I am the owner of a 2004 suzuki verona. Within 2 weeks of purchase this car has been in the shop up to at least 20 times. Check engine light goes on and off every other day or so. That really did not bother me so much. Last winter the car decided to not accept fuel. They fixed the problem after about 2 weeks. For the last 4 or more months this car stalls, it surges, it accelerates above 3000 rpm at stop lights, it almost or does die at intersections, it just decides to not go 60 and slows you down to 40 like the brakes have come on. I carry around my 4 year old everyday in this car i work 60 miles from my home. Everyday i do not know what this car will do and it scares me that my son and i will be in an accident or how will it be like on ice and snow this winter. This car takes a big chunk of my paycheck and i feel it would be better if i didn't drive this car. Suzuki this car is a joke never again would i ever buy another suzuki anything. I believe this calls for some action on all these people in this situation. Make it right suzuki.
I have a 2004 suzuki verona my key has been getting jammed in the ignition for the past two years but i have been able to start the car.now the car won't start at all i put the key and the ignition and it won't turn.i have turn the steering wheel, checked the shift gears and lock and unlocked the car-nothing seems to work. I think this is a manufacture problem not normal wear and tear this vehicle is only 6 years old and i have been having this problem for the past 2 years.the manufacture should pay for the faulty ignition.

There were no warning lights illuminated prior the incident.a recall letter was received in reference to the ignition switch however the recall was not listed in the office of defect investigation database.the dealership performed several repairs but the problem persisted every time the vehicle was stopped at an intersection. There was progressively worsening difficulties to restart the engine.there was also a loud noise in the engine while driving on interstate highways. The vehicle was taken to the dealer twenty times. An attempt was made to pursue the lemon law but advice was provided to give the dealership another attempt to solve the engine defect.the engine was evenreplaced but the problems persisted. Eventually, the lemon law was no longer applicable because the vehicle had more than 18,000 miles.the dealership finally determined the engine problem was due to defective injectors.the manufacturer was contacted who left the resolution up to the dealership.

I bought a 2004 suzuki verona 4 door sedan, in october 2003. Since then i have taken it to the dealership numerous times, they keep sending me away without fixing it, they say when the car stalls thats the way it was designed. And all the cars i have owned in the past i've never heard of thembeing designed to stall!! it does not accelerate properly, the car stalls miss fires when cold, it doesn't shift right, the service person said that it was my driving (bull)! the mechanic supposed to fix the clock three times and still doesn't work, the heated seats don't work properly, the cigerette liter doesn't work, they said it was the fuse but the fuses are good. I am extremely unhappy with the proformance of this car, they have told me that nobody else has had any complaints, that mine is the first.there needs to be something done before somebody gets hurt or even killed, especiallytoday when i tried to pull out into traffic and it didn't wont to accelerate it started to go and it wouldn't move, after i proceeded to go it wouldn't do nothing almost causing me to get hit by an on coming car, that wouldn't slow down!!! disgusted in south carolina!!! i would not reccomend a suzuki to anyone, they are all junk. *lape04062_cat
Bought this horrible car for $4,300 of financial aid money with "as is, no warranty". Owner said he'd fix the problem but did not even though he's not obliged to, but he went against his words for fixing the car. He said his mechanic will buy the new hose for the engine which he did, but did not put in a filter as said. Then they did not fix the oxygen sensor or put on new brake pads or rotors as said.the brakes and rotors are severely damage, and the oxygen sensor is busted. The coolant & anti-freeze tube burst, the left blinker blinks really fast, the smog light button doesn't work, the wheel alignment is off. It is just a terrible car i have bought wrongly.
Initially car had minor electrical issues, i.e. Clock would not work, problems with passenger side power windows.right wheel hub assembly had to be replaced. Check engine light, surging and stalling at idle, upon filling gas tank, it would stop every gallon of gas put in, faulty intake manifold gasket had to be replaced. New spark plugs, air filter, clogged throttle body. Car now stalls/dies at idle when first starting up, outside temp gauge works intermittently, car suddenly loses power at intersections, loses power when making turns, jerks while driving at low speeds, feels like breaks are being applied driving downhill at highway speeds, air conditioner causes rpms to go below 750 and surge. These cars are a death trap on wheels and need to be fixed or replaced at no cost to the owner before someone gets killed!
I have gas tank cracked or leaked close to a rear and left wheel tire include gas smell and evap leaks. I have aproblem when filling gas stop trigger.

Nhtsa campaign 04v396000; suzuki issued an engine stalling recall. This vehicle was not included in the recall, due to vin.but, it stalled, andthe check engine light came on. ......also, replaced intake manifold and oxygen sensor.
I have a 2004 suzuki verona and about 3000 miles it stalled after driving it with the airconditioner set at about 72 degrees in hot weather the car restarted about 2-3 hours after cooling off. I have experienced this about 3 times now. I took the car into the dealer the first time it happened and they could not do anything to it because the car was working properly. The 3rd time it happened was at the dealership after driving it for an 1 1/2 in hot weather again. It is currently there and what made it interesting is that there is another verona being serviced for the same reason. Both suzuki headquaters and the dealer are being very cooperative and are working with me to resolve the issue.pe04062_cat
I have a 2004 suzuki verona purchased may 2004 from tao suzuki, fuquay varina, nc.almost from the start the vehicle has had a history of frequently running rough and/or stalling out.a couple of times i almost got hit by other vehicles as a result of the stalling. Dealer has made adjustments to the fuel m ixture and stated that it should be fine.it continues to occasionally run rough and also stalls out.the latest incident was today, 29 april 2005.i feel it is a potential hazard to drive.
I am having serious problems with my lifters where there is a continuous rattling sound, as well as a continuous tapping sound.i was never informed when i purchased my car brand new in november 2004 that there were any recalls on this vehicle as i have never received any information.
While driving between 30 to 35 mphvehicle intermittently stalled.this caused the loss of steering andbrakes. Consumer was able to pull out of the road, this incident happened twicein the last 6 months. Dealer and the manufacturer were notified.pe04062_cat
Purchased a 2004 verona on 10/01/2003 and this is my fourth trip back to the dealer for service for the same issue of rough idle, hesitation and thick white smoke coming out of the exhaust.vehicle has also stalled and i consider a safety risk when trying to accelerate from stops the vehicle does not move or when trying to pass other vehiclesor going up an upgrade and the vehicle does not down shift at times.pe04062_cat

