At around 55,000 miles airbag sensor light came on and stayed on, vehicle has not been in an accident, read online this is a common problem with this vehicle.contacted dealership and was told by service department that there was no recall or service bulletin for airbag related problems for a 2007 suzuki reno.
I got in my car, turn ignition switch on and boom my side air bag deployed, this vehicle has never been in an accident.
Warning light for air bag system came on and stays on, and i have not been in an accident and the car fax for this car shows no accident where airbags where used, at any time in the past.called pugmire suzuki, in marietta, ga. And they advised they would not fix it under warranty, since it was an electrical part, and that i would have no use of airbags, until it was diagnosed for 100 dollars and then repaired for an unknown amount that is more than the 100 dollars, and i decided not to go and get it fixed because it is 70 miles to the nearest dealer, and therefore dangerous to drive there with no air bag use possible. This should be paid for by the car maker, because it is a dangerous defect.
Takata recall. I got into my car to leave. I reached back for my seat belt and the airbag inside the drivers seat deployed. My car was not in motion, i was sitting in a parking lot and the car was not impacted by anything. The airbag struck me on the left side and i got out of the car and went inside to the er because i was already at the hospital for a regular appointment. I did not sit back hard in the seat, i simply reached back for my seat belt and the airbag deployed from within the drivers seat, not the side of the car.
Wife got in the car this a.m. Turned the key and boom drivers side door air bag blew up.
Despite several attempts to fix the connection problems on the side airbags for both the passenger and driver side, the airbag light is still on. This is after suzuki realized that the wiring harness was stretched too tight when the seat was rolled back into it's full length. The fix was to break the connection off of the bottom of the seat, wrap the connection in velcro, and stick the connection onto to carpeted floor. Despite several times of having the airbag light cleared, the light has once again come on. According to online research, many other drivers are having this exact same problem.
Airbag lights come on without incident, they have been turned off at the suzuki dealer in the rivergate area of nashville in 2010.since then, they have come on twice and have been able to turn them off. They came on again december of 2011, have not been able to turn them off.car has not had any damage, wreck, water or storm.i have read online suzuki is aware of this problem, please contact me if you can be of any help.
After going and having the wiring checked at pugmire suzuki, for my airbag recall , in november 2017, and having no problems seen, i am now in feburary 2017, experiencing my airbag warning/idiot light on my car's dash. Pugmire suzuki refuses to rexamine the car, without me paying $100.00 to have it diagnosed. The car has not been in accident, and the airbag is unused.
Since the purchase, my flat tire indicator lights.the front drivers tire and rear passenger tires need air about every two weeks.about 1 year after purchase the interior lights, passenger side rear lights went out.after replacing fuses and bulbs there is still no light.not long after that, the passenger side airbag failure light came on.2 months after purchase the purge valve had to be replaced twice.
The contact owns a 2007 suzuki reno.while driving 32 mph, another vehicle crashed into the front passenger side of her vehicle.the contact stated that the airbags did not deploy.as of march 21, 2008, the dealer had not inspected the vehicle.because of the crash, the driver of the sustained a bump on the head and the front seat passenger sustained a bump on the head, bruises on her knees and an injured thumb.the vin, engine size, and number of cylinders were unavailable.the current and failure mileages were 12,800.
On 12-08-09, i entered into my 2007 suzuki reno.i was sitting in my driveway.i turned the ignition to accessory mode(i did not start the engine), within seconds my driver's side(seat) airbag deployed.i have not had any accidents in the vehicle, nor any other damage that would cause an airbag deployment.i have sustained minor injuries due to the impact of the airbag.i have been advised by my insurance company to contact suzuki corporate office.i have spoken with numerous reps with suzuki, all of whom say they cannot do anything.i have been told by my local dealer that they will tow the car to the service department for inspection.but due to the fact my car is not covered under my initial warrant of 36000 miles, any and all repairs - this includes malfunctions and defects - would have to be covered personally.
I got in my car, turn ignition switch on and boom! my side air bag deployed. This vehicle has never been in an accident or fender bender and no work has been performed in a very long time except for my oil change about 45 days ago. There was no warning or anything. It just blew up.
Luckily i was parked. Turned on my car to roll up the windows and suddenly the drivers side seat exploded, with what looked like an airbag inside the seat. It hit my arm causing a bruise. The seat is now torn and busted.
