Toyota camry 2015 leon dec 21,2015 i arrived at my job and put the car in parking the car accelerated itself and went forward and hit a tree with the impact of the tree it put itself in reverse and accelerated itself right into office building right behind me--i came out of the car and one of my co-workers told me to turn of the engine.
Frequently, the indicator for the passenger air bag says "off", even when someone is sitting in the seat. Occasionally it says "on" when there is no one in the seat.
Traveling on sth 13 in iowa.dog ran in front of me and i could not avoid him.all 11 air bags deployed.car was immobilized in the middle of the road blocking one lane and partially the second. Doors could not be opened and car could not be moved.we were near a mini mart and two gentlemen ran down and opened the drivers door from the outside.he then used his knife to puncture the air bag my sideand cut it off so i could get out.we then went to the passenger side and opened the door for my wife.she was able to slide under the air bag once the door was opened.i then got back in the car and people who had stopped managed to push the car off the road.air bags did not deflate even after several hours, contact with dog did minor damage to the car. Grill was loose and front bumper skin needed to be replaced.air bag costs were over $20,000.car was totaled by insurance company...my wife was hit in the face with an air bag causing a split lip and a damaged eye.we visited the emergency room and no further treatment was required...when the air bags deployed all vision from the car was blocked.only the two front air bags deflated, all other air bags stayed inflated for hours. After the minor accident we were left sitting in the middle of a state highway unable to see anything and unable to get out.i would compare it to being blindfolded and left standing in the middle of a busy highway,we were terrified. I feel that the activation of the air bags in the case of minor collision is very dangerous,we have hit animals harder in the past and continued on with our journey.in addition the fact that the air bags did not deflate and left us unable to exit the car is an unacceptable hazard.if people had not been on the scene we could have been left in the middle of the road for hours, unable to see anything....updated 12/16/15 updated 10/3/2017

While pulling into my driveway at approximately 0-5 mph i put my foot on the brake pedal to park in front of my garage door/brick wall and i was unable to stop.the pedal went directly to the floor and the car accelerated forward into the brick wall.after hitting the brick wall, the car bounced back off the wall a few inches.all airbags deployed and i became hysterical.the fumes from the air bags were throughout the car.i was screaming and crying at the same time.i was able to put the car into park and found my cell phone on the floor which fell from my purse and called 911.i was unable to reach the door handle to get out of the car.i was able to open the sun roof and started screaming for help.after a few minutes my neighbor came running and opened the driver's door from the outside and i slid outunder the airbag and dropped to the cement on my behind. *dt
In 2015, the toyota camry se suddenly did not start, so i thought it was a battery problem and changed it, but the same problem occurred and it was sent to the repair shop for inspection and the starting fuse disappeared. Then, before the problem occurred, the right door glass open sweetie did not work among the switches on the driver side.
Touch screen radio burned as soonest i turned on the car, a lot of smoke came out from the radio and heavy burn cable smell.
Whole electrical board went out. This is a known issue with these cars and toyota refuses to help fix it.
At 10 a.m. On a bright sunny morning, my wife and grown daughter got into my car to go to breakfast, i turned the key to start the car, and turned on the air conditioner.the air was hot, not cool, i looked through the steering wheel to the dash and there was a yellow warning lite that read "checkcharging system " .i put the gear lever into "d" and the car did not move but the engine reved up, i then put it into "r" and the same thingoccurred, the car engine reved up but would not move.i then turned the engine off, then started it up again and this time it started normallywith a/c putting out cold air and the auto moving when transmission was in gear.i took it to the dealer and they performed a quality inspection and could not find the problem.they ask me to report back to them should it happen again, with the time, temperature, rain or cloudy day , ect..it has been about 6 days and so far it has not happened again.

When accelerating from a complete stopor when slowing down to make a left turn, it hesitates as if the car has stalled when stepping on the gas pedal to go. It will go about 5 -10 feet just enough to get you out there into traffic and then nose dives because it loses all forward power, steady pressure on gas pedal and milking gas pedal does not make it resume any faster. So far it has lasted 30 to 45 seconds and then resumes. The rpms stay at about 1 (idle) and the eco light flashes randomly but car does not stall so far just loses forward motion and wont accelerate out of the way of traffic oncoming and behind you. This has happened 9-10 time oct 2016-dec 2016
The contact owns a 2015 toyota camry. On several occasions, when depressing the start button, the vehicle would not start and all the warning indicators illuminated. Same thing happened about 10 times and when i finally went back home because i was afraid to go further, i could smell gas when i exited my vehicle.each time it stalled, i had to restart in order to go again, very scarry and everyone beeping at me doesnt help.
Speedometer disagrees with digital speed readout in driver information center.speedometer reads approximately 2 mph higher than digital speedometer in driver information center.
The "smart key" ignition system sometimes fails to work, at irregular intervals.dealer service people say the way to correct the failure is to open and close the driver's door.the system then reboots and usually works ok thereafter -- usually.today the car was parked, she entered, and the key fob failed to work.she had to open and close the driver's door 4 times before it did work.this is a safety problem when she is frequently the last person out of the lot at work, and she must open and close her door before the car will start and the phone blue-tooth will work.the dealer pleads ignorance even though his service people are familiar with this.car is parked in modern garage or outdoors.
Car caught fire in driveway. Causing massive damage in the trunk where battery and hybrid system is all the way up to the full engine compartment. 2am...spontaneous massive electrical fire. Car had been parked for 7 hours.not hot.in driveway.not confined in any way.
I was driving my vehicle and suddenly i completely loss power steering control. I nearly crashed! my steering became very difficult to manage while it made an awful "grinding" noise when i attempted to steer the vehicle. I was driving on los angeles avenue (118 hwy) in moorpark, ca. I do not recall if i was turning; but i recall i was at a stop light, then took off and suddenly loss power steering. I googled this issue and noticed that there was a recall for my exact problem and make/model/year of my car (2015 toyota camry se 2.5l at). I called the dealership and they are claiming there is no recall and won't honor my information. The exact recall # = 15v144000. Please help, i am scared to drive my car and don't have over $2000+ to fix according to simi valley toyota dealership. [xxx]. Thank you in advance for all your support!information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *cc
My electronic control unit went out in three years ...not able to program anything or listen to radio. I understand that toyota had a manufactureproblem with models from 2014 and 2015.... Which my car falls in there. They are not acknowledging this problem and said they dont have a recall.however toyota did send out notification to mechanics telling them there was issues with these ecus . Stanionary
Bought with 22k miles about 1 1/2 years ago. The cruise control speed and the speedometer issues have always been present. When using cruise control (under 45 suburban and urban streets) the car sometimes cannot regulate on slight inclines and speeds up by up to 5 mph over setting and doesn't decelerate. Several times it's done it on flat roads. It's never done this on the freeway even coming up slopes. It's rare that my digital speed reading is the same as my set cruise control speed.my digital speed reading also usually differs from my speedometer by about 2-4 mph also, sometime last summer an issue with my brakes has been occurring and is becoming more frequent. When first starting my car (i notice it on damp or dewy mornings) i can hear my brakes as i'm backing down my slightly sloped, cement driveway. I put my car in reverse and barely tap the gas because i go very slowly because we have a short driveway (35-40ft total) and a little lip at the entrance where the driveway meets our culdesac. It's not every morning and i've never noticed it any other times.sounds like when brake pads are wearing down and feels almost spongy when pressing brake pedal. No squealing or chirping. Ive had my brakes checked twice and they're in good shape. *current mileage is approx 42k
Collision avoidance system has failed on two occasions, may 10 (17419 miles) and june 21, 2016 (19185 miles). In both instances it was while being driven on 2-lane highways at highway speeds. Both times it was taken to my dealer where the repair was to simply recalibrate the system.
The car has stalled three times, twice on the highway, once losing power steering. Twice accelerating at 5 and 50 mph and once idling at 30 mph. Battery and charging system errors on dash. Each time, pulling over, going to park, and restarting works. Crank position sensor was replaced after second stall based on engine code p0339.
I purchased this car in 2017, after about 6 months or more i noticed a knocking noise when i turned into my driveway or made a right turn. I took it to vandergriff toyota and after taking it back a few times, one of the technician heard the knocking sound and said it was the sunroof, i hadn't opened the sunroof since the guy at vandergriff honda sold me the car. I called the toyota customer service number, informed the young man i had googled sunroof recall and saw that it included 2014 and some 2015 toyota camry's, i gave him my vin number and he said this particular car vin number was not listed and there was nothing they could do for me.i asked to speake to his supervisor,he put me on hold, came back and stated again there nothing toyota can do. I don't have $2500 dollars or more to fix a factory defect and would think toyota would step up and do the right thing. I bought the car in january2017, and the problem began around june 2017. I hope you can find that recall and fix my car.
While driving on interstate headlights would automatically cut off , fuses keep blowing, gear shift locks up, and steering wheel locks up while driving
My car was driving and my lights went crazy and wheels locked up i changed battery changed alternator and something still draining battery and it's the ecu for my power steering
The contact owns a 2015 toyota camry. The contact stated that while driving over a curb at 5 mph, the vehicle spun out of control as the brakes not working warning message displayed. In addition, contact stated that the vehicle attempted to park itself independently and crashed into a tree. The air bags failed to deploy. A police report was filed. The contact sustained a fractured thumb and bruises and the front seat passenger sustained body bruising that required medical attention. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 12,000.
When driving to work on the freeway the car deployed by its self and would not stop the steering wheel is so loose and i have no controll
When you are driving down the road, sometimes the car would either veer to the left or the right and you can't control the steering wheel. You have to stop the car turn the car off and then turn it back on and then start driving again. Sometimes it will also accelerate on its own or not accelerate on its own even if you are controlling the gas pedal the car does what it wants. This is very scary because one time we almost hit a curb with the tires because you couldn't control the car it was going where i wanted to. The tires were out extremely fast i never have to pay for new tires because they wear out way before the warranty there like bald with in like a couple months sometimes even to just two months and they're bald and the alignment spine i've had it checked. I change all the fluids on time and taking care of maintaining the car i don't understand why it's doing this can you please figure it out?
I'd like to file a complaint with my 2015 toyota camry xle. I don't feel like the shifter is very safe in this model. I had a nerve racking incident the other day while my kids and their cousins were in the car. I was parallel parking on an incline. I tried to put the car into drive and my car rolled back. I thought, wow, this must be quite an incline. I checked to make sure i was in gear, but nothing was visible on my gear shift or on the dash digitally. I put one foot on the break and one on the gas to ease into what was hopefully still drive, and the car rolled back after i took my foot off of the break. I paused for a little bit, getting really nervous because now i am so close to the car behind me. I told the boys that something is wrong with my car and it won't go into gear.i tried to 'gun it' and my car rolled back or reversed and hit the bumper of the car behind me. I put the car in park and e-brake, and asked the 11 year old to check which gear the car was in, if he could differentiate the color indicator and he said no. But wait, if you cup your hand around it, he could see the 'p' for park. In experimenting now, if the sun is really glaring, you can't see the indicators of the gear, the car dash digitally only shows the gears for about a second, which would be helpful to keep in view on the dash when in any other gear than drive. I was pretty sure i was in drive that day, yet the engine sounded like it was in neutral. I feel like i don't trust driving in my car any more as i was pretty shaken up and frustrated. Needless to say, there is a nail hole in my rear bumper from the ladies front license plate i hit. Fortunately she was really nice and did not press charges.i'm also fortunate that no one was injured.
Car caught fire in driveway. Causing massive damage in the trunk where battery and hybrid system is all the way up to the full engine compartment. 2am...spontaneous massive electrical fire. Car had been parked for 7 hours.not hot.in driveway.not confined in any way.
V6 engine stumbled upon accelleration in traffic.i was going about 35 mph and started to change lanes and speed up to the 50 mph speed limit on the 4 lane city highway.as i sped up the car felt like the engine had been turned off.this lasted about 3 seconds then sped up normally.we had just driven 50 miles at 70 mph speeds and had spent 2 hours having lunch with friends.car was parked in 80 degree sun during the meal.this"stumble"has happened two times previously and one complaint form completed (# 10896696).
Clapping or tapping noise sounds like lifter or valve making noise at certain times. If you turn the engine off and turn the engine back on it will make the noise even press the gas pedal it gets a louder clapping. I get my every oil change at 5,000 miles. My vehicle shouldn't be making this noise.
Excessive use of oil. In about 5000 miles the engine is almost empty. Inspected at the toyota dealer no leaks found.
The last time that i took my oil in to be changed, i was told that i was 3 quarts low and to check it every week as this year and model have been having issues with the oil burning up. I am just about due to take my car in again for another oil change and i have already had to add 2 quarts of oil in between changes. I have less than 50,000 miles on my car,
The contact owns a 2015 toyota camry. The contact stated that after completing an oil change on the vehicle, a month later the vehicle was low on oil. The contact continued to put more oil in the vehicle however, the oil level was still low in the vehicle. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact drove the vehicle to the local dealer oak lawn toyota (4320 95th st, oak lawn, il 60453) to be diagnosed. The failure for the oil consumption was not provided. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 120,000.
The contact owned a 2015 toyota camry. While driving approximately 25, a strong burning odor of plastic emitted inside the vehicle and small flames ignited underneath the hood. The vehicle was maneuvered to a safe location. The flames became progressively worse and the front end of the vehicle became engulfed in large flames. The fire department extinguished the fire. A police and fire report were both filed. There were no personal injuries. The vehicle was destroyed and towed to the dealer. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 5,626. The vin was unavailable.
Sitting in heavy traffic, i released the brake and began to move forward. The vehicle accelerated on its own and struck the vehicle in front of me. My vehicle sustained major front-end damage.

