At 50000 miles there was a plastic crunching sound in the steering column. The air bag light went on. Over the next couple of weeks there was more crunching and lost the cruise control followed by the horn and radio controls. The phone function was the last to go on the steering wheel. It was diagnosed as the clock spring and because my car was not in the recall for the exact same thing as other toyota vehicles i was told they would not fix it. This is a safety issue and my airbag and horn do not work due to a faulty part that toyota is well aware of. Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

My father was trying to pull into parking space at very slow speed when car suddenly accelerated with force that it jumped the curb and hit the light pole.my father's feet were not on the gas paddle.he recently bought this brand new car.the air bags did not deploy either.this is a sudden acceleration problem and it's very dangerous.looks like toyota has not fixed this safety problem.

The contact owns a 2014 toyota camry. While driving approximately 30 mph, the driver side air bag warning indicator illuminated. The contact also stated that the warning indicator had been illuminating on and off ever since 12/16/17. The vehicle was taken to the dealer (clairemont toyota in clairemont california) where it was diagnosed that the floor wire harness squib circuit failed and needed replacement. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 38,600.

Driver airbag did not work in front end and driver side collision.

Sirius xm radio has a radio device for cars that do not have a built in xm radio. The problem is that it comes with a 20 foot cord. It is meant to be placed on the dashboard. The cord goes through the car and is placed on top of the car. My cord got stuck in my steering wheel and snapped the clock spring. This is a very serious problem as all my capabilities were restricted. My horn, airbag and controls were not operable. This was because the clock spring got severed. It is a severe safety hazard. The vehicle was in motion.

I was driving during night with lights on at hiway speed and all interior and exterior lights went out while driving 70 mph in pitch black! i had to guess where i was on curved overpass. I tried flicking the hi/low beam switch, but that didn't help. Couldn't get lights to come on until stopped, shut off car and restarted it. Has happened twice since i bought it new. First time was prior to any body damage, second time it wasn't completely pitch black so not as dangerous. Another trip we were on 4 lane interstate driving through a city and someone else had hit an orange construction barrel and it had flipped up into air and we hit it at hiway speed on left front corner of car. Had to replace bumper, headlight, washer fluid tank, repair fender. Air bags never went off. I am an emt and another day was driving to a gunshot call at 80 mph and reached for pager as it was falling and front wheel dropped off shoulder and i knew not to correct it, so just kept straight and came to stop in snow filled ditch. Air bags did not deploy. I had to get it towed out, and the tow truck driver indicated that it was a difficult ditch to get it out of. Had get get it realigned and replace right front headlight, bumper, and some other plastic pieces. Third time we were t-boned at an intersection in town, would estimate less than 30 mph, and air bags did not deploy. Damage was bad enough it was not driveable anymore and insurance company totaled the car out. We bought the car back to repair it to continue driving it, but now i am thinking that was a poor decision as i wonder about the safety of it. The last accident has me very shook up and i am waiting to have surgery on my neck now because of it. I wonder if the side air bags had worked, would i need to have my neck fused.

The car had been given us stall peoblems for quite a while.the toyota placecould not duplicate the events.on feb 2 1918 my wife drove over to my daughters house .she pull into yard, and when she applied the brake about 30 feet from house, the car exceletrated into house wide open.she said when she applied brake it went all the way to the floor.all airbags deployed.the house was damaged, knocking out the floor joist.she had pulled into house at 113 ida st.hot springs ar.the house sits about 50 feet from street.since the accident she is having memory problems.the vehicle was declared total loss.we purchased a 2017 toyota camry le,with about the same miles on it.we are having the same stall problems with it.if you stop the pull out and turn into traffic, sometimes it will stall1 to 3 seconds.we are deeply worried about getting hit by oncomming drivers..

When i accelerate, hesitation and stalling occur.feels as if the transmission is slipping.it interferes with my driving severely.

Was involved in a 3 car collision on the freeway fast lane. Car is in pretty bad shape, fluid leaking, hood looks like an upside down taco shell, lights smashed in-broken, and none of the airbags deployed. The vehicle is not drive-able, driver door is stuck from the impact-again not a single airbag deployed.

When im doing a light acceleration from 20 to 50 mph there is a shuddering vibration from the transmission that vibrates the car. I have to come off of the accelerator pedal and press harder just to stop the shudder and vibration. My airbag light is on and stays on constantly.

My steering wheel controls (including cruise control, phone controls, radio and volume controls) stopped working while driving about 1 month ago. While at my local toyota dealership for my regular maintenance, i had a diagnostic test run. I was informed than my spiral cable was the issue, which affects my controls and air bag. My car was purchased new of the lot 2.5 years ago, has only been serviced by my local toyota dealership.

Driving on i-70 east of frederick, md up long hill when car lost power. Speed dropped from 75 to 50 mph.iwas in center lane and traffic was heavy. Narrowly avoided multi-car pileup while trying to work my way to shoulder. Nothing on dashboard indicated problem. No unusual odors or sounds. I had been driving about 4 hours when incident occurred. When i returned to florida 3 days later i took the car to the dealer for inspection and repair. They could not diagnose problem because no error codes appeared on their equipment and they could not replicate the problem because there are no hills in the area. Took car to a second dealer and got the same response. Dealer recommends 6 cylinder car. I have driven nothing but 4 cylinder cars for more than 30 years and have driven them from coast to coast including colorado, wyoming, montana and california. I never experienced this problem with any of the 4 cylinder cars on any terrain. There is no question that the car has a defect which could be a serious safety problem and the lack of diagnosis indicates to me a failure in their diagnostic equipment.

The car computer refuses to accelerate properly when needed. When pressing on accelerator to cross busy intersection or from stop light, the exhibited 3-5 seconds of delay, it refuse to pickup speed which could cause a deadly accident! toyota must recall the cars back and fix this problem before someone died again on the road!!!

Dead battery after car is idle for 3-4 days, this has happened 3 times.

The contact owns a 2014 toyota camry. While parked, the vehicle was unable to start and various electrical functions were active. In addition, the doors could not be locked from outside the vehicle. The contact mentioned that the vehicle was able to start after a while. The failure recurred intermittently. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed, but the cause of the failure could not be determined. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 500.

I went out to the garage to verify that the garage door was closed and heard something humming in the garage. Upon investigating the sound it turned out to be coming from under the rear of the car. The only thing that made sense to me was the fuel pump was running. I proceeded to get the keys and cycled the ignition to on without starting the car and then back to off. The humming stopped. I did remember hearing a second humming sound start and stop when turning the key to the on position, which would be the normal fuel pump cycling for an engine start sequence. I am wondering if what i originally heard may have been a relief valve slowly bleeding off pressure, but i am not sure if there is a relief valve somewhere in the back of the car. I disconnected the battery overnight for piece of mind. This did all occur between 4-5 hours after the car had been parked. I will be contacting my toyota dealer regarding this problem.

The fog light at the bottom of the bumper caught on fire. The fireman stated the have never seen that before. He also stated it was an electrical problem. For me too report it to toyota

I have had all 4 of my door actuators replaced. Two of my door actuators have been replaced twice. My vehicle is no longer under warranty, so i cannot afford to replace the door actuators. Although, i believe that there is another issue with the vehicles electrical system. The locks will work sometimes and not work sometimes. They pick and choose when they want to work. Additionally, i have had to replace the a/c motor once, and the new one goes in and out. I sometimes have to hit beneath the dash to get my a/c to kick on.

The contact owns a 2014 toyota camry. The contact stated that the vehicle was emitting a mildew odor causing him to become nauseous when driving. The failure occurred on a daily basis. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the air conditioning system needed to be refreshed. The vehicle was repaired but the failure persisted. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 21,000.

Battery died, battery was jumped and the windshield wipers switch fried and short circuited my entire electrical wiring. Resulting in $2,800.00 in damages. The car was stationary. There was recall on this problem for camry's and i believe this wasn't fixed on mine.

Touchscreen does not work 100%. As you travel down toward the bottom of the screen, the touch sensor is off. When you get to the bottom of the screen, you can not successfully touch any icons within around the bottom inch of the screen. This does affect syncing a new hands free device. This makes it a safety issue since you cannot sync a new phone or bluetooth device for safe driving. This vehicle is driven in pennsylvania and maryland.

For the fourth time, an actuator in my 2014 camry le failed.i now have had four ' different ' actuators fail in my car.this as a safety issue.most consumers expect that if the car has an auto-lock feature ' as ours has' that it will do so.if one depresses the remote lock button, or the lock button on the driver's door, they expect all doors will lock.our doors fail in all these ways.having four locked doors in our sedan is a vital safety feature, both during movement, and while parked.we bought our camry as a new car in 2014.approximately one year ago at 31k miles, the rear, left actuator failed.the oem part cost $341.i purchased a replacement, and fixed at my expense in march, 2018.the day of the repair, the front passenger side failed.i called toyota experience.i asked for assistance to which their response was a $200 refund on a new actuator purchase from a toyota dealer.the cost of new oem part was $329, plus, installation.i would have to foot the difference and jump through various hoops to seek a re-imbursement.in early november 2018 the front, driver door actuator failed.really, three actuators going bad on one car ' starting with a three year old automobile, garaged and very well maintained, with only 31,000 miles?in mid november the rear, passenger side did not properly lock.now all the actuators in our car have gone bad in the last year!this is a safety and welfare issue.we constantly worry if any of the doors auto-lock on movement.similarly, we worry that if a door is left unlocked we could be victimized with an unauthorized entry with loss of personal property, vandalism or assault.as we have never experienced similar problems with door lock mechanisms since we started driving (late 1960s), we think this is a safety and quality control issue that toyota should remedy.

In my opinion there is an issue with the battery and or charging system.the vehicle was bought new.the new battery failed within three years.a new replacement battery then displayed notable corrosion starting around four months.the internet confirms the opinion of a seemingly off gassing problem causing corrosion especially on the positive terminal as is my experience.the internet notes risks of being stranded with dead batteries and in at least one case belief or opinion that a house fire starting in the garage caused around $300,000 of damage.the fire is stated to have derived in the battery location from a claimed defective battery.the dealer states corrosion is common and costs around $55 to service and or replacing positive battery terminal clamps and connecting cables as needed.my sister vehicle with an older battery were both garaged in the california moderate climate and has no corrosion.the issue of a failure seems suspected by toyota as the date i reported the second alleged failure, toyota sends me a questionnaire asking about driving distances and times noting the battery failure.the internet suspects the system is overcharging.danger in my view arises from being stranded or fire.unnecessary cost is required in my opinion to service at $55 and or buy new clamps and cables that are corroded.the toyota survey confirms suspicion advanced in my opinions about charging failure since questions include distance and time driven and starts and stops. I had pleasant treatment at the dealership and a report to the corporate toyota case manager. The pleasantries don't however account for the cost of service, cost or replacement and ancillaryconsiderations as being stranded with a dead battery is fraught with unsettling consequences.i am a loyal toyota customer, there is no rancor or animosity.i own several toyotas and will buy again.

2014 toyota camry se ..i was driving down the road and turned on my lights , as i did the entire dash lit up and the car almost stalled , got home and noticed my key fob wouldn't lock the doors , got back in to start it and it did nothing , no power to anything . I waited a few and then it started right up but the clock and radio had to reset , clicking noise on right side after car was off , backed up and power steering stopped . Mechanic couldn't duplicate the issue after a month , got the car back and it worked fine until this morning , wouldn't start , then started and the power steering light came on and the car sputtered as i turned on the lights , now there's no power to the car at all ( key fob doesn't work, won't turn over ) when this happens the radio goes off and back on and the clock stops working

Intermittently, the button start will not cause the car to start. It happens most often at temperatures around 50f. The car will indicate that it recognizes that a key is nearby (green key icon on the dash) but when the brake is depressed and the button is pushed, only the electronics of the car turn on. The car, though, refuses to turn over. We have taken this issue to a toyota dealer and, of course, they are unable to recreate the issue. They are also unable to find any cause for this problem. I suspect that it could be a grounding issue of the battery. But further testing of that hypothesis has proven me wrong, so far. I have seen similar problems online but no one has been able to offer a fix.

Steering system warning showing and have no power, hard time to restart the engine.

Ihad my breaks changed back in july, before i left on military orders. When i came back home, i noticed my car wasn't working properly. I would have to press really hard for them to work. Or they would still be engaged like, making it harder for me to drive. As well my car would rev up, in park mode. Or while i'm waiting at a red light or stop sign.i've noticed a popping sound on left side of my car as well. My electric system will sometimes cut off everything in my car. I will have to turn car off wait a few mins and turn it back on. I have had check engine lights come on, i took it to body shop. They ran a test on it. And stated everything was fine, and rest codes. I use this car to and from work. I get frequently maintenance checks. The only thing i've had done to care was replacement of head light from a deer hitting me. I've noticed malfunction prior to deer hitting me. I was told by body shop to report issues.

On dec. 1, my radio/ipod system malfunctioned. I was not able to go from am to fm to my ipod. Toyota replaced the radio unit with a rebuilt unit. On dec. 31, the entire system failed. The display screen is black; thus in addition to not having any sound system, the back up camera cannot display what is behind me.

The front door locks no longer operate by remote.this is not a remote problem since my rear door locks do respond.i believe the front door lock actuators have failed on both the driver and passenger sides.the repairs for this will cost hundreds of dollars.there is currently a class action lawsuit in california.i think this is a wide spread problem.

A rabbit chomped on the lower wiring harness rendering the car disabled due to the wiring being made out of an "organic" compound in keeping with its "green" philosophy. I was told by the mechanic it is made from either a peanut oil or similar ingredient that attracts rodents. He also went on to say that the wiring covering causes issues on many of the toyota's due to rodents eating the wiring and is is not covered under warranty. My car was sitting in my driveway prior to any issues and the engine would not start. This will cost $1900 to repair my brand new car.

The toyota camry was involved in a 2 vehicle accident resulting in damage to the front passenger side corner of the vehicle.the camry was not drivable after the accident and was towed to a body shop.two days later when an inspector went to look at the vehicle, it was found to have fire damage that resulted from a slow burn coming from the dash by the steering wheel.

On changing cellular service this year, i got a new phone.instructions to enter it into the camry's bluetooth were unsuccessful, because, as i found out after taking the camry to toyota for service, the bottom half of the touch screen no longer works.as a result, to use the cell phone in the car i have to hold it in my hand and work the phone.i was told by toyota that the car is out of warranty and that they will not fix the problem.this creates a safety problem, apparently so prevalent in toyotas that it can be googled online.

Driver was slowing down, coasting before applying brake to turned left into driveway. Driver applied brake and car accelerated very strong but brief; driver then applied brake very firmly, and car stopped; but by this time, car missed driveway entry, and had to back up to restart entry. This same scenario has occurred 3 times with 2 different drivers. Other 2 occurrences were less strong, sub-second acceleration "blips" toyota case #ta151210472.

The battery drains if the car is parked and not driven for more than a day or two.the dealer checked the issue and couldn't find anything.this issue occurred before; about 2 months ago.having to drive around with a portable jump kit in my trunk just in case.

