When i drove my car into my garage, the car accelerated and smashed into my back garage wall (a load bearing wall), completely detaching it from the top and bottom.i decided to back up the car a foot for clearance for meinto my house, but the car then accelerated backwards into the street ramming into my neighbor's vehicle.while my car was nowsmashed front and back, none of the air bags deployed.i put the car back in drive to remove it from my neighbor's car and again, it accelerated, racing down the street and, across a busy intersection.i had my foot on the brake andwas pulling on the emergency (or parking) brake and it finally came to a stop.the police were called and came but said since it was only property damage there would be no report.i shut off the ignition.

On 08/11/2017 my daughter was driving through a intersection when another vehicle failed to yield in front of her. She was involved in a head on collision and the airbags did not deploy on her 2016 toyota corolla. The body shop said the car should have been totaled but due to the airbags not deploying, the insurance company did not total the vehicle. I feel we were treated unfairly due to this. My daughter also suffered injuries from the incident. Two years later we see there is a recall for the airbags.

I checked my vin number for recalls.manufacturer recall number 20tb03, nhtsa recall number 20v024, dated: jan 17, 2020 and read; 'the subject vehicles may be equipped with an electronic control unit (ecu) from a specific supplier designed to receive signals from crash sensors and deploy the airbags and seat belt pretensioners. The ecu may not have adequate protection against certain electrical noise that can occur in certain crashes, such as severe underride crashes. This can lead to incomplete or nondeployment of the airbags and/or seat belt pretensioners.'

I was making a left-hand turn on a two-lane highway. The individual behind me was not paying attention and did not stop. Instead of swerving to the right to miss me, she swerved into the oncoming traffic lane just as i was turning left. Her gmc 2500 heavy duty pick-up impacted my car at the driver door, front pillar, front fender.the impact pushed my car over 30 ft down the road before pushing my car approximately 20 ft off the road, up a slight hill. In this impact, no airbags deployed. The state trooper at the scene, the insurance company, and the tow truck driver are all stunned by this fact. In this accident my head hit the pillar next to my door causing me to be knocked unconscious, giving me a concussion and causing a head laceration requiring staples in my head. The tow truck driver said the cartridge in the seat belt assembly did not deploy and my collar bone was broken as well. My car was going about 5 miles per hour at the moment of impact. I was sitting in traffic prior to making the left-hand turn.in addition, i did have a progressive snap-shot installed in the car.

I was in car accident and rear ended my airbags failed deploy and seat beltseat belt pretensioners to stop force my body felt ragged dogged as being hit my neck felt it was going snapped i was scared for life.i was on city city street stopped at red light when rear ended by large suv. I have been in two accidents where both times i was ran off the road into a ditch.in neither accident did any of the air bags deploy but i definitely hit hard enough in which they should had. One time my child was in the back seat. I hit a ditch filled with huge rocks the first accident was settled at over $1700 and the 2nd accident is still in the claims portion of the accident, where i was ran off the road. The air bags should had deployed but from the negative publicity it may had caused more damage, and thatbis very scary to think about seeing that my 5 year old was involved in one of the accidents. The accident was on a road with a speed limit of 35-40 mph with no stop signs or stop lights until the end of the estimated 2 mile road.

I was involved in an accident in 8/19 where i was hit from behind. I was injured and now i found out there's a recall on the airbags and the seatbelts. The airbag did not deploy and the seatbelt do not tighten to keep me from breaking my nose and damaging my c4/c5/c6/c7 in my neck. The car was totaled and i no longer have it in my possession. The accident is well documented

This is a report of brake failure that caused a vehicle collision with injuries.on october 29, 2016, i rented a 2016 toyota corolla from a betterway rent-acar, inc. D/ba budget rent a car of atlanta, at 6509 roswell rd, atlanta, ga 30328. The toyota had 21,619 miles at the time of the rental.at approximately 12:30pm i was driving southeast on jimmy carter blvd in norcross georgia. The weather was clear and sunny and the road was dry. Upon departing a traffic light, i accelerated to approximately 20 mph in moderate traffic towards vehicles waiting at the intersection of jimmy carter blvd and rockbridge school road one block away. I began applying the brakes long before reaching the vehicles waiting at the next intersection, however the car's brake action was minimal. As i completely depressed the brake pedal, i heard a clicking sound similar to the engagement of an anti-lock braking system (abs), however there was no significant deceleration. When i fully depressed the brake pedal, i did not hear an increase in engine rpm, the automatic transmission did not downshift, and the vehicle did not accelerate.as a result of the toyota's brake failure, i impacted a stationary vehicle at the intersection of jimmy carter blvd and rockbridge school road. The toyota's airbags did not deploy. There were no skidmarks at the scene of the accident.i suffered injuries as well as multiple occupants in the other vehicle.

Takata recall

The airbag light on the passenger side of the car started blinking red when the car is off, when the car is on the light says the airbag is off. I took it to the toyota dealer like i was recommended to do after checking the recall website. Auto nation toyota at 12111 gulf freeway in houston texas for them to fix the problem.afterin less than an hour the service attendant called me and told me that the car needed the windshield wipers replaced and the ac and engine filters needed to be replaced and it was going to cost 4 or 5 hundred dollars to fix. When i told her i just wanted the airbags fixed she told me the car was ready and i could come and pick it up. When i got there to pick it up the airbag light was still on as if nothing was done to fix the problem. When i told her that they did not fix the car that the airbag light was still on. I was told that there is a lot of work involved in fixing the problem to where the light would go of such as sensors, electrical, and computer resetting. And that they are only required to replace the airbag. I responded with "that was not was i was informed. I was informed that you are supposed to repair the problem and repairing the problem means that the light would go off in its original state or how would i know that the problem is fixed." he said i was informed wrong especially if i got the information off the internet. In other words, he was telling me that it was too much work for them to repair for free. So what do i do now, am i suppose to continue to drive in an unsafe car i feel like because i was not willing to pay for the services that to be repaired then they were not going to do anything at all. That tells me that they are price gouging and doing illegal business practices and something needs to be done immediately.

Open recall since 1/17/2020. Nhtsa recall# 20v024manufacturer recall# 20tb03there is a huge safety risk with my vehicle's airbags/seatbelts, that toyota still hasn't found a remedy for??!! how am i to feel about my wife and 2-year old son riding in that car daily? i have a vehicle i'm making payments on, but am very hesitant about using? how many resources/hours are being dedicated to fixing this issue? i don't understand how it can be taking so long, for such an enormous safety risk.

While i was driving on a street, my car started to stall, and die, this has happened 3 times. It just happened today, i was driving on the street, and the engine just stopped, and car stopped running, i had to pull over and make sure it was in drive, and start it up again. I almost got hit by another car, because the engine stopped running.another time i was driving on the street about to get on the freeway, and the car stalled, died. I checked to make sure it was in drive, adjusted it and then kept going.i called the dealer today, and will take my car there in mesa, az on saturday to be checked. It seemed there was a recall for this same problem, but with toyota tacomas. I am really concerned about my safety! i'm driving, and all of a sudden my car just stops running and dies.the car shuts off without warning, and there are no lights or messages inside my car, to let me know what the problem is. My car is only a 2016, which i purchased new.i only have a little over 60,000 miles. The problem is unknown to me.

Trac off, check engine, and maintenance required lights suddenly appeared while the corolla was being driven on a state road. The car had just passed its 20,000 warranty check with no problems. I was on the way to a regularly scheduled oncology appointment. I had to cancel the appointment and drive the car to the dealer. Technicians determined a rodent had chewed through the transmission control harness. This problem is not covered by any toyota warranty. So far, i've been forced to spend nearly $1,000 on rodent-related repairs. I have stage iv cancer. I bought this car expressly to have reliable transportation to cancer treatments, most of which are out of state. I can't afford these rat-related repairs. Letters and phone calls to toyota have proved futile and frustrating. The rats are considered by the corporation as an outside source, and therefore, not covered by any warranty. The "outside source" is the soy that was stupidly used to make the insulation protecting the engine's electrical wiring, crisscrossing the engine. I had a 1991 toyota that i parked in the same unprotected, driveway spot for nearly 25 years where the newer corolla is now parked. There were no rodent issues whatsoever. Same for a 1991 jeep wrangler. Ditto a 1997 buick lasabre. The only car being eaten by mice and rats is the newest car--the 2016 corolla with soy-based wiring. Soy is a food source. I know. I grew up on a farm and we fed it to our cows as a protein source. I need a reliable, economical car to get to lifesaving cancer treatments. This car isn't it. Toyota could care less. For that, the company needs to be held accountable. They are risking the lives of everyone who owns one of these rat trap cars. So far, toyota has absolved themselves of all responsibility for this inherent and dangerous manufacturing defect. I can't fight stage iv breast cancer and toyota. Thank you.