At speeds of 65-75 mph on the highway after about 15 minutes slowing down to get off the highway, the engine is loud and sounds like a diesel engine. Sounds like top end rocker arm knocking, i took it to the dealer and they said that they could not take the car over 55mph. I told them it only does it between 65-75 whicj is the speed limit on the highways south of the car dealer. They only took it at 55mph and did not hear it. There is one other reference complaint that i have found here that states he is going through the same thing. Ref # 10095916 .
Vehicle randomly stalls while driving, resulting loss poor brakes and steering.
Vwhile driving vehicle continued to stall and shut off.once brakes wereapplied the brakes this also happened.consumer statedmanufacturer said therewas nothing they could do.
I bought my suzuki verona jan 2004 and had problems from the first week. The radio would not work because they couldn't find the code so they had to take it out to reprogram, the car would not go forward when i hit the gas pedal, the transmission would jerk, then worst of all it would just cut off whether sitting still or in motion. In that six month period, i had to drive 6 loaner vehicles. People began to ask me if i owned a car lot because i was always in a different car! ;o)so i filed a lemon law claim and after 6 months i got a brand new verona. But the story doesn't end there because after 1 month and a half of my new verona replacement, it cut off on me while i was driving down the street. Same problem as my first verona.the thing that got me during my first ordeal was the fact that suzuki did not believe me which is why i had to go file a claim. But now, from what i have been told this time around, my car along with 3 other veronas are now sitting in the shop waiting for suzuki to come and fix them. So i am in loaner car number 7.good luck to you all who have not experience any problems. But if you do, don't let them fool you. I am a witness that this car has major problems. Pe04062_cat

This car stalls and missfires when cold. Suzuki has a recall on this but only for certain areas of the contry. The dealers i called do not know anything about this recall #xcpe04062_cat
Periodic low idle miss occurred first for the last several months, occasionally, the check engine light would come on with it for a very short time. Now, the engine stalls out at traffic stops. Have recently been experiencing a forward surge upon pressing on the gas feed from a stop or low speed.i feel that my safety is at risk, i am afraid to make a left turn for fear the car will stop in front of oncoming traffic, be rear ended, or i could surge forward into another vehicle or pedestrian.i do not get any type of warning that this about to occur (the check engine light does not come on typically, and if it does come on occasionally with this problem, it does not light up until after the surge or power failure occurs. I am contacting the local dealership (52 miles away is the closest one).

2004 suzuki verona problems with jolting after being stopped. Consumer states that when the accelerator was depressed the engine would not register it right away until about 3 seconds or so then the vehicle would lurch forward.the consumer also stated the check engine light would illuminate as well. While driving, suddenly the vehicle started dropping speed, the engine was running; there was simply no connection between the running engine and the gas pedal. Because the consumer had the cruise control set, the gas pedal lodged into the floor board trying to maintain cruising speed.several components were replaced to try and resolve the problem such as the transmission, head gaskets, pcv, fuel pressure regulator, fuel pump, catalytic converter, and o2 sensor. The abs light illumined in october 2006. In march 2007 a new abs module wasinstalled.
Since i first bought this car in dec 2004 i have had problems, the car was bought brand newthe car has repeatedly cutoff in the middle of traffic, equipment failure that some how can never be duplicated when it is taken to the dealer. Suzuki and the dealership i purchased the car from are aware of the problems that i have had with this car. The cutting off has been going on for almost 3 years without it properly being fixed. This car is a lemon after all the problems i have experienced with this car the company stopped making them a year after i purchased mine, this was according to the dealership that i purchased my verona from. Within 15-30 days of having the vehicle the problems started, it was in the shop enough that we were told one more time and the dealership would have to swap us out with a new one, we did not want a new one we wanted our money back, however the owner of the dealership refused. We have been attempting to get this matter taken care of with this car, it is no longer under warranty so all expenses have to be paid by me, but it is the same problems that i have been dealing with for 3 years.

I purchased my vehicle in oct 2003.since then i have taken it in numerous times, where i was told at one time the vehicle was "designed to stall".never heard that before.anyhow, it stalls, even now the weather is warmed up, it still stalls from time to time.it also does not accelerate properly, i had contacted suzuki who claimed they would call me back and never have to this day.i have had a fuel pump put in, the hold button needed to be fixed because it depressed and wouldn't depress (while i was cleaning vehicle).it hesitates when driving at a steady pace as well.the customer service i have received from both the dealer and suzuki is terrible.whenever i am approached in public while traveling and people ask how i like my suzuki and it's warranty, i tell them don't buy it and you will need the warranty.i have never bought a brand new car before.since we purchased the verona we have since purchased a 2004 dodge neon, while not fancy, it runs great and the dealership is awesome.i told them about my experience at suzuki and told them i hope they would treat me better, so far so good.the suzuki dealership said i could trade the verona in and they would give me $16,000 for it, while we just paid $21,000.great deal!that would be like renting a car for 4 months at $1,000 per month.we decided to keep the car and keep taking it in when we have time to do so.i would highly recommend that no one purchase this car unless they are bored and want to drive their mechanic around town in their spare time.pe04062_cat

