Takatarecall - have not received recall notice
Takata inflators - the vehicle hit a curb and blew the passenger side tire. The seat belt light and air bag light has been flashing ever since about 65,000 miles. The air bag did not deploy and the seat belt still locks. If an accident occurs from the rear, side or front, the airbag would not deploy and the seat belt may not lock. The horn line disconnected from the horn unexpectedly. This happened on 6/15/18 at 88,585 miles. The air conditioner has a leak from the main line that connects to the square box at the back of the car wall. When the car is sitting still at a light or stop sign, hot air starts blowing.
Airbag indicator is always on red. The airbags may not deploy because of issue and may csuse injury or death for my family.
This is not a real complaint. This is a test.
Driving my new first lease a small corolla and turning right into work...a third row big old suv doing at least 35 mph or faster rear ended me and pushed my little car into a big decorative boulder and almost pinned me so i couldn't wiggle my way out of the window.not one airbag went off and it was not a minor or slow impact. Weeks later i unfortunately gently tapped a parked van making a turn for a stop signal and every single airbag (ones i didn't even know were in the car) went off and the insurance company deemed it a total loss. I was lucky to not have been injured in the first accident, however, i feel there was a malfunction with the deployment of the airbags and i could have been. Toyota also came after me for $1,700+ dollars as the lease was only 7 months in and i didn't even pay the taxes i guess. Then my insurance went up so i was forced to change jobs and walk to work to make ends meat and pay rent.i wish my story was read by someone making lots of money who thinks what happened wasn't right and toyota should help a young man just starting out with a new wife but i'm sure they are too busy golfing or at some important meeting at a resort! hope they are ashamed of cases like mine.[xxx]if anyone has the [xxx] to apologize or do something.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

During my initial conversations with toyota corporate office they too said it does not seem correct.they are going to inspect the care with a week.i am not sure what to make of their inspection and i want to make sure they are fair.luckily no one was hurt in the accident.but i do think the issue needs to be looked at.the car is currently at a body-shop but the insurance company will be taking possession for salvage.

In march 1 2019 at 840 pm i was driving my toyota corolla 2014 heading south on arch street in pittsford vermont. I drove down the road went over a little hill and as i came over the tiny hill in my vision i saw a driving car coming towards me in there appropriate lane, with there headlights on, then i saw a parked car blocking 70 percent of my lane. I had no choice but to hit the parked car. When i hit the car my air bags did not deploy. I don't remember anything after my face hit the steering wheel. My air bags did not deploy! i have broken bones in my face and can't see clearly out of my right eye. I've gone to a eye md who is a retina specialist and she says i'm not going to be able to see out of my right eye. I do have a lawyer but i believe if i would have known about this defect than i would have had this fixed and would have had the proper deploy of the air bag which then i would not be losing my site. I was going 35 mph.*dt

Thank god, my 1 year old son was not in the backseat or else he would have been fatally injured with those airbags.i need to know what can be done.toyota has had recalls in the past and this could have ended my life.

Side airbags did not deploy despite ford f150 striking the driver side at approx. 10mph as toyota traveled at about 30 mph, with point of impact the driver side front pillar assembly and then fishtailed to impact the entire left side of the toyota corolla. Toyota corolla was in motion on a 4-lane city street and f150 was in the center left/right turn median traveling in the same direction but failed to yield and merged and/or was struck by a third vehicle and pushed into my toyota corolla
The maintenance light stays on and won't reset after the 15000 mile oil change. After 16000 miles the horn stopped working. At 16900 miles on 08/07/2018 the driver airbag light came on and stayed on, and the steering wheel cover where the airbag is is loose. The brakes and alignment have been checked and are good, but sometimes the wheels lock and the car doesn't brake well, as if the antilock system stopped working.
On may 6, 2014, my wife [xxx] and i were driving home to wlliston, vermont from arlington, vermont.we were driving north at approximately 45 mph in our 2014 toyota corolla le. At the blinking light intersection of dorset street and cheese factory road, we made a right hand turn and drove east. It was a very dark night and i mis-judged the distance to the end of cheese factory road, where you could either turn left or right. At the intersection of cheese factory road and hinesburg road, there are no blinking lights or reflectors, and, in the darkness, i missed the stop sign, went straight through the intersection and crashed into a ditch on the other side of the road.upon impact, my air bags deployed, and i felt only a sharp pain in my lower back. Immediatelygetting out of the car, i moved to the passenger side to find my wife out of the car on her hands and knees, crying out that she was unable to breathe.in the hospital[xxx] was diagnosed with a cracked sternum, an l 1 compression fracture in her back, 3 broken ribs and a broken left wrist. She spent 9 days in icu.it has only been in the last few weeks that my wife and i have had an in-depth discussion of the accident. [xxx] says that her seat belt did not hold her back, and that her chest hit the dash before her air bag deployed; yet, at impact she was able to see that my air bag had deployed before hers. This would probably account for the severity of her injuries and for the relatively minor injuries for mine.we are now aware that the 2013 toyota corolla had airbag issues and wonder if our 2014 toyota corolla might have similar problems. We have also been told by medical personnel that tremendous force would be required to crack a sternum, the kind of force that would come from hitting the dash board. For these reasons we are filing a claim.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

I was making a right turn pulling into a parking space in a shopping mall.i was approximately 1/2 to 3/4 of the way in when the vehicle took off and went into a tree and then a wall. When i turn on the fog lights to the car i started smelling a electrical smell. Stopped my car and saw the front left of my car on fire and saw the fog light smoking. My fig light switch is also in the wiper control that was being recalled on other corollas and dont know if that has an effect with the wiper control shorting out. I put out fire and turned off fog lamps and no problem. But when i turn fog lamp on i have the problem where it starts to smoke there.
I was parked in the underground parking at the north west corner of amherst ave and santa monica blvd in los angeles.i was exiting driving up the very narrow exit ramp. 1.the one way exit to the lot curves and is very narrow. As i navigated the narrow exit, i felt that i was almost touching the wall on the right side.2.i applied the brakes and put the car in reverse in order to get away from the wall. However, the brakes did not respond and the car rolled backwards around the bend, hitting the wall behind me. The car came to a complete stop. 3.applying the brakes had no impact on the car neither decelerating nor accelerating. This shows that the brakes definitely did not work.4.with my foot on the brakes, i put the car in drive. At no time did i press the accelerator pedal.i would have heard the engine.the instant i shifted to drive, the car lunged forward at a very high rate of speed.consequentially, my car zoomed up the driveway into the ground level parking facing west. Within a second or so, my car collided with another car, parked facing west in front of pizza hut. Due to the force of the impact at such a high rate of speed, the parked hyundai superseded the concrete parking barrier crashing into pizza hut, shattering the store front window. 5.my car was thankfully stopped due to impact with the hyundai on the right side of my vehicle and a low wall on the left side.
I have difficulty when locking/unlocking my vehicle with my remote key fob and main look system from all doors of the vehicle. When the lock/unlock button is pushed on the vehicle's two front doors the driver's side door does not lock with the other doors on the vehicle. The driver side door is the only door that malfunctions all other doors operate efficiently. This locking malfunction occurs when the vehicle is parked. The driver's door can be locked manually by pushing the lock inwards or using the car key to manually lock/unlock the door. Please investigate this issue as the vehicle's locking system is a primary concern for the safety of the vehicle, the vehicle's owner, and the owner's property inside the vehicle. My vehicle is approximately 4 years old. I have also spoken with other toyota corolla owners (including year models of 2014 and 2015) who complain of the same issues.
The display screen for the radio, navigation, maintenance reminders, hands free phone use, etc. Suddenly stopped working when started my car. The screen only shows an icon with a status bar that makes it appear that the computer that operates this system is trying to restart. The screen itself works, but the computer won't boot-up. This is distracting while driving, and prevents the use of all the safety features that rely on it's function. I have done extensive reading on the internet and have found that this is a common problem in 2014-2016 toyota vehicles that have the premium entune system with navigation. They admittedly state that the fugitsu component is faulty and they have since started using a panasonic unit to avoid future problems. Toyota prices the replacement part at $3450. This is unacceptable, when they know that the problem is not the fault of the car owner, but rather a faulty part that was used during the manufacture of the vehicle. According to the post of one toyota technician, toyota has replaced 1 million of these units, but unless the vehicle is still under warranty they refuse to cover the repair cost because toyota does not think this malfunction is a safety issue a recall or warranty extension has not been issued. I think it is a safety issue when the hands-free function does not work and the screen is visually distracting as it constantly powers on and off.it also means an inoperable navigation system could be a safety issue as well as not having the hands-free calling and texting. I have tried to reset the radio, do a hard reset by holding the power button and replacing the battery. Nothing works. I called toyota and got routed around and hung up on. Mechanic quoted me more than $3500 for the repair. This is unacceptable when it is a known entune defect affecting many models across many years!
I turned my corolla with less than 30,000 miles on it, and the radio does not turn on or work. It shows a picture of a machine of some sort, and looks like it is rebooting, but once the "loading bar" gets to the end, the screen turns black and starts the reboot process over again. This happens continuously without ever completeing a reboot. The navigation, radio, blue tooth, cd player, or anything that is done through the radio screen is not functional.

