Was t-boned on my driver's side door at 40mph and no airbag deployed.. Not even the side curtain airbag and the whole driver's side window shattered. Was turning left at a light when i was tboned.

Dashboard is melting, sticky, shiny, creates dangerous glare.

The airbag light came on shortly after i purchased the used car from a dealership. The dealership claimed they fixed the issue but the airbag light is still on and they refuse to fix the problem. I do not know what is causing the airbag to malfunction and the possible issues that may arise should i be involved in an accident.

My two sons were involved in a car accident to where my car ended up being totaled and what is disturbing to me is that the air bags did not deploy at time of impact.the brunt of the damage was on the passenger side which is where my 13 year old was sitting.

Dash began having cracks about a year ago.now concerned that this might have something to do with the recent airbag recall.

2007 toyota camry with airbag light illuminated. Consumer states that the airbag light has yet to be fixed. She believes this problem should be fixed due to the warranty.the lock on the seatbelt was inoperative.

The contact owns a 2007 toyota camry solara. While driving 30 mph, the contact crashed into another vehicle. The air bags failed to deploy. A police report was filed and there were no injuries. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The fender, front bumper, and passenger side headlamp were repaired. The failure mileage was 80,000.

Copy of an email sent to toyota:i am writing to complain about an issue that just arose with my toyota solara convertible. It is a 2007 vehicle that i love. I have taken care of it and drive it judiciously. I only have 31,500 (approximately) miles on this vehicle and have always taken it to the dealership at which i purchased it for maintenance, any recall repairs needed, etc. In addition to the above, this vehicle has never been in an accident of any kind, no matter how minor. The airbags have never been deployed for any reason. Now, for my complaint:about a week and a half ago, the airbag indicator light came on the dashboard. I called my dealership and immediately made an appointment to have this examined. Last thursday, the 17th of may, the service man at the dealership informed me the airbag on the passenger side is not working, cannot be fixed and the system needs replaced. I ordered said system since i do not want to be without the airbag protection. However?i am very upset about having to spend $700 to replace this needed system when nothing occurred to cause this system to fail. I know i need it and feel that i have tried to take care of the car and have not abused it. I realize regular maintenance is necessary and some things occasionally need to be replaced, such as, tires, brakes, etc. But an airbag system? really? my other car is a 2009 toyota rav 4 and i have also tried to care for this vehicle. I have never had an issue with the airbag in the rav 4 or any other car i have had in the past (since airbags were first installed in cars). This really, really upsets me!!! i and my husband are retirees and on a fixed income and really feel the expense for this item is horrible and wonder why something like this isn?t covered by toyota.

Numerous cracks over entire dashboard that may cause problems if airbags are caused to deploy.

Seat belt safety light came on and never goes off.my mechanic told me it would cost me thousand of dollars to fix. I should not have to pay for a safety feature. Also my braking system had a leak at just over 35000 miles that cost me 1300.00 and it was never on the recall list.

My 2007 toyota solora cuts off as i'm driving! i just purchased this car found out it has a few recalls ! i'm scared , this is very dangerous! what's wrong with my car?

My dash panel is sticky cracking and in a state of deterioration . My concern is that in an air bag deployment parts of this cracked dash could impact my eyes like broken glass. This vehicle is garage kept and rarely used as it is at a vacation home. It does not sit in the sun or a parking lot. It is deteriorating on its own.

I was driving in city in the evening and noticed that the street appeared to darken.the passenger in my car told me to pull over so we could check the headlight. The driver headlights out.i went to the toyota dealership. They told me it might be the bulb but couldn't guarantee it.i could try it out for 160.00. And if it didn't fix the problem to come back and they'd check electrical. I was not foolish enough to do that.i tried the lights again for the next year and now both lights go on and off at will.at times i have had both go off. If i turn the headlight switch off and then back on again they lights return on sometimes. Other times i change the setting and use the other setting to get both lights.i've been stopped by the local police for headlight out.i will be furious if i get a ticket or have to pay 2 k to get this fixed when it's a defect from the factory. Toyota owns this!

Purchased a brand new 2007 toyota camry solara in march 2008 with 22 miles on it.beginning in 2014 while driving the vehicle, the passenger headlight would go out within 5-10 minutes of driving.by turning the headlights on and off, the headlight would stay on.beginning in 2015 while driving the vehicle at night, the passenger headlight started going out after 3-5 minutes operation and i would turn the lights on and off and the light would stay on for another 3-5 minutes.i replaced the bulb, only to find the problem was reoccurring.had the fuses checked by a mechanic'they were fine.had the wiring checked, it was fine.what started happening shortly afterwards is dangerous and frightening: while driving the vehicle, both headlights went out without notification and it took 2-3 times of turning them on and off before they both came back on' then 3-5 minutes later the passenger headlight went out.i have tried every combination of lights i know, brights, automatic, manual.. High beams, fog.. The passenger headlight will go out.this evening while driving in the dark, both headlights went out on a winding road, i decided it was time to re-investigate to see if this is a recurring/known problem.sadly, it appears to be a known problem in a forum, but not an admitted problem by the manufacturer.i cannot sell/trade the vehicle knowing of this issue, nor would i gift this vehicle to my teen.i am stuck with this vehicle until i can find a true resolution.

The contact owns a 2007 toyota camry solara. The contact stated that the vehicle was parked and unoccupied when it ignited into massive flames. The fire department was called to extinguish the flames. They informed the contact that the fire was contributed to electrical failures and that the fire originated from the front end of the vehicle. The vehicle was completely destroyed and towed to a savage facility. The manufacturer was notified of the problem. There was a concurrent investigation associated with the failure under nhtsa action number: ea12006 (electrical system). The approximate failure mileage was 88,000.

