2000 suzuki 1500lc intruder gas tank developed stress crack along seam of tank.leaks fuel directly underneath operators scrotum! all model years affected.please go to:http://forums.delphiforums.com/rlcmc/start this is an internet forum consisting of hundreds of 1500lc owners.several of us have experienced this terrible problem.thank you.john ponzo.
The fuel tank under the seat cracked and leaked. The crack is always located on the upper right mount area. It's a small hairline crack at first and difficult to see. The problem is well documented on the lc/c90 delphi forum.fuel runs out of the tank causing a potential fire problem.i used jb weld to correct the problem. Other had have had a new tank installed which can crack too. This is a very common problem with intruder 1500 lc's.
My suzuki 1500 intruder motorcycle's emissions system failed. I noticed smell of gasoline about the vehicle. Upon inspection i found a bad weld in the seam on the gas tank at the frontright mounting tab. For some reason the tank seems to be under stress at that point, that combined with a defective seam weld at that location caused a leak a that point.i have temporarily repaired the tank by removing the bolt from that area relieving the stress and covered the leaking area with epoxy to stop the gas leak. I have several other friends that have experienced the exact same problem and can put you in contact with them if you like.
Gas tank leak on 2000 suzuki intruder 1500. May cause injury or death if leaks on exhaust system.
Gas tank leaks. Underneath the gas tank. Very dangerous!
While riding my 2000 suzuki vl 1500 lc motorcycle, it has on several occasions slipped out of gear into a "false" neutral.this has happened in both 4th and 5th gear.usually under a load, like pulling up a hill or with a passenger or both. *nlm
Purchased 2000 suzuki intruder vl1500 in may 2002 with 7000 miles on bike.problem began to show up almost immediately. After shifting into 4th gear, transmission will intermittently pop out of gear, usually under acceleration but sometimes at cruise, causing a "false neutral" situation.the last time this happened was while attempting to pass another vehicle which created an extremely scary situation due to oncoming traffic conditions. *nlm
Transmission pops out of gear while under load, especially while trying to pass vehicles.
My 2000 suzuki intruder 1500lc jumps out of 4th gear when accelerating.it has done it numerous times.this is dangerous when passing particularly.several other people on the suzuki users forum have mentioned this problem.
The vehicle slips out of 4th and 5th gears under power, ie: passing, negotiating tight turns, and climbing hills. We know this to be a problem on at least one other motorcyle of the same make and model, with approximately the same miles.
I purchased a suzuki 1500 intruder, with 2500 miles, inmay, from the original owner. It has popped out of 4th gear numerous times, under moderate to hard acceleration, as in, entering an freeway, on the ramp, trying to get up to speed to merge. Also extremely dangerous when passing a vehicle on a 2-lane divided highway(country road). I hope the engine hasn't been hurt, by being overeved.if you drive a car, can you imagine flooring it to get on the freeway, then having someone shift it into neutral!!! not good! i manage an automotive transmission shop, so i have knowledge of how it works etc. There must be a weak part, too much endplay, bad shift fork etc. I have tried to shift it different ways, hold it in etc. To no avail. This situation needs attention, someone is going to get hurt, i fear. I know it's not from abuse, wear etc. Bad right out of the box! it seems to be more prevelant in the 2000 model year? i've a suzuki fan, and have owned "6"uzuki's. I hope they take the oppurtunity to correct this. It's a good motorcycle.
2000 suzuki intruder vl 1500 lc pops out of 4th gear and goes into a " false" neutral. Every time i ride about every 3rd or 4th time i shift to 4th gear. This became a problem about 4000mi and continued to worsen . There is 13000mi on the bike now. When accelerating on an entrance ramp to a highway it will pop out of 4th gear causing the engine to rev very high, cause instability, and loose speed. This is a very dangerous situation when trying to merge with traffic.
2000 suzuki vl intruder 1500lc:"false neutral" between fourth and fifth gear causes over-revving and safety issues when entering highways, passing etc.also, occasionally the transmission will pop out of gear while just riding along at normal in-town speeds.*nlm
Purchased bike in may 2002 and problem was happening at that time as well as since then.after shifting into 4th (and sometimes 5th) gear, transmission will "pop" out of gear into a "phantom neutral" condition.this mainly happens under acceleration but can happen during cruising (seems to "fall" out of gear).the last time this happened was while passing another vehicle which created a very tense moment due to oncoming traffic conditions. *nlm
Continuing problems with motorcycle jumping out of gear on acceleration and "false neutrals." this problem is continuous and start date was approximately 5000 miles onmotorcycle last year.
While driving at any speed consumer heard a loud squeaking noise.consumer applied the brake pedal and the brakes failed.consumer was able to maintain control of the vehicle, and pulled over. Vehicle was taken to the dealer for inspection, andmechanic determined that the brakes needed to be replaced, and replaced them twice. However, the problem recurred.
Rear brakes locked up on rear tires three times.