The contact owns a 2004 suzuki verona. The vehicle stalled when it was idle and when she attempted to accelerate at a stop sign. This has occurredsince she purchased the vehicle. The failure does not occur at highway speeds; however, she is uncomfortable with the safety risk involved when the vehicle lost power. On four occasions, the dealer stated that the code isn't being read by the machine and the check engine light is not illuminated. The failure mileage was 11,000 and the current mileage was 25,000.
Purchased suzuki verona in april, 2004.noticed early on that the engine sounded too loud.when car is heated and upon acceleration it gets louder.the engine idles rough like a diesel engine and at times knocks.i have mentioned to the service dept.everytime i take it in for oil changes and they act like they don't hear or know what i am talking about. I even had the tech. Ride around with me so that he could hear what i was talking about.he mentioned it could belifters or timing chain and would have the office call to see if there were any recalls. Very reluctant to do anything. Finally in september the car stalled in the middle of the street. Had to be towed home.started up again the next day.then i received the recall notice.the ecm has been replaced and no more stalling so far, but the engine just does not sound right.no response from the dealer.currently car only has 6,800 miles on it but it sounds like it is twenty years old.again no response from dealer.they don't seem interested in trying to fix the problem.i will not recommend this car to anyone and am sorry to say that i regret purchasing the suzuki verona.
Vehicle has ran poorly since about 2 months after purchase.constant vibration in steering wheel and under vehicle.have had stalling issues and acceleration issues.have taken to dealer several times and they can never duplicate problem.they are now blaming the problem on "faulty tires".have had tires replaced and no improvement to drivability of car.have almost been hit 2 times in traffic due to acceleration problems.dealer refusing to work on vehicle now even though under warranty.also problem with radio controls on steering wheel.although the part was replaced, 2 weeks later i am experiencing the same problem.
Received recall notice for a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in all 2004 suzuki verona passenger vehicles.campaign id number : 04v396000 consequence: engine stalling could result in a crash.instead of replacing the defective part the service dealer reprogramed it.the consumer was told that the service dealership should receive the software to update the part any day now. The consumer was told that the malfunction only occurs at severe temperature extremes. *tc
After fox valley suzuki reprogrammed my computer due to recall, the engine has a lifter knock, especially after going 55-65 mph on the highway. Sounds like a diesel engine. Took it to the dealer twice, they say that it is normal, but i know that it is not normal. Also when ac is on, there is a whing noise while the car is in motion, dealer claims they cannot hear. Left turn signal sticks, dealer claimed that they fixed, but sticks on during hot weather. I am afraid that the engine is going to blow, i have been driving the car on the highway back and forth to work with the lifter knock. Please help! thank you.
While driving 30 mph vehicle stalled. Consumer restarted vehicle, and took itto the dealer for inspection twice, andmechanic could not duplicate the problem. Dealer refused to return the vehicle to consumer due to safety problem, and not being able to duplicate the problem. Pe04062_cat

Engine knocks, stalls & dies, rough idling, hesitates, jerking, engine surges when stopped..dies while slowing down..check engine light comes on all the time.dealer reset computer, replaced throttle body assy, performed tsb & recalibrated pcm, replaced both oxygen sensors.
The contact owns a 2004 suzuki verona.while driving 30-40 mph the vehicle would stall and jerk.the dealer stated that oxygen sensors needed to be replaced.they replaced the sensors; however, the failure continued to occur.approximately two months later the dealer replaced the head assembly gasket and pc filter; however, the failure continued to occur.as of august 14, 2007, the failure has not been corrected.the failure mileage was 8,431 and the current mileage was 27,000. The vehicle has stalled on 3 occasions. Updated 09/11/07.
Dt: consumer had to put a new engine in the car. The check engine light came on before they replaced the engine. The engine light came on 4 times on after they replaced the engine.they replaced some of the sensors. The car was jerking and cutting off every now and then.the consumer noticed the car was riding differently. The ignition has a buzzing sound. They were supposed to fix the tachometer.the air conditioner doesn't work. The drivers side window would continue go down.smoke was emitting from the exhaust.
While driving a clicking noise came from the engine.the consumer indicated that neither the engine light nor oil light illuminated while the vehicle was making noise. It wasn't until the noise got louder and the consumer pulled over that the oil light illuminated.the vehicle was taken to the dealer who request the consumer's oil change records.the consumer provided the records but the dealer refused to repair the vehicle under warranty.the dealer indicated that the consumer didn't have enough records and that sludge was found in the engine.
The contact owns a 2004 suzuki verona.while driving at any speed, the vehicle will suddenly shut off.the vehicle was able to restart immediately after the failure.there were no warning indicators prior to the intermittent failure.the vehicle has been diagnosed by the dealer, but the failure still persists.the current mileage was 48,248 and failure mileage was 32,000.
When driving at slow speeds the engine stalls. Most recently this happened during stop and go driving at about 7 mph. When accelerating out of a stop the car jerks and lunges forward. When driving at highway speeds the car runs rough. When accelerating to higher speeds the car hesitates and jerks. Customer has taken car into 4 different mechanics for these problems - most recently to the dealer who was unable to duplicate the stalling. Various attempts have been made to fix the rough running (spark plugs, alignment correction), but the problem persists.
This car stalls and missfires when cold. Suzuki has a recall on this but only for certain areas of the contry. The dealers i called do not know anything about this recall #xcpe04062_cat
Pe04062_cat
2004 suzuki verona stalled without warning. Days after the vehicle was purchased it stalled on the freeway.the check engine light illuminated.it's been two years since the first incident yet the dealer still hasn't been able to determine the cause of the problem.the dealer has replaced many components (o2 sensor, throttle body engine coil) but none have rectified the problem.
While driving, the check engine light appeared on the dashboard and remained on.then vehicle would stalled.the driver tried to restart was able to start and drove it home.the next day driver drove the vehicle to the dealer.the mechanic informed the driver that the computer system needed replacement.the driver informed the mechanic this problem has occurred more than once and the problem still has not been resolve.
Dt*:the contact stated while stopping at an intersection the engine stalled.