When i was existing from a freeway with speed of about 20mph, my car, a solara 2007 all of a sudden just went almost horizontally from right to left with a fast speed.luckily, there was no car coming.i applied brake as hard as i could and stopped to check.everything is normal, tires are good. I brought the care to dealer, but they said it's not on recall list and i have to pay for the service.

While driving the headlight go out.if i turn them off then back on they come on.some times this happens every minute or so and sometime they work fine.i have replaced the left low beam thinking i had a bad light.i think this is a safety issue and should be fixed by the manufacture.

The left sided-4 headlight goes out after being on a while i have check on line many cars have same problem.but toyota refuses to make it arecall.

2007 toyota solara. Consumer expresses discontent with response from dealership regarding vehicle problems *tgwthe consumer stated the vehicle suddenly stalled which left him with no power and unable to control the vehicle in a rainstorm. The consumer did manage to get to the nearest exit safely.

Driving at night got stopped by nj state trooper for having drivers light out. Flipped light handle on and off light came back on.ten minutes later had the same problem.

We bought the car new off the show room floor in 2008 the left head light stop working $375.00 to replace this is with me doing the work. In 2014 the right head light stop working i went to toyota and ask if any one was having a problem with this and was there a recall on it was told no. This time it was $500.00 to fix the problem and this was me doing the work after looking at the web site looks as if toyota has a problem and does not want to address it i see other people have the same problem. Is it going to take someone getting killed to get them to look into the problem and fix it.

Driver side low beam (hid) headlight turns off by itself in manual and auto modes. Turning the light switch off and back on brings the headlight back on but only for a short period, then it goes out again. The problem was intermittent at first but is becoming more frequent and at times both headlights will flicker intermittently.

My car locks upyou drive it some where and go to leave and you can't because the key can't move 1st timemarch 2014 and then every 5-6 months after this is the fourth time .you put the key in and it wont moveyou can't start the car and it has coast me over 1000's$$$$ and i have nothing on my side. I don't think i should have to keep paying for the same problem over and over is their anything i can do???please let me know if this is a problem with the car are just mine thank you .

2007 toyota solara. Consumer states unintended acceleration. *tgwthe consumer stated he experienced sudden acceleration for the first few months after the vehicle was purchased.the consumer stated the vehicle would lurch forward while at a stop light or stop sign. It didn't happen every time, only intermittently. When it did happen, the engine was accelerating and the consumer had to press very hard on the brake or place the transmission in neutral to prevent the vehicle from going any further. The consumer also complained of a rough idle. The rough idle was due tocrack in the spark plug. A few times the vehicle would accelerate while on the highway. Also, the check engine light illuminated.

I own a 2007 toyota camry solara. My problem exist with a stuck pedal. When i am stopped at a light, and proceed to step on my accelerator momentarily sticks in a neutral position ,until it releases, while i am still moving forward with the same pressure on the gas pedal. I checked the owners manual and this is what it states:if the engine speed does not increase when the accelerator pedal is depressed, there may be a problem somewhere in the electronic throttle control system. My concern is this problem is associated with the recall, and my car is not on the recall list. I do not feel confident in toyota's explanation with all toyota cars. I do not know if my car was involved in the 1st recall with the floor mats, throttle control, or the gas pedal. I want to know who made my accelerator pedal and if my car will be repaired by toyota.i do not feel safe, that this problem with the pedal will make my car go out of control. If it is a defective part, has it been determined that when my pedal sticks it will accelerate out of control. With so many other toyota's being added to the list each day. I want to report that the camry solara should be added to this list. It is not safe to drive. This happens every time i drive the car. I am not currently driving the car. I expect all issues with acceleration be closely looked at by toyota, and the responsibility to repair at the cost of toyota be taken care of regardless of a recall letter being sent out to only the listed cars to date. This is a problem i did not anticipate, with a new car, and know it is due to defective materials used in the production of their cars. Treat all fairly. I can not afford to pay for a repair, and should not be inconvenienced in making a car payment, when a car is sitting in my driveway. Or should i be out on the road driving in a dangerous vehicle that has not been put on the recall list.

I bought the car with the odometer reading 69,566 miles on the engine . I change the oil(5-20w)and filter and within a couple of thousand of miles i heard small knocking like a deep bearing going bad. I check the oil and discovered it was not registering on the oil stick. It needed nearly 3 quarts of oil. The toyota solara burns too much oil to be safe. The car could of had a catastrophic accident by freezing up on the freeway.i believe toyotaengineered and produceda defective engine and is trying to cover it upby telling the buyers "its normal' to have oil consumption 1 quart every 600 miles". The owners manual states to "change your oil every 4,500 miles. This is a contradiction as adding1 quart of new oil every 600 miles is effectively changing your oil by default. Who is toyota kidding?i have 10k to pay off the loan. I want toyota to fix the problem and be a responsible corporation.

There was no accident . I am reporting and filing a complaint about a "engine oil consumption problem""major engine and piston problem." in my car a toyota solara 2007. This problem started 9 months to a year ago and i have to keep putting in oil so often (every month) it seems ridiculous as my car is only(6) years old and the problem started at (5) years old. I have enquired and see that there were many other complaints of the same type(service bulletins-t-sb-0094-11) previously. I strongly believe there should be a recall on this problem. This should not be happening to such a new car or at all for that matter.i have always believed in toyota cars i was under the impression they have one of the best engines made. What's happening! this is very disturbing to me. Please respond.thank you.