I own 2007 suzuki reno since this year. Car was running good now its has 85600 miles on it approximately . I haven't had any issue but since last six month, my transmission range sensor causing lots of problem i already spent $350 for repair but now i replaced it second time. When i search online and go to suzuki forum i see lots of owner of suzuki having same issue that i am having. Below is the link where you can see so many people already having same issue http://www.carproblemzoo.com/suzuki/forenza/transmission-sensor-problems.php that i am having.i need your help to resolve this issue with the company. If suzuki can install original parts that would be fine. I have already spent lots of money for this specific issue.

Hi, i have a 2007 suzuki reno, after 20,000 miles the transmission range sensor broke, they fixed it for me at the dealer. And now 10,000 miles later it broke again. I believe this shouldn't be normal, when this breaks, its a hassle for the car to drive properly. And its potential hazardous if the car can accelerate properly.
The contact owns a 2007 suzuki reno. While driving approximately 70 mph, the low beam headlights began turning on and off. The contact stopped on the side of the road. When she turned off and restarted the vehicle, it resumed normal operation. The vehicle was driven to the contact's residence. The vehicle was never diagnosed or repaired. The contact also stated that a recall notification was received for nhtsa campaign number: 14v262000 (exterior lighting). The approximate failure mileage was 180,000.
The contact owned a 2007 suzuki reno. While the vehicle was parked with the ignition switch in the on position, the vehicle caught fire. The contact extinguished the fire. The vehicle was destroyed. There was no police report filed. The vin was unavailable. The manufacturer was notified of the failure.the failure mileage was approximately 90,000.
Going into reverse heard and felt a hard loud clunk. Check engine light came on and car bare ly moved. Kept slipping in to neutral on highway top shop. Had checked transmission range sensor
On 07/21/2014 vehicle daytime running lights would not turn off after turning off vehicle and removing key from the ignition. Five (5) months later and two (2) recall letters from suzuki, the issue has not been resolved.
Electric locks continue to cycle on and off, not in complete movement or circuit on and off cycles, causing undue load on alternator, and causing the car to stall out, occasionally even at a zero speed, or in reverse...updated 10-26-15 given the poor electrical history of this model car, i formally request a recall in regards to this safety issue, as the doors could lock or unlock at any given time.furthermore, the wiring harness for the daytime running lights, that was recalled by nhsta, has been replaced previous to this incident. And the day or time that this problem started.
The contact owns a 2007 suzuki reno. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle loss acceleration power. The contact mentioned that the speed decreased to 25 mph. The failure recurred on numerous occasions. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where the failure was unable to be duplicated. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 98,000. The vin was not available.
Takata recall: the steering wheel light keep coming on and off. Im not sure why, i keep fluid in the tube. The engine light never goes off. This all happenedes in april 2015 at the house address the car first purchased.
Issue noted:a hesitation/loss of power while driving resulting in rapid deceleration and no response from the acceleration pedal/throttle.several "pumps" of the pedal were required and after some coasting, the vehicle accelerator would respond again.issue noted as being worse in warmer temperatures and also when driving on hills/inclines.issue creates a major safety concern when pulling into or across lanes with traffic as the issue may reoccur at any time.on the first occurrence of this issue (10-12-09), vehicle was taken into dealership w/ hesitation and loss of power.the throttle body was replaced at that time with part#13400-85z20.issue reoccurred (06/09/11) and dealership checked electrical connections/ground wires, etc. And applied stabliant 22 to terminals.issue reoccurred (08/24/11) and throttle body was replaced again with part# 13400-85z21.issue reoccurred (01/25/12) and was taken to an import specialist that suspected the foot pedal sensor (est. Cost 350.00).subsequent service at dealership included wiring/signal correlation work between throttle body and foot pedal sensor.issue is reoccurring now (07/07/15) and after $1597.22 in repair costs since 2007 with this issue, i am hesitant to spend more money on a poorly engineered product that the manufacturer refuses to accept responsibility for by issuing a recall (similar complaints noted on this site and online.)
Car check engine light was on for a few days, then turned off. When i turned on the car, the check engine light was back on, put car in reverse and clunk, while the display where the r for reverse would have been was scrambled, car still reversed. Clunked into drive, and wouldn't switch out of 1st gear. This occurs sporadically. Check engine code signaled transmission range sensor malfunction. There are many other occurrences for the same model year which occurs around 70000 miles.