My 2004 suzuki verona currently has 102,000 miles on it, but started hesitating and stalling at 50,000 miles. Upon stopping at an intersection, the accelerator could be pressed to the floor and the vehicle would hesitate for several seconds and then surge forward.it would also stall at intersections at times.the check engine light would light at times, but not always.the local dealership began addressing this issue at 50,000 miles and followed the repairs approved by the suzuki rep.this led to the vehicle being in for the same issue at least a half dozen times after the initial repair.suzuki continued to approve partial repairs, but never approved the complete repair of the issue.this resulted in a recurrence as recently june of 2010, and once again partial repairs were approved.once the vehicle passed the 100,000 mark in september, the issue occurred again, but suzuki refused any responsibility to further address the issue which left the vehicle un-drivable.the vehicle is currently at 102,000 miles and suzuki has failed to ever correct the issue, but now will do nothing because the vehicle is out of warranty.suzuki continued to make partial repairs to my vehicle although they realized that their efforts were failing to correct the issue, and began to do full engine replacements of other veronas with the same issue.
While driving between 30 to 35 mphvehicle intermittently stalled.this caused the loss of steering andbrakes. Consumer was able to pull out of the road, this incident happened twicein the last 6 months. Dealer and the manufacturer were notified.pe04062_cat
Vehicle has been repeatedly stalling since may of 2005 and been in the dealer's shop to be repaired at least four times with no improvement in the defect.vehicle stalls at deacceleration and at idle without warning.this is an extreme safety concern.the suzuki dealer has reprogrammed the fuel system control chip at least two times.suzuki motors america has now told the dealer to try replacing the throttle sensor and the cam sensor.the dealer (wendle suzuki) has been very cooperative, but suzuki is extremely slow to try to solve this problem.
I am sending you this complaint in an attempt to inform you of suzuki motor company that is located in you state. I live in texas but have been dealing with suzuki for over a year now trying to get them to make repairs to my vehicle so that i may not end up in a serious accident caused by the suzuki verona i own. My information may not be completely accurate but what i have read does warrant an investigation on your part. The suzuki verona was a model of daewoo then suzuki bought daewoo from general motors. One of the vehicles they put out on the market was the verona, i assume without making any changes to its drivetrain. I have read that the engine designed by daewoo was not designed to be operated using any type of fuel that contains ethanol. All fuel has atleast 10% ethanol no matter where you go in america. Daewoo never intended for this vehicle to be sold in america. But suzuki put it on the market in america without any concern of what the consequences might be to the public. I have read over a hundred and fifty complaints about the verona and they all complain about the same thing, the engine. The engine has died on my verona while i have been on the highway and when i have been on regular surface streets. It has surged a few times and on one occasion i struck my brother while he was attempting to open our garage door. Luckily i did not hit him very hard so he was not injured, just scratches. But could you imagine if a mother goes to pick up her children and while sitting at a crosswalk near the school her engine surges and the vehicle jumps into the crosswalk and strikes children possibly killing them or crippling them for life. Suzuki has gone out of its way to do everything to avoid doing the proper repairs or replacing the engine. I have been lied to by the service department manager here in ft. Worth and i have been lied to by the district service rep. ( jeff marris ), about the engine.
The idle will not stay at one speed / goes from 750 down to 300 back up to 1200 . The dealers act like they have never heard of this problem and do not know how to fix it. The 2 dealers in my area have now closed up and i have to go farther now to get it serviced.
Nov. 14, 2005 6:45 am - this is the 3rd time this year that this 2004 suzuki verona has had an engine stalled problem.the first was jan. 07, 2005 and the 2nd time was jan. 24, 2005.i took my car in to the ferman chrysler/jeep/suzuki dealership today (again) and left it with service manager, brian cummings.brian said he will check the car out, then get in touch with suzuki to see what they will do.i advised brian that this is the 3rd time in less than 24 months as required by the "lemon law"for this vehicle to have the same problem in order for the vehicle to be replaced.brian said he will have someone call me back today between 2-3pm with the status.i called suzuki customer service at 1-800-934-0934 and spoke w/ orlando at ext. 2471.i explained the situation to orlando and advised him that this is the 3rd engine stalled failure with my car. He saidthis is the first notice they have had of this problem.this was much to my surprise as i was advised on the 1st and 2nd failure thatthe ferman dealership was in contact with suzuki.orlando said they might have gotten in touch with the florida district manager, patricia robinson who apparently did not notify suzuki either as there is no record of this matter from her.(orlando advised me that he could not give out the dist. Mgr's ph# and addr. Because this is her personal residence).i advised orlando that i do not want this car back as i am afraid of an accident occurring and that i would like to evoke the "lemon law."orlando said that is up to my state to decide that . (???!)i obtained the address where orlando is located for automotive customer service 3251 e. Imperial hwy. Brea, calif. 92822.he would not give me the name of a manager to address my letter to.orlando said he would contact the dealership, then he will call me within 24-48 hours with the status.needless to say, i am not very happy at this point.
My verona hesitates badly when cold and continues although not as bad after warming up. Also it idles very roughly(misfires) when first started. The cruise control surges extremely bad when used.contacted dealer, and was supposed to get a call back in an hour, that was 1 week ago.this car only has 600 miles on it now.
Car has stalled since 2006 at 24k. Now it misfires, dealer told me it was spark plugs. Upon replacing them i noticed oil on them. I'm sure they'll give me the run around when i take it back. And why is there no investigation pending?