The contact owns a 2016 toyota corolla. The contact stated that when attempting to accelerate, the vehicle failed to accelerate. The vehicle's speedometer failed to indicate the accurate speed of the vehicle. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer where the failure was unable to be determined. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer had not been made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 3,000.

After purchasing this car, we noticed that the front speakers were not working correctly.it was taken to a repair shop and the mechanic indicated that they were not installed correctly at the factory.the electrical speaker contacts were pointed upwards which effectively damaged them over time from the moistureaccumulating within the front doors.both speakers, passenger and driver sides, indicating the wiring error.both were replaced by the shop and at their suggestion, i am alerting you to the problem.

The door locks are malfunctioning causing the door not to open. When simply pushing the button on the fob or even placing the car into park the door attempt to unlock but fail. Some door locks operate fine and some get stuck. Passenger front lock and rear driver locks are having this issue on my toyota. This occurs when stationary.

The contact owns a 2016 toyota corolla. While attempting to start the vehicle, it failed to start. The vehicle was towed to sheehy toyota of fredericksburg (3507 jefferson davis hwy, fredericksburg, va 22408 (540) 710-8500) where it was diagnosed that the fuel pump and relay wiring had been chewed. The wiring needed to be replaced. The vehicle was at the dealer being repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The contact researched online and found that the wiring was made of a soy based material versus a petroleum based material, which attracted rodents. The failure mileage was approximately 10,000.

Electrical system which on the board (green color)has malfunction causing the eps or steering wheel becoming stiff and battery to drained. When car is running and accidentally run over something like hump or any debris the malfunction will start. This is what happenned to me when i was about to turn right theres a hump.this part cost a lot and hopefully toyota will enlighthen with this problem. I just want to help and let others be aware. I just currently bought my toyota corolla last march 2016 and i dont think i deserve to pay the cost of this malfuction which toyota made. Thank you very much and i am looking forward for your help. Just imagine if this thing happen to you or to your family. Thank you

I was involved in a car accident on 2/20/2020 my vehicle was in motion. I felt my 2016 toyota corolla lose traction on the road and start to slip. My traction control light never came on and i never felt it engage. I hydroplaned, my car hit a guardrail head on, my seat belt did not tighten which caused me to hit my head and chest on the steering wheel and dash as well as injuries to my neck from being slung forward.my vehicle continued to impact the guardrail. My air bags didn't deploy which also caused me to hit my head and shoulder hard on the driver window/door. Upon the multiple impacts and despite sensors being struck, my air bags failed to deploy throughout my vehicle and my seat belt failed to tighten. Causing injury to different areas of my body.

Tamara inflator recall. I parked my car overnight, it was just fine, no problems. When i started it the next morning ebs and brake warning light came on.i didn't even move the car. Now i'm told the sensors mat be out. Had my brakes checked they are good. I just don't understand why this happened to a car that wasn't even moving. The car was parked in my driveway and locked

Whelp my 2016 toyotacorolla l has a issue with the sensorthis car is only a month old i tool it to the dealership and the stated the nitrogen in my tires are to cold, well its summer time in florida and nothing cold everyday i have had a issue with the sensor. 2016 toyota corolla. Consumer writes in regards to illuminated warning light, trac off, check engine and maintenance required lights. *ldthe consumer complained of mice eating away at the vehicle causing mutiple vehicle failures.

The contact owns a 2016 toyota corolla. While driving various speeds, the contact detected an abnormal odor in the vehicle and the check engine warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the charcoal canister fractured. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer to be diagnosed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and stated that the vehicle was not included in a recall. The failure mileage was approximately 65,000.

Car began with issues switching gears. It would hesitate to go into gear and once it was finally in gear it began to buck. Currently stationed overseas and brought my car to toyota multiple times and was told they wouldnā€™t look at it since itā€™s an american spec toyota and not a european. After a week of trying to get it fixed with no luck the vehicle began getting worse and wasnā€™t able to go above 35 miles an hour. Finally the check engine light came on. Brought it into a local mechanic and a p 2820 j code was the issue. After researching online i found that toyota had a service campaign for the same issues i was having. The problem is with the ecu and the cars solenoid. Currently trying to get it repaired but toyota will not help since iā€™m stationed overseas in europe and itā€™s an american toyota. Toyota usa has been little to no help with the issue so i have had to stop driving the vehicle since itā€™s a safety hazard to my family.

I drove to toyota arlington for tire rotation on 2/4/21 and the car was running fine. Odometer was 44091 miles. After leaving the dealership, i drove about a mile then the engine lost power. The car could only go about 5 mph. The car jerk up and down as if i drove on the rail road tracks. The check engine light, trac off and red steering wheel symbol lit up but not flashing. I went back to the dealer right away. I turned the car off, the attendant turned it back on. The check engine, track off and steering symbols were off. The code was not saved, so on 2/8/21 the independent shop could not duplicate the problem (44132 miles). On 2/12/21 the same symptoms came back at 44175 miles. This time the check engine light flashing, track off light and steering wheel symbols came on but not flashing. My wife turned the car off, waited for a few minutes then turned it on. The check engine light was off but the trac off light remained on. In the past, after i turned the car off and turned it on one click, the symbols were on, and when the ignition turned on, the symbols were off. This is a safety issue. The car also smell like a burning tire. We were driving about 35 mph on lane number 1 (next to yellow lines median) on a county 4 lanes highway.the car slowed down to about 5 mph, jerk up and down and the car vibrates and it happened twice in a week. The car is only 4.5 years old and only 44175 miles. The second independent shop read the code as p0301, misfired. He suggested to bring the car to the dealer for toyota to fix it under powertrain warranty. No repair has been done yet.

The contact owns a 2016 toyota corolla. While the vehicle was parked outside of the garage, the contact turned the key in the ignition and the vehicle made an abnormal noise. Also, the steering wheel became difficult to turn and the power steering warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The dealer and manufacturer were not notified. The failure mileage was 75,500.

About a year after having my new car. It starting shifting hard out of gear when i took it to get maintance they said nothing was wrong with it. When the maintance light came on again. Took it to a local mechanic shop. And they said it might be a computer related. They told me they could doba transmission fluid change so i took it to toyota to have the fluid change to see if that would fix the problem but it didnt here recently like 5 months ago it started to shift really bad. And would kick back like if it was going to speed but it doesnt move any faster wont let me go pass the speed limit of 40 when in regular drive it rpms will go upp really high every time it kicks back. Its gotten so bad i cant drive it far places cause it only drives smooth in 3rd. Gear i cant drive it on highways cause it wont go up to the speed limit in the city it rpms to high and the car has a jerky feeling.i was told toyotas last a long time thats why i went with toyota cause i needed a reliable car. But everyone i spoke with has told me it doesnt sound right for a toyotas transmision to go out at 130000 mioes that they always last at least 300000 to 500000 miles so i feel like it should be recalled

My car only has 3,200 miles and today when i was in a traffic jam my car temperature blow up and i had to stop the car. It's practically a new car with a very low miles a usage. What happening???

