Toyota 4runner air bag recall notice. Consumer states that he never received the recall for the suspension on his vehicle. *njthe consumer was involved in an accident. He lost control of the vehicle and subsequently hit several tress head on. The airbags did not deploy. The vehicle was totaled. Recall # 02v021000.
Front end collision occurred and air bag equipment did not deploy.*mrthe vehicle was hit in the front and rocked over the hood in which the air bags did not deploy.there was extensive damage to the vehicle.the consumer had requested adequate information as to why the air bags did not deploy.*scc
Temperature gauge failed to show vehicle was over heating.
Thermostat failed, causing antifreeze to leak onto inside of engine, resulting in odor emitting inside of vehicle/overheating.*skd
While the vehicle was in operation a foul odor came from the exhaust.*nlm
Vehicle's driver seat moves when brakes are applied. *mr the consumer was told that this was normal.the consumer witnessed other 4 runners that displayed the exact problem. *sc
Toyota 4 runner. Brakesnot performing as designed.*cwthe consumer stated when she attempted to stop the vehicle, the brakes would pulsate and either not stop the vehicle or stopped in a pumping motion. As the vehicle stopped in a pumping motion, it would cause every one in the vehicle to be jerked around as if she slammed on the brakes .
Toyota had serious allegations in japan of hiding recalls for 8 to 12 years. Just recently wrong death suits also arrived for the steering arm problems. In lieu of their recent toyota fraud and racketeering lawsuits again for hiding evidence, isn't it time to look into their practices. The media will not report their practices to the public . Friends have said toyota has had them come in for an oil change only to have the front end worked on. Are they trying to fix recalls without notifying anyone? i heard they call them customer notifications . Is this legal?
While driving, consumer lost control of the vehicle, the back end began spinning out and the vehicle began going sideways, vehicle went off the road and rolled over, one person was injured in the accident.
Severely corroded frame
Frame has rusted through.
Farfield toyota went to put my 4-runner on the lift for tire rotation, wheel balance and front end alignment. Mechanic started to lift it up when he heard a crunching noise. He said my frame was giving away so he lowered back down. Guy said his brother-in-laws 99 4-runner did the same thing in the same place up in by the gas tank.took it to get it repaired and frame was very bad in by the gas tank.guy said he has fixed many with the same problem.why are they not being recalled like the trucks. Same issue.the more research i did the more i see how big this problem is. It's a shame because the rest of the vehicle is in good shape. Toyota should look into fixing this issue. Dangerous to let it go!!!!

The consumer received recall notice 02v-021 or the rear suspension, the recall notice stated that the repair would take approximately 30 min but after 4 1/2 hours the dealer notified the consumer that the parts to make the repairs were not available, several weeks have passed and the recall has not been completed.nlm