'takata recall' on dec. 20, 2017 the sound in my toyota camry went out. The local dealership here in grenada,ms informed me on using these procedures to get the isssue token care of. I️ bought my 2014 camry brand new i️ am the first owner

First noticed last year 2018. Heat and a/c controls seemed to be fluctuating.a/c stopped blowing cold air a few times, until i started driving a few more miles, worked somewhat.now march 2019, a/c seemed to be getting warm it is not blowing cold air and the outside air control stays on but should not with the a/c control. Heat seems to work on and off, just not working properly.this is all while driving.i leased this car, the only owner, garaged and only 41k miles. I also got a weird smell one time but can't remember when it was. I am going to call flemington toyota and see what they say. Probably not covered. I am still making payments and that is so distressing and disheartening.

Touch screen controls are becoming non responsive starting at lower right hand corner.google search shows this is very, very common in 2014 and 2015 toyotas.can' t pair phone with bluetooth anymore, since "add" button is in lower right corner of screen.also very distracting while driving, when buttons never or intermittently respond!contacted toyota dealers and toyota headquarters.one dealer admitted being aware of the issue, but all say toyota hasn't issued a recall or warranty extension!safety issue with driver distraction!!!!

Had to replace my o2 sensor at my own cost of $430 due to a rodent chewing it. My engine light came in and this was why i got it checked. The mechanic at the dealer said rodents love the insulation on the wiring in these cars. I feel that soy based wiring is why this happened and was not my fault and should be covered by toyota.my car is parked where 3 other older vehicles also park and they did not have an issue. Only my car was affected. This is a manufacturing issue that should be corrected by the manufacturer at their expense.

While at a low rate of speed and usually coming to a stop, the brake, abs, and stability traction control dash lights will illuminate in the dashboard and will not turn off until car is restarted.this happens almost every time i use vehicle since about two months ago, it does not seem to affect normal braking during nice weather outside.i am concern during wet weather, the abs and/or traction control may fail and cause an accident.car has only about 16,000 miles on the odometer, but unfortunately is out of 3 year warranty.

Battery died, battery was jumped and the windshield wipers switch fried and short circuited my entire electrical wiring. Resulting in $2,800.00 in damages. The car was stationary. There was recall on this problem for camry's and i believe this wasn't fixed on mine.

Car stalls sometimes but hesitate every time i drive on streets with low speed limit. While accelerating from a stop sign or slow traffic flow, car hesitates for 2-3 seconds and then its fine. But this happens every time. On highway speed, it doesn't hesitate or stall unless i come to a stop and then try to accelerate.

Ever since i purchased this car in 2014, intermittently but frequently -- when i am paused with foot on brake, for example sitting in left turn lane or in freeway on-ramp waiting for a break in traffic; when traffic opens up and i can go, i step on the gas and the car barely responds; moves forward very slowly; rpms very low; camry is in no hurry and the break in traffic is rapidly closing; after 0.5 to 1.5 second delay always gets me nervous;i stomp on the gas and finally camry rpms increase, she downshifts and at last i take off but by this time i have almost been hit by somebody because the camry cannot get out of its own way.complained to toyota dealer three times but they never found anything wrong. This week took it to independent mechanic who looked it up online and discovered hundreds of similar complaints; he told me that there is an aftermarket fix for this (apexi p/n 417-a021 for $65 at www.apexi-usa.com) and suggested i notify nhtsa and take this information to my toyota dealer and demand repair. This is not my imagination; this is known defect, reported by many owners, dangerous, and repairable.

Replaced the torque converter before 57,000. According the the service ad visor this was a problem that toyota knew about and never issue a recall. My car vin was on a list.i was driving on a highway at 60 miles and notice the odometer won't move.it won't accelerate over 60 mph.the dealer change the torque converter but still having problems. The dealer won't give me a copy of the repair.

The contact owns a 2014 toyota camry. The contact stated that the vehicle hesitated mainly when idling in traffic. The contact was concerned that a crash could occur. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to stone mountain toyota (4400 stone mountain hwy, lilburn, ga 30047, (770) 736-0030) where it was diagnosed that the torque converter needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred later during the week. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and did not assist. The failure mileage was 111,000.

When accelerating to make a left turn vehicle will sometimes move about 10 feet and then hesitate for 1 to 2 seconds. This is very dangerous when car stops in middle of the road. This is an accident waiting to happen.i have taken car to dealer twice and they say if you don't come to a complete stop the car thinks it is in third gear and computer has to figure out what to do.this is not good because you do not always come to a complete stop. .....updated 03-03-15 updated 9/21/2017

I was traveling on a freeway at approximately 60 mph.the vehicle abruptly lost power when i "stepped on the accelerator" to compensate for a slight upgrade on the freeway, and subsequently slowed to approximately 20 mph, forcing me to pull onto the shoulder and stop the vehicle.the vehicle idled normally while parked on the shoulder; however, the vehicle had no power, would not accelerate above 20-25 mph, and forced slow travel on the shoulder of the road in an attempt to reach the nearest off-ramp..i was forced to travel along the shoulder of the freeway at approximately 20 mph for two or three miles. Each time i attempted to "step on the gas" while traveling of the shoulder of the freeway, the engine would "stumble", appear to lose power, and force me to let up on the "gas."after traveling on the shoulder of the freeway for two to three miles, the vehicle abruptly regained power and allowed me to resume freeway travel at 55-60 mph.prior to the 24 august, 2014, incident on the freeway, the vehicle momentarily lost power when accelerating on a freeway on-ramp; however, the problem was only a momentary event that corrected itself in a few seconds.

Sudden unintended acceleration in 2014 toyota camry.incident occurred saturday october 15, 2016 in corinth, texas.approximately 5:20pm.weather was sunny and clear.road conditions clear and dry.outside air temperature approximately 80f.driving 30mph approaching an intersection.we have the red light.brakes applied.brake pedal goes to the floor - no brakes at all.immediately the engine revs up to very high rpm and unintentional, out-of-control acceleration takes place.the car goes through the intersection against the red light.no cross-traffic or otherwise there could have been a serious crash.the car is accelerating on its own.the transmission is aggressively moved into the "park" position.the car stops.braking action returns.the engine continues to run however the rpm returns to normal.the car is cautiously driven at 35 - 40mph to local toyota dealer - toyota of denton, texas.if the car approaches 50mph the engine begins to rev up to high rpm however braking action remains normal.this incident has left the owners with no confidence in toyota.the car is not trustworthy.even if the service technicians say the car is good to go, would you allow your family members to drive this car?no way.and with toyota's reputation over the last 10 years with handling the sudden unintended acceleration problems would you trust this car?no way.we want to be done with toyota.the car needs to be sent to the junkyard.and we want the purchase-money loan cancelled and our down payment back.and we will go to another car manufacturer.

Engine shuts off when stopped at light. Depress the accelerator and the car hesitates and rapidly accelerates. This in an intermittent problem that started about 34,000 miles. Every time i've taken it to the dealer, they are unable to duplicate the issue. Extremely frustrating and sometimes dangerous.

Having acceleration issues with my 2014 toyota camry se.the transmission hesitates and seems to lose power when accelerating. Whether i drive in town or freeway (i only commute 11 miles to work). This is especially problematic and downright scary when making left turns at intersections or changing lanes. I press on the gas and there is a significant delay.

But this happens every time. On highway speed, it doesn't hesitate or stall unless i come to a stop and then try to accelerate.

The contact owns a 2014 toyota camry. While driving approximately 40 mph, the rpms decreased and the accelerator pedal failed to increase the speed of the vehicle. The vehicle eventually came to a complete stop, but did not stall. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure recurred on several occasions. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 2,000.updated 03/04/15*ljupdated 9/12/2017

Having acceleration trouble with my 2014 toyotacamrymade a right turn and try to accelerate but the engine did not go the car stole let go of the accelerator and try again and the car finally accelerated really scary at the dealer now !but they have not been able to duplicate the problem .

A couple of months ago, i noticed a musty smell coming from my car. I realized that it may be due to the heating/cooling vents, and a quick search revealed that this problem was part of a class action lawsuit on behalf of toyota camry drivers. I fear my vehicle has the same faulty system. I replaced the cabin air filter and sprayed ozium cleaner into the intake, but this only solved the problem for a few days.

The vehicle intermittently hesitates (stalls) at starts and at other times as well. We have notified toyota of this situation twice. At first this was just a nuisance (shorter hesitations), but now it is happening more frequently and the hesitations are longer leaving us in more precarious situations. When we arrived today i explained the hesitation problem. Some of xxx statements were rather troubling to me:(1) "this is a new system. There is no longer a wire and throttle. You need to learn to re-drive with it."(2) "though we have equipped all toyotas with this new system, this hesitation problemis predominately in camrys."(3) "i have a 15 toyota avalon and i have been waiting for it to happen to me. It has not happened yet."(4) "if the computer engine light is not on, then your car is operating within spec. There is nothing wrong with your system."(5) "new camrys have a lot computers and you need to allow all the interfaces of the all the computers in the vehicle to communicate with one another. This causes some delay."these statements were stated before (1, 2, 4) and after (1, 2, 3, 4, 5) the car was inspected.i told xxx repeatedly that this was our second visit to germain to report the problem and that this hesitation may cause us to have an accident. Xxx kept insisting that it was not toyota's / computer's fault, that we just needed to learn to re-drive the car.i disagree that "if the computer engine light is not on, then your car is operating within specs."toyota needs to acknowledge that computers can break, be loaded with improper information, be set up incorrectly, etc. Something is causing this hesitation "primarily" in camrys! in our opinion, all toyota camrys with this "new system" should be recalled and this situation addressed immediately. We are hoping that toyota will do the right thing for all camry owners.

Car does not always accelerate like it should when taking off it has to built up speed which is really dangerous entering highway it lags then pick up speed.

I drivea 2014 toyota camry se and i am experiencing an excessive oil consumption , i am using always a syntactic oil but it does not last long time .the reason i am writing about this issues is because yesterday i was driving ( 50 m/h) and the engine shut off and the oil light come on , i was lucky no one was driving behind me . I took my car to a shop today and they told me that many toyota engine has this problem .

When accelerating from a stop the vehicle will sometimes move about 10 feet and then hesitate for about 1 to 2 seconds. It will then accelerate normally. One time the vehicle accelerated to about 20 mph and then the engine rpm returned to idle. The accelerator was pushed to the floor and the rpm remained at idle. The accelerator was released and pushed down again. The vehicle accelerated normally. This happened only one time. The intermittent hesitation is very dangerous when trying to cross a busy intersection when the cross traffic is uncontrolled. The vehicle was taken to the dealership for the problem. The technician could not duplicate the condition. The u760e torque converter shudder recall upgrade was performed. This did not fix the problem. The service advisor said that the technician said that some transmission hesitation was normal. The service advisor also said there had been other complaints about this condition. This condition is dangerous and not normal.

The contact owns a 2014 toyota camry. While driving 40 mph,the vehicle began shuddering and would not accelerate when depressing the accelerator pedal. Eventually, the vehicle resumed normal operation. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired; however, the contact believed that the failure was due to a faulty torque converter. The manufacturer and dealer were not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 109,000.

There was a lot of noise coming from the driver side of the car, and it began shuddering and would not accelerate when pressing the accelerator pedal. I've been nervous about driving on the interstate and pray it doesn't keep happening. Anyway, the car was inspected on october 18 2019, i was told there is a problem with r&r transmission for torque converter needs to be replaced and replace rear main seal. Unfortunately, i don't have $3,000 to fix this problem.

The contact owns a 2014 toyota camry. The contact stated while driving at speeds exceeding 20 mph, the vehicle would not properly accelerate while depressing the accelerator pedal. Occasionally, the vehicle would lose motive power. The cause of the failure was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer and local dealer were not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 52,000.

I seen that someone was having a problem with the car feeling like the car would feel like it was braking when they pressed on the gas. I had this problem with my camry and found out that toyota was trying to fix there sudden accelerationproblem. They put something in the brake system that stop the car from accelerating. So, i had a problem having my left foot touching the brake pedal and by touching the brake pedal it would slow the car and stop it from accelerating.i just stopped touching the brake and did not have the problem again.try excellerating then touch the brake pedal slightly while still excellerating and see if this slows the car from excellerating.that might solve your problem.

At times at the first start-up in the morning, and during the day following the vehicle sitting for couple hours (some times less and at other times longer periods), the engine produces a rattling or tapping noise for two or three seconds then it goes away. Often, after an immediate shut-off and restart, the engine produces the same noise for couple seconds then it stops. It's easy to miss the noise if the radio is on or the surrounding is noisy.

Check engine light came on at 9,195 miles. All lights go off when i turn it on except for check engine light.

After coming to a stop at a red light on a four lane highway, when the light turned green, the2014 toyota camry would not move forward for about 5 sec. The second incident occurred on the same day. When attempting a left turn across traffic, the car stalled again for about 3 seconds.it was a rental from hertz and was exchanged for another auto.

In june 2014 i bought a 2014.5 camry brand new. During the first week i drove it the accelerator would not speed up after pressing down & hesitated as well trying to catch up. I reported this to toyota of orlando & was informed it was learning my driving techniques after a test drive. The report was never documented by the service department & i had to identify who drove me for the problem i reported to prove i actually reported it. It was stated he just forgot. This kept happening very frequently & after another driver randomly drove my car & asked what was wrong i immediately took it in again nov 27,2014. They did nothing.i was refused to be seen after scheduling an appointment with toyota of clermont, fl & they heard of my problem. The problem persisted. December 28, 2014 as i was driving with people in my car, the engine cut off at 55 mph. I pressed the accelerator all the way down & it continued to decline. This was reported the next morning. I was told to park my car because everyone was on vacation & not to drive it. They would not rent a car for me in the meantime. Once i was able to be seen it could not be duplicated. This happened again with my children in january 2015 & was also recorded by a passenger riding with me. After that occasion every signal light came on. I took it back to a different toyota of central florida dealer & reported the problem & the mechanic stated nobody from toyota orlando attempted to contact or call the service tech line to find the problem. They added a code to fix it and i left. After 1000 miles of driving the hesitation started again & also the gears could be felt changing by the mechanic who test drove it with me. The toyota dealership at central florida gave me a repair order & then a totally different repair order to corporate. I've written the manufacturer demanding my money back & they constantly give me false information. My job was lost due to no reliable transportation and i'm still waiting to go to a lemon law hearing that will hopefully be scheduled soon.

My car gets stuck at 40 mph when pressing on gas i have been taking it back and forth to dealer since i purchased it and they can find nothing wrong

We purchased a certified used 2014.5 toyota camry from baxter toyota in april 2014.the engine has always run a bit rough and we had it checked by baxters service department several times and were told that "that was normal for that particular year, however, with the 2020 recall on the fuel pump issue it sounds like we may have the same problem and would appreciate if we could at least have our fuel pump check out in accordance with the recall.

When car was completely stopped at a stop sign, car made a loud noise and started shaking. Then car accelerated on its own. Brakes locked. Car wouldn't stop in neutral or in park gear. It caused an accident by rear ending the car in front of me. Car accelerated very quickly and steering wheel locked as well. Passenger in car heard the noise too. The car accelerated abruptly on its own.