Power steering stops working while driving, in motion, on city streets.
The complaint is with the radio. The car was in motion on the streetwhen it all of a sudden restarted itself. I thought nothing of it only because it has happened before except everything went back to normal and worked properly. But now after that has happened it doesn't stop doing that. It didnt even fully restart itself. It just keeps restarting to where i can't use the radio, navigation or anything not even the aux cord or usb port to play any music of some sort. I have tried parking and let it do its thing and nothing it still continues to restart.
After just five years of use (and only 28,000 miles), both front door locks have quit working. We have to manually lock and unlock the front doors with the key or from the inside. They occasionally work just often enough for us to think they're working again, then we'll come back to the car and find the front doors didn't lock.not only is this a big annoyance, but it increases the risk of car theft and makes it hard for us to get the doors unlocked with kids or other things in tow. This is way too early for this equipment to be failing.
Driver seatbelt not wanting to unlock when pressing red button. Also touch screen radio not recognizing touch please fix these issues i see multiple others having same issues!
The radio and gps system does not work any more, the system tries to load and all of sudden stops and starts again. Apparently lots of people have the same issue.
The front doors no longer lock by pressing the button on the door. The driver side door does not lock at all, even if the lock is pressed by hand. It started doing it every few days, but now the doors have stopped altogether. We were able to find out that the actuators are faulty. The car is a 2014 and the problem is something we had no control over. There are reports of this happening to other people with 2014 corollas as well. This is a major safety issue.
I have a 2014 corolla and out of the blue with in the last few days my entire screen for my audio and navigation went blank on my car. It goes between running a process and then back to a black screen. It's a safety issue because it's very distracting for one, and for two i got the upgraded navigation so i had hands free. I'm very dissatisfied and when looking it up have seen several complaints about this. I have been an avid toyota vehicle owner and for the most part been happy with the vehicles. I think this should be something that is looking into any potentially recalled for them to update this systems this isn't something that i did or anyone else i've seen posting comments on it. To keep loyal customers you have to have good solid products, seems that around 70,000 miles several people have had the same issue. Just around the time your warranty is up. Please look into this for the integrity of your toyota name and safety for those who own this make and model.
The contact owns a 2014 toyota corolla. While driving at unknown speeds, the steering wheel seized and the instrument panel illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the failure was unable to be duplicated. The manufacturer was unaware of the failure. The vin and failure mileage were unavailable.
The screen that contains all hands free options continuously acts as if it is rebooting and never finishes. It happened at 70,000 miles and did this suddenly. It has never worked since and we shouldn't have to spend $1,000 for a new one when it wasn't our fault. This is a major distraction when driving at night and have a hard time seeing if a deer comes out or other things i need to watch for. I have adhd and so this causes more problems for me than maybe others. It flashes really bright and goes dim but continues to do this the whole time. This is a danger for me because of the amount of light that exudes off of the screen and never stops. It also is a safety concern due to myself not being able to use any of the hands free options. This must be called in for a recall because it is dangerous to have this happen.
The stereo system with the touch screen keeps looping in a reboot. The bright screen flashes on and off and on and off continuously while driving causing a distraction as you are unable to switch off the stereo system.
While using our navigation system our radio rebooted and will not load. We were using the system for directions because it's hands free. I have tried 7-8 times to reset the system and i even tried disconnecting the battery to perform a hard reset without any luck. The vehicle has approximately 70,000 miles. I am the original owner and haven't had another issues. I looked online and seen hundreds of people complaining about their navigation/radio system doing the same thing. It's obviously something wrong with the system and toyota doesn't seem to be willing to repair the system for less than $1,400.00 from what other corolla owners have stated.

2014 corolla with the premium wheels (black and silver). The tires loose tire pressure faster than any other car requiring me to add air every month. They loose 3-6 psi each month and the weather +/- 10 degreeschange accounts for 1 psi loss rule doesn't fit because its always 90fin florida. Thisis an issue for everyone because we typically don't check tire pressure more frequent than 4 x a year for each season. Not sure if this happens to those with the regular rims but i have the sport toyota rims that came with the s plus trim.
Tl- the contact owns a 2014 toyota corolla. The contact stated that while traveling various speeds, the vehicle suddenly lost acceleration power then stalled. Good afternoon,on behalf of my brother [xxx]i am submitting a faulty eco boost light fixture. The wiring is and has been off before the warranty was expired. Honestly as the concern about global emissions being revised and edited daily, smog is a concern that i am attenuated for as the growth of trees out locally is still a photosynthetic process. There are quite a few other service recalls that may be in need of addressing for this model.[xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

Both the display and functionality of my 2014 corolla's bluetooth radio navigation unit suddenly stopped working and it appears to be in a never-ending reboot cycle. A picture of the unit appears on the screen with a loading bar underneath it as if it's trying to update its software. However, regardless of how far the loading bar gets, the screen will eventually turn black and start the reboot process all over again. This happens continuously without it ever completing the process, rendering my entire bluetooth radio navigation unit completely useless. Not even the usb charger or aux input will work.after doing some research it turns out to be a very common issue for 2014 corollas and it largely began happening right after the vehicles' 36 month warranty period ended. I believe toyota has already released a technical service bulletin in regards to the matter (tsb 0172.16).it's also a huge safety issue. I bought this car when i moved to california so that i would have the ability to navigate hands free and safely talk on the phone in emergency situations'per the wireless communications device law in california. Now because of this hardware issue, my safety is being jeopardized. Also, because the screen is constantly rebooting, it keeps flashing on and off while i am driving'making it a significant distraction when driving at night.
I have three separate door lock actuaters that have failed or are failing all within a 2 month period with only 51000 miles on the odometer. The front right passenger door will not lock or unlock unless i manually flip the switch, and the front left driver door and left rear passenger door intermittently will not lock or unlock when i use the key fob or when i shift the car into gear. This makes it difficult to know if the car is secured when i park it or when starting to drive, and i am concerned if the rear child safety locks do not function correctly now. I have had the toyota dealership in rochester mn confirmed the need for 3 door lock actuators and are asking for over $1400 for fixing them. I am in touch with toyota north america hoping to be approved for a "goodwill" fix. Doing further research online shows two separate law firms investigating this issue as there has been a significant uptick in door lock actuator failures in various toyota vehicles. I believe they are defective.

Audio/navigational unit is not functional, rendering all features (other than actual mobility) non-functional - i travel/live in a hands free city/state, and specifically purchase this vehicle for audio/navigational unit and the blue tooth technology. Also, flashes light uncontrollably while it constantly reboots (distraction - especially at night and during inclement weather).cannot access diagnostic information on vehicle (tires, engine, etc.) as promoted/promised from entune software.toyota has a known issue but will not replace the unit (t-sb 0172.16) and states it was due to warranty expiration, but never notified customer (i.e. Me) about issue even when i reached out to toyota to resolve. Even when i notified a local service/dealership, they ignored my safety concerns. Originally toyota said they would help (september), now (december) they are stating they will not.
Upon starting my vehicle i noticed there was no power to my stereo, clock, dome lights (front and back), keyless entry, power locks, and the tpms light is suddenly lit. I have not been able to find any blown fuses.
Power door lock actuators have failed on the driver and front passenger doors. Upon searching online, i found that there is a widespread, ongoing problem with toyota/lexus power door lock actuators failing early in the vehicles lifetime.
My car was parked in my driveway when an electrical fire ignited. I was unaware and a neighbor knocked to let me know the car was smoking. The fire department responded swiftly and determined the fire was electrical and originated in the dash and had burned the entire dash, the fire was limited to this area and did not extend to the engine of the vehicle.
Vehicle stalls. After putting vehicle in reverse and backing out of parking spot, vehicle stalled. After restarting and pulling back into parking spot vehicle stalled. I shut car off and restarted in park and after 5 seconds vehicle stalled again. Car had to be towed and rental car was necessary to get home. Toyota rep said that it was the computer. Either had to be updated or rebooted (dtc p2645 and or p265b were documented as the cause).
Vehicle doors would not unlock after pumping gas at station.vehicle was not started at the time and keys were in car (key-less system which is supposed to automatically unlock doors when keys are in vehicle). After attempting to open the driver side door without success, the passenger door did the same. After a few minutes of waiting the passenger door finally unlocked. The vehicle started however, there was a smell of gasoline coming from the vents. The air conditioner also stopped working. When the button for venting outside/inside was switch to outside air, the gasoline smell dissipated. When i pressed inside air the strong smell of gasoline occurred again. After approximately 20 minutes, the air conditioner began to work and shortly there after the smell of gasoline resolved. After a few hours the headache from gasoline inhalation went away.
The low beam part of the headlight assembly in the corolla sports 2014 is irreplaceable. I have seen multiple corolla 2014s on the road with atleast 1 of the lowbeam headlights not working and it could be a problem either with the electrical system or the wiring must be getting pinched as it has no guard from getting pinched if it's harnessed via the front of the car near the bumper. I am personally trying to fight this problem but the dealership will not help me.
Driver and passenger side locks get stuck when using the beeper or the door buttons, trying to lock or unlock them. I thought it was the beeper but it doesn't even lock/unlock using the doors buttons. I already know toyota corolla owners who have the lock stuck problem, so this is not only my car, but there's more cars with the same problem.
2014 corolla. Locks will get stuck between open and close when using remote control. This is a flaw in the lock mechanism. Happens to me once a month and the only way to open it is with a key.

The contact owns a 2014 toyota corolla. The contact received notification of an unknown manufacturer recall regarding the power train; however, the remedy was not available to provide the software update according to the dealer (round rock toyota, 2307 i-35, round rock, tx 78664, (512) 904-6700). The contact waited beyond a reasonable timeframe and was uncertain of when the manufacturer would provide the manufacturer recall repair. The manufacturer was contacted. The contact had not experienced a failure.
The contact owns a 2014 toyota corolla. While driving approximately 15 mph and attempting to accelerate, the engine warning light illuminated and the vehicle began to decelerate. The contact had to gently depress the accelerator pedal in order to increase the speed; however, when the accelerator pedal was depressed with force, the vehicle's speed decreased. The failure recurred on several occasions. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and was diagnosed that the ecm software needed to be updated. The software was updated. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 27,500.

