We just bought this car in august 2012.since then my seat belt button turned on and took it to the suzuki dealer and they fixed it.also the passenger air bag also and they fixed it.then took it to the dealer to get the oil changed and they said i had a radiator leak ( i wonder how true was that sometimes) repaired it and it cost $400.... Now when i was driving the car check engine light turned on and now it was the gas cap that needed to be replaced!!! wth so we replaced that part. Now after we fix that, guess what also starts happening the car just starts to slow down and again check engine light turns on!!! we take it to get a diagnosis and it gives us p0705 p0700 and that now is the transmission range sensor!!! this is crazy!!hopefully nothing else will go wrong..... I feel that suzuki should have a recall on this transmission range sensor especially.. As i see...many people are going through this and people should be compensated for the money that we all have wasted and frustration we are all going through.... Suzuki needs to fix this problem...
Passenger airbag off light is on even with passenger in seat. I am surprisethere is not a recall for this problem which can lead to serious injury and even fatalities. Suzuki issued a recall for the grand vitaras. This is down right pathetic and is a slap in the face to their customers. I will definitely be filing a lawsuit about this matter if nothing done about this matter.
Traveling w on nc 24 stopped in traffic at light.other vehicle lost control, struck front drivers door and rear passenger door on drivers side of car.airbags did not deploy.hit head on door frame.having headaches and a knot on head.picking glass out of head for several weeks.neck hurts, left and right arm hurt with swelling and knots and bruises.left side of body hurts: ribs, hip, leg, knee and shin.
Was hit by a pontiac on the passenger side of the vehicle and the air bags did not go off. The manual states that i have air bags that are in the passenger and driver seats that are supposed to go off if an accident occurs. Due to this, my passenger and i suffered injuries that could have been fatal, if i had not tried to avoid the accident.also, the center console broke during the accident, causing the gear shift to stick, and when you turn the engine off, it won't go all the way off until you jerk the gear shift toward the driver seat.
Transmission range sensor, is going out my car will not stay in gear anymore very dangerous to drive and is not covered under warranty and cost 300 dollars also my air bad sensor on the driver side does not go off anymore and have already broke a door handle suzuki is horrible which haven't checked the price on those and i have saw a lot of people are having the same problems.
The contact owns a 2007 suzuki forenza. The vehicle was taken to the dealer three times for the failure. She contacted gmc who referred her to another dealer who replaced the bottom portion of the engine. The contact stated that there was also a problem with the transmission and the vehicle slipped out of gear. She stated that the dealer performed a diagnostic test and no codes indicated that there was a failure.she stated that the engine light was on. The manufacturer suggested that she take the vehicle back to an authorized dealer to have the vehicle repaired. The vehicle was not repaired for any other the failures. Steering column looks to be warped and ignition switch is not working.

The passenger seat air bag cushion is activated by weight, going down the road the caution dash panel lights came on, indicating that my wife was under i think 40 lbs. Which is not no where near correct. Since this incident the lights indicating the air bags are not activated, remain on continually when the wagon is running. I believe this could be a safety hazard if an accident were to occur. Please respond!! thanks

2007 suzuki forenza...air bag warning light stays on, had it fixed four times and its back on again. This is a very intriguing situation as well as very dangerous. My warranty is expired as of april 13, 2010....my dealership is eighty miles away from my house. Service contract was voided after original dealership energy country suzuki folded and i had already purchased vehicle. They still have suzuki experience but refuse to work my car and honor the service contract they offered with the vehicle. Energy country ford, still exists and their mechanics are trained on suzuki's and they promised me that they would continue to service my car but now they have welshed on the contract. My car needs serviced but i have to take it eighty miles into louisiana. I live in texas. And this is the only vehicle that i own. A royal screwing all the way around...
Suzuki forenza 2007, 42,000 miles.1) transmission range sensor:transmission slips when in drive -- panel shows a "d" with a slash through it. After researching, have found this to be extremely common among the most well-maintained forenzas. Unacceptable.engine light came on and as soon as i tried to go forward ,the car would just decelerate down like 10 or 20 mph "scary" within a matter of seconds and no matter how much i pushed the pedal to accelerate to the floor but it was as if i didn't have power.2)tire pressure light comes on every other day.3)the front passenger air bag light comes on to show the air bag is not working even if i have a passenger seated properly in the front seat.
The front passenger air bag light comes on to show the air bag is not working even if i have a passenger seated properly in the front seat.it does not do this all the time but it happens enough to concern me and my wife.i had the same problem with a 2006 model year of the same car.we had other problems with that car as well and the dealer took it back and sold us the 2007 which has some of the same problems.this has been happening on and off since we got the car in march of 2007.

I have a suzuki/forenza 2007 and on monday 02/01/2010 while on my way to work i was involved in a car accident while in the turnpike north. I was going at about 60 to 65 miles/hour and another driver lost control of his car because of the rain and i hit him at that speed. It was a head collision/ t bone like and even though the front end of the car was all crashed including the hard bumper the air bags on my car did deploy. I do believe that there is something wrong with this system in this car.updated 02/26/10 the consumer stated the vehicle was declared a total loss. The engine was cracked. The main support frame that held the vehicle at the bottom was bent and the air bags did not deploy.updated 04/29/10.

Oxygen sensor was bad 3 months after buting car, both airbags in dash are defective. Sensors are lighting up and it says can deploy at any time get car serviced. My dealership acts like they don't want to help me.

We were in our apartment when the complex maintenance worker knocked on our door and said our car was on fire. The car was off, sitting in the parking lot unused. We went outside and waited for the fire department to arrive, and put out the fire. It was found that the wiring behind the fuse panel had caught fire and caused extensive damage to the dash and door panel. It was after this that we found out there was a recall on our vehicle we had not been notified about.
The contact owns a 2007 suzuki forenza. The contact stated that a burning smell was emitted from under the instrument panel. While the technician was disconnecting the battery, the fire department arrived at the scene and assisted the technician to extinguish the fire. A fire report was filed. There were no injuries. The vehicle was towed to the residence of the contact's friend. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and requested copies of the fire pictures. The failure mileage was approximately 128,000.
I bought 2007 suzuki forenza with only 50 miles on it.i have had nothing but problems with it and now it poses a safety risk since the dealership can't find anything about it.it suddenly stops while i am driving.i lose control and need to move it all the way across the highway.i have come several times close to being hit.all lights on the dashboard are showing even though it might not be the problem.
While driving the car on the highway the light for the engine came on and the car died. After being towed it was determined that the head was blown. After replacing the engine the light remains on and now there is a problem with the transmission. There is supposed to be a defect in a sensor for the transmission that keeps these problems happening in this vehicle.