Car is stopped on a slight incline with the transmission in drive, a/c is on. Upon releasing brake before placing foot on gas the car will roll backwards.the engine rpm measured at dealer was 640 to 670.a request to increase idle rpm to 700/750 was denied.the answer was confirmed by dealer that rpm is not adjustable.my concern is the possibility of hitting the car behind me or hitting a pedestrian that is between me and the car behind me.

When accelerating from a stop the vehicle will sometimes move about 10 feet and hesitate for 1 to 2 seconds.it is very dangerous when turning left at an intersection with on coming cars. It is infrequent and you never know when it will happen. It is an accident waiting to happen. It happened on friday 2/6/15 with my grandkids in the car.i had the car to dealer on12/30/2014 and they said they couldn't find anything wrong but car continues to do this.

Takata recall when i press on gas engine is vibration and it's not moving. The front just don't feel right

The toyota camry 2014 is designed so that you may take your 'key fob' and leave the car withoutputting it in parkturning off the motorputting the parking brake onhow stupid is this!you then have a google self driving car without you in it.you could even run over yourself.

My car hesitates often. Mostly when i am stopped at an intersection about to turn left, it hesitates right when i'm about to turn. It hesitates for approx 1-2 secs. Unsure why. But i do loose power and concerned for my safety. I only have 15k miles

When pressing the gas pedal to accelerate the camry is experiencing hesitation and seems to wait 5-10 seconds before picking up speed. I experienced this when accelerating from 30-40mph when preparing to merge into highway traffic. Felt very dangerous.

Pulled into my driveway, foot on brake speed 10mph.slowing to stop when vehicle started to accelerate at a high rate by itself.i put the vehicle into neutral and applied full brakes, vehicle came to stop. Toyota needs to really look into this problem. I will be calling toyota on monday 7/28/2014 to report my problem.updated 4/8/2015

The contact owns a 2014 toyota camry. While pulling into a parking space at 3 mph, the engine revved without warning. The contact stabilized the vehicle by depressing the brake pedal. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer who inspected the vehicle, but was unable to locate or duplicate the failure. The failure did not recur. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 8,400. Updated 01/12/16*lj; updated 04/13/18

Engine has low (rpm) 650-670 when stopped with brake applied on slight inclinewhen brake is released car rolls backward before gas can be applied. The car directly behind me if too close, can be hit by my car rolling backwardsidle rpm should be increased too 750-800 to rectify this problemtoyota said they can not adjust the idle rpm.

Hesitation between first and second gear, sputtering feeling

When starting vehicle and turning on a/c a very foul odor of mildew and mold comes from the vents. We have taken it back to the dealership for a cleaning and replaced the filter with a carbon one at the dealership at our expense. This did not fix the issue. We follow instructions of running ac in non recirculating mode to no avail. Toyota does not seen to want to take ownership of the issue. I am concerned of our health from inhaling these mold spores and bacteria.

Upon acceleration after a start into a traffic lane the engine stalled.the engine did not stop, it just stalled until the speed dropped to about 5 mph then started to accelerate normally.this incident happened two days after purchase of the vehicle. This problem has continued almost every time i operate the vehicle and cannot be predicted.sometimes after slowing from about 45 mph to about 20 mph and re-accelerate, it stalls for about 2 seconds no matter what you do.it has been happening now since purchase june 11, 2014.it has almost caused an accident several time due to this stalling when entering traffic and other cars are effected.i have contacted toyota customer service and was told that problem never appeared before.they made an appointment with toyota dealer for inspection.licensed toyota dealer in washington, nc keptthis vehicle two days and was unable to find the problem.i have contacted toyota customer service three time and am told each time they no idea what the problem could be and just keep taking it in for inspection.selling dealer, toyota of new bern, new bern, nc did not want to even discuss what i could do.their customer relations manager will not now return my calls.again today, it stalled and would not take the gas until it almost stopped in traffic from 30 mph down to 5 mph.i pulled to the shoulder of the highway out of the way of traffic, it then took the gas again.it is like, what i call "vapor lock".toyota has assigned case # 1406180890 to my complaint.i consider this a serious defect that could cause me injury after being hit by an approaching vehicle as i attempt to enter traffic as the vehicle stall. This stalling has happened dozens of time since purchase and the current miles is 2,524.

There is something seriously wrong with this vehicle's air conditioning system.it has been omitting a foul, moldy, mildewy, bad bo (body odor), musty, sour smell since only owning the vehicle for less than half a year.this is a huge safety/health issue & needs to be remedied asap.i myself have allergies & the smell blowing out from the vents on a daily basis is causing me to be very sick.i have taken the vehicle into the dealership several times & there is no permanent fix.it is a recurrent problem with this manufacturer's vehicles & they have not bothered to address or remedy the problem.there are many other owners with the same vehicle who are also experiencing the same problems.

2014 toyota camry. Consumer writes in regards to dissatisfaction with the voice recognition function. *ldthe consumer stated the voice recognition function does not register the correct name when making a phone call.

The radio touchscreen is partially inoperative. Because of this, i can't pair my cell phone to my car. This means that i can't use my cell phone hands free. This is a safety issue. This defect is very common. Toyota has a technical service bulletin about it (tsb 0172-16). Toyota told me that the whole radio touchscreen assembly needs to be replaced. The cost quoted is $1400. Because this is a safety issue there should be a recall and toyota should fix this at no cost.

Iphone 11 will not sync with bluetooth in camry. Apple and toyota blame each other but it has worked perfectly on my previous iphones. Creates serious safety issue due to no handsfree availability.

After 3 days i finally got around to looking for the trunk lock - i.e . The key lockfeature that disables the trunk release next to the driver. Only there isn't one!how could this be? my recently traded 2003 honda and older honda's i've owned all had this feature - i assumed toyota did too - adetail that didn't loom large when initially reviewing the car because i assumed it had one.so after research and much to my dismay (i returned a perfect 2014 rav4 because i felt "exposed" with items in the interior luggage area) i now find this vehicle also "exposes" me to potential loss because i cannot secure my personal items.i am not the first to comment to this flaw and toyota certainly has had time to correct the issue (2 yrs)but apparently decided not to.toyota should correct this flaw as soon as possible - the best selling car in americacan be a thief's best too.

The contact owns a 2014 toyota camry. When the air conditioner was acivated, an abnormal mold odor emitted into the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer.the technician diagnosed that bugs clogged the drain tube. As a result, the bugs had to be removed and the system needed to be drained and cleaned out. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred numerous times. The approximate failure mileage was 23,000.

The manufacturer was not notified of the failures. The approximate failure mileage was 103,000.

Car in motion on curve in city street. Pushed rear window defrost button. Radio went off. Headlights went off. Steering very hard to use. Electric power steering (eps) dash indicator light came on. Within 2 seconds all returned to normal. This occurred two times.

The fog light at the bottom of the bumper caught on fire. The fireman stated the have never seen that before. He also stated it was an electrical problem. For me too report it to toyota

Camry had been sitting idle (off) in garage for several hours, with ignition off and keys removed. Heard a slight humming noise coming from lower rear of car. Fuel pump had turned on, not commanded, during this timeframe and was running, no fuel leaks noted. Cycled ignition switch on and off, fuel pump then turned off. This could be a fire hazard.

This car has a reoccurring problem, it stalls whenattempting to accelerate from a low speed (10 to15 mph) to merge into traffic flow. This problem happened 5 or 6 times in the first 6 months of service. We returned it to the dealership and reported the problem. They found no cause for the problem at that time. Since that time the car has stalled at least 4 more times. We will return to the dealership sept. 8th to try to get the problem resolved. On at least 2 of the stalling things it nearly caused serious collisions. I looked on your data base and found other instances of the camry stalling with no resolution provide by toyota or the selling dealership. Please look into this as there is a great potential for serious injury.

Camry shudders badly at speeds between 25-40 mph when shifting gears in automatic transmission. Toyota has a tsb on this shudder but not my vechicle for some reason. During car shudders and heisitates making it feel unsafe.

I have experienced a hesitation on my 2014 toyota camry from the very beginning. Service department said it was down shifting - it isn't. My car hesitates from a complete stop, or while trying to accelerate while driving (merging onto a hwy or trying to pass a vehicle). This happens at any speed. I never know when it will happen. Very dangerous!

At time when you press the accelerator the engine will not respond, then it jumps and takes off very fast. I think it is dangerous when changing lane, coming on a ramp into the interstate or other fast moving lanes. Both not moving and/or jumping on the traffic. I was told it was a computer problem and cannot be tuned?

Toyota unintended acceleration. When stopping at exit from parking lot car suddenly and powerfully acceleratedpressed hard on brake and turned off ignition to stop itsame thinghappened-my driveway 15 minutes later.

When pressing the gas pedal to accelerate the camry is experiencing hesitation and seems to wait 5-10 seconds before picking up speed. I experienced this when accelerating from 30-40mph when preparing to merge into highway traffic. Felt very dangerous.

While driving (doesn't matter the speed) my car will suddenly lose power and want to stall, like it's not getting any gas.stepping on gas pedal does no good. Then it will suddenly kick back in and drive normal untill the next time it feels like doing it. The problem doesn't happen every day, just never know when it will happen.pretty scary when your on the interstate doing 65mph and your car wants to stall in middle of heavy traffic.i took my car to toyota dealer, they said they could find nothing wrong, that doesn't change the fact that this stalling problem is happening.

Fuel filler neck leaks during fueling.

Takata recall when i press on gas engine is vibration and it's not moving. The front just don't feel right

When i accelerate, hesitation and stalling occur.feels as if the transmission is slipping.it interferes with my driving severely.

While slowly pulling into a parking place, car suddenly accelerated. Applied the brakes, but they did not work. Crashed into a bush and the side of the building where i work. Put car in neutral and applied brakes again..then put it in park. Airbags did not deploy and there is approx. $1,000 damage to front fender and headlight on drivers side. Am leasing this car and lease is up in under 90 days. I want to trade this immediately but want to report issues with this car so that toyota will fix it before someone else gets it.

Having acceleration issues with my 2014 toyota camry.the transmission hesitates and seems to lose power when accelerating. Whether i drive on local roads or the highway. It keeps happening. I called the dealership today and reported it and they say it is a common issue reported by consumer and schedule me to bring it in next wednesday however i expressed my deep concern for my safety and my family.

Having acceleration trouble with my 2014 toyotacamrymade a right turn and try to accelerate but the engine did not go the car stole let go of the accelerator and try again and the car finally accelerated really scary at the dealer now !but they have not been able to duplicate the problem .

The engine 'stalls' or 'hesitates' when going into motion from a stopped or slow position, as in pulling out into traffic or turning on a side road. It is sporadic so i never know when it is going to happen. It has almost caused accidents on several occasions since the vehicle 'stops' instead of going faster. I have to take my foot off the gas and pat the gas a few times to get it moving again. This has been reported several times to my toyota dealership and they say everything is running correctly according to the computer. They suggested i bring it in when it happens, which i did several times, but since it is sporadic, it didn't happen for them. They keep saying there is nothing wrong. The mechanics shrug and say they have not heard of anyone else with this issue, but from reading this, i am not the only one. When an accident happens, let it be known now that i have made it public that there is indeed a problem with the car that they need to address. The car has been happening ever since i bought it new and happens several times a month to this day.

New car purchase. 40 year buyer of toyota camry vehicles. Apparently toyota discontinued a key trunk locking feature included in all previous years and models of toyota. They provide a "valet key" which keeps valets out of the glove box but not out of the trunk as was the case with allprevious valet keys provided with my previous 3 camry's and 2 corollas. Toyota dealer advise me that i could get a key locking trunk on the avalon a much more expensive vehicle. He also suggested i could get another manufacturers car. Honda has key locking trunks.contact with toyota corporation of america resulted in a suggestion that i not store valuable in the trunk or to remove all valuables from the trunk while traveling.since the trunk release can be triggered by anyone sitting in the driver seat, the trunk can fly open while the vehicle inmotion allowing the contents to be blown out of the trunk an into the path of following vehicles. This occurred once when i attempted to pick up a kerchief that fell to the floor while driving. The kerchief caught on the release ant the trunk popped open. Fortunately there was nothing in the trunk. The trunk did block my rear view until i could safely move to the shoulder of the road to close it.toyota has admitted that the no key lock trunk was a design error and my concern would be forwarded tosome department or other for inclusion in their future designs?

The contact owns a 2014 toyota camry. The contact stated that the trunk strut failed to keep the trunk open due to it being fractured. The failure recurred continuously. The vehicle was then taken to the dealer who stated that toyota had chronic failures with the vehicles and that the rod assemblies needed to be replaced. The dealer stated that the fracture was due to the contact's upkeep of the trunk; however, the contact stated that he rarely used the trunk. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. First time i had a problem was may 24, 2015.since then it has happened numerous times.the car hesitates when accelerating.it happens randomly; but have noticed since it has gotten hotter, it has been happening almost every day.it happens when trying to accelerate to get on the freeway, or after stopping and accelerating.it doesn't want to go when i step on the gas.it hesitates and it is a little frightening.it was recalled by the dealer one time, but whatever they did, it didn't fix this problem.the car only has 15,000 miles.i am concerned that as it gets older, the problem may get worse.i had a 2005 camry for 9 years and never had this problem.i had read that numerous other camry owners are having the same problem.toyota needs to look into this problem as it is a safety concern--especially while driving on the freeway or driving through an intersection.i've always loved my camry and it disappoints me to have this accelerating problem.it is a danger to me and other drivers.this happens both after being stopped at a light and also when driving about 40 mph on a city street or highway and freeway.

Car experiencing shuddering @ sppeds of 25 to 50 mph. Toyota states recall was not for this specific model. Problem use to be intermittent now is continuous and the shuddering is harder than before. After having toyota check it multiple times they state it is the torque converter but they refuse to honor the warranty that applied to the car at the time.

The vehicle loses power at 20 mph and shudders between 40 and 50 mph under light and normal acceleration. During fast acceleration, this does not happen. The vehicle has 131,186 miles driven.

During acceleration between 30 - 50 mph, the vehicles transmission appears to slip and not engage the gear. After a second or two the vehicle engages the gear and continues on as if nothing occurred.

When im doing a light acceleration from 20 to 50 mph there is a shuddering vibration from the transmission that vibrates the car. I have to come off of the accelerator pedal and press harder just to stop the shudder and vibration. My airbag light is on and stays on constantly.

Transmission shutters on low speeds at 100k miles, should not be happening with a toyota

Frequent hesitation in acceleration after slowing down and then re-accelerating.also hesitates after turning or entering on a highway on-ramp.have reported problem numerous times to dealer and have been told no problem can be detected. This is a safety issue and needs to be addressed, as i have been nearly rear-ended several times.

As i drove, i have noticed the delay in acceleration. Despite of me stepping on the gas to speed up to avoid any accident, the vehicle refused to speed up instantly. This has occured when the vehicle is new and my vehicle was brand new at the time of my purchase. Numerous hesitations occured on highway and off highway. It also occured from stop signs and making turns.