Engine light came on 10 minutes after i purchased the vehicle on august 6, 2005 it was sputerring and jerking when i tried to accelerate also at low speeds it acts as though it is going to cut off.the vehicle is still under warranty.took it to the dealer they found cylinder #2 plug failed.they replaced it.2 days later the engine light was back on i am taking the car back to the dealership tomorrow august 25, 2005.

I purchased a 2004 suzuki verona brand new.the engine is no good.first the oil light came on then the service engine light without warning.i called and informed the dealership.they noted that the oil had been changed and they assured me it should be no problem fixing the car since is was still protected under factory warranty.they asked me to bring in all receipts proving the oil had been changed which i complied with.after about a week they called me back and told me it appeared the oil had not been changed and stated they were not going to repair my car. I had also explained that i would be leaving for vacation and i would be needing the loaner car.after they determined they were not going to help, they left me stranded at the airport with my two young children with no vehicle.now they have stop making the car after 3years.someone needs to be held accountable for all of these consumer losses.i now have 10,000 plus worth of junk that nobody wants.it is not fair and i urge anyone please do not support suzuki in any way.

The remote radio controls do not always work.dealer said that suzuki knows about the problem, but did not know how to fix it. Repairs are in the works.
I have received a recall "xc" notice, important safety recall. Daytime running light (drl) may over heat risking vehicle fire.i called suzuki auto (877) 697-8985 because the closest dealership is now a days drive away (some 300 miles) instead of here in town.i told 2 or 3 different people i was able to talk to, that it is not possible for me to drive that far. I am on va and social security disabilities also full time care giver with help from the state for my 87 year old mother who suffers from dementia. Suzuki will not authorize any other dealership or repair facility to replace the module. I either drive to phoenix, az or try to sue them if the car catches fire.it is their mandatory recall and should do all that needs being done to make the repair rather than tell me sorry if you live to far away to get it done.
I am going to list the problems that i have with my 04 suzuki verona ex.1.turn signals do not cancel out (usually while turning left)2.steering wheel audio controls, volume acts like a mute, seal acts like mode, mode turns off radio and the cd player sticks.3.heated seats turn on and off by itself. You need to push the button a few times before it will activate.4.cruise control will disengage by itself (this is intermittent)5.head lights burn out about every 3 - 4 months.6.one abs sensor went out around 30k miles and the second went out about 80k miles.7.right now i have cylinders 5 & 6 that are misfiring on the vehicle that need to be replaced.the amount to fix this problem is more then my car is worth.we are 3k miles over warranty and so far suzuki will not help.
The contact owns a 2004 suzuki verona. The contact stated that the headlights would intermittently fail. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 14v262000 (exterior lighting) and contacted the manufacturer. Themanufacturer was under liquidation and was not able to honor the recall repair at a local dealer due to a lack of dealers in the contact's state. The closest dealer to the contact was over 120 miles from his residence. The contact was not comfortable driving the vehicle that far due to the potential risk of a fire erupting in the vehicle from the headlight failure. The manufacturer advised the contact that if he wanted the vehicle repaired, he would have to pay for the recall repair himself. The failure mileage was 74,000.