Before taking my kids to school, i put my car in reverse to back out of my parking space, as soon as i switched it from reverse to drive, my car would not move. I noticed that on the digital screen that the "d" had a slash mark as if to say "no driving", and the check engine light came on. I put the car in park and turned it off. I restarted it to see if maybe it was a glitch in the system. This time, i went from park to drive and the slash mark was still on drive, however i was able to drive the car very slowly.. It wouldn't go over 5mph. I reversed and parked back into my parking space. Once this happened, i decided to do some research. Turns out, it is the transmission range sensor, and a lot of owners are having the same issue. The next day, i decided to attempt to drive it again.. Because we all know these cars have a mind of their own and seem to decide to go bad one day and act completely normal the next! i started the car and the check engine light was on, but seemed to drive fine. I drove it to have it tested at the auto store. The test confirmed that it was the transmission range sensor. I then stopped at a store on my way home. I was in the store less than 5 minutes, came out to my car, and it would not start! i thought the battery had ironically died. My brother in law came to jump it, but had no success. I turn the key all the way over, and the service lights come on, but it wont even try to turn over.. Its almost as if the car has nothing under the hood... Crazy that it wont even attempt to start. My brother in law says it may be the starter, but something tells me this all has something to do with the transmission range sensor. Please put this part on recall! i've seen enough complaints from owners that i cant believe there hasn't been one yet. Enough is enough! recall the transmission range sensor! this is dangerous!!!!
The contact owns a 2007 suzuki forenza. While parked, the vehicle was unable to start and had to be jumped by a tow company. The failure recurred intermittently. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The vin was included in nhtsa campaign number: 14v262000 (exterior lighting); however, the part needed for the repair was not available. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacture was notified of the issue. The failure mileage was 93,000.
Head lights stay on running battery down.called suzuki regarding posted, may 2014 for day light running light issues and they haven't decided recall/repairs, that i would receive a letter if recall is issued. Constantly have to have assistance to jump the battery.
The contact owns a 2007 suzuki forenza.the vehicle has lock out security, which caused the doors to lock automatically when the engine was off with the key in the ignition.the contact stated that her baby was locked inside the vehicle and the police had to be called to unlock the doors.the failure mileage was 8,500 and the current mileage was 9,000.
A person driving behind our car (suzuki-forenza) pulled up next to us and stated we didn't have any back tail lights we also noticed on our dashboard the airbag light came on and wouldn't go off. We stopped and checked the fuses, bulbs and found both in good working order but we still had no tail lights. Attempted to head to an auto parts store to seek help(sunday) and realized that the gear shift would not come out of park. Read the manual and had to utilize the release mech. Everytime we stopped the car and placed it in park. Also, some type of engine noise maybe fan belt continues and has to go back to the shop.
This suzuki needs to be recalled altogether! no one should still be driving these. Not only can the headlights or brake light sensor switches go bad and just stop working, they overheat, drain the battery, overwork the alternator, which then needs to be replaced, the fall displays every gear all at once even while in drive and displaying a speed the vehicle is traveling. The door handles brake off, so you can not escape the death trap.they have blown head gasket, many small oil leaks, tire pressure gage problems, tires/wheels won't align, this balds the tire lop sided so tire blow outs occur more frequently. Half the tone it won't even go, now or won't start at all. Many more issues with this vehicle, buyer beware, do not buy these cars!
The contact owns a 2007 suzuki forenza. The contact received a recall notification for nhtsa campaign number: 14v262000 (electrical system); however, the part needed for the repair was unavailable. The manufacturer was not notified. The vin was unknown. The contact had not experienced a failure.
I keep having to stick a key in my shift lock just to get the car out of park and has been occurring for a while now. The part you put the seat belt into when you put it on keeps sticking down so you can't wear a seat belt sometimes and i have had to replace my transmission range sensor about every 3 months since i have had the car which is ridiculous.
Headlights won't turn off.while driving on the expressway black smoke blew in my face. Electrical wires were on fire. I was able to pull over and get out without getting hit by the fast cars going by. Called 911 the fire department came put out the fire.
4 months after purchasing my 2007 suzuki forenza i already had to replace the transmission sensor then after that 2 months later again, ac goes out reason unknown, the windows on the passenger side stop working it won't roll down, also the airbag light won't go off, the passenger seat airbag lights stays on saying it is not activated, my signal lights and hazard lights don't work can't figure out the problem, my alarm system stops working then starts working again thought it might be a fuse but can't find a fuse or switch for it, my locks keeps unlocking and locking on its own while the car is in motion weird....now my headlights won't turn off i have to take out my fuse during the day then put it back in at night very annoying....reading so many of these reviews and complaints we all have same problems very annoying =/
The contact owns a 2007 suzuki forenza. The contact stated that while powering off the vehicle, smoke emitted from the instrument panel and caught on fire. The contact stated that the fire spread to the interior of the vehicle. The fire department was not called to extinguish the fire. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure and current mileage was 65,000.
Dash lights went out in car. Checked fuse and no bad fuse. Went to drive the car and then noticed had no break lights, head lights, and windows did not roll down. I had high beams if i wanted to drive it while holding the light switch for the high beams.had all fuses checked, and was then told it was in the wiring!!!car had been in the shop before for transmission range sensors. It seems to be one issue after another with this car all of a sudden. Tire pressure light come on for a few days then goes out for a few, and that is with new tires. Not very happy with this car at all..
After my daytime running lights stayed on all night, my battery died and i had to have the engine jumped.i went along with my day, parked my car at the bus lot and went to work.after returning to the car, i smelled smoke.when i tried to pop my hood, i noticed the interior paneling under my steering wheel was black and melted.the hood would not pop open because the release lever was also melted.there was smoke damage on my windshield near the air/defrost vents and on anything sitting in my car.lucky for me, i was not in the car when the fire occurred and it was in a parking lot where no one was around to get injured.after having the transmission sensor replaced on the car 4 times before they replaced the entire transmission, i've realized there were electrical problems with this car long before the fire occurred.many others have complained about a fire in this exactly make/model/year car.suzuki should be ashamed for making such terrible cars and filing for bankruptcy right before the problem occurs so there is nothing to be done/no accountability.
I am sick and tired of replacing my transmission range sensor!!!!!!!!!! and now after doing so, once again. My car wont start, battery is fine. I think that this needs to be a recall!!!! i have one more year left to pay off this car. I cant afford to keep replacing this problem. Had to replace this problem in 2009, and now again. Someone fix this!!!!
When turning my car on and putting it into reverse, the car suddenly jerked and the check engine light came on. The "r" should appear for reverse on the dash, but all the letters ("p", "r", "d", etc) were scrambled together. The car drove in reverse and when i put it into drive, it jerked again and then would hardly accelerate. After driving it for a couple minutes, turning it off, and turning it back on, it would finally accelerate normally, but the check engine light would still be on and the gears would still jerk. The check engine light would go off after a few days and everything would be fine, but still the same problem happens again in a short term.
I have been trying since the beginning of the year to get the recall item repaired but have been unable to locate a local dealership or repair shop willing to do the necessary work.there are only two in the largo florida area.the suzuki motor company has repeatedly failed to respond to all my requests for assistance.