Toyota diagnosed torque converter needs to be replaced. There's a recall on torque converter for 2012, 2013, & 2014 of my make & model however they do not include my vin in this recall. I'm requesting it should be included in the recall because it falls under my year, make & model.

Torque converter shudders under light throttle between 25-60mph.replaced torque converter twice and transmission once and vehicle still shudders.this is a horrible safety issue, as it will shudder on expressway on ramps instead of accelerating as appropriate.software update for some 12-14 camrys but none available for my vin. Vehicle has 13,000 miles and problem started at 9,000 miles and is getting worse.

While going down hill the transmission will downshift on it's own to lower gears and speed. While on the highway when trying to accelerate from a slower speed the transmission slams into gear. This has been going on for several years. The dealer said they can't get it to do it, and that there are no codes. It's is especially noticeable when you slow down then try to accelerate. It's now happening more frequently.

The contact owns a 2014 toyota camry. The contact stated that while driving at 65 mph, the contact depressed the accelerator pedal which failed to engage correctly. The contact stated that the vehicle shifted into 1st gear with the abs warning light illuminated. The contact managed to veer to the shoulder of the road, turn the vehicle off and back on and the which resumed to driving as designed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer (toyota of riverside 7870 indiana ave, riverside, ca 92504 (951) 687-1622) where it was diagnosed however, the technician was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure recurred. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 170,000.

My car once i get to 20-25 mph it starts to jerk badly and then it stops. Then it jerks more once i get between 45-55 mph it's been going on for quite sometime now. I contacted toyota and they said it's the transmission shudder. I asked about the recall as i found it online and i was told if my car is out of warranty i would have to pay out of pocket. I can't pay this $1600 and still pay my car note i'm on disability at the moment due to a transplant. I think this is very unfair. I also don't want anyone to run into me on the road i'm scared everytime i pull off in traffic that the car won't switch gears properly and someone may hit me from behind with my kids in the vehicle. Please help

I started noticing the problem a couple months afteri bought the vehicle, it hesitates and shakes hard upon acceleration. The car was recalled for torque inverter repair. The problem still persisted. Took back to the dealer two more times, but they insisted that they can't duplicate my concern. The car shakes hard when driving at 20-30 m/h and most of the time at 40-50 m/h.it is a safety issue on the hwy as it doesn'taccelerate fast enough to keep up with the speed limit.the problem has not been resolved.

The contact owns a 2014 toyota camry. While attempting to accelerate from a stop, the vehicle would not move after being placed in gear. The vehicle would rev high as if it were in neutral. The vehicle was on the streets and highwaysat speeds of 30 to 50 mph.the 2014 camry has an abrupt deacceleration and shudder causing other vehicles following behind me to apply sudden brakes that can cause accidents and injuries to drivers. Prior to purchasing, i contacted richardson tx dealership and provided vin and mileage 164k to service adviser.service adviser said no problem, toyota will cover the torque converter replacement under warranty enhancement.i purchased the vehicle since i was advised it was covered.i brought the car to the dealership for the repair and the dealership said they would not repair the vehicle due to the mileage being over 150,000 miles.i contacted corporate office via phone. Candy, the toyota representative views my profile on toyota.com and confirms vin and mileage and states it is covered and calls dealership.dealership tells candy it will not cover the repair cost and corporate will need to absorb the cost.candy escalates problem to customer relations manager, jonathon.i contacted the toyota corporate supervisor, monique via phone.monique asks for cost of repairs from dealership 'before approving anything.'jonathon, the customer relations manager provides the cost to corporate.then toyota corporate supervisor, monique denies cost to repair the vehicle.several days and phone calls and misleading information from dealership and corporate and now i am stuck with a 2014 camry xle requiring transmission replacement after corporate and dealership personnels provided wrong information.the previous owner was not aware of the warranty enhancement repair and did not submit the vehicle for repairs prior to my ownership. This torque converter malfunction is well documented.it is a safety concern and should be a recall instead of just a warranty enhancement.

Car feels very sluggish like somebody is breaking all the time when accelerating it does not shift gears correctly. And feels like it is going to stall at times. I told them since the day i got the vehicle brand new off the lot that i felt this i only know what this feels like due to an issue i had my last car which was a nissan armada pathfinder 2004.

Occasional slight transmission shudder when starting from a dead stop.

Dealer replaced worn intermediate shaft noisy and binding steering now ordered and pending replacement of complete steering column under warranty

When i step on the gas at low speed, normally between 30-50mph my car vibrates or shudders. It only does this when i'm trying to maintain those lower speeds, so the pedal is just barely being pressed down. Once i'm on the highway above 50mph i don't have any issues.

Car shakes at low speeds, what's told by dealer that it is a torque converter which is not covered for my car. They wanted to charge me thirty nine hundred. I spent $1,000 for parts and got someone else to do it for $2,000. Now having the same problem reported online by many others and still no recall on these vehicles.

My car jerks while trying to speed up til about 40 mph. I have to take off slow and build up speed to avoid jerking. Once i pass that speed everything is okay until i have to stop at the next light.

Bad transmission keep shaking and shuddering , speed between 20-45 mph

When accelerating from a stop the vehicle will sometimes move about 10 feet and hesitate for 1 to 2 seconds.it is very dangerous when turning left at an intersection with on coming cars. It is infrequent and you never know when it will happen. It is an accident waiting to happen. It happened on friday 2/6/15 with my grandkids in the car.i had the car to dealer on12/30/2014 and they said they couldn't find anything wrong but car continues to do this.

To whom it may concern:we purchased a new 2014 toyota camry from reliable toyota in springfield, mo on march 21, 2014.since that time we have had 3 instances where the vehicle when accelerating from a stopped position would not shift properly.it would race in first gear, once exceeding 4,000 rpm's.my foot was off the accelerator, and i could only use the brake to slow down while it continued to race.in all *3 instances, multiple people were in the car.on two of these occasions it was dangerous for us as traffic came up fast behind us.each time i returned to the dealership and told them what had happened.they tried to duplicate the problem without success.their solution was to sell us a new car, the last time with excessive pressure and followup phone calls.we have had all our service done at reliable toyota and the problem has been documented.i called the toyota customer service center (dispute settlement program) to explain the problem, hoping for some help.they investigated the problem and came back with 'continue working with your dealer re:the problem.'they had no answer when i asked how should this be done if we are in texas or ohio visiting our adult children or when my wife is driving to a friend's home and the transmission races without known cause.their answer, 'continue working with your dealer.'even if it would happen again here in branson, mo, we are 30 miles away fromreliable toyota.i continue to be concerned for our safety and the fear of this happening again where the results could be deadly.*november, 2014 was first.june 4, 2015 was second.july 28, 2015 was last.

I just learned that my toyota was covered under a restricted recall until 10/31/17. My car just recently started showing the same issues with vibration at 35-45mph. I would like this recall to be extended to cover all cars with this known issue.

I have a 2014 toyota camry se with 39000 miles and have been in and out of the toyota dealership regarding a shudder/jitter feeling at steady speeds of 40-55 mph. Even with latest software update i still have the same issue.the field technical specialist drove my car and did not notice anything so i decided to ask the technician to drive in the car with me. Hedid notice a jitter feeling however since he could not make the vehicle jitter multiple times he stated that there was nothing wrong with my vehicle. Since toyota extended the warranty on the torque converter obviously there is a problem however i keep getting the run around. I feel unsafe driving this vehicle on the highway as i'm afraid that the shudder/jitter feeling might cause someone to rear end me.

The torque converter went bad. The car shuddered when changing gears. Especially at low speeds.the car hesitates when accelerating. I had the torque converter replaced two months ago and now the problem is starting all over again. Toyota says that my vin was not part of their recall and the problem and the expense is all mine.

The contact owns a 2014 toyota camry. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 45 mph, the turning signals would malfunctioning periodically. In addition, there was black smoke entering the vehicle from the air vents periodically. The vehicle was taken to family toyota of arlington (1661 wet n wild way, arlington, tx 76011) where they informed the contact that the failures could not be duplicated. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact mentioned that the headlamps failed to operate. The contact stated that the light bulbs in the headlamps were replaced and the headlamps failed to operate. The manufacturer was not notified of the failures. The approximate failure mileage was 103,000.

The car hesitates for about 4 seconds when accelerating.it does not happen every time but rather randomly.it typically happens once a day (2 hours of driving).this is extremely dangerous when trying to get on the freeway or going through an intersection.it happens when driving around 15 to 25 mph.after the hesitation the car takes off very fast. The pattern seems to be if you are accelerating slightly as if to enter an intersection and then you take your foot off the pedal to coast (no brake applied) and then you try to accelerate again to get through the intersection.this has occurred since the first day the car was purchased so it is not a wear issue.i have been in many, many near miss situations.there are many people discussing this issue on the web so it is not just me.i even found one site where a toyota service rep said they see 40 to 50 cars a week with this problem but they keep turning them away saying there is no problem because it is hard to make the problem happen when it is in for service.this is a huge safety issue that needs to be addressed.

My car keeps shuddering while driving between 25 and 50 mph.my vin does not show a recall but theres a lot of 2014 camrys that had this recall.

I been having problems with the transmission torque converter for about 2 years with a check engine light onwhile drivingbetween 25 mi and 55 mi ph, the wheels shake and hesitate to get control , any recalls on that?

At about 45mph there is a slipping or shuttering of what seems like the transmission.i thought it was a tire problem. Had checked. Tires are fine.

The contact owns a 2014 toyota camry. The contact stated while driving approximately 40 mph attempting to accelerate, the vehicle hesitated. The failure recurred multiple times intermittently. The vehicle was taken to a dealer for diagnostic testing. However, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 230. Ma 08/11/15updated 9/7/2017

Car shudders at 45 mph which becomes whooshing sound at 55 mph. Took to dealer, who says it is problem with torque converter. They changed some computer settingswhich made the problem better, but it reappeared 2 weeks later. Now dealer says there's nothing they can do till toyota issues a recall for the transmission. Isuue is that the transmission will fail at some point, putting driver and passenger lives are risk

When accelerating at around 25 mph, the vehicle "shudders" (feels like it is going over rumble strips) and lasts about 3 seconds. Happens anywhere between 25 - 40 mph. Mechanic said its a faulty torque convertor. Mechanic informed me that there was an "enhanced warranty" that was extended for camry's 2012-2014 and i should visit the dealership. I sent car to toyota of turnersville, nj dealership for fix, and they informed me that the warranty enhancement does not involve my vin #. Even though its the year and the issue is happening. I opened a case with toyota headquarters and they closed the case, stating there is nothing they can assist with further. I feel as though this problem originated in 2012, and toyota was still putting bad torque converters into them in 2014, 2 years later and then stating because my vehicle is not affected by the vin, there is nothing they can do for me?i bought this car in 2016, now knowing that it came with an issue identified years earlier by the maker. If this problem was potentially serious enough to a widespread issue that they extended the coverage for 8 years, 150,000 miles, they should be willing to cover anyone with a camry for those 2 years, not just dependent upon a vin #. It should be dependent upon the issue happening with the car, instead of trying to charge innocent folks $3000 for a fix that they caused!

Between 40-55mph at light acceleration the vehicle begins shaking and shuttering while in automatic if switched into manual mode i have not been able to get the problem to occur. 128,000miles on the vehicle. If hard acceleration is applied issue does not seem to occur.

During acceleration from 0 mph between speeds of 10mph and 40mph the vehicle hesitates when changing from 1st to second gear. During this hesitation, the vehicle acts very similar to a manual transmission. After about 2-3 seconds the vehicles transmission engages the gear and acts continues on as if nothing is wrong.

The contact owns a 2014 toyota camry. The contact stated that the vehicle hesitated when accelerating. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The contact stated that the failure was directly related to nhtsa service bulletin number: 10056821(power train). The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The approximate failure mileage was 54,000.

I just learned that my toyota was covered under a restricted recall until 10/31/17. My car just recently started showing the same issues with vibration at 35-45mph. I would like this recall to be extended to cover all cars with this known issue.

The contact owns a 2014 toyota camry. While depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle would suddenly hesitate and pause for approximately four seconds before accelerating anddriving normally. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who was unable to duplicate the failure. The manufacturer was notified. The failure mileage was 6,000.

Intermittentshudder : i experienced shuddering in my vehicle during 25--50 mph speed and shuddering is heavy when i drive uphill roads and in snow. Whenhappens i feltvibration on the gas pedal and slight vibration on steering wheels and car will not move under normal gas pedal press. I took to the dealer under toyota warrantythey replaced torque converter and added couple of pan magnets to collect debris from transmission , but the problem still exist. I informed toyota customer service since then i went to the dealer four more times for the issue but they could not fix the problem.i was told press gas pedal harder when shuddering occurs , but that will lead to an accident and put the driver and passenger harms way. During snow the possibility of accident will be much higher i have to press the gas pedal harder and that will lead to an spinoff and accidents.finally i was told by toyota the issue is not torque converter and i have to drive the way it is.i do not agree with them and i want toyota to recall and fix this shuddering issue before put someone's life in danger. The contact owns a 2014 toyota camry. The contact stated that the transmission warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was previously serviced per an unknown recall by fox toyota of rochester hills (773 s rochester rd, unit b, rochester hills, mi 48307, (248) 656-0400), but the transmission warning indicator illuminated after the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was79,080.

My car stalls then shifts or while driving it will shift gears slowing down then speeding up there is something wrong with the transmition. I am afraid to drive it as it can stall and i could get hit. I see there are a lot of complains on this some issuewhy has it not been recalledmy car is a 2014 camryi take good care of my car. But, i don't think that customers need to be paying for something that is clearly a factory issue i just had my transmition services less that 4 months ago and this started 2 weeks ago what can we as consumers due?? to get this resolved do people have to die to get this issue fixed?

When entering freeway i press on gas peddle to increase speed the car hesitates before it picks up speeds.this can and could cause a serious accident. I have read many reports of this hesitation problem. I think it is time for a recall to fix this problem .thank you

2014 with 83000 milei having issuesthat my carshudder after the second speed 20 mph and up 50/60 milesstarted to do this about a week ago, and now is getting worse oil levels are fine

Torque converter shudder. Toyota claims my vin has no recall, but i have been experiencing a strong shudder under light acceleration at around 30-40 mph. We were never informed of a recall on our vehicle.

When place car in park it rolls then stops.

When i accelerate, hesitation and stalling occur.feels as if the transmission is slipping.it interferes with my driving severely.

2014 toyota camry. Consumer writes in regards to gear shift malfunction. *ldthe consumer stated after stopping when shifting into neutral or park, the gear shifter would hang up internally and shift with a pronounced noise. Updated 05/09/2017

The contact owns a 2014 toyota camry. While driving between 25-50 mph, the vehicle failed to accelerate. When the contact released the accelerator pedal, the vehicle would accelerate normally. When pressure was applied to the accelerator pedal, the vehicle hesitated to accelerate. The contact coasted the vehicle over to the side of the road and powered off the engine. The vehicle was restarted, but the failure recurred. The contact was able to drive home. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or an independent mechanic for diagnostic testing. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 75,000.

