2010 thor windsport.consumer writes in regards to transfer switch recall notice issues.when the consumer contacted the dealer, about the recall, he was informed his motorhome did not have the recalled part installed in his rv. However, three weeks later, the consumers wife noticed a hot electric wire odor. He immediately checked the recalled part and discovered it had overheated and nearly caused a fire.he immediately had the part replaced. He called the manufacturer again, and it reiterated that it was not possible the part was in his motorhome, because they stopped installing the part in campers as of may 2009, and the consumers coach was manufactured in july 2009. The consumer referenced recall # 12v516000.
The contact owns a 2010 thor windsport. The contact heard a popping noise and the vehicle suddenly lost power. The contact indicated that the instrument panel gauges shut off while the engine was still running. The contact turned the key and the vehicle was not able to be restarted due to the failure. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic who was unable to diagnose and repair the vehicle. The vin was included in nhtsa campaign number: 13v265000 (electrical system) and the dealer completed the recall repair. The contact was not notified of the safety recall. The vin was not available.
