Bad accident air bags did not deploy car was totalled. Also the car is supose to stop if something is in the way. And the side sensor did not work a couple times something got close on the side warning never went off. After accident a light on the dash said saftey malfunction.

I was hit from behind by a speeder in which caused significant damages to my vehicle. No airbags deployed. I was advised when purchasing this car that toyota connects detects crashes and that the emergency system would call the car. Unfortunately, not only did the airbags not deploy but the emergency system didn't not call the vehicle as i was advised. My vehicle has defects and the manufacturer is responsible. I purchased this vehicle brand new thinking it could keep me safe driving. The manufacturer has highly disappointed me and failed to adhere to vehicle safety.

When i was driving on the way to work. Other car from the side hit to my car. I wore the seatbelt but the airbags didn't work. One day, after the accident my body felt hurt especially the shoulder and the back. I went to see a chiropractor to check then they said i needed to do treatment at least a few months.

I was waiting at a stoplightwith my foot on the break waiting for it to turn green. I turn the wheel to make a left turn and put my foot on the gas and the car diedall the buzzers whistles and lights were flashing on the dashboard.. I was able to shift the car to park and back to drive but nothing happened i was in the middle of traffic on a busy street and was just getting ready to call the tow truck when i decided to turn the car off. When i turned it back on it was fine and i was able to turn left.that happened to me twice on different occasions. Third time i was turning into a driveway and a truck pulled in front of me i had to put my foot on the break. And then i put my foot on the gas and turned left then right into the driveway and it died.ithe dashboard saidput in park when i put it in park it said engine power low. The first time i took it in to toyota i was sitting there for six hours and they could find nothing wrong. They told me they were working with corporate and no one had an answer for me. The battery tray (part number 74404-12560) which holds the vehicle's battery creates an unsafe condition.i noticed the battery tray is designed to fit only the panasonic battery that came with the vehicle.thus, it is impossible to replace a discharged or defective panasonic battery with a standard bci group number battery which are readily available in retail stores.this situation will cause motorists to become stranded and is especially unsafe if the panasonic battery fails and needs to be replaced in the winter.toyota should be required to recall the 2020 corolla and replace the battery tray with a new tray designed to fit a standard bci group battery. *ln

We bought the car on 07-29-19 and on 08-04-19 while driving home from maryland the car sensor lights started flashing after only 250 miles on the car. The flashing lights were for brakes and parking brake, lane departure and assist, back up and front camera, check engine, tire pressure, head lights, and rsa malfunctions. Basically the entire safety system of the car malfunctioned while i was driving. This happened on five different occasions while driving it. 7-29-19, 8-2, 5, 9-19 and the car was in motion each time while on a highway. I had it to the dealer twice and they are still working on it. The first time they said the car needed to be reprogrammed and they couldn't duplicate the problem and the second time the service manager is claiming it is a wire which i find it difficult to believe since there are multiple codes and i don't think they all go through one wire. Our family does not feel comfortable driving the car when all of these lights are flashing and not knowing if the car is safe to drive and if the safety features in the car will operate properly. I have video and pictures of the codes that were flashing if needed. I could not upload them due to the size of the files.

After another driver failed to yield right-of-way, i experience a fault with the automated driving assist system which during a merge of two highways in california; and failure of road structuresallowed an older passenger truck to hit the toyota's driver's rear tire and wheel well at a high rate of speed without evasive, defensive or warning from the 2020 corolla hybrid's

On more than one occasion i was going between 5-10 miles an hour and the car sputtered and felt like it was going to shut off. I told the dealership when i took the car in for regular service and the told me the computer did not find anything wrong and they could not replicate the problem when driving it. Also when accelerating the car will make a clunking sound. Again the dealership denied a problem. These issues have happened multiple times

Engine abnormal shift downward while driving regularly.i feel the shift is not smooth even feels like a defect in the engine shift system17,000 miles mostly happens regularly driving on city streets and a bit less happens on the parkway but does happen.the shifts are hard to ignore i remember the very time i felt it on 10,000 miles and it would able occasionally and now it's happening even more frequently than i can possibly say this is an ongoing defect and growing to be a problem even more so.