2016 toyota corolla defect. The daytime running lights on/off switch is on the same control as the headlights. The dlrs turns on before reaching the low beam setting as you twist the control. The dlrs are almost as bright as the low beam headlights and utilize the same bulb at a lower wattage. They can be mistaken for your headlights at night and you will be driving around with no taillights because the taillights are not on when the switch is on the dlr setting. I got pulled over by a cop because i had no tail lights one night. The dealer has no solution for this problem. It is only a matter of time until this incompetent design kills someone. Toyota should fire the engineer behind this and order a recall and at the very least rewire the dlr switch to include taillights and boost the wattage on the dlr to low beam power. It amazes me that this defect would pass thru a company like toyota and make it to the market. This was a mistake on my part and i was already aware of it and had already brought every driver in my house out to the driveway to show them this dangerous condition. If a conscientious person like me can make this mistake, anyone can.

When driving this model, which i own, i believe the led lighting makes these cars unsafe at night. What i will call the led horizon which fluctuates greatly on hilly or uneven roads, causes loss of needed vision. Fluctuation in pavement reduces forward vision to as little as a car length going downhill & puts it into the clouds going uphill. & everything in between on slightly uneven roads. The horizon is caused by total lack of light - led lights don't shade or reflect gradually to darkness, but have that sudden cut off resulting in a tunnel vision effect. I have to live with & drive in foothills at night. I complained by phone & email to manufacturer. I brought up possible rewiring, different bulbs, anything at 5000 mile service & that i'd gladly pay for some lighting improvement. Dealer help said "no one else has complained" & there is nothing allowed nor available to help improve lighting. Manufacturer said they weren't aware of any problems. I cited 2015 corolla comments on this site & later emailed them the iihs study. Since toyota obviously has the prius v lighting figured out & this is a major safety issue i strongly believe all cars with led need to be brought up to safe standards. This doesn't mean just toyotas, but other brands affected. The little car is outdriving headlights at 30 mph. That & making all newer cars so low they sink into water puddles too easily are safety problems that need to be addressed industry wide. I'll give the date of 1st drive, but of course it is ongoing.

The contact owns a 2016 toyota corolla. The contact stated that while driving various speeds, the led headlights were activated but the low beams failed to illuminate adequate lighting on the road ahead, which distorted the visibility. The high beam headlights were engaged in order to view the road. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 250. The vin was unavailable.

Projector lights cause what appears to be a black curtain painted across the upper half of my windshield and i cannot see street signs. This curtain also bounces when going up and down any slope in the road and while going down slope the light appears to be driven down into the road surface.

I was blinded by the headlights of a toyota corolla. It almost led to an accident with a pedestrian. Please look into all 2015+ toyota corollas with the high intensity discharge lights seem to be aimed higher than normal or have improper lenses. When approaching they blind oncoming drivers. These economy cars are very common and problem is becoming worse as toyota did not recall them.

The contact owns a 2016 toyota corolla. While driving at night, the headlights did not illuminate. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed, but the cause of the failure was undetermined. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vin was not available. The failure mileage was 100.

In the last 5 days, i have seen at least 4 toyota corolla's with led headlights on the road at night without their taillights on. I believe the reason for this is that the led headlight option runs all day long, so people assume their lights are automatic? this is a huge safety concern as someone on the road at night cannot see these toyota corolla's in front of them when the taillights are off. In total, i have probably seen at least 40+ corolla's without their lights actually turned on, but the headlights always shine. I try to flash my lights at the drivers to signal the problem, but few realize the issue since they are unaware their lights are not automatically activated.

Toyota corolla stalled a couple of times after the initial start in the parking lot.on 2 ocassions it would not start and i had to leave it at a restaurant parking lot and a grocery store.when i returned itwould start. The last time, it would not startso i took it to a toyota dealership for repair and was told it was the fuel pump.

I have a 2016 toyota corolla with 50,525 miles on it. When i start my car, it doesn't wont to start-(the battery is ok). It has been stalling lately at a complete stop. It doesn't won't to go, even though i accelerate. I started to notice this in nov 2019. I first thought it was the weather or i needed a battery. But neither is the case. This car is only 4 years old and i shouldn't need a battery nor should i be having these issues

The contact owns a 2016 toyota corolla. While driving 25 mph, the contact noticed an abnormal odor of fuel inside the vehicle. The contact was flagged down by a resident who informed her that fuel was leaking from the vehicle. The contact pulled into a fuel station and turned the vehicle off. When attempting to turn the vehicle back on, it failed to start.the vehicle was then towed to sheehy toyota of fredericksburg (3507 jefferson davis hwy, fredericksburg, va 22408, 540-507-0076) where it was diagnosed that the fuel lines were cut or bitten through. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that the vin was not included in any recalls. The failure mileage was 20,500.

Check engine light lit.vehicle was taken to a toyota dealer for service.dealer stated that the fuel filler pipe leading to the fuel tank had multiple holes and required replacement of the fuel tank sub-assy.dealer stated that this was a common failure for corollas (vehicle is three years old).dealer stated that the fuel suction gasket had deteriorated and required replacement.

Brake pedal feels spongy or soft all the time. Have had vehicle to dealer 3 times for stuck fuel door (won't open). Every time nothing found wrong. Tech lubed and tried adjusting fuel door to no avail. Stuck fuel door doesn't happen all the time though. This is a safety issue especially for women who are trying to fuel up when on empty. Fuel door sticks while stationary. Brakes feel spongy when applying brakes while in motion or sitting still. Dealer looked at brakes and said they are fine. Have read several complaints on these corolla's having brake failure! what's next??? a crash in the making!!! will not buy toyo again.

Took my car in to have 6mos. Inspection done and i reported that i was smelling something like rotten eggs in my car. This happens at least 1-2 times a month and it happens after driving the car for a while.i am due to take the car in again andi will report that this problem again.my grand daughter was in my car and she asked me what that smell was???when this happens my car is usually in the park position, but running.when i first reported problem, they ck it out and said that they would keep a ck on this problem

2016 toyota corolla, 80,000 miles. I'm driving up a hill towards the freeway and my car slows and comes to a stop. I try to turn the car on and it won't turn on. Get it towed to a mechanic and they say the transmission failed and it'll be $8,000 to repair. This transmission failure came out of the blue and my car isn't even covered for it because my warranty expired at 75,000 miles. Contacted toyota usa and they said my car isn't covered under the cvt recall of certain 2014-2017 corollas so i'm left with this mysterious transmission defect which put me in a dangerous situation as i was trying to head onto the freeway!

Valve body assembly wore out on the car at 98,000 miles after a computer patch was applied to correct an issue with early wear on the part via a toyota recall

Transmission problem: my rpm is low and vibrates the car and loss of performance, while shifts gear improperly. I have 6 oem enhanced dtc, i can provide pictures, the important code is ecm/pcm code.abs: every time i hit a pothole, abs makes grinding noise.power steering problem: i did alignment, even after that my steering my car swerved to the left and right on highway, it's like i have to battle my car to be in the lane. Windshield wipers: the fastest level is not fast enough, also my windshield becomes like oilish, like it's hard to wipe my windshield, there are times in the heavy rain, lottery i could lose my way out, i slow down in case i hit something at least it will be minor damage.

While travelling on the highway in my 2016 toyota corolla, i am noticing frequent issues where if i slow down on the highway for any reason (such as traffic) and go to speed up or while accelerating uphill, the vehicle jerks while shifting into a lower gear, which startles me every time, and even hard enough to wake my 3 sleeping children in the backseat. This has been going on since august 2018 , and has been happening more often as time has passed. I have taken this vehicle to the dealership i purchased it from several times and they were unable to duplicate. Today, i took the mechanic on a ride along in the vehicle, and when it hesitated, i told him that was what it did (which is obviously a car characteristic going uphill) before jerking. He told me based on my statement that the entire thing "was what the car was supposed to do." it's supposed to jerk while shifting into a lower gear? i was essentially told that it was just something the corolla did and there was nothing that i can do. I know that this is not supposed to happen in any vehicle as part of my living is made on the road. No vehicle i have ever owned has shifted like this vehicle is. I haven't even owned the vehicle a full year, and now my children don't even want to get in my only car.

The car failed to accelerate properly when entering the highway.it would not exceed 45 miles per hour.toyota is aware of this transmission problem as they had previously issued a service campaign bulletin to address the faulty transmission.however, they have since suspended the recall leaving drivers who are experiencing this problem at risk. The only apparent solution is to replace the transmission at a cost of $9200 which may be why toyota is hesitating on issuing a proper recall. Unfortunately, i do not have $9200 so the car remains undriveable.