I grew up on a farm and have worked on many machines over the years. I have owned cars, trucks, motorcycles and a boat. I understand how vehicles are designed to work. My car is a 2015 toyota camry se, 2.5l 4 cylinder engine. The safety issue i am having with this car began somewhere around 20,000 miles and about 2 years ago, when attempting to pull into to traffic, and while pressing the gas pedal there was a noticeable lose of power. The throttle did not respond for 3-5 seconds and downward trend in rpms. The next time i had the car at the dealer for service i reported this. The service tech reported there were no codes and the issue could not be recreated. Now this same thing has happened 10-12 times at usually at between 2000-3000 rpms. It has happened turning into traffic, attempting to change lanes and just having the car a head move forward and attempt to accelerate to move forward as well to close the distance. This situation has been very intermittent, occurs while in motion and usually between 40-60 mph, and sometimes not occurring for months at a time. I filed a complaint with toyota corp at the advice of the service manager at the deal ship. I have been dismissed by the case managers at toyota, shuffled off to new case managers and always told that the issue could not be addressed until it could be recreated. I should stop everything and return the car to the dealer after each instance. Finally, the car was left for a week and the issues occurred while technician was driving it. I was told the issue had been resolved. Then it happened again. I called the case manager and was told that the problem had to be recreated again.toyota would rather have a driver on the road in an unsafe vehicle then resolve this issue. Now the car sits in the driveway, mostly unused. The dealer will not give decent trade value because of this issue.
The contact owns a 2015 toyota camry. The contact stated that while driving there was a bad chemical smell that came from the vents into cab of the vehicle. The dealer glen toyota19 pollitt dr ste 01, fair lawn, nj 07410 (855) 532-7352 said they could not smell the odor. The contact investigated online and found out there was a class action lawsuit for the issue. There was a defective heating and air condition smell from a mold buildup on the evaporation. This emitted foul odors throughout the vehicle. The manufacturer gave the contact a case number and said to callback when she returned to her permanent address in another state. The failure mileage was 8,000.
The contact owns a 2015 toyota camry. When the brake pedal was depressed, the engine rpms rapidly increased independently. The dealer was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 2,000.
In previous years the engine equipped on this vehicle has experienced oil consumption problems due to the wear on the oil scrapper ring. My current toyota camry is in the beginning stages of burning oil. The current mileage of the car is 58k miles.
V6 engine stumbled upon accelleration in traffic.was going less than 30 mph in heavy traffic, changed lanes to go faster but felt like engine had been turned off for 2 to 3 seconds, then it accellerated normally.outside temp was in 80's, gas tank half full, no warning lights appeared.about 2 miles previous to this we were sitting idling in a construction zone with a/c on.no further episodes to date.shortly after i bought the car i had a similar episode, but wasn't sure as it wasn't so noticible.took car to dealer but no error codes present, will check farther this friday when expert tech is there.unknown which component caused this.