The issue started with the battery terminals growing a lot of corrosion.had to be cleaned off and sprayed with cleaner and lubricant every couple of months. Then as i turn the key in the ignition, the car will sputter before starting.when the car is on, the steering wheel is stiff and immovable for the first minute or so. I can't turn the wheel.it loosens up as you drive. It will randomly get a bit stiff when driving on the highway. Typical speeds of 45mph or faster.
Pulled left into parking area, car accelerated very fast, went over 4-6" berm.i hit the brake, car stopped. Backed down off berm, didn't do damage.took car to toyota, report done and an analysis. Determined "unintended acceleration...pedal misapplication" . Not convinced that's what happened especially after reading other similar complaints.feel there is a defect in car, further investigation is needed.
My vehicle has been taken to the toyota dealership at least 12 times since purchased. It has already had a rear seal leak, back brakes and front brake work and rear brakes replaced. The timing chain cable was leaking oil and they replaced it. It has not ran the same since. It continues to hesitate to almost stalling out during takeoff at red lights and intersections. It's acceleration is terrible even for a 4 cylinder. We have been cooperative for the 3 years with toyota, but now that the warranty is void due to the 3 years, and not the mileage, we no longer receive such a helpful conversation with any of the managers there. The car is still under25,000 miles, and has been a total lemon to us. We've exhausted all hopes of them fixing the real problem since they continue to claim that they couldn't find any such problem in the acceleration issues and stalling in the intersections. We will never again purchase a toyota vehicle ever again. We have purchased many toyota's in the past, which prompted us to buy another. But after this car, and poor mechanics and service management, we will refrain from another toyota, ever. If you can resolve our issue by either an equivalent exchange of another vehicle, or fix the real reason it's not running properly, and frankly never has, i would appreciate any help that can be given on my behalf. Thank you, [xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).
Car will rev up to 4000 rpm and get stuck while in motion. This generally happens with a cold engine and is getting progressively worse.
Ecu issue associate evp leak. Replaced fuel cap, charcoal filter tubing but problem persists.dealership recommend charcoal filter replacement which is over $2000. Emmission system should be covered under longer warranty for a vehicle that is merely 3 years old.
I have attempted for the last 14 months to get a noise fixed when my car starts up. I have made 10 repair efforts with toyota and toyota corporate. I have filed lemon law on my car and toyota has sent me letters twice stating they have reviewed my repair orders, inspected the car, and it is working as designed. While the letters are being sent to me i have open appointments to get the car repaired for this issue. I called the toyota field rep and he stated that my case is closed because they do not know what is wrong with my car. The noise happens when starting the car after it has been sitting for at least 20 minutes. It sounds like something is broken inside the engine. On the last trip to the dealership toyota replaced the starter on my car and it did not resolve the issue. I am very concerned that something is wrong with the engine itself in my car since the starter has been replaced. I am afraid my car is going to stall out on me while driving causing me to have an accident. I have recorded sounds of the noise occurring and i would like to submit them when i am contacted.
This am i hit a deer on the way to work head on at 65-67 mph and not one air bag deployed!!! the entire front end crumpled to the windshield area and the radiator and parts torn lose to the top of engine and not one air bag deployed. Everyone at the wreck could not believe it and now i am terrified of the car if direct contact at that speed does not open the safety equipment what will? this car is not safe.
I was pulling into my driveway at 1 mile per hour and i put my foot on the brake to stop my car and it wouldn't stop! the engine revved up and my car went through my fence into my backyard. I tried in vain to stop my car, i kept pressing down on my brake, (5 times) with no success. I finally put my automatic transmission into park and it finally came to a stop. I was extremely shaken up since i thought i was going to die! i checked my car for damages, i noticed that my passenger side view mirror was damaged and there was other damage under my car. My car is only 3 months old and has 950 miles on it. I have been driving for over 30 years and i have never encountered anything like this. This happened on november 27, 2014, thanksgiving day at 10:00 am. The weather conditions were cloudy with a temperature of 34 degrees.
The contact owns a 2014 toyota corolla. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle, the steering wheel became very difficult to turn in either direction. Additionally, on several occasions the vehicle failed to immediately start. The vehicle was taken to racine toyota (133350 kilbourn dr. Mt. Pleasant wi), where the contact was informed that the failure was related to the nhtsa campaign number: 20v024000 (air bags). The contact was informed that the part was not yet available for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. Vin tool confirms parts not available. The failure mileage was 33,000.
Car experienced a sudden loss of power while driving on a city street. Check engine light is turned on. Mechanic at official toyota dealership suspects rocker arm actuator or variable valve timing system issues.
On 6/19/2016 driving home from running errands, i stopped at at red light but when the light turned green, the car didn't budge even though i was tapping and pressing the pedal. After about 7-8 seconds, the car finally responded and started slowly rolling to normal speed. On the same trip and the last intersection, the car did this again but at a stop sign. The gas pedal was dead when coming out of a complete stop. It took another 7-8 seconds for the engine/transmission to recognize it was time to roll. Luckily there was no cross traffic because i could have easily been hit due to cruising at 5 miles per hour. I'm taking the car tomorrow to the dealer. The car currently has 24,000 miles on it and this is the second time this has occurred.the first time this hesitation happened was in 2015 around the 12,000 mile mark. The car was at stop and didn't do anything for a few seconds when i hit the gas pedal. I took it to the dealer and the dealer could not duplicate the problem. I told them everything that happened and why i took it. This time they sent a service manager with me for a test drive and he said it felt fine. I was sent home with their assurance that the car was fine and that it was a fluke that the engine was acting up but everything was fine. I've read forums where this has happened with other corollas and camrys. This is dangerous and is an accident waiting to happen. I hope toyota takes responsibilities with my car and other cars with the same issue. Nhtsa, please do something before this transmission/acceleration issue becomes a real safety issue.i have video on my cell phone of the car acting erratic.
The contact owns a 2014 toyota corolla. While driving 45 mph, the engine rpms accelerated independently without warning. The contact placed the vehicle in park, turned off the ignition for one minute, restarted the vehicle, and it returned to normal. The contact mentioned that the same failure recurred over three years ago and a complaint was submitted at that time. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer and dealer were not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 48,000.
My check engine light came on. I also notice when attempting to slow down, the car would accelerate. The engine would seem to stall almost like a dead spot. Then when depressing the gas pedal several times the engine would catch and jump forward. Almost hitting the vehicle in front of us. This car accelerates at times when braking and hesitates when pressing on the gas.i also noticed when i was stopped at a light, the car moved backwards after taking my feet off the brakes. It could've hit the car in back of us. I asked the sale lady, if this car was apart of the recall and she told me that if it was the dealership would have to fix it before they sold it. I had the car for less than 2 weeks. I hope this car doesn't cause my family and someone else's family harm. Bigsafety issue! big safety issue!

I was driving my corolla s plus 2014 on el camino real, san mateo, ca southbound just past hillsdale blvd, when the engine became very noisy.i looked at the instrument panel and found the followings data:1) rpm meter -35002) speedometer - 30mph3) lcd display - eco bar gonethe car behaved the same even when i took my foot completely off the accelerator pedal.transmission defect and/or computer malfunction?luckily i was able to pull my car to the roadside and braked to a stop. I turned the engine off.after 2-3 minutes, i started the engine and all returned to normal.the exact same happening occurred to me just 2 days later on march 19, 2014.it could be very scary if the engine suddenly revs up and the car speeds up at the same time. I wonder if other owners of 2014 corolla have similar experiences.if so, this is something that has to be investigated.
Car experienced a sudden loss of power while turning a corner.rolled to a stop, turned key all the way off and then was able to restart the car.check engine light is now on.
When slowing and then attempting to accelerate, the engine would seem to stall almost like adead spot. Then when depressing the gas pedal several times the engine would catch andjump forward. Almost hitting the vehicle in front of us. Toyota dealership tells us this hesitation is absolutely normal, due to a new transmission system on the 2014 corolla... On several occasions this so called hesitationlasted several seconds during which time we had no movement what so ever...with this condition cars could hit us in the back cause we are momentarily stalled!!!poor performance and a safety issue!
While driving at night, with low beams on, oncoming traffic will flash their headlights. This has happened numerous times with some oncoming traffic turning on their high beams and leaving them on as they approach our car. I have checked to make sure that low beams are on when there is oncoming traffic. I have had the toyota dealer check the headlight adjustment twice. Their response is that the headlights are adjusted to spec. We are hesitant to drive the car at night because of the complaints we have received about the headlights.
Rear end collision hazard due to defective, poorly designed, automatic headlight systems. Almost got rear ended twice due to lack of tail lights, while in motion, driving! toyota claims the 2014 corolla has auto headlights. While the switch is kept in "drl" daytime running light mode the car tricks you at night into thinking the auto headlight, side markers and taillights are on after starting the car, when they are not on. You start the car and the headlights, and dash gage lights come on but nothing else is lit. No tailights, no side lights.i am told by the dealer canadian versions of the corolla have true auto headlights and my car would have to be programmed to work as an auto system, after adding the dash sensor.i am requesting toyota do this to correct this safety hazard to avoid a rear end collision on this car. All of my cars the last 20 yrs had auto headlights and worked flawlessly except this toyota corolla. I even put a note on the dash to remind me to manually turn the light switch on, but it is not seen in the dark when starting the car. I do not know what else to do other than appeal to the nhtsa for a complete review of this major manufacturer flaw.
Passenger side low beam is dim. High beam works fine. Had mechanic replace entire headlamp with no improvement
Headlight is one assembly and cost so much to replace that's why when the bulbs gets burnt out owners will just wait until the other one gets burnt also because it is too expensive to replace the whole assembly not like other cars that you can replace the bulbs for less than $5.00 but with this car it is like $250 to replace a burnt headlight. People who drive this corolla's are taking their risk specially at night driving without sufficient lights because it is too expensive to replace. Please check on this, thanks.

