I have been calling lone star toyota of lewisville, texas since i received the first recall notice in july 2015. Every time i call, they tell me they do not have the parts, still waiting on parts, oh now your name is not in our system for needing one. They told me today that they are just now receiving parts that they ordered in september 2015. This is ridiculous. No one can stop driving their car for over a year and wait for parts. Please get the parts to the dealers so the owners can get the dangerous recall fixed.

Sticky / melting dashboard - the passenger side airbag is sticky/melting.

On wednesday, february 7, i was driving our 2007 toyota sequoia 4x4 on a rural road that had had fresh snow the night before, but no sand or other road salt was laid down. It is a curvy and hilly road. I had driven on the road an hour earlier with no problems. At approximately 9am, i encountered a patch of ice where there was a curve in the road and my suv that had brand new michelin tires on collided with a tree that was part of an island in the middle of the road.the tree was approximately 15 inches in diameter.the collision struck directly on left side of engine by headlight'plowing in approximately 9 inches and deflated front tire. Front suspension was broken as is hood ( see picture).no airbags deployed?? i was going approximately 25-30 mph at impact. My airbag on drivers side was recalled with takata recalland replaced , but i wonder if it was installed properly or wrong?i suffered a concussion and other trauma toyota dealer body shop indicates that all sensors for airbags on frame only and since frame not hit no deployment??

2007 toyota sequoia.consumer writes in regards to replacement parts for recall notice issues.*ldthe consumer was concerned about the safety of passengers who occupied the front passenger seat.

Takata recalli have been attempting to get the airbags fixed for almost three years. I call toyota, they call the dealership, they tell me to call back in a few weeks if no one has called be to schedule a fix. In a few weeks i call toyota back and start all over but i am assured everytime that they will get it fixed this time. I do not know where else to turn in getting this fixed.

Just crank the vehicle up and the airbag insignia came on and the book says take to dealership immediately.so i did that and now they are trying to charge me s125 for checking out a manufacturer problem other than that i would have never took it to manufacturerif i knew it would costs me 125 dollars to check a manufacturer problem.the vehicle was stationary when the airbag light came on and then i started driving and it stayed on.

Takata inflators , was notified almost a year ago . Have not received a recall appt., to fix problem. Passenger cant not seat in front .

We have received a recall notice (nhtsa recall id 15v286) for our 2007 toyota sequoia (vin [xxx]) over the summer. We have made numerous attempts to have the recommended repair performed. However, we were placed on waiting lists at two local dealerships because the part was on backorder. I have since made 4 phone calls to toyota corporation (1-888-270-9371; case # [xxx]) because the recall letter recommends letting no one occupy the passenger seat until the repair has been made. I was initially told they would facilitate a loaner car since the part was still on back order. Now i am told there is a dealer hours away that has the part though the local dealers do not. It makes no sense to me how or why some dealers are receiving the part while others are not. Toyota corporation can only tell me "it depends on the independent dealers' contract with toyota." they are also, reportedly, unable to send the part from one dealer to another. This is unacceptable and toyota is taking no responsibility. Any assistance you might be able to provide toward a reasonable resolution is appreciated. Takata recall - the toyota airbag inflator recall was dated june 16, 2015 and as of august 23, 2016, toyota still has not repaired our vehicle.the dealer says that the part has been ordered but they do not know when it will arrive.how many years are we supposed to wait to have this dangerous situation fixed?

Takata recall. Dealer had to inspect first then order parts and re-schedule to perform work.took about 3 weeks and had to drive an unsafe car during the meantime with no offer of a loaner car. Had to take off two days to get work done. Dealer is toyota of johnson city (tn).

We were notified by toyota that our front passenger air bag has been recalled and we have not been given a date when it will be resolved. We were told to not use the front passenger seat until the airbag has been replaced but there is no timeframe for this to happen. I find it unacceptable that there is no set time to fix this serious problem in our car.

My 2007 toyota sequoia airbag light came on this morning. Called both corporate and local dealership and both advised me to drive vehiclefor inspections assuming all risk.

Takata recall.i was notified by toyota of the airbag recall in august 2015.i have checked repeatedly at my local dealer and they don't have any information on when the parts will be available.initially, i was told by the dealer is should only take a couple of weeks.

My vsc trac, trac off and check engine lights all came on yesterday. I was driving so i'm not sure if they all came on at the same time or not.the brake does not over ride cruise control on highway. So it will continue gas up even you use brake under cruise control mode.this is pretty disappointing since this problem has been seen all the way back to the first generation

I own a 2007 toyota sequoia and the trac off-vsc trac and brake lights turn on several times while driving or after i push the brakes, i took the car to 2 toyota dealers in miami fl, and they told me that in order to fix the problem the must have a code, the lights comes and go frequentlyand disappear when you turn off the car, the dealer don't want to help and seems this issue is happening to many people, i don'tknow what else to do to because they said the computer doesn't show the codes while the car is on, and once you turned off the car the computer reset itself. In two months my extended warranty will expired and after this i will have to paid for something that is the manufacturer responsibility. None of the local toyota dealers wants to help, i would like to know if there is any type of support you can offer me as a consumer. The steeringin ignition are damaged, makes the vehicle inoperative.