I was trying to pass a line of cars, and the car hesitated, for about 4 minutes, and i almost was hit by traffic coming from behind and would have been hit between the drivers door and passenger door, if the person coming had not been paying attention and managed to go around me. It has happened 3 other times. On a highway
Oil leak from back of engine. Oil leak detection w/dye during oil change.
After my 25,000 mile maintenance check i began noticing a foul odor upon entering the car. Oddly enough, this odor is most pronounced when the car has been sitting for a few hours. While the car is running and the fans are blowing, the smell reduces in strength.however, anytime the car is off, the cabin fills once again with this horrible foul odor.to describe the smell i would say that it's similar to a gym locker room mixed with garbage.this is extremely disappointing as my car is under 2 years old and it is solely used for commuting. Food is not consumed in this vehicle and only water is drank. The fact that the smell disappears when driving with the fans on leads me to believe that there is not a dead animal present in the chassis. This seems like a mechanical issue.
The contact owns a 2015 toyota camry. While the contact was changing his tire, he noticed that the handle for the jack was too short. The contact attempted removing the lug nuts to replace the tire, but was unable to reach them due to the short handle. South coast toyota (1966 harbor blvd, costa mesa, ca 92627, (949) 722-2000) was contacted and stated that the jackthat came with the vehicle had to be discussed with the toyota manufacturer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and did not assist. The contact mentioned that he would need an extension tool to use the jack properly. The failure mileage was approximately 45,296.
The contact owns a 2015 toyota camry. While drivingapproximately 30 mph, the contact approached an intersection and did not see the stop sign. The contact went back to verify why he missed the stop sign and realized the low beam projector headlights only illuminated the immediate area in front of the vehicle. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The contact was advised by the manufacturer that the low beam headlights were designed to illuminate in that manner. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 1,200.
While driving on interstate headlights would automatically cut off , fuses keep blowing, gear shift locks up, and steering wheel locks up while driving
Headlight switch set on auto, some times headlights don't come on at night but dash lights do.find i'm driving with daylight running lights at night.thought , at first, that it was my eyesight but when i started car 2-3 hours later i had bright lights.car said "cancelled" once before this happened but didn't say what was cancelled. Was driving on city streets.
During aug 2016i went to get some lunch and when i turned off the parking ramp the car was fine.once i entered on to the fwy and approached the speed of 50 my steering wheel froze and would not turn either way.i could not slow down on the fwy for fear of being hit, so i just stayed in my lane and begin to exit coming to a complete stop in the middle of the street because i could not turn the wheel once i came to a stop i had help getting the car to my house and called aaa to tow the car to a repair shop by my job and found out the power steering unit just stopped.he said he had never seen that.i also had to replace the racknpenion.the light where you shift gears went out, so can't see at night what gear i'm in. Drive or reverse.
On harder acceleration (such as pulling into busy traffic or on a highway/interstate when acceleration is key to safety) engine rpm at around 3000 rpm the engine loses power/car stalls but doesn't cut out until the gas pedal is let off and pressed again sometimes multiple times. No codes or dash warning lights. Dealership advised that the fuel pump was checked. Fuel pump was weak with low fuel psi. Replaced fuel pump. No problems now. With new toyota recall on fuel pumps, maybe it should be expanded.
Can goes out of control
The first time it happened was july 2017. I was in the city slowed down and got in way of on coming traffic turn left onto another streetthe car just stalled and sat there. No power at all.i tried pressing the gas, nothing, after several seconds it finally moved across with moments to spare. This has happened several times. It has come to the point where i don't move across to turn unless there is absolutely no traffic.this loss of power seems to be getting worse where i now get this same problem when just driving down a street.the first time i took it to toyota i told them i wanted to have a diagnostic test, all they did was took it for a test drive and found nothing wrong with it.the next time i made and appointment to get it serviced i asked them again.this time they completely ignored me and did nothing at all. There is a notation that i wanted it checked for the loss of power but nothing was notated as being done.this is getting so dangerous, i hate to drive it.the car has just under 22000 miles.
Acceleration hesitation, numerous instances.advancing from a stop or at low speed, the camry hesitates to accelerate for 2-10 seconds. On june 2, 2017 i had driven 5 blocks, stopped at a stop sign, then advanced to enter 35-40 mph highway traffic. The car achieved about 8 mph, then would not accelerate for over 5 seconds while traffic is coming at me. Very dangerous!i have a dealer appointment on 06june2017 to have this looked at again. They have tried diagnosing this two previous times and could find nothing. They said the transmission 'learns' from the driver, so they erased the learning to start afresh. This did not cure the problem. The hesitation is infrequent, but very dangerous. No regular pattern to it. Can occur when starting a drive, or whenthoroughly warmed up.
Vehicle hesitation when accelerator pedal is pushed :when starting from zero speed or accelerating at cruising speed the car often hesitates more often then not this is a road hazord and worse yet for me the vehicle never drives the same.it is really frustrating knowing the money i spent and the money i will loose on trade due to a vehicles performance that is documented all over the internet and nothing is being done to fix the issue. My experience is it has no bearing on vehicle speed when the problem occurs its randomand difficult toto predict for me its the worst during rush hour on the freeway i don't know if i should look forward or behind to see which car could become victom of the acceleration or hesitation.
Very difficult to fill up the gas tank, cuts off every second and as it cuts off splashes gasoline. Not only it is difficult to use the car, it is dangerous. I noticed the flap or the cover to gas cap area not sealed well and when driving so much dust sucks in and accumulate on and around the gas cap area. Every two three months i kept cleaning and vacuuming the gas cap area. The problem started gradually and eventually became impossible to fill up the tank, constantly cutting off and splashing gasoline.
Engine shuts off when i slow down and stop the car.
I was driving my 2015 with 61000 miles on it when it just lost power on the highway. I was able to pull off on a back road. I was told it was the throttle body and is very rare for it to go outespecially with a car with only 61000.
Fuel gauge read empty upon startup after 36 hours engine off.actual fuel level 3/4 full.gauge read accurately after 4 mile drive and restart.
2015 toyota camry sethe vehicle shudders when l accelerate between 20-25 mph and 40-50mph. Lt appears quickly and go away when you accelerate over stated mph. My has about 95,000 miles on it. Have took the car to several shops, was told its the torque converter. There was software update and recall on 12-14 camry on this same issue, thought toyota would have fix this issue before the rolled out 2015s. Toyota needs a software update and recall on the 2015 camry for anyone having this issues.
Speedometer disagrees with digital speed readout in driver information center.speedometer reads approximately 2 mph higher than digital speedometer in driver information center.
I keep having trouble with my cv axle. It has been replaced 3 times now and the last time was with toyota. I am still hearing a clicking sound when turning.
My car started a having a vibration/shudder while being driven on the street and freeway from speeds of 25mph to 50mph. This happens every timewhile driving straight and on turns . I thought maybe it was the transmission but after i looked online to see if anyone else has had this issue i learned there are a lot of people with the same problem. I have the same exact symptoms as they do. Its seems to be the torque converter. I looked up the history of this torque problemand it goes back as faras 2011 for toyota camry.i need this fix by toyota and toyota should honor given that the issue was notfix from the previous year model.
As i am driving at any spend my car shifts on it's own to 2nd gear! the shifter is still in "d". I am not touching anything. It doesn't matter if i am on a highway or my street it has shifted many of times in fast and slow speeds. I have over 30 videos of this problem. I have 3 children and feel unsafe driving this car . It was the showroom floor car and only had 13 miles at purchase.
I previouslymade a complaint about my 2015 toyota camry. I attached a copy of my complaint to this complaint. I am now experiencing loss of power while i drive from the torque converter shudder issue i am having. Car is shaking rather than a vibration now between speed of 40mph to 50mph. This is unsafe
Is making a noise on passenger side and the steering is funny
2015 camry has experienced exactly the same torque converter shudder issues described in the 2012-2014 models that were covered under a recall. This year is not covered because toyota has said they fixed the issue on this year. Started out with shudder around 25-30mph, now it's also happening around 35-45mph, vehicle will also rev out in gear giving no acceleration. Now this car is barely even drivable. The transmission is shifting up to the highest gears even when speed is very low, as though you were driving a manual transmission vehicle at 15mph in fifth gear. The only temporary solutions that helped and now no longer will, were punching the throttle during a shudder to downshift, or downshifting in the manual mode. Unhooking the battery to drain the system power to put the vehicle back into learning mode, which helped for several hours until the vehicle went right back to the same issues. Currently the vehicle limps around with any type of driving, shifts to gears that are too high for the appropriate speed with dangerously sluggish acceleration or none at all, and shudders in two speed ranges.
When driving the car and accelerating, notice a slight shudder. When the torque converter is locked, the shutter goes away. It does this when accelerating frequently. When i fell the shudder, if i increase acceleration, the shudder stops. I suspect the problem is with the torque converter.
2012-2014 model year camry vehicles software update for u760e torque converter shuddertoyota had updated software for torque converter shudder for year from 2012-2014 but i own 2015 camry and i have same problem with my camry year 2015 car is shakey and toyota dealer refused to update software for year 2015 unless pay them $250.00 and due to reason effected transmission on 2 to 3 gear shift it hesitate atspeed below 20 mph takes brief 4 to 5 seconds to shift gear.toyota should owner recall on camrys after year 2014 as well
Torque converter shudders around 40-45 mph it gets worse and i have to let off the gas or speed up for it to stop, not safe in heavy traffic!!brake type squeak that will not stop even after new rotors and brake pads.
I have complained at every oil change about how our car will roll backward while in gear on a small incline making it dangerous for roll back collision when removing foot from brake to place it on accelerator. This has happened consistently since purchase
Car was parked in driveway, started to pull in garage, whenthrottle opened wide open, i quickly applied the brakes, shifted into reverse or park, car ran into garage wall before i could stop it.abs braked system worked and i heard clicking from brakes. Damage to car est. $3,000.
Purchased a used 2015 camry se shortly after purchasing the vehicle the drivability has been becoming a escalating concern. While accelerating when the car will shudder between 1000 & 2000 rpm mostly between 25-45 mph. Have tried the relearn process 3x then when that has proven not to work (shudder starts to happen minutes after relearn). Took the vehicle in to the dealership for a diagnosis which cost $160. Diagnosed with a bad torque converter. Repair estimates $2450. 46. Major safety concerns because of the loss of power while driving and the erratic shifting of gears
The transmission began to give problems i took it to the toyota and they did not find any problem the car continues to give transmission problems it slips when it changes
The car has 32k miles on it. When the speed reaches around 32 there's a shudder/vibration which is accompanied by rpm drop before shifting to next gear. When trying to maintain the speed around 42/43 (inner roads), 62/65 (freeways) torque convertor locks up accompanied by lower rpm and the shudder/vibration begins which is clearly felt on gas pedals, steering wheels and doors and feel like driving on bumpy road, the only way to get out of the vibration is to either give more power/acceleration so that it releases lock up and shifts gears (or) just release the gas pedal so that it slows down and comes out of lock-up. When vibration happens, giving power/pressing accelerator will increase the vibration with no increase in speed until it shifts to other gears, checked with a couple of dealers to get an opinion but the answer i am getting is there is no code in the health check and they cannot do anything without any code or check engine light. One technician admitted that its torque convertor lockup vibration. They will not diagnose or perform any other operations without any code or its completely broken. Torque converter replacement will cost around 3k based on dealer info. Based on toyota's internet forums and other complaints in this seems to be a common problem with torque convertor and toyota should come forward to replace it or fix it similar to their 2014/2014.5 models, which are supposed to be fixed with the 2015 models. Thanks
The contact owns a 2015 toyota camry. The contact stated that while driving at approximate 55 mph, the vehicle was making a vibrating motion. The failure recurred numerous times. The vehicle was taken to a dealer for diagnostic testing where it was determined that the front driver side tire needed to be replaced. The failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where the dry shaft and the transmission were replaced but the failure recurred. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 7.
When i accelerate to about 40 mph there is shudder and rough ride like running over rough road. The car has 79,500 miles on it. The toyota dealer says the problem is the torque converter. I have seen other reports of the problem on the internet.one person indicated it might need a software update but that is the only report like that i have seen. The dealer, team toyota of princeton says it will be a $2,880 repair. Based on additional internet reports this seems to be a common problem.

When i accelerate 40 mph or higher, my car gives me a sudden shudder in the vehicle. It feels like running over a rough spot in the road or like a rumble before you reach a toll booth. As quickly as it appears, it is gone, until the next time it appears. My car has about 95,000 miles on it currently and i have taken to several shops and they all say that, torque converter is making that shudder which is related to transmission and might cost me around $2000 to fix. If anyone face the same issue, please make a report so that nhtsa can look into it.
In previous years the engine equipped on this vehicle has experienced oil consumption problems due to the wear on the oil scrapper ring. My current toyota camry is in the beginning stages of burning oil. The current mileage of the car is 58k miles.
I have a 2015 toyota camry le and there is something wrong with the brake and transmission. On august 13th 2016, i was backing out of a parking spot but instead of going backwards, my car moved forward. I tried to press down on the brake to stop the car but the brake did not work. These two abnormal mechanical malfunctions could cause to death or serious injuries. I was so scared to drive my car so i called the dealer's service department to inform them of this problem. They advised me to call roadside assistance to tow my car to their service department. Toyota only did a quick inspection and test drove the car. After, they said the car is in normal condition and the service advisor told me that i can take my car back to service when the problem still exists. This is ridiculous because if the transmission or brake system fails to operate properly while i am driving on the freeway or on a busy street, i would be dead or have serious injuries. I would never have the chance to take my car to their service department. Toyota never admits that their cars have defects or fix their cars. They will only be concerned about their cars after a fatal crash happens. Toyota did not guarantee that the transmission and brake will work properly after a certain time period or mileage reached. A fatal accident could happen to me or other people on the road any minute and i do not want bear any legal liability to the accident. I do not feel safe to drive my car and would like to file a complaint in case a life threatening accident happens to me and my family. Please help me. Thank you.
Just got the car with 30000 miles on it. Like a week ago started noticing the transmission shifting gears too fast. I'm going 30mph and it's in 4th gear! it wasn't doing this when i first got it. Tried to pass someone up on highway it took 2 seconds for the rpm to kick in almost got ran off the road by another vehicle. From a stoplight it will hesitate for 1 or 2 seconds then take off. This is really dangerous if someone has to make a quick turn during traffic. This is an accident waiting to happen. Please fix it so i can enjoy my new car.
Car will not accelerate in the middle of the road as it should, transmission will shudder and can't apply full power between 20 /50 milers per hour to the wheels