Complaint no. 1the fuel line of my 2004 suzuki verona became disconnected, causing me to lose power while i was driving and causing fuel to spill on the roadway.the problem was allegedly fixed by franklin square suzuki.however, a few months later, the fuel line again became disconnected causing me to lose power while driving and causing fuel to be spilled on the roadway.the problem was fixed by malmstrom suzuki.complaint no. 2.the brake pedal switch has become inoperable six or seven times.when the switch becomes inoperable, the brake lights are not activated when i depress the brake pedal.in addition, the transmission lever cannot be released from park unless i use the keyhole override.the problem has been repaired each time (occasionally after a few visits), but nevertheless, has occurred way too many times, even after suzuki supposedly came up with a fix fro the problem by redesigning the brake pedal switch.the most recent date is indicated below.
While driving tail lights failed intermittently. Dealership was notified, but did not resolve the problem.
Please help! thank you.
Dt*:the contact stated while activating the left turn signal at any speed the switch failed to disengage after the turn is completed.upon inspection the dealership determined the turn signal switch needed to be replaced.the manufacturer was alerted.it was determined the turn signal switch was not going to be replaced. Updated 07/05/06
2004 suzuki verona ex [xxx]. I purchased my 2004 verona from car max in austin, tx. I have been experiencing intermittent stalling, poor acceleration and jerking acceleration. There is no exact moment when this happens but it is becoming a serious concern within the past month as it has become more frequent. I used to happen a couple of times within the first month but has increased frequency to at least once to twice a day in the past 30 days. I purchased this car, used, and have only had it for 3 months.i took it to the suzuki dealership for an oil change and consulted with the service manager and was told since the engine light does not come on there is no error in the computer and can not be fixed. He said that repairs for this old of a car would cost more to try and find the error than its worth. The contact owns a 2004 suzuki verona.the contact stated that the vehicle would stall sporadically and without warning.the dealer attempted to repair the failure, but was unsuccessful. The dealer also advised the contact of campaign id number: 04v396000 (fuel system, gasoline:delivery) but stated that the contact's vehicle was not included in the recall campaign. The manufacturer was not contacted and the vehicle was not repaired.the failure mileage was 9,000 and the current mileage was 64,000.
The contact owns a 2004 suzuki verona. The contact stated that when he engaged the accelerator pedal occasionally the vehicle would hesitate. The vehicle does not stall; however, the delay nearly caused a crash to occur. The dealer stated that the contacts vin was not a part of the recall for the fuel system which could cause the vehicle to stall; although, the electronic control module caused the failure to occur. The vin was not available when the complaint was filed. The failure mileage was 76000 and the current mileage was 93000.
I have had a series of safety concerns involving a recall notice that was issued due to a defect which exists in all 2004 suzuki verona passenger cars.the engine control module (ecm) has a program fault which causes the fuel to air ratio to become too lean in some circumstances, results in engine stalling.if stalling occurs, this can result in loss of control of the vehicle and a crash could occur without prior warning. I purchased a 2004 suzuki verona ex 2.5l automatic, vehicle id [xxx] on 10/04/03 at the auburn suzuki dealership, giant of the valley. I returned to the dealer a dozen times for the same idle fluctuation issue as well as the check engine light coming on.i was told that the car was fine and that i could continue to drive it even with the check engine light on. I was told that they were working the check engine light issue. On 5/9/05 my car is dropped off at suzuki.on 5/10/05 i received a call (voice message on my cell phone) from jim golden at 5:09 p.m. Stating that they ordered a throttle body assembly and that it would resolve the issues of idle dropping and idle quality.on 5/11/05 i returned jim golden?s call at 7:00 a.m. And stated that i was not convinced that the throttle body assembly would fix my car and requested a refund.i also stated that i was filing for the washington state lemon law at which time i was told that the district representative would call me.on 5/12/05 the district representative, leonard smith calls me and states that there is nothing he can do about it.this is a safety issue and want a repurchase of the 2004 suzuki verona. 2004 suzuki verona---(1.)january 07, 2005- 7:00am-engine stalled and engine light came on.i drove vehicle to ferman suzuki dealership where it was repaired in approximately 30-45 mins.(2.)january. 24, 2005- 4:45pm - engine stalled again and engine light came on. (2nd time in 2 weeks.)dealer was supposed to call me today to advise when i could bring it in.(i have not heard from them as yet.)when i took the vehicle in yesterday, they said they do not have any appts. For a week.also, they could not provide me with a loaner car.i drove car from the lot.(3.)salesman, paul morris advised me and my friend that this happened to another customer.her engine fell out of her car while driving down the interstate.per paul, suzuki paid off her loan and replaced the vehicle.(4.)i advised paul and the service man that this sounds like a "lemon law" situation brewing here.also, since they know that this happened before, they should have taken my car into the shop and given me a loaner car.(5.)i contacted the nhtsa and was advised of the recall for the engine stalling on the suzuki verona.i was advised to enter a complaint on their web-site.
Consumer vehicle was in service for repair on a recall and is deny payment do to a recall. ***nar received 10-13-05***a loaner vehicle was provided to the consumer while her vehicle was being serviced for recall 04v396000 which was in reference to engine stalling due to improper ecm logic.the consumer received a bill from the rental car agency seeking payment for the rental.the consumer denied any responsibility for this debt as it was suppose to be covered by the dealer.the consumer received this bill over a year after service was rendered.
The ecm module was replaced once before the recall letter was received and once after.as stated in the engine/stalling recall 04v396000, but the vehicle continued to stall and run rough.
After rec'd recall notice for defect relates tovehicle safety exists in all 2004 suzuki verona. Car lost all power in traffic.recall number:04v396000summary: in certain passenger vehicles, a fault in the adaptive fuel control logic can cause some vehicles to use air/fuel ratios during deceleration that are lean enough to cause engine stalling.consequence: engine stalling could result in a crash.*tc

