I was in a car accident last year and i was sitting on the passenger seat and my husband was on the drivers seat along with my two children in the back seat. We were rear ended by high speed vehicle driving erratically. All of us suffered whip lash and back injuries in the accident. Also, the airbag never got deployed and the air bag sign is on the dash board. This is very dangerous life and death situation and i am upset for buying a brand new car which ihoped that all safety equipment will be working. I was shocked and hurt at the same time. After that few months later i received airbag recall notice to take the vehicle for repair to the nearest toyota dealer ship. I was informed by the dealership that they couldn't do anything and they couldn't fix the air bag sign coming on the dashboard and they didn't fix the defective airbag. I am referring to this serious issue without any outcome. My injured to me and my family is not worth driving defective vehicle. I need someone who can get back to me and provide solution.
Airbag recall 19v627 still has no remedy. Recall was issued8/28/2019 and will be 9 months on the 27th of may. This is unacceptable in my opinionand unsafe .

I received a recall notice saying i needed immediate replacement. My dealer fort bend toyota has told me for months that the parts are on back order and can not give me a date for repair
Takata recall: toyota is essentially harassing me about getting this repair done, but the repair cannot be done because they cannot get the parts in. I have tentatively scheduled a repair after my third call to the recall line, but no one can guarantee the parts will be in by then, either. It took them 8 months to tell me the parts were "in" and i could schedule my repair, now they tell me the parts are not in and it's not safe to even drive my car if i haven't had the repair. How am i supposed to get to work? grocery store? are they going to give me a car to drive until they can find the parts that are needed for this recall? i feel like they are sending out these notices to satisfy their requirements, but they aren't actually meeting the requirements of getting these repairs done. And when i did call them, they had the nerve to ask me what had taken me so long to call. I don't know, maybe the fact it took you 8 months to get the parts led me to believe this wasn't an urgent matter. And clearly, based on the parts availability, it is not.
I have received three (3) separate recall notices to fix the airbag on the front passenger side of my vehicle. Toyota has not allowed me to drive a safe vehicle in over 10 years. I do not feel confident that they will ever make it safe. The nhtsa needs to step in and fix this issue immediately. Even the united states district court of the southern district of florida has stepped in with a class action settlement. Toyota and takata should not be able to continue to do business in the united states until all of this is successfully resolved.

I received a letter from toyota notifying me of an interim safety recall notice about 7 months ago.they stated that they would send another letter when parts were available and recommended not operating the vehicle with someone in the passenger seat, which is unavoidable in my case.they have not followed up on this, which i feel is negligent.what can you do about this?

Second or third recall on passenger airbag.received notification of current recall (8/2019 or earlier) stating no remedy available - toyota recommends no one sitting in the passenger seat - unrealistic in setting of >6 mo timeline for repair.checked back (2/12/20) and toyota website says remedy is now available; however, dealership (gladstone, or) service center states there is still no remedy.extremely untimely fix to a serious safety recall.
I am still waiting for my passenger side airbag to be replaced.is takada/toyota ever going to be required to replace it?my car is 2007 with only 85,000 miles on it and i want to keep it.when will the airbags be replaced?

Takata recall. When i called to schedule (in the middle of this hot humid summer). I was told they had to order parts and it will take "months" before they can schedule me. They said they get 6 parts per dealer per week and that's it.
Takata recall
I appreciate that toyota younger fixed the airbag recall. I would have appreciate if they would have wiped down the dash board after installing. I also noticed the panel over the airbag has a buckle/crease and it does not look secure around the edges. I have attached images . It never looked like before a dropped off my car.

I have received a mailer from toyota telling me to "call today" to 1-888-312-5994, for resolution to the takata airbag inflator recall.i have called numerous times but experience extremely long hold times, to the point where i eventually decide to try again sometime.this is very frustrating, as it does not seem that toyota is committed enough to employ even basic staffing to help me set up an appointment to resolve the issue.i will keep trying.