Seems there is a common problem when searched on toyota sequoias and tundras from 02 to 07 vsc trac off and ecu replacement which is to do with skid control and can cause death and injury if it fails.apparently i am finding out that thousands have registered with this site and no toyota recall has been issued and the company doesn't want to recall because it is a 2300, repair.the computer chip is the problem and it goes bad that soon?wow toyota is just turning the us government and people around and screwing them silly and laughing all the way to the bank.please do something!it is a family car that is going to make the american families that buy it homeless with that kind of repair.

In january 2010, as i was doing an oil change on my 2007 sequoia, i noticed some corrosion on the underside of the hood and also through the engine bay.i took it in to mid city toyota for an warranty claim inspection on the issue, march 2010.it was obvious that it was a defect of something, i couldn't figure out what it was.the dealership came back and said i must have filled the water in the battery, because it is now leaking and because of that, it has voided the warranty and they will not fix it.i disagreed with their statement and indicated that we did not fill the battery with water.my parents are the only ones driving the vehicle, they wouldn't even know how to do that in the first place.the dealership wanted to know what type of resolution we wanted out of this, i stated to just repaint the underside of the hood, new battery, and other damages associated to the battery leak.they wanted me to get an estimate from a local body shop.after submitting the estimate, they reviewed it again and denied the claim.i decided to take it to another dealership in, elk grove toyota, in elk grove ca, july 12 2010.the service department found the battery to have been faulty and was leaking, which the fan blew the acid throughout the engine compartment causing the pattern of corrosion as reported.they agreed to fix the problem.a few days after the car was at the shop, they called and said they found the car is out of warranty as of 6/24/2010 and will not fix the vehicle.i explained that i had reported the issue to mid-city toyota in march 2010 during thewarranty period.they wanted me to open a case with toyota, and they'll review it after.i opened up case # 1007162060 with toyota.elk grove toyota came back after a couple of weeks and denied fixing the car out of good will stating that there was lack of maintenance records.

While the vehicle was traveling at about 40 mph it suddenly loses engine power and the vehicle becomes hard to steer. Both the vsc off and trac off lights came on. I had to pull to the side and the car died completely. I turned off the car but could not turn it on immediately. I waited for about 5 minutes and tried again and it started up fine, but after i drove for less than half mile the same issue happened again. It happened a total of 6 times within a couple of miles. Since then it's been happening every few days. Took it to my mechanic but they could not pull a code. Searching online it seems this is a common problem that happened to many 1st generation sequoias.

The secondary air injection pump has gone out.this particular component has a know defect issue with toyota.toyota extended the warranty on 2008-2010 sequoias with the exact same engine as my 2007 but they will not cover my vehicle.if they know there is an issue and they are will to extend the warranty of some vehicles, they should cover all vehicles with the same engine types because they are all going to have the same issue!this repair can cost the consumer up to $3600.this is a scam in my opinion.

Check engine light on, vsc and trac lights on - truck enters limp mode due to faulty secondary air intake system for emissions system.this is a known issue for sequoias and tundras, however not yet covered for the 2007 model year!dealer part costs $1,700.unless toyota recieves enough case problems for 2007 year, they will not extend warranty for parts, which they have done for all other affected years.

Power window motor and electrical malfunction cause window to become stuck and rear window defogger to be disable and driver visibility impaired.

The rear latch would not work during a camping trip in a remote area. The rear seats had been removed as per the owners manual prior to the trip. The rear portion of the vehicle was full of camping gear, food, water, and our first aide kit . I sprained my hand and back while first attempting repeated times to open the tailgate and then having to resort to lifting heavy equipment through the back window and also over the passenger seats. We took the vehicle to a toyota dealer at out first opportunity. We were told that toyota was aware of the problem which was described to my wife and i as weak engineering and a plastic part also know to fail.we were told that the failure could have been raised by driving the vehicle on dusty roads, because the latch was not protected from dust and it was poorly designed and was likely to fail if it got dirty. We learned from this dealer that we had already had the latch replaced a year prior. We were told that toyota would no longer stand behind repairs to this vehicles tailgate latch because the problem was chronic and the replacement parts have not been improve to prevent expected failures. The dealer replaced, cleaned and lubricate the latch parts and then attempted to protect them using a surplus plastic bag. I am concerned that when the latch fails again it may be during an emergency, or cause another injury, or entrapment...

With the car engine on clean smoke started to come from the drivers seat heating switch area, the smoke dissipated after about 30 seconds when i turned the engine off. There have not been any malfunctions since then.