Will driving the car decelerated and would not go pass 20mph. Break, engine, ect. Lights turned on. The car has only 1345 miles. So far it has happened twice. Second time going to the dealership.

The contact owns a 2020 toyota corolla. The contact was concerned that the vehicle was manufactured without a heat shield. The contact was informed by an independent mechanic that it was possible for the exhaust to get hot enough to cause a vehicle fire. The vehicle was taken to the bill page toyota located at 2923 annandale rd, falls church, va 22042, and it was confirmed that the vehicle was no longer manufactured with a heat shield. The contact was informed that an after-market part could be purchased and installed. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact was concerned that other vehicle manufacturers manufactured their vehicles with heat shields. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a case was filed. The approximate failure mileage was 1,500.

The regular headlight beams do not light up the road. They light half of the road. The road in front of the driver is completely dim. The only way to more than a car length in front of the car is to activate the high beams. Even then you are limited on how much light the headlights put on the road. I am blinded by oncoming cars. I cannot see deer when they jump out from the side of the road. I cannot read address signs that are basically reflective and in front of the car on the road unless i drive directly upon them and shine the high beams.

The drivers side head light has a v shape "void" in its pattern and makes the car unsafe to drive at night.the passenger side does not exhibit this same pattern, so when negotiating a left hand curve, the void is very noticeable and makes seeing up ahead in the distance very difficult (not possible).this happens to fall in the area of what i would call my "look ahead distance" and as such makes the car unsafe to drive at night.this "void" is not present when the head lights are put on "high", so i feel it is a led light bulb issue more than anything else...but the servicing dealer refuses to fix this problem citing a similar 2020 corolla displays the same pattern.they pulled another car into the shop and displayed it along with mine against a wall.while i agree the patterns on the wall looked similar, this was not a good test because you need to see what pattern of light is cast down range at night.please see attached picture.if all newer model corolla se exhibit this light pattern, than the vehicles need to be recalled and fixed along with mine.

There is a defect to the left headlight of this vehicle causing the light from the low beam to be blocked beyond a distance of 60 feet from the front of the vehicle in a specific pattern to suggest that it is the result of an abberasion of the lens assembly. The defect is pronounced on unlit roadways because is severely affects the ability of the operator to identify the left hand lane markings and any road signs. The light disappears in a "v" pattern of approximately 130 degrees from when the initial source of light is pronounced up to a distance of 60'. Note that the right headlight suffers no lighting loss and the field of vision left to the left of the unlit portion is well lit. Gateway toyota (the selling dealer) and per their service manager, toyota usa describes this as being a normal characteristic of this vehicle and all vehicles with projector-style headlights per "svmss" guidelines.as a former vehicle defect inspector, motor vehicle and heavy equipment cause and origin loss investigator, nj state safety and emissions inspector, ase master-certified collision repair technician, ase-certified automotive repair technician, mercedes-benz certified service, parts and collision director and tesla-certified collision estimator having overseen the successful repair of thousands of front end impacts requiring headlight re-aiming and programming as required, i certify that this is a safety defect unique to this vehicle that continues to affect its safe operation with no assistance from toyota usa in reaching a resolution.

Drive assist occasionally swerves out of lanes at parked vehicles, pedestrians, and even cars in on coming lanes. Happens inconsistently and is unpredictable.when the car is perfectly centered with drive assist on,you begin to let your gaurd down. Which is when you least expect your car to forcibly turn the steering wheel at an unsuspected bicyclist.