My daughters 2016 toyota corolla was taken in to have the cvt checked and it failed. Rick mcgill's toyota said it was unsafe to drive that it could lock up at 35 mph and they made her leave the car. They rebuilt the cvt and it failed again so they rebuilt it a 2nd time. They had the car for 29 days and said its good now but we have experienced a vibration immediately and while i was driving it up a hill the rfpm's kept flutuating back and forth. I returned it and they said it was fine. I don't trust this car nor transmission but my daughter is driving it to college? why didn't they have toreplace the whole transmission?

Received a service bulletin that the cvt needed a software update. We had this done at inver grove toyota.however, the rpm's continued to fluctuate while driving at lower speeds. Took it back to the dealer and then told the transmission needed to be replaced at the cost of $6000. Car has just over 62000 miles and toyota would not grant an exception to the warranty to cover the new transmission.we now have thr vehicle at an independent shop who is doing a diagnosis.if they find the transmission has failed, they will be replacing it with a used transmission from a salvage yard.

The car seems to be making a whining noise when first started from the transmission or torque converter, while in park, neutral. Also a rattling noise in reverse and drive! also on uphill roads from a stand still the transmission slips and makes a loud noise without accelerating occasionally. Also there seems to be a vibration coming from the car in higher speeds of 40+ and rubber banding when in slow less than 15 mph.

This time the check engine light flashing, track off light and steering wheel symbols came on but not flashing. My wife turned the car off, waited for a few minutes then turned it on. Sudden lost in speed weather it's to slow down or after coming to a stop happens infrequently usually having me to pull over turning of car and turning back on to correct the issue. Major concerns are when on the highway with traffic going anyware from 45 to 75 miles per hour having the car loose speed to less than 15mph is a real danger

Transmission is clunking and it seems like an extremely rough downshifting mostly at freeway speeds and it actually sounds and feels as though you've hit something on the road even though road was clear.i called the dealer and was told if it could not be duplicated that they wouldn't be able to figure out the problem.when i last brought it to dealer for oil change they put on the vehicle report that the transmission fluid was black and when i asked what should be done the service adviser didn't text back.the transmission seems to be slipping more often and i estimate the clunking and strange noise has happened 10-15 times at least.it is nerve wracking when it occurs because it is scary to feel that when you are driving on the freeway.

The air conditioner compressor after diagnostics weredone is shown to be failing already and it looks like others have had similar issues. The compressor just shuts itself off and straight hot air begins blowing, which is not fun or safe. It happened suddenly in dead heat and does not give any warning signs before going out. *dtconsumer was informed by the second diagnostic, thatinside the compressor literally came apart, which results in trash in the system meaning specific hoses and condenser all must be replaced. Toyota refuses to acknowledge it as a factory fault, though i've seen where more than one corolla has had this occur.vin is invalid.

"takata recall"my car shudders at low acceleration and at high speeds

The contact owns a 2016 toyota corolla. The contact stated that the transmission warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was serviced per an unknown nhtsa campaign number by oak lawn toyota (4320 95th st, oak lawn, il 60453, (708) 423-5200), but the remedy failed to repair the vehicle. The contact mentioned that the transmission warning indicator illuminated after the recall repair. The vehicle decelerated after the repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The manufacturer stated that the failure was now the contact's fault. The failure mileage was 57,000.

Am having to replace both front axles at 81k miles.dealer estimate is $1300.00.hard to believe that axles go bad this early in car's life.

Several times the seat belt chime wouldn't stop although seat belt connected. Brakes screeching when trying to come to a stop. Took more effort than should for brakes to stop thecar. The first time this happened, i had only had the car for two days. The second time it occurred was right after the 5000 mile maintenance service. It happened two times afterwards and one time today. I was driving any where from 25 mph to 55 mph. So far i have been lucky but i am beginningto be afraid to drive my car.the last time this happens was today.

Takata recall?i was involved in an auto accident where my 2016 toyota corolla le was t-boned on the front passenger side/front corner(headlight area)and then the other vehicle also hit me along the back half of the passenger side as well.i was making a left turn on a city blvd when i was hit.passenger side curtain air bags deployed.i was hit at a speed or 40-55mph.the front air bags did not deploy and the seat belt let me go forward( (i believe i hit the steering wheel),i have a bruised sternum and an aortic aneurysm in my descending aorta as a result of the accident.

I received a letter requesting recall.

Vehicle was stopped at a traffic light, our toyota was rear ended by a kia whos driver foot slipped off the brake.our seat belt did not lock and caused my daughter to hit her head on the steering wheel.she was diagnosed with a concussion and is still suffering 3 weeks after treatments with injections and muscle relaxers given by a neurologist

Every time i go to unbuckle my seat belt it doesn't come undone when you push the button. I have to push the seat belt further into the buckle before it will become unbuckled.

I was in car accident and rear ended my airbags failed deploy and seat beltseat belt pretensioners to stop force my body felt ragged dogged as being hit my neck felt it was going snapped i was scared for life.i was on city city street stopped at red light when rear ended by large suv. I got letter from toyota saying i need have airbag replace, and when went dealer on friday 9:00 am the rech john keller refuse to service for recall, and told me he looked up vin and my car didn't needed it toyota of hb reuse to repair it.

Accident due to breaks locking and the car continued to roll. Back seat passenger seat belt did not lock causing passenger to fly forward and back; injured breast bonedriver air bag from steering wheel did not inflate fully.

My seat belt has to be messed around with a lot in order to release my seat belt. I have to press at least 3 to 4 times super hard before my seat belt releases.

The contact owns a 2016 toyota corolla. The contact stated that her driver's side seat belt sensor was defective and activated while engaged. The vehicle was taken to toyota chula vista (650 main st, chula vista, ca 91911) to be repaired under nhtsa campaign number: 20v024000 (air bags). Following the repair of the air bags, the failure recurred immediately upon using the seat belt. The contact then took the vehicle to valley hi toyota (14612 valley center dr, victorville, ca 92395) where she was informed that she would have to pay a diagnostic fee to determine the failure. The manufacturer had not been notified of the failure. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 7,000.

I was recently in an accident on 1/19/2018. Where i was driving between 25-30 mph. Neither my airbags deploy nor did my seatbelts lock very well.

It happened while it is the toyota dealership and car was certified!they just updated the software disabling something and cover up like erasing the face of the problem instead of solving it.01/17/2020toyota motor sales, usa, inc.manufacturer safety recall issued nhtsa #20v024 recall #20ta03 safety recall 20ta03 (remedy notice) - multiple models and model years - incomplete or nondeployment of airbags and/or seat belt pretensioners may occur status: remedy availablehttps://vinrcl.safercar.gov/vin/vinlookuprecalls results by vin - vehicle identification number print sharevin: [xxx]year: 2016 make: toyota model: corollanumber of open recalls: 1nhtsa recall number: opens new window takes away from vin lookup section>20v024recall date: january 17, 2020manufacturer recall number: 20ta03summary:the subject vehicles are equipped with an electronic control unit (ecu) from a specific supplier that is designed to receive signals from crash sensors and deploy the airbags and seat belt pretensioners. My driver side seat belt won't click " not working"

The seat belt on driver side does not click and its hard to take out the seat belt as you have to press down on the red burton in order to release it.

I am reporting an issue on sporadic "squeaking" noise that comes from both front seat belts since purchase oct 2015. The event occurs when driver accelerates or decelerates or goes over speed bumps or uneven roads. The issue does not go away despite moving the seats back and forth to ensure proper engagement. (seat adjustment is manual). The issue is more pronounced in cold weathers.the "squeak" event stops when the seat belt is unbuckled. The issue occurs when the belt is braced against driver when happens during acceleration or deceleration and going over uneven road or bumps.these squeak are now louder than after purchase and more annoying even though the squeaks come on sporadically.

The "squeaking/creaking" resumes when the belt is braced tight against driver and vehicle accelerates or decelerates, or goes over uneven road or bumps. These db levels on these squeaks have increased where everyone seated in the car can now hear it. The incidents are still sporadic.