Owner of 2014 camry since march 2014.in december 2014 i experience my car having issues every time i will go on reverse it will make a clank noise. The more the car will run the worse the noise got. Finally, i set up time with norwalk toyota dealership to take my car and get it service and have an inspection. I received the results on 1/13/2015 dealership informed me a claim was filed with toyota in regards to this and the engineers came to conclusion of repairing transmission. The claim is still under investigation at this moment but i don't feel safe driving this car. I noticed there is 3 recalls which was informed to me but the dealership has only performed one. Very unsatisfied with this vehicle and with toyota which has not handled the safety precautions that can cause an injury or unsafe of humans driving this make and model.

The contact owns a 2014 toyota camry. While driving 40 mph, the vehicle made a strong vibration. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the torque convertor needed to be preplaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufactuerer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 60,240.

The contact owns a 2014 toyota camry. While driving 25-40 mph, the vehicle vibrated with force; however, when the speed was increased to 45-60 mph, the vibration ceased. The vehicle was taken to don jacobs toyota (5727 south 27th street, milwaukee, wisconsin, (414)-281-3100) where a diagnostic test was performed and a failure code for the transmission torque converter was found. The manufacturer stated that there was a warranty program for the transmission failure; however, the program ended in october of 2017. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 125,000.

I bought this car toyota camry on jan.13,2014 brand new from koon toyota lees burg pike,va..to dayapril.23,2014 at 10.21 am morning. I was trying to park my car lot of senior center,i did not accelerate the car .the car accelerated un intended car become outoff control, speed become very high and crush into curb with high speed and hit the lamp post and another park car, i have passenger my wife her face hit desh board and her knee. I concern about that un intended accelerated, and no air bags deployed? and passenger side safety belt does not work as she have belts on. Toyota company should check safety concern. This brand new car.car is not safe. Completely.

The seat belts get wet every single time its rain both sides the driver and passage side. The condition its to bad the i feel the seat wet too.

Rear passenger seatbelt will not latch.daughter moved to rear dri ver side for crash protection. I inspected the problem on november 30, 2019 and determined that the receiver lock was not catching/holding on to the shoulder strap buckle.

Driver's side seat belt will not buckle and hold in the receiver on the seat. The tech at the dealer got the buckle to told by engaging it into receiver while holding down disconnect button. We were told no recall and we must pay for repair.

My seatbelt will not stay in the slot after i buckle it. It clicks, the light goes out and then it starts sliding out, and the light comes on and the beeping starts. I have to hook it in the slot for the passenger seatbelt to get it to stay. This is while i am driving. It won't stay when not driving. I am having to pay $162 to have what should be an unbreakable part replaced and i want to know if this is happening a lot. I own two older cars, a 97 lincoln and a 90 miata and those seatbelts work fine.

Driver airbag did not work in front end and driver side collision.

With the announcement of seat fabric not meeting flammable standards on 2014 toyota's with heated seats and ordering their dealers to stop selling affected vehicles until they get new seat fabric, i do not feel safe using my heated seats.if toyota can not or will not sell any more vehicles until this issue has been fixed, for the safety and peace of mind of all current owners, this issue must also be addressed, recalled and fixed immediately. I have used this feature daily during this cold winter and will no longer feel safe doing so until it has been fixed.the nhtsa must force a recall of existing vehicles before there is an injury or fire not after one occurs. The heated car seat is a seasonal use feature where the degradation of the material and possible resulting fire may not show up for several seasons. I, personally, have noticed that the heated seat at the high setting becomes very hot where i can feel that it is very uncomfortable through a heavy, winter coat.with the announcement today, i am concerned that this could be a sign of a serious problem.please issue a recall to fix this potential, serious problem.

I originally bought a vehicle from carbone subaru of troy ny on 11/27 2018. (complaint originally submitted december, 2019).the car was a lemon.i finally got a replacement vehicle (with clean carfax) on 12/31/18.on 8/30/19, car was totaled due amount of mold found everywhere in the car, icluding roof and spare tire in trunk.i called carbone subaru several times and was ignored.i finally gotahold of melinda @ lithia motor group hq in oregon.i was told she would call me back within a week.over 3 weeks later and several attempts i got ahold of her.i explained to her i complained about the horrific odor in the car to my salesperson and to a mechanic, and was given an air freshener.i was told that i bought the car in winter, and water is a summer problem, and they would only help me if i bought a 3rd car from them.i now have to follow up with a pulmonary specialist for the next several years to check for mold related health problems.it has also cost $150 in doctor co-pays so far, $500 in insurance deductible, $1,500 for down payment and expenses for having to buy another car after 8 months of owning the 2014 camry.i have several pictures of the mold found in camry, the complete loss statement by insurance, the $20,000+ estimate to remediate the mold, and medical documentation

When i first accelerate from a stopped position & accelerate the vehicle lags and hesitates before it will move forward. I have almost gotten hit by another vehicle more than once because the car wouldn't move fast enough to cut across traffic. September 1, 2017 was the first date i drove the vehicle on the road but it happens to this date as i'm accelerating.

Nhtsa recall # 14v024 indicates an open recall on this vehicle issued jan. 29, 2014 stating this repair should have been completed while in dealer inventory prior to retail delivery.i did not take delivery untilmarch, 2014, and this repair was not completed prior to delivery.the recall further states customer owned vehicles are not covered by this action.since this repair should have been completed prior to my taking delivery, do i have any recourse with this dealer to have the repair completed?

On the highway a rattling noise from the right front indicating something was loose.took to a tire shop to see the problem and as the front tire was removed i noticed that the wheel bearing its almost completely off from the fraction of the vehicle.

I bought this car from suburban toyota. Within a month i started getting severe neck pain.i went to the dealer and complained about it. Dealer checked and suggested everything is alright with the seats. Feb 28th - i waited for another month or so and went for first service around 4,700 miles...again i told the dealer that i can't drive any longer and the issue with the "head rest" need to be fixed.dealer told me that they cannot do anything as they do not see mechanical issue with the seat.feb 28th - as my grievances were not addressed, i called toyota customer support (800) 331-4331 and discussed the issue. The customer support representative registered a complaint but told me that they have not heard any issues related to seat or head rest for camry 2014 model cars.my neck pain is increasing as i drive this car. I suspect that there must be design flaw with this model year camry. I sincerely request you to look into this issue as it would lead to physical disability over a period.

2014 toyota camry.consumer writes in regards to faulty fire retardant seats.the consumer would like to see a recall issued, for the vehicles already sold.

After ap. 45 minutes of highway driving, driver's seat warmer (previously off) turned on and went to high.the only way to stop it was to turn car off and restart a bit later. On the way home, same thing happened to passenger seat.car again was turned off and restarted, but then driver's seat warmed up (but not to high this time). This on an 80 degree day. Dealer does not know how to fix this.

2014 toyota camry xle driver side seat heater stopped working

Just about completely stopped at stop sign at end of street - without warning car accelerated extremely fast, crossed 2-lane street - drove into church parking lot on an incline turned and back across the 2-lane street and my vehicle hit neighbor's truck head on.both cars totalled.had absolutely no control of steering and brakes did not stop the vehicle.police took report - my passenger and i told the same sequence of events as well as a neighbor who saw everything that happened.every single airbag went off.

Car brakes make a horrible grinding noise and car will suddenly turn off as it's running on the road. All the lights on my dash board turn on right before the car shuts off. Luckily i've been able to direct my car to the side of road.took it to my nearest toyota dealership for service. They returned my car in the same condition 4 times. Each time telling me the issue has been resolved and put me on the road again thinking it was fixed till my car turned off again. Luckily i've was very careful. This final time i took it to a different dealership and now they have said they figured it out. I heed a brake booster and actuator possibly brake pedal.costing me a total of 6000.00. I was in shock i've never heard of a car issue like this.

On may 25, 2017, while pulling into parking space at a shopping center, my 2014 toyota camry accelerated out of control thru the parking space without me pressing the gas pedal.i pressed the brakes and it did not stop the car.my car continued to travel at a high rate of speed thru the parking lot embankment and went thru brushes/shrubs which is where the car stopped after it blew a tire and was stopped by the shrubs. Due to the damage under the car it was a total loss.

I was driving from shopping center onto hwy 111 ,as i saw the red truck in front at the intersection. I began to brake ,and notice the vehicle was not slowing down after several attempts to the brakes. Me,and my wife sustain whiplash from hitting a truck from the rear. My wife went to the doctor clinic. Police officer checked the brakes, and confirm that the brakes had gone out.

I attempted to stop my vehicle at the end of a driveway when i saw fast approaching cross traffic.my engine began racing and my brakes failed, carrying my vehicle about 20 feet into the intersection as i helplessly pressed down on the brake pedal. Fast approaching vehicles barely missed me. I barely escaped violent death.

After failing brakes a major impact happened and the airbag did not deploy

Brake problems at 38,000 miles. Per dealer need to pay $1500 for brake booster. This is certified vehicle by toyota. Factory warranty expired at 36000 and toyota certified warranty expired a month ago.

When turning to a highway on-ramp after slowing for the turn then trying to accelerate on the ramp thevehicle would not accelerate. I would have to release and re-apply the accelerator to accelerate. Thedealership they said the brake light switch was out of adjustment causing brakes to take over speed control. They adjusted the brake light switchand problem went away. This is a safety concern because the expectation when on a highway on-rampis that acceleration is going to occur, traffic behind me could not only be iratethatiam notaccelerating(startingaroad rage incident)but it could also cause an accident from the individual behindme not expecting a slow down on the ramp. Toyota made me pay for the repair even though i have andam still covered by the purchased extended warranty and this was a safety concern that was caused by adefault in manufacturing process and nothing i could have done to the vehicle to cause the problem.documentation provided shows what my complaint was to the dealer and what dealer did to fix it withmy personal information redacted.

Toyota unintended acceleration. When stopping at exit from parking lot car suddenly and powerfully acceleratedpressed hard on brake and turned off ignition to stop itsame thinghappened-my driveway 15 minutes later.

Driving down highway at 60mph. Vehicle down the road slowed to enter merchant lot. Applied brake. Something snapped, steering locked, wheels locked, tires kicked out. Total loss of control of the vehicle. Skidded down the road until impacting the other vehicle on the side, pushing it back into traffic and continuing several feet until coming to rest in the ditch about 30 feet from several vehicles in the merchant lot. Tie rod broke. No airbags deployed, though i was told it was because of where my vehicle was hit was why they didn't deploy.

Twice when i had to suddenly hit the brakes, the car did not stop.the second time, the steering locked up completely so i could not steer or stop the vehicle. Eps light came on, stayed on all day until took to dealer who claimed light was not on and nothing wrong with vehicle.

Brakes on this car has always been kind of spongy and brake pedal goes down very far before they engage. One day driving along, i came to a stop light, and as i pressed the brake pedal it seemed to accelerate but stopped just short of the bumper of a police officer. I complained about it to the dealer during warranty but they said the pedal was normal after checking it. Even after changing brake pads and rotors there is still a very spongy feel to the brake pedal which is kind of scary as it goes very low and always has/

The toyota camry 2014 is designed so that you may take your 'key fob' and leave the car withoutputting it in parkturning off the motorputting the parking brake onhow stupid is this!you then have a google self driving car without you in it.you could even run over yourself.

The contact owns a 2014 toyota camry. While driving 10 mph, the contact heard a loud grinding noise. The brakes failed to respond and the abs warning indicator illuminated. Car was parked on a driveway, and, when put in reverse, the car accelerated at high speed for roughly 60 feet until it ran into a hill.then, when put in drive, car accelerated at high speed for roughly 90 feet and ran through heavy vegetation and then into and partially through a garage wall.brakes were applied during the entire incident with no effect.causes of failure are unknown.cost to repair car is about $9000.cost to repair garage, landscaping, and contents are not yet know.

Pulling our 2014 camry into our garage at very low speed when the rubber brake pedal pad came off causing my foot to slide off the pedal resulting in the car striking the step leading into our house.i brought our car back to the toyota dealer where we purchased the vehicle. The service department informed me that this was not their first complaint regarding the rubber pad falling off.the only guidance they offered me was to use "gorilla glue" to render the rubber brake pedal pad more secure. I believe that the ease in which the rubber pad can separate from the brake pedal is a serious safety issue.

The contact owns a 2014 toyota camry. The contact stated that the brake pedal had a rubber piece that was loosely disconnecting while the vehicle was in motion. The contact stated that the rubber piece was deteriorating and was not tightly connected which may cause a failure or potentially a crash. The contact experienced the failure more than four times. The dealer was notified of the failure more than once and a technician was sent from the manufacturer who provided no remedy. The vin was not available. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was not available.

The abs traction and break light came on. You turn can off turn it back on they go off. Then today couldn't get it out of park.

Complete replacement required of both rear wheel bearings, backing plates, brake calipers, pads and rotors, with recommended replacement of tires, on a vehicle with less than 52,000 miles. Because the vehicle is out of warranty, the initial repair estimate was almost $4000.00. The dealer, however, agreed to repair for about $2500.00 (pass through cost of parts).this matter came to light upon hearing a 'screeching' noise when the vehicle was moving - the screeching noise suggesting a wheel bearing was failing.manufacturer alleges replacement is needed due to exposure of these parts to road salt. However, i have owned numerous other vehicles that were exposed to road salt and never experienced such problems.contrary to the manufacturer's allegation, i suspect a design or manufacturing defect in these parts.in fact, about the same time as the above problem, another like vehicle that we own (2017 model with about 15,000 miles) experienced a frozen rear brake caliper (allegedly for the same reason, namely, expose to road salt) that is being replaced under warranty.

When the car starts traction control, abs, and brake lights come on. This locks the shifter ans leaves the car without abs and traction control protection.

Brake light is on when car started. Checked emergency brake on and off. Brake light still on. After driving few feet with light on car stopped. Emergency brakes never engaged originally. Driver rear tire would not rotate. Thank you.[xxx]phone [xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).'

2014 toyota camry.attorney representing consumer writes in regards to vehicle brake failure.the consumer had an accident, due to the brake failure. The vehicle was declared a total loss. The consumer sustained serious injuries.

After failing brakes a major impact happened and the airbag did not deploy

The contact owns a 2014 toyota camry. The contact stated that the brake and accelerator pedals were too close together. As a result, both pedals were depressed simultaneously. The dealer was unable to diagnose the cause of the failure. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The approximate failure mileage was 2,300.

At 59000 miles the transmission torque converter was replaced .shortly after that i noticed the car seems to be all over the road . This has gotten much worst.specially on windy days . Can not take a exit or change lanes with out feeling like the rear end is going to break free . If on the highway and road comes into a curve feels like your going to loose control . I've had several repair shops look at this car . They drove it and experienced it . Wast told how do you drive that car. Contacted toyota several times do have a file number. Requesting to meet a rep at anylocal dealer to test drive this car . Was told they don't do that. Was told to take it back to dealer who did transmission if related repair under warranty . If not i'm liable for diagnosis charges.i refused .also note that i'm on set number 4 of tires 2 sets of michelin andset of snows.ive be at replaced tires on any car like this car . I have found several other similar complaints.please reference nhtsa i'd #10966229some e needs to look into this before someone gets hurt or worst.