I was driving home on friday august 18th at about 35 mph. On a straight roadi suddenly lost my steering. When i got out to look at it the right from wheel was turned 90 degrees to the right. When looking at it it looks like the right front axel broke or tie rods or whatever is under there. When the colchester police came they did not file an accident report since it was their belief that something on the car had broken. The officer told me i was lucky to only be going 35 and not on the interstate doing 65. When the wrecker came he said he had never seen anything like this on a camry. I did not hit a pothole or curb or anything else. Now toyota (heritage toyota, south burlington vt. Is not convinced that it was a defect. They are waiting for their regional office to make a determination.just talked to heritage toyota and they said it was not a defect. However they did not say what was wrong with it. They are acting like this is an every day occurrence. I just want to make you aware of this in case anyone else had the same issue.
My car was driving and my lights went crazy and wheels locked up i changed battery changed alternator and something still draining battery and it's the ecu for my power steering
I was fueling up my car, and upon me turning the key to start up my automobile, it didn't respond. I noticed the symbol on the dashboard that had a circle with a triangle drawn downward with a circular item at the top of the triangle symbol with an exclamation point symbol beside it. I also informed toyota that my seatbelt didn't beep to let me that it wasn't clicked.i then notified my local toyota company to see if i could bring my car in for a inspection. I was told that they didn't have any appointments until the end of the month.
Driver's seatbelt is hard to release when appliedsteering wheel makes a noise when making turns, wether or not vehicle is in motion;like if it needed fluid but checked the steering wheel fluid and level is ok,but still steering wheel makes noise like if something it defected.
After driving the 2015 camry le for approximately a year, i noticed a moldy smell coming from the a/c vents upon start up. I googled and found out a class action suit was filed in 2015 in ca for defective hvac system in 2012 camrys because of mold and smelly odors coming out of a/c vents. It appears toyota is still manufacturing camrys with the same defective hvac part. I had my mechanic do a procedure to clean the mold out and purchased the charcoal air cabin filters. I am keeping records of each time i have the a/c service and filters replaced. I have had allergy tests performed and i am highly allergic to mold and mildew. I live in florida and have never had this issue with a/c in cars ever and i've been driving 40 years.regarding the seats, they are extremely uncomfortable after driving for any extended period of time. I drive 3 to 4 hours a day for work mon-fri and i have had to purchase special gel cushions (costing $135) to make the seat tolerable. I have heard complaints from other camry and lexus owners of the uncomfortable seats, which could lead to health issues. I purchased the 2015 camry 9/28/15 and the current mileage is approximately 38,000 miles.

Brake system makes a loud 'clack' noise when vehicle is moving in reverse and driver apply the service brakes pedal. Toyota dealer stated that this noise is normal. They are not trying to solve the problem. This situation happens every day independently of how many hours or days vehicle being parked. Noise can be reproduced on private garage, public road and or highway. That disgusting noise is always there. Toyota is not taking any action about this... Maybe they are waiting for someone to get hurt or kill due to defective brake system.
Brake warning light stayed lit after starting vehicle. Brakes were not as effective in stopping vehicle. Took vehicle in for service check. Dealer states the brake booster has to be replaced and the ecu needs to be reflashed. Error code c1141. Would not expect the brake booster to have this short of a life.
Collision avoidance system has failed on two occasions, may 10 (17419 miles) and june 21, 2016 (19185 miles). In both instances it was while being driven on 2-lane highways at highway speeds. Both times it was taken to my dealer where the repair was to simply recalibrate the system.
Was driving and slowing down for a light and could feel that car was losing control and breaks did not seem to work properly, then the care stalled and stopped, so turned car off and turned back on again and started. Same thing happened about 10 times and when i finally went back home because i was afraid to go further, i could smell gas when i exited my vehicle.each time it stalled, i had to restart in order to go again, very scarry and everyone beeping at me doesnt help.
The first time the brakes went half way down.a month later, the brakes went all the way to the floor, i almost hit car.i had to keep pushing real hard to make the car stop.
Brake did not hold while at stop light - vehicle was in motion at light
The contact owns a 2015 toyota camry. While approaching a stop with the brake pedal depressed, the brakes failed to stop and the vehicle continued to move. The abs warning indicator illuminated. In order to stop the vehicle, the contact had to engage the emergency brake. The local dealer and manufacturer were not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The vin was unknown. The failure mileage was approximately 25,450.

