I purchased a new 2008 suzuki reno from a dealership in tallahassee who is no longer in business.a message appear on the right side (passage)that the airbag is off.i bought this to the attention of the dealership.they told me not to worry about it, it was fine. Later i notice a ball popped up on the driver side and i looked in the manual it stated it was my airbag.i called the manufacturer in california and they advice me to have it checked out in ocala florida.i took the car to the dealership and they detected that both airbags and light was on.they determined it has internal fault code for the passenger side and the airbag module needs to be replaced and it roughly cost $1,000.00.they refused to have the airbag replaced. And i asked what if someone get injury while riding in the car, and she stated it willbe my fault.i told her no, because it was a defect from the beginning.

I took my car in to find out why the airbag light for the passenger side was on by the clock and on my dash.come to find out the part that i need to fix it is hard to find and that the part is also bad.in order to fix my problem it will cost me $2500 to fix it.so i think i will wait till it gets recalled along with the airbags.so now no one can sit in the front passenger seat!!

My 2008 suzuki reno has over 100,000 miles and i first experienced symptoms sometime in june 2010 only a year after i bought it. At first it was just that the car seemed to have trouble accelerating from a stop (like at a traffic light) and the check engine light came on. After that the symptoms got increasingly worse. It would intially have the same symptoms as listed above, then it would get better and the check engine light would turn off. Then i started getting the periodic clunk and scrambled gear display like all the gears with a line thru it on the dash. I told my husband who can work on older model cars and he drove it around the block with no problem, then he was in the car with my going down the interstate and it did it and almost made the car come to a complete stop from almost 70mph with vehicles behind us.i called the service department where i got it and they said that if the light wasn't staying on all the time, then there wasn't anything they would be able to do but that it didn't sound like it would be covered under warranty. I have had nothing but problems with my 2008 reno since it reached 70,000 miles. I've kept up on my maintenance.also both of my airbag lights stay on all the time, the passenger light stays on as if no one is sitting in it even with a 200 pound person sitting in the seat.the car hasn't been in any accidents to make them not read right.

Car is having trouble when switching into gear as well as reverse and driving is very slow and restrained. The problem is so often on forums, it is strange this has not been recalled. Expensive to fix and seems to be a manufacturing fault/cheap part. Auto scanner said part is the transmission sensor.

Vehicle lurched and hopped out of gear.i took the vehicle to the mechanic, he stated the code indicated the transmission range sensor was having an issue, not covered by warranty.i had it replaced at a later date.the fix lasted about 2 months and the sensor again went bad,i just had it replaced again but it did not solve all of the issues, i have to drive in 3 to keep the car shifting and keep it from randomly hopping out of gear. This is dangerous!i have pulled out onto highways and had the car jump out of gear and not be able to maneuver to a safe spot, nearly getting hit numerous times.this is a known issue!if you visit any suzuki or repair forum you will see numerous posts on this exact problem.it is a safety issue as well as a mechanical one.this needs to be investigated before someone dies.

Driving at 50mph and the car jolts into 4th gear and stays there. Making any take off from stop terrible. It must be very hard on the transmission and the power train. I have replace this part twice now and it still continues to happen. A recall is needed severely.

My car suzuki reno 2008 was parking at my driveway and it caught fire under the driver steering column. The day after i reported the incident to suzuki motors corp and three days after i received in the mail a safety recall "xa". I took my ve hicle to a suzuki dealer in miami but i was told by suzuki that they were not responsible for the resulting fire.

A couple days ago the timing belt broke on my gm-daewoo 2008 suzuki reno. The vehicle only has just under 130,000 thousand and has been vary well maintained. The belt had been replaced before with a gates timing belt at about 100,000 i believe. Therefore meaning the belt broke with just under 30,000 thousand miles on it, which is way before the manufacture oem change interval in the service guide. I understand the engine is a gm family 2 series engine 2.0 d-tec 4cylnder dohc i think the engine codename in these engines is a u20sed/ l34. As for the belt, it just snapped besides for where it had snapped and broke its in good shape, no rips, tears etc.. Just wondering if gm is aware of this issue, i not trying to complain but honestly i feel that something seriously wrong had happened to my car after doing some research i found out about many other people having this same issue forum pages online, youtube videos, and things like that. I had gone through all the recalls and service bulletins and there's absolutely nothing having to do with what had happened(the belt broke on my car as well as many other reno and forenza vehicles. Maybe the timing system was poorly designed, manufacturing defect ? i'm not sure, but i do thnk the tensioner may have failed. I know this is an interference engine it has zero compression and so it likely has some bent valveswhat's the best way to have this taken care of? also there's only one suzuki service dealer that's still open in my area, as for the recall it has i am planning to get it replaced, i contacted that dealer a while back and i am planning to get that fixed very soon. The vin for the vehicle is [xxx] i am in the united states, i live across the water from seattle but in canada i believe these were sold as the chevy optra 5 thanks [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

Driving down the road going 50 mphs the engine light comes on loses all power goes into lump home mode. Took it to the shop and replaced the throttle position sensor. 3 months later light comes back on take it back to the dealership and this time it is the same thing they did a transmission flush and replaced the sensor again. 3 months later the same thing happened again this time its the throttle pedal position sensor. It keeps doing the same thing every couple of months. Expensive fix everytime. I have the extended warranty and it doesn't help.