2020 toyota corolla se -(vehicle purchased new) (cvt transmission) upon minimal to normal acceleration vehicle makes a hard shift feel like a bump kick in acceleration of speed between 8-9 mph. Will feel more of a hard shift at times if coasting with minimal speed then to the normal acceleration (start and stop traffic type of conditions). Periodically once reaching to speed of 36 mph seems like the transmission is starting to slip then continues with normal operation. While sedentary at stop light vehicle has had loss of power in and outnear stalling out. Separate occasion without the air conditioner being on, a rough idol took place. At times if put in sports mode shifting is smooth without too much trouble; with exception of at higher speed open road removing off the gas pedal will make a whining high rev noise like the transmission went out and did not down shift even with pressure applied to the brake. Will then down shift after approximately 15-20 seconds. Lane departure indicators have gone off without there being a correct response for that action taking place. Vehicle has been owned for less than ninety days and appears to continually further in its defects.

Gas tank filler neck made of partial plastic. Won't seal with gas pump nozzle. Must use two hands to pump gas. One hand holding handle while other hand must hold nozzle applying pressure to create a seal to pump gas. Something lucky able to set handle on auto fill, but very loose seal and would pop out with the lightest vibration and handle fall out of fill neck spilling a lot of gasoline on the ground. Happen at 3 different gas station. One time spilling gas on ground was with healy brand nozzle.

At slow speeds and stop and go driving the car suddenly stalls.the car was taken into a toyota service center and they were unable to find an error code or replicate the problem.this has happened twice in a week.

Starting monday afternoon (01/18/2021) my car has begun to stall everyday. It continues to stall now. Thursday (01/21/2021) i almost had a accident because my car would not go no matter how hard i pressed the gas. I took my car to the dealership were i am leasing it (01/21/2021) and they could not find the problem. I saw on the toyota website that my car was apart of the fuel pump recall even though when i enter my vin nothing popped up. May you please assist me? i have to work and i need my vehicle in order to do that.

07/09/19 - three days after taking delivery of a brand new 2020 corolla sedan, my car stalled in the middle of a busy city street.i was stationary with foot on the brake waiting to make a left turn.when i took my foot of the brake and attempted to accelerate, it had a complete power failure.red warning light came on saying engine power low.i was unable to start the car again for several minutes.i was nearly hit by cars going around me.i took it to the dealer for service and there were no error codes and they could not duplicate the problem.08/06/19 - my brother was driving on a highway in stop and go conditions during rush hour traffic.with his foot on the gas pedal, the entire vehiclejerked or jumped several times in succession, stopped and then did the same thing twice more.it felt as if it was going to lose power or not getting enough gas.i took it back to same dealer for service.once again, no error codes and they were unable to duplicate the problem.service foreman told me those 2 incidents were definitely related.i reported both issues very dangerous incidents to toyota customer support as i feel that i am driving an unsafe vehicle.at first, they were receptive and even sent a toyota factory representative to inspect the car.then my case manager told me they found nothing wrong and "could not verify my concerns".she said there was nothing more they could do and there were no repairs to be made.after doing more research online, i found that the 2019 corolla hatchback was recalled in december 2018 to replace the cvt transmission due to a manufacturing error that could cause loss of motive power.the info i read stated the exact same engine is in the 2020 corolla sedan, but it has not been included in a recall.i am very concerned for my safety, as well as that of my passengers, and other vehicles.

Transmission stuttering at steady speed more pronounced on inclines. Violent skipping or slipping on acceleration

Vehicle has a very hard shift out of launch "first gear" when low on fuel or the engine is cold. Dealership (sheehy toyota in fredericksburg va) and could experience the same feeling on light to moderate acceleration. I informed the dealership that the feeling they were experiencing is minor compared to what it usually feels like when driving. They experienced the same thing when driving another 2020 corolla off the lot with light to moderate acceleration. Then a day later they drove another 20202 corolla supposedly for another 30 minutes and could not duplicate the hard shift and noted that when driving both the customers car and a new car the shift feeling varied from time to time so there was nothing they would do. They also said they contacted the engineers at toyota who said that this hard shift feeling was normal. Looks like toyota is back at it with just deny everything and hope the problem goes away. Very unhappy with my experience especially with how toyota has handled this so far. I will not go away until they fix this problem.

This is the third time that when i was trying to park my car after completely stopped the car (braked while the car is in the drive) then move my stick shift to reverse and the stick shift is fully in reverse but car moves forward.