My vehicle is a toyota sequoia 2004 4 wheel drive. Since about 2 years, the vsc and brake lights stay on off and on. I took this to the local dealer. He said this is an inherent problem in the sequoia vehicles stretching from 2001 to 2007. He wanted to change a computer costing about $1200.00. In doing research on line, i noted that this is a constant problem in these vehicles. In one case, the brakes stopped working.1. I own a 2007 sequoia and a few months ago on random occasions while taking a right turn my vsc (vehicle stability control) light would turn on and the gas pedal would no longer supply gas to the engine. This is very dangerous especially if i am turning in to on-coming traffic with my entire family in the car. The cars coming up behind me often must slow down quickly to avoidrear ending me. My mechanic (not from a toyota dealer) informed me that he had several customers who had come in with the same complaint. I contacted toyota only for them to tell me that since it wasn't a recall there was nothing they would do. I searched the internet and have found a large number of folks with the same situation. Please do something about this before something very bad happens. Thank you.

The master pressure sensor is failing and from what i am reading this has been a common complaint in the early 2000's toyotas but no one has done nothing about it besides charge an awful amount to fix. My vehicle when in 4wd brakes will lock up and i still slide no matter what gear or how slow i am going. I have almost slid into countless cars.

When driving conditions are dry, warm weather, i make a turn from a complete stop and the vehicle stability control (skid control) light starts blinking and acceleration is diminished significantly. The vehicle bogs down and i can not accelerate and almost get hit from the oncoming traffic. I have taking it to the dealer several times and for some reason, they cannot replicate it. My vehicle has 65000 miles on it now and it is happening more frequently. Unfortunately, the warranty has expired. But, this is a serious flaw in the design of the stability system. It happens on a daily basis. Please help in forcing a recall.

Vsc, traction control and check engine lights came on. Vehicle running rough and steering tight while driving on street. Was able to get vehicle back to residence. Feels unsafe to drive. Will be contacting toyota dealer for repair.

This is very unsafe!! the vsc trac, vsc off, and brake light come on this truck. When these lights come on my car goes into a crazy slamming mode. It shakes the whole car and my car will not stop! i have babies and this is not safe for anyone on the road! the weird part is that as soon as you turn the car off then on everything seems fine and it works for a little bit thenbam you are trying to stop and the car wont and start shaking out of control! please help! i have looked online and there are tons of people with the same problem. With toyota's history they need to take care of it. We all need your help do the right thing and recall!!

The secondary injection system has failed. Toyota is aware of this defect and has extended the warranty for this issue on 2008-2010 sequoia. The 2007 has the same engine and same defective parts but toyota will not cover the replacement. Hey should cover all vehicles with the same engine types because they are all going to have the same issue! this repair can cost the consumer up to $3600.the vehicle makes a loud sound upon starting and the trac and abs light and check engine light appears. My vehicle is at the dealer but in my opinion toyota should repair these vehicle free of charge especially if this is a known issue.

Vsc activates frequently on low speed, 90 deg turns, under completely dry driving conditions, causing a brief (several seconds) loss of power to wheels. Seems to primarily occur on right turns. This occurs every time on certain turns, which leads me to believe that it may have something to do with vehicle orientation and/or intersection geometry.

The steeringin ignition are damaged, makes the vehicle inoperative.

As in nhtsa complaint id # 11316132, my 2007 toyota sequoia began making a loud vacuum noise upon cold start for approx 1 min in mid to late february 2020.within about 1 week, the noise continued and my check engine light as well as vsc and vsc trac lights came on.upon taking my vehicle to local toyota dealership, they informed me that my secondary air injection pump needed to be replaced as a result of codes p1445 and tsb 0230 12.the issue is now affecting my acceleration.i'm no longer able to accelerate when quick speed is necessary for freeway entry.i'm also unable to go above 65mph.my car must be fixed in order to pass smog, however vehicle will not pass smog in ca with a check engine light.upon research, i found that toyota was reimbursing customers for the exact same problem for models between 2008 and 2010, but not for 2007.this seems to be a widespread problem, as i've found there in several online toyota forums that there is actually a bypass kit for sale for a few hundred dollars that allows the secondary air injection pump to be bypassed.that is much more cost effective than the actual repair which is almost $2,500.i called toyota to notify them of the issue and inquire as to whether they would extend the program for 2008 - 2010 to 2007 and at this time they will not.filing a complaint in order to elevate the issue and help toyota understand they need to extend the program of an already identified issue that is affecting more than the years in existing scope.

I was told i need a 2nd air inception flow because it is bad. My ball joints are also needing to be replaced as they have been bad and its dangerous, the plastic handle for hatch broke, the arm for hatch broke, suspension swing arm bad, tramsmission misses first gear on and off. I bought this car because i wanted something i wouldn't have issues with and i have had plenty of issues since i purchased it especially with front end. Once in a while the engine reffs up high and i'm just sitting there with foot on the break.