At around 50k miles, vehicle started shifting hard, not shifting into drive, then actually shifted into neutral while driving @ about 20-25 mph, with vehicles behind me.check engine light has recently appeared and produced codes 700 and 705 for range sensor.have researched and found the issue is well known and documented for this make and model, but recall has not been issued.
The contact owns a 2007 suzuki reno. The contact stated that the vehicle experienced stalling and an abnormal noise could be heard coming from the engine. In addition, the vehicle had an abnormal odor. The failure occurred without warning. The vehicle was towed to the contact's residence. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 115,000.
This is an on going occurrence since i have owned my vehicle, my engine light keeps coming on. I have taken it to the dealer numerous times and they keep telling me its just a sensor glitch and they have fixed it, along with my airbag light which is still on. A couple days after i leave the dealer, it comes back on and i lose power when i try to excelerate. This has happened to me a couple times when i am entering the interstate and i am getting sick of it. My original warranty has run out and i do not feel i should have to pay for them to fix a problem they still have not fixed although i have taken it to them when the warranty is in effect. Would this be covered under the power train warranty?? i see there are numerous complaints of the same problem..how many reports do you need to determine if this a manufacturing glitch. I am getting very frustrated with this (i should have been a long time ago). What can i do about this without coming out of my pocket. At this point i dont think i would ever by another suzuki and advise my friends against it.

The check engine light is on all the time.my vehicle has been acting like it does not want to go into gear.while i am driving it, it will shift out of gear into neutral.when i shift gears it will make a loud "clunk" noise and occasionally jerk the car.the closest suzuki dealership near me (since mine closed) is about 2 to 3 hours away.im sure my vehicle will not make it to the dealership.
My 2007 suzuki renojerks when you put it into reverse and check engine light comes on, then when you put it into drive it goes really slow and sometimes i have to drive it in 3rd gear i've read around done some research and i've seen alot of people with the same problem.
On 07/21/2014 i arrived at work turned off my 2007 suzuki reno. Later that day a coworker advised me my reno lights were still on. I immediately called my husband and he told me to try turning the vehicle on than off again but to no avail. He instructed me to get home as soon as i can so he could remove the drl and go on-line to look into this matter further. The following week we received a recall notice from suzuki motor of america. I have called several dealers in our area with negative response. We cannot drive at night due to this problem with this vehicle and it very frustrating.

Engine light comes on and goes off.car has problems starting: sometimes it starts in park, sometimes it will only start in neutral, other times i have to go through all the gears and go back to neutral.transmission range sensor seems to be problem from my online research.
Ihave replaced the transmission range sensor twice since purchasing my car new in 2008 and just last week i started having the same issue! so i will be replacing this same part for the 3rd time since purchasingit new 6 years ago.
Vehicle loses acceleration, and doesn't react properly to gas pedal.this makes it difficult to merge onto oncoming traffic and could cause an accident.by reading online it seems to be the transmission range sensor, a lot of people on forums are writing about this fault.this is the second time i've had to replace the sensor in the past 2 years.
When attempting to shift the vehicle from park to reverse or drive there will be a loud clunk sound. The check engine light will come on and the vehicle will not accelerate. If you shut the vehicle off and thenrestart, it will then accelerate but will not shift properly. I had the vehicle to ken pollock suzuki dealership in pennsylvania when it was still covered under warranty and they charged me $100.00 dollars to run a diagnostic code scan. They said that they could not find the problem but when asked to explain the codes that were retrieved, i was informed that they were generic transmission codes and that they would not or could not fix the vehicle. This is a ongoing problem and a severe safety concern considering the amount of complaints logged against this model vehicle.
I was driving my 2007 suzuki reno on the highway on my way to work when the car started to slow down despite me trying to give it gas, and the check engine light appeared.i pulled over and put the car in park and turned it off for a moment.i turned the car back on and the check engine light remained on.when trying to shift back into drive, my car jolted and an x appeared over the d where the gears are located.frightened, i turned the car off again and called the dealership, who told me to bring it in.they explained it was the transmission range sensor and fixed it free of charge because it was under warranty.3 years 2 months later the exact same thing happened again, luckily i was not driving this time only trying to shift into drive when an x appeared over the d again.i took it to a different suzuki dealer who explained that because it was outside the transmission it is not covered under warranty i would need to pay for the repair.no explanation was given as to why this was happening again.now here we are exactly 4 months later to the day and the same thing happened again while i was driving.i called the dealership and they said they will repair it for free because they only repaired it months ago, but still no explanation as to what the problem is.i now see i am not the only one having this issue with this vehicle, and was told by a mechanic, that part of this car is defective.i am livid at this point because i bought the car brand new with 27 miles on it and have had nothing but trouble ever since!!aggravation and money is all that car has been to me.