We purchased my car in 2014 new. Come 2015 we had to replace the charcoal canister. I believe the car had @60,000 miles (yes, that's a lot but those are mostly highway miles)on it at this time. Luckily it was covered under warranty. 7/ 2019 we had the same problem.less than 60, 000 miles more had been put on at this time. Guess what no warranty.! $1,000later we have a new charcoal canister.it is now 2/2020 , we are at 145,000 miles now and guess what? same problem.we've changed gas caps. We've done fuel treatments. We are now waiting on check engine light to come back on so we can take it back to the dealership(why is it off? because we just purchased the 3rd gas cap in 6mths and had to reset it to see if the gas cap was the cause.)problems: check engine light comes on, i could hear the fuel being pushed through the lines, it would miss as you give it gas.sometimes it'swhen you are taking off but it done it while on the highway also, the cruising range is not accurate(ex: i just filled up. Usually it gives me 428 miles now its telling me 376) and the eco light goes off. Now the 1st 2 times were kind of differentthan this time. I think were are in the beginningstages at this point now for the 3rd time.
I had just purchased a 2014 toyota corolla le eco, after only going 10 miles on a level dry evening surface, i was attempting to make a left hand turn up to go up hill.there was no response between the gas peddle and the engine.after two full depressions on the gas peddle, the peddle to engine finally engaged after a additional 1/2 peddle depression.the acception was a slow steady wind up and finally up to posted speed.this has happen 6 times in the last 3 1/2 months, with the last incident this week end.i had stopped driving this vehicle 1.5 months ago and just took it out for a 248 mile road this last week end.
When my wife parks the car in the garage and i go out later the fuel pump is still running. This has happened twice that i know of now and you have to put the key back in and turn it on then shut it off. I feel this could be a serious problem if the pump over heats.
I was putting gas and when i'm going to turn on my car doesn't turn on just after 15 min later ,this happened two times before i take it to toyota dealer for a deep diagnostic.the result was the charcoal canister need to be replace but i saw online2.98 millions toyota from year 2009-2015 has been recall fro same issue.i will like toyota to cover for this issue.
Fuel pump issue - when coming to a stop and stopped at a stop light or traffic, the engine sometimes sputters and the rpm drops below normal idling range, car starts to shake and feels like engine will stop.acceleration (press gas pedal) is needed to increase rpm or shift transmission in neutral
I believe it is this fuel safety switch. At times the car will not turn over but when we push the reset button in the glove compartment, it will start up.
Purchased car on 2014 on 02/21/2018, 4 years later the car slows down while driving on the highway.i pull over to the side median and tow the car to toyota dealer.they explained the transmission locked it will need a new one for 6k or rebuilt for 3k.how does this happen to a 4 year old toyota .
Car will rev up to 4000 rpm and get stuck while in motion. This generally happens with a cold engine and is getting progressively worse.
Jsd recall.car involuntarily accelorates. Bouncing of rmp, revving and sticking at high rev.team toyota deemed the transmission unserviceable and refused to do the jsd recall.while highway driving, intersection accelloration car revs and slows down. Advised the cvt trans needs to be replaced at 5500.00.car is at 55,000 miles and is apparently over the 5 year factory warrantee by 6 days at time it was brought in for service.issue only started happening in october 2018, 1 month before the factory warrantee ran out.i was out of town for 10 days and brought the car in for service upon my return and was advised the cvt trans needed replacing before they would do a recall. Picked car up and it was 500 times worse than when i dropped it off 4 days earlier. I have owned more than 2 toyotas and never had an issue.i am more than unhappy with this situation and fee the 5 year/60,000 mile factory warrantee should be honored.
The contact owns a 2014 toyota corolla. While driving approximately 35 mph, the vehicle failed to accelerate when the accelerator pedal was depressed. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic who determined that the transmission failed and needed replacement. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 90,000.
The contact owns a 2014 toyota corolla. The contact stated that the check engine indicator illuminated. While driving at unknown speeds, the accelerator pedal was applied and traveled to the floorboard. The vehicle failed to accelerate. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the codes were reset. The mechanic referred the contact to a dealer. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer (bill walsh toyota, 4000 n columbus street, ottawa, il 61350) where it was diagnosed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified and opened case number: 181200125. The manufacturer stated that the vehicle was not included in a recall nor was it under warranty. The vin was unknown. The failure mileage was 70,777.
When i put my cruise control at 65 at highway and when i am going downhill the revs go up to 4000 rpm which s too high.
I put the car in reverse to park. Suddenly, the car jumped into drive, went forward and hit a parked car.
I have a 2014 corolla that i bought new i only have less than 38000 miles on it the transmisson has already fail on it. They want $7200 ti fix i have found that they are having a problem on other cars that have a cvt transmisson in them between the years 2014 to 2019. I believe they should be recalled please keep me advised thank you [xxx] e-mail is [xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).
Driving at 30 mph, car on its own downshifts to low gear while in drive mode.happened 2 times in heavy afternoon drive traffic on side roads.transmission is jerky up hills.doesn't happen at freeway speeds, but came to a stop off the freeway, and then couldn't get it out of low gear.because i can't travel as fast and traffic behind me, causes an enormous safety problem.dealer says computer says nothing wrong.corolla has fewer than 69,000 miles on it.
The contact owns a 2014 toyota corolla. The contact stated that when the vehicle inclines, the vehicle would fail to accelerate and rolled backward. The failure recurred three times. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the transmission was bad designed and the failure could not be repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 15,000.
Cvt transmission making erratic ratio corrections when car was being driven at low speed which made the car literally jump at some speeds (0-30 mph) making it difficult to drive for in ex. A traffic jam (stop and go) and loose power when climbing for in ex. Parking places that had ramps (0-5 mph) due to erratic upshiftratio corrections that forces pressing the accelerator pedal to be able to keep the car climbing the ramps causing erratic jumps/speeds/pulls and sometimes the engine to backfire when climbing.car also had noticeablejumps when braking to a full stop condition from any speed.tested by dealership, diagnosed and replaced the cvt transmission with a remanufactured unit, got it back after 4 days. Right after driving it out of the dealer who supposedly took care of the 5k miles maintenanceas well, maintenance required soon indicator started to light every time the car is started. This condition could increase the chance of an accident when driven under those circumstances due to erratic/unexpected speed variations. Trac off& check engine light came on barelyfor a day even though the malfunction was present and were off when the car was left for the repair in the dealer, even though the condition started at least 10 days before as an intermittent situation, getting worse at days, not present during normal to hard acceleration but had to be taken to the dealership before the appointment due to worsening of the drivability, but the gauges never lighted up, but for a while, the day before it was taken to the dealer, which may indicate that due to the nature of the problem the on boad diagnostics systems may not alert a driver of the malfunction, even though is present, which may be causing those cars being driven by unexperienced owners/drivers with that fault being present increasing chances of having a accident, fortunately at low speeds.
The contact owns a 2014 toyota corolla. The contact stated that while driving approximately 15 mph, the engine roared abnormally loud. The contact indicated that the engine rpms suddenly increased to approximately 4000 and would not decrease until after the accelerator pedal was depressed. The contact stopped the vehicle and after three minutes, the engine rpms decreased. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 3300.
A whistling noise coming from the transmission i took the car in and the dealer told me the it was the trans. So they change the trans. With a new and the same thing the dealer told me the toyota knows about the problem my car has been in the shop five times for this problem and still to this day no fix for it.the whistling sound starts in any gear and is very loud and this is a (new car). This is a 2014 toyota corolla sounding like this. I'm afraid that the trans. May stop pulling while i'm driving in traffic which could cause and accident.
2014 corolla l with 4sp automatic transmission. When the vehicle is traveling around 50-55mph on the freeway and i try to speed up, the transmission will bang hard when downshifting from 4th to 3rd gear. There is a little bit of a delay when this happens. This has happened multiple times after i bought the car which was a month ago. I took the corolla back to magic toyota in edmonds, wa and they weren't able to find the problem. This happened a day after i bought the car on 08/01/2020 and it happens almost every day.. The problem went away after i disconnected the battery but then it returned last week. What's unsafe about this condition is the transmission is eventually going to break and it will happen when i'm on the freeway. This isn't a light jerk but a full on sledge hammer smack that happens when the transmission has a hard time downshifting from 4th to 3rd. So if the transmission breaks while i'm driving on i-405 then it could potentially cause a rear-ending collision.
I bought my toyota 2014 new from a dealership just paid off my car hd it for five years dealership said its the transmission that has gone out .repairs are going to be 7500.00 my car only lasted 5 years .this car should be recalled for the transmission .i bought a new car so i can go to work who can afford to spend seventy-five hundred dollars on the repair .please help the consumer like me.toyota should be responsible for the repairs can't afford these costly repairs and can't afford a new car
My abs and traction control light are on
After being driven for less than 200 miles of being received from dealership for a defective cvt transmission replacement, difficulties to keep the car going straight suddenly appeared, trying to do so caused it to pull the opposite during a suburban trip in a high speed way, so had to be driven to a safer place, (getting worse rapidly), and making clunking metallic noises on the front endwhen turning at corners and braking, and a loud humming noise when braking from highway speed (appeared at the same time and as sudden as the steeringsituation)to a full stop or from highway speed to a sudden lower one due to congestion.all this happened to appear on this last trip. Had to be towed back to the dealership. Condition showed up during a continuous rainy condition, perceived like a total loss of front end alignment, plus the noises. As of the writing of this message, just a few hours have passed after the incident happened, but because of the potentially dangerous "collision situation " experienced, due the speed of the highway in which this condition suddenly appeared(nothing warned about something wrong going before) is this report being sent. Maybe caused by or related to the procedure executedduring the previous cvt transmission replacement, (my opinion) has not yet been diagnosed by the dealership.
2014 toyota corolla. Consumer writes in regards to transmission issues. *ldthe consumer stated the vehicle stopped three times on the expressway. The consumer stated the manufacturer claimed the recall repair was completed, but it wasn't.
Regarding a 2014 toyota corolla s with manual transmission: the vehicle has less than 24,000 miles and the clutch was worn off substantially.i have over 30 years of experience driving vehicles with manual transmissions (used and new) and i have never had this problem.at the very beginning of the lease, i noticed that the clutch pedal sat higher than i am used to.moreover, the transmission kicked a bit if i released the clutch at the speed that i am used to.i informed this to the technician's at the toyota dealership, but they said that these behaviors were by design and that the clutch could not be adjusted because it is a hydraulic system.again, this event is very strange and based on my previous experience with numerous manual transmission vehicles, i am lead to conclude that the clutch system for this vehicle is poorly designed/manufactured/assembled.
For 2 years i've received recall on my car and each time i get same response from toyota the tejas location that they don't have a remedy and i will get notified when they do. This is unacceptable !!! this is my 2nd year waiting and they don't have a list for me to get on . Two years waiting in a fix is way too long.
Driver seatbelt not wanting to unlock when pressing red button. Also touch screen radio not recognizing touch please fix these issues i see multiple others having same issues!
The contact owned a 2014 toyota corolla. While driving 60 mph in inclement weather, the vehicle hydroplaned and crashed into a metal guardrail. The passenger side curtain air bags deployed; however, the front driver side air bag and seat belt pretensioner failed to operate as intended. The contact sustained a bulging disk in the back, which required medical attention. A police report was filed. The vehicle was destroyed and towed to an independent mechanic. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 51,887.
2014 toyota corollaodometer reading 56957 milesaccident 2-5-2020city street driving, car was in motion, car got side swipe (front bumper, driver fender, driver door, driver side rear door damage) and then rear ended another vehicle (front end damage), car is a total loss. None of the airbags deployed and seatbelt did not lock correctly
The corolla moving at about 35 mph on a 3 lane road hit another car that was stopped at a yellow blinking light in the rear, the corolla's impact was on the left front side first so on a slight angle to the rear of the stopped car so it did not hit squarely. The seat belt did not function and the female driver of the corolla hit her head on the window and her right knee hit the under dash, her weight is about 110 lbs. And small body frame. The air bags also did not function there is around $9000 damage to the car so this was not just a small collision. I have attached a pdf file with photos.
As i was leaving for work one day, i tried hooking my seat belt and it unhooked, i tried again and it unhooked. Hooked until the last time. It worries me that my seat belt doesn't work properly and could fail to protect me in an accident. This happenedin august 2017. I drive a toyota corolla s 2014. My car also has a non functional audio system and non functioning charger outlet. This is a hazard because i usually travel and need my navigation system functioning to get to places. Due to a non functional audio system i don't have access to navigation. I use my phone as navigation and when my phone battery dies i have no way of plugging it to charge in my car. On certain occasions i've found myself having to pull over in unfamiliar cities just to look for a place where i can plug my phone in to get battery, put the navigation and continue to my destination. It's really inconvenient and i don't feel safe having to take these measures.

