those for the vehicle stability control (vsc) system, antilock brake system (abs), and traction control system."i've had this happen three times over the past four months.i've taken it to the shop and they've reset the code and could not find the issue.it keeps coming back.i believe the 14v054000 needs to be expanded to include my vehicle.

I bought my sienna 12/27/2012.in october 2014 while driving home from lake tahoe, the car began shaking violently while traveling down hill.upon returning home the car continued to shake anytime the brakes were applied.took the car to the dealer and they said the rotors were warped and needed to be replaced.the car had $15k miles on it.this is unheard of.in july 2014 toyota issued t-sb-0045-14 relating to this issue and recommended a "shim kit" as a repair.this was also added to my car.in may of 2016 while traveling down the grapevine from la the car again began to violently shake.took the car back.again, 15k miles and the rotors are warped and now we need new tires and back brakes too.my family has owed 14 toyotas and we have never replaced rotors twice at 31,000 miles!there is clearly something wrong with the braking system of this car that is causing it to eat through brakes, rotors, and tires and the "fix" that toyota has come up with is not fixing the problem!!

August 1 2015: driving straight and level, about 30 mph began to slow to turn and the brakes would not work.peddle was soft, unsure if it went all the way to the floor. Pumping the brake did not have any noticeable effect. Needed to use pull off into a parking lot. Turned off the ignition and used the parking brake to stop. After a few minutes, everything seemed to be working normally again and drove home (about 3-4 miles) without further incident. Contacted dealership (vehicle still under warranty) and was told there are no current recalls on my vehicle and to bring the car in on monday (incident occurred on a saturday) for examination.

When traveling around 30 to 35 mph (well under speed limit) on dry clear roads, on left turns (often slightly downhill) suddenly the vsc and slip/trac lights up, the abs system is activated / brakes engage. Foot is not on the brake and speeds are not excessive. I am not using run-flat tires, but that doesn't seem to make a difference for others online. I see dozens of similar complaints online about this same thing from 2001 to 2015 siennas. Two say that replacing rack & pinion fixed it; 1 says it does not. This started happening about 3 months ago, but is now happening more often. Approx 156k miles.other fixes that have not worked: replace front speed sensors, changed all pads and rotors, and replacing the steering angle sensor. None of those worked.on person says, "most common prob seems to be the rack bushing where the rack is mounted. They wear out and cause the rack to move when turning...bushings are hard to replace so just replace the rack and it will solve the problem if it is loose. ( although its a bit expensive) the yaw sensor or steering sensor has also been the culprit in some cases."another says, "steering linkages could be another culprit - control arm bushings were severely worn and could potentially be another source. Alignment and zero-point calibration sometimes help, but not for long."i don't feel safe driving myself or my children in this car, but can't afford another. And can't afford a $1k fix - especially if others have this issue.what can i do?

Winter rear brake freeze up. Took the van to northtown toyota today & was told by the service tech. That the van can't be washed in winter because it causes the rear brakes to freeze up. This has to be a manufacturing or design defect. We live in niagara falls, ny & the van gets extremely dirty in winter & needs washing regularly.

I have a 2013 toyota sienna awd with 23,500 miles on it and my brakes just started scrapping. I took the vehicle to a dealer and was told the brakes and rotors were worn out and needed to be changed. Cost: $970 and change. A car with such low mileage should not need new brakes and rotors.the dealership could not give me a reason for the wear but insisted the work was necessary and that they had the car apart and ready to go. Because it is a 2013 there was no warrantee so i had to pay the entire bill out of pocket.

Steering column made clunking noise and stuck. I had to pay out of pocket to fix this problem because it is a serious safety issue.

Binding and noise in the steering wheel when turning left or right and accelerating from a stop.

Our van has 93,800 miles on it and is making a grinding noise when we turn left and right while moving at slower speeds. We took the van in and were told that the struts need replaced and it was unsafe to drive. This is low miles for this vehicle and would be still under warranty if it was not older than 5 years. This should not need a repair like this already. Many other people have had the same complaints on his forum at about the same mileage. Toyota prides itself on making vehicles to last but have made several mistakes on this model. Cost to fix it is $750. I believe this issue should be looked into along with the reason our van has been going through tires about every 25,000 miles.