I've a recall on my 2 toyota corolla 2015 and 2016, that came out on jan 17 2020 andit has being more than 30 days and there's no remedy to the date .i do and my family not feel safe to drives those vehicles . What should i do on this case .? please advice . A sensor from the air bags is not sending signal to the air bags in case it need to deploy, also the seat belts according with the information does not working properly .

Involved in collision on october 14, 2019.vehicle liable for collision hit the front of left side of my vehicle. Air bag did not deploy, safety restraint did not operate correctly.suffered injuries to lefts side of body, head, neck, leg, front and back.body propelled forward towards wheel and dash arm, shoulder and one contacted vehicle and head hit steering wheel. Went to er.seeking treatment for injuries for 6 months now and ongoing.

Srs light is on in car indicator. And it shows there is something wrong with air bag.bu after diagnosed by at least four mechanics it still do not show where the problem is from? ( what part?) or what's the problem? or why is srs light is on?

Passengers fromt door has wiggled a jar while driving, high pitched humming noise from under passengers side of the hood even when car has been turned off for hours. Hums while driving and it's sparatic.noise appears to be near the abs control module. Had a rear main seal leak also.

My driver car seat started randomly smoking. It smell like something was about to catch on fire. The car seat got extremely hot. No, i do not have heated seats nor do i have electric seats .

Headrest angle. It is my understanding from my experience that all car headrests now induce neck pain thanks to nhtsa's terrible regulation mandating that headrests be angled or have a minimum distance to the head to reduce whiplash. This mandate, while well intentioned, is horrible for any kind of driving in the vehicle. If i attempt to sit straight up in any new car the headrest always hits my head before being able to completely rest my back against the seat. The headrests, no matter where they are positioned, hit my head first and cause it to tilt downward when attempting to sit straight causing neck pain while driving.every car i have driven (this 2016 toyota corolla included) whether it be a rental or test driving a new car, has induced neck pain by simply trying to sit properly in the seat. I do not have such issues with my older vehicles (2006 toyota corolla and 2004 honda element) the only way to alleviate this discomfort i have found is put the seat at an incline such that my head does not come close to touching the headrest and i know this is not safe.please consider changing or modifying this regulation. It is quite ridiculous and i have met many others who share the same problem.

Been waiting for dealers to fix the recalls my car has, they say they will call when they receive parts.still waiting.

Head restraint/headrest is so extremely painful that it has to be removed or reversed to safely drive the car.

Accident due to breaks locking and the car continued to roll. Back seat passenger seat belt did not lock causing passenger to fly forward and back; injured breast bonedriver air bag from steering wheel did not inflate fully.

Takata recall. I was recently in an accident on friday 6/15. I was rear ended by a ford explorer going 60 miles per hour while i was stopped in traffic on i495. This collision caused me to rear end the car in front of me. The airbags did not deploy which caused me to slam my head into the steering wheel. I went to the hospital where i was diagnosed with a concussion. Since the accident i have still had headaches and sensitivity to light. I also have had severe bruising due to the impact. Prior to the collision i had sticky brakes which sometimes i would break and the break would not halt properly,, but when pressed again the car would brake. During the accident the brakes did this sticky effect and caused the impact to be greater.

I was driving and was exiting a freeway. As i was applying the brake, the brake was not engaging, and was making a hissing sound every time i pressed the brake pedal trying to stop the car. After applying the brake several times, the brakes finally engaged and abruptly stopped the car, coming just inches from the car which was stopped in front of me. While this had occurred and for a couple of weeks afterward, the anti-lock display light would not turn on. The anti-lock brake light eventually started to work again couple of weeks after this incident.

This is a new vehicle there has been many times the brakes delay before stopping. This time the car accident. I had enough time to brake 4 the car to dtop but the brake screech and would not stop untill collision. In november the vehicle broke down on the highway, toyota said the vehicle spark needed changing.

Brakes began making grinding noise when applied in during stop and go traffic. Was taken to dealership where i was told brakes are fine. As soon as i left i began hearing noise again while applying brakes and called them back but was told nothing could be done since no issue.

Breaks dont stop the car and also make a grinding noise when trying to break while going over any kind of bumps.

On 1/1/2020 while the vehicle was in motion on the city street; and when attempting to depress the brake pedal, the vehicle brakes started to grind and the vehicle would not stop. This same brake failure occurrence with the vehicle, reoccurred two more times intermittently.luckily there was no other vehicles nearby that could have resulted in a crash

When going over small bumps, ditches, or any abrasions my brakes skid and keeps going and i have to swerve or go around to find solid road to stop my car. It happens all the time not occasionally. I've had my brakes inspected by pep boy, and my personal mechanics that i trust and they say the brakes and rotors are perfect. I'm not sure what's the cause. It's been happening since i got the vehicle, i figured i should just drive slow but it doesn't help and i recently almost rear ended another vehicle due to the issue.

I was driving my normal commute to work yesterday (june 6, 2019), heading west on broward blvd at about 45 mph. I was approaching a red light, so i pressed the brake pedal as usual...except nothing happened!! i'm not sure if it even slowed at all because i was panicking since there was nowhere to go. I pressed down harder, and still nothing! so, i knew i was going to impact the car in front of me, and i did. I was so confused. It was the scariest experience of my life! not only that. Now, my right leg is sore from braking so hard, and my airbags deployed. So, my insurance company may declare my car a total loss. I'm so frustrated and upset. I'm just happy that the person i hit was okay with no injuries. I'm also happy to be alive, but this is so frustrating because i've already spent so much on that car and can't imagine incurring another financial burden to purchase a new one.

Pulled into parking lot and prepared to park. Stepped on brakes, car didn't stop hit building. I put in reverse and then drive, swerving away from building, but car kept going all while foot was on brake. Pulled keys from the ignition to stop the car.

Driving my sister home from hospital as we neared intersection the traffic light changed to red of the six cars in front of me four went into the left turn lane as traffic slowed down upon applying brakes i didn't get any response, approximately two plus car lengths separated forward vehicle and my car i tried applying brakes again holding steady pressure still no responsethe inevitable happened my car running into the rear of the suv in front of me.

I was driving out of a parking lot at 10-15mph. A car was waiting to turn at a stop sign 200 feet ahead. The road had mild snow and ice and was on a 20 degree slope, so i stepped gently on the brake. There was no response from the car. I stepped off the brake and stepped down a little harder. There was mild response. I continued pushing on the brake, and was able to push all the way down to the floor. The car did not stop. 50 feet before collision, i attempted turning the wheel to get out of the way, but the car only shifted 3 feet before i collided with the front car. 50 minutes after the incident, i was driving the same car home at 25mph. The city street was flat and straight, and there was mild snow and ice. A car was turning right at an intersection 250 ft ahead. I was worried this time, and pressed on the brake earlier at moderate pressure (pedal half down). In the past, that type of pressure could decrease the car from 35 to 10mph in 100ft. This time, the car only decreased from 25 to 15mph in 245ft. I was lucky the driver ahead turned, because it would have been a second collision in one day.

Continuing problem when foot is on brake pedal and hit a bump in road, grinding noise and vibration sensation in pedal. Toyota dealer says brakes are ok. Today this happened but this time the grinding noise was pronounced and the car would not brake- fortunately i was not driving at a high rate of speed and barely stopped in time before almost rear ending car in front of me. I have found several complaints on line of the same problem.

Takata recall,i was driving home in stop in go traffic on freeway and the truck in front of me speed up. Once i accelerated to about 20-25 miles an hour the truck stopped, i saw it and tried to stop but brakes would not work. There was a grinding noise that you could feel and hear as well as wouldn't let you push all the way down on brakes. This resulted in me hitting the person in front of me. Hood is pushed up and front bumper completely off as well as light damage and more but no airbags were deployed. All 3 of my children were in the car with me and this is a hug safety issue.

Brakes make a grinding noise as soon as bought car, took for 1st oil change and told them, also drives like floating or weaving down highway also told about at dealership. Now the heater and air is not right all the time.