The contact owns a 2014 toyota camry. The contact stated that the electronic power assist indicator illuminated while driving. While reversing, the steering wheel became difficult to control and made a squeaking noise. The contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic and was informed to visit a dealer. The manufacturer informed the contact that the vehicle was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 15v144000 (steering). The dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 201,000.

Steering wheel does not return to center after right turns every time.it happens in wet or dry conditions.it happens at any speed and any angle of turn. The problem is too intermittent to reproduce.there is a pop or grind in the steering wheel while ina turn and forcing the wheel back to center. The pop happens in left or right turns after the wheel has turned fully in either direction and has to be forced to return to center.the pop is also intermittent and cannot be reproduced on demand.both problems are becoming more frequent but not enough to reproduce for repair according to toyota of america. The problem also happens in wet or dry condition and any temperature from florida to virginia.

Recently purchased, 2014 se v6 camry with 60miles on it, only 5 weeks old now, i didn't notice the problem until i was on the freeway going about 65+ the first day i bought it, car will not come back to center when turning left or right, i can let go of the steering wheel and it will continue to turn. Feels like im driving on a very rainy/windy day, very flimsy. I would have to constantly correct the car to go straight, brought it in to toyota dealer four times now, had 2 alignments done by toyota, still no help, all they keep telling me is, "thats how the car is designed", after that they tried to tell me it was defective tires, which was not true, i swapped out the tires, still didn't help. So you are telling me a car that does not return to center is normal?? i've seen many complaints about this problem online, shouldn't there be a recall?? very very bad performance, i will not let my mother drive this car anymore because of the safety issues, very dangerous car to drive on the freeway.

Twice when i had to suddenly hit the brakes, the car did not stop.the second time, the steering locked up completely so i could not steer or stop the vehicle. Eps light came on, stayed on all day until took to dealer who claimed light was not on and nothing wrong with vehicle.

Touch screen radio bass control stopped workingwurring noise from steering wheel while i turn wheel in reverse backingpassenger airbag off light is on and won't turn off

I called toyota (customer experience center) to get more detailed recall information related to my make/model vehicle.the recent recall is for the 2014 toyota camry- steering control loss; front lower suspension arm/ball joint.i am a consumer and it is my right to get detailed information on this issue related to my make/model vehicle.the representative from toyota refused to provide me with any information.

Dealer replaced worn intermediate shaft noisy and binding steering now ordered and pending replacement of complete steering column under warranty

The contact owns a 2014 toyota camry. While driving and attempting to make left and right turns, the steering wheel failed to center back. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was determined that nothing was wrong with the steering. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was 7,700.

Car in motion on curve in city street. Pushed rear window defrost button. Radio went off. Headlights went off. Steering very hard to use. Electric power steering (eps) dash indicator light came on. Within 2 seconds all returned to normal. This occurred two times.

The car is like driving on ice at highway speeds. Always trying to keep it centered in my lane . Had it checked at toyota and they said it was just in my head. No it's all wrong and they won't do any more with it . How can i drive it like that? had it aligned , new tires , axleswheel bearings , still drives like on ice . It's in the steering.

I was making a turn out of a fast food restaurant, but when i made the turn the plastic covering over my steering wheel flew off and fell to the ground. I was able to steer and hit the brakes just in time to avoid hitting a parked car. It was difficult to brake since the cover hit the ground and prevented me from moving easily to hit the brake pedal.

Steering system warning showing and have no power, hard time to restart the engine.

Bad quality of the vehicle

While driving on 3/28/2014 i was heading west off of mike padgett highway in augusta ga after i had made all of curves on the on ramp i started to speed up so i could merge in traffic on the 520 bypass when my car veered to the left hitting a concrete barrier i managed to jerk the car back to the right i pulled my car to the side of the road and saw the left front tire and rim was ruined i put the spare tire from the trunk on it when i started to drive forward it made a grinding sound i got back out of my car and saw that the left front tire pointed inward i then got back in the car and carefully got it off of the on ramp to a gas station and called toyota car they sent a tow truck to where i was and towed my car to milton rueben toyotai purchased the 2014 camry on 3/27/2014, the car was added to my policy after the accident and they gave me a run around, i submitted the documents requested immediately and a week later they called, then they told me on the 8 april 2014 and they said that [xxx] would look at it today, she gave me a call and said the body would need to be fixed prior to them looking at the mechanical part of the vehicle.this vehicle had 125 miles, and the body needs to be fixed prior to the alignment.whatdo you recommend that i do? since the accident my left leg and small of my back has been bothering me when i had the accident i didn't think i was hurt but since that time it has gotten worse i tried taking pain pills but it is not getting better . Melting dashboard: the dashboard started melting about two (2) years ago and it continue to get worst. The glare from the shiny dashboard makes it very difficult to see when driving during the day and the sun is in a position that a glare results. Apart from the aesthetics of the dashboard,, the glare creates a dangerous situation that could result in an accident and injuries to driver, passengers and others.

The dash board is melted and very sticky as a result of this it is causing sun glare making it hard for me to see clearly when i'm driving .

There is green paint coming through the white paint on my vehicle.they painted the inside of my car that showed the green paint but not the outside .i reported this in 2015.they recalled my car for a paint recall on my white toyota and when i picked it up and showed them the green paint was still on my car they said it was not covered on the recall.only the inside was covered.

Both sides popped out on the front bumper by the signal lights. I have seen this on other vehicles like mine. This is not from any wrecks just poor work. I have taken it to 3 different dealerships and they say it is not a recall.

Camry had an unintended acceleration in a school parking lot.my wife was parking at the santa clara adult education center on benton ave, santa clara, ca. She was driving in the parking lot and made a right turn into the parking stall. As she approached the concrete stop at the end of the stall, her car went full throttle and started going forward. My wife stepped on the brakes but the car still continued going forward. It went over the concrete stop, went another 6 feet pass the stop, and went over another concrete strip. The 2 concrete stops helped slow the car down, but stepping on the brakes did not help. The car stopped about 5 feet from a building so damage was just to the front bumper and splash guard under the engine.toyota had the vehicle inspected but they couldn't find anything wrong with the car so is not taking responsibility. Since this occurred at a school, i was able to obtain videos of the car from the school. It shows the car entering the parking lot from the street, going through the parking lot, and turning into the parking stall. The video shows the brake lights on going into the parking stall, but there is no footage of the car while it was going over the concrete stops.i'm hoping nhtsa investigates the 2014 camry as there were others on this site with the same problem. Just because toyota can't find the cause doesn't mean there is no problem with the car. Anyone who has taken a car in to a mechanic who can't find the problem would realize this.

I was in a roll over car accident in 11/30/2015.i was side swiped and my car rolled over and slide into in coming traffic.no air bags deployed!i was going about 40 mph.i think the other car was going about the same speed. I have other photos of the accident and car.

The fog light at the bottom of the bumper caught on fire. The fireman stated the have never seen that before. He also stated it was an electrical problem. For me too report it to toyota

First incident was it speeding up and going through garage door. In march, 2015 was incident with foot on brake that the car engine revved up and then surged forward into another car at a fast food drive in. Later that day coming off the interstate, it surged forward when foot on brake, slowing for stop sign at end of exit ramp. Car surged forward and i went through the stop sign and barely missed hitting 2 cars.

First, i don't own toyota camry, but every time i drive following behind it that brake lights (led) are so bright that hurts my eyes and makes my vision blotches for awhile. I believe this is unsafe. I hope our government can investigate this and see if those led used in camry complies safety standard.

My car was t-bone in an intersection, other driver ran a red light, there was extensive damage to the front of the car and passenger side of car,the srs airbags did not deploy and i sustained injury.(classic whip flash)this model car isn't safe,i could have been killed, the srs airbags should have deployed according to the owners manual.toyota representative was of no help at all !!!!!

When i purchased this car i noticed it looked dull, and requested that they wash it again, i was told "oh it a flat finish" once i got all the paper work, taxes etc completed i would see other vehicle & it made me hate my car, it's impossible for me to have a newer car looking worst then a 15 yr old car.i've even had it buffed / waxed, that company stated "the manufacture may have missed the clear cost when finishing this car". Please advise what my option are.

Approaching stop sign, applied brake and engine accelerated and lunged forward.put car in neutral and engine slowed down.with foot still on brake put car back into drive and it accelerated again and lunged forward and hit a truck.this had happened on numerous occasions and we even took car back to dealer to have it checked out and were told nothing was wrong.the first time it happened was a week after we bought the car.i told the salesman about it and he said it was a "safety feature" and there was a sensor in the front of the car and if you got too close to another vehicle, it would make the car stop.

The failure mileage was 3,000.updated 5/12/15

My car developed a vibration in the front end. This occurred especially when turning. I brought it to a mechanic for repair and was told that the front suspension was very near to coming apart - which would have caused a loss of control of the car.this seams very similar to the issue covered under nhtsa recall notice 14v715000, however my vin is not included in the scope of that recall so perhaps that needs to be expanded.

Takata recall , the problem i'm having is windshield visavility ,and the other one is the arm of the right side makes a popping noise it almost sounds like it's going to come off

Toyota send to us safety recall notice for our camry regarding driver side front suspension lower arm .. So i booked day and time with them at fort bend dealer i went and stay there more than 2 h then informed me that the parts need to change and they haven't the part right now !!! come another day !!! i take my car and back to home but actually i am afraid about myself and my kids to this car anymore. They are doesn't care about anything safety or our time or money, finally when i backed to home called them to issue complaint but they put me in hold and no one answer me!

Right front strut leaking oil and top bearing defective. Dealer replaced strut and bearing.clumsy mechanic also dented top right front fender!

Rear suspension bad make bumps in both tires, that cause noisewen runnig,im take to the dealer where i buy to alignment rear wheel but donthelp..tires worst bad.shock donnt showsany leaks, and the brakes im feel dont works properly. Delays in press or something and radio touchy screen don'twork!

I filed several complaints about the tires bouncing and excessive vibration coming from the front end of the vehicle. I was told by the dealer that it was a tire problem, and that i should try 40 lbs. Ofair instead of the recommended 35 lbs. I contacted a local bridgestonedealer and was told not to exceed the recommended pressure. The toyota dealer acknowledged there were a lot of similar complaints and that it was the fault of the tires,.i have 12,000 miles on the car and the front tires are worn out and toyota is refusing to de anything. I believe the problem is caused by the ball joints or front end suspension, but can't get anywhere with toyota.if it's an ongoing tire problem as the dealer says why hasn't it been addressed.if it is a manufacturing defect why hasn't it been addressed.at 50 miles an hour the tires start to bounce and shimmy and the vibration can be felt in the steering wheel. The car feels unsafe at highway speeds.

Gas pedal on occasion fails to move car forward, when it does the auto jumps forward. There is no pattern to this failure. Auto feels like it does not have any suspension.when driving on highway at posted speed limits, auto bounces around turns as if it was going over small speed bumps in the road.we travel on a state highway and every imperfection is felt by all passengers, and can be seen in vibrations noticed in the steering wheel. The dealer has replaced the tires, but, this has not solved the problem, i was told by this dealer there is a problem with the auto, however, we had to leave this dealership before further action could be taken.our new local dealer can not find anything wrong, or says there is nothing wrong.

My car pulled to the left side causing me to have an accident

When driving the left wheel vibrates around 20-40mph, especially in rainy weather and bearing to the left. While accelerating to merge on highway lots of non stop vibration from left wheel.

Since we purchases this car in 2014, we have experienced the gas pedal being pushed to the floor and the car not moving.the toyota service department says we had our foot on the brake and gas pedal at the same time.which is not true.all times the auto was in motion and we stepped on the gas to get up to highway speed.2nd. The driver side rights rough, and when a pot hole is hit with the left wheel it sounds like metal hitting metal.when going into a right turn 65-75 mph the auto feels like it is skipping off the road, to a point it does notfeel safe. Takata recall when i press on gas engine is vibration and it's not moving. The front just don't feel right

I have had a persistent noise in the left front end of this vehicle since shortly after purchasing it. I had to the dealer on 7/3/14 (had been hearing it for some time by then) but they said they could not hear anything. It has gotten worse since then and i do plan to take it back to the dealer again.i did notice that there is an open recall (nhtsa campaign number: 14v715000) for this year/make/model for a possible lower arm malfunction, although my vin does not appear to be included in it at this time.so i just want to get this noted, via this complaint.

The contact owns a 2014 toyota camry. While the vehicle was stationary, the tire pressure monitor (tpm) indicator displayed on the instrument panel. The tpm failed to properly balance the tires. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 51,500. Updated 06/13/17*lj updated 10/12/2017

Bad quality of the vehicle

The touchscreen has completely gone out and you can no longer use touch to access car settings - therefore not being able to change key features on the car. A couple examples would be automatically locking and unlocking the car, and dimming screen brightness for safer driving at night. The screen has gradually gone out over time and officially quit october 2019.

Drivers seat where the controls are located covering plastic broke and not able to snap back in place.also notice this on my mothers 2015 camry as well.

Vehicle have no engine check light. But hesitates n vibrates between 2 and 3 gear.

My vehicle was parked in front of my house and the sunroof exploded/shattered. My car was brand new when i got it a year ago. I'm not sure if it had a defective glass or what. I do recall it was a hot day though. However, how come the sunroof glass is not made out of laminated glass as the windshield. Thank goodness i was not driving at that time. We should definitely have sunroof safety standards.

Weird smell comes out of the air conditioning vents when the ac compressor is activated.the smell indicates mold buildup within the vents.there are many other online forums that mention this problem as well.this is a safety concern due to public health (some people are deathly allergic to mold) and may cause driver impairment as a result.various toyota dealerships in the area offered services to replace the venting system, but that's expensive and not under warranty they say.i am lucky that it's only when i have circulation on with the air conditioner running.i do not notice it with heating the interior as others have mentioned.i feel that this is a growing problem for these model years (2012-2014) of camrys.this smell occurs whether the vehicle is in motion or not, but it does seem to go away when not in circulation mode on the climate controls.

I was driving southbound on us highway 141in wisconsin, just north of the lineville rd exit. I was going the speed limit approx. 70 mph. The temp. Was in the 60s and the sky was overcast with no precip. There was little traffic and i was on a flat stretch of road with no vehicles directly in front or behind. There was no construction and/or road equipment in sight. I had not driven under any structures. Suddenly my sunroof exploded above my head. The sunroof was closed and the interior screen was pulled shut. I did not see any objects or animals, only glass flying in the rearview mirror. It was a terrifying sound, like a shotgun blast. I pulled off at the nearest exit in a towing area and saw that there was a big hole in the glass and shards of shattered glass on top of the interior screen, which had been pulled shut. I called 911 and explained what happened. Two brown county wis. Officers came and looked at the damage and assessed there had not been any kind of gun shot. The officers documented the call. I was forced to drive holding the inside screen with one hand holding it shut, so it would not blow open, for approximately 40 miles to meet my husband and switch cars.i felt very unsafe and was shaken, as i had never experienced anything like this before. I have read, online, that there have been many other similar incidents and i believe it is a toyota manufacturing defect and safety issue. I called toyota and reported the incident but they said my car did not qualify for any current "programs" and it was my responsibility to repair. Fortunately i was not cut by glass, but was badly shaken to the point of feeling nauseated for hours afterwards.