I have a 2013 toyota sienna and noticed a clicking/knocking sound whenever i'm turning the steering wheel to the left or right while in motion. I thought it was the cv boot and so ibrought my car to two local shop mechanic but they could not find the issue. I have checked online and found something that might be the cause of this knocking sound. I saw in one toyota sienna forum talking about the issue with their "steering intermediate shaft" where one of the owner have this issue. The mileageof my van is 104900 just pass the warranty of 100k but still less than 5 years by april of this year. I know their warrantypolicy is which ever comes first. And i've noticed this issue10 months before my mileage goes more than 100k but i did not pay attention on this because i thought it's gonna go away. I live in ontario canada.

When at low speeds, turning left or right...there is a clunking sound. Forums suggest that the issue is either the intermediate steering linkage. If this fails will it cause lock up or loss of steering? this should be looked into. So far, i have had only this 'clunking' sound.

Clunking noise when turning steering left to right and vice versa. Steering intermediate shaft issue is a well-known problem.

This car was purchased just 14 days ago and has been in the shop for 4 days out of that. It was raining outside and when i got into the car noticed that water was leaking from the body structure between the windows and windshield near the drivers seat. It was dripping continuously and i took my car to service centre. Would have been glad if there was a way on this site to upload the pictures to show the real issue.

Fuel filler door upper hinge is broken.this prevents the electrically operated sliding side door from opening thus causing entrapment for passengers in the rear seating areas. The sliding door sometime will not open when parked or standing because of the broken fuel filler door upper hinge

I was notified my vehicle had a recall on the power doors. I made an appt on 9/20/17 with alamo toyota to have them look at my vehicle and was told they were ordering the parts. I called alamo toyota on 10/10/17 and was told the parts were on back order. I called again on 1/3/18 and was told by 2 individuals that they could not find that the parts were ordered for my vehicle. We are talking 3.5 months later i'm being told the parts for the recall were never ordered. What if something happens to my family, my children who sit in the back? this is unacceptable! i was told they would order the parts as of 1/3/18. I'm still waiting to hear when these parts arrive. In the mean time, i pray nothing happens to my children!

My 2013 toyotasiennamini van is still under warranty, butfront subframe/engine cradle has a broken weld on the front left support area.i contacted toyota again and again but they haven't done anything to fix the problem.

While driving home from the toyota dealership following routine maintenance my drivers side sliding door opened while traveling at speed. I went online and learned there is a safety recall issued for my vehicle for this problem. I called the dealership and scheduled a visit to have the problem fixed. When i arrived they refused to make the repair because i had a bruno handicapped seat installed so that my wife, who is handicapped, could enter and exit the vehicle. They said i would have to have the seat removed before they could make the repair. I contacted the com[pany that installed the seat who said it would cost a minimum of $500 to remove and reinstall the seat. It is toyota's door that is defective and i feel they should be responsible for any costs for repair. Their recall notice also states repairs will be made at "no charge" to the customer.

The sliding door was opening (via keychain button), but opened only halfway before slamming shut very quickly.it was like it thought it hit something in by the back tire, but there was nothing there.my daughter had started getting into the car, so the door slammed shut on her finger and actually latched closed with her finger stuck inside.the door hasn't worked since.this "safety feature" backfired.

The passenger side automatic sliding door came off track and shattered the rear window. Glass flew all over our daughter in her car seat.the van had recall power sliding door service done, but it still failed. Roller bearings were badly worn.

The driver side sliding door on a 2013 toyota sienna minivan was slow to open do to overnight freezing rain. However, the door did open but then would not automatically reclose. More importantly, the door would not latch when manually closed. The door had to be tied shut in order to drive the vehicle to the toyota dealer since there was no other way to fasten it.the dealer reported they knew this was part of a toyota recall but they had no documentation on how to fix it from toyota so they just replaced the entire motor assembly. Toyota has known about this problem and has done nothing about it. It is a dangerous situation that has to be fixed before someone falls out of a moving vehicle. The door closes and appears latched until you drive and then it flies open.

The contact owns a 2013 toyota sienna. The contact had the sliding doors replaced, but the hinges on the inside of the passenger side sliding door were rusted out. As a result, the door fell off the vehicle. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or independent mechanic for diagnostic testing or repairs due to the sliding door that was detached from the hinge. The contact called sherman toyota 1555 (393 court st, binghamton, ny 13904, 607-724-1334) where the contact was advised that the new door hinge would cost to replace. There were no recalls found on the vehicle. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 113,000.