Involved in a hit and run car accident on 01/23/2017 where i was rear ended by a vehicle driving approximately 60-70 mph. I was stationary at 0mph on th highway waiting on traffic to clear up .the hit from the unidentified driver caused me to hit my head on the steering wheel ( seatbelt didn't work) and rammed me into the car in front of me, contacting the right front of my car with the rear left side of the car in front of me.airbag did not deploy. The unknown person that hit me tried to leave the scene and hit me again as he didn't make it all the way around me causing me to swing and hit my head again ( seatbelt did not work again) pictures show evidence of 2 license plate indents on the back bumper.i have thus sustained injuries from the accident and at this time am still undergoing treatment for a head concussion, and bulging disc in my neck. The vehicle was determined to be a total loss or also known as a totaled vehicle.
The contact owns a 2014 toyota corolla. The contact stated that while driving at night she hit a deer at 65 mph. The deer hit on the passenger side of the front bumper. The whole front end of the vehicle including the frame was damaged. The contact did not seek medical attention. Since then the contact was sore and had neck pains. The vehicle was currently at a repair shop with no repairs performed yet. A police report was filed. The dealer and manufacturer had not yet been contacted. The seat and the air bags did not deploy with the frontal collision. The vin was included in nhtsa campaign number: 20v-024000 (air bags). The failure mileage was 83,000.
Takata recall.my seat belts seem to stick when trying to unbuckle them and also i got a letter in the mail about air bag recall i want to have it checked, as i have a four year old whose safety is important as well as mine. My complaint is not with toyota, it is with the new standards that require an extreme angle in the headrests of new vehicles. I am unable to use the headrest in my car unless i adjust the seat to recline and use a cushion behind me. The owner's manual advises against both practices, and they don't seem very safe to me. When i sit properly, the headrest forces my chin into my chest and causes neck pain and headaches. The headrest angle is not adjustable. My research shows that many others are having this problem as well. I understand that this new configuration is required by your standards to prevent whiplash injuries in accidents.please reconsider your ruling on this issue and allow us to drive safely and comfortably with adjustable headrests. Is it better to injure all of us to prevent whiplash in the few who get hit?
Vehicle features "whiplash injury lessening" ("wil") seats. I argue these seats led to dramatically severe injuries. The literature published by toyota in connection with the alleged safety of the seats implicitly states that benefits inure to those in lower-speed rear-end collisions. No study seems to indicate severity of higher-speed rear-end collisions. Specifically, whether or not wil seats actually benefit low-speed rear-end collision injuries while worsening high-speed rear-end collision injuries. I hypothesize that they worsen high-speed rear-end collision injuries, greatly. I was in a rear-end collision involving a vehicle hitting the toyota corolla with wil seats i was driving at or above 75 mph. I suffered 7+ slipped discs along spine, as well as a fractured vertebrae. The vehicle was in motion as it was struck from the rear, and the vehicle i was driving was moving at or about 75mph. The vehicle colliding with my vehicle was driving 75+ mph.
Bought the car new in june 2014. After a few months of driving, i have developed bad neck and back pain due to the design of the seat and head restraint. I like t o sit straight and the head restraint is forcing me to keep my head bent forward, which after a few month, has cause me to head neck and back pain.
The contact owns a 2014 toyota corolla. The contact stated that the front passenger head rest was unable to be repositioned and was tilted forward. Takata recall, when driving to crestline ca. The traction control lock up the front left wheel at 60 mph and made me hit the inside guardrail again the wheel locked up at 50 mph and again at 45 mph i had to drive at 20 mph this happen when driving on a road going up hill on left hand curves, the traction control light flicker each time the wheel locked up i was not able to disengage the traction control. When i reached a shell station a person toll me it happens when you have low tire pressure, i checked tire pressure on each tire 21, 23, 24, 26 was the reading on the tires, my tire low pressure light never came on. I filled the the tires and seem to fix the traction control and the wheel locking up. Than two weeks later i was parking at uci hospital parking structure pulling in a parking spot the brakes went totally out causing me to hit the parking structure, the brake pedal goes to the floor (all the way down).i was doing less than 5 mph and the air bags didn't go off also again no lights on the dash and any indication that there was anything wrong.