Several times, i have experienced "brake failure" along with a grinding noise. Braking system must be the problem. However, the dealership says everything is working properly. I have taken it to the dealership2 times since i purchased the new car. The first incident was in october 2016 - with only 1784 miles.on may 1, 2017; i applied my brakes upon approaching a "stop sign". Unfortunately, the pedal went to the floor( i could feel the grinding in the brake pedal)and therewas a delay in my car coming to a complete stop. I took the car to the dealership, again. According to the service department, there is nothing wrong with the braking system.i do not have any warning when the brakes fail to work. It doesn't seem to matter if i am traveling at a slow or higher rate of speed. Please investigate this problem. I am very concerned and the toyota company doesn't seem to be concerned about this issue.

On june 24th 2016 i purchased a 2016 toyota corolla s. I had 3 minor brake fialures with grinding sounds. I called the dealership on those 3 occasions.the 4th brake failure was a lot worse and i ended up applying the e brake and slide into county line dividing pasco & hernando county florida. Enough was enough i called the dealership and said " i need to bring my car in asap because now i have had four brake failures and this one could have killed me if anyone had been coming. This was the 21st of july, i had brought the car in for inspection of my brakes. All they did was take it for a test drive, brought it back and said everything was normal. On september tenth 2016 i got into the right hand turn lane, when i applied the brakes nothing had happened. I continued to apply more and more pressure and still no brakes. I was able to veer enough to the right so i didn't impact the driver side door however the lady behind that car was not as lucky and i impacted her front left pretty much head on. I have called over and over i have sent pictures of my car and the road where there was not even 1 skid mark. I have 9 bulging disc 4 herniated discs. I am literally broke from car rentals dr's appointments and medication that has been very expensive. Every time i call i am instructed i will receive a call from their claims/legal department within 30 business days from when they retrieved the data from the car that almost killed me and a poor woman who was taken away in an ambulance. I looked through the data and i am no engineer and i can even see where the brakes failed. To everyone who reads this if you see s newer toyota becareful.

The car was involved in the accident with all the airbags deployed, date of crash apr.16,2016 at 10.25 pm.hsmv report 385303651,i feel the airbags did not protect me properly, and i would like to be added to auction class law suite.

The contact owns a 2016 toyota corolla. The contact stated that while attempting to make a left turn at 5 mph, the steering wheel locked as an unknown warning light illuminated on the instrument panel. The contact immediately depressed her brake pedal, however, the vehicle proceeded to move forward independently down an incline. The contact panicked and ejected herself from the vehicle as her vehicle then hit a trailer that was attached to another vehicle. The air bags deployed upon impact. The contact sustained injuries to her left arm but did not receive any medical attention. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to longo toyota (3534 n, peck rd, el monte, ca 91731) where it had yet to be repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and an investigator was sent out to inspect the vehicle. The investigation determined the brakes were never applied prior to the collision. The contact disputed that report and stated that multiple attempts were made to stop the vehicle. The vehicle also had been placed under nhtsa recall number:20v024000 (air bag).the vehicle remained in the possession of the dealer. The failure mileage was 25,473.

Dolan toyota scion informed me that my brake caliper was leaking--i would have to replace the assembly cylinder-- it could not be repaired.i needed new pads and the rotors to be resurfaced.the car was unsafe to drive i had to have them repair it.total bill: $794.01.the issue is why did this happen?several mechanics and even the service manager at dolan agreed that this was a rare event on a car with 35651 miles.it points to a defective part or a problem in the manufacturing/assembly process.the warranty has run out on this vehicle, but i think toyota should accept some responsibility in this case.they sold me a car with defective brakes that could have caused an accident.this is a serious issue. I called toyota motor sales, usa, inc, i think they should be responsible for the whole $794.01 bill or at least a part of it!the disagreed with me--they want no responsibility for selling me a car with defective brakes that could have caused an accident.this should not have happened--they are responsible.could you investigate?i have included a copy of the repair invoice and a copy of an e mail from toyota motor sales.my case number is:[xxx] and their number is:800-331-4331.please let me know if you need any further information.[xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *ln

Upon entering my carport, while applying the brakes, the car suddenly lurched forward several feet, nearly colliding with a concrete wall.my concern is: when will this occur in street traffic and cause a fatality?

I was driving on a city street at 15 mph and when my foot pressed the brake (for 2 seconds), the engine revved and the vehicle accelerated for a couple of seconds before braking fully.

Brakes are not enough strongepower steering light turn on the steering wheel is so hard to manipulate

On 08/07/2018, i was in a car (2016 toyota corolla)accident where another car slammed me in the rear and i've hit a chevy pickup in the back.the pick-up was coming to a stop which i was slowing down as well and i'm assuming the car that was behind did not paid attention.therefore, he hit me between 45-50 mph in the back which i've hit the truck abruptly at 30-35mph.my airbags did not deploy which is very shocking and my shoulder along with my arm slammed into the steering wheel.also, i had a hard time with my brakes because it felt like it was stuck and wouldn't go down as i was pressing on it.i'm suffering from intense right leg pain as if i've torn the muscle but 10x's worst.ever since the accident, my leg has been going numb quite frequently which goes into my toes.i'm walking with a limp and my shoulder has sharp pain as well.i'm starting to think that my airbags were defective because it should have deploy as soon as the impact occurred but it didn't...

My srs airbag warning light came on out of nowhere. Shortly after that my steering wheel continually clicks when i turn it. And within the same day now my horn stopped working as well as all of the buttons on the steering wheel no longer work including the cruise control. The light never went away and the functions of the steering wheel no longer work when there is no cause or reason for this to happen.

Steering wheel recall. I was coming out from an alley to get into the main road, the steering wheel froze, locked up, or jammed to the right. Quickly stepped on the brake to avoid injury and damage to the car. Had to restart engine to gain control of car. Could be fatal if there was oncoming car or merging on interstate.

I'm having problems with electric power steering system several times during 2018and almost twice got into the acsedent because of the problem with steering. I do not understand this was a problem with the car. The warning light just starts show the problem on 09.27.2018. I start to read about this online and realize that this can course a major accident on the road. It's dangerous for me and public. The toyota corolla did the maintenance on my car on jan 19, 2018 and they never mention to me anything about this problem. Please help me to resolve this issue with don megill toyota of katy, tx. I'm taking this car back to toyota on 9.28.2018. I'm afrade to drive this car.

Noted over head light by the back seat making a electrical static noise while the car was running on a city streetand was about to make a right turn suddenly the engine died, steering wheelbecame stiffed not able to manuever, eps light came out battery was fully charge for some reason still draining the power down to 9.6 volts from 12volts. Please see attached photo per my mechanic same problem fromtoyota yaris 2005. This part is called the electric power actuator for electric power steering. Thank you

Brakes are not enough strongepower steering light turn on the steering wheel is so hard to manipulate

Light on longer than normal when start car. Sometimes stiff when turning wheel while vehicle is stationary.

Steering goes stiff with car running/stationary and steering warning light on longer than normal. Fearful problem will occur while moving

Whelp my 2016 toyotacorolla l has a issue with the sensorthis car is only a month old i tool it to the dealership and the stated the nitrogen in my tires are to cold, well its summer time in florida and nothing cold everyday i have had a issue with the sensor.

A number of times the past few months and most recent as of today when i first crank my car and start to drive the steering wheel is stiff and takes time before i can turn. Today a steering wheel light with ! point was on and wheel was stiff when first trying to leave. Its stationary when happening but fearful will happen when driving because it's happening more frequently.

Brakes make a grinding noise as soon as bought car, took for 1st oil change and told them, also drives like floating or weaving down highway also told about at dealership. Now the heater and air is not right all the time.

The power steering light came on and when i tried to drive it it was like driving a manual steering. When on the highway it was like driving a tractor. Then when i got to where i was going it made a clicking noise when i tried to start it again. Then everything went dead. This is my only car and i am a retired teacher who spent her retirement money on this vehicle because i was told that it would be reliable.