Secondary injection pump is making a loud vacuum type of noise.our own online research leads us to believe that the bearings are going bad in the pump. This noise is very loud when the engine is started.if you quickly tap the gas pedal, the noise goes away for a short period of time.the noise will usually come back on for about another 10-20 seconds and it will go off on it's own.it seems that once the engine has been on for about 30 seconds total, the loud vacuum noise goes away on its own.this loud vacuum noise occurs when the vehicle is in park and also while driving it.in our research online, it seems that this exact problemis why toyota issued reimbursement offers ("in response to reports of air induction pump assemblies and/or air injection switching valves issues on their 2007-2010 tundra and 2008-2010 sequoia models, toyota has decided to increase its warranty on these parts and is even offering a reimbursement if you already had this issue fixed. This is a great relief for owners since it was an such an expensive fix as we reported in april, 2010, tundra and sequoia $4000 air injection system problem)"!!why did the toyota motor corp. Leave the 2007 sequoia's off of this reimbursement list, when they also clearly have this same secondary injection pump problem as all the vehicles involved in that particular reimbursement offer?!why has toyota motor corp. Been able to get by with this?i've seen online that tons of people have complained about this problem.when this sort of very expensive problem occurs, the government should just mandate that a recall be done.because of course, toyota tried to re-nig and not actually reimburse people for this repair.that is not protecting us customers that are now buying these used vehicles that had these problems and previous owners never had it fixed!

Vsc, traction control and check engine lights randomly come on and vehicle suddenly loses acceleration and runs rough. I tried putting on new gas cap to no avail. I was almost rear ended going up a hill when the lights suddenly came on and i lost power. It has happened at highway speeds as well leaving me unable to safely accelerate . Mechanic reports this is an ongoing problem with toyotas and costly to fix. Stated that toyota fixed the problem in 2008 models but not in 2007.

I was driving on the highway. Suddenly my truck began vibrating harshly. Soon after, the truck stalled out. I had no braking or steering assist at all. The truck wouldn't start so i couldn't pull off to the side of the road. Being stuck in the middle of a busy highway was a frightening experiment. I had it towed to a local independent shop. The service technician found a broken intake valve spring. This is a costly repair for a truck with only 68,000 miles on it.

The contact owns a 2007 toyota sequoia. The contact stated that while driving 45 mph, the vehicle stalled with the check engine warning light flashing on the instrument panel. Due to the failure, excessive force was needed to steer the vehicle to the side of the road as the steering also failed to operate due to the failure. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where the vehicle was diagnosed with a defective spring valve. Neither the manufacturer nor the dealer were notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 118,000.

Check engine comes on vsc light comes on trac lights come on. They come on when engine is started and stays on. Error codes read p2440 secondary air injection system switching valve stuck open bank 1

Secondary air injection pump makes a loud vacuum noise on startup as in nhtsa id# 11064285. Four related codes generated on my vehicle and, now, as a result engine light is on. Also impacts acceleration on freeway when quick speed is necessary on entry. Car struggles to get power to accelerate and will not go over 65 mph for passing. Car must be fixed to pass a ca smog check and will not pass with an engine light. Toyota is reimbursing some, but not all models impacted by this known issue. Repairing this issue with the air induction pump costs over $2000. Toyota has a program for 2008-2010 sequoia models, but not for 2007 models. When seeking a mechanic to repair the issue, mechanic reported he'd seen this issue many times before and received a call the week prior for same issue. Because of the expense, he is telling owners to not get it fixed as the car is still driveable, but without repair, the acceleration and air pollution issues remain. Called toyota and customer service rep assumed 2007s/my vin was a part of the related reimbursement/repair program, but they are not. Was transferred to a second tier rep and he said there was nothing he could do since the 2007 vin's are not a part of the program. When i told him about a case number i'd found in my online research, he looked it up and saw reference to a customer who had the same issue with his 4runner. The 4runners are also not a part of this program, but there have been calls about it. If this is a known issue then toyota should be reimbursing owners who experience this issue and consumers should be protected from this type of negligence and damage to the environment. Online research shows this issue impacts multiple toyota v8 models, including sequoia, tundra, 4runner.

The secondary injection system has failed at 125k miles. Toyota is a aware of this defect and has extended the warranty for this issue on 2008-2010 sequoia. The 2007 has the same engine and same defective parts but toyota will not cover the replacement. This can cost the customer upwards of 3k to fix. Customer satisfaction? not so much. Guess i'll put the money into another vehicle but not a toyota.

The contact owns a 2007 toyota sequoia. While driving various speeds, the check engine, trac off, and vsc trac warning indicators illuminated continuously. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where the secondary air intake pump needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 136,000.

The contact owns a 2007 toyota sequoia. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the traction control and engine warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was not inspected by a dealer or an independent mechanic. The manufacturer was contacted and offered no assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileages were approximately 62,000.

Vsc, traction control and check engine lights came on. Vehicle running rough and steering tight while driving on street. Was able to get vehicle back to residence. Feels unsafe to drive. Will be contacting toyota dealer for repair.

Began acceleration from 35 mph progressing to 55 mph, accelerator left my foot, engine sped up to over 5,000 rpm, applied both feet to brake pedal with all my weight, engine continued to race above 5,000 rpm, put car into drive 1 with no change, engine raced, put car into neutral and engine continued racing over 5,000 rpm, was able to steer car into a ditch, turned off ignition.the check engine light was blinking during this event.i was never able to stop with my brakes.i maintained both feet on the brake pedal during the event with my entire body weight on the pedal and the car never, ever stopped racing.