I have had the car at two dealerships for the stalling rough idle problem. They cannot hind the problem .this happens alot with tis car. Suzuki need to step up and address this problem.pe04062_cat
I have a 2004 suzuki verona that has a poor runnung condition . The dealers have not received any service information for this problem that all the cars have. When at mild temps. It wil idle very rough and almost die unless you rev the motor first and let it idle itself smooth.pe04062_cat
The rpms will vary from 300 to 600 or more at idle.
Cold start running will stall. Poor acceleration . Stalling . This dealer fixed my car the first time. They replaced the engine mngmnt control box under recall kc.pe04062_cat
This car stalls and missfires when cold. Suzuki has a recall on this but only for certain areas of the contry. The dealers i called do not know anything about this recall #xcpe04062_cat
Dt: contactowned a 2004 suzuki verona where the engine light was staying on.consumer took the vehicle to the service dealer about 7-8 times.they replaced the fuel cap, computer, and the oxygen sensor. Consumer inspected the fuel capand found that the rubber packing on the fuel cap was crooked. Consumer reinstalled the rubber packing onfuel cap and this remedied the problem with the engine light staying on.consumer did go to the local service dealer and examined a fuel cap for a 2005 suzuki verona and found the same assembly of the fuel cap as for fuel cap.the sales consultant of the dealership witnessed the assembly of the fuel cap.
Suzuki verona 2004: computer chip has to be reprogrammed because it doesn't regulate the engine. Then when this is done the o-2 sensors and check engine light comes on. The computer chip causes the car to hesitate, stall and backfire. (flash of chip needed) suzuki then promises customer that they will get a car payment for their troublein an attempt to entice them to...release suzuki from arbitration....but the check is a scam. (they alledgedly withdrew the offer when i asked for either a trade up to a non lemon or defective car or arbitration) there never was any proof of any check given to me. Suzuki claims they had to obtain "approval" fromepa to rewrite the chip"...but i never received any recall notice. Im uncertain of the technical terms but i believe if epa was involved that suzuki..verona might not meet emissions standards. On the date there isn't a certain date.
*tc
Try to accelerate from a stop, there is no acceleration for at least 3 seconds- the car will then buck and go- very dangerous when trying to get out of a block or driving on a highway. Mechanic has it again- codes that come up mean nothing. Please help- it;s my daughter's car and she is only 17 going to drive to college which is 40 miles away on the highway.
The contact owns a 2004 suzuki verona. The contact stated that while driving at 70 mph, the service engine warning light illuminated and the vehicle stalled. The contact was able to restart the vehicle on the first attempt. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the ecm (electronic control module) needed to be reprogrammed. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 04v396000 (fuel system, gasoline). The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 195,000.
This is my sisters car and has been getting steadily worse as time goes on.when she first purchased the car, 6 months ago, it was a slight hesitation. We thought it was the range sensor.that didn't solve the problem.neither did new plugs, nor patching some vacuum leaks, cleaning maf sensor.sudden, barely controllable speed changes, shifting out of sequence and hesitation when accelerating.this vehicle is a death trap.i feel, after all these testimonials, that gm should be held responsible.after all, the door tag says that it's a gm daewoo vehicle.just because it has a suzuki grille, doesn't mean anything.all of these cars need to be scrapped and the owners properly compensated..
2004 suzuki verona warranty issues.consumer had a problem with the dealership and charges for the repairs to his vehicle. *njthe consumer stated the check light had illuminated. A diagnosis determined there was a problem with the fuel sensor and egr valve. The vehicle continued to stall out in traffic sporadically and the tachometer jumped up and down.the dealership could not find any codes showing problems and the check engine light did not come on again. The consumer was also advised transmission fluid was leaking and the radiator and lines needed to be replaced.

Dt: the contact statedthe engine service lightkept coming onthe2004 suzuki verona. Oil was getting in the gas line. Vehicle has been to thedealership over the past year repeatedly for the engine service light problem. The transmission was not automatically shifting. The contact said that it seemed to be connected to the engine light. As of yesterday, the speedometer was not working. The manufacturer has been called ,and they said that they would notify the dealer and try to figure out what was wrong with the vehicle. The dealership did not call the contact.the dealersaid that there was nothing wrong with the car. The 02 sensor has been replaced once, and wascurrently waiting on another 02 sensor to be installed. The only problem was that the part has not been manufactured.
While driving 30 mph vehicle stalled. Consumer restarted vehicle, and took itto the dealer for inspection twice, andmechanic could not duplicate the problem. Dealer refused to return the vehicle to consumer due to safety problem, and not being able to duplicate the problem. Pe04062_cat
I had the transmission replaced in the first month i had the car, also the car stalls out, i had the car since oct.i got to replace the rotors there making a funny noise.
As i exited a freeway, i braked to disengage the cruise control and started slowing down. The car acted as though it was auto-braking to slow down as if going down a steep hill several times very severely and came to a complete stop. It would not go forward or in reverse until i turned off the cruise control and the engine and restarted it. On two other occasions, the car would not move after stopping to enter a ferry and with my wife attempting to leave a parking lot.

Transmission was having problems down shifting from the high gears, making it difficult to slow down . Took vehicle to dealer for repairs several times, but the cause was still undetermined.
I purchased a new 2004 suzuki verona april 2004.since then, the vehicle starts surging and lurching unexpectedly without any warning. I've taken it to the dealer for repair and they state there's nothing else they can do about it. The last time, approx 2 weeks ago, they downloaded a "patch" to reprogram a computer chip which did no good at all.i've complained to the dealer numerous times and brought it at least 4 times for this problem. My wife refuses to even drive this vehicle because it's an accident waiting to happen. Francis g vinci, union, ohio.
Vehicle stalls , shakes , and shuts down in traffic.*tcthe problem was a direct cause of the engine control module. There was a recall and it was replaced.after the repairs were made the vehicle heat stopped working.it took almost a month before the heating problems was repaired because the part was on back order.the consumer feel she should not have been financially responsible for the repair of the heating system.
Upon starting the vehicle it shook and vibrated erratically. Also, it shifted like a standard transmission. When driving at 40 mph the vehicle jumped. The vehicle shuts off while driving.the fuel pump and computer board was changed problem still exists. *tc
The seat belts in the back seat will not work properly. I have 2 out of the 3 to lock up and not work. I have a 4yr old and now she must ride by the door due to the malfunction of the other two seatbelts. I have had so much trouble out of this car and it was bought new. It surges and has almost got me and my child killed. I had it in the shop for over a month and still have issues. They say it doesn't happen when they drive it. Like it is in my head. I don't recommend suzuki to anyone!
The contact owns a 2004 suzuki verona. The contact stated that all three rear seats belts on the vehicle failed. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the contact was advised to replace the seat belts. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was unknown and the current mileage was 200,000.
Consumer statedthat when driving, thevehicle just shutdown. The consumer took the vehicle to the dealer and they had it for over a week andthe consumer was afraid to get back into itbecause shethought she may get killed.the electronic key would not open the vehicle and it would relock itself continuously at least three times before the consumer could enter, the seat belt would disengage itself, there was a stalling problem, the dealer suggested that the vehicle would adjust itself while in motion, and the a/c would choke. *scpe04062_cat

