The contact owns a 2008 thor motor coach windsport. While driving 80 mph, the engine seized without warning. The contact called for assistance and was informed that there was a loose connection. The motorhome was repaired and able to be driven to the contact's destination. After being parked for a month, the failure recurred. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. A dealer was not contacted. The contact associated the failure with nhtsa campaign number: 13v265000 (electrical system). The manufacturer was notified and stated that the motor home was serviced per the recall in 2013. The failure mileage was unknown. *dt
We were pulling into a gas station when the engine shut off and we had no control over the motorhome. After a period of time the coach started and we went on our way. An hour later upon arriving back home pulling into the storage facility where we keep the coach it shut off again and we were able to roll to a stop. I called thor motor company as i was really upset they informed me that there was a recall and they did not know why we never received a notice. I informed them that there is some thing wrong with this coach and i was afraid to get in it again. If you are on a trip and the leveling system drop to the pavement while driving then the electrical stop and you have not control over the coach while driving. Would you be scared to go out on the road in it again? the employee at thor informed me they would fix the electric problem, me being afraid of getting back in it was not something they could help me with. We paid a lot of money for this unit and still paying. Why do i feel like they don't care how worried i am the next time could be my last time?

We purchased our motorhome at a show. After picking up and returning home we were surprised that the first rain the entire cabinetry, tv area in the front of the unit was destroyed by water. We returned the coach to the dealer where we purchased, after several months, many calls we received the coach back. They had to replace the entire area above the drive bay. The sink had rusted from something placed in the sink, which they received a sick from thor but could not locate every time i spoke to them to bring in to replace and since they are not in business so the sink never replaced. I do not know what caused the leaks but this was the start of a number of problems with this coach.
There were 6 people on vacation heading out highway 80 in penn. We had slowed for construction when the hydraulic leveling system on the motorhome start making noise. I know the noise but we are driving this should not be happening. We saw smoke out the drivers side of the coach and the leveling system was engaging and dropped to the pavement. It was only by chance that we were going so slow because of construction as i would hate to see what would of happened if we were going the speedlimit. We were able to limp to the side of the road with the levelers in down position. I grabbed the fire extinguisher and everyone jumped off the motorhome. Although it never caught fire there was lots of smoke and i was ready. One of the men climbed underneath and disconnected the harness that ran the motor to the leveling system which is where the smoke was coming from. We sat on the side of the road for a long time and one by one the men were able to get the levelers back up and disconnect the leveling system. The vacation did not go as planned, we did get it fixed a week later after vacation was over.