I had just stopped at a red light when my suv shuddered and then stalled out.it restarted but the a/c light blinked.the dealer said the a/c froze up (at 42000 miles) and needed to be replaced for over $1700.00- not under warranty.it will be fixed in the next month or so.if the light had not changed when it did i may have stalled in the middle of one of the busiest intersections in virginia beach ( so unsafe there are red light cameras at that intersection). Prior to this the a/c had worked perfectly, so there was no warning that this would happen.

The contact owns a 2007 toyota sequoia. The contact was driving various speeds approaching a complete stop with her foot on the brake pedal when the vehicle began to violently jerk. The vehicle would hesitate when accelerating from a complete stop. The vehicle was taken to the dealer over ten times for failure. The engine rear mount and cross member were replaced. The failure occurred continued. The failure mileage was 74,625.updated 03/16/11updated 11/21/11

The contact owns a 2007 toyota sequoia. The contact stated that the vehicle stalled numerous times while steering to the right. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who performed a diagnostic that was unable to locate a failure code. The vehicle was also test driven, but the failure did not duplicate. The vehicle has not been repaired. The failure mileage was 64,000 and the current mileage was 65,000.

I have 2007 toyota seguoia, in the last 2 months i, as well as my friends, have noticed a very strong odor of exaust fumes accumulating in the cabin of my suv when:-accelerating to pass-decelerating from passing-stronger when a/c on and in "recirculate mode"-also when just regular a/c onthe fumes have caused my friends to become ill with nausea, headaches, and sleepiness.the fumes have caused me to become very sleepy when travelilng, and my friends say my thinking is off in last couple of months.i took to local toyota dealership, and they told me that they did not notice it?then told me they would not investigate it further because no notice was out?my suv has 24k miles on it, i have owned it for one year.this is a severe passenger safety issue, it is going to cause someone to fall asleep at the wheel, and kill someone else or self.it is also danger to passengers in car in multiple avenues.i think this needs to be investigated asap!thanks!

Exhaust fumes in interior when accelerating.

2007 toyota sequoia would not restart, key would not turn.consumer states that the mechanic told him it was the steering wheel lock. Mechanic also stated there was no fix for this failure.the consumer had to pull really hard on the steering wheel in order for the key to release. The consumer stated there were other problems with the vehicle such as failure of the supplemental restraint system, poor cruise control performance and failure of the dvd player.

Cannot fuel my 2007 toyota sequoia. Gas station pump keeps shutting off no matter where i go to purchase gas. Have to hold hose abovemy head, and breath in the gas fumes. My wife cannot fuel car at all. Toyota has washed their hands of this matter. I have been told that others with this vehicle and the tundra pickup are having the same problem.

Exhaust fumes enter into the interior of vehicle when accelerating for passing, merging, etc.

Code p2440 can dairy air injection system switching valve stuck open bank 1. Vehicle has 71,000 miles on it been informed that this is a common issue with this year make and model and the toyota should've issued a recall. Causes high rpm start and loss of power acceleration.

Accelerator stuck when parking (<5 mph) causingvehicle to strike a curb and 1 ft retainer wall resulting in going airborne up a 3' bank, over a 6' sidewalk and 8'grass area to strike an office building.location was kia drive lagrange, ga.my wife was driving and injured her right forearm. No broken bone, just bumped and remains sore. Vehicle was mfg in august 07.we took delivery in sept after placing an order. I saw recall on 08 thru 12but not 07. Wondering if late 07 had a 08 accelerator installed?photo files were resized to smalller images for sending.

1. 2007 toyota sequoia rear door latch broken. The event occurs by attempting to open the rear latch.2. The failure occurs because the rear latch would jam, and the owner was just trying to open the door the normal way. This also occurs on the regular doors as well.3. I will contact the dealership about the failure.

The rear latch which controls the opening of the rear hatch broke. This part is made of plastic (perhaps costing 0.30), and it is sheltered from direct sun and wear and tear by being covered with a part of the hatch which is made of steel.the hatch when this part is broken cannot be opened. This means one cannot gain access to the spare tire or the rear of the vehicle. This part costs over $90, and the labor to repair is approximately $170. Combined this approaches $300 with tax. When i brought this into the local toyota dealership, i was informed that this was a common problem, and they pointed out that they had two other sequoias currently in the shop having the same repair being performed. They had the part in stock because it occurs so often.a search on the internet has shown that this has occurred tens of thousands of times. A recall would appear to be in order.

Rear door handle latchbroken, trying to open the rear door when latch just broke and was unable to open the rear.

When at a complete stop (brakes applied), once releasing brake and slowly starting to move (less than 1 mph), everyone in the vehicle feels a nudge (like getting rear ended or a bad drive-line u-joint).also, feel a similar nudge when the automatic transmission shifts from 3rd to 4th gear (possibly 4th to 5th gear with the over-drive on) at about 50 mph.these conditions constantly occur every time the vehicle is driven (everyday!).reported both conditions to the dealer numerous times since nov 2012 (while under the extended warranty), and the dealer continues to say this is normal and continues to diagnose as suspension spring wrap/tension. The dealer action was to lube the drive-line u-joints (with no improvement). I do not buy it, and believe there is a much bigger issue/defect potentially with the automatic transmission and over-drive.now my extended warranty has expired and the nudge continues and has intensified. This is a safety concern not to mention i will not be able to sell the vehicle with this condition (s.o.l).my recommendation, do not buy a toyota truck or sport utility vehicle until toyota addresses the issue/defect.