The contact owns a 2007 toyota camry solara. The contact stated that the vehicle would require an excessive amount of oil to be added every 500 miles. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for inspection where they stated that there was an oil consumption issue in the vehicle, which required the engine to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 60,000.

Am a person who always get my oil change on time since i bought my car. However, over the last year, i have notice the following issues:my 'oil pressure' light come on halfway through your maintenance schedule.my engine burn through as much as 1 quart of oil in 1,200 milesi took my vehicle into the toyota dealership on august 10, 2017 located on 1000 blairs bridge rd, lithia springs, ga 30122. They checked my vehicle and told me the following:i was told that my engine burning through oil is 'normal' and 'nothing to be alarmed of'they acknowledge damaged, oil-deprived engine only to deny warranty coverage; they quoted me over 3,000 to get fixedtwo weeks later, i checked my oil and i was completely out of oil. Over time, this issue is getting worst. I have contacted toyota corporate office with no resolution; i continue to leave messages. I would like to have my car fixed since this issue is common in 2007 solora's.

Excessive oil consumption.toyota dealership tested it and my car failed the test.they tell me i need new rings and piston's.engine rebuild.they told me i am on the list but it could take up to a year for the parts to come from the parent company.so if my engine blows up between now and then what happens then?

Engine excessive oil consumption.while i was driving on a city street oil light start flickering after turns and applying break pedal. I pulled my vehicle over and shut down an engine. After i checked my oil level and it was hardly on a stick. I do change my oil regularly, every 5000 miles.toyota's oil light starts flickering when i lost almost 3 quarters, which could lead to engine shut down, glad i wasn't on a highway at that time and had enough time to pull over and take my car to a mechanic to add engine oil. As a result of toyota's engine engineering flow i lost about 3 quarters of engine oil in a less than 3000.after this unfortunate incidenttook place i have been keeping my eye on oil level. Later on i took a car to authorized toyota dealership. After checking a car they diagnosed an oil leak, i fixed it, howeverproblem still exist. My car still uses way too much oil, which make it unsafe to drive since i have slight idea when oil could disappear while operating a vehicle.

My 2007 toyota solora cuts off as i'm driving! i just purchased this car found out it has a few recalls ! i'm scared , this is very dangerous! what's wrong with my car?

I have a toyota solara 2007 it has an excessive oil consumption problem (tested and certified by toyota of south florida dealer as part of toyota national recall)but toyota corporation doesn't have an specific time to fix this problem because they don't have yet the parts to replace and they don't know when those parts will be available. This problem has been recognized by toyota since 2014. How they don't have these parts yet?

My toyota solera is going thru excessive amounts of oil!i'm continuously adding oil...and it's not leaking anywhere. ...where the hell is it going! my engine is going to burn up! i want answers!2.4 l 4-cylimder (2az-fe).

My 2007 toyota solara coupe l4-2.4l (2az-fe) has the engine oil consumption problem.this was confirmed by my service center and is in regard to the technical service bulletin t-sb-0094-11.the engine loses oil at rapid rate and gasoline gets in the oil, which could cause a fire.this is a serious engine problem which should be a recall.because toyota lists this problem only as a technical service bulletin, they say they are not required to contact the vehicle owner to make them aware of this problem.the repairs needed require major engine/piston work costing $5,000. They will not pay for this if the vehicle has over 60,000 miles. Because i cannot afford $5,000, and i need the car to get to work, i am stuck with a useless and dangerous vehicle where the engine will seize up and die. Who knows what tragedy this will cause if i am in the vehicle at the time.

Toyota solara 2007 - in 2008 i brought in my solara in three times reporting to the dealer that the motor intermittently and will suddenly rev-up on its own when cruising with the engine feathered.it happens typically between 20 and 40 mph it does not go to full throttle but it is enough that it will catch me by surprise the brakes easily stop it.the dealer said there was nothing wrong (services records are at the toyota dealer here in lakeland fl).i tried turning off the ac thinking it was revering up from the compressor cycling on and off but made no difference.i have noticed however that if i'm playing an xm radio station with heavy base music it seems to happen more often - hope this helps you folks with your investigation.

I have a 2007 toyota solara with a v-6 engine. At 79000 miles the water pump failed catastrophically and took out the timing belt, which caused the car to quit in the middle of traffic.

The contact owns a 2007 toyota solara.according to the contact, the owner's manual states that there is a seat belt warning chime for the seat belts.he stated that his vehicle does not have that feature.he took the vehicle to the dealer who stated that his vehicle does not have that safety feature.however, the manufacturer verified his vin and confirmed that the vehicle does have that feature.he contacted the dealer again and they repeated their previous statement.the technician at the dealer performed a diagnostic test that indicated the feature was not on the vehicle as it should have been.the contact feels that this is major safety hazard.the current mileage is 2,500 and the failure mileage was unknown.

Driving at night got stopped by nj state trooper for having drivers light out. Flipped light handle on and off light came back on.ten minutes later had the same problem.

