Drive chain snapped while driving, two repairs to chain since ownership, due to possible weak material. Mjs
The fuel screens in the '99 model year fuel pump clog up completely causing the motorcycle to stall. The screen on my bike was removed by my local dealer at my insistance and cost and was completely blocked by a copper colored residue. I had been complaining about the stalling for three years without any resolution before i demanded that the screen be replaced.this issue is incorrectly addressed by a voluntary recall by suzuki. The voluntary recall replaces the screens inside the fuel injectors and the screen inside the tank but not the screen inside the pump itself. My motorcycle continued to stall after the voluntary recall was performed. Suzuki has twice redesigned the fuel pump system on this model to address the issue on future year models.

Timing chain is stretching quickly, and ifbraking,it will will break the motor case.motorcylce has only 2,000 miles. It was checked at 600 miles. Dealer showedconsumer an article aboutchains stretching. They are aware of the problem. Also, consuemr has metal pieces sticking out of the seat.consumer complained to the deaelr & was told to buy an aftermarket seat that they had nothing to do with.

Suzuki great britain provides free replacement of the aluminum subframe with a steel version.i think suzuki usa shold do the same.
There have been many reports of subframes failing (breaking at the weld) on 1999 and 2000 suzuki, hayabusa motorcycles. In 2001 suzuki went to steel subframes rather than the aluminum subframes of the earlier models. Some failures have caused accidents and injuries. Suzuki does not seem to want to remedy this problem for the owners of 99 and 00 year models.
Rear aluminum subframe has a history of splitting at the weld points.can be replaced with steel subframe.
A large number of reports of this component failing on 1999 & 2000 models has generated my concern.failures have been reported since 1999 and suzuki has not acknowledged a problem.owners of these model years suzuki gsx1300r motorcycles need to be made aware of the potential failure of the subframe under normal usage.reports have been made that a uk based engineering consulting firm has examined three individual subframes from these model year gsx1300r's and pronounced them "not fit for their designated purpose".please look into this issue on behalf of the thousands of owners of this motorcycle.
I have not had a failure, but some of my friends have. I would like someone to look into the rear sub-frame failurs.