The contact owns a 2007 toyota sequoia. The contact stated that when driving over a bump, the vehicle would make an unusual clunking noise from front drivers side, near the fuel line. The vehicle was taken to a local repair facility where the mechanic advised that the u joints were defective. There were no recalls for the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 15,000 and the current mileage is approximately 85,000.

2007 sequoia vsc trac sensor lights turning on and off and hearing grinding noise when accelerating and decelerating.along with the vsc trac sensor lights turning on, the brake indicator light turns on as well.the most recent occurrence happened as i was picking up my daughter from school, and as i was pulling away from the school doing no more than 20 mph - my vehicle made a grinding noise and all the above listed indicator lights came on.i was able to (nervously) drive my vehicle home.this has also happened multiple times before at different speeds. During these instances, i have noticed decrease acceleration and my vehicle feels like the rear is sliding from side to side.i am afraid of not being able to stop in time, the brakes failing completely or a total loss of power as a result of this.

On monday afternoon 1/19/2015 was driving my 2007 toyota sequoia 40 mph as i drove my vehicle suddenly dropped on the left side & my tire flew off. Damage was done to my suspension as it scrapped & hit the concrete pavement damage was done to my rim. Now the dealership i purchased the vehicle from is currently working to resolve my issue. What happened to me has happened to many others where they will input your vin into toyota system but it does not populate that your vehicle is involved in the recall. Yet they recalled over 500,000 vehicle sold with the defect ball joint. This has cause substantial damage to a perfectly good vehicle.

The contact owned a 2007 toyota sequoia. While driving 30 mph, the steering seized without warning and the vehicle crashed into a tree. The driver sustained unknown injuries that required medical attention. A police report was filed. The vehicle was destroyed and towed to a salvage yard. The manufacturer was notified. After complaining about difficult steering at low speeds, e.g., pulling out of a parking space, i had an alignment done at a toyota dealer, but deferred having a power steering pump replaced until the necessary part could be obtained.driving home from the dealership and shortly after exiting a freeway, i was backing up as part of a y-turn when the car suddenly collapsed toward the front right, as though the driver's side front wheel had fallen off.after getting the car towed back to the dealer, i was informed that the lower ball joint had broken.if this had happened at highway speeds, it probably would have caused a serious, perhaps fatal accident.i've since learned that this model year toyota sequoia was recalled for faulty ball joints, but that our vehicle was manufactured after the defective parts were no longer used.my concern is that others might be driving around with parts that are still faulty, and that this problem could lead to other serious or even fatal accidents.

The steeringin ignition are damaged, makes the vehicle inoperative.

The toyota sequoia was being driven on the freeway at 65 mph when it was struck on the passenger side by a vw jetta that cut across several lanes as it entered the highway impacting the sequoia in the rear quarter panel and the front passenger side fender, as well assome contact with the passenger side front wheel, this side impact broke the drivers side front wheel control arm, the wheel turned to the lefttearing the tire apart pulling the sequoia to the left causing it to crash into the center divider on the freeway. The impact fractured the driver's sternum.

The contact owns a 2007 toyota sequoia. While the contact was washing the vehicle, rust flakes were observed on the subframe. Upon inspection, it was discovered that the entire subframe experienced excessive rusting. In 2011, an undercoating material was applied to prevent the rusting, but the vehicle still experienced the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vin was unavailable. The failure mileage was 73,000.

11/02/2011, plastic rear hatch outside door handle broke. I am unable to open the hatch. Dealer said it may take up to 2 hrs. To fix @ $105.00/hr. Plus parts. Advised dealer of others who have had same problem & was advised there is not a recall. I emailed complaint to toyota, but to date, have not received reply.

I have a 2006 toyota sequoia suv and the rear doors do not stay open unless they are opened very wide (fully).this has caused the door to close on me numerous times when climbing into the back of the truck to secure my children in their seats.also, it is a danger for them as you never know what will cause it to close.the door will stay open if fully opened, but the space required to do so is not available in most consumer's garages.the middle door check was originally found to be defective by the toyota dealer and they were replaced on both rear doors.now the problem appears worse.the door used to stay open in the middle door-check position *most* of the time, but now most of the time it closes while securing the children.the toyota dealer contacted toyota, but they said it is working as designed, though they have had many calls about this issue.i don't really expect anything to be done, i just wanted to raise it as a safety issue that should be looked-at for future models.

Extensive rusting of frame/chassie of toyota sequoia - rust every where under truck.

The rear portion of the vehicle frame that holds up the spare tire and has the brake proportioning valve attached to it is severely corroded and the spare tire is in danger of falling off the vehicle while it is in motion. Also the brake lines can be broken causing a loss of baking ability resulting in a vehicle crash.