My wife nearly crashed our 2007 toyota solara when the left front low beam light failed at night and then in less than five minutes the right front light low beam failed. My wife was driving approximately 70 mph on a rural stretch of i-85 in north carolina.i had replaced the right front light only three days earlier. The high beams continued to work but the next day in a test in daylight the low beams worked and then failed again within five minutes and the high beams also failed within twenty (20) minutes. I have since read the online website auto recalls for consumers (arfc) that this is a recurring problem in 2007 toyota solaras. Toyota is risking deaths by not addressing this problem.i called toyota (800-331-4331) but toyota was [xxx]and had heard nothing about nothing. The reaction would be humorous except that it happens while people are driving at high speed and it could kill them, especially at 70 mph, the legal speed limit on i-85 in rural north carolina. My wife will not drive the car anymore even in daylight because she fears a headlight problem.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

High-intensity discharge (hid) headlights work intermittently.turning them off and back on temporarily ''fixes'' the problem, but one or the other will go out again after driving more than a few minutes.occasionally both go out during the same trip which can be a bit of a shock when it is dark and the road curves.online research seems to indicate that this is a common problem on solara & prius.replacement bulbs are extremely expensive and many customers state they don't always fix the problem.

Headlights went out while traveling at night at highway speed. Lights alternately flickered on and off while switching between auto mode and on mode of headlight switch. One headlight finally went out again completely and both acting sporadically. Vehicle is the sport model with the hid headlight system.

The riders side front low beam head light operates intermittently.we received a fix it ticket; but the light worked the next day and got the ticket signed off.however the riders side low beam light continues to work and not work intermittently.out mechanic told us the high intensity light module needs to be replaced.it seems to me this is a safety issue toyota should address.

The contact owns a 2007 toyota solara. The contact stated that the head lights would sporadically fail, making it difficult for the contact to see the roadway while driving. The contact indicated that turning the head light switch off and on would correct the defect temporarily before recurring. The vehicle was diagnosed by an independent mechanic, who replaced the light bulbs for the head lights but the defect was not remedied. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 65,000.

Headlights will sporadically turn off when driving. Turning them off and back on seems to temporarily solve the issue.

I was notified myright front headlight was out early in july, 2011. I took it to be repaired and was informed that a "module" needed to be replaced because these were 'high intensity" lights. On july 12,2011 the module was ordered by my mechanic and installed on july 13, 2012. In feb, 2012 my left front headlight went out. My mechanic ordered a new module on feb 15, 2012 and was installed on march 1, 2012. In june, 2012 i was stopped by police for having only one headlight. At that time my left headlight was out again (only 3 months later). Within the next few days i noticed that intermittently my headlights would turn off while driving, sometimes the right, sometimes the left, and sometime both at the same time. If i switched from auto to on, both headlights would turn back on for about 5 mins then either one or both would shut off. If i switched from on to auto, the same would happen for a couple minutes.i returned to my mechanic, but upon driving and keeping the lights on he could not get the same thing to happen.that was on july 20, 2012. Since that time, i have had to refrain from using my car after dark, because for no apparent reason, the lights will shut off. There are times i have all lights and then another driver will inform me that i have no headlights at all. I am aware that the toyota prius had an issue with this happening and am concerned that this is a problem with this car as well.these lights and modules are expensive to replace and having to replace them every 6 months or on a car that is less than 5 years old seems ridiculous while after replacing, the problem continues.the lack of headlights and not knowing when they go out is extremely dangerous and puts me and my family at risk for injury as well as others. I would like to know if this is a general problem with toyota cars with these type of lights or an isolated case.

The contact owns a 2007 toyota solara. The contact was driving approximately 65 mph when the headlights unexpectedly failed. The high beam lights were then engaged in order to illuminate the roadway. Moments later, the similar failure occurred with the high beam lights. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where both high beam bulbs and the head lamp assembly were replaced, at different times. The failure continued to recur intermittently. The vehicle was taken to dealer and they informed the contact that all four headlight bulbs would need to be replaced and possibly, the head lamp assembly. The vehicle was not repaired for the most recent failure. The manufacturer was notified of the defect. The approximate failure was 40,000.

The contact owns a 2007 toyota camry solara.the contact stated while driving 30 mph, the headlights malfunctioned and shut off.the contact pulled over and shut off the vehicle.once the contact restarted the vehicle, the headlights resumed normal operation. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer where the dealer advised that the bulb and computer malfunctioned and caused the headlights to fail.the dealer suggested replacing the bulb and the computer.the vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 48,000.

One or the other low beam headlights randomly goes off when driving. It's a recurring problem.dealer replace both bulb and both transformers at a cost of $1160.

The passenger side hid headlight turns off while driving. I can turn it off and then back on, and it might stay on for 15 seconds to 15 minutes. Now, the driver side hid headlight is starting to do it, too. I didn't realize i had no lights until i got up on the highway where there are no street lights.

The passenger side low beam headlight will turn off within about 30 seconds of turning the headlights on. The passenger side light will be on after turning the lights off and on again. This passenger side light will then turn off again after about 30 seconds to 2 minutes. This happens whether the vehicle is in motion or stopped.

The contact owns a 2007 toyota camry solara. The contact stated that while driving at 65 mph, the headlights failed without warning. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer (wills toyota located at 318 shoshone st w, twin falls, id 83301) where it was informed that the headlights needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 128,000.

Drivers side low beam (hid) for my 2007 toyota solara sport 4cyl has been turning off.i'm unsure if this is the sign of the bulb going out or if it is simply shutting off.it comes back on and has been working, then it will happen again.*ln

One or both headlights go out every minute or two. Most often it is the right headlight, occasionally it is the left, and then a couple of times both went out at the same time. This occurs when the selector is set or automatic and manual.

Driver side low beam (hid) headlight turns off by itself in manual and auto modes. Turning the light switch off and back on brings the headlight back on but only for a short period, then it goes out again. The problem was intermittent at first but is becoming more frequent and at times both headlights will flicker intermittently.

Hid headlights turn off while driving.problem is sporadic. May include one or both lights turning off.it is not a bulb issue.similar to toyota prius hid light issues.