Was driving and transmission range sensor went bad and car jumped out of gear no warning. Traffic behind almost collided. My 4 year old was in back seat. Very scary. Called suzuki and they said this is an extremely common problem considering my make, model, mileage. So why am i, a single disabled mother, responsible for getting a well known, unsafe manufacturer issue repaired.....i can't afford this and from what i was told most people with similar issue had this problem not only once but few months after getting repair done. This is extremely unsafe! car shifting and stalling while at full speed! me and my son could have been seriously hurt! planning to call suzuki customer relations to see if they can fix issue because it is not fair that i have to come up with way to repair such a dangerous problem so many suzuki owners have experienced.
When turning my car on and putting it into reverse, the check engine light came on and my car jerked into gear and where the r should appear for reverse on the dash, all the letters were scrambled together. The car drove in reverse and then when i put it into drive, it jerked again and then would hardly accelerate. After driving the car for a couple minutes, turning it off, and turning it back on, it would finally accelerate but the check engine light would still be on and the gears would still jerk. The check engine light would go off after a couple days and everything would be fine and then it would all start again. Then my car is starting to switch over into neutral when driving 60mph+ and now it will do this multiple times when driving at any speed. When it switches over to neutral like this while i'm driving, the d for drive on the dash will become scrambled like it does when it jerks into reverse. The problem is getting worse.
The head lights on my daughters 2007 suzuki forenza stop working then at one point work again then one side turn off then the other thenturn signals will stop working on one side then the other then they are fine then the day time running lights stop and start working as described above this is something that has been recalled on the 2003 to 2006 and now this is happening on the 2007. Something should be done before there is a crash or fire.
I have been reading all the comments on this car and i've had every one of them...i have a 2007 suzuki forzena and my car problems started at about 25,000 miles. I have taken it in sooo many times with no resolve. The check engine light and tire pressure light still comes on every other day. I've had issues when i'm driving on the highway at 60 mph and the car would just decelerate down to 35 mph within a matter of seconds and no matter how much i pushed the pedal to accelerate to the floor it would not budge...this is very dangerous and i don't know why this company is still allowed to make cars. The "loaner" car that they say they give you in the warranty is a joke. We've had to rent our own cars and "wait" to be reimbursed. The dealerships they send you to cant find anything wrong with it. No matter what the problem with the car you still have to make your payments....this car has too many problems!!!!
On 11/11/2013 my car was parked in my driveway and caught fire (electrical)this is one of the recalls onthis vehicle,(certain passenger vehicles, headlamp low beam or daytime running light (drl) function may be inoperative due to a melted splice pack on the wiring harness).i have had these problems with my vehiclethe headlamp low beam and the daytime running light, would not turn on or off.
This is the 2nd recall on the drl module in 2 years. I have had to replace my battery terminals on the car. The headlights won't turn off unless i unhook the battery. The recall got started in may 2014, the recall was mailed out in july 2014 and the recall is being done while suzuki does not have the parts. The car company will take for ever to get the parts. I called suzuki and was told that if my car catches on fire it is not their concern. In the meantime i have no other way to work. I can not register the car, can not do the inspection, can not drive it. This is such a hardship for a lot of people. Suzuki says that they will put you through to their corporate office, but that is a big joke. Is it any wonder why they have not sold new vehicles in the us since 2012.i just want my car fixed and suzuki will take care of all the electrical wrongs on my car. If enough people complain something will get done.
I have an '07 suzuki forenza, the transmission keeps slipping gears and sometimes it gets stuck in 3rd gear. The dealer said it was not covered by warranty because "it's an electrical problem"; the transmission range sensor is going out. Costs around $200 dollars to repair.the dealer also admittedly stated that it's a common problem with this particular model.
Cpsc: x1481026a. 2007 suzuki forenza. Consumer stated the car caught on fire and it was caused by a mechanical failure. *lnthe consumer stated prior to the fire, he encountered an issue with the headlights flickering. The headlights would stay on, after the key was removed from the ignition.also, there was a toxic smell emitting from the vents.
The contact owns a 2007 suzuki forenza. The contact stated thatthe key would become extremely hot in the ignition after driving the vehicle for 15 minutes or more. The contact was concerned that the key would potentially cause burns. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who stated that the occurrence was normal. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 40,000.
I recently lost my car which was a '07 suzuki forenza to what has been described as a mechanical car fire brought on by some sort of mechanical failure. I believe this was a culmination of a series of failures over time despite whatever action i took to avoid it. Initially i encountered intense flickering with my headlamps. Headlights would stay on even after removing the key from the ignition.i believe that the consistence of this occurrence, has caused my vehicle's battery to fail. I ultimately had to have the battery replaced. I would also have a toxic smell come through the ventilation system from time to time. It smelled like something burning and melting. However, i was never able to determine what it was. This was going on intermittently for quite sometime. Then eventually my car was lost to the mechanical car failure fire. I was fortunate to get out of the vehicle with only minor injuries such as burns and smoke inhalation.incident date: 12/28/2013incident location: lake worth floridapalm beach sheriffs office / lake worth police case # [xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).
Transmission shift sensor is what everything points to.when operating the vehicle in drive, the transmission suddenly ceases to operate correctly, and seems as if it has shifted into neutral. The shift selection indicator on the display panel shows a fault and the check engine light comes on. Upon investigating the issue online it seems as though this has become a recent issue with the suzuki forenza in the past months, ranging between the 2007 and 2008 models. This failure poses many safety concerns.
The contact owns a 2007 suzuki forenza. The contact stated that the vehicle caught on fire from inside the vehicle while parked. The fire department was not called. The contact did not take the vehicle to a dealer or a mechanic for diagnosis of the failure. The origin of the fire was unknown. The failure mileage was 113,000.
Vehicle has odor of smoke or unknown smell advised suzuki who referred me to someone who does not handle repairs. I advised them i work for an auto body who states vehicle is unsafe to drive- passenger air bag light is also on. Recall notice advises of significant risk of fire. Steering column looks to be warped and ignition switch is not working.
Transmission would sometimes slip what feels like neutral (no power) while in drive.other times transmission would stay in drive and would not down shift autoor manual.frequency is increasing. Cost at dealer is financially prohibitive at this time. Research indicates problem is common to this and prior year manufacture.
The contact owned a 2007 suzuki forenza. The contact noticed that the windshield was cracked and the parked vehicle was filled with black smoke. A police report was not filed and the fire department was not notified. The vehicle was destroyed. The vehicle was parked at the contact's residence. The cause of the failure was not determined. The vin was excluded from nhtsa campaign number: 14v262000 (exterior lighting). The approximate failure mileage was 86,000.
I received recall notice in regards to the headlamp switch or daytime running light (drl) module which could melt the headlamp switch or the drl module.i took car to dealer and they replaced the signal switch.now when i start the car the headlights flicker and when i release the parking brake the running lights come on but very dim to bright.i am concerned about the light flicker when starting car.