The contact owns a 2007 suzuki reno. The contact stated that the vehicle would not accelerate beyond 30 mph and the check engine light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and the contact was informed that a transmission sensor was faulty. The vehicle was then taken to an authorized dealer and the sensor was replaced. The failure continued to recur. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 39,500. The range sensor was replaced. Updated 01/03/12
The contact owns a 2007 suzuki reno. The contact stated that the vehicle shook, hesitated and lost acceleration. The failure was experienced several times. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where a diagnostic was performed, which located the failure at the transmission range switch. The vehicle was not repaired. The vin was not available. The failure and current mileage was 63,000.updated 11/19/13the consumer stated the vehicle was repaired at the dealer at a cost of $300.
Going into reverse heard and felt a hard loud clunk. Check engine light came on and car bare ly moved. Kept slipping in to neutral on highway top shop. Had checked transmission range sensor
The contact owns a 2007 suzuki reno. The contact stated when shifting into reverse, the vehicle would shift with an abnormal force and would not accelerate over 3 mph. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who located the failure at the transmission range sensor. The transmission range sensor was replaced, but the failure was not corrected. The manufacturer as contacted and a complaint was filed (case number: 2274091298). The manufacturer denied any assistance with the repairs to the vehicle stating that the warranty had expired. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 25,000 and the current mileage was 85,700.the vin was not available.

I have a 2007 suzuki reno.this vehicle has gone through five (5) transmission rage sensors since i bought it new in november, 2006.started having problems within two months.dealership in rock hill, sc had already shut down and doors were padlocked.have paid a lot of money to have this same sensor changed five times.why has suzuki not recalled this vehicle to correct the transmission problem??why has the nhtsa done nothing for all of these complaints about the same issue? my car "shifts" into neutral going down highway causing loss of power and acceleration without notice; then check engine light comes on.it is very unnerving and unsafe!!!please do something!!
Driving on the expressway about 60 mph my vehicle lost power. The accelerator stopped working. Immediately my vehicle went down to 30 mph. It felt like the gear went to neutral because the gas pedal wasn't working. In about 30 seconds went back to normal. But in about 20 minutes same thing happened again. It was very unsafe for the traffic around me. Thanks for my husband next to me, and his guidance as he is professional driver, i was able to make it safe to first lane.
I own 2007 suzuki reno since this year. Car was running good now its has 85600 miles on it approximately . I had loss of power, the car was not going into gear, went into neutral while driving replaced the transmission range sensor roughly 8mos ago and i am now experiencing the same symptoms now and just ordered the part from suzuki dealership.
My 2007 suzuki reno only have around 56000 miles and it started to shake while putting it on reverse gear. Don't move sometime after putting it on drive and make loud noise as i try to accelerate, engine light is on since july 2nd and these issues started from that time. I took it to a local o'reilly to check engine light code and they said its a transmission related code.
The contact owns a 2007 suzuki reno.the contact stated that the vehicle shook, hesitated, and lost acceleration intermittently.the failure occurred at various speeds.the vehicle was taken to the dealer who stated that the transmission needed to be replaced.the vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The vin was unavailable.the failure mileage was 78,000.
Transmission range sensor. Car slams into gear and gets stuck in 2nd gear after stopping. Putting car in park also slams into gear. Seems to be a very common problem among reno/forenza owners. Takes quite a long time to repair and is about $300. Seems like it should be included in a recall/warranty since it is connected to the transmission but of course it is not.
Transmission range sensor is faulty. Car bangs into gear from park and reverse, as well as erratically shifts into neutral while driving.
The contact owns a 2007 suzuki reno. The contact stated that the vehicle would hesitate to accelerate from stops. The vehicle would also jerk when shifting gears and the check engine light began to illuminate on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the contact was informed that the transmission range sensor would need to be replaced. An authorized dealer was notified, but the manufacturer was not. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileages were 62,000. The vin was unavailable.