The vehicle was destroyed and was not inspected to determine the cause of the brake failure. The manufacture was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 250.
Purchased car used (7000 miles) from toyota dealer in acton, ma.took in for checkup every 5000 miles until 35,000 miles.at 38,000 miles, took off front wheels to check brakes and found that the inside of both rotors were terrifically grooved and the pads the same, while the outside of the rotors was good and the outside pads hardly used.the brake calipers on both sides were frozen. I replaced everything and showed the dealership my pictures.they said they would talk to their staff and offered no help, so i paid for everything.this was unsafe and obviously missed multiple times on the "160-point inspection"! it looked like a problem from when the car was new and first used as a rental by the dealer. The brakes made little extra sound(but the scraping would have been under the engine compartment) and the brakes stopped the car okay with just a little extra pressure---i thought it was normal for this car.
The contact owns a 2014 toyota corolla. While driving less than 30 mph from a cul-de-sac, the vehicle accelerated at a high rate of speed independently. The accelerator pedal was stuck and would not release. The vehicle crashed into a tree. None of the air bags deployed. The brakes were applied with force, but failed to stop the vehicle. The driver sustained back and neck pain. The passenger sustained chest pains. Both occupants received medical treatment. The insurance company was notified of the crash and was to tow the vehicle to inspect the cause of the failure. The dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was notified of the crash. A police report was filed. The manufacturer issued 32 tsbs for the electrical system and two for the brake system. The failure mileage was not available.
Brake light switch failed; no brake lights.the problem was intermittent, occurring while both stationary and in motion.
While driving on a highway in stop and go traffic, the brakes on the vehicle failed. Even with the brake pedal pressed completely, the car continued to move forward. I was fortunately able to swerve into the shoulder and pull the emergency brake, and there was no incident. However, the toyota dealership was not able to find the root cause of the incident and it seems like nothing was wrong. They tested out the brakes and everything seemed technically fine. I was told that they wouldn't be able to do anything unless they could recreate the incident and understand what went wrong. I'm now just driving the car and hoping the situation is never recreated because next time, i might not be lucky enough to get away without any incident.
My 2014 toyota corolla le is a lease i picked up in december 2013 & now has 3641 miles on it. I first noticed this issue with the brakes within first month but felt because the 2011 corolla i just turned in was a different model (not le) & many changes in 2014 model that perhaps i should give it more time. The problem is when i stop at a traffic light i must put a lot of pressure on brake pedal & press it down to the floor as far as it will go otherwise car will start to roll. I had it checked several times at toyota dealers & no one can find anything wrong so i've been living with it. Last week i had a chance to drive a different 2014 toyota corolla & brake reactions different i did not have to press down on the brake pedal as hard or as far as i do with mine. On 3/17/2015 i brought my car into toyota dealer for brakes check only & tech checked system for codes (?) & did test drive by himself & stated he did not notice anything wrong, then he did test drive with me driving to see if i could 'recreate' the issue & although this tech admitted he could see i had the brake pedal pushed down to the floor the rolling at light did not occur (of course).the tech told me as far as the other 2014 corolla's brake pedal reactions that toyota might have drum brakes on it (?) & my car has disc brakes.the tech also told me there is nothing they can do to adjust, fix or repair disc brakes(?) will have to take his word for it. In any event i was told me to keep a watch if it happens again, also if car is cold or hot & sometimescar will roll automatically at a light due to a/c going on & off & regulating itself (will have to take tech's word).the only thing i know is at a stop light if i don't hold that brake pedal down hard & as far to the floor as i can the car will roll which to me is dangerous; haven't hit anyone or anything but to me this doesn't seem normal or right to me.
I have been involved in 2 car accidents where i rear ended both cars due to brake failure. One of those was today. In both situations, we were at a red light and the car before me accelerated because the light changed and suddenly stopped. I also accelerated not even reaching 10 mph and i had to jam the breaks. I was at a reasonable distance where with proper breaks i would have stopped soon enough and not hit the car, but unfortunately in both cases my brake pedal sank in a little further and vibrated. The car continued to move forward and hit the car. Because it was a sudden stop, tires would have screeched because of the jamming of the breaks, but that really didn't happen and the car just kept going.
The contact owned a 2014 toyota corolla. While driving 15 mph, the brake pedal was depressed and the brakes seized. The contact's vehicle crashed into the rear of another vehicle. The air bags failed to deploy. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic. There were no injuries and a police report was not filed. The vehicle was destroyed. The approximate failure mileage was 29,300.
I was pulling into a parking space in chestertown (maryland) at an apartment complex and tried to brake and the car did not come to a stop until it went up on the sidewalk.
The contact owned a 2014 toyota corolla. While driving around a mall parking lot, the accelerator pedal was depressed and the vehicle violently accelerated. The brakes failed to stop the vehicle and it crashed into a boulder. The contact sustained a fractured sternum and a fractured back that required medical attention. A police report was filed. The vehicle was destroyed. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 200,000.
The contact owns a 2014 toyota corolla. While driving at low speeds, the brakes failed to stop the vehicle and it suddenly accelerated independently. The failure occurred on several occasions. The vehicle was taken to a dealer. The technician was unable to duplicate the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the issue. The approximate failure mileage was 100.
As i was driving around a curved street, my steering wheel locks on me.i could not swerve and turn my car to follow the curved street.i could not move the wheel at all.my car ran into a tree head first.all the airbags deployed and smoke appeared.my entire car was totaled and smashed in the front.scariest thing because i had no control. Thank god, my 1 year old son was not in the backseat or else he would have been fatally injured with those airbags.i need to know what can be done.toyota has had recalls in the past and this could have ended my life.
As i was driving home my steering wheel locked and became very difficult to turn it. After i made it home my car didn't turn back on and my battery is only a few months old.
Myself and my sister were going from east boston to i93 via the sumner tunnel onto route 93 to the rockingham mall and i was driving 55mph at or around andover/ north andover in the middle lane and suddenly the car started veering to the left and then to the right for about 1-2 minutes.i had both hands on the wheel and i had absolutely no steering at all, no power, no regular, nothing! there was nothing i could do and all the cars around me where passing me and going into different lanes and they all stayed as far away from me as possible and then all of a sudden it came back as if nothing happened. I leased it at atlantic toyota and i called and asked to speak with the head of the service dept. And i was told everyone had gone home for memorial day weekend and call back tuesday morning, and then i asked to speak to the head of the dealership and i got no answer and i was not able to leave a message or anything, the only person i spoke to was the receptionist and she couldn't give me any answers or anyone to call, she wasn't at all interested when i told her my sister and i could have been killed, all she could say was call back after the memorial weekend and i was furious and she hung up.
This is sporadic, i will try to start the car and it doesn't want to turn over, after several tries, it does. Several times i have no power steering. When driving over speeds of sixty, the car wants to 'wander' to the left and right. I have read this has been a problem with this vehicle since before 2010, talk of recall in 2010 because of the power steering failure. This is happened very often so i can't pick a day, it has been happening for several month
The power steering is not suitable for highway speeds of over 50 mph. This steering is so sensitive at highway speeds that it requires 150% concentration and effort to keep the steering straight. Natural wind, wind produced by cars, small bumps on the roads, concrete separating lines...anything and everything will cause this car to shift direction to the sides in the highway. It was simply poorly designedand not stiff enough. This is a safety concern. In sport mode i do believe the power steering hardens/tightens a bit but it is not even enough. Please have this checked out.- owner of 2014 corolla
'takata recall' when driving usually on highways above 40 mph car shifts to the right unable to completely keep control of steering wheel when there's any kind of wind outside. Complete alignment had been done passes with all green 4 new tires have been put on as well and no change vehicle as never been involved in an accident.
Nhtsa 11321077 epssteering wheel hard to move when turning.
I got this car from a dealer around march 2015. Today i was drivingin the city streets in south beach , miami and suddenly the car tried to turn by itself one side and when i tried to put it back in straight direction it was very stifflike and old car. I noticeda light turned on for a few seconds with a steering wheel and exclamation. I read this and found this is a serious toyota electric assisted direction problem . I'm really worry about this and don't know what to do. I saw several people had accidents because this defect in the system.
While making a 90 degree turn from the roadway into a parking space i heard a loud snapping, banging noise from the right front of my vehicle and the vehicle came to an abrupt stop. I turned the ignition off and checked the front side of my vehicle and was alarmed to find that my right front wheel was pointed in the opposite direction of my left front wheel and upon further investigation found what appears to be a snapped tie rod end or lower control arm. The following morning i had a tow truck haul the vehicle to the dealer that i originally purchased the vehicle from. The tow truck driver was able to straighten out the wheel in order to get the vehicle on the truck. The driver commented " you are some fortunate that you weren't traveling any faster you would have no control over your steering!"the dealer let me know that the vehicle needs an inner and outer tie rod, sway bar link, a strut assembly and a new axle!! the dealer further went on to say that the parts are all under warranty so you are all set!! i asked, how is it possible that a vehicle with only 11,800 miles could have had such a catastrophic failure. The answer, we are not sure at this point the parts will be shipped back to the factory.
2014 toyota corolla.consumer writes in regards to engine and steering wheel issues.the consumer was unable to start the engine due to the steering wheel being in the locked position. The ignition key would not turn.the dealer informed the consumer, the steering wheel self locked, and he would have to wiggle the steering wheel left to right. The consumer stated the vehicle suddenly started to accelerate to a seemingly uncontrolled speed. The consumer applied the brake and lowered the gear to its lowest ratio, but with little effect to control the seemingly ever increasing speed of the vehicle.the consumer managed to navigate several short radius curves and tore down the slope road toward a main commuter roadway.the vehicle was speeding out of control and unfortunately he hit a commercial van.the consumer finally managed to get the vehicle stopped. However, the engine was still running. The vehicle was placed in parked. The vehicle was towed to the dealer. Updated 10/28/15.
While going down a winding road, the car unexpectedly accelerated at a very high speed and veered to the right and the body was damaged costing over $4000. It was towed back to the dealer; they allegedly placed it on a scanner and claimed nothing was wrong with the vehicle because it not show any 'codes.' i have become familiar with the recentrecalls and acceleration problems with this model and would like toyota to perform a more thorough inspection.
Power steering stops working while driving, in motion, on city streets.
Car was driving down the highway and came to a turn and the steering wheel would not move. The road straightened still unable to move steering wheel and jerked it after veering into other lane which unlocked steering wheel causing an over correction and total loss of the vehicle.
Hello,i drive 100 mile every day from pittsburgh, ca to hayward, ca for school. I recently purchased a 2014 corolla le, because i wanted a reliable car for my daily commute. I have noticed at speeds over 60 mph, my car seems to be blown around by wind and there is no wind gust strong enough to do that. I have visited the dealership (dublin toyota) twice in other to find out the problem, they said everything is up to spec. They have done alignment and even adjusted the tire pressure, yet there is no improvement on the steering or handling of the car. The car waves on the freeway and it is a struggle to keep it in one lane. I really feel unsafe in the car and i have tried everything including loading up my car with weight in order to make heavier. I know something is either wrong with the rear suspension and axle or the power steering is simply bad. Please find out why this is this way from toyota, because i don't feel safe driving the car on the freeway. I noticed this problem starting the day i brought the car.