I just had this part replaced in january 2012 now 2 months later check engine light going on in the middle of driving. Went to autozone and guess what transmission range sensor again!!!!! i bought part from dealer in january and had mylicensed auto mechanic put it in, now car doing exactly same thing it did in january car jerking into reverse , scrambledgear letters on dash board, this part is defective what do i have to do replace it every 2 months!!!! make it a recall already , i am not the only complaint!!!!
On 12/3/08 @ 12:30 a.m., my 2007 suzuki forenza caught fire resulting in a total loss. I've contacted suzuki & i'm awaiting there return call.the fire marshall ruled out arson & concluded that the origin of the fire was underneath the hood resulting from electrical wiring in the vehicle.i purchased the vehicle in may of 2008 & i've never had a problem since the purchase.on 12/2/08, i drove the vehicle once in the morning & then again in the evening.both trips were short distances.on the evening/early morning of 12/3/08 i woke upto my car engulfed in flames.
My check engine light came on after i placed the car in reverse, it gavea big "thunk" sound. I turned the car off and restarted it.the check engine light is still on.when i went to the dealership to get a diagnosis and they said it was a transmission range sensor gone bad!$250 to replace.as you can see that there are a lot of customer complaints on the same issue but no recall.i have already had the brake light sensor replaced earlier this year and a power steering pump!not liking suzuki right now!
The contact owns a 2007 suzuki forenza. The contact stated that while parked, she activated the headlights and noticed a fire coming from underneath the hood. The headlights then became inoperative. The dealer was unable to duplicate the failure. The manufacturer had not been notified. The failure mileage was unknown and the current mileage was 53,000.
I have had to repair so much on this car in such a short amount of time, i am going nuts...almost every month its something else!i have had blown head gaskets, replaced broken door handles (they broke again), chipping paint (for no reason), brake light switch system, now the transmission range sensor is bad.to replace the tires, the cheapest you can find is $130/tire new.i am out of thousands of dollars when the care was supposed to be under warranty and "americas best powertrain" but everything in the car that is going bad, isn't covered!my 2007 suzuki forenza sucks!
Oxygen sensor was bad 3 months after buting car, both airbags in dash are defective. Sensors are lighting up and it says can deploy at any time get car serviced. My dealership acts like they don't want to help me.
The contact owns a 2007 suzuki forenza. While driving 30 mph, the contact observed smoke coming from the dashboard and smelled a strong burning odor. The contact immediately pulled the vehicle over. Moments later, the fuse box shorted out and caused a small fire. The fire department was not called. The manufacturer and dealer were not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was 34,000.

Shifter lock solenoid defect, for no apparent reason i now have to jam a key into the shifter to switch out of 'park' every single time i start my car.
I was driving down the expressway and i was doing 65 mph and my car started stalling as i pressed the gas then i floored the gas because my car was starting to reverse down the expressway all of a sudden my car froze and my computer on my dash had all the letters scrambled for drive, reverse, park etc and had a line through it i was soooo scared i had a big truck behind me.
Driving along when all of a sudden the engine just cut off, i still had electrical power, all systems were still working.i got to side of road turned everything off.i then tried starting the engine, after about three or four times the engine would start.i then drove the car trying to get home, when i would come to a stop light the engine would stall again.this could cause a very bad accident if on an interstate at high speed.
My check engine light came on to find that my transmission switch had gone bad causing it not to shiftcorrectly....thinking no big deal, i took it to my mechanic.he said these transmissions were known as throw away transmissions.i came home and googled my problem to find numerous lower mileage suzuki forenzas with the same issue, some almost causing accidents. Please consider a mandatory recall on this part.
My car keeps over heatingand it been a problem since i bought the car now i got exhause coming outta the coolant tank.now the car headers are blown are fried due to a defect in the vehical makingi was in motion during the time of the incident when the car started actn up....
The car has a big problem changing gear and when i drive sometimes it slows down and couple of times i almost got into accident because of car slowing down and at times when i try to switch gears it clunks so hard and it is becoming very dangerous driving with my kids in the car because either the car wont change gears or looses speed when i am driving and that can cause a big accident and i call suzuki dealership and its not under warranty, there should be a recall on this vehicle it is very dangerous and they are the ones making poor quality parts for the engine, and from other consumers i am not the only one with the same issue and worries. Please help!

The contact owns a 2007 suzuki forenza. After the contact parked the vehicle and left, she noticed that the dashboard and visor were melted when she returned. The windshield was foggy due to an apparent engine fire. The insurance company was notified. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle has not been repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 64,000.
The contact owns a 2007 suzuki forenza. The contact stated that the check engine warning light remained illuminated after flashing for several months. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who replaced the 02 sensor, but the failure recurred. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 120,000.
I could really use some assistance. I have a 2007 forenza and yesterday as i was putting the car into reverse, it made a loud clunking noise. The gear selector display on the dash seemed to go haywire displaying all the letters (d, r, n, etc) with a diagonal line through it. It then went back to normal, then the "check engine" light came on.they hooked up the diagnostic computer and it came up with codes po700 and po705, which varies in wording but seems like it's the transmission range sensor.i have read that many other people have had the same problem. This is a problem that suzuki should take care of a sensor cost to those who bought their cars.
I was driving down my street in my 2007 suzuki forenza with 71,510 miles, then on the panel it started flashing (p,n,d with a diagonal line through them) and i took it to autozone and they said it was the transmission...

The contact did not take the vehicle to a dealer or a mechanic for diagnosis of the failure. The origin of the fire was unknown. The failure mileage was 113,000.
The car indicates that it is no longer in drive. Even though on the shifter it says it is still in drive. Also when driving down the road the car will come out of drive. To fix the problem you must pull the car into third gear, wait a few minutes then put it back into drive.
While driving the car on the highway the light for the engine came on and the car died. After being towed it was determined that the head was blown. After replacing the engine the light remains on and now there is a problem with the transmission. There is supposed to be a defect in a sensor for the transmission that keeps these problems happening in this vehicle.
Power steering replaced, many tires replaced constantly, transmission replaced, timing belt replaced, seat belts replaced, air bags are in recall and need to be replaced, handles replaced, bad paint clippings on outer handles, co2 sensor replaced, headlight switch recalled and replaced, range mod sensor replaced twice, head gasket broken.
The contact owns a 2007 suzuki forenza. While driving approximately 25 mph, the driver noticed smoke inside the vehicle without warning. The vehicle was pulled over and the driver called for assistance. The contact arrived at the scene, opened the hood, turned off the relay switch, and allowed the vehicle to cool down. There was no fire report filed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer (dwayne lane suzuki, 10415 evergreen way, everett, wa, 425-267-9000) where it was diagnosed that the relay switch (which controlled the fan for the heater and the air conditioner) caught fire and needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 75,000. The vin was not provided.