Toyota owns this!

Driver and/or passenger headlight will unexpectedly turn off while driving.headlights will be operating normally and without reason, one of the headlights will go out.this presents a danger to me in my vehicle as well as other vehicles on the road.if i turn off the headlights and turn them on again, the lights will go back on but you don't know for how long before they go out again.mine is a 2007 toyota solara with approximately 85,000 miles.this has occurred twice in the past couple of weeks while driving the vehicle.i've seen multiple complaints for this same issue from other solara and prius owners.

The passenger side headlamp turns off after approx. Two minutes.i can turn the lights off then back on and the light will come back on.then approx. 2 minutes later it will turn off again.i have replaced the bulb twice already.toyota stated they can take a look at it to try to determine the problem, but they want to charge me for it.i believe this is a safety defect and not normal wear and tear.

While driving the headlight go out.if i turn them off then back on they come on.some times this happens every minute or so and sometime they work fine.i have replaced the left low beam thinking i had a bad light.i think this is a safety issue and should be fixed by the manufacture.

The contact owns a 2007 toyota camry solara. The contact stated that the headlights would randomly fail without warning. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer and was told that the headlights needed to be replaced. The dealer did not provide a reason for the headlights sporadically failing. The headlights were not replaced. The vin was not available. The failure mileage was 72,000 and the current mileage was 78,000.

I am an owner of a 2007 toyota solara with what i believe to be a serious safety issue concerning the low beam lights. When driving at night the lights cast a distinctive shadow and line with darkness at top and light at the bottom. And depending on the contour of the road at times it is impossible to see and presents a clear and present driving hazard. Amd often on coming traffic think i have my high beams on and they put their high beams on blinding me to road ahead. After arbitration with a toyota representative the situation has not been addressed to my satisfaction.

Hid headlight on passenger side "flickers" on and off.apparently this is an issue for many toyota vehicles with this type of headlight, and costs a significant amt of money to repair/replace.

Throttle lag when merging into traffic or from stop. Did not have this on my 1999 solara.

Merging onto the freeway into fast-moving traffic, the car hesitated for several seconds before it downshifted and started to accelerate. On-coming cars had to brake and honked at me. That can be a dangerous situation. The car also hesitates when just slowing down to turn a corner. It takes 5 to 10 seconds for the car to accelerate.

My 2007 toyota solora cuts off as i'm driving! i just purchased this car found out it has a few recalls ! i'm scared , this is very dangerous! what's wrong with my car?

My toyota solera is going thru excessive amounts of oil!i'm continuously adding oil...and it's not leaking anywhere. ...where the hell is it going! my engine is going to burn up! i want answers!2.4 l 4-cylimder (2az-fe).

I'm having the same problem with my solara. It hesitates all the time going around corners, highway acceleration is terrible. I talked to toyota about this issue and they are no help. They have posted a bulletin to kind of fix the same issue with the v6 solara, and the camry. They have nothing for the 4 cyl.they keep telling me that the cars transmission is responding the way it should be. Something needs to be done about this. I keep taking it back to the dealership for them to reset the transmission back to the factory settings, but that only lasts for a week or two then its back to the hesitating.

I recently bought a brand new toyota solara 2007 in april 2007. Since then i have brought my car to the toyota dealer for more then 5 times in 3 months for the same defect. But they cannot repair it.i realized that the vehicle hesitate on acceleration on all occasion. Whenever i make a turn (let or right turn) the car will "pause" and lost in power, lost of transmission for seconds. The car simply "retarded" and simply roll on the road without transmission control...whenever i need to step on gas to escape from a situation on the freeway, the car again will "pause" and hesitate, i regard that the car is "retarded". It simply lost in transmission during that short pause, i felt so dangerous on the road with such defaulted vehicle. I read on the compliant from nhtsa and surprise to find that there areso many of the camry owner are facing the sameproblem. The toyota solara is also a camry breed, hence i think these amount of complaints shoud warrant the government to act against the toyota manufacturer to do a recall and repair. I am very disappointed with toyota, i hope i will not be disappointed with nhtsa to start doing something good for us the consumer with all these complaints. Sincerely.

Hesitation upon acceleration. Happens every time.

2007 toyota camry with airbag light illuminated. Consumer states that the airbag light has yet to be fixed. She believes this problem should be fixed due to the warranty.the lock on the seatbelt was inoperative.

Seat belt safety light came on and never goes off.my mechanic told me it would cost me thousand of dollars to fix. I should not have to pay for a safety feature. Also my braking system had a leak at just over 35000 miles that cost me 1300.00 and it was never on the recall list.

On the date in question, i was standing still at a red light.there was heavy rain.when the light turned green i proceeded through the intersection.the vehicle in front of me was approximately 5 car-lengths ahead of me.traffic suddenly came to an abrupt stop.i hit my brake, skidded the entire distance between myself and the vehicle stopped in front of me and hit it in the rear.my entire front-end was smashed in; the vehicle i hit was a late model ford explorer which sustained no damage.there were no injuries, however, my air bagdid not deploy, my entire front end was demolished after proceeding a short distance at a low rate of speed.there were fluids leaking and smoke emanating from under the hood. The was declared by the police to be undriveable and had to be towed to a repair shop.

The contact owns a 2007 toyota solara. While driving at speeds of 25 mph, the power steering failed. As a result, the contact was unable to maintain accurate control of the vehicle and crashed into a tree. The vehicle was destroyed. The current and failure mileages were 24,000.