Vehicle is jerking and shuttering while in motion between 4-20mph cold or hot and a/c on or off. This occurs before braking and seems to jerk forward. Tends to occur more often in parking lots. This issue is accompanied by aggressive engine shaking and all passengers can feel the rough idle. Thisissue is progressive getting worse with time over the last few months. Took vehicle to dealer, spark plugs was the assumed issue from technician. First diagnosis was spark knock. Replaced spark plugs, did not fix the problem. Second diagnosis was "off center steering wheel causing stability control to override driver throttle inputs and lead to jerky operation" case is ongoing and a resolution hasn't been provided or solved. Toyota corp. Is opening an investigation/case.

Between 10 and 20 mph occasionally, not always, there is a hard shift that doesn't feel normal. It is usually under light acceleration and conditions. Even trying to mimic it under the same exact conditions, sometimes it will simply not do it.. Sometimes it will be a hard thump. Other times it will feel premature. (shifting before it should) i wanted to believe it is the transition from the launch gear to the cvt but the timing of the transition and the degree of the hard shift even under the same conditions tends to vary considerably.

On slow braking at speeds like 1-2mph, the pedal vibrates with spring effect. The issue is with brake pedal spring which toyota is not ready to fix. Shown to dealership, and service director at dealership said they cannot reproduce the issue and sent me away.second time, i filed complaint and had toyota tech had a look on it, the dealership director then updated me saying that toyota tech was able to feel the spring vibration and they don't have a fix for it now and the sprint vibration exists on all new 2020 model toyota corolla's.request toyota to issue a fix for this and address the issue.

I was driving down a hill approaching a stop sign when my brakes gave out and stopped working the road was damp and it was slight rain. I pressed down on my brakes 5 times and nothing happened to make the car stop so my car kept driving towards a ditch and i almost fell off a hill into more trees.

Exiting freeway. Made a left. Slowed down at red light. Realized the car wasn't stopping. Slammed brake pedal to floor. Car continued to move and hit another car. Police report made. Collision location at 3520 massachusetts ave, lemon grove, ca 91945. This is a new car and no reason for brakes to not be working.

Happens inconsistently and is unpredictable.when the car is perfectly centered with drive assist on,you begin to let your gaurd down. Which is when you least expect your car to forcibly turn the steering wheel at an unsuspected bicyclist.

On first day of purchase when i came out of my driveway left fender popped out .i took it to the dealer they pushed the fender back in. The next day fender popped out again and i returned the car to the dealer for being unsafe to be driving. Dealer tooked tha car back but kept my $2772.84. This car is a poorly built unsafe junk.

My daughter was driving the car on the freeway and the 2 rear tires blow out the car only has 18k miles on it and i ask toyota if the tires have a warranty and they said no so my daughter had to buy 3 new tires she spend 1200 also a sensor got damaged her car spin out of control she was lucky she didn't hit other car . What can i do about this, please help my phone number is +[xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

My car was sold with the odometer rolled back (fraud odometer). I bought with 6074 miles and when i went to the toyota for maintenance they reported me more than 88.000 miles.

This is the third time that when i was trying to park my car after completely stopped the car (braked while the car is in the drive) then move my stick shift to reverse and the stick shift is fully in reverse but car moves forward.

A glare from the steering column prevents you from seeing the instrument cluster during the day. Hazardous as you can't see your speed or the information screens about the vehicle. Car is affected anytime during the day.

Every time it rains the doors gets filled up with water from the rainfall

Dealer stated that there was a chemical buildup on the inside of the windshield that could affect the safety camera sensor (they claimed it was probably windex). Dealership claimed that the camera enclosure is not sealed and particulate may enter the enclosure. Said the problem is not covered under warranty. What happens is someone is a smoker or lives on a dirt road? does toyota expect particulate in the enclosure to be acceptable? this may impact the performance of the safety systems, especially if there is sun glare. I bought the car in october 2019.

