My car is having an excessive oil consumption on which is a problem that toyota dealers are fully aware of and are not willing to do anything to fix the problem. Is unacceptable that a car with only 35,000 miles on it consumed all the oil out before it reaches 4,500 miles for service requirement. Government needs to do something about this fraudulent dealers whom are taking advantage of people like me and stating that according to toyotas protocol there is not problem with the car if its consuming all the oil out after the 2 test toyota performs. And they do not want customers to go with a private mechanic to perform the test because they take all of their liability off if someone else beside toyota mechanics touch the car. It's obvious they are hiding something again. Please help.

Takata recall.attached notice received feb 2016. Toyota recommends not having anyone in the passenger seat.it's been approximately one year and a remedy is still not yet available.
My recall is listed as incomplete which means a remedy is not available yet. My car is 6 years old now and i think enough time has elapsed for there to already be a remedybe a remedy and if not then something needs to be done to resolve this quickly.
Takata recall - i have contacted several toyota dealerships in my area (baton rouge, la), some of them more than once.none of them are able to do the airbag recall, claiming they do not have the necessary part and do not know when they will have it.this has been going on for probably about a year now.one of them actually suggested that the remedy was to prevent anyone from sitting in the front passenger's seat.i have a wife and 2 small children; that is not an option, and it was ridiculous and insultingto suggest it.i bought a car with 4 doors and (at least) 4 seats for a reason, and that's what i expect to have.totally unacceptable answer there.anyway, i have been unable to resolve this with the local dealerships, so i am filing a complaint here.i wish i had found out about this form 6 or 9 months ago.thanks in advance.

A half of a mile before hitting an embankment and then jumping out of the ditch and back onto the highway where it landed and stopped.the car is suppose to be equipped with six air bags but none of them deployed upon impact.

My 2010 toyota matrix has been having a oil consumption problem for the past few years. I have received a letter from toyota that they are aware of the problem. So far i have had two oil consumption tests and both times they say its under the recommended amount of oil loss. But when i take my car in under the recommended time for a oil change i have almost no oil left. Now my engine has a slight rattle when i accelerate. Every morning when i start my car my garage fills with smoke that comes from my tail pipe. I showed a video of this to a toyota service advisor and he just brushed it off.

Driving toyota matrix 2010, in 97degree heat, up a hill (6 miles long), in 3rd gear, air conditioning off (as suggested at the bottom of the hill), on cruise control. Speed of approx 60 mph. The car sputtered and then stalled. I was able to restart it after about 5 min. Nothing was done to correct the failure yet. An appointment with the dealership has been made.
On several occasions while city driving in july 2016 my 2010 toyota matrix vcs light began blinking, both the skid light and the engine light came on and the acceleration had little to no response.though it has not resolved the cause of the problem, i was able to reset the system so the lights are now off. My vehicle will then accelerate and work for a period before repeating the symptoms. I don't know if this issue is a program error or a part defect. Based on the error codes when i took my vehicle in for service (aug 2016) a certified licensed technician replaced the original ecm module with one that was purchased at a certified toyota dealership and programmed it. I had to take my vehicle back in for service this month (aug 2017) since this same issue reoccurred. Fortunately, it was still covered under the parts/service warranty and a second ecm module from the same dealership was installed and programmed. However, after getting a tank of gas today, this happened again as i pulled away from the pump! and yes, my cap was properly secured. I sent an email to toyota to ask how the company is able to resolve this issue for me since this may be the fourth one installed in my car if i count the original one.i am very concerned that my vehicle will fail while driving on a highway between two semi trucks causing serious injury or death to myself and/or others. I have read that other owners of this make/model vehicle have had similar experiences; and that there was a recall for this problem on older models.(2005-2008 matrix hatchback due to engine stalling issues) if this is not a recall problem for my year/make/model, it should be. Please note that i have had this happen several times and at various speeds.
I own a 2010 toyota matrix. The driver's seat belt buckle does not function properly, and often doesn't allow the locking/closing of the buckle and belt. That is, the buckle doesn't allow for safe, complete use. I contacted the local toyota dealership in ventura approx. 2 weeks ago, and the toyota of america corporation on sept. 12, 2014, but both refuse to replace the broken buckle for free because they say it's not a recall item. I think this should be recall item because it poses a safety hazard. Please make this a safety recall item as it poses a risk of injury or death, and please assist me in getting it replaced and fixed without my incurring a fee. Thank you.
While making a sharp manuever felt a 'pop' under the driver's seat. Seat then had a slight rocking movement, as if lose from the floor (e.g. A small amount of 'play' where there should be nothing but a solid connection)..when due for inspection the vehicle was failed due to va requirements.owner (self) determined the 'play' was between the seat proper and the sliding bracket to which it is attached. He then the partially removed plastic cover from the drivers side of the seat and tightened a large-headed screw (about 1/2 inch) with a torx head using the appropriate bit mounted in a screw-driver handle.the screw got to nearly the point of being 'tight' when it abruptly became loose again as if it was 'stripped'. It was then tightened less firmly and the vehicle was re-inspected and passed. About 2 weeks later the 'pop' sensation reoccurred and the 'play' returned.on 7/19/2015 the service manager on duty told me there was no service bulletin about seats for the 2010 matrix, though he seemed to imply there was for some other toyota vehicles.

2010 toyota matrix purchased brand new november of 2009 with only 5 miles reading on the odometer.although there has been no accident with this vehicle i am very concerned about two operational issues:steering on highways at highway speed and brakes not engaging.on straightaways this vehicle swerves back and forth.i am constantly having to correct its direction.we tried adjusting the tire inflation with no help. Took it to the dealership who readjusted the tires back and said the vehicle was still within design specs.our newest attempt was to try extra weight in the back which is not helping either.the other big issue that has happened with this vehicle was 3 separate events i had to pump the brakes to before they would engage.the dealership could not reproduce the problem and questioned operator error.all manufacture specs again were within design limits.please note these issues were present and noted prior to all the recall notifications.we have tried to make things work but are now beginning to worry about the safety of this brand new vehicle.

Brake pedal suddenly felt soft as if there was air in the brake line. Brake only worked when you pumped fast. Otherwise the pedal would go down to the floor. I took the car to the dealership, they verified the complaint, and fixed the problem for free. They replaced the master cylinder and fluid.brakes were fine until 3 weeks ago, april 23, 2012. Exactly the same happened, thank goodness as i was driving slowly. Took the car back in and they acknowledged the problem. They concluded it was a faulty part. They replaced the master cylinder again (covered by warranty) and the brakes were fine again.then today, may 9, 2012, the brakes failed again, exactly the same problem, thank god no accident. My car is in the shop again so i don't know yet what their conclusion is. The scary thing here is that this is the third time the brakes failed within 6 months. Have you had complaints like this before? has there been a recall?i appreciate your consideration and look forward to your response.[xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).
Brakes do not work (no brake force to wheels) first second of braking when cold in humid weather conditions for example after standing still overnight in temperatures between 0 and 10 c.have happened repeatedly and is unsafe for example at crossing other road.this is second vehicle of this model with same problem and dealer have not managed to fix.my vehicle is in europe and model is avensis but i believe you need to investigate as this brake system is probably used also in usa on us cars.

"electric power steering" while driving the steering does not center causing you to have to recorrect constantly. It seems like a saftey issue but toyota swindled their way out of a recall.