My 2007 toyota solara power steering locked up initially 12/17/2009 while exiting a freeway offramp causing me to continue veering left into the curb fortunately with no injury to myself or car.the cars behind, also exiting, nearly slammed into me but had enough room to stop and swerve around.the wheel was locked for nearly 2 minutes then finally released while the car remained running with no engine failure.the same issue occurred 12/24/2009 in the evening while exiting a parking lot which again fortunately no one hit me.the steering wheel did not unlock for nearly two minutes again with no engine failure.currently the car is with toyota dealer and has had no past history of issues and undergoes regular scheduled maintenance.it is currently being further diagnosed after i filed a complaint 12/28/2009 since the service team representative was advising me the car will be released and to bring it in if another incident occurs.i am reporting this issue as the third time may be fatal to myself or others.it is unacceptable for a dealership to release a car which could cause fatality.as a result i am awaiting approval from the dealer to approve the change out all technical components that deal with the power steering.

When i brought in my 2007 toyota camry solara convertible for a faulty low tire pressure sensor, another problem was detected. I asked to see the issue while the car was up on the lift. I could observe what looked like a shredding/damaged rack and pinion power steering boot with fluid visible. The first dealer written estimate says "replace power steering rack and pinion (found power steering fluid leaking into boot of rack and pinion)" for $1354.88, plus 4-wheel alignment for $160.95.the second dealership service department recommended replacing one rack and pinion boot and that power steering fluid gasket, for $594.58 plus a $99 alignment, which i did. The dealer checked and there has not yet been a recall for this issue, but i checked online and there are multiple complaints for the same/similar issue.i am very concerned about the safety of my power steering system, whether the other gasket will leak or the system fail while driving.

2007 solara convertible continually veers to the right while driving at any speed and particularly when braking. This has been occurring since august 2009 when i bought the vehicle. I do not know whether or not this was occurring earlier than that but i suspect it may have been. I have had the tires aligned three times and those alignments did not correct the problem at all. No accident has occurred; however, it is difficult and dangerous to have to continually pull the car to the left to compensate. Also, the car is on it's third set of tires because of this steering deficiency and it has only 65,000 miles on it.

The contact owns a 2007 toyota solara.the contact heard a loud, whining noise when she turned the steering wheel.the steering wheel was replaced twice within an eight-month period.the dealer stated that her type of vehicle had a reputation for this failure; however, it could not be duplicated.the current mileage was 10,500 and failure mileage was approximately 6,000. The contact owns a 2007 toyota camry solara. The contact stated that the dashboard was melting causing a glare, which impaired the drivers view of the road. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where a remedy was not available for the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 17,800.

Dashboard is sticky and melting.

I noticed my dashboard was sticky and cracking and melting. I immediately went to the toyota dealership in pompano beach. Pictures were taken by the dealership and submitted to toyota demonstrating the defects.i received a letter from toyota refusing to do anything to fix the problem.i contacted toyota myself and spoke to several people in the company voicing my concerns and demanded someone investigate this problem as i have done my own investigation noting that every toyota of my model and age have the same issues with the dashboard and interior melting and cracking.i was told both by letter and on the phone that my car was over the warrantee and they would not be responsible .i told toyota that this was a safety hazard and their product was inferior and that my 2002 honda accord did not have issues melting so why should my 2007 toyota be literally melting and cracking.

I have a 2007 toyota solara convertible that is in pristine condition. It is garaged and out the sun and is kept clean inside and out. A month after i purchased from a dealer the dash began cracking by the steering wheel, around the ignition and on the glove box trim. I took it to a interior trim specialist and said he has seen dozens of this model with the identical program. It begins as a small crack and then spreads like a spider web. It is a beautiful car that is not resellable with this problem.

The dashboard all the way across over the instrument panelarea is cracked and also the glove box compartment area is cracked.

Cracks all over dashboard and glove compartment. Cracks and peeling not warranted. Car was previously garaged and also window cover to prevent heat. Many claims against toyota for the same problem.

I recently bought this car from a friend. Did not realize until after i purchased the car that the dashboard is a lot worse than i thought. It is gummy and cracked all over. I bought the car because the exterior looks great and it runs like new, but the dashboard now appears to be a real problem. It will be expensive and how do i know the same thing will not happen to the new one. I along with hundreds and soon to be thousands of people who feel toyota should do something about this issue. It could turn into a safety issue if the air bags are affected.

Dash began having cracks about a year ago.now concerned that this might have something to do with the recent airbag recall.

The dash of my 2007 toyota camry solara began to melt and crack in 2012, creating an extremely sticky surface as well as a severe glare on the windshield.this has continued to worsen over the last two years. The stickiness and glare worsen with high temperatures which is a critical issue when living in florida. Even when i travel to northern states in the winter, the stickiness and severe glare does not completely go away in freezing temperatures. I can gently touch my dash and leave a finger imprint at any time of the year and in any temperature. The glare greatly reduces the driver's visibility at any time of the year however, during the hottest months of the year the glare is so severe that it is nearly impossible to see what is ahead. I have nearly been in accidents and have come close to hitting pedestrians in parking lots because of the severe glare. I have resorted to "bobbing and weaving" to find an area of the windshield i can see through (typically a one-inch area where the air vent is reflecting very low on the windshield) or even rolling down the side window to stick my head out during situations such as these. I can only imagine that this will continue to worsen with time.this is a major safety concern and needs to be rectified immediately!this issue needs to be addressed by the manufacturer before an accident occurs!

Numerous cracks over entire dashboard that may cause problems if airbags are caused to deploy.

The contact owns a 2007 toyota camry solara. While driving at any speed, the dashboard melted due to the sun. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 148,000.