So i leased the 2014 toyota corolla s plus on2/23/14. Approximately 2 to 3 weeks later i was vacuuming it out, when i lifted up the driver side car mat it had an enormous amount of water under the mat. So i dried it out, when i vacuumed it out again a week later there was water again under the driver side car mat. Again i dried the floor and i took the mats out, let them dry out.then every morning i would check and water was under my driver side mat. I took it to the dealership they think possibly a leak in the windshield. I explained to them several times, i roll my driver side window down when i get in my car every morning and water literally pours in when i start driving.my arms and legs are wet every morning, it's from the morning dew on the car, it runs right in. I have to keep a towel in my door compartment so i can wipe the water off, so it doesn't ruin the interior. The dealership has now had it for 3 days, fri, sat, sun to "dry it out" because they pulled back the carpets and water was under it. They say none of the tubes are leaking and all the tubes are under the passenger side anyways, everything checks out fine. Personally i think its a design flaw, with the windows seeing as how the 2014 is a redesign.
I was making a right turn pulling into a parking space in a shopping mall.i was approximately 1/2 to 3/4 of the way in when the vehicle took off and went into a tree and then a wall. I would guess the vehicle traveled approximately 40 feet after the sudden and unintended acceleration.this definitely was sudden and unintended acceleration.the front end of the vehicle was damaged by the tree and the wallthe air bag did not deploy.
2014 toyota corolla sunroof exploded, while driving on hwy 95 about 40-45 mph, sounded like a gunshot lucky we had the cover of the sunroof closed, thought it could have been a rock but there were no cars in front of us, got home and found hole in the sunroof, glass was raised as if something came from the inside out
Well i just buy a toyota corolla 2014 on 10/14/2013 and the windshield just crack the car was on my drive way the car was park and when i was livingmy place and i got in to my car i saw a crack on the windshieldso im thinking who did the happen from no where so i went on line i google i foundall this complains about toyota windshield cracking for no reason . I call the dealer and told them what happen and ask them about the price and the windshield its 900 and the installation is 300 . Sothink the windshield is a very poor quality because if its just not my car andthe windshield cracks over and over some thing it's wrong with the material and its not safe at and what's i think they should make the windshield more safe. Can you please fin this .
Moisture and mold inside car for no reason. The car has seen no spillage and no opened windows during rain yet the interior is always fogged up since the week it was purchased and the car traps moisture and causes mold in the vents on the floor inside the doorway.

I bought a 2014 certified toyota corolla s at toyota culver city last july 2017, maintanance of my vehicle is always service at this location ever since i got it. The other day while cleaning my vehicle i noticed that the paint on the corner side of my hood is peeling off. Thought that it was just normal so i bought a toyota touch up paint and tried to touch up the peeling paint but ever time i brush it lightly to add the touch up paint the paint on my hood will peel off. I checked google to see if im the only one who has encounter this paint issue. But its not just me. I checked if there are any recalls from toyota about the paint job but nothing.

The contact's daughter drove over the bumper and the vehicle behind her also drove over the bumper. The vehicle was taken to west paint body shop (5500 w 33rd st, little rock, ar 72204) where it was diagnosed that the bumper needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact also stated that the front bumper started slowly detaching three weeks after the repair was performed. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and asked the contact to call the dealer. The failure mileage was unknown.

I was driving in a normal local road condition in a sunday afternoon. I was aware a 6" crack on the drive-side windshield. It started from the edge. Next morning when i drove to work, it grew to about 2' long. It scared me and i took immediately action and fixed it next day (tuesday).

When i pull my car into a parking spot with a cement parking bump stopper, the car hangs up on it causing some scratches on the underside- toyota has said there is no design flaw but i disagree. If i do not pull in all the way, i risk someone hitting the back of the car because iwill be sticking out too far. A second problem is the ac. I live in florida and when i get into the car it is often over 100 degrees.. I have to drive for a few minutes with hot air blowing on me before the cool air kicks in. This makes me sweat and very uncomfortable. Toyota says that is just the design of the car. I never had that problem with my two rav4's.i am also wondering if a have the airbags that are recalled. No notice yet.
As i was driving through the rain storm at night, i noticed my windshield wiper motor stop working. The next morning i found there is a flaw of design where the fluid delivery system is below the engine hood which is a completely and utterly moronic. I found out damaged/dent hood caused it to improperly malfunction.
I was driving down a secluded street at about 20mph when i heard a loyd explosion on my right side of my car. My passenger side mirror had exploded. The mirror itself was shattered and hanging down, the back panel was found in some bushes on the side of the street. I was driving up the street so cars were on my left. There was no one walking past, nor were there any bicycles or anything on the side of the road that could cause such damage. It was very frightening. I spent almost 30minutes walking up and down the street trying to figure out what could have happened and nothing made sense. The mirror did not turn in, as would happen if i had hit something. There is a black mark on my car door from the glass piece slamming into it from the explosion.
I put the car in reverse to park. Suddenly, the car jumped into drive, went forward and hit a parked car.

Collided at 60+ mph on 190 by diesel large truck major front and side damage and no airbag deployment of any kind. His truck was fine and none of my side nor frontal airbags went off. My head slammed into the driver's window and my neck and back are really hurting. This happened just a couple days ago.

I was pulling into a parking space & slowing down.i turned left into the space and, of course, had my foot on the brake and my car suddenly accelerated on it's own.i kept pushing on the brake but it kept going.the higher than usual curb at the shopping center, i suppose, is what stopped the car, though my foot repeatedly kept pushing the brake.
'takata recall' when driving usually on highways above 40 mph car shifts to the right unable to completely keep control of steering wheel when there's any kind of wind outside. Complete alignment had been done passes with all green 4 new tires have been put on as well and no change vehicle as never been involved in an accident.
Tires or rims not sealed properly causing the tires to lose air pressure. Loss of air in one or all tires could cause a steering failure , a blow out and a loss of control on highway driving. In 1 1/2 years pressure has fallen to as low as 17 lbspressure on all tires. Dealer said it is normal and keep checking pressure. I would like to have the problem fixed by either the rims or tires replaced as they are surely not sealing properly. So far the air has leaked out four times in the 1 1/2 years and 3388 miles of driving. The dealer acknowledged the problem and that other toyota customer have had similar complaints but nothing can be done about it.dealer info :village cadillac /toyota2431 s, suncoasr blvdhomosassa fl, 34448352 626-5100cust # [xxx]invoice # [xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).
First, the door no open with the control. Second, when i drive the car its no have power, its in slow velocity. When i put in drive, beginning to tremble. Have the light, that said "check".
My abs and traction control light are on
The touch radio not working and cannot connect my celphone withthe handsfree
My vehicle has been recalled
Air conditioning problem: the vehicle has intermittent air conditioning. Sometimes it blows cold, other times it blows hot (randomly). I have had it at the dealer. They have confirmed the problem exists, but are at a loss as how to fix it. They told me they have seen this problem before.
Tried to call this # 1-800-331-4331. Cannot get through. You have to answer a survey about the rep that you havent spoken to. Very frustrating.

Previous owners continue to put his things in my car and let me know that he still have a key.
None of the windows clear of the rainwater when windows are rolled up or down.serious problem when it is raining because you cannot see out of the windows without rolling the windows down.affects visibility.
While driving on an interstate (~80mph) i heard a loud noise above me. I noticed glass was on my lap and on the passenger seat. I looked up to see my sunroof had shattered (the sunroof cover was open). I pulled over expecting to find something in my car (i.e. Debris from the road) that caused the sunroof damage. No foreign object was found. No other damage (scratch, dent, etc.) was evident on any part of the car. I drive a 2014 toyota corolla s.
Moisture and mold inside car for no reason. The car has seen no spillage and no opened windows during rain yet the interior is always fogged up since the week it was purchased and the car traps moisture and causes mold in the vents on the floor inside the doorway.
Ac blows hot air while idling and takes 20 seconds to start blowing after it is turned on. When it does come on it barely blows air on all air speeds. At 29,000 miles and in 120 degree weather this is a safety issue. Toyota forums and consumer reports shows ac problems that toyota knows about, and does not do anything to fix these cars that were sold with faulty parts. Why does toyota not help those that are just past the 36 month warranty but under 36,000 miles in 3 yr old car? it is not like i am trying to get repair for a 2004 corolla. Please help.
Nothing happened i just bought the vehicle and when i put the vin # in the safety recall popped up.
2014 toyota corolla sunroof exploded, while driving on hwy 95 about 40-45 mph, sounded like a gunshot lucky we had the cover of the sunroof closed, thought it could have been a rock but there were no cars in front of us, got home and found hole in the sunroof, glass was raised as if something came from the inside out
Takata recalli buying my vehicle toyota corolla 2014 in egypt in march 2014.i use it until now and making all the service required through the agent serves center every 10000 km until now.now the vehicle make around 138000 km.suddenly i heard a noise from the transmission (cvt) so i send it to the serves center they told me that they need to change the transmission and the torque converter and i should pay all the fees which will be around 130000 egp (7300 usd) as my vehicle is out of warranty period.the question is why i should pay all this amount, i do all the serves on time without delaying in the agent serves center.is it normal to change the transmission every 137000 km, this is never happened with me before in toyota vehicles.so i need to know what should i do.thank you.
While vehicle is on the thruway traveling around 75 mph my vehicle stops accelerating even when the gas peddle is pressed while vehile is in motioj. Once on the side of the road vehicle has to be towed. This has happened 3 times. Each time it is taken to the shop the codes are checked and vehicle looked over and nothing seems to be wrong with the codes that come up. I called corporate and they told me my vin was in the recall. Called back a few days later and they said it wasn't. So they gave me false information. I have heard this happened to many other cars lately and believe it should be a recalled issue, no matter what year and model the toyota is! its dangerous!
I was sent a recall regarding defective paint chipping and fading ,more than a year ago, which states a known issue with the grade of white paint the manufacturer used on toyota vehicles ( including 2014 toyota corolla),and offers to repaint at no cost .i called after registering to have issue corrected only to be given generic answer and , never getting any follow up call or update. My car should be painted as promised
The headlights of the new toyota corolla 2014+ are overly bright when driving in front of one or when one is passing in the other direction. It is blinding. I have had this happen multiple times and it is always a corolla with low beams thathave bright white blinding beams. Please recall this vehicle and force the manufacturer to use normal bulbs or normal brightness.
The stereo system with the touch screen keeps looping in a reboot. The bright screen flashes on and off and on and off continuously while driving causing a distraction as you are unable to switch off the stereo system.
The problem started with 3 of the door lock actuators not functioning properly on my 2014 corolla.the key fob would not activate them. I brought it in for service on 2/8/2020 and the dealer confirmed they were faulty and would order the parts.within a couple of days, the 4th actuator and the trunk lock actuator also failed. I bought it in on 2/15/2020 to have the first 3 fixed and also to confirm the problem with the other 2 issues so those parts could be ordered.i was told the cost to fix the first 3 would be about $1500!the extended warranty i purchased had expired and so i could not afford this.i was told by the service consultant that he's seen this problem with corollas. I looked on line and have found numerous complaints for this same vehicle about this same situation.with this number of complaints, i would think there would have been a recall by toyota as this can be considered a safety issue, considering it takes longer for people to get in their which can subject them to possible criminal activity.they also should do the right thing and fix them at no charge because they know it's a problem.i've attachedthe service for 2/15/2020 just to show that i did bring it in.
22,000 miles and ac is not working
Car will rev up to 4000 rpm and get stuck while in motion. This generally happens with a cold engine and is getting progressively worse.
The car sometimes has a hesitation problem from a dead stop; especially when making a left turn. This creates a scary situation due to i never know when it's going to happen so i have to wait quite awhile for oncoming traffic to spread out much further then normal (about 50 car lengths) sometimes this is not practical so i have to chance it & hope not to get broadsided. The dealership is of no help & i doubt if they have written it down the 2 times i reported it. This problem has happened over 50 times over the last 21 months & started in month # 1. The dealership said that toyota had a new style transmission & that might be the problem but that is doubtful because the engine rpm's don't come up. The symptoms appear to be a fuel starving problem.