When it's a little cold out and i start up my car,my steering wheel will not turn, it's like it is locked. Until it warms up a bit i can't and will not move it until it becomes normal again. This has been an ongoing issue since the beginning of oct. 2019.i understand it has everything to do with the electronic steering component. I am very concerned it may lock up on me while i'm driving and cause an accident??

Front bumper/grill area paint not adhering to front area factory color blizzard pearl white. This area is the factory original paint. Nohistory of damage or repaint. Airbag recall?

I can drive is no problem at all

My husband and i were driving home from a concert at 10:30 pm on the 110 freeway in san pedro, ca when we heard a loud crash on the roof of the car.we hadn't just driven under an overpass.there was no debris behind us.no one was swerving out of the way to avoid anything.no one who drove passed us reacted at all.we could not figure out what had hit us and kept hearing glass moving around.at one point my husband opened the sunroof slightly and saw a gaping hole in the glass along with glass shards that started falling into the car.when we got home i looked up "exploding sun roofs" and found that spontaneous explosion was not uncommon and there is a class action suit forming and people reported their experiences to you. The car had been parked outside for about 2 1/2 hours.the temp was 49 degrees.this is southern california.no ice. No snow. Not that cold.

The windows are not airtight, i hear the wind as i drive my car down the interstate which i consider a distraction. On the passenger side where the dashboard meets the windshield, there is a strip of a styrofoam type of material showing. It appears it is coming out of the dashboard it is approximately 2-4" long along the dashboard.

Carplay app installed without my consent

Driving on highway at approximately 75mph when heard a loud explosion-like noise.it took a moment to realize that my sunroof had exploded and i was now sitting in a pool of glass shards.i quickly closed the glass covering and got off the highway to vacuum the interior.there were no obvious flying bits of gravel or rocks observed.the weather was about 85degrees fahrenheit.there were no cars in front of me, just one vehicle quite a distance behind me.

The dash inside the car is making a rattle noise and suddenly the car looses power.

The contact owns a 2016 toyota corolla. The contact stated that the paint peeled on the front bumper of the vehicle. The contact later received a letter from the manufacturer, requiring vehicles painted with factory applied blizzard pearl or super white paint to go to a local dealer, to have the vehicle repainted. The contact took the vehicle to the sansone toyota located at 90-100 us-1, avenel, nj 07001, 732-587-1100, where the technician stated that the failure was not a paint peel but was due to an accident. The contact stated that the vehicle was not in an accident. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and sided with the dealer. The contact reported to the attorney general and was referred to the nhtsa. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 15,000. *ln

Estaba entrando en la terminal del aeropuerto de fort lauderdale y el carro del otro conductor marca jeep del 2013 con la placa iitn27 me impacto por el frente la lado derecho dandome el fender derecho, el foco y arranco el bomper completo. Nota. Este chofer escedia el limite de velocidad.

Both the left and right front suspension control arms makes a squeak noise. This condition occurs when driving over speed bumps and uneven surfaces. I showed this to toyota service on december 2019 when first started but they couldn't find the problem. Then showed it to different toyota services in 2020, and they couldn't find it either. I thought it was the suspension springs, so i replaced it but still the squeaky noise wasn't resolved. Recently i researched the problem and so many people are having the same issue and i found the attached bulletin, but the toyota service workers never seen this and toyota never informed me of the bulletin. Please this should be a recall and not a bulletin. To this day, the squeaky noise is a lot louder than in 2019. Please help.

The car was involved in the accident with all the airbags deployed, date of crash apr.16,2016 at 10.25 pm.hsmv report 385303651,i feel the airbags did not protect me properly, and i would like to be added to auction class law suite.

Both the left and right front suspension control arms makes a squeak noise. This condition occurs when driving over speed bumps and uneven surfaces.

I noticed a sound coming from the front end of my 2016 toyota corolla le. I initially took it in to see where the sound was stemming from the mechanic at toyota stated that the sound was normal and no need to have concern about the noise it was normal within these models of corollas. I let the dealership with relief but as i drove back the noise was louder ,so i took the vehicle back in to the same shop luther brookdale toyota where the mechanic stated the sound was normal but this time the mechanic suggested that they replace the struts and along with the strut mounts. He stated this would alleviate the problem and the sound would go away because he agreed that the front end suspension was indeed faulty (hence). That's why he replaced the struts along with the mounts. Upon replacing the part of the suspensionthe sound persisted.now brookdale where i went initially stated they where no longer able to help me with the issues keep in my the car is under warranty, so i wentto walser toyotawhere they kept my vehicle for over a week trying to repair and get rid of the sound my vehiclewas makingafter that week i was told they called a toyotaspecialist over the phone plus after a week i was told the sound was normalno further work needed to be done i inquiredif the rep from toyota heard the sound over the phone while drivingmy vehiclethe tech at walser toyota stated yes he heard the sound over the phone i was shocked how can you deem a sound normal via telephone , not happy with this i then took my vehicle to firestone repair shop where they recommended i have my front replaced i have a print out of the recommendations at this point i feel my safety of me and my family is at stake.

I was involved in an accident that was not my fault i was in a road where the speed liimit was 25-35 mph. Mostly a straight road a few slight curves. A car came over into my lane and caused me to swerve out of the way to avoid hitting that person head on. I went into a ditch full of huge rocks. The air bags never deployed which in my opinion tfhey should had, but from what i hear it may have caused even more damage. Anyways i could not identify the car who swerved into my lane. My car was damaged it hit straight forward into the huge rocks. I was pretty sore but did not go to the er. My car had a pretty good amount of damage but luckily i was able to drive it out of the ditch. It busted up the front of my car near the passenger sided, and caused quite the damage to my front passenger tire. Normally my 5 year old daughter would had been riiding on that side. Luckily she wasn't that day.

On wednesday, august 30th 2017 at approximately 3:00pm i was traveling on interstate 459 north in the far-right lane and hit a large pothole about 150 yards before i-65 overpass. After swerving to maintain control i pulled over to the right shoulder and called toyota care (roadservice). The event i experience caused a bent wheel rim and flat tire.i am requesting a reimbursement of my cost to replace my wheel rim and tire. The potholes were filled by the time i was able to take pictures on sunday september 3re 2017.

We bought a new 2016 toyota corolla and have a problem with rodents getting in it. We read up on it and it is caused by the materials used. The person i spoke at toyota said they use peanut based lubricant. This apparently is know by toyota yet they continue to use it. What can be done? i am tired of being told nothing can be done.

Head restraint/headrest is so extremely painful that it has to be removed or reversed to safely drive the car.

This is a new vehicle there has been many times the brakes delay before stopping. This time the car accident. I had enough time to brake 4 the car to dtop but the brake screech and would not stop untill collision. In november the vehicle broke down on the highway, toyota said the vehicle spark needed changing.

The air conditioner will not blow at all even though the ac light is on.it has an atc dial and has been sporadically doing this for over a year now. It will just shut off and not work.it has come back on eventually in the past however now it has been a week and still nothing this car is only 3 years old so i should be having problems with this

The car start up to behave different before 5.000 miles.when accelerating the car was getting first very high rpm, before starting to pick up speed, experiencing some important delays in response.i was trying to address this with toyota of york and the specialists explained to me about principles of cvt transmission and i was pushed back.at 10.000 and 15.000 miles the car became quite lazy and i just hadto go back to the services as the rpm's were not normal. Finally the computer was reset and i start up to recognize the car. In about 3 weeks the car start up to have again some important delays in response. Back to the service - the issue was not recognized the mechanics trying to convince me again about the benefits of cvt transmission...i was never informed or asked if i will be interested to buy a car with cvt transmission but now i start up to read and get familiar with it trying to accommodate and feel better about what i got.before 25.000 i was close to be involved in 2 incidents when my car had major delay in response-trying to avoid and get out of a situation, my car first got to very high rpm and only after that, decided to accelerate, which i find very unsafe and i got panicked.in both situations i realize that this car is not able to get me out of an emergency situation. Around 25.000miles i discussed again with the mechanics, this time explaining safety concerns.the mechanics were sympathetic with what i experience but again i was told that i can not expect more from a cvt transmission if i want to get good gas and long life from a car.my wife was driving this car only 4 times. She felt very uncomfortable with this car's capacity to engage in different situations on the high way.in other words, this car will first save the cvt transmission, will protect the engine and will save good gas but on priority list my family life will come after.

