Car accelerated to about 25 mph and struck a telephone pole. Drivers fault. The indent from the damage of hitting a pole that did not move was 12 to 18 inches directly in the middle of the bumper.no air bags deplolyed.

Vehicle automatically cuts offwith no warning. Has had some near accidents because of it, and no one can fix the problem.
My fuel cap vented gasoline, violently. Fuel ran down my body panels below the gas cap as vapor/liquid spewed out of the car. It seems the fuel system was over pressurized. I was at chinn's lake in colorado. Elevation is roughly 11,000 feet. Temp was around 70f. Gas tank was around half full with premium gas from costco. From what i have read, it appears the gasoline began to boil and needed to vent. This can be from a faulty evap system, an overheated fuel system, ethanol in the gasoline, etc...
Dashlights stay out for 40 minutes at a time.vehicle has beenatdealer's 8 times. It has to happen again for them to find cause.

Experienced a total break failure while driving.my abs booster pump failed.i had to have the car towed to get repaired.
Turned vehicle on to drive my son to school. Proceeded 5 blocks and heard warning sound coming from dash. 2 seconds later while crossing major intersection 8 lane avenue in the bronx new york, loss complete power to brakes. Pedal went to the floor with no power at all. Used e brake to come to a cruising stop in front of 49th police precinct. Almost collided with full size school bus while trying to e brake stop.master cylinder complete failure diagnosed by mechanic. Total cost for repairs $3k dollars.no previous warning before this incident, no previous problems braking before this incident.problem is well known among land cruiser owners. Checked ih8mud.com for more cases involving this model vehicle from toyota.i've had more than 15 cars in my lifetime, some with very high mileage. Never had complete brake failure. I think about the possibility if i was on highway doing 65mph with no shoulder or traffic ahead. This problem should be rectified as there are numerous cases i've been reading about regarding this particular model and the years 1998-1999.if i would have known about this problem, i would have never ever purchase this vehicle. Please do something about this. Toyota is hiding behind technicalities as usual.
Low speed - parking the vehicle - lost the brake power -can't stop the vehicle
While turning left at 5mph the abs and brake light suddenly went on and a high pitched sound came from the dash. The brakes failed completely with the pedal going to the floor and i rear ended the car in front of me. Had it towed to a toyota dealer repair shop. Told that the abs activator master cylinder failed.
I was driving 30mph , i heard the noise , i tried to brakes, it was complete failure . Luckilyno trafficthat time on the road . Accelerator releasedand vehicle slowed down and stopped without brakes.

The contact owns a 1999 toyota land cruiser. While traveling 15 mph, the contact noticed a high pitched sound coming from inside of the vehicle. Moments later, the contact noticed that the brakes had suddenly stopped functioning and the vehicle was safely coasted to a stop. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the contact was informed that the abs assembly needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The current and failure mileages were 157,000. The vin was not available.

Shedepressed the brake pedal which went down to the floor but did not slow or stop the vehicle. She made a u-turn, coasted into a driveway, shifted into park and turned the vehicle off. The contact drove the vehicle to the dealership and the dealer told him that the brake booster assembly had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired at that time. He called the manufacturer and received a verbal commitment that the repair charges would be covered but it was later denied. There were no further problems with the braking system since that first failure. The current mileage was approximately 149,000. When driving at highway speeds sunroof wind deflector came loose from roof and broke. Has happened twice.
I purchased this vehicle from rocky's auto mass in worcester massachusettes. I was told it was inspectable. I had it shipped to vermont and my local inspection station explained that the frame is completely missing in certain areas and the vehicle can not be inspected or driven.
I have a set of tire i purchaseddot b73r c4ux 3111michelin ltx/mssize: p275/70r16one tire has exhibited tread/belt separation. I have a large bulge in the center of the tread with excessive air loss. I have read that there are several recalls on this type tire although this size is not listed.

While waiting at a stop sign,the vehicle started to accelerate. The unexpected occurrence of acceleration caused the consumer to lose control of vehicle and rear ended the vehicle in front.after checking vehicles, the consumer returned to the vehicle and noticed the cruise control light was on when it was never engaged. The manufacturer and the dealer were aware of the problem.there was a snow condition at the time of the incident and the vehicle was unable to stop as it slid and the antilock brakes pulsated due to the sliding action. *sc
1999 toyota landcruiser had unintended acceleration. Took it to dealer 5 years ago, they did not believe it. But eventually fixed it at my cost. Should that model also be recalled? my wife was driving it and could not stop. We still have the car and have not had problems once it was repaired at beechmont toyota,cin.,ohio.