The contact owns a 2007 suzuki forenza. The contact stated that while driving approximately 45 mph, the check engine warning light illuminated and the vehicle decelerated. The vehicle was restarted but the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed that the transmission sensor failed.the vehicle was repaired but the failure recurred on multiple occasions.the vehicle was taken back to the dealer, who diagnosed that the wiring harness needed to be replaced.the vehicle was repaired and the failure persisted.the manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 39,000. The vin was unavailable...updated 12-11/14 .
When you drive car, engine cut power it is happen 34000 mile and still same problem. Inside door handle broke many times. They replace and again they are broke. Seat belt stuck and does not work. Transmission sensor goes out and replace at 54000 mile. Now when start car engine is shaking.
Why isn't any thing being done about this problem with the transmission range sensor!!!!! suzuki needs to acknowledge that this a serious problem. I initially just got on here to file a complaint and started reading there are alot of people with this same issue. Please take some kinda of responsibility for this issue. I have had to fix my transmission range sensor more than once. This week will make the 2nd time in a year! i was driving in a 35 mile zone and my car would not even go the speed limit a car alot rammed me from behind. It slows in the middle of traffic and sometimes wont go backwards. Something needs to be done. It seems clear that there is an active issue with the transmission range sensor in suzuki forenzas.
The contact owns a 2007 suzuki forenza. The contact stated that while driving at 65 mph, the contact heard a noise as the vehicle stalled. Upon further inspection, the contact noticed that the engine had fractured. In addition, the contact stated that the vehicle previously jerked. The engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was towed to a mechanic. The mechanic diagnosed that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. However, the engine warning light remained illuminated. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 58,000.
The contact owns a 2007 suzuki forenza. The contact stated that while traveling approximately 15 mph, the contact noticed a burning odor. Upon inspection, it was found that there were flames emitting from the engine compartment which then spread to the rest of the vehicle. The fire department was called to the scene. The vehicle was destroyed. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 130,000.
The contact owns a 2007 suzuki forenza. The contact stated that the vehicle stalled several times without warning. The contact was able to restart the vehicle but the failure was progressing. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 86,000.
I was on the highway when out of no where my car jerked and slowed speed. I almost got rear ended. I then tried to accelerate and it drug. Instead of catching back up to speed it took a minute to reach the speed of what was posted. And since then its been very hard to drive. I took it to shop they said i need a new transmission range sensor. They also said this is a very common issue with suzuki forenza. But its very dangerous i do feel that this should qualify for a recall. For a reference the suzuki dealer sales the transmission range sensor for $38.99 and the mechanic charged $25.00 labor.
The contact owns a 2007 suzuki forenza. The contact stated that smoke appeared from the engine compartment. The vehicle was merged to the side of the road to be inspected. However, the contact was not able to determine where the failure was located. The contact made several attempts to contact the local dealer but was not able to get a response to get the vehicle inspected. Also, the contact recently received a notification for nhtsa campaign number: 14v262000 (exterior lighting). The manufacturer was contacted. The vehicle was not repaired. The vin was not available. The approximate failure mileage was 110,000.
The contact owns a 2007 suzuki forenza wagon.the contact stated that the vehicle has a serious hesitation issue.while driving between 30-50 mph, the vehicle hesitates and decelerates.it does not lose complete power and the service engine light remains illuminated.the contact has taken the vehicle to the dealer five times and they replaced the wiring harness, accelerator, a few sensors, and reprogrammed the computer in the vehicle.the repairs only temporarily correct the issue for a few weeks, but then the failure recurs a month later.the contact is also experiencing failure with the passenger side air bag.the air bag remains off whenever an occupant is seated in the passenger seat.the dealer stated that it was supposed to remain off for a child's safety, but the owner claims that the failure occurs when adults are seated in the passenger seat as well.the dealer has not attempted to repair the air bag defect because they clam it is working as it was designed.the air bag defect has been occurring since the vehicle was purchased with approximately 30 miles.the failure mileage for the hesitation issue was 3,000 and current mileage was 12,000.
I have had numerous issues with the range switch in my 2007 suzuki forenza. The first time at approximately 38k miles, and now again at approximately 70k miles. Each time i've had this fixed, it has cost me over $200. Suzuki customer service refuses to acknowledge this as a defect, and continues to take money from their clients who purchased faulty vehicles.
The contact owns a 2007 suzuki forenza.when the ignition was turned on, the air bag warning indicator would illuminate on the instrument panel.the warning indicator remained lit until the engine was turned off.the front and driver side interior door handles failed without warning.the vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer for diagnostic testing, but they could not determine the cause of the failures.the driver and passenger side air bag harness and door handles were replaced under the service warranty.the vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer on a separate occasion for identical failures.in addition, the bolts from the radiator fan were loose and some were missing.currently, the parts for the repair are unavailable and have been ordered.the failure mileage was 12,000 and current mileage was 17,000. Updated 3/25/09 updated 03/25/09.
The contact owns a 2007 suzuki forenza.while driving approximately 65 mph, the contact heard a dripping sound underneath the vehicle.the vehicle was returned to its place of purchase and the dealer also stated that there was an issue with the passenger side air bag .the contact was informed that the sensor was working properly and the dripping sound was caused by the condensation from the air conditioner.a few months later, the motor began making a knocking sound.she took the vehicle to a repair shop and they stated that the sound was coming from the top part of her motor.she took the vehicle to the dealer and they kept it for over a month; however, the knocking sound remained.three weeks later, a suzuki specialist replaced the motor.even after the motor was replaced, the knocking sound persisted.the contact was informed that the vehicle was working in the manner it was designed.weeks after the contact retrieved the vehicle, the noise grew louder.the vehicle was returned to the dealer and they stated that they only replaced the top part of the motor.they kept the vehicle and checked the oil level.days after retrieving the vehicle, while traveling and coming to a stop sign, it suddenly stalled and lost all power.the vehicle was taken to her residence and she believes that the vehicle is a lemon and full of manufacturer defects.she cannot afford any more repairs or towing.the failure mileage was 11 and current mileage was 40,000.
I brought a brand new 2007 suzuki forenza in 2007 and since then have had problems ever since. In the first week i brought it the timing belt had broke. Soon after the transmission messed up and was told the engine needed to be rebuilt. Thanks to my extended vehicle warranty (not by suzuki) i was able to get this fixed without paying out of pocket. Now not even two years later i ambeing told that the front strut mount and struts are going bad and need to be replaced (estimated at $687.00). In addition to that all four of my door handles are broken and have been for some time after breaking off with a simple touch. With the paint chipping off on the outside door handles as well. I have no money to pay for all the repairs on this vehicle as i have been paying it on for the last five years and it is almost paid for but i cannot continue to endure countless repairs i am having to go through while driving this car. I do not go anyway except from work to home in my car and i do not understand why i am having all of these problems when the car was suppose to be brand new when i bought it. I am afraid to drive this car even as simple as going to the store because i do not know what will happen. I will never buy another suzuki again.