In an empty parking lot around noontime on a sunny day, i was trying to park my car.the car was in drive forward mode. I fully stopped for parking the car; i had to backup a little bit. After full stop (to protect my transmission), i moved the gear stick from drive to reverse and drive stick was showing me, i am in reverse, but the car instead of going back, started moving forward. Fortunately, the parking lot was empty and nobody got hurt, otherwise this would have seriously injured somebody in front of the car. However, when i moved the drive stick from drive to park and then come back to reverse this did not happen.i started searching in internet whether anybody else has experienced the same problem. I found out that other people have experienced the same problem and for fixing the problem what they had to do had to update the car's computer software, otherwise if one after full stop goes from drive directly to reverse, the car might start going forward. This problem, without software update can happen only in certain batch of the cars. So make sure you test your car and if you have the same problem, do not drive the car and take it back to the dealer for software update.consumer stated it recurred several times.

Was on a head on collision the air bags failed to open no breaks or indication that the breaks were failing.once the vehicle was in the shop shortly after the battery exploded sed .now the care is totally for all the frond end damage and the cost of the batter would be ten thousand dollars.i was driving interstate 15 in riverside california rear end the car in front.

When driving or going over bumps it sounds like there's a rock stuck somewhere underneath the vehicle

Bought a 2020 toyota corolla from servco hawaii in feb 2020. 4 months later car would stutter, 5 months later call stalled while in motion, in heavy traffic, on a street, on a straight away. I almost got rear ended. Car has less than 5000 miles. Servco hawaii could not duplicate the stall and asked me to take the car back and monitor it. I refused because i could endanger myself and others.

No android auto

With only about 630 miles on my new 2020 toyota corolla, the vehicle stalled shortly after i had just made a turn in city traffic; i believe i was stopped at a light, and it wouldn't start up again when i put my foot on the gas.i had to have the car towed to the dealership where i'd bought it five months earlier; they gave it a thorough inspection, acknowledged the fact of the stall, but never found the cause of it (couldn't "duplicate the problem").they had no problem starting the car once it was at their service.this was a one-time incident and i have had no problems since; i am now at over 1,400 miles.but it makes me uneasy that the source of the issue was never uncovered--especially now that i know there is a recall on 2020 corollas for faulty fuel pumps.(the fuel pump was the one thing that was never investigated at the time of the stall; the service person didn't think it was necessary.)

I keep having issues where radar cruise and lane assist shut off randomly with the message that radar cruise is unavailable . This has happened since new and has been looked at by toyota 4 times with no repair

I was driving down the road and my driver window blew up. Yes, it blew up into a million pieces all over me and hit my face. Nothing had hit my windshield. None of my windows were down. I thought i was getting shot at, the noise of it blowing terrified me! i took my car to toyota and said there was nothing they could do!! my warranty won't even cover it! it's 700 dollars to fix it. I know this was not my fault and nothing hit my window it would have not exploded if that was the case.

The contact owns a 2020 toyota corolla. While driving 60 mph the windshield cracked without warning or impact. Additionally, while vehicle was parked the windshield cracked. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the contact was informed the windshield needed to be replaced. The contact called and informed nalley toyota union city 4115 jonesboro rd, union city, ga 30291, (770) 284-8361) about the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was contacted but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was 20. The vin was not available.

The windshield washer fluid sprays over the car onto cars/road behind the car. The washer fluid also sprays into the car of the sunroof is open. Toyota dealership reports that it's 'operating as designed' and did not fix the problem. This is concerning because it could distract the driver behind me when i try to clean the windshield and they could run into my vehicle, possible causing a multi-car crash.

2020 model/4-months old:a stress fracture of the windshield occurred suddenly for no apparent reason. Upon inspection the fracture started at the point of installation under the hood with no other obvious signs of damage or impact.the fracture starts at the edge of the glass and runs up to eye-level, then runs across the windshield.

Wavy windshield.disorienting when in motion. Dealer said all vehicles have this.i have check and all do not.they said it is known but not a defect.i believe it is poor lamination and along with a bad view may not protect in an accident. I don't believe it is 'normal"
