We were trapped in our rv at the gas station. We were parked and attempting to exit to get gas. We pulled the door latch (manufactured by trimark corp) to exit but the door would not open. The plunger would not retract from the lock position. Eventually we were able to use a kitchen knife as a screwdriver (since our tools are kept outside of the motor coach) to remove the inside door handle assembly. We then had to pry the plunger to the inside to disengage it. We were then able to push the door open in order to exit. From that point we had to use the dead bolt to secure it closed.
The contact owns a 2016 thor vegas rv. The contact stated that the rv was taken to the lacey days dealer in tampa, florida for scheduled maintenance and the main door would not open. The service technician had to crawl through one of the windows to enter the rv. The inside plate was removed, but the door could not be opened. The mechanic had to pry open the door with a pry bar. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 9,000.
Wipers aren't aligned properly. During use they bump into each other causing them to lock up. Multiple trips to dealer to fix hasn't improved problem. Dealer says it is a known issue with thor affecting multiple models but nothing has been done to correct the problem, which seems to be in the design of the wiper arm angle. Had to use shorter wiper blades than recommended to try and ease the problem but that reduces visibility which is also a safety hazard. Due to problem and limited adjustibility, wipers do not fully cover the windshield stopping within the direct eyesight both in front of driver as well as passenger.