I had defective plastic door knobs that broke and replaced with the same type door knobby the dealer and charged me labor.replaced strut mountswithin the last 9 months i have replaced:transmission, water pump, the valve cover gasket 4 times, the valve cover, the radiator, the timing belt, the ac compressor, front axles, wheel bearings, lower intake manifold hose, and it is still leaking antifreeze. The car seem to be very hot and the key is very very hot in the ignition. I also need to replace the fuel assembly........i definitely would like to be included in a class action lawsuit or i will do my own.this is not fair to the consumer to pay all this money into keeping this car repaired.i've invested more into this car than what it is worth.please advise.
The problem started on 7/12/09. I had just gotten an oil change at wal-mart in jacksonville, ar, and as soon as i turned on the car the check engine light was on. Wal-mart of course denied any damages, but stated if something was done on their part they would reimburse me for the damages. From there i went to auto zone and was told that the codes were 700 and 705, which referred to the transmission sensor. The very next day the check engine light went off. Long story short, since that time the light has come on several times. Prior to the light coming on, my car would be in drive but would hesitate and feel as if it is in neutral. Also, a line would go across the d (drive) on my dashboard, and all of the other gears would appear to be something different on the dashboard (i.e. P (park) on the gear shift would read r (reverse) on the dashboard. I feel that this should not be happening on a 2007 model car. There are 62, 000 miles on this car, which are mostly highway miles. This is very frustrating and from what i have read on the web, this is a very common problem.
While driving i heard a loud "thunk" sound and then my car went basically into neutral.had a car been right behind me i would have been rear ended.the check engine light went on and the transmission range sensor has to be replaced.the same exact thing happened in september of 2012 and i had it replaced then, only 9 short months ago.when speaking with the parts and service folks at david norman suzuki i was informed that this is a very common problem with this vehicle.had i been on the highway i could have been killed.definitely a safety problem that warrants a recall.
The contact owns a 2007 suzuki forenza. While driving approximately 65 mph when she heard a dripping noise coming from the engine and the air bag light was constantly on.the vehicle was taken back to the dealer who was unable to locate a failure. The failure continued to occur. She also stated that the passenger front door handle came off. The vehicle was purchased in april 2007 by june 2007 and all four door handles came off of the vehicle. The failure mileage was 200 and the current mileage was 73,507.
This is the 2nd time i have had issues with my car in regards to having to get the drive range sensor repaired; alot of suzuki owners have also had this issue as well.
Put my car in r (reverse) on a level driveway and it made a clunking sound as if it were being forced. The dash gave a signal instead of an r for reverse, a square with a line through it. As i put it into d (drive) it dragged to accelerate. The check engine lamp came on and the local mechanic said his computer read transmission range sensor. He said the trs and the catalytic converter need to be changed. The car needs a couple of motor mounts. This will easily cost me over 800.00 including labor. I just finished having the transmission coils and wires replaced ($350.00)having just purchased this vehicle (used) from a private party; my concerns are high regarding safety and costs for repairs.what of a recall concerning the transmission range sensor? please help!!
I purchased a 2007 suzuki forenza in dec 2006 and my transmission range sensor went bad in august of 2007, it went bad again less than a year later in june 2008, again in 2010 and now as of today november 22,2011 i have to put it back in the shop for the transmission range sensor. I really do feel like this should had been a recall considering i am not the only suzuki forenza owner that has had the ongoing issues . I have came out of pocket over $600 so far on getting this problem fix because it was not cover under warranty.
The contact owns a 2007 suzuki forenza. The contact stated that the vehicle began to lose radiator fluid sporadically. The vehicle was inspected by an independent mechanic, who was unable to locate a leak of any sort. No repairs were made to the vehicle and the vehicle continued to lose fluid. Several weeks later while accelerating from a traffic stop at 45 mph, smoke was seen coming from under the hood. In addition, the engine temperature began to increase rapidly. The contact assumed that the failure was caused by a faulty radiator. The vehicle was parked and upon further inspection, the contact discovered that radiator coolant had exploded all over the engine compartment and under the hood area. The vehicle was inspected by a second mechanic, who advised that the engine cooling fans were failing sporadically. In addition, the head gasket was failing. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact also stated that the transmission range sensor would recurring fail. The transmission range sensor had been replaced four times over the course of 5 years. The manufacturer was contacted but offered no assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 53,000.
The contact owns a 2007 suzuki forenza. While driving approximately 35 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning.the contact was able to restart the vehicle approximately fifteen minutes after the failure. The contact was able to secure an appointment with the local dealer for diagnostic testing of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 34,000.
Car was sputtering and hesitating.check engine light came on.we took to mechanic and error p0705 transmission range sensor came up as the problem.suzuki is aware of this ongoing problem and they are clearly ignoring the potential for a serious accident to occur by not recalling and rectifying the issue. Rather they are relying on their consumers to absorb the expense of this repair.my faith in suzuki has definitely been shaken and this definitely will influence my decision to purchase another suzuki or recommend suzuki.it is time that suzuki step up and admit their negligence, rectify the issue, compensate those who have absorbed the cost of this repair, and restore the faith in its consumers.
Suzuki forenza 2007; transmission position sensor.turn on car, shift it to reverse the gear jumps twice instead of once like the motor is about to drop. Occurs often can ruin the motor and the transmission, have to replace the sensor which is 400.00.

The vehicle was not repaired. In addition, the contact also stated that the air condition fan made an abnormal noise. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 100,000.

Head lights stay on running battery down.called suzuki regarding posted, may 2014 for day light running light issues and they haven't decided recall/repairs, that i would receive a letter if recall is issued. Constantly have to have assistance to jump the battery.
I had received a safety recall on a fire hazard with the lightening after i kept smelling plastic burning every time it rained...i then noticed it was because i had the lights on all the time. I have called suzuki to no avail to have a local procured to do recall repair due to the closet approved vendor being 2 hours away in traffic and the length of repair taking most of their day plus return trip. We would have to spend night in a hotel. My mechanic even called them and said they would do the repairs in chantilly, va. And suzuki refused saying it would only take me 20 minutes to drive to wheaton md???????? i am in bristow, va. I asked that they have the vehicle towed and fixed and brought back to me then and they refuse every suggestion. This is by far a huge inconvenience and wear and tear on my vehicle. It is their fire hazard, they should make every effort to provide for a local repair to the fire hazard.
The contact owns a 2007 suzuki forenza. While the vehicle was stationary, the high beam headlights failed to turn on when prompted. There were no warning indicators illuminated. A dealer and the manufacturer were not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 75,000. The vin was not available.
Headlights won't turn off.while driving on the expressway black smoke blew in my face. Electrical wires were on fire. I was able to pull over and get out without getting hit by the fast cars going by. Called 911 the fire department came put out the fire.
Headlamp just stopped working . I changed the relay then the fuse and also the light itself still not working i know there was a eall on the model of the year before, i can only assume that they used those parts for my car..