A police report was not filed. There were no juries. The vehicle was destroyed and towed. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer to be diagnosed. The manufacturer was contacted. The approximate failure mileage was 25,000.
Other day when i came to a stop on the stoplight after 2 seconds my car start rolling so i press a little harder and after 2 seconds it start rolling again so i press harder and after 2 seconds it started rolling so i have to be pressed fully to the bottom for the car to stay in one spot
While driving at approximately 35 mph, i stepped on the brake to stop at a red light. The brake pedal went down to the floor and made a loud grinding sound.the dashboard flashed warning lights "brake" and a 2nd warning of "check brake system".i immediately pulled over and consulted the manual which said stop immediately and contact toyota dealer, which i did.i took the car in to auto nation in weston, fl (i was very close when this happened).by the time i reached the dealer the brake lights went out. They called later and informed me nothing was wrong.i asked them to recheck as i knew something was wrong since the brake did not function properly and made a terrible noise.they kept the car until the following morning to recheck the car, and again said nothing was wrong.they informed me the car didn't know it did anything wrong, my reply was that i knew the car did something wrong. (the service ticket reads: "performed health check, no problem found, no repairs performed")i am very reluctant to drive the car now.
Torque converter shudders around 40-45 mph it gets worse and i have to let off the gas or speed up for it to stop, not safe in heavy traffic!!brake type squeak that will not stop even after new rotors and brake pads.
Thank you.
The autonation toyota cerritos dealership stated that there was a leak between the fire wall and the brake booster.it is requiring the replacement of the brake booster and brake master cylinder after only two years on the roads.the miles on the car are approximately 87,000 miles. But service personnel said she has not seen a problem like this with the 2015 toyota camry.
The contact owns a 2015 toyota camry. The contact stated that while driving at 10 mph, the brake pedal was depressed but the brakes failed to immediately stop the vehicle without warning. The failure occurred twice. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where the failure could not be determined. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 2,800.
My son had difficulty braking when a car in front of him stepped on his brakes to avoid hitting a car in front of him.consequently, my son hit the car in front of him causing bumper damage to that car, a toyota.my son's car was totaled due to the impact.also, the driver and passenger airbags did not deploy.he was driving on interstate 85 at less than the posted speed limit.
*dt
Under 15000 miles under city driving conditions. 2015 se trim.brake light and "check brake system" message appreared on the center console. On the way to the dealership, brakes failed to work and i panicked and pumped more than once. Heard a "thud" noise and lo and behold the brake light and the message disappeared. Dealer confirmed that there was a maintainence code (with the scanner) and that they are replacing "brake booster". Vehicle still under warranty so luckily i dont have to pay anything.how is toyota able to get away without a recall of faulty brakes? how many folks will have to get hurt or die before an action is taken.
The contact owns a 2015 toyota camry. Shortly after pulling into a parking space and depressing the brake pedal, the vehicle suddenly accelerated forward without the accelerator pedal being depressed. The vehicle crashed into a tree and the driver side bumper became slightly loose. The contact stated that the impact was minor and only resulted in a few scratches on the vehicle. A police report was not filed and the vehicle was not towed. There were no injuries. The contact called the spartan toyota dealer who informed the contact that they had never heard of such failure; however, the dealer proceeded to schedule an appointment. The vehicle had not been diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 28,000. ...updated 11/21/17 *as
Three days after we purchased the car, we were backing out of our driveway, brake to stop before pulling into the street and the car wouldn't stop. We heard a clanking noise and it took extraordinary pressure on the brakes to stop the car. We had the car towed to the dealer, who, after inspecting the car and driving it for a day or two could find nothing wrong.this happened a second time approximately 2 weeks later under the same conditions.at that time, the dealer's service manager saw a notice from the corporate office indicating that there was a problem in some 2015 camry's which were manufactured during a certain period of time.the problem involved the "brake booster" which was replaced in our car after the second brake failure.within another week, the same thing happened twice again.we refused to take the car back and toyota bought back the car and refunded the purchase price of the car.
While driving my brake alarm went off and the brake light would not go off. The brakes where hard to press and to stop. I took the car to toyota and found that the "brake boosters" have failed. I was told toyota knows about the issue but not enough cars to do a recall. They only posted a bulletin for them . I can't believe my life was in their hands and was never toldbecause not enough people are having an issue. They replace the part but now i feel unsafe in a new car...
Brake booster - my vehicle has 43,000 for 2015. All services on my vehicle have been with the dealer. Blake fluid is leaking into the brake booster causing the brake maintenance light to com on. The brake booster is normally not a part that should fail so soon.
I was stopped at a light. My car stopped but would creep up until i pressed on the brakes harder. This happened 3 times in a row while i was waiting for the light to change. I looked at my dash and it said something about check brake system. I went straight to the dealership and turned the car off. When they tried to duplicate it they could not. They pulled the information from the computer to find out my brake booster had failed? they are unsure if it will happen again. I looked up on the internet (nhtsa)to see if any other 2015 toyotas had this same problem. It said toyota knows about the issue yet there are not enough of them having the issue to do a recall.this needs to be a recall. This is a safety issue! my car has had all of its required maintenance.
The contact owns a 2015 toyota camry. While driving in the snow, the wheel wells became clogged and caused the vehicle to experience steering failures. Due to the failure, the brakes failed to work. The contact stated that this was a recurring failure during bad weather. The vehicle was driven to a dealer for diagnostic testing. The technician diagnosed that the rear brakes seized and the caliper brackets malfunctioned, causing hot spots on the rear rotors. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 100.
I pulled up to a fast food drive thru and applied my brakes.the brake pedal went to the floor and in desperation i put the vehicle in park only to hear 5-6 loud clicks as i bumped the car in front of me.this was a 1 or 2 mph collision resulting in very little damage to both vehicles.however, this is the third time this has happened to me in this new camry with 7200 miles on it.the first time was when i was backing out of my driveway two months ago.this time the brake pedal went to the floor and i backed over a cement retaining wall in my neighbor's yard.i called a tow truck to pull me out because the rear wheels were hanging in mid air and it was impossible to get enough traction to get my car righted up. The other time was another low speed event at another drive through.no one was in front of me and all was okay . I filed a case with toyota corporate will not pay for towing or rental and the dealership has not returned any of my phone calls
Iwas driving on i35 northbound at set speed limit. Suddenly a motorbike in fornt of me me hit the brakes to avoid collision with a car in fornt of it. I hit my brakes, to the maximum. I slid quiet long distance and came to a final stop. I nearly hit the biker, but i could feel the brakes not being able to slow down the car. A week after this, same thing happened but in a city traffic signal. I was trying to stop in a red light, but again the car slid this time and the car stopped in the middle of intersection. Luckily nobody was in the street, otherwise both of these incidences could have been a fatal accidents.
Brake warning light has come on 6 time since 9/16. Once while driving on freeway, once while backing out of garage, other times when braking hard.
While i was driving on freeway at 65 mph, the brake pedal went down to the floor and made a loud grinding sound. The dashboard flashed warning lights "brake" and a 2nd warning of "check brake system". I immediately pulled over and consulted the manual which said stop immediately and contact toyota dealer, which i did. I took the car in to lipton toyota, sunrise, fl (it was near death experience on the freeway). By the time i reached the dealer the brake lights went out. They called later and informed me nothing was wrong. I asked them to recheck as i knew something was wrong since the brake did not function properly and made a terrible noise. They kept the car until the following morning to recheck the car, and again said nothing was wrong. It happened twice one at 22k and another at 24k miles
The contact owns a 2015 toyota camry. While the vehicle was approaching a stop at an intersection, the brakes failed. The contact depressed the brake pedal excessively, but the vehicle would not stop. As a result, the contact was involved in a side impact collision. A police report was not filed and there were no injuries. The dealer and manufacturer were not contacted. The vehicle was operable after the vehicle was depowered and restarted. The approximate failure mileage was 42,999.
Car pulls either left or right. When making a turn steering wheel does not return. The car just keeps turning.this has happened on very low speeds or speeds of 35 to 45 mph. I believe this is a sensor problem, alternator problem or something involving the tow bar or rack and pinion assembly.
The 2015 toyota camry sporadically pulls hard to one side or the other. This issue seems to be happening at slow to moderate speeds (between 5-50 mph). This just suddenly began to happen. With force the vehicle can be kept in line, but this issue is very dangerous. There was a previous recall on these vehicles for the same problem and that recall needs to be extended. I checked and this vehicles vin is not in the previous recall.
While driving under 30 mph the steering pulls hard to the left, difficult to keep straight and in the lane. Steering felt light and sloppy, like a low tire or steering gear issue, very dangerous. Faster speeds not as bad.towed to dealer, diagnosed as a "low voltage battery". Car started as usual with no warning of indications of a problem and no warning lights came on.there should have been a warning light but it never came on. The manual says it may come on.this is a very dangerous situation when the steering acts up without any other warnings.this is probably a wide spread problem and not isolated to just my car, any toyota with electric power steering.
The contact owns a 2015 toyota camry. The contact stated that the steering wheel seized without warning. The contact stated that the vehicle exhibited the same failure as listed in nhtsa campaign number: 15v144000 (steering). The dealer (precision toyota of tucson, 700 w wetmore rd, tucson, az 85705, 1-(520) 795-5565) and the manufacturer stated that the vehicle was excluded from the recall campaign. The vehicle was not diagnosed and remained parked due to the intermittent failure. The manufacturer was notified and expected the vehicle owner to have the dealer diagnose and repair the vehicle. The vin was not available. The approximate failure mileage was 80,000.
When driving to work on the freeway the car deployed by its self and would not stop the steering wheel is so loose and i have no controll
My 2015 toyota camry se loss power steering and veeredlefton a straight road . The stering was hard to control and had to keep turning right to go staight. This episode could have causeda major accident on a busy 4 lane highway in virginia. Will not drive car until the mechaniclet me know the problem. Nhtsa needs to recall all 2015 camryto fix the electronic boards before fatalities..thank you.
The contact owns a 2015 toyota camry. While driving various speeds, the power steering failed and various lights illuminated on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to a dearler where it was diagnosed that the ecu failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 7,000. The vin was unavailable.
