Toyota sent us a recall notice several months ago. There is a potential defect in curtain side airbag. We expected the remedy to be available in september 2016. It is now mid-october 2016. There is no update in terms of timing available. Is my car safe to drive? next steps?

Parking brake is frozen. My private mechanic explained this model year uses a white metal that corrodes very easily.i was not able to engage the parking break while parked on a hill on a city street.i've attached a picture of the parts that show the corrosion. I believe that toyota should recall these vehicles and replace this part for safety reasons, and reimburse customers who had the part replaced. (300+ dollars)

I was driving on freeway at a speed 60-70mph. It felt like front driver side brake was engaged by itself without pressing on the brakes. I lost the control of the car, and the car started skidding towards to left. I heard high pitch noise. I and my passenger felt like the car was going to roll over. The weather was sunny, no rain, no snow. The road was clean of debris or fluids. This failure occurred once.i lost the control of the car, felt like rolling over. If it was rainy day, probably, i would have been dead or seriously injured. I barely gained the control of the car.i had the car towed to a local toyota dealer, they had inspected and repaired. This was the technician's written comment: "please note the vehicle has aftermarket brake rotors and pads. This damage is most likely due to the front wheel bearings not being properly torqued during previous brake service."i am filing this complaint, because, i would like to see if this problem was encountered by somebody else as well.

Currently leasing 2005 toyota land cruiser.this is the second one since original purchase.after 1500 or so miles the car started shaking. I have had it in for service checking for tire balance, and i have also paid for alignment etc.after complaining to toyota corporate they authorized 4 new tires and local dealership checked the car.they didn't find anything too significant but agreed to try the new tires.im wondering is this a transmission issue.since the new tires the shaking is worse.the investigation is still ongoing, awaiting toyota to approve the next step.i understand that this has been an issue with other 2005 land cruisers.

Windshield was replaced by cascade auto glass in april 2005 due to crack.car resides in garage all summer as we live in mt during summer months. Last week car was outside in rain for 2 days in greensboro, nc and head lights came on and would not go off.it was determined by mechanic at rice toyota in greensboro that there was a leak from windshield into the fuse box.cascade auto glass is telling us that there are reported problems published with the 2003/04 model land cruisers, and they suspect the same applies to my 2005 model.fuse box must be replaced.we are waiting for a rep from cascade to speak with the mechanic at rice toyota and to view car tomorrow, thursday oct. 13th.

Excessive frame rust.i have a steering stabilizer bar frame mount that has rusted completely off and therefore the steering stabilizer is not performing properly.happened during driving.this is the same year (time frame) as the numerous other toyota frame lawsuit issues.

The incident is on my 2001 toyota land cruiser.i was driving between 70-75 mph with the cruise control activated. After approx 2 hours the cruise control shut off with out any warning.i deactivated the cruise and continued to drive. Approx. 1 hour later the traction control light came on (flashing) and the warning chime activated. Then the vehicle started braking one or more wheels without any warning. This caused me to almost lose control of the vehicle while i was in traffic. This happened (2) times in a period of 800 miles. I took the vehicle to a toyota dealership and they said that they could no find anything wrong with the vehicle nor could recreate the incident. I was told that they could not do anything further on the vehicle. I called toyota usa and they told me that i had to workwith the dealership to fix.this is a dangerous vehicle if this happens without warning and traveling at highway speeds. The danger is greater if the road surface is wet or icy. I am at a loss as to what to do with this vehicle. I am no going to let my wife drive this vehicle until it is fixed because the potential for an accident is too great.