The car lost power suddenly after stopping for a traffic signal. Check engine light came on. Engine never stopped running but would not go faster than about 20mph. Transmission upshifted and down shifted. Orb error codes where p2110, p2106, and p161b. No other codes where stored. It has happened twice in 6 months. After restarting engine check engine light was not on and the car ran normally.

Passenger door handles broke at the base of the handle.son tried to open the back door (behind driver) and the handle broke off in his hand.the front passenger side door handle has a crack in it from the top to the bottom of the handle.i expect it to break any day.back right passenger lock does not respond to "unlock" button when it is pushed.all others rise, this one stays down.
I just had the driver's interior door handle break at the base.i have already had the passenger front replaced under warranty, passenger rear replace at my cost and now this!
I have had two door latches (inside of vehicle) break off, looks exactly the same after they break, with only a piece left. Makes it hard to exit the vehicle. Both doors on passenger side are affected. Rear door one fell off in early 2008, 2nd one broke off march of 2010.

The items that are faulty on this 2007 suzuki forenza are the paint on the outside door handles, and the inside door latches.i bought this 2007 suzuki forenza car brand new and within one (1) year, i had to replace 2 of my door handle latches inside because they broke off.not long after that, my other two latches broke.in the 1st year, the paint on the door handles began to wear off.when i first had my door repaired, i was told by the suzuki repair shop representative, that the breaking latches was a common complaint with this particular model .

When operating in drive position the vehicle went into neutral with loss of traction, drive power could only be restored by selecting drive position 3. There were several subsequent occurrences of the problem one of which nearly resulted in a rear end collision. A transmission repair shop diagnosed a neutral safety / transmission position switch failure. This appears to be a repeating complaint theme with this vehicle model. The occurrence is unnerving and could result in severe (potentially fatal) consequences.
Suzuki forenza 2007; transmission position sensor.turn on car, shift it to reverse the gear jumps twice instead of once like the motor is about to drop. Occurs often can ruin the motor and the transmission, have to replace the sensor which is 400.00.
The car indicates that it is no longer in drive. Even though on the shifter it says it is still in drive. Also when driving down the road the car will come out of drive. To fix the problem you must pull the car into third gear, wait a few minutes then put it back into drive.
While driving the car shuddered and check engine light comes on. I lost almost all power and needed to step hard on accelerator to make car move, especially from a stopped state. This is the same problem i had with this vehicle about 6 months ago. At that time the car was taken to a local mechanic and the engine code returned a problem with the transmission switch sensor. The sensor was replaced and the problem stopped until this recent issue. If i drive the car for a while the check engine light will eventually go out and the car drives fine. But in a day or two the problem occurs again. I need to get the sensor replaced again but it seems there are numerous reports of this same issue out there. I think this should warrant a recall.
Purchased a 2007 suzuki forenza and problem i am having is having to step on brake pedal quite a bit and hard just so that i could change gear from park to reverse. How to fix when only less than 2 years to pay off. Cannot afford to start on a new car note. Needing help.
It started havin a shift malfunction from 3 to 4 gear and now quite often just revs up instead of going, passenger seat belt often releases on its own, and the passenger airbag is constantly on.
The contact owns a 2007 suzuki forenza. The contact stated that while shifting into reverse, the check engine light illuminated. The vehicle was not further repaired. The failure mileage was 60,000 and the current mileage was 87,000.
Coming home from work, my transmission suddenly shifted into 3rd gear as well as my speedometer started bouncing. During this episode the cruise control began to drop out. A while later, about 2 miles, the engine lost power and i had to pull off the free way and got towed home. I googled mycar situation and found that there have been numerous events as mine. Has suzuki addressed this issue and if so, what is the fix?
The contact owns a 2007 suzuki forenza. The contact stated that while attempting to accelerate, there was an increase in engine rpms, the check engine warning lamp illuminated and the transmission hesitated. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileage was 75,000.
Car loses power during highway driving. Seems to jump to neutral.loss of speed and at the same time the engine will rev and rpm's will increase.this happens mostly on highway, sometimes on streets.this never happens when accelerating from a stop.this happened for weeks without a check engine light indicator on.when the light came on the mechanic said the codes(p0700 and p0705) indicate a transmission sensor issue which is not covered under warranty.mechanic said that there is a technical services bulletin on the issue but not a recall.there are blogs and other complaints on this issue on the internet.i contacted suzuki american headquarters and they claim to have no knowledge of this issue.this a potentially dangerous issue that needs to be addressed.
The contact owns a 2007 suzuki forenza. The contact stated that while driving 40 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle also stalled while the contact was driving in reverse. The contact took the vehicle to a local mechanic. The mechanic replaced the throttle body but the repair did not remedy the stalling issue. The contact called the dealer and explained the failure. The dealer advised the contact that the transmission range switch was defective and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 69,108.
The contact owns a 2007 suzuki forenza. The contact stated while driving 35 mph, the vehicle stopped unexpectedly and the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact also mentioned that the gears shifted on their own. The failure was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 30,000.
The contact owns a 2007 suzuki forenza. The contact stated that the check engine warning light was illuminated on the instrument panel and the vehicle would not accelerate over 20 mph. The failure was recurring and the vehicle had been taken to the dealer numerous times. The dealer replaced the transmission range sensor each time but the failure would recur shortly after the replacement. The transmission range sensor had been replaced a total of six times.the dealer advised that the repairs were performed based on the electronic failure codes provided by the diagnostic machine. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for the most recent failure. The failure mileage was 40,000 and the current mileage was 85,000. ..updated 05/10/13updated 06/11/2013
I have a 2007 suzuki forenza it had about 119000 miles on it at the time of first incident. It wouldn't hardly move forward and or go up hills and has struggled to do so since. The car rolls back on hills when you try to move forward. When driving the car barely wants to move.this needs to be recalled very dangerous.
The contact owns a 2007 suzuki forenza. The contact stated that while in reverse, she noticed a loud clunking noise. The check engine light illuminated and while driving at various speeds, the vehicle would slip into different gears independently. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for diagnosis. The mechanic stated that the transmission range sensor would have to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure recurred three times. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 50,000.
The contact stated that after shifting into gear, the vehicle would lunge forward abnormally with the illumination of the check engine warning lamp. The vehicle was taken to a local mechanic who was unable to diagnose the failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure who did not offer any assistance since the vehicle was no longer under warranty. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 55,000 and the current mileage was 90,000.
The contact stated while driving 60 mph, the check engine warning light illuminated as the vehicle began to surge, shimmy and shake abnormally. The vehicle was taken to a dealer for diagnosis and the contact was informed that the transmission range sensor would need to be replaced. The transmission range sensor had been replaced twice before the most recent diagnosis. The manufacturer had not been notified of the issue. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and the current mileage was 126,000.
Transmission range sensor failure. Dangerous gear change issues.
The contact owns a 2007 suzuki forenza. The contact was driving 25 mph uphill when vehicle failed to accelerate despite the accelerator pedal being depressed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for inspection, where it was advised that the transmission range sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure recurred after the repairs. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 92,000.
