I am not the owner of this vehicle . Just rv tech doing prep for delivery multiple opd failures . Armebe asme lp tank(s) on motorhomes.. I personally have seen at least a dozen failures. Our filling equipment has been checked and is up to date . I'mmaster certified rv tech. Licensed to pump and service lp in the state of florida. I was told to fill the "old fashioned way". Not to use opd. This has been going on since 2014 . I always test opd on new tanks . No problem with manchester or common travel trailer tanks. Only the armebe tanks. The opd is an important appurtenance on propane cylinders. In section 5.7.3 of nfpa 58 we have the requirements for opd's including functionality under ansi/ul 2227 and for cylinders to retroactively have these devices if they are to be filled. I would suggest contacting the department of transportation or the consumer safety board if you believe there is an issue with cylinders in service. Nfpa publishes safety standards but does not enforce them or regulate the industry.the pictures are all some of the tanks that failed. I was told by an executive in the rv industry that all it will take is someone not paying attention during the filling process and you could have a potential bomb !!