My 2007 solara has a very sticky dash to the point that if i have any paper on it, i have to peel it off the dash with pieces still stuck on the dash.it is so shiny and produces so much glarethat i have to wear uv sunglasses when driving. This is terrible. Theamount of cracks are "growing" on the dash.this was very noticable over a year ago, but i didnt understand the extent until i took it to my toyota service and he told me it was a common problem.it was reported on 10/10 & the toyota service dept came back & told me that the car was out of warranty and they refused to do anything.i can tell you that this is my fifth toyota, including a 98 camry that i still own and none of them ever had this problem.i am extremely disatisfied that toyota will now repair this potential hazard and am filing this complaint, as i now realize i am not the only one with this problem.

Dashboard shine reflect the sun.

I called toyota dealer and told them, they took pictures and acknowledged defective parts.i was told it would cost me $250.00 for laboras the new dash would cost them $1500.00, i argued this was unacceptable and unfair that i would have to pay being their fault.

Dashboards melting and causing a glare on the windshield that impairs driving ability. This is completely unsafe on the road, i cannot see where i am driving. May also affect drivers side air bag because of deteriorating dashboard.

Design defect-when it rains water pours in the drivers door ever since i bought the car/dealerand toyota refuse to fix it/ driver gets soaked when i open the door in the rain while still sitting in the drivers seat.

The dashboard has been sticky for 3 years, with a glare on the right side when driving. I have contacted my toyota dealer x3 during routine maintainence and have told them the problem. Toyota says they are not responsible for this and it is out of warranty and i can have it replaced for more than $3,000.00. Toyota denies that this is a manufacturer problem. My glove compartment has cracked and split also, even though i have not opened the glove compartment in 1 year. There is a web site-"sticky dashboard/toyota solara with over 700 complaints, and toyota denies any knowledge of this web site. I have notified toyota corporate office with this complaint, case# 1401170834over 18 months ago with no follow-up from toyota.on august 27, wfla tv from tampa, florida had a segment on a venice toyota owner with the same sticky dashboard melting problem and toyota refusing to fix his problem.my car is essential to my work and other commitments, and i hope this can be resolved in the near future. Thank-you.

Dashboard is melting and is sticky to the touch.this condition is leaving a very dangerous glare on the windshield making it almost impossible to see through in the afternoon.

All of a sudden, the dashboard on my solar became sticky and started to crack in multiple spots.after doing a little research online, i learned that the solara and other toyota models had issues with the dashboards.i learned that my issues was not isolated.countless other toyota owners were reporting the same issue online.shortly after learning this, i took my solara to my local toyota dealership for assistance and was told "there is nothing we can do for you".toyota acknowledged and recognized the issue with my dashboard - even made mention of customers with the same issue - yet refused to take any action.in summary, i was told by toyota that the repair cost of my damaged dashboard - despite their knowledge of the poor quality materials used in its construction - would not be coved by toyota.additionally, i was told that the cost of a replacement dashboard would cost as much as $2000 and that the new dash my in fact also show signs of cracking shortly after installation.how can toyota ignore this matter when so many other owners too have reported this matter.

I own a 2007 toyota camry solara with less than 70,400 miles. Itā€™s up to date on maintenance and is garaged. In december 2020, while garaged, my entire dashboard cracked without warning. After researching the condition, i learned that hundreds of camrys andsolaras were affected and that toyota replaced some dashboards under an extended warranty programā€¦ one such ze6 program expired in august 2020. I was not notified. Despite the tremendous safety issue (the entirety of the carā€™s electronics sits beneath the dashboard including the airbags which, if deployed, can hurl dashboard pieces throughout the interior and blind and disfigure driver and passengers alike). Incredibly, neither toyota nor nhtsa has issued a recall. Toyota corp/dealership will do nothing at their expense. I iive in fear that if my car is bumped or tapped, iā€™ll be maimed by flying dashboard debris; this puts my passengers and pedestrians at risk as well.please help me get my dashboard replaced before something unthinkable happens. Thank you.

The rear glass heated window leaks like a sive.it's molded up my trunk and i have to let the water out by dislodging the trunk plug so it doesn't accumulate.not cool, but i do love the drive!add a scarf and it feels like paris...we just keep adding sealant in black to keep the water out every fall before the rain kicks in.

This is a correction to my complaint #11046531 which contained an incorrect date.here is the corrected complaint.thank you.the dash began to have small cracking a few years ago but i didn't think much of it but just this month the cracks enlarged and spread. I looked on line to see if others were having a problem and many people had. I phoned toyota 800-331-4331 and described the problem. They told me that they had a recall program but it expired may 31 2017 and they can't do anything about it now. They said they sent me a letter via us mail but i told them i never received it nor was i aware of their recall program. She also said if my dealership had noticed it they could have told me about it. I had my car in the dealership 12/2015 and they never mentioned anything about a recall program. I get my oil changed somewhere else closer to home and didn't have my car in to the dealer since 12/2015 so the toyota support person told me there is nothing they have to do for me now. I feel toyota never notified me about this recall program and would like them to fix or replace my dash board.

My 2007 toyota camry solara's dashboard cover is a sticky gooey mess.

My car dashboard is melting and when i drive it's reflected on the windshield it is destructive and hard to drive.