Left my home at 7:55 am this morning to drive to work on city streets. Max speed 55. Arrived at work approx. 7 min later and parked. Left work at 5:30 pm to go home. On the way i noticed the steering wheel was misaligned and the car was pulling to the right at moderate speeds. Max speed 45mph. It seems to roll straight at speeds below 10 mph and pulls at speeds above 10 mph.
At 25-40 mpr the steering unexpectedly veers right or left.when making a turn, steering frequently does not return to normal.on occasion, the steering slowly pulls left or right as if the tire has low inflation.i consider this to be a danger to myself and others.although there are numerous steering complaints regarding the 2015 camry, the dealer said that our vin# is not on a recall list.i would appreciate additional investigation by the nhtsa.
It all started back in june of 2018. My car suddenly started to pull to the left and i initially thought that i have a flat tire, but it was not the case. Here is what happens.when my car is turned on and start moving, the steering wheel pulls to the right or to the left. It pulls mostly to the left and loses accurate control of steering while driving. It doesn't stop pulling until the ignition is turned off and turned back on. Then steering is back to normal. I took my car to a toyota dealership (worldtoyota, 5800 peachtree industrial blvd, atlanta, ga 30341) on july 19, 2018 and reported the problem. The diagnosed the vehicle and didn't find the problem. The problem has been worsening and happens all the time right now.
My 2015 camry pulls to the right at a low speeds (5-35mph) the steering is very sensitive, and when i correct the position and let go of the steering wheel, it goes back to the right.however it does align after i reach a certain speed (40mph>), and the problem seems to disappear until the next morning or when i go somewhere and have to start the car up again.
The contact owns a 2015 toyota camry. While the contact's daughter was driving at unknown speeds, the steering wheel became difficult to turn. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The contact called the local dealer (newbold toyota, 1282 central park dr, o'fallon, il 62269, (618) 628-7000) and was informed that the vehicle was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 15v144000 (steering). The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and provided case number: 1808291305. The failure mileage was 60,000.
Recently we have been experiencing a soft steering response, and the vehicle violently veers to the right (at any speed).weirdly this does not happen all the time but has been sporadic, but more and more frequent. The most recent was on 1/19/21. Surprisingly after the car was turned off, and then on again, the issue disappeared completely. Our biggest fear is if this erratic steering issue were to suddenly start acting up at highway speeds. Our camry was purchased in dec'14, and we have noticed there were a recall for some camrys' of that year. Could our camry batch have similar issues, however the problems not as apparent as those already recalled? please investigate as steering issues seem to be the top problem for the 2015 camry on carproblemzoo.com, and many people are also noting the same defect but their car's vin is not on any recall list. This coincidence seem quite high especially for a year with steering problem recalls, but somehow only covering certain vins.
While in motion, my vehicle suddenly turns to the left.
Is making a noise on passenger side and the steering is funny
The contact owns a 2015 toyota camry. The contact stated while driving 30 mph, the vehicle made an abnormal noise, and the steering became loose which caused the vehicle to pull to the right and left. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact referenced the failure to nhtsa campaign number: 15v144000 (steering). The vehicle was taken to tom wood toyota (6408 crane dr, whitestown, in 46075) where the mechanic was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 45,000.
The contact owns a 2015 toyota camry. While driving various speeds, the steering wheel failed and pulled to the left. The contact had to use force to steer the vehicle. The failure occurred intermittently. The contact pulled the vehicle over and had it towed to toyota of surprise (13543 n autoshow ave, surprise, az 85388, (623) 469-6027). The dealer diagnosed the vehicle, but did not find a failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 37,000.
Twice now, within a few weeks, after pulling into my subdivision street the car has pulled severely to the right but after driving slowly around for a while and stopping and backing up the problem goes away.if the car were to continue to pull so severely to the right it would be unsafe and undrivable.i don't know if there is an intermittant problem with the steering or perhaps a sticking parking brake or sticking brake cylinder.i had a mechanic look it after the first time but he couldn't repeat the problem (but he only drove the car after it had already cleared up).
Noise when steering from standing stop.
The contact owned a 2015 toyota camry. The contact stated that while driving at 75 mph, he experienced sudden power steering failure without warning. Due to the failure, the contact hit a highway guardrail; the air bags did not deploy upon impact.the contact received medical attention at the scene and was transported to the hospital. The contact sustained injuries to his neck, shoulder and head. A police report was filed. Due to the accident, the vehicle was totaled and towed to an independent tow yard. The manufacturer nor the dealer were notified of the accident. The failure mileage was approximately 66,000.
Normal steering while driving at 40 mph, then all of a sudden steering goes soft and veers to the right. Checked air pressure reporting normal.would happen intermittent during the forty minute drive. Thought it was strange.
The contact owns a 2015 toyota camry. The contact stated that while driving, the steering wheel slightly pulled to the left or the right. The contact stated that the failure occurred intermittently. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to germain toyota of naples (13315 tamiami trail n, naples, fl 34110) but was not diagnosed nor repaired due to the cost. The contact called an independent mechanic and was notified of nhtsa campaign number: 15v144000 (steering) however, the vin was not included. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and confirmed that the vin was not included. The contact was provided a case number. The failure mileage was approximately 44,700.
The contact owns a 2015 toyota camry. The contact stated that while driving, the vehicle would pull to the left or right making it difficult to steer the vehicle. The failure was intermittent. The contact had taken the vehicle to fallon ford-toyota (1351 w williams ave, fallon, nv 89406; (775) 423-2171) who informed the contact that due to not being able to duplicate the failure, they were unable to diagnose the failure. The contact stated that the failure was related to nhtsa campaign number: 15v144000 (steering) however, the vin was not included. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and confirmed that the vin was not included. The approximate failure mileage was 83,200.
Electric power steering: at times car would pull very hard to either the left or right at low speeds.the pull was so strong that it would pull you off of the road if you weren't gripping the steering wheel firmly. The problem would persist until the vehicle speed reached approximately 40 mph.i took the car to the dealership, and after getting the car to replicate the problem, they ran a diagnostic and determined 'torque sensor for steering out of whack needs both gear, column, and ecm computer.'the 2015 camry has a recall on the electric power steering but i am told my car is not part of this recall.this could be a dangerous defect if the problem occurred unexpectedly in heavy traffic.
While operating at low speed, the car started to steer to the left, requiring physical restraint to keep it moving straight. Without restraint, it would have gone into the curb. After the car was turned off, and following a 2 hour delay, the car was restarted and did not exhibit the problem. When i called toyota customer care, they indicated that this vin was not covered by the nhtsa recall notice about the same problem that affected other camry's of the same year. This appears to be a very dangerous condition that toyota is not addressing.
The contact owns a 2015 toyota camry. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds the steering wheel pulled to the right without warning. Additionally, while his wife was driving at unknown speeds, the steering wheel pulled to right without warning.the vehicle was taken to heritage toyota 1620 shelburne rd, south burlington, vt 05403 802) 865-8200 where diagnosed that an alignment was needed.the vehicle was repaired. The shop foreman informed contact the intermediate steering column was rusted. The manufacturer was contacted however no further assistance was provided. The failure mileage was 27,000. *as
Can goes out of control
There used to be whining noise when turning the wheel while leaving parking. This month i noticed the steering sometimes feels loose while driving either highway or city street.sometimes it veers left, sometimes veers right and sometimes normal.
Steering wheel lose control and the has to be held down, taking the wheels out of control and sways from side to side, sometimes on the left some times on the right(steering wheel assist)
Car pulls sharply to the right or left after starting up and driving. If i stop and turn of the ignition and restart the car it will run properly. This seems to happen if i park the car and have the wheels turned to the right or left as when you are on a hill. I have come close to having an accident several times until i realized i could correct the pulling by stopping and restarting the vehicle with the wheels pointing straight.the 2015 camry has a recall on the steering issue (#15v144000) but toyota manufacturer states that my vin # isn't covered under that recall.i have seen numerous complaints (50+) on line and with bluebook on the same issue. I don't see any investigation on this issue on the nhtsa website. Maybe the recall needs to be expanded. If i pay toyota to fix the issue and a recall is issued is toyota required to reimburse me? the problem started sporadically in march 2020 but more often now. With covid-19 i haven't been driving regularly.
I got camry se 2015 in august 2015 and after 18 months battery totally out of function so i replaced battery now last few weeks i have issue with steering trouble shoooting. Steering doing buzzing weird sound and i contact to toyota because i heard that 110,000 recalls those time for steering issue and they said as per your vin number your vehicle not recall. I went to car mechanic and they said they are able to find a this sound. I am worrying about any my car is effected any manufacturer issue because within short time battery gone and now steering issue.
I filed a vehicle safety complaint last month in reference to my electric power steering symbol came on in my car. I didn't drive my car for 2 weeks because i didn't want to take a chance on having a crash. So on august 18, 2018, i decided to drive my car around the block to see if the light would come back on and the light didn't come on, but my steering wheel pulls from the left and the right if my hands are taken off the wheel for a minute. As i was driving around the block the wheel became very loosely to the touch of slightly holding it. It steer in the direction of left as i'm traveling straight up the road.
As i drive down a road mostly when car is first started, the steering goes very erratic. It gets a wide range of movement and feels as if i am losing control. This is happening more often as i drive it. My husband looked it up and there had been some recalls for steering in the 2015 camry, but, no recall for my car when i put in my vin #.
The steering becomes unresponsive for a period of time, sometimes pulls one way other times the other way. Then it works fine, this has been happening for several days and is very unpredictable and dangerous when you control of your steering ability. It always happens when in motion, and it's happened both on city streets and highway going at 20 mph andwhen on highway it seemed to correct it self at 50-60 mph??
My mother was in an accident that cost her life.the black box on the car says that there was a malfunction in the power steering that caused the car to pull sharply to the left.this caused her to hit a concrete median at highway speeds where her airbag failed to deploy.her spine broke in 4 places and suffered 7 broken ribs.*dt