2004 suzuki verona ex developed problems with the seat belt equipment.*mrthe rear seat belts would become too tight to withstand around one's neck.the dealer stated when the seat belts were pulled all the way out, they would enter the ratchet.
Consumer statedthe seat belt locked in the retractor. Can't wear the seat belt when riding in the back seat. Consumer to the vehicle to the dealer four times. However, the problem recurred.
I purchased a new 2004 suzuki verona in dec of 2004.i have a 6 year old who by law must be in a belt positioning booster seat in the rear seat.this vehicle is completely incompatible with every booster seat on the market.the rear "seat bite" is too narrow and the seat belt (receiving end) is too short.i brought this serious problem to the attention of the dealership (huntington kia/suzuki on long island, ny)they were of absolutely no assistance. In fact their advice was completely contrary to all manufacurer's instructions.i then contacted suzuki corp. And was told there was no remedy to my problem.they do not manufacture seat belt extenders for the rear seat belts (which may or may not be a solution???) i have sent a complaint to the ntsb who referred me to the nhtsa this is my 2nd correspondance with you.
Both passenger and driver rear seat belts lock up.the vehicle was taken to the dealer for inspection and the mechanic was able could not duplicate the problem.when the rear passenger moved the seat belt became tighter and tighter to the point where the passenger could barely breath.the manufacturer was called twice but they didn't provide any assistance.
All the seat in the backseat except the middle belt have stopped working. The middle seatbelt is started to show sign of malfunction.

The traction control disabled during inclement weather. This caused the anti-lock brakes not to operate. Owner pulled over to engage the traction control. Manufacturer was contacted by owner.manufacturer stated that there was nothing wrong.

2004 suzuki veronaaxle broke away from vehicle while driving on a busy highway. There were not any signs leading up to the event. They state that it was due to a manufactures defect on the ball joint. The event caused my father to have severe anxiety and no longer wants to drive or be driven in the vehicle.suzuki paid half of the cost and i paid the other half. I called for the part and they say they had thrown it away because suzuki did not want it. I also had the neutral switch (2005) go out on the car which caused me to go onto an embankment. They fixed at no charge. My question is are the vehicles considered "lemons". Because by the megan moss law they are. Both of these incidents could have resulted in severe injury. When my neutral switch went out on the car, they had four other vehicles in the shop that had done the same thing but there seems there is no recalls for major things that happen to your car, how can that be?
My transmission range switch went out on my car and left myself, my disabled mother, my 10mo son, and my 12mo nephew stranded on the side of the highway for over an hour in 103 degree weather. This is a common problem with suzukis and everyone on the forums is requesting that this defective part be considered a recall.
I should have done my homework before purchasing this vehicle. I bought it fromdealership, and feel finding out more , why are these cars aloud to still be sold. I have had nothing but problems since day one with accelerating. Constantly stalling and bucking. I read how thus has been an issue with this type of car since day 1. The dealership would only do one minor repair and refused to help with anything else, as it was sold as is. I had a mechanic hook it up and found 12 transmission codes!!!! i am a single mother or 2/children and fear for our safety every time we get in this car. I so wish i never purchased this vehicle. But now its too late, i still owe money and can't afford another vehicle. Just wondering , i haven't seen any, but were there or are there any recalls for this problem? just frustrated.
Dt:the vehicle accelerated by itself.the problem first started on 4-13-05.the consumer will not be applying pressure to the fuel pedal and the vehicle will go faster. It was like having the cruise control on. However, the cruise control was off.there have been no accidents of yet.the consumer took vehicle to dealer forrepairs multiple times.they have checked the computer, and the throttle cables.they have been unable to fix the problem.

The vehicle hesitated to accelerate from a stop and surged forward when the contact applied the brakes. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where it was repaired. Two weeks later, the failure occurred again. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer but the failure could not be diagnosed. The failure continued. The failure mileage was unknown and the current mileage was approximately 113,000.
The contact owns a 2004 suzuki verona.while driving at various speeds ranging from 10 - 45 mph the vehicle stalled after stopping at traffic light or driving down the highway.the failure mileage was 3,000.the contact stated that the vehicle was not getting enough gas.the dealer stated that the vehicle was operating normally.the current mileagewas 48,000.
My verona had a problem of feeling like it wasn't shifting right. The first time i was going about 40-50 mph and it felt like the brake was on or in first gear. The second time 30-40 mph the same thing. Then the service engine soon light came on. I took it to the dealer and they said " i'm not pointing any fingers but it shows that the throttle and the brake was on at the same time". Which i took to mean i was driving with my brake on while accelerating. This was not the case.told him that if i pulled over and shut the car off and then restarted it that the problem went away.their answer to drive it in (30 miles) when the car was having that problem.
Electronic control module was replaced because the carjerked. Cruise control came on by itself. Vehicle would loose speed, andelectronic control module was replaced.vehicle continued to have problems. Consumer received a recall for the control module, and was informedthat the first replacementmodule was defective.vehicle still jerked out of control.
I have a 2004 suzuki verona lx that from the day i bought it the cruise control wanders or surges. It is getting worse with age. It will very as much as 10 mph back and forth, back and forth until you turn it off. I have had several close calls at being rear ended when it slows down suddenly. I have had it to 4 different dealers and they all tell me the same thing. This is the way it is supposed to work. They tell me it was fixed in the 2005 & 2006 models. Then why can't they retrofit the 2004's. This is a terrible safety hazard that is getting worse as the vehicle gets older. It has 20000 miles on it now, what will happen when it has 50000? quit running totally!!!
The window washers will not spray hard enough to hit the windshield on a windy day. The dealer has replace the ww pump and the ww hose and check valves. The still do not have the correct amount of pressure .