I have excessive rusting on our sequoia and am concerned about premature failure of the frame and/or structural components underneath the vehicle.

In june of 2018 i went to walker toyota for an airbag recall that they had sent me notices on. While there i asked about a frame recall that several of my friends who have the same vehicle i have told me about. They told me there was no recall on my vin number for that. So i thought i was in the clear. As we get into fall my friends ask me how my recall on the frame went? did they spray the frame or replace it. I said they did neither. I told them walker told me there was no recall on that. They all said yes there was. So i started to look into it further and finally got them to admit there was a recall. They then told me that this is something they do not do must have been the reason the tech told me this when i was there for the airbag. Now i know this is a lie because i had a toyota tundra that had a frame recall and walker did the frame replacement. So then after going further they said "oh we do not do the under body spray because we are not licensed by the city to do it". So they gave me the toyota dealership in beavercreek ohio which is pretty close as someone who could do it. So i called them and there was one guy in charge of that and he was not in. But they do not take messages? i called quite a few times after that to try and set appointment which took a while to get. I go to appointment and he says the frame is bad but it is 45 days after the expiration of the recall. A recall that they lied to me about. I contacted toyota and explained everything to them. They looked into it and said sorry but we will be doing nothing. They said they sent me letters of which i do not recall getting. They did send me letters for the airbag every month up until just a couple months ago. Even though that work had been done. So i am now driving a truck they say is unsafe but i cannot afford another. Need help.

Lower ball joints on both sides came loose and toyota will not replace them under the previous recall for same make model year vehicle with same problem for only at 90 k miles

There is severe abnormal frame rust & perforations in the vehicles frame. I received noticed to address toyota frame recall when i called toyota customer relations to inquiry about any recalls on my vehicle. The rep explained of two recalls & scheduled an appointment at my local toyota service center (fitzgerald lakeforest toyota) to address the frame recall campaign & airbag recall. The service adviser explained frame recall remedy was not applicable because there were perforations discovered in the vehicles frame. The vehicle was entitled to a frame replacement. The adviser explained the frame recall replacement has expired & that i needed to call toyota customers relations to look into the problem. The airbag recall was corrected. I called them. The toyota customers relations representative explained the frame recall for my vehicle expired january 31, 2019 & toyota is not able to help me with this problem. I am not sure why there is a expiration date on this recall if there are still vehicles out on the road with faulty vehicle frames. I have attached the picture of perforation in the frame.

The vehicle frame has structural rust and the spare tire carrier is almost rusted thru. The under car spare tire carrier is getting ready to fall out from the vehicle.

I purchased a 2007 toyota sequoia from the power cerritos dealership in ca on jan. 14, 2007. I brought the vehicle back on saturday jan. 27, 2007 to have the lo jack installed. At this time i was told that there was a recall on the front ball joints on the 2 front wheels. The power toyota service department repaired the recall at this time. I pickedup the vehicle later that afternoon, at which time i was told everything was ok. On friday feb. 2, 2007 i proceeded to back out of the driveway of my home and heard a large grinding noise, sounding like my car bottomed out on the driveway. I proceeded down my street with my children in the car and attempted a left hand turn, at which time my car resisted the turn and made a very loud grinding noise again and the steering wheel started to shake and the car became uncontrollable. I actually drove my car backwards in a straight line, once i slowed to a stop and realized i could drive the car as long as i didn't turn the wheel.i immediately called power toyota cerritos and spoke with the service department manager and told him the problem and that i thought it was the same issue as the recall repair, he called for a tow truck and sent his service specialist to my home to look at the car. I expressed to him my extreme concern, because had i been on the freeway, my car would have been completely out of control at high speeds , which could have resulted in an accident that would have caused injury, if not death to my children and myself. I was appalled that their service department did not correct the problem the first time and sent me home to drive an unsafe vehicle.vehicle is still at the power toyota cerritos and i have yet to hear form the general manager, even after leaving multiple messages. The service manager has been trying to take care of my car, but how am i to feel safe after 500,000 have been recalled for this problem?

Toyota sequoia 2007-- vsc/trac light is on indicating a failure in the traction control; seems to be a common problem for this make of car.

While driving 35 mph in a residential area with my foot on the gas, all of the sudden the engine revved up from under 2 rpm to almost 5 rpm. I pressed the gas to see if i could free up the pedal and the brake. Nothing worked, finally after a couple of seconds the car began loosing acceleration and i pulled over. Floor mat was not under the accelerator, something else made it rev up. We are bringing in the car monday for inspection. I could not reproduce the problem since. *ln