The passenger side door wont open when commanded. Couple years back i took it in for repairs.but the problem still persists.

Toyota has yet to fix the power sliding door problrsm for my vehicle. I am handicapped and the power doors were the reason i bought this vehicle. I have tried three times to get this fixed. The latest time they set up the appointment and then called stating that they couldn't fix it and again i needed to wait. I just need this fixed as soon as possible. This recall has been out for a very long time but they have yet to try to fix my van.

I had the recent sliding door recall done but my driver's side sliding door still isn't working correctly.after the fix the car was hard to start sometimes, as if the battery was getting weak.i put an ammeter on the positive lead of the battery and notices minimal amperage until i started operating the driver side sliding door, then there was a 2.4 amp draw even after the doors were closed and the car was locked.the door also sometimes will open with a popping noise as if the door isn't latching properly sometimes.while testing, the driver side sliding door got to where it would not open or close using the overhead button, the door post button, or the remote door button.while trying to close the door manually it would roll for a short distance and stop. After sitting a few seconds i can close it a little more but then the same thing would happen. It took several attempts to get the door to close.the passenger side door opens and closes normally. No popping noise and the buttons work even when the buttons for the driver side sliding door do not.

The cable of my automatic doors of my toyota sienna snapped.when i tried to open the door using my key fob, the door opened, but them proceed to make a high pitched beeping noise (like when you try to lock the doors while one of the doors is open).the doors do not automatically close and it needs to be manually closed.after investigating, i noticed that the cable of the vehicle was severed. The car has been routinely maintained as suggested by toyota and has 39,000 miles on the vehicle and we are the originally owners of the car.

The contact owns a 2013 toyota sienna. While driving approximately 45 mph, the driver's side sliding door opened. The contact stopped the vehicle and switched the door to manual operation. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 16v858000 (structure). The contact took the vehicle to the dealer (greenfield toyota, greenfield, ma, 413-772-0231), but the failure was not remedied due to a handicap seat that was installed on the front passenger side. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and wanted the handicap seat removed before the recall remedy could be performed. The failure was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 26,000.

I have had a sliding door failure, exactly as described in notification zh4 and zh5, and safety recall 16v-858. The rear sliding door would not fully close, or would not latch, and would often re-open automatically. The door exhibited a grinding noise and would often not latch.this on a vehicle just over 3 years old with 48,880 miles on it, always garaged and never in an accident.when i the vehicle in to the dealer on june 13th, 2017, the dealer repaired the problem by replacing the upper door hinge which apparently had failed.i was charged $323.46 and was told it was not covered under mywarranty.after the recall was announced, i contacted toyota and requested reimbursement, which was denied as they said the condition my vehicle exhibited was not covered by the recall.i don't understand why this serious safety defect on a current vehicle is not covered by toyota when the symptom mirrors that described in the current recall.

Sliding (l&r) doors opened prematuely few times and now auto function stopped working. System displays p1603 code and says maintenance required, but there is no problem found.

While stationary in driveway, passenger rear door intermittently will not open or will not close.we have noticed this after the vehicle has been turned off, and the key is no longer in the ignition.this has happened multiple times.my son will push the button from the inside of the vehicle, and attempt to use the handle on the inside of the vehicle.on multiple occasions when the door would not open, he had to use the door on the driver's side to get out.there have been other times after he has gotten in the back passenger door, but the door would not close.it takes pushing the button multiple times to get the door to close.this has happened both while the key is not in the ignition and the car is off, and after the car is started.climate outside has varied during these episodes as well.

While pulling on the handle to open the door, the handle broke off.

My 2013 sienna was parked with remote button used to open the rear hatchback door. It was open and we were loading up the back area when the hatchback suspension failed and the door came down. This trapped the individual who was standing under it and it took another person to help get it off them. It was taken to the mechanic who informed us the shock was bad and that there were recalls for this issue. However it seems not the 2013 version which seems to have the same issue as the recalled one.