Numerous times while driving, regardless of speed (sometimes on the highway at 75 mph, others when pulling out from a stop to cross a busy intersection), the vehicle seizes and i lose control of all acceleration and braking mechanisms, while the engine revs and the car slows to almost total stop, with my only hope of swerving into a ditch to avoid being rear ended by the cars and massive mac trucks behind my vehicle, impossible to avoid colliding on the narrow steep rural roads. In the course of one mile, today specifically, the vehicle convulsed and seized four separate occasions, where i could only turn my blinker on and hope people could go around me. I long considered this issue related to slippery road conditions, because that's what it feels like, though experiencing the terror of losing complete control on a hot sunny, dry day last summer put the severity of this issue into perspective- the driver needs to be in control of the vehicle and the full operator of every function to prevent the vehicle from becoming a deadly weapon. This vehicle inhibits my ability to prevent harm. In trying to diagnose this issue, i have spent tens of thousands of dollars, and the vehicle still remains unsafe. On 4/9/18, i spent $2,065.29 to replace wheel bearings for the second time in under a year and a half, as well as serviced the emergency break, purchased new tires yet again, and rebuilt the entire transmission. Back on 11/20/17, the vehicle received brand new lf wheel bearing and brand new spark plugs for $535.29 to cure the power issue, to no avail. Only 8 months earlier on 3/30/17, i spent in excess of $1200 to service the struts, shocks, rear brakes, break pads, rodars, brake callipers, and rear emergency break, and still the issue persisted. The engine, wheels, and brakes of this 2007 toyota matrix continue to impede my ability to keep the people on the road safe.

I was driving about 70mph along the beeline highway outside of phoenix az and negotiating a gentle curve in the road. It was about 1:30pm on a clear day. I felt a strong lurch (thought i had been hit from behind although i knew there were no cars around me) almost immediately i attempted to straighten the wheel and found myself unable to turn the steering wheel. The car mounted the median road divider, came down, spun 360 degrees and gently drifted to the side of the road. I was not injured but the car was totaled. I looked on line after the accident and did find some accounts of this kind of frozen wheel scenario with the lurch that i felt but also at much lower speeds. As i understand you keep statistics on vehicle malfunctions i feel it important to report this unusual accident to your agency.
Plastic door handles break off.this poses danger to rescue personnel who may need to safely and quick remove car occupants.
My four exterior door handles are made up of cheap plastic and they have disintegrated.it is very dangerous to operate this vehicle since getting in and out of this vehicle is not easy.i can only access the vehicle through the driver's door.all the other handles have broken off completely.when you use this vehicle in an urban, traffic congested situation, entering this car becomes very dangerous.if this vehicle was ever involved in a car accident, it would not be possible to just open the car doors to rescue passengers since the door are inoperable.

I was driving home on a 2 lane city street a few weeks ago when i heard a loud crash/explosion of some kind on what seemed to be the top of my car, when i had gotten home i saw the sunroof had completely smashed as if something had fallen on top of it, but i and the guy who replaced the sunroof found no rocks or any point of impact on the sunroof, so it had appeared to crack spontaneously. We had been having icy weather the week prior but it had been cold enough for a while that a sudden temperature change couldn't have been what caused it. No glass fell into the vehicle because the inner lining of the roof had been pulled shut, but it cost $700 to replace it and we had to drive to omaha, 60 miles away from where i am, to get it replaced.
The problem is not specific to this car.the tire speed rating system in use today is long overdue for upgrading.problem 1 is the confusion that exists between y and (y).online tire dealers often blur the two categories.problem 2 is the actual speed rating of (y) -- it is unknown but higher than 186. Problem 3 is that tires in the upper ranges are not separated.if you buy tires for a 2004 ford gt, they must be good for up to 215 mph, but 270 mph is not necessary.there are many tires that are good for 215 but not 270 mph.the current system does not tell consumers which tire is safe!i propose a new metric-based system.the following speed ratings would assigned to each tire: speed rating 15 (150 km/h) 20 (200 km/h) 25 (250 km/h) 30 (300 km/h) 35 (350 km/h) 40 (400 km/h) 45 (450 km/h) 50 (500 km/h)
