The contact owns a 2008 tomberlin e-40. The contact stated that while traveling 21 mph, the vehicle failed to accelerate despite the accelerator pedal being depressed. The vehicle was towed to a private mechanic. The mechanic confirmed that the throttle box needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was contacted. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileages were unknown. Updated 11/1/12 updated 11/1/2012the mechanic noted the accelerator box was filled with water. The screws holding the box were rusted through and the box with the accelerator control panel was not a water tight box.the mechanic also stated the undercarriage of the tomberlin was not at all water-proof. Rusted connectors and the brake cable was rusting as well.the consumer also stated he had problems with tire wear and the effectiveness of the battery. Updated 02/20/13