During my 60k service (57k miles run) on apr 20, the local toyota dealership (piercey toyota) identified a major service related to suspension which is expect to cost around $3000. My vehicle usage is minimal which is quite evident from barely 57000 miles run during last 8 years. I'm extremely disappointed that the suspension control arm has failed with such limited use which clearly suggests defective quality from toyota. Researching on the internet (search string - sienna control arm problem) i found out that this is common issue on sienna to the point it leads em to believe this should have been a recall e.g. Https://www.siennachat.com/threads/2011-sienna-se-dealer-recommends-replacing-control-arms-lower-ball-joints.62597/.this appears to be recurring issue with sienna, hence i'm filing this recall request/complaint.

Excessive wear on tire always. 4 years and 4 sets of high mileage tires. Never gotten past 20k on a brand new set. Goodyear assurance and michiline defenders. Traction is always an issue at the 12k mark. Allighnmenta done every time and rotations every 5k.

The passenger side cable attached to the sliding door has stripped, causing an internal jam, disallowing the door from closing fully. Even manually closing the doors does not work, and the door is open roughly 60% of the way. The van is still able to drive with the door open.

1. Faulty tk airbags - i got a notice over mail about it.2. My side door opened during driving, i then found out there is a recall for sliding power doors (electric issue) - i contacted local toyota dealership, but they said they cannot handle it in the next 5 months as they have no parts.

Tires tread life runs really fast, usually between 20 - 30,000 miles which is not normal. This was happening not just to me, but also most of the sienna owner that had complained online.

Both power sliding doors have failed due to the cable assembly.one door the cable snapped.the other door the cable got stuck.

Goodyear assurance tire size 235 60 r17 number for recall and m7jj f1r 5116 tire has what they call a seam manufacturers defect jim norton toyota wouldn't warranty it even with an extended warranty on my vehicle but they said it has 4/32 left on it but they would it if they were me not to mention that the outer walls of the tire where the tread is were wearing but not the middle and i'll only have the vehicle for like a year

Takata recall

The power sliding doors would not open by pushing the button.the power button was in the on position.in order to open the door we had to try it manually and when that was done the cable broke.the following week the other power sliding door cable broke as well.after the cable broke you could not even open the door manually with the power button in the off position.this is a safety issue as to if a child or person was in that seat and would be unable to get out in the case of an emergency.the vehicle was in a stationary position when this happened.now the one door will become unlodged and open while driving down the highway.i do know that there is a safety recall on that portion of it but i believe that the cables for the power doors should be included because i do believe that they are a cause to this.

I was driving my sienna van 2013 last month in october 2016 and all of the sudden, the side mirror on the passenger side just broke without any reason.i tookthe sienna to dealership on the same day, stating that, the mirror was defective but the dealership stated, they are not responsible.i called toyota customer care & explained to them but they denied to replace the window for me.i drove so many toyota in the past 10 years and this was the first incident that happened to me regarding to the side window for the toyota.

Very abnormal wear on new tires that can cause accidents. I have had this van for 13 months and i'm on my 3rd set of new tires. Alignment and rotations every 5 k. This is not a tire defect but a flaw in the design of the vehicle. If you do a google search about tire wear on the sienna, there are 100's of forums of people complaining about this. Please have toyota address this design flaw problem and find a solution.thank you!

On november 22, 2016, a recall was announced for the sliding door operations.we then disabled the door operations pursuant to the recall notice and had the dealer likewise further disable the door operation.more than 7 months later, there is no remedy and the door motor still runs when closing the door which, seemingly, is part of the problem so our steps coupled with the steps of the dealer, leave us in no better of a place with doors and a hatch that require manual closing which is very heard from my children.

My parents bought ne a 2013 toyota sienna xlevan, ever since there's been a loud rattling in the rear an they have taken it in over 40 timeseven the yesterday an toyota of louisville said they can't fix it, i've heard it while riding in the van it drives you nuts, they over $30,000 for the van an its loud ride sounds more like your on a train .mom said this is her last toyota she's buying usa only.

I bought this van in feb 2017, checked on the web and found it has a recall incompleted regarding to the sliding doors. What should i do ?and, there is a noise inside the radio when i switch on the key, it just stops when i completly pull out the key, any suggestion?