The manufacturer was notified of the failure and did not assist since the vin was not included in a recall. The failure mileage was 62,000.
My car will start pulling to the right, after i park it , it will start pulling to the left and i have no control over the steering. My car has a lot of play in the steering column. I have almost been hit because of this problem, driving down hwy 249 i could only drive 45 miles a hour with my emergency flasher on. I am 71 yes old and i have to use my car for work.
Pulls hard to the left at times at speeds less than 40 mphit is an intermittent problem not caused by tires or wheels - they have been changed
After starting the car unexpectedly pulls left until driven for a while, then at next start it pulls right. After driving for a while the problem seems to disappear. The steering feels imprecise and just after starting the car actually pulls into other lane
Vehicle driving normally until 85000 miles. Sporadically now pulls hard to right or left at low speeds. Seems dependent upon wheel position when ignition is turned off. When the issue occurs, turning the wheels to straight position prior to turning ignition off seems to correct temporarily.
The car was in operation mode on the freeway, while exiting the ramp- the car steering suddenly stopped working. The steering failed to maneuver , i attempted to move the steering to left and right- no improvement.i had taken to several shops to detect the problem. It was a fail attempt as the technician was unable to identify the problem. Finally, the toyota dealership quoted $350 just to run a diagnostic. I had nearly spent over $1000 in several occasions- the fees do not include towing fees. I was very fortunate this occurred the exit of the direction.
While driving car consistently pulls left then after parking and shutting the car off the car pulls right while driving.so far this has happened 3 times in a row right then left then right.the vin is not part of the current recall.
While car is in motion at regular or slow speed, the maintenance light flashes on for about 2 seconds while turning left. Maintenance to the car has always been performed by a toyota dealer.
When driving my wheel will randomly start veering to the left or right. The wheel also becomes much looser and is harder to control. This can happen while my car is stationary or while in motion. It happens randomly.
The contact owns a 2015 toyota camry. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 15v144000 (steering); however, the part to do the repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of the time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure.
Takata recall- i noticed the last week as i'm driving my speed feels as if it's decreasing but the speed odometer is not decreasing and when i turn my steering wheel ( left and right turns) it making screeching sounds, at first the sounds was light but you can hear it but today (8-3-18) as i turn in the grocery store parking lot it was very loud and i barely was turning the steering wheel. Once i got back into the car, cut the ignition on and backed out there was no screeching sound but as i'm driving on the interstate head home the speed starts back decreasing a little, when i turned into my dive way the screeching sound started back.
Wo weeks ago the steering wheel pulled to the right. Would not stop pulling until i turned off the ignition.sometime turning the ignition off did not help.yesterday steering wheel pulled to the left! would not stop until ignition turned off.problem is worst at low speed, or stoped and then accerating slowly.city street is worst, and turing while accerating car pulls either left or right at random
Electric steering system all of a sudden failed.i have to manually force the wheels to turn.steering is a little better at high speeds but still has a limited range of steering, especially at slower speeds.
I have 52,000 miles on my car. I never had problem with the steering until recently. While driving at speeds anywhere from 5-55 my car will pull hard to the left. When i pull over and turn the car off and restart it, it stops but after a little while of driving again it will pull hard to the right. It's always at random times and i never know which way it will pull and it doesn't pull at all times. This is a very dangerous situation that toyota needs to address.
The wheel starts pulling right and then goes back to normal. Also very hard to turn with a popping noise then went back to normal. The problem persists more often and only wants to turn right. It also does it on main streets highway etc off and on seems dangerous.
Hi , i'm reporting this steering problem cause it's getting worse and still no recall. I took it in and toyota coded it on computer and no code came up. They never test drove it either. Cause it pulls to the left and right and a constant whining. It does that driving down the highway. Its starting to get scary. I don't want to loose control of this vehicle. It's my only one i got. Please recall my car. It's got 49,000 miles and 2015 camry. This is over a 175 complaints for this steering problem. I shouldn't have to pay for toyota to check it again. It's obvious sound now. Thanks
Car sporadically pulls to the left whether or not i am turning. After ignition is turned off and then car started, car drives normally. This has occurred 5 or 6 times within the last month. I understand there is a recall on this for an electronic steering component, but my vin is not included in this recall. This is also stated by many other owners online..
The contact owns a 2015 toyota camry. While driving 20 mph, the steering seized for approximately three minutes. The contact veered to the shoulder of the road. When the vehicle was turned off and restarted, it resumed normal operation. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed, but the failure could not be duplicated. The vehicle was not repaired. A dealer was not contacted. The contact referenced nhtsa campaign number: 15v144000 (steering). The manufacturer was contacted and provided case number:[xxx]. No further assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 61,900. *ln consumer stated battery was replaced but still has issues with the steering, where consumer had no control over steering.('parts of this document have been redacted to protect personally identifiable information pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).')
Driver's seatbelt is hard to release when appliedsteering wheel makes a noise when making turns, wether or not vehicle is in motion;like if it needed fluid but checked the steering wheel fluid and level is ok,but still steering wheel makes noise like if something it defected.
Steering will stop at left or right position while driving instead of stopping at straight position. Restarting the car will fix the problem but will occur after few days. Same situation occured multiple time so got alignment done yesterday but problem still there. Searched online and saw other people having similar problems with 2015 toyota camry, but also mentioned that their vin number was not on recall lost. Checked my vin number and it was not in the recall list. This situation is dangerous and need to be fixed. I have experienced driving with this problem and it is not safe specially on highways.
Vehicle will abruptly steer to the left or right while in motion. Doesn't matter if on a city street or highway.turning the vehicle off will sometimes correct the issue. Vehicle only has 66k miles.
When in motion at relatively low speeds on city streets, the steering often veers to the left or right unexpectedly, and after making a turn, the steering tends to remain in the turn and does not automatically return to a neutral position.
This started happening this week. If the front tires are pointing to the left or right when the car is first started, the car will pull hard to that side when i start driving down the road. I can turn the car, but the steering seems less responsive than normal. Pulling over with the front tires facing straight ahead, shutting off the car and then restarting the car seems to reset something in the steering and the steering will work normally. This has happened numerous times. There is something really wrong with the steering on this car. I checked and my vin is not part of any recall. I have an appointment to have the dealership look at, but it's clear from reading other reports online that this is a common and unsolved problem with this particular vehicle.
552(b)(6). *cc
Steering intermittently pulls the driving wheel to the left. Sometimes does and others no.
The vehicle suddenly starts to pull one way or the other and looses accurate control of steering while driving.
The contact owns a 2015 toyota camry. While driving the vehicle, the steering wheel erroneously turned and caused the vehicle to become difficult to steer. The failure occurred at speeds less than 35 mph. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the steering column needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 120,000.
At random times the steering would start pulling either left or right pretty hard. It seems like if the wheel is turned in a certain direction when the vehicle is started that's the direction it would pull to. Toyota recalled over 110,00 of that year and model for an electronic power steering ecu and my vehicle isn't a part of that recall but the same thing is happening to a lot of other people. While driving it would be as straight as an arrow and then all of a sudden it would start pulling left or right. If i turned the car off and straightened the wheel out and turned it back on, the problem would disappear and then randomly it would happen again a few days later
While driving steering started pulling to the left or the right. Alignment, outer, inner tie rods, lower and upper ball joints and strut mounts all checked normal. No warning lights or codes. Car goes straight after turning off and back but can suddenly start pulling. Checked for recalls and car vin is not part of campaign number: 15v144000 (steering) which is exactly the problem i'm having this is a safety concern.
Steering wheel locked while driving and eps light came on and then turned off
When you are driving down the road, sometimes the car would either veer to the left or the right and you can't control the steering wheel.
At low speeds, the vehicle would pull to either the left or right. Dealership reported that the steering angle sensor and motor tested fine. Wound up replacing the car's battery and that corrected the issue. The battery light was not illuminated, and the battery tested within specs but was on the low end of acceptable. Apparently if the battery is low, but still within specs, it can affect the performance of the electric steering motor and or sensor and result in pulling in one direction or the other.
Steering problem- 2015 toyota camry steering wheel pulls to the right at low speeds, but align at highway speeds. Parked, turned the engine off and restart engine and start driving, the steering problem goes away and the wheel is perfectly aligned at low and highway speeds, turn the car on later and the steering wheel pulls to the right again while driving, this symptom has been going on for approx. 3 days. Looked up help online and found 'electric power steering (eps) electronic control unit (ecu)' and 'steering:electric power assist system' damages during manufacture process or manufacture part defect. This sporadic steering problem started at approximately 46,000 miles on the vehicle, which is only use to go to work and home and driven on avg 20 miles daily.
Takata recall feels like a loose part moving when turning.
My 2015 toyota camry starting having serious steering issues. As of monday, october 1, the steering wheel will randomly pull to either the right or left side and seems feel very loose while driving, as if there is no self sustained stability or resistance. I have researched, and found that the year/make/model of my car has a recall for failed "electronic power assist system". Unfortunately though, the recall only applies to a limited amount of vehicles. I have also noticed that there are several others logging the same complaint regarding the same make/model/year vehicle, which leads me to believe that this issue may very well stretch far beyond the vehicles fortunate enough to have been included in the recall. I believe it would be wise of toyota and/or nhtsa, as well as beneficial to many toyota customers (both current and future) to revisit the limited recall with the idea of expanding it to include more 2015 model camry's. This is a hazardous, and potentially life threatening, issue.
The contact owns a 2015 toyota camry. While driving various speeds, the vehicle stalled and independently restarted. The contact stated that the failure recurred six times. The contact also stated that a warning indicator illuminated for the steering wheel. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. Toyota direct (4248 morse rd, columbus, oh 43230, (614) 476-1979)was notified of the failure. The contact was informed that there would be a cost assessed to diagnose the vehicle. The vehicle was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 15v144000 (steering). The manufacturer was contacted. The approximate failure mileage was 66,048.
The contact owns a 2015 toyota camry. While driving 30 mph, the vehicle veered to the left and right without warning. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the power assist failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired and the failure recurred. The dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was contacted and provided toyota case number: 1908190590. The contact referenced nhtsa campaign number: 15v144000 (steering). The failure mileage was approximately 54,000.
When driving down the road the vehicle starts turning to the left or right , every so often. Does not happen every trip ,but enough to realize there is a problem.
Car pulls sharply to the right right after starting up and driving. If i turn off ignition and restart it will run properly. It occurs around 30 percent of the time.
Car will pull hard left on occasion while driving. Once car is stopped and re-started, issue goes away. Pull is hard enough to force car into on-coming traffic. All equipment has been checked and verified in good working order multiple times. Mechanics believe issue may be with electronic steering control but cannot verify as issue cannot be duplicated and is random. This has occurred on highways, parking lots, city streets, etc. Condition is not affected by driving surface. Last occurance was 7/7/18.
Steering suddenly started pulling hard to the left at slow speeds. According to the complaint forums, this is a very, very common defect. This defect is highly dangerous. There was a limited recall on this defect already. Why are so many people getting cheated by being excluded from the existing recall on this widely known dangerous defect?
Seering wheel was shifting right and would not stop until the ignition was turned off. A few days later the same thing happened but this time to the left, turning the car off and then on again made it stop
The steering wheel drive is not safe on the highway.... Hard steering control... Pull tires on the highway..not safe
My vehicle has less than 30,000 miles on it and last week i started to have an intermittent problem with the steering. When i pulled out of my garage i noticed the vehicle was pulling to the left as i proceeded down the street. I thought that the left front tire was going flat. Upon checking all tires the pressure was correct. I then took the car out again and the steering continued to pull to the left. I returned to home and parked the car. The next day i took the car out and it performed normally. I drove it for two more days without a problem. On the third day as i was driving i took a left turn and the car wanted to continue turning left. For the next several miles the car continued pulling left. I called my local toyota dealer and asked if they had any idea what the problem was. They suggested the normal things tire pressure, alignment, etc. However a check of those proved not to be the cause. They said they had no idea what caused this intermittent problem. I searched the internet and found that other 2015 camry owners had similar problems with the electronic steering. I also learned that there was a limited recall on the electronic steering component however my vehicle was not on the recall list. Today i drove the vehicle and it was normal. In the last week i have experienced three instances of the vehicle pulling sharply to the left and continued pulling to the left for several miles before it returned to normal operation. This all happened during city driving with speeds below 45 mph. This vehicle was involved in a minor front end collision four month ago. The damage was cosmetic including the front bumper grill and hood. There was no mechanical damage and the air bag did not deploy. The vehicle was repaired in a body shop and i have been driving it without problems until last weeks incident with the steering.
While driving on interstate headlights would automatically cut off , fuses keep blowing, gear shift locks up, and steering wheel locks up while driving
The contact owns a 2015 toyota camry. The contact stated while turning, the steering wheel felt loss, and the check air pressure for tires warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the technician inspects the tires and air was added in the tires. Once the contact left the independent mechanic driving at 45 mph in the rain, both passenger and driver rear tires shifted to the right. The contact lost control of the vehicle, and tried to regain control of the vehicle steering wheel which failed to operated correctly. The contact depressed the brake pedal which failed, causing the contact to crashed into a telephone pole. All air bags deployed. The contact sustained bruising to the left side of her body. The left foot severely sprung. Medical attention was contacted and had taken the contact to the hospital where the contact was treated for her injuries. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed by the police to a collision shop, where the contact insurance company was contacted came out to the lot and towed the vehicle to another lot where at this time was awaiting results. The contact mentioned nhtsa campaign number: 15v144000 (steering) as a possible solution to the failure however the vin was not included. The manufacturer nor dealer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 18,868.
Car pulls strongly to the left. Mechanic said suspension is good, must be electric steering. Tires are good. Car was in motion on a city street. The problem has happened several times. Nhtsa campaign # 15v144000
The contact owns a 2015 toyota camry. The contact stated that the steering wheel seized and became extremely hard to maneuver. The vehicle was not diagnosed by a dealer. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and stated that the vehicle was excluded from nhtsa campaign number: 15v144000 (steering). The approximate failure mileage was 85,100.
Many areas have paint perining away, such as the trunk and areas of the doors.
*dt
When first purchased the vehicle noticed a sound coming from the right rear area when turning into a driveway or driving on a bumpy road or speed bump and thought it would go away.but recently noticed that the sound has become louder so brought it into toservco toyota honolulu on12/5/18.they determined that the sound was from the moonroof.it happens when i turn the steering wheel at a certain angle and go over a bump or rough road.apparently from my understanding, the roof is not properly reinforced in the frame.so it's basically ' shifting' and thus the sound is heard.repairing it is very expensive because the factory warranty has expired.it also involves removing the headliner and doors.after doing all of this i'm worried that my car will never be the same.what if something else goes wrong?i don't think it's a safety issue but if other vehicles like mine have the same problem shouldn't it be considered a manucturer's defect and shouldn't be ignored?
The chrome finish on the front dash side airvents are reflected in the outside side mirrors, causing an unusual and surprising distraction while driving.the car was just bought, and otherwise satisfactory.we would like to see this remedied by toyota, as the chrome could be painted black, and thereby eliminating the reflections in the side mirrors.
Good morning, i am emailing to ask about a problem i have been having with my 2015 camry hybrid se. For over a year now, i have been hearing this frustrating clunking noise every time i go over a slight bump or even just when making a turn. The noise sounds like it is coming from the roof and at this point is unbearable. My car started having this problem a little after 100k miles.after talking with my friend who also is an avid toyota camry buyer, he explained experiencing the same issues with both his 2015 camry, and most recently with his 2018 camry. He said he was able to get both vehicle's roof issue fixed at no cost and that the clunking noise was eliminated.is this a recall issue ? i have read multiple blogs with camry drivers describing the same issue. I would like to get this problem addressed and fixed. It has got to be a manufacturer issue. I am also aware that my vehicle is over warranty.initially, i thought this would be a minor fix but was shocked when my dealer told me the estimate to fix the problem was almost $3,000. How is that even fair?i would like to do what my friend did and get this issue addressed at no cost since this is not an issue that i caused.when returning to my dealer and explaining that my friend got this same issue fixed at $0 cost, they told me they cannot fix my car. Driving the vehicle has become unbearable as the 'clunking noise' occurs constantly.i hope to figure out a way to get this issue addressed. I just can't afford to pay 3,000 to get this fixed and feel it is unjust to expect any 2015 model owner to do so. Especially, given the current times in the middle of a pandemic nonetheless..i hope to hear from you guys soon.best,[xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).
Knocking occurs in roof/sunroof structure when driving at low speeds on roads with minor bumps, and when driving over all speed bumps (moving slowly or quickly over them). Sounds like parts of roof structure are hitting one another. After conducting online research, issue seems to be common among other owners. 2015 toyota camry xse v6.
I had a bad accident last week , my car slipped on the road because of the weather and i couldn't control it and i hit the other car was coming on the other lane and we both hit the metal fence on the road and my air bags did not blow up. And that happened on the highway.
Took car to toyota service station for maintenance. Service station had a hard time getting hood opened. The hood latch assembly was rusted. I was recommended to buy a new one, also advised that next time to get it opened it may have to be broken off.it may be possible that the hood may get stuck in the opened position, or come opened. I did not purchase it. I believe that the problem is a vehicle defect that should not occur and should be corrected.
Moon roof structure noise when going up uneven ramp.started awhile ago but getting worse.
The dash has a clicking/popping noise every time i brake, it can become distracting when i am driving. I have reviewed a number of blogs and it appears that customers that purchased the same care have a similar/same issue as i do with the 2015 toyota camry.
The door just open on the driver seat twice during the time i'm crossing a steep train railroad crossing
The contact owns a 2015 toyota camry. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle drifted to the right and left and the front end of the vehicle was unstable. The vehicle was taken to o'briens toyota located at 2550 shadeland ave, indianapolis, in 46219 who performed a front wheel alignment. The tires were replaced however, the failure persisted. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 102,000. The vin was not available.