On monday july 30th, i took my 2008 toyota solara convertible into hiland toyota's dealership in moline, illinois and discussed the problem of the defective dashboard that is currently melting in my car.i have noticed this starting to occur since july 16th, 2018 when i was making a turn and my fingernail got caught within the dashboard. I am also blinded by the reflections on the windshield caused by the sticky dashboard and it's creating a film on the inside of the windshield that is difficult to see through, even with multiple cleanings.hiland toyota observed the defective dashboard and offered no assistance since it was after the may 31st, 2017 extended warranty. I have also attached pictures of the windshield that is filmed up after cleaning it the day before, and of the fingernail print. This problem has affected numerous toyota and lexus owners and toyota has not done much about this issue.even with the extended warranty of may 31st, 2017, multiple class action lawsuits have mentioned that toyota doesn't have the replacement parts and said owners are waiting years after first contact to get repairs started.in my case, i contacted toyota (file number #1808222394) about fixing the defective dashboard and they responded that after may 31st, 2017, they refuse to do anything about it. This is the first toyota that i have purchased, however, this defective dashboard is making it unsafe to drive my car and many others agree, resulting in legal consequences.i am currently filling out a complaint with the national highway traffic safety administration, in case something does happen.i am also appalled that a company that regards itself as a 'leader' in the auto industry can let people walk off their dealership driving an unsafe car that they engineered, produced, and obviously don't stand behind.

The dash has all cracked.

Dashboard is melting. Very sticky. And reflecting on windshield.

There is a major delay at times when the car is asked to accelerate- if going approx 20 mph and want to accelerate into fast lane you never know how long it will take the car to respond to the depressed gas peddle. The car also appears to drop a gear occ when slowing down. Toyota states this is because the car has learned the way you like to drive and responds that way.won't allow anyone else to drive the car due to this danger and unpredictabilityhas always acted this way.

I own a 2007 camry solara, my cars gas pedal gets stuck when i am at a stop light and proceed into traffic the cars momentarily stays in an idled position for several seconds, until it kicks forward and accelerates. I am afraid to drive the car and financially i am still paying for a car that is parked, because i do not feel it safe to drive. Toyota needs to put the camry solara on the list. I took it to the dealership, and without the recall they refuse to even diagnose or repair my car, at my expense no less, i do not feel that solara owners should be ignored and financially responsible. I do not want to hurt myself or anyone else by taking a chance on driving a car that is out of control. Put the solara's on the recall list, and make myself and other drivers at ease with a repair and gas pedal replacement immediately.

I have a 2007 toyota solara sle. I experienced throttle / shift lag when starting out from a dead start.the tachometerwill jump to 1500 or higher rpms before the car moves.

On sept. 1, 2008, i was driving north through pa. On i-79.i was using the cruise control on my 2007 toyota camry solara for the first time.i pulled into a rest area.as i was about to pull into a parking space, i stopped for some pedestrians to pass by.when i took my foot off the brake to pull into the parking space, my car suddenly accelerated at a very high speed as if i had put my foot on the gas pedal all the way to the floor.i assure you, i barely touched the gas pedal.as a consequence, the car went over a high curb, went through a picnic area and down a hill into some weeds before i could bring it to a stop.i really had to push on the brake with all my strength.i had no control over the car or its speed.as a result, i hit a person walking in the picnic area and she sustained very serious injuries.i have received a careless driving citation and may be facing a major lawsuit.i feel i had no control over the vehicle and that it is unsafe to drive, at least with the cruise control.i believe the cruise control did not disengage when i pulled off the highway and put my foot on the break.i have not taken the car to a toyota dealership for fear they would just cover up the problem.

The contact owns a 2007 toyota solara. The contact was driving approximately 30 mph, attempting to make a left turn. The engine rpms began to increase excessively and increased acceleration without warning. When the brake pedal was engaged there was no power response which caused the vehicle to crash into another vehicle, and then continued to accelerate. The gear was shifted into the neutral position and the vehicle was driven against the curb to stop. Apolice report was filed of the incident. There was no personal injury. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where they were unable to duplicate the problem. The identical failure recurred two years later. There was no injury. The dealer refused to perform a diagnostic test after the contact agreed to pay the fee. The failure mileage was 27,000.the consumer stated the accelerator would become stuck while driving. As she proceeded to step on the accelerator pedal, the vehicle would move forward, under continuous foot pressure the pedal would get stuck and momentarily stayed in an idled position for several seconds. I can only imagine that this will continue to worsen with time.this is a major safety concern and needs to be rectified immediately!this issue needs to be addressed by the manufacturer before an accident occurs!

Dash pad is sticky and shiny and lights from cars, and street lights reflectoff of it into the driver's eyes.it occurs from oncoming vehicles when on narrow roads and lights from stores and street lights in commercial areas

Dashboard shine reflect the sun.

This past summer (2020) the dash of my 2007 toyota camry got very sticky and made a reflection on my windshield making visibility impaired which is a huge hazard. You cannot see through the windshield.i researched it today and found out toyota extended its warranty for this problem, but it expired in 2017.my problem didn't start until 2020.i want the national traffic highway safety administration to investigate this and require toyota to do a recall for this problem.

A low noise like the vehicle was being driven in a lower gear than drive. The vehicle was taken to david maus toyota. The service advisor stated the right front wheel bearing and hub were bad. I questioned a wheel bearing going out at 14000 miles. The service advisor said we should drive the car more. I contacted the toyota distributor who contacted the toyota service rep. The service rep said due to age toyota would not repair it. He further stated that the car should be driven more. I took the car to phillips toyota in leesburg, florida. They checked the vehicle and found both front wheel bearings and one front hub bad. They replaced both bearings and a hub. Since this did not sound like a wheel bearing had it not been found, it could have caused the front wheels to lock up which could have resulted in an accident. There is no mention in any of toyota's material telling the customer that they should drive the vehicle a specified number of miles during a certain time period.