We experienced a very cold arctic blase in early january 2018.the van was in our garage.when i tried to oped the left hand rear sliding door, it would not open.after a second attempt, it did open but then reversed.eventually, it would not close and latch, so we did not drive it that day.i had to slam it shut in order for the interior lightsto so out so not to run down the battery.i did drive it a few days later, and the door came open when i made a right hand turn.when i would stop, it shut, but did not latch.i set up an appointment with the dealer i bought the vehicle from after explaining the problem and they said they would order the parts for the recall repair.later that day, dealer said there was also a problem with the closing motor and that was not covered by the recall repair.it only covered the wiring harness and junction box.i got a ride from work to the dealer and they offered me a loaner while they did more evaluations of the problem.later the next day, i was told the repairs would cost $1300 and would not be covered under the recall.i felt that the failure of the cables and the fuse being overloaded probably contributed to the motor failing.i then told them just to disable the power function and we would just open and close manually because i could not afford that repair at this time.later that day. The service adviser left me a voice mail that they could not make the repair nor repair the latch and the vehicle was ready for me to pick up.i call back on saturday morning to speak to service manager, but he was off.i called back on monday, but had to leave a voice message.i am very concerned that even if i could afford the repair this time, it will probably happen to the other door at some point as well.there seems to be quite a history of this problem going back several years and it's more of a design issue.

I was driving 65 mph on the highway (95 degrees outside) with the sunroof closed and i heard what sounded like an explosion. There was no debris on the road and no one in front of me. The interior temperature of the vehicle was set at 68 degrees.i pulled over to inspect the vehicle, i realized that the glass in the sunroof over the driver's seat had completely shattered.i pulled the cover closed to protect myself from the possibility of any glass falling into the vehicle. When i contacted the dealership, i was informed that i clearly had something hit it; i explained the driving conditions and was still told something must have hit it. Upon returning home, i have discovered that there are other reports of windows spontaneously "exploding".

I received a letter stating that there was a recall on my cars sliding door mechanism.recall number 16v-858.i called handy toyota in st. Albans vt to have the recall remedied.i was told the parts would be ordered and they should arrive in about 4 days and i would receive a phone call when the parts arrived.one week later i still had not received a phone call, i called the service department and was told the parts were not in yetin and they would calltoyota dealer to see where the parts were.i was told i would be called the following monday. Another week had passed and no phone call.i called handy toyota today 11-2-2017 and spoketo jamie in the parts department.he told me i was not in there system, only for a car i had purchased there 9 years ago.he informed me that the part had never been ordered. In order to get the part needed he would need my vin number to get the correct parts.the people i had previously spoken with never asked me for a vin number and both people had assured me the parts had been ordered.jamie has assured me that he has ordered the parts and they should arrive in about 4 days.the service i received was non existent.it seems that the first 2 people i spoke with were either very poorly trained or simply untruthful.

On september 27, 2016 while driving on the highway the sunroof exploded. I went through my insurance company to file a claim. Thankfully my children both under the age of 2 were not in the vehicle at the time.

The side glass on my 2013 toyota sienna van was broken out by a rock, while my wife was driving on the freeway, the glass literally exploded throwing chips of glass everywhere in the vehicle. If one of my grandsons or a person had been setting in one of the back seats they would have been seriously injured!!!the side glass on these vehicles need to be safety glass so this would never happen, it wouldn't shatter like that and seriously hurt someone. I did contact toyota customer service and they said that it was safety glass and it was made to brake into pieces, i told them that they needed to make the glass like the front windshield with a layer of safety plastic in the middle and they said thats the way it is and its all that is required of them to have.

For the past 6 months, our vehicle, a 2013 toyota sienna that we purchased new, has emitted a very foul odor from the air conditioning system.from all the information i have, this appears to be from mold growth.i am worried that aside from being extremely unpleasant, it is a safety concern.after numerous trips to two different toyota dealers for service, an inspection by a southeast toyota representative, and following all the guidelines found in the technical service bulletin, we have not had any improvement.the odor is sporadic but persistent, usually occurring several times a week.as i've explained to toyota, there are three distinct "smells" (vinegar, wet dog, and one just very, very bad).we filed a formal complaint with toyota last spring, wrote letters to many toyota representatives, met with the general manager at the dealer where we purchased it, and have been in phone contact the past three weeks with a representative from the office of [xxx] , ceo and president of toyota north america.toyota maintains this is an environmental issue and not a mechanical one, therefore they won't fix it.i have other vehicles in the same environment without this problem.being that this van was purchased new, my first new vehicle ever, makes it even more upsetting.while one dealership said a recall is possible, unless this is deemed a safety concern, i do not see toyota addressing this issue.please help. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

Sunroof exploded while van was parked in june 25, 2016. Photos show glass exploded out. Van was certified but coverage denied.