Toyota dealer has failed on 2 occasions to fix a musty ,mold odor coming from the heat/ac vents leaving me with the unpleasant and unhealthful task of breathing this toxic air every day i drive the vehicle.

Got into accident, my front bumper was damaged bad but none of my airbags deployed.

Toyota camry models of 2014 (rav4s also) and after have defective entertainment stereo lcds. The lower half of the lcd stops working and you can not connect phone via bluetooth. Its a big problem while driving. Toyota denies the repair at their cost saying the car is out of warranty. Its just not an isolated situation but its wide spread. Internet forums are filled with this problem. A lot of people are suffered due to this.

Iphone 11 will not sync with bluetooth in camry. Apple and toyota blame each other but it has worked perfectly on my previous iphones. Creates serious safety issue due to no handsfree availability.

First, i don't own toyota camry, but every time i drive following behind it that brake lights (led) are so bright that hurts my eyes and makes my vision blotches for awhile. I believe this is unsafe. I hope our government can investigate this and see if those led used in camry complies safety standard.

Musty smell from a/c . A/c produce air with mold spores

2014 toyota camry. Consumer feels inspections should not be performed on new vehicles the next year. It should be performed every two years. *ta

The side windows housing has melted on both side windows. This is causing obscure vision when turning. Have not gotten into accident and need toyota to fix asap before other get into serious trouble. Spoke to company and they take corporate line on saying that this is not normal and that they need more information but never seek information even when i provide multiple contact info. Would love to share pic.

My car gets stuck at 40 mph when pressing on gas i have been taking it back and forth to dealer since i purchased it and they can find nothing wrong

We bought a brand new 2014 toyota camry, and there's a mold problem in the ac.it smells aweful.the chemical spray they use to fix it doesn't work.when they spray it, it smells even worse for several days, but then it always comes back.it costs $100 each treatment.spent $$ trying other products, but nothing seems to work.very costly and no remedy.

When driving the left wheel vibrates around 20-40mph, especially in rainy weather and bearing to the left. While accelerating to merge on highway lots of non stop vibration from left wheel.

Driving at 50mph when i heard a loud "pop" at first i thought it was a gunshot. I continued to drive only to hear a rattling noise, i slid back the sunroof cover to notice the sunroof had exploded. I contacted toyota usa to no avail, only to be told they have no recalls. I googled the 2014 toyota camry exploding, low and behold there were several other complaints identical to mine!

On 11/5/2016 early afternoon was parking car with foot on brake the car suddenly accelerated without warning and ran into a brick wall and continued to accelerate until moved it into reverse. This happened in lancaster ca. Also had a 2013 camry that did the same thing in lancaster ca.

Mildew smell coming from air vent every time using the ac. Using air refresher gives only temporary solution. The problem is worst in very hot summer day. I have a 2 months newborn who rides the car andi am worried about this health concern.

Ac condenser unit plugs and creates mold and bad smell from vents.mold causes people with allergies to start having reactions.in addition, there is concern that the accumulated water may then leak through a seam in the housing onto the air bag control module potentially resulting in a short circuit of the module. A short circuit may cause the air bags to become disabled or inadvertently deploy.this is similar to 2013 camry model recall. Nhtsa campaign number: 13v442000.i think the recall should extend to 2014 camry model as well.

Cartime from time will not accelerate it goes limp and take a minute to regain speed or power taken the car into big two toyota they found no codes and could not replicate the problem a computer software update was completedsymptoms remain the same i purchased a scanner from the local parts store to see if maybe i'm just crazy come to find our there are codes present called and talked to one of the floor managers and he said its not important enough to set a check engine light so dont worry about it i believe that was the best poor choice of advise to offer a customer that's bringing in a2014 car that having prombles

Both front power door locks have stopped operating. The locks still work manually but it is cumbersome with the smartkey, as the smartkey has a very small blade style key that is difficult to remove from the smartkey. Only opens the driver's side door has a key hole and the blade style only goes in facing one direction. A quick internet search make it apparent that this is a common problem across all toyota brands and many models and many years. Out of warranty costs to repair at dealer are $600-$1200. This seems like the door lock actuators fail prematurely dues to poor (perhaps intentional) design.

My 2014 toyota camry causes eye irritation and burning. Mostly likely this is due to a faulty hvac system and/or compartment seals that could be channeling trace amounts of exhaust fumes into the passenger compartment. I have taken the car to the local toyota dealer who says there is nothing wrong with the car. This happens every single time i drive the car. This does not happen when i drive my other car, i.e. My eyes aren't the problem. I am worried that i may be inhaling something toxic and am absolutely terrified about taking the car on long drives.

We have records from toyota service department, going back to oct. 2014.we appreciate what you can do.[xxx],[xxx], e-mail [xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

Musty mold smell coming from air conditioning and heating vents while using heat and air conditioning.

March 2017 noticed a mold smell in car. Floor boards on both sides of car wet. Front and back seat. Mechanic files insurance claim. All mold was removed. All padding was replaced. Carpet was disinfected, shampooed and put back in car. January 2019 moldy smell again, floorboards wet, odor worse than before.

My sunroof exploding out of nowhere on the highway while i was going 75 mph and i there was no car in front of me i was on the left lane but there was a semi on the right line 6 car lengths in front of me.

Heater not blowing hot air blowing colder air than the ac would put out dropped my car off to have the oil change done heat was blowing hot. Picked up from my service dept when done drove car for 1/2hr and the heat seating was blowing colder air than the ac service manger said all was done was the oil change now i have to drive my car with now heat

The driver door wont unlock with the remote key.it will only manually lock/unlock.the passenger door, and 2 back doors, and the trunk will open with the remote key.but not the driver door.

Touchscreen is partially inoperative due to faulty calibration. Calibration started changing one year after purchase. Hasn't been a factor because i have been using the same phone. Recently purchased a new phone and cannot pair with the system. I do not have the abilty to use the phone via hands-free operation while driving this vehicle. This is definitely a safety issue. This defect is very common. Toyota has issued a technical service bulletin about it (tsb 0172-16). Toyota told me that the whole radio touchscreen assembly needs to be replaced. Because this is a safety issue there should be a recall and toyota should fix this at no cost. (some portions of this complaint were copied from another perviously submitted complaint)

My 2014 camry stalls when i stop and try to inter traffic. It does this very often. I reported this to mckinnion toyato in clantion al. They say they can't get it to do this.i am scared to drive this car, it is going to get me or someone killedif this is not corrected. I am going back to them tomorrow.if they don't fix this i willgo to my lawyer and inform if i get in an accidentbecause of this condition. So he can take action against toyato

For almost a year now, i have been smelling a mildew odor coming from my vents. I vacuumed the interior carpets with baking soda and sprayed the vents with lysol. I checked under the hood and under the car for any leakage. Nothing. I also changed my cabin air filter again. No positive results. My last option was to google toyota odor complaints and bingo, other complaints about this issue. This certainly is a problem that toyota should address and repair, without cost to the car owner.

Takata recall

I attempted to stop my vehicle at the end of a driveway when i saw fast approaching cross traffic.my engine began racing and my brakes failed, carrying my vehicle about 20 feet into the intersection as i helplessly pressed down on the brake pedal. Fast approaching vehicles barely missed me. I barely escaped violent death.

Mold smell in ac vents on summer days everytime i turn on car for at least 5 minutes. Its unhealthy and embarassing to have a 2 year old car that smells awful when turned on. I have read on many forums this is a very common issue with camrys .

Transmission issue delay shifting... From reverse to drive

There is mold growing in my ac/heating system that is making me very ill. It is a known problem and toyota has done nothing about it. For more than a yr. Now i have been experience a serious sinus infection. At a recent maint. Inspection the service mgr. Told me of the problem. My car is fairly new and still under warranty, they want to charge me $185 to treat the problem not correct it! the smell is constant.

Tires are worn at 19774 miles? per car dealer sun toyota in holiday florida

I was hung up upon by a representative of service advocacy illedgely at manufacturers headquarters when advocating problems with manufacturers representatives on phone and /or in person about vehicle and/or maintenance , warranty concerns from 11/30 to approximately 2.00pm, in general.terms by its staffabroad and here and future world wide. But not including more issues with vehicle and/or treatment of representatives of vehicle. The question response to answer under "note" is unknown. Total disatisfactionwith manufacturer and worldwide dealerships. These and possibly more incidents happened prior to 11/31/20.

I have a 2014 toyota camry a while ago the actuator of the driver's door began to fail but now there are 2 more doors that do not work and i have 3 of the 4 doors that do not work

The driver door will not lock with the remote and now the passenger doors will not lock or unlock the remote or manually.

Ecm softwareref - tsb no. Sb0034-14r2

My door lock actuators have failed. It started with the passenger side front then driver side now all have failed making it impossible to lock or unlock car except by manually doing it. This is inconvenient and makes the car hardly accessible except using key to manually open driver side

My 2014 camry has less than 20,000 miles on it and i am about to be on my 3rd cabin filter due to a moldy smell in my car.i bought this car for my wife brand new and i have complained to the dealership multiple times about this issue.they have accepted the fault and in april of this year they replaced the cabin filter free of charge.less than 6 months later it has gone bad again, the car smells moldly and my child and wife are surrounded by this moldy smell whenever the a/c is on.i have filed a complaint with toyota with the request for them to buy-back this vehicle from me as every other vehicle i have owned doesn't need a cabin filter until 50-60k miles.toyota has acknowledged this issue and fault.i was advised to place a complaint at this time here since this odor is effecting my families health.toyota has been slow returning my calls and has advised me that this process will take over 30 days from here.

The touchscreen doesn't work on the lower part of the screen.some features are only available through the touchscreen.i am unable to remove paired cellphones to add newer phones because of this.

'takata recall' on dec. 20, 2017 the sound in my toyota camry went out. The local dealership here in grenada,ms informed me on using these procedures to get the isssue token care of. I️ bought my 2014 camry brand new i️ am the first owner

Start to have the following problem on 12/20/2018get up to 20 mph hard shift and then up to 40 mph has a vibration and then after between 45 and 55 mph it drive normal.noticeable hesitation when accelerating and shifting occurs between 30-32 mph. Hesitate to accelerate between 2nd and 3rd gear when taking off, it mostly happen when the engine is first starting out from stop, afterward it fine gears shifts correctly and the idle control guage is normal between gears.i took the car to the local toyota dealer on 01/03/2019, the technician took the car for drive test and he said its a torque converter problem. They changed the torque converter part; on 1/05/2019 i went to the dealer to pick up the car and after driving for few minutes, i noticed the same problem. I retook the car to the toyota dealer for the same problem, and the same technician took for the test drive, and this time he said it has internal delay on second gear. I am not sure what's the problem, but they advised i need to change the transmission. After doing some research i found the following online."cars equipped with an automatic transmission might experience a hesitation when accelerating. Revised software for the on board computer is available which may correct this problem. Software revisions are commonly most helpful on newer vehicles. Once the mileage builds up a worn component could cause similar problems. Whenever major transmission work in performed, the transmission software should be updated as necessary".i am taking my car on 01/07/2019 to update the software and see if that can fix the problem

While car was going 30-35mph, i had to slow down due to traffic. Letting go of the accelerator was fine, but when i pressed the accelerator again, car stalled under low rpm for 2-3 seconds. This happened back in may and it was just sometimes. But now it's been happening everyday on low speeds and low rpm. Idling is fine, car is always in operating temperature when stalling happens (so i know this is not related to cold engine).i called toyota and they're not sure what could cause it.

The contact owns a 2014 toyota camry. While driving at an unknown speed, the vehicle accelerated independently. The contact depressed the brake pedal, but the brakes failed. As a result, the contact crashed into trees and shrubbery. The air bags failed to deploy. The vehicle sustained extensive front end and driver side damage. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. There were no injuries and a police report was filed. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 4,900.updated 11/04/15*lj the consumer stated the vehicle was not totaled and repaired. Updated 2/1/2016

"takata inflators" november 29, 2016. Entered vehicle to move it away from curb. Started vehicle and it suddenly without warning accelerated and crashed over two retaining walls and hit a parked car, forcing that hit vehicle into another parked vehicle. Our vehicle continued onward across a parking lot at crashed into a tree.we complained to toyota and they requested us to release the vehicle to them in order they recover the edr/vch data. We signed a consent form and they quarantined the vehicle until a private contractor could retrieve the data. This took over 10 weeks that we had no use of the vehicle. Toyota finally released the vehicle back to us. Toyota sent us an email stating they discovered nothing wrong.we had the vehicle towed back to cooks collision of davis ca. Which was a repair shop recommended by our insurance liberty mutual insurance co. The insurance claim #pd000-034712120-01.cooks collision inspected the damages and determined that the car was too damaged to repair and liberty mutual opted to total the car.this car was a total wreck, however, not one airbag deployed. This is a serious safety problem.

The contact owns a 2014 toyota camry. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to respond to acceleration attempts. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the failure could not be diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted about the failure. The failure mileage was 256.

The contact owns a 2014 toyota camry. While driving at an unknown speed and making a left turn, the brake pedal was depressed but the vehicle accelerated and failed to stop. As a result, the contact crashed into the front of another vehicle. The contact was unsure if the air bag deployed. The contact sustained chest, right arm, and leg injuries that required medical attention. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed from the crash scene. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 38,000.

Noise when vehicle reaches speedsover 35 mph. Windshieldwiper fluid not dispensing when turnedon.pulling and de-accerelation sometimesat 60 mph.

I was driving my car from my sons daycare and all of a sudden it wouldnt accelerate. My engine light was on. I put my cat in park and put it back into drive and it jerked but still wold not accelerate. It did this for about 10 min. Until i turned ny car off and restarted it. But the engine light is still on. I was on a busy street in the morning

Sometimes when pushing the gas pedal the car will not go. Pushed it to the floor still nothing took a few seconds for it to work again. This has happened a few times already. Usually after stopping then trying to accelerate nothing happens.

Toyota unintended acceleration. When stopping at exit from parking lot car suddenly and powerfully acceleratedpressed hard on brake and turned off ignition to stop itsame thinghappened-my driveway 15 minutes later.

The contact owns a 2014 toyota camry. The contact stated that while driving approximately 35 mph, the accelerator pedal was depressed but the vehicle failed to accelerate. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 2,000.

When turning, car is moving slowly forward andcar fails to accelerate when gas pedal is pressed to complete the turn. Turning right or left. There is a 5 second hesitation before it kicks in. City driving. Car in motion and there is also an acceleration hesitation when trying to pass a car in highway driving. Unknown component problem. Drive train problem. Transmission problem.

The contact stated while entering his garage, when depressing brake pedal, the vehicle accelerate forward causing him to lose control and hit a garage wall. The air bags did not deploy. The contact stated he was unaware if there was any warning light illuminated. The contact stated the front bumper was damaged. The contact did not sustained any medical injuries. The contact stated he fixed the bumper on his own. The vehicle was taken to local dealer family toyota of arlington located at 1661 wet n wild way, arlington, tx 76011, (682) 227-8877, three weeks after the accident and was informed that the torque converter clutch needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but shortly after the battery became faulty. The dealer exchanged the battery. The manufacturer had been informed of failure and sent an investigator to inspect the vehicle. The failure mileage was 7,754.*lncheck (xxx)('parts of this document have been redacted to protect personally identifiable information pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).')