When accelerating the engine revolutions rise in excess and there is no logical increase in the speed.the transmission software was updated and i think it's worse.

When i was driving at night with headlights on, with cruise control on, the car accelerated by itself upto the speed of 85 mph even though i set cruise at 65 mph. I tried this multiple times and all the time it went up to 85 mph and stayed there even though i set it for lower speed. This seems to be happening while the headlights are on.i have drove with cruise on, in the daytime and it works fine. Since then, i have never drove this with cruise on at night.
I was driving my car on a crowded city street. It was rush hour and the traffic was sort of stop and go. After a stop, i accelerated my car to about 25 m/h following the car before me, then i noticed my car was going faster than i intended and approaching the car ahead. I applied the brakes in a normal manner, however, the car did not slow down and continued to accelerate. Feeling something was wrong, i slammed on the brakes, but it was not early enough to stop before rear-ending the car. Even after the crash and stop, my car's engine was continuing revving up until i turned off the engine by turning the key. I had a dash cam on my corolla and the accident was recorded with clear movie and sound.

In june 6, 2011 i had a crash because my toyota corolla suddenly accelerated as i was turning into a parking spot. Toyota had the car inspected in house and claimed there was no defect in the cars systems. I filed a report with the nhtsa to no avail. Just recently on december 13th & december 14th, 2014 the same thing happened. The car suddenly accelerated as i was turning into parking spots. I am positive there is a defect in the car. I am afraid i may be killed or injured with this sudden unintended acceleration.

The contact owns a 2014 toyota corolla. While pulling into a parking space, the vehicle accelerated and crashed into a cement brick structure when the brake pedal was depressed. The vehicle landed on top of the cement brick structure, which caused the front driver side tire to explode. The air bags did not deploy. The vehicle was towed to the contact's residence where it was not diagnosed or repaired. A police report was filed and there were no injuries reported. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 12,300. Updated 02/12/16*lj
The contact owns a 2014 toyota corolla. While turning into a parking space at approximately 5 mph, the vehicle accelerated independently without warning. The contact had to forcefully depress the brake pedal to stop the vehicle. The contact stated that the failure occurred on two occasions. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer (frankfort toyota, 1001 leestown rd, frankfort, ky 40601), but they were unable to duplicate the failures. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 10,000.
My windshield wipers work on the low functions but have not worked on the fast speed for as long as i have had my vehicle. I have contacted toyota and they stated my vehicle was not affected by the recall for the short in the windshield wiper switch. This causes a visibility issue when driving in rain. The wipers stop completely when switching from slow to fast speed so i can only use the low speeds which does not help much during storms.
I bought a 2014 corolla on 03.04.2020 and, i have discovered at night (especially) all i get is a glare due to the number of defogger lines on the rear windshield.i cannot see any vehicles behind me at all. All i see is a glare of lights, i have no idea how far or near the vehicles behind me are.
Intense glare on front windshield resulting in zero visibility. This happened twice. Other uncomfortable visibility issues in direct sunlight happening at least a half dozen times. Happened when car was in motion or just starting to move on city streets.

The contact owns a 2014 toyota corolla. The contact stated that the head lights reflection from the drivers side mirror temporary blinded the driver. Also, the contact mentioned that the visor on the drivers side was too short to block the sunlight. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The technician explained that the vehicle was working up to standards and they could not alter the design of the vehicle. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 300. Updated 12/18/14the consumer stated the driver's side mirror was brighter than the passenger side. At night vehicles passing on the left are blinding as the lights shine off the mirror.
Bought a new car in april 2014 from toyota dealer (toyota of mckinney). Since then havingproblem with rear windshield. In the night driving there is a refraction of lights from the cars coming from behind. Dealer is not ready to fix this issue saying its a design flaw from toyota. When contacted toyota they are not accepting the issue saying its user preference. Its really annoying to drive in nights also its a safety issue when visibility is disturbed affecting to see cars coming behind.this issue is in all corolla 2014 models and even in camry. Not sure how they can neglect this issue.would like to know the correct contacts and help to file complain against toyota.thanks in advance.
Moisture and mold inside car for no reason. The car has seen no spillage and no opened windows during rain yet the interior is always fogged up since the week it was purchased and the car traps moisture and causes mold in the vents on the floor inside the doorway.
Very weak windshield easily get scratch chips windshield should be protected and strong this is my 2nd car from toyota i never have problem in my first toyota but this 2nd car toyota corolla liitle scary
Tl-contact owns a 2014 toyota corolla svehicle has 29000 miles----- contact statted when defroster is turned on the radion cuts off--- rear window defroster wiring destroyed. The contact owns a 2014 toyota corolla. The contact stated that there was an extreme blind spot created by the driver's side door frame. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the failure could not be replicated. The manufacturer was contacted about the failure. The failure mileage and vin was not available.
As i was driving through the rain storm at night, i noticed my windshield wiper motor stop working. The next morning i found there is a flaw of design where the fluid delivery system is below the engine hood which is a completely and utterly moronic. I found out damaged/dent hood caused it to improperly malfunction.
Several times i came too close to hitting a car on my right side that i could barely see because of the way the car is made. The back half of the car's roof is held up by two "posts" (i don't know their real name).these are wide enough that they block a lot of my vision when i am trying to decide if it is safe to change into the lane on my right.when this is combined with the right, rear headrest, it is very difficult to see a car if he is in that huge blindspot.this design is very dangerous.
The contact owns a 2014 toyota corolla. While driving at 40 mph on a snowy day, the windshield fogged up and froze. The defroster did not work. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where it was diagnosed that wiper fluid needed to be purchased. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and stated that it was due to weather. The contact was referred back to the dealer who diagnosed that there was nothing wrong with the vehicle. The contact no longer has the vehicle. The vin was not provided. The failure mileage was 6,000. Updated 03/08/16*lj; updated 04/24/18vin added updated 05/17/18
I was driving in a normal local road condition in a sunday afternoon. I was aware a 6" crack on the drive-side windshield. It started from the edge. Next morning when i drove to work, it grew to about 2' long. It scared me and i took immediately action and fixed it next day (tuesday).
I tried to drive it home but it was not working.we had it towed to toyota in rockwall.they had someone look at it.the person that looked at it called my home to get my story but asked my husband what took place.i didn't get the message till the next day.when i was getting ready to call him back, my husband told me that he called and said he did not need to talk to me.how can you legitimately tell me what i say happened did not happen when you haven't even talked to me.i was the only one in the car, not my husband.they checked out the "black box" i suppose and sent me a very nice letter basically telling me what i told my husband happened, did not happen.i do not lie.i was there and i know what happened.i was very disappointed in the way that this was handled.i felt like how could i even fight this, toyota is a big corporation.i am just one person who had an incident with one of their vehicles.it would be my word against theirs.i appreciate nhtsa taking the time to hear my side of what happened.my husband and i are fans of toyota vehicles.i have several camrys and my husband presently drives a prius and a tundra so again, we are very disappointed in the way that this was handled.
This is not a real complaint. This is a test.
Collided at 60+ mph on 190 by diesel large truck major front and side damage and no airbag deployment of any kind. His truck was fine and none of my side nor frontal airbags went off. My head slammed into the driver's window and my neck and back are really hurting. This happened just a couple days ago.