Tonight around 1950 hrs., while attempting to park my vehicle in a parking cover, i lost control over my toyota sienna 2013 due to unexpected acceleration. The vehicle accelerated suddenly and as a result i hit and run over the curb. I tried to apply the brake paddle with all of my strength without any success.two of my children were frightened because of this accident. If it wasn't for the curb in front of my vehicle, my vehicle would have struck/hit the apartment building in front of me.

2013 toyota sienna.consumer writes in regards to accelerator problems.the consumer stated the accelerator pedal momentarily became stuck in the open position. After starting the vehicle and driving for three miles, the pedal did not release when he moved his foot from the accelerator pedal and pressed on the brake.

I took a right turn from jupitar rd. To president george bush freeway - approximately 400 meters before entering the tollway.the trac off and engine fault light switched on and the van couldn't go beyond a maximum speed of approximately 20 or 30 mph.i was shocked and stunned and couldn't figure out what was just happening and how to get the van to a side path amid passing vehicles at 60 to 70 mph because that road lead to toll way entrance.finally, after long wait with a shaky heart, i could movethe van to right lane @ < 30 mph and stopped near a right turn.i stopped the vehicle and inspected tyre pressure . It was normal. Restarted vehicle and did a test drive on normal road - every thing seemed normal.my vehicle had an error code and i found an exactly samecomplaint in internet dated back to 2008.demanded an explanation from asktoyota and they were dismissive about the internet reference and advised me to contact dealer. My van is with them since last 4 days and still don't have a status.why this is a matter of life and death ?1. Unintended slow down to maximum speed of < 30 and random occurrence of this incident.imagine, i am just entering the tollway at a maximum speed of 30or i am in the middle lane of a highway at speed of 30mphthis is sudden death case and i don't thinktoyota will admit this unless you get involved. Why this is a design flaw ? at no time - machine shouldoverride mechanical gas pedal.

Because i live on a dirt road; i am assuming that built up on the window rollers, have damaged my windows. My windows are scratched, to the point where it affects visibility. I thought the scratches were on the window tint (interior); but it turns out, it is on the exterior (the glass). I went to a window repair shop, hoping they could resurface the glass. They said there is no repair and that i would have to replace them. Replacing 3 to four windows would cost over a thousand dollars (tint extra). I am very disappointed because apart from the hideous look, my families safety is at risk. I chose not to replace the windows, because the rollers will just begin the process all over again. If you live on a dirt road, i recommend you either wash your car, very regularly or don't roll down your windows at all. The latter is very difficult for us to do. I live in southern california, and it gets very hot; inside a parked vehicle. When i put my children in the car; i roll down the windows immediately, and start the a.c;to bring the temperature down. I hope toyota becomes aware of this problem and installs better rollers, or offers repairs. Thank you.

The contact owns a 2013 toyota sienna. The contact stated that the windshield could not be defrosted. The contact engaged the defroster on full blast but could not clear the windshield. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer and was told that there was not a remedy available to correct the failure. The contact spoke with the manufacturer and was told there had been similar complaints, but there was no remedy available. The vin was not available.the failure mileage was 10 and the current mileage was 1,000.

The windshield defrost system is inadequate.with the "auto"system on, and/or the fan on maximum , and/or the windshield defrost press on, the upper 1/3 of the windshield remains frosted over.this seriously affects visibility and safety.the fan seems to be blowing hard, but air flow from the defrost vents seems weak.the problem is most apparent at or near sub-zero outside temperatures.

The rear window on the hatchback door blew out. The vehicle was parked in the garage overnight - the next morning it was shattered. I contacted the dealer to find out if this was a common problem - i was told no. However upon performing a google search i found hundreds of instances of people complaining of the same issue. It was also interesting to note that the rear windows were/are on national backorder from toyota. The window installed in my van was apparently a "take off" from another vehicle. I am highly concerned that this issue will occur again, possibly next time while driving or with my children in the vehicle.

The air coming out of the vent as soon as i start the car smells like a dirty wet towel.this smell will last about 10-15 minutes if i turn off the ac.toyota said this is nothing abnormal from another other sienna.