Fumes out of vent 15,000 miles 79 mph on interstate, first time this has happen, make my eyes tear up(mild plus)went on for at least 10 miles, was looking for exit to get off.i stopped about 20 miles further down the road, checked exhaust pipe, no blockage

After driving the car for few minutes, a burning smell of rubber/plastic is coming. The smell only starts once started o drive the car, or when the car is in motion regardless of city or highway driving. The smell is not detected if the car is started and just getting warmed up in a stationary position. The smell seems to be stronger from passenger side of the car

The navigation/ back up screen is not visible with polarized sunglasses except by tilting ones head at a 45 degree angle. Manufacturers response is " have submitted the information to toyota and have heard back that this condition is a known concern with polarized sunglasses as it has been seen by others as well. The conclusion is that the polarization in the glasses causes this effect and it is not a defect in the products navigation screen"

Sunroof glass exploded with a loud noise like a gunshotwhile driving down interstate at 75mph.it is my belief that there is a flaw in the glass and that this did not result from trafficdebris (no overpass near)

I was driving on a city street at 15 mph and when my foot pressed the brake (for 2 seconds), the engine revved and the vehicle accelerated for a couple of seconds before braking fully.

The contact rented a 2016 toyota corolla. While reversing in a parking lot, the contact's vehicle independently accelerated and crashed into another vehicle. When the vehicle was placed in the drive gear, it became inoperable and the vehicle accelerated again. The contact struck several other vehicles. A police report was filed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. There were no injuries. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage and vin were unknown.

My wife was pulling around our cul-du-sac to go to the store, when her 2016 toyota corolla sport accelerated out-of-control.she was able to get it back to our driveway and into the garage by putting heavy pressure on the brake.the engine was continuing to rev at a very high speed.have call into toyota dealer, but do want to drive it for safety reasons.i jus started it in park, and it immediately revved to over 4000 rpm.

The contact owns a 2016 toyota corolla. While driving at a low speed, the vehicle independently accelerated without warning. The contact crashed into another vehicle. The air bags did not deploy. A police report was not filed. The vehicle was driven away by the contact. There were one injury that required medical attention. The dealer and the manufacturer were not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 11,800.

The contact owns a 2016 toyota corolla. The contact stated that while reversing out of a parking lot, the vehicle accelerated. The contact depressed the brake pedal but was not able to stop. The contact placed the vehicle in neutral which failed to engage causing the contact to crash into a post. No airbag deployed. No medical attention was contacted. No police report was made and no injuries were sustained. The vehicle was taken to the dealer infiniti of las vegas (5555 w sahara ave, las vegas, nv 89146 (702) 829-5975) where it was unable to duplicate a failure. The vehicle was test drove and still unable to duplicate the issue. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure recurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and an investigation was started. The failure mileage was approximation 600.

The contact owned a 2016 toyota corolla. On several occasions, while driving various speeds with the acclerator pedal dedepressed, the engine revved but the vehicle failed to accelerate in a timely manner. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to toyota of york (1885 whiteford rd, york, pa 17402, (717) 755-2961) where no diagnostic failure codes were found and the failure could not be duplicated.

The dash inside the car is making a rattle noise and suddenly the car looses power.

I was pulling in to parking space at a very low speed. My car started to accelerate and lunged into pared car in front of me. Causing damage to other car and mine. I had my foot on the brake but it didint stop the car. A couple if days before the same thing happened to my husband when he was pulling into parking place and car started to accelerate and lunged forward. We got back the results from toyota and the said their was nothing wrong with the car. They won't take responsibility for the car. We are left with a car that we are to afraid to drive. We know that it will happen again but just don't know when.

2016 toyota corolla. Consumer writes in regards to unintended acceleration. *ldthe consumer stated upon depressing the brake to pull into a parking space, the vehcle lunged forward into a guard rail.

New 2016 toyota corolla - around the 3,000 mile point the speedometer failed to show any speed on 25-50 mph neighborhood and adjoining route, although the car drove at some non-indicated speed for 5 miles. Speedometer started working but when left at dealer to diagnose problem, happened again. Dealer replaced the "cluster" component containing speedometer.

About once a month for the past 3 months, my speedometer has been stuck at 0 for at least 15 or 20 minutes of my drive. After about 15 minutes, it slowly starts to increase: if i'm going what i'd assume is 60 mph, it shows at 40 and climbing, and about 20 minutes into my commute, my speedometer appears to be working fine. This only appears to happen when the car has just been started. I took it to an authorized toyota dealer, where i purchased the car on lease, and they were unable to replicate the problem. That makes sense, as this only happens about once per month. They indicated that they checked the car's computer and no error codes were found, and that the system is operating as designed.

I had eased in my parking space and all of a sudden my car started to excelerate and lunged forward and hit the parked car in front of me. There was nothing i could do but watch helplessly. It's was like the car had a mind of its own. I couldn't understand what happened. I did put my foot on brake it didint help.it was 10: 15 am. I was praking to pick up my dog from groomer. It was on 10/24/17. It was a clear mild morning.i notified our insurance to report damage to my bumper and the other cars bumper. Then called toyota dealer and took our car in to toyoga. They gave me a number to call to report this and make a claim. Now we are waiting for someone to go and inspect our car. My husband had the same thing happen to him just a few days eariler where car excelerated, and he had to put on emergency brake.we both know it was not anything we did but it was the cars fault.very scared to ever get in that car again.

Front bumper/grill area paint not adhering to front area factory color blizzard pearl white. This area is the factory original paint. Nohistory of damage or repaint. Airbag recall?

Rear view back up camera gets blurry with age. Hard to see especially at night.

The windshield suddenly darkened from the top to about halfway down ( right in your line of vision).this happened at night , including during a rainstorm.it feels like you are driving in a dark cave or a place where your visibility is hindered.it appears that the tinting of the windshield is too dark. This only happened when the vehicle was in motion.

Front and rear windshields both distorted/defective. Like looking through funhouse mirror glass. The front makes things closer and larger and very wavy from my visual perspective starting at about halfway down the windshield and continuing to the right (to the passenger side). It is asafety issue especially when it makes it appear that large trucks or guardrails are coming at you closer than they are. One should not have to try to compensate while driving for an "optical illusion" as i was told by the service manager who saw the defect in my glass and said that "hopefully i would adjust". When driving, one needs to focus on driving, not having to tell themselves that they should not swerve because something is really not that close. It is a major safety issue that i have not seen in any of my 26 years of driving (or in either of the other 2 corollas that i have owned). The rear windshield is completely blurry and distorted especially between the lines of the defroster. It gives a fuzzy, nauseating effect when going from looking in the rear view mirror to looking forward again. (it is almost like looking at heat shimmering off a very hot surface of a road but permanently built into my rear window.) the front windshield issue is far worse when driving on the highway and things are moving quickly. Have brought it to 2 toyota dealerships and contacted tmc and still trying to get issue resolved. 2nd dealership said that because there are defects in some of their other new window glass they will not replace mine although they do see it and acknowledge it. They said to replace would be putting in the same glass. A windshield repair service told me that this is not true and that i should not be driving around with glass like this!

During the daylight hours, the front windshield captures the glare off the dash.every detail of the dash (vents, grooves, etc) is clearly reflected onto the glass because of the glass angle and the slightly reflective nature of the material used in the dash itself.the reflection makes it difficult to see anything ahead.for example, i didn't even see a deer standing at the side of the road until after i had passed it.i bought some black felt from the fabric store and placed it across the entire dash.this works, however, i need to keep the vents uncovered, so that aspect of the dash refection is still obstructing my view.not sure if this is recall material, but it is definitely a safety issue and all owners should receive a custom dash mat designed specifically for this dashboard.

The contact owns a 2016 toyota corolla. While the vehicle was stationary, the windshield chipped and cracked 20 inches throughout the entire windshield from the driver to the passenger sides of the vehicle. The edges of the windshield were not laminated with edge protection. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was 1,397.