On a city street either stationary or in motion, or on highway, when pressing the accelerator pedal suddenly but not 'flooring it' the car hesitates and then feels like it downshifts and is slow to increase speed.

I was driving on a local road (40mph) in january 2015 and at some point had to press on my brakes somewhat abruptly due to a car in front of me suddenly slowing down.a few minutes later my car accelerating capacity suddenly turned off and the car was coming to a stop in the middle of the road and the car was making a loud revving noise as i tried to increase the speed.it also was not moving further. I somehow pulled over to a right turning lane, where i stopped the car and turned off the engine.when i turned it back on, the car began running fine.then again on 3/1/2015 i was driving on a road connecting to the highway at maybe 35-40mph when this time i had to make a sudden break due to another car merging into the lane unexpectedly.my car then immediately stopped moving forward and the car was turning off in the middle of the road.in order to be hit by traffic coming behind me at 50+ mph, i was finally again able to veer into a right turning lane where i turned the car off and started it again. It was also making that same loud revving noise when i was veering it into the safety lane.it again drove fine all the way back home.this is a 10 month old toyota camry se (bought in april 2014) and i'm terrified that if for any reason i need to hit my brakes suddenly on a highway or anywhere else, my car will turn off and that will be the end of my car and me. There is clearly a serious defect in this car or model and others need to know.the care was bought in ms.

When pressing the gas pedal to accelerate the camry is experiencing hesitation and seems to wait 5-10 seconds before picking up speed. I experienced this when accelerating from 30-40mph when preparing to merge into highway traffic. Felt very dangerous.

The contact owns a 2014 toyota camry. While driving approximately 55 mph with the accelerator pedal depressed, the vehicle decelerated to approximately 20 mph before suddenly accelerating to 55 mph. The failure occurred ever since the vehicle was purchased in october of 2018. The vehicle was taken to carmax toyota (10201 philadelphia rd, white marsh, md 21162) on five different occasions, but the failure could not be duplicated. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 81,100.

3 instances of unintended acceleration, the last while parallel parking on a busy small town street with pedestrians present. A severe accident that could have easily caused pedestrian or driver injury was avoided only by quick reflex application of the brakes and a shift of the gear into neutral. The first incident occurred while entering a major highway via an access road.the engine suddenly took off and returned to normal operation after brake application and a downshift to neutral. The third event occurred occurred a few weeks before the final event, while backing out of a parking spot. Unintended acceleration similar to the other two incidents likewise occurred. After the final incident, the car was taken to the local toyota dealership where assurances from their engineers that the car was " safe to drive" rang hollow, given that a number of deaths caused by unintended toyota acceleration had been reported in recent previous years. Although i didn't record specific dates when the incidents happened, the final one occurred in the fall of '15 and the car has not been on the road since for fear of injury to myself, family or others. As the car lease concludes ( the monthly payments have been dutifully paid since the final incident) i write this to have it on record that i consider the car to be unsafe and that i want toyota (given their seeming lack of concern about the original complaint) to be held responsible should the car be simply passed on to a new owner or lessee andanother unintended acceleration occur, causing injury.

On 3/5/18, i was parking my 2014 toyota camry in a parking lot at my place of employment. I had my foot on the brake and the car was barely moving when suddenly it accelerated over a curb and into a retaining wall.

The contact owns a 2014 toyota camry. While driving approximately 1 mph, the vehicle suddenly accelerated while the brake pedal was applied. The dealer was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified. The approximate failure mileage was 1,903.

The contact owns a 2014 toyota camry. While driving 15 mph, the vehicle accelerated and crashed into the rear of another vehicle, causing a three-vehicle crash. The air bags failed to deploy. The contract sustained a back injury that required medical attention. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed by the insurance company and repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 16,000. Ma 10/8

Completely.

I do not know if it is a power train, engine, transmission or accelerator pedal that tis causing the problem.this problem is intermittent, that is, it doesn't happened all the time.the first time the problem happened was when the car was very new -100km - and i pressed on the accelerator to pass a vehicle and nothing happened, the car seemed to be dead then a few moments later - 1-2seconds - the car just took off.the next it happened was at 2500 miles and the car was about 20 min. Into driving in the late fall .i came to a stop sign and the traffic was very heavy.i saw an opportunity to get into traffic and pressed on the accelerator and nothing happened the car just didn't move.then all of a sudden it took off spinning its wheels and i almost lost control. The next time it happened was on a very cold day and again i was at a stop sign and pressed on the accelerator to go ahead and ... Nothing.then all of a sudden it just took off.i have taken the car to the service center and they drove it for 20 minutes and after a charge of $24.00 they said that nothing is wrong.i did tell them it was anintermittent problem.this is very scary because of the lapse of response and then a sudden response can leave the driver in a dangerous situation. To prevent an accident i try not to expect immediate response from my accelerator. Has there been ""hidden recall" to this problem?.....updated 03-03-15updated 3/24/2016updated 9/21/2017

The contact owned a 2014 toyota camry. While driving 5 mph, the vehicle accelerated without warning. The vehicle crashed into a guardrail and came to a stop in a driveway. The contact sustained minor injuries to the ribs, which required medical attention. A police report was filed. The vehicle was destroyed and was towed by the police to an unknown lot. The dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and concluded that there was no failure and the contact was at fault. The failure mileage was 49,000.

On 2 occasions, months apart, shortly after starting the car, i had to slam on the brakes to stop the car. The gas did not let up when i took my foot of the gas petal and put it on the brake.

The contact owns a 2014 toyota camry. While attempting to park, the brake pedal was depressed but the vehicle accelerated independently. As a result, the contact crashed into a refrigerator and the air bags failed to deploy. No injuries were sustained and a police report was not filed. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 4,100.

The cruse control on this vehicle, as well as other toyota vehicles, does not work correctly on hills or inclines.when set at a speed it will continue to increase speed when going down the hill.this is dangerous which could result in someone being killed.i had a corolla before that had same problemmy brother-in-law has a camry that also has the same issue.i spoke to one of the sales persons at l & s toyota in beckley, wv.he said all toyotas with this type transmission would not work correctly on a hill. This happens all the time when using cruse on inter state 64 speed limit is 70 miles per hr.vehicle will be doing 80 before you know itif you don't notice it it is hard to tell how fast you would be going.accidents could already happened because of this. On august 11, 2014, while driving in a rainstorm on interstate 20 in mississippi, i heard something hard strike the windshield. A moment later i saw a crack abruptly run from the edge towards the middle of the windshield directly in front of the driver seat. The crack had traveled about 12 inches before stopping.i inspected the windshield when we arrived home and discovered that something struck the unprotected edge of the glass. On all vehicles i've driven to date (including our 2008 toyota yaris) the vulnerable windshield edges are protected with trim or gaskets but not on our 2014 camry. At first we thought that edge protectors were missing from our vehicle but we inspected all the camrys at our dealership and found that all have exposed windshield edges.exposed windshield edges are very dangerous. Roadways are littered and contain construction debris (gravel, metal and other materials) that could strike a car when driven over and launched into traffic. While safety glass will absorb a great deal of impact, its integrity is compromised when cracked such as what happened to my 2014 camry. Any sharp strike to the edge of glass will cause a crack to develop that could result in complete windshield failure. More importantly, a sudden crack will startle a driver and may result in their losing control of their vehicle. This condition is a serious threat to all drivers on the road.i utilized the toyota 3-tier complaint process without success. The toyota company does not believe this deficiency is a serious safety concern according to my personal conversation with their complaint department.toyota should voluntarily recall all it's vehicles with similar exposed windshield edges and apply a protective edge guard. They should also repair damaged windshields that are caused by strikes to the vulnerable edges.

I noticed that the driver side mirror is chipping away and the dealer claims that "we" did had to use something on the car that made the mirror chip away and we have not. The car is brand new and this should not happen regardless if we wash the car or not. Now the dealer refuses to accept fix the issue.

Picked up a new toyota camry xle. Leaving the dealer the light reflecting off the dash onto the windshield reduced visibility to the point that i could hardly see the road.

Windshield rubber part just loosened

Takata recall , the problem i'm having is windshield visavility ,and the other one is the arm of the right side makes a popping noise it almost sounds like it's going to come off

The rear wheels of a passing truck threw a blanket of muddy water across my windshield as i began turning to the right. I turned on the windshield washers only to find that the driver's windshield washer (as well as the passenger's washer) wetted only about 8 inches of the lower windshield at two points about 8 inches apart. The wipers were ineffective in moving the two low streams of water higher on the windshield to provide visibility at my line of sight even though i am not tall. Finally the wipers began scraping off the mud, without the help of the washer fluid, providing me marginal visibility.subsequent testing at the dealer's lot showed that neither the 2014 nor the 2015 camry windshield washer wetted their windshield high enough to be really effective. At my request the dealer replaced the factory installed washers with ones that elevated the water streams by one more degree. Although the replacement washers tended to deliver about 35% of water over the top of the windshield at rest, at any reasonable road speed, to include slow ones, the washers wetted the windshield well enough for the wipers to improve visibility. Toyota could not provide a more effective solution even when the condition was reported to their regional rep. The washers should really be redesigned and replaced for effectiveness under all driving conditions.

My sunroof exploding out of nowhere on the highway while i was going 75 mph and i there was no car in front of me i was on the left lane but there was a semi on the right line 6 car lengths in front of me.

The dash board is melted and very sticky as a result of this it is causing sun glare making it hard for me to see clearly when i'm driving .

Bought a new 2014 camry se on 6-21-2014...drove it last night to find that the rear window is excessively distorted...through my rear-view mirror i am unable to discern: the number of cars behind me...position of cars in which lanes they are traveling...unable to see what type of vehicle is behind me (i.e. 18 wheeler, motorcycle or a car with one or two headlights).as i look through the rear mirror left to right and right to left, images get smaller then big then back to smaller and so forth. This is ongoing and dangerous for all drivers.it was difficult to safely change lanes last night because i could not tell who or what was in the lane next to me. This is a serious safety issue i think...can you help me? thanks

Battery died, battery was jumped and the windshield wipers switch fried and short circuited my entire electrical wiring. Resulting in $2,800.00 in damages. The car was stationary. There was recall on this problem for camry's and i believe this wasn't fixed on mine.

First, i don't own toyota camry, but every time i drive following behind it that brake lights (led) are so bright that hurts my eyes and makes my vision blotches for awhile. I believe this is unsafe. I hope our government can investigate this and see if those led used in camry complies safety standard.

The rear of the vehicle does not cool down with a/c at any speed.air is ice cold at vents but nothing reaches the back even at full blast.very dangerous for kids or really anyone over a few hours in 100 degree heat let alone 120 degrees.this was a rental and glad not stuck with it.

I am very disappointed by quality of windshield and materials used in making it. I was driving on the evening of 25th april, 2014 during rain and i did not even realize if any thing hit as a projectile to my windscreen but in the morning there was a crack which had spread greater than a foot in length. My primary concern is quality of material used which can be a safety hazard during highway driving and secondary concern is the cost of replacement vs repair. If the crack had not spread at such an alarming rate, it would have resulted in a repair which costs 8 times less than replacement cost which is being covered by myself and insurance. It just makes me question the type of materials used, possibility of supplier manufacturing issue, some issue with the raw materials used in making the glass mold but overall it just has greatly disappointed me in toyota brand. I certainly understand that warranty does not cover the cost of such replacements but i was hoping that toyota would like to at least take this sample and analyze it to make sure that it is not a trend and just a single incident of bad product quality.

Air pressure signal appeared in the dashboard. Without my consent they changed the four tire sensors and they put a new battery. Still the air pressure signal appeared in the dashboard, i went back twice they never fix it , they have charged me $ 1,154.02 and still not fixed

Driving the vehicle it had a blow out. Two weeks later another blow out . Decided to check rest of tires and there is a bulge on the side wall of the rear passenger sidebelieve that they all were factory defects..

Roaoing noise when wheels turn. Loud on smooth road from 20mph on up.rythem increases with speed. Toyota inspection stated all tires have inside edge feathered tread. Very excessive on rear tires. Replace all tires to stop noise. Cause unknown

Bubble on inside of rr tire, suggest replacing 215-55-17 bridgestone potenza.wolfchase toyota may have replaced tire on rf of car, not rr.i can only presume bubble may still be on tires which were supposedly rotated. Another description on first page of owner's receipt states "c/r replace tire that has a bubble on it.replaced right front tire."i cannot tell which tire was replaced, or if any were replaced.driving with a bubble on a tire may cause loss of control of the vehicle.i only had 24.983 miles on the tires, but wolfchase toyota required full purchase price of $211,15 for replacement tire and misidentified where they replaced the tire.wolfchase provided no road hazard or warranty on the tire because rep said i failed to purchase this coverage when the car was new.i told the rep that i was not told i needed to buy the coverage when i purchased the car.based on your database, bridgestone has had bubble problems on theirtires which has caused accidents. Wolfchase toyota failed to show me this tire with a bubble which has been a customary practice at other service places that i've gone to.

I purchased a 2014 toyota camry se in november 2014. I was driving on the florida turnpike going about 60 miles per hour and the back left tire blowout. The side of my car is damaged and the lower panel below the doors also the front bumper. I contacted toyota and i was told that the tire is not covered by them even and only the car (wow). The manager at toyota told me to contact the tire dealer and discus the problem. I called the tire manufacture (bridgestone retail operations, llc - 800 847 3272) and told them of the situation. The representative took all the details and provided me with a case number (727790) and told me to provide them with 2 written estimates and ship the damaged tire to them. After a week, i shipped the damaged tire and the written estimate bridgestone.after about a week, i received a letter in the mail stated that my claim has been deny, due to low air in the tire. This is not true because had sufficient air in the tire and these tires are i went on the web site http://www.nitrofill.com/ and even if the tire has low air it should not have blowout. I contacted (1-877-246-3455) the nitro fill and they told me that bridgestone is a "joke". I really need your help on solving this problem because the car is new and fully under warrantee. I really don't know what to do at this point so i am counting on your help ... Thanksthe contact person at bridgestone is:donielle stephens:bridgestone americas, inc.10 e.

The issue: a service provider violating the 'make inoperative' provision of the law.we purchased four tires at sam"s club #8247, in homewood, al.when they returned the car we received an envelope with the invoice, the keys and a broken "air presser sensor".they just handed us the envelope and made no mention of the broken sensor.we ask the young man you waited on us 'what happen' ? he had no clue, hedidn'teven know what the sensorwas. After looking at the invoice someone had written at the bottom 'rod broke sensor'.we talked to a store manager she told to take the car to a repair shop, pay for the repair, bring themthe invoice and that sam's would reimburseus for the cost up $350.00.it my understanding that they should have repaired the sensor beforeallowingthe vehicle to leave their shop.the vehicle was stationary, on their parking lot.