My wife went outside this morning and saw what you see in the pictures. The rear glass was shattered and glass was on the outside indicating that the window had possibly been pushed outwards. There was only a little bit of glass on the inside.i parked the car outside last night and it was normal temperatures for texas. The rear of the car was less than a foot from our garage. The damage is not consistent with vandalism and there are no glass pieces inside the car that would suggest a bat or anything else. We brought the car to texas toyota of grapevine which turned out to be a waste (other than the scheduled oil change). They refused to accept that it could possibly be a manufacturers defect and since they "had never seen this before so it won't be covered under the warranty." they would not look at the pictures i provided and instead decided that there was no way that they could prove it was a defect. They did not even consider that it could be a bad defroster unit (other reports on this site indicated that possibility) or the rear door frame was out of alignment or that there was a defect with the manufacturing of the window itself. No one from management came and asked us what happened or offered to have us walk through what we found. After the oil change was complete, the car was delivered back to us with the glass still in the vehicle and the rear window not covered. Texas toyota of grapevine website states that all service comes with "complimentary car wash and interior vacuum." i can understand not washing but the interior vacuum is unacceptable. As far as we are concerned, they let us leave the facility with an unsafe vehicle with no regard for our safety or the safety of other drivers.

We parked our car in the garage and the next morning woke to a shattered rear windshield.the window was completely shattered and removed from the frame of the back window.the car had not been involved in an accident or any other incident that would have caused this damage.

The contact owns a 2013 toyota sienna. While driving approximately 15 mph, a blind spot appeared on the driver side of the windshield. The blind spot hindered visibility when making left turns. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified. The vin was unavailable. The approximate failure mileage was 200.

This mini van is the absolute worst vehicle for tire wear.at 90,000 miles, i have put on 5 different sets of tires.i've rotated the tire fairly religiously at 6-8k miles and even though the tires are wearing evenly, they wear out fast especially on the front of the vehicle.this is an engineering defect that toyota should be held accountable for.it also puts the occupants at risk of blowout as tires are wearing much faster than is normal.

I have an all wheel drive toyota sienna with run-flat tires that i bought new.the tires had catastrophic wear down to the belts on the in only 25000 miles, especially on the rear.suspension alignment check at the dealer showed that the rear suspension was "in-spec" and additionally was not adjustable.the ealer told me this type of wear was "normal".i have never seen tires wear at the inside edge down to the steel belts like this on any of my many vehicles over 40 years of driving.i was told that it was due to run flat tires, and this is how they wear.i don't believe that as i have another vehicle with run flat tires that has no such problem.i believe there is something seriously wrong with the suspension geometry with the toyota sienna awd vehicle that causes this catastrophic and severe tire wear.these were factory installed oem bridgestone turanzatires, never abused or overloaded, and as can be seen in the pictures, were worn, but were not down to the wear bars.upon researching this problem, it would appear that it is a very common issue specific to toyota sienna awd vans.i can not understand this wear being "normal" under any definition.it is clearly a safety hazard and a defect either with the vehicle or the design of these tires..

The 2013 toyota sienna xle was purchased new at larry h. Miller toyota in spokane, wa.all maintenance was performed at the same dealership according to schedule, with no problems noted other than excessive tire wear.the vehicle was used for normal city and highway driving only, no gravel or off-road use.during the 25,000 miles (vehicle mileage is slightly less) checkup at the dealership, the tires were discovered to be tread-bare with metal threads visible in irregular patterns.this was not an alignment issue.the vehicle was purchased new, and all maintenance was performed according to schedule, therefore the tires are likely defective.the tires in question are bridgestone turanza el400-02 rft.there are many complaints online about this tire going tread-bare on or before 20,000 miles - this is 1/2 to 1/3 the normal lifespan of a traditional tire and owners should be notified of the potential safety hazard and be reimbursed for associated replacement costs.the tires in question have a 6-year warranty on manufacturer defects, but the tire company doesn't want to pay to replace them.the dealership has all the documentation to prove the preventive maintenance work was done properly from day 1 and because the vehicle warranty doesn't cover tires, the toyota dealership refuses to do the right thing.i now have a vehicle, in like new condition, that is unsafe to drive and neither the tire manufacturer or the vehicle manufacturer will accept responsibility.i am a disabled veteran, with limited mobility, and on a fixed income - any help would be greatly appreciated.thank you.

There are strokes inside the steering column. In rainy weather when turning the wheel. It looks like the wheel is falling off