I was driving my 2008 suzuki reno on the road on my way to work when the car started to slow down despite me trying to give it gas, and the check engine light appeared. I pulled over and put the car in park and turned it off for a moment. I turned the car back on and the check engine light remained on. When trying to shift back into drive, my car jolted and an x appeared over the d where the gears are located. Frightened, i turned the car off again and called the dealership, who told me to bring it in. They explained it was the transmission range sensor is going to cost me $200 to replace it because the warranty wont cover it. I highly believe it should be cover or do a recall on it.i give thanks to god i wasn't injured or i injure some one else please take me to consideration.thank you and god bless you.

Transmission has trouble switching gears, odometer scrambles when switching from park to drive, odometer reads as being in reverse when it's in park, and when it switches gears it switches hard and struggles toaccelerate.

The contact owns a 2008 suzuki reno. The contact stated that while driving approximately 35 mph the head lights suddenly malfunctioned and stopped operating. The contact indicated while driving at night only the high beam lights would operate. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but no solution was offered. The failure mileage was 104,000.

Transmission slips into neutral while driving at 55 mph. The electronic d starts flashing and it looks like there is n over the d on the dash. The car will not move unless i down shift into 3rd gear and the power train is automatic.

The contact owns a 2008 suzuki reno.the contact was driving uphill at 20 mph when the vehicle stalled without warning.the contact took the vehicle to the dealer for diagnostic testing, which determined that the tcm was faulty. The tcm was replaced but the repair did not remedy the issue.the failure mileage was 30,335.

While driving the car automatically downshifts into neutral. I was told it was a transmission range sensor and it was not covered by the warranty. This will cost + or - 250.00. The car is still covered by the 100,000 mile 10 year warranty and has only 38,000 miles on it. I was told that this is a common occurrence on suzuki renos and forenzas. . . Is this a defective part. It is dangerous-

The contact owns a 2008 suzuki reno. The contact stated that while driving approximately 50 mph the vehicle decelerated. The contact noticed a whining noise. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for diagnosis. The mechanic stated the transmission range sensor would have to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 62,000.

This really should be enforced as a recall. Obd2 codes are p0705 and p0705p (transmission range sensor failures). When shifting to d or r, the check engine light goes on, you hear a loud voice and the car shakes, it's scary. The failure starts soon after powertrain warranty expiration date. I realized this happens to a lot of owners of suzuki cars, sharing the exact same experiences. It's a shame suzuki charges $500 to repair something that happens to virtually everyone. On the internet everyone complains of the same problem. My car has only 20,550 miles. It really should be mandated as a recall. Thank you very much!

Pulling out at a red light the car had no power like it stopped working or was out of gear hesitation. Check engine light came on transmission code p0705. Had it replaced at a reputable transmission repair shop. Same problem again 3/28/2013 given a replacement part free. Same problem again 4/15/2013 going to suzuki 4/18/2013 for them to check the car. Stressing me out, i hope i don't get killed because of this loss of power. I guess i have to pay for this continuing problem which i don't see why they didn't do a recall when they are aware of this ongoing problem with my car as well as others.

I've had to replace the throttle body as well as the transission range sensor and the trans axle control module. I've had to replace the arms on the windshield as well for the windshield wipers because they had came off while i was driving. This car has almost caused me my life multiple times and im so sick of no one trying to fix what is going on with it. I know that they dont make this model anymore but this care has been nothing but trouble and not everyone can buy a new car at this time so we are left to fix the mistakes of the maker.

Occasionally, when starting my vehicle, i will notice that the "check engine" light is on.when going from park to reverse, it slams into gear.when going to drive, it also slams into gear.i had it checked out at the suzuki dealership, and they said that it is not part of the drive train.it is the transmission range selector sensor that is bad, and as such, is not covered by the drive train warranty.this has been happening off and on for months, and by the time i can get it to the dealership, the issue has resolved it's self. Now, they want to charge me to replace a faulty part on the vehicle, that other people have had as well.this is unacceptable, to me, as i did not damage the part, it was faulty to begin with.

When a 2008 suzuki reno about 30 miles went into a skid from being broadsided, it turned around and hit a pole cement pillar on the drivers side front finder bytire, the seat belt did not do any thing i went up engines door and roof and back down and stained neck ,, seat belt did nothing to stop the flying up and out of seat???

The contact owns a 2008 suzuki reno.while driving 20 mph, the contact applied the brakes.the vehicle jerked forward and began to accelerate automatically.the contact applied the emergency brake, but the acceleration continued.she struck the preceding vehicle and damaged the passenger side of her vehicle.prior to the crash, the vehicle began to automatically accelerate when the engine was started.the dealer has not been notified.the current and failure mileages were 1,900.