On 2/14/11 i began to smell a moldy, mildew smell in my vehicle.after searching my car, i found the padding underneath the carpet in the cargo area behind the third row seats was wet.the top of the carpet was not wet and did not show signs of ever being wet.i took the car to the toyota dealer on 2/15/11.the dealer removed both the second and third row seats and rolled the carpet and padding back.the car had standing water under the carpet and padding.the dealer took apart all of the moldings and panels in the car and ran various water tests.they finally discovered the water was entering my car through the third brake light assembly on the rear hatch door.the water trail ran between the molding/panels and the frame of the car under the carpet to the bare metal floor.they told me there was no way of me knowing water was entering my car because it was hidden behind the panels.the dealer explained to me there was no damage to the third brake light and the rubber seal behind the brake light was in tact with no cuts, tears or dry-rotting.they said the water came through the third brake light assembly due to a part failure.this is now a safety issue because of the mold and mildew in the carpet that my family and i have breathed in on a daily basis without our knowledge of water damage to the vehicle.this seems to be a more common occurrence than not with toyota vehicles built between 2005 - 2008.a recall should be issued for this problem, similar to the recall that was issued on toyota vehicles for the 'cowl panel water leak' and 'access door water leak'. *ln

I was driving on the free way when i felt my vehicle rattled and a something came off the front driver side tire.i was able to take an exit and safety.i got out and checked the tire and found a 2x5 chunk of rubber was missing from the tire wall and the tire was going flat.when i tried to open the back-hatch to put on thespare tire the hatch latch wouldn't work.upon closer inspection i found the plastic latch was broker and made it impossible to lower the the spare tire.i was fortunate to be close enough to home to drive it slowly before the tire went completely flat.upon further investigation i found the latch issue to be a common problem with sequoia 2002-2007 due to cheap plastic part and with out providing a secondary safety release to open the back-hatch in case of emergency.the dealer is charging $400 - $500 dollars labor to make the repair to a $20 dollar part.http://forums.edmunds.com/discussion/10071/toyota/sequoia/toyota-sequoia-rear-hatch-door-problems

Extensive frame rot. There is a hole in the frame at the location of a body mount.

When i tried to open the back hatch, the latch broke.i had it replaced on the above date.about a year later, it broke again.toyota reimbursed me what it cost to have it fixed again at a toyota dealership on 8/19/13.about another year later it broke a third time. When i called toyota, they said they would not do anything else to fix this recurring problem, i was on my own.i can only get into the trunk but putting the window up and down.(there is only a 1 year warranty on this part).it has been about a year since it broke again and a friend suggested i make this complaint.i have researched the internet and others with my car have complained about having this same recurring problem.they claim the part that is being used is plastic.i think this should be a recall problem and a quality part be used to fix it.

Spare tire carrier/ hoist rusting prematurely and spare tire could fall and cause accients on the cars behind and may be fatal..

Thank you.

The contact owns a 2007 toyota sequoia. When the vehicle would sit idle in the drive position, it would suddenly accelerate without warning. The contact would apply extreme braking pressure in order to maintain control of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealership where the drive shaft was serviced; however the failure would still occur. The contact stated that the vehicle would exhibit instances of unintended acceleration since the day of purchase. The current and failure mileages were under 54,000.

Http://www.toyotanation.com/forum/86-sequoia-forum/177871-vsc-trac-pbrake-light-stay.htmlhope you can help with this persistent problem in multiple vehicles before someone has a major accident/death.

The contact owns a 2007 toyota sequoia.while approaching a stop light the vehicle lurched forward.also while idling the vehicle would roll forward.a master technician was then sent by toyota , but he could not identify the cause of the failure. The current and failure mileages were under 24,000. The vin was not available.

After coming to a complete stop while in drive (such as when at a stoplight), the vehicle will occasionally lunge or continue to roll forward when brake is fully depressed.this is dangerous because although you may be completely stopped at a red light for over a minute, the car may stop moving without your being aware.this has been reported all over message boards for sequoia owners and also reported to my local dealership.

The vehicle "lunges" or "rolls" forward after coming to a complete stop with brakes fully depressed.this problem has been reported on numerous toyota message boards for several toyota models of varying years.this is very dangerous as the driver comes to a full stop and then the vehicle starts moving (with the brake fully depressed).

Toyota sequoia 2007-- vsc/trac light is on indicating a failure in the traction control; seems to be a common problem for this make of car.

Vehicle "lunges" forward after being stopped (at a red light mostly).foot is completely off the gas pedal and on the brake when this occurs.sometimes happens immediately, sometimes after a minute of being stopped.this occurs regularly when driving this vehicle.

The contact owns a 2007 toyota sequoia. The contact stated while driving at 55 mph and releasing the accelerator pedal the pedal never released. The speed of the vehicle inreased to 90 mph.the contact put the vehicle into neutral and shut the vehicle off.the contact was able to pull the vehicle off the road and check to see if the floor mat caused the vehicle to accelerate, but found that it wasn't the floor mat.the contact restarted the vehicle without any problems.the contact called the manufacturer and they informed the contact to take the vehicle to a dealer.the dealer preformed a diagnostic test and found nothing wrong with the vehicle.the contact feels this year should be added to recall number 10v17000 regarding the sticky pedal.the failure mileage was 55,000.

Power window motor and electrical malfunction cause window to become stuck and rear window defogger to be disable and driver visibility impaired.

Rear window- the bracket that holds window up is broken and part cost appr. $400.00 to repair it.