The contact owns a 2007 suzuki reno.the contact stated that she was unable to accelerate over 20 mph and the vehicle was unable to shift between gears.the vehicle would exhibit an abnormal clunking noise followed by the illumination of the gear shifter warning light. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the transmission range sensor was replaced.the manufacturer was made aware of the failure.the current mileage was 67,000.the approximate failure mileage was 65,000.updated 9/27/11 the consumer stated when she put the vehicle in drive, it made a noise and then lurched forward. The indicator light for the gear flashed and the vehicle would not move out of 1st gear. Updated 10/07/711
The contact owns a 2007 suzuki reno.the contact stated was driving 65 mph with the cruise control engaged when the vehicle suddenly slipped into neutral but the shifter indicated that the vehicle was still in drive. The vehicle independently decelerated to 30 mph. The contact was able to drive to his destination where her performed a diagnostic himself and discovered that the transmission range sensor was faulty. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that he did not feel safe driving the vehicle to the dealer for repairs or further inspection.the vin was not available.the failure mileage was 36,900.
My 2007 suzuki renojerks when you put it into reverse and check engine light comes on, then when you put it into drive it goes really slow and sometimes i have to drive it in 3rd gear i've read around done some research and i've seen alot of people with the same problem.
1 placing the vehicle in any gear causes this particular problem. My vehicle began to show symptoms at about 30,000 miles.2when the vehicle is placed in any gear, a diagnostic code is set that only allows the vehicle to operate in drive or reverse. Lower gears are not allowed to operate when in this mode of operation. Initially the failure was when the vehicle was cold (below 60 degrees f) later the problem occurred frequently when the vehicle was started. The result is very sluggish acceleration of the vehicle which could result in a crash after pulling into traffic.3 replacement of the "prndl" or park-neutral switch or transmission range switch ( all names for the same part) corrected the problem. Note: the transmission repair shop noted that this was a common failure item on many vehicles and thedealer where the replacement part was purchased had 3 in their shop (for the same problem) at the time the part was purchased. The dealer also told the transmission tech that they replaced about 3 of these switches per week on average.
Check engine light came on about a month ago, since then the transmission slips, has no power accelerating and sometimes drive won't work, just 3rd gear. When vehicle is driven over 50 mph, rpms rev high, past 3 or 4 thousand. I think it's the transmission sensor failing.
Driving at 60 miles per hr and the car s speed will drop down to 20 miles and the engine light will come on (check engine)also i will be stopped at a red light when it is time to proceed and while pressing on gas pedal it will only go up to 5-8 miles it occurs every two to three days. The suzuki dealership has looked at it 5 times for the same thing they check the computer chip and tell me the gas cap was not on tight they replaced the gas pedal. They replaced the hose leading to the gas and pedal and they have it now again i just want my car fixed.
Manufacturer's (suzuki american cars/motors) dealership-pugmire lincoln-mercury suzuki, service manager, forrest beaman, refused to replace the front seat belt tongue which can not latch into the buckle and, in rare cases, even the locked tongue will pop out by low stretching force. If the buckle does not latch completely, the buckle could release without pressing the release button.nhtsa campaign id number: 07v315000 please advise via email.[xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).
The contact owns a 2007 suzuki reno.the contact stated that her seat belt failed.the ford dealer stated that there were no recalls on the seat belt, but advised her to bring in the vehicle for repair.the contact plans to have the vehicle repaired on her next day off from work.the failure mileage was 34,000.
Upon executing a left hand turn at approximately 32 mph, the inner support brace in the bottom seat cushion broke. This caused my foot which was on the accelerator to be jammed forward and caused the vehicle to downshift and accelerate through the turn. The seat is now unable to be adjusted forward or backward. Upon further online research, this is quite a common occurrence on these cars.
Luckily i was parked. Turned on my car to roll up the windows and suddenly the drivers side seat exploded, with what looked like an airbag inside the seat. It hit my arm causing a bruise. The seat is now torn and busted.

My 2007 suzuki renojerks when you put it into reverse and check engine light comes on, then when you put it into drive it goes really slow and sometimes i have to drive it in 3rd gear i've read around done some research and i've seen alot of people with the same problem.
Transmission range sensor is faulty. Car bangs into gear from park and reverse, as well as erratically shifts into neutral while driving.
Going into reverse heard and felt a hard loud clunk. Check engine light came on and car bare ly moved. Kept slipping in to neutral on highway top shop. Had checked transmission range sensor