The contact owns a 2015 toyota camry. The contact stated that while driving at 40 mph, the contact was unable to control the vehicle. The contact stated that the vehicle drifted to the left and to the right at times. The vehicle was not taken to be diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The approximate failure mile was 75,000.

Stanionary

Car caught fire in driveway. Causing massive damage in the trunk where battery and hybrid system is all the way up to the full engine compartment. 2am...spontaneous massive electrical fire. Car had been parked for 7 hours.not hot.in driveway.not confined in any way.
The car clock has been running fast (4-5 minutes after six months) starting from the date purchased (may 2015). More critically, the clock started to sudden change the time after starting the car engine. The clock sudden change issues have happened three times recently (first one in september 2017, second one in january 2018, and third one in april 2018).although it reflects on clock changing but it is not sure if the problem could be even more serious (like engine....).i contacted the toyota dealer and toyota customer service regarding the issues in january 2018 and april 2018. However, they acknowledged the problem but refused to take care of issues. Please help us to make the manufacturer to take up their responsibilities. Thanks.
Airbags did not deploy in car accident. Also, the engine did not shut off during the same car accident.
The car accelerated itself
1st incident:car in motion driving straight uphill on 2 lane country road at30 mph - car kept lurching forward - lasted a couple of minutes.2nd incident:car stopped at stoplight.stepped on accelerator pedal to move straight ahead and car didn't move.stepped harder on accelerator and car suddenly lurched and sped up very fast.3rd incident: car in motion and turned onto dead end street.car started to lurch forward at speed of about 20 mph while driving straight down street - lasted a few seconds.4th incident: car in motion on route 17west in ny state (3 lane highway with very busy holiday traffic)- driving straight at approximately 65 - 70 mph - in left hand passing lane.car started to lurch very hard and then lose power - almost had accident trying to move over 2 lanes to shoulder.car kept lurching forward very hard and then slowing down practically to a stand still - did this for approximately 15 minutes until we could get it off exit and into a gas station.car was then towed to a toyota dealership - they couldn't find any problems.car is now sitting in our driveway and we will not drive it any further!innocent people could get killed because of this car.we have now reported this problem to 3 different toyota dealerships and they cannot determine the problem after inspecting the car.
While attempting to drive, gas pedal would not accelerate.i was literally pressing the gas pedal to the floor and could not get acceleration.i am being told that the throttle body is defected.
My car makes this sound on the front when you go 30mph already change tire like 3 time rotors ones struts brakes n it just this noise that is annoying
Car shuts offwhile driving by its self on highway.

The approximate failure mileage was 25,000.
Collision avoidance system has failed on two occasions, may 10 (17419 miles) and june 21, 2016 (19185 miles). In both instances it was while being driven on 2-lane highways at highway speeds. Both times it was taken to my dealer where the repair was to simply recalibrate the system.

The vehicle was stopped in a driveway, i shifted the transmission into reverse and the throttle accelerated full on.i tried to brake the vehicle and turn it out of the street but i could not override the acceleration and backed into a bolder retaining wall. Toyota inspected the vehicle and said it showed acceleration and braking but denied responsibility.
The steering wheel drive is not safe on the highway.... Hard steering control... Pull tires on the highway..not safe
Is making a noise on passenger side and the steering is funny
I was driving my 2015 with 61000 miles on it when it just lost power on the highway. I was able to pull off on a back road. I was told it was the throttle body and is very rare for it to go outespecially with a car with only 61000.
When driving on a sunny day---or at night on a lighted thoroughfare---with the windows rolled up, the following occurs: the ac outlet on the driver's side, as well as the ac outlet on the front passenger side---both of these images (that is, the entire ac outlet, including the chrome bezel surrounding it) are reflected onto the driver & front passenger side windows---and then subsequently reflected onto the 2 outside mirrors. The result is that, when another auto is approaching on either the left or right side of your vehicle, then you will see the approaching car in the outside mirror, but superimposed over it will be the entire reflection of the ac outlets. Thus, it would appear that, when light enters the car & hits on the ac outlets, then the image is reflected onto the side windows, & then continues its reflection onto the outside mirrors. However, when the windows are rolled down, there is no reflection issue at all. In addition, all of the buttons & switches inside the car are coated with some sort of chemical, which makes them all light up at night in a blue tone; this makes it very easy to identify buttons/switches in the dark; however, some of the buttons also are reflected onto the side windows, & end up as well on the outside mirrors (in particular, the blind spot monitor, traction control, lane departure, & dynamic radar buttons, which are located on the dashboard just to the left of the steering wheel. My dealership tried their best to correct the above "design faults", but were unable to do so. I have 2 case #'s: one is with the dealership --#[xxx]; the other is with toyota corporate, #[xxx].information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). The slant of the windshield is such that the top of dash reflects in it.as a result the driver is looking through the reflection of the dash while driving, reducing clarity of sight.this is a particular issue when driving from bright sunlight into shaded areas and the reverse.the reflection occurs most of the time with few exceptions. It does not occur only during the day.the reflection occurs at night caused by the light from street lights.then not only is it dark but the driver is looking through the reflection on the windshield.this condition has existed since purchase, july 2015.
Dashboard reflects sun back into windshield glass causing significant decrease in driver visibility, driver fatigue, driver eye and headache, and overall safety.this occurs in both sunlight and at night time reflecting street lights.

Dear sir/madam,i've bought a certified camry 2015 with 30k miles on it 6 month ago from ourisman fairfax toyota dealer! the car came with 4 brand new goodyear tires. Last week, both my front tires got flat at the same time on the sidewalls which means the tires were of such a low quality! one of my tires got a 3-inch hole on the sidewall at low speed! thank god we weren't on a highway in the time of that incident!anyway, i followed up this problem to at least get my flat tires covered by my toyota certification or tire manufacturer warranty. Both of them denied to help me and referred me to each other! i'm still shocked why two front tires should get flat at the same time on the sidewall not on tread! while they've been only used for less than 8k miles! it puts my whole family's life in danger! they should at least pay me for the flat tires!i highly appreciate if you could help me solve this issue, regards,[xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).*cc
These are my oem tires on my 2015 toyota camry hybrid with 13,000 miles. The tires are the oem bridgestone turanza el400-02 tires. I have discussed the problem with le mieux & son toyota in green bay, wi. The owner is tom le mieux and is the person i talked with among his service manager and the salesman. The wear on the tires is actually even across the front tires at 7/32 and 8/32 on rear tires. You will notice that the center tread pattern is almost gone each tire and extending into the next tread pattern on each side of the middle tread. There has been no over inflation of the tires and the tires have been rotated three times now according to the service manager and my maintenance book.per tom le mieux and his staff there is nothing that they will do to rectify the problem of the odd center tread pattern wear. Toyota puts this junk on their vehicles and one should only expect to get 20,000 miles from them.loosing the tread pattern is a safety issue and the tires should be replaced. This car is already hydroplaning. The tires slip during acceleration from a stop sign. The also slip when cornering on wet pavement.i bought a 2007 camry with the same tires on it and basically had a similar wear issue problem in 2008. At that time bridgestone was also having problems with these turanza tires and toyota replaced my tires. Not this time they say.
Can goes out of control
The steering wheel drive is not safe on the highway.... Hard steering control... Pull tires on the highway..not safe
Steering wheel lose control and the has to be held down, taking the wheels out of control and sways from side to side, sometimes on the left some times on the right(steering wheel assist)
My car makes this sound on the front when you go 30mph already change tire like 3 time rotors ones struts brakes n it just this noise that is annoying
Went to the walmart tire & auto center in sand springs, ok (store #00838) for a new set of tires. When i left, the tpms was showing an error. I returned to the center and they said it would clear on its own. It did not. They had broken one of the tpms sensors which is why the system was faulting.so, they sent me away with a faulty tpms that they damaged. I tried to get it repaired at my hometown walmart in searcy, ar but was unsuccessful, so i took it back to the toyota dealer where i purchased the car and they repaired it at my expense. I have contacted the sand springs walmart management about the situation with no response. I contacted walmart corporate in bentonville, ar and their respose was to contact the sand springs walmart to resolve the issue, which i have already attempted to do. Attached are pictures of the tpms sensor that was broken by the sand springs walmart, and a picture of the after-market tpms sensor that was installed by the searcy, ar walmart that was not compatible with my toyota. I have copies of letters to both the sand springs walmart as well as walmart corporate that i can provide upon request. I thought the nhtsa should be aware that the sand springs walmart tire & auto center was damaging the tpms on cars and sending vehicles on their way with faulty tpms. I have included an image of the service order #485700 42175 which indicates they reset the tpms which clearly did not happen. It also has a signature on the form that is clearly not mine.