Tonight while driving 65mph on a major highway my check engine light came on.i didn't notice anything weird until i exited the highway and came to the first red light.when the light turned green and i pushed the gas, my car took forever to accelerate.this continued until i got home, where i checked the codes: transmission range sensor and transmission control sensor.i am ticked!last october (8 mos ago) i was driving about 35 mph in heavy traffic when my car seemed to fall out of gear and would not accelerate.after 11 days in the shop they found it was the transmission range sensor and replaced it... Now apparently it's broken again???!!!so i got online to look into it and i find this site with tons of complaints about this same problem... I guess no one cares until someone dies, and then maybe they will decide to make it a recall... This is ridiculous.
I was stopped at a red light and started to drive the car when the light turned green but my car did not want to go forward, my car pulled. I had to step on the accelerator with more pressure for it to go forward. I finally got to a safe area and turned the car off. I left it off for about three minutes then proceeded to turn it on and drove off, i notice my check engine light was on at that point, and drove to my mothers home nearby where my brother who is an auto tech scanned my car and the transmission range sensor code came up. Help is there a recall on this?
He contact owns a 2007 suzuki forenza. The contact stated that while driving 25 mph and above, the vehicle would shift gears abnormally hard. The vehicle also would not accelerate over 20 mph when driving. The vehicle was taken to a mechanic shop where it was inspected. The mechanic stated that the transmission wrench sensor was defective. The vehicle was not repaired and the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 158,000.
The contact stated that while driving 55 mph, the check engine warning light illuminated as the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnosis and the contact was informed that the transmission range sensor would need to be replaced. The contact stated that the transmission range sensor had been replaced twice prior to the recent failure. The failure was recurring without a permanent remedy however, the part was replaced a third time. The failure and current mileage was 69,028.
Transmission went out after stopping at a stop light.this is the second time having transmission problems with this car.
2007 suzuki forenza accelerates extremely slowly when hot. Car shudders and will not gain rpms. Often will not accelerate out of stop lights. Engine light flashes during such episodes. Engine light stays on at all times. Will lose speed randomly while in traffic. After time, it will suddenly regain power, resulting in an abrupt lunge if accelerator is depressed. Vehicle code said problem was with the catalytic converter. Replaced cat, but it made no impact on the vehicle's performance. Was advised that the problem could be the shift range sensor. Have not yet repaired as i spent all of my repair money on the cat replacement.
3rd time problem with the transmission range sensor. Why can suzuki get away with not having a recall for this dangerous problem??how many people have to have the exact same problem before something can be done about it?will it take someone being killed?i doubt if even that will help motivate them to do the right thing.
This is the 2nd time i have had issues with my car in regards to having to get the drive range sensor repaired; alot of suzuki owners have also had this issue as well.
Transmission range sensor has went out twice in a six month span.
Tranny slipping, paint peeling on car.
Googled on website, and found lots of people complained that the transmission range sensor is broken prematurely, which clearly indicate the such part is a defective one. My such claim was also supported by what technician told me who fixed my car as they are authorized suzuki service dealership. He told me there is around 4-5 fix for this part out of this model around this mileage. My car is still under powertrain warranty, but this part is excluded from such coverage. Suzuki should recall this part and fix the problem for free of charge.
The contact owns a 2007 suzuki forenza. The contact stated that the transmission would slip or would become stuck in one gear with the check engine warning lamp illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed that the transmission range sensor was defective and needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure who did not offer any assistance since the vehicle was no longer under warranty. The vehicle was repaired. The failure and the current mileage was 39,000.
After being parked for a while the car jerks when i shift to reverse as well as makes some kind of clunking sound. Afterward, when i shift to drive, there is a marked delay prior to acceleration. This also happens whenever i come to a complete stop at traffic lights, stop signs etc. I'm wondering if this is the transmission sensor again which i had to replace in 2011 @ 30k miles because my car would stall while in operation. This transmission sensor issue is way too common in these cars for suzuki to not have issued any kind of statement or provided any restitution yet. I'm dreading having to pay another $200+ for repairs. This is a dangerous defect and they shouldn't wait like gm to deal with it. These vehicles should be recalled.
I have had two transmission range sensors put in my car and now it needs a third one. The last one the mechanic stated something is "burning up the sensor." i also have issues with getting the key out of the ignition. My car now has 102,000 miles and i have had nothing but problems with it from day one. It seems there area lot of transmission range sensor issues that people are having. The problem is this is a recurring issue. Like i said this is my third one. This should be a recall from suzuki and they need to figure out what is causing these sensors to keep going out.
The transmission range sensor malfunctioned at 75,000 miles on my 2007 suzuki forenza. I was looking online and saw that many other people had this same problem. I dont understand why there hasn't been a recall on this. It has trouble driving after i come to a complete stop at redlights or a stop sign. Its really slow taking off. Twice when i switched gears from reverse to drive, it jerked really hard and thats when the check engine light came on saying it was the transmission range sensor malfunction. This is a very dangerous problem. The first time it ever did this was when i was driving in traffic in the middle of rush hour and it wouldn go. I had pulled out into traffic when it was clear to get over to the turn lane and it wouldnt go. It took forever for it to make it across the lanes and i was almost hit in the process. It was just really slow to take off when i started driving. Im currently waiting for a transmission mechanic to call me back to see what can be done. I do believe there should be a recall on this problem since so many others have experienced this same problem.
Trying to shift into gear the car jerks and the display blinks, not indicating what gear the car is in.the only gears that show are d and p. When trying to accelerate the car moves very slowly and doesn't go any faster than 35-40 mph. Diagnostic test show it is the transmission range sensor.i see that this is a common problem in this model vehicle and thinks it should be recalled and fixed at the expense of the dealer not the consumer. This car has only had problems from the beginning and the manufacturer needs to realize this and assume some responsibility for their product.
The contact stated that while traveling various speeds, the vehicle erroneously shifted out of drive. The vehicle was taken to a private mechanic where it was found that the transmission range sensor needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was not contacted about the failure. The failure mileage was 120,000. The vin was unavailable.
Power steering replaced, many tires replaced constantly, transmission replaced, timing belt replaced, seat belts replaced, air bags are in recall and need to be replaced, handles replaced, bad paint clippings on outer handles, co2 sensor replaced, headlight switch recalled and replaced, range mod sensor replaced twice, head gasket broken.
Shifter lock solenoid defect, for no apparent reason i now have to jam a key into the shifter to switch out of 'park' every single time i start my car.
The contact owns a 2007 suzuki forenza.the contact stated that when placing the vehicle in park, it would exhibit an abnormally loud slamming sound.the dealer was contacted and from the description given by the contact, the dealer diagnosed that there could have been a transmission sensor failure.the manufacturer was contacted, but denied any assistance with repairs to the vehicle.the vehicle was not repaired.the failure and current mileage was 58,000.
When shifting my 2007 suzuki forenza into gear from "park" to "reverse", there is a delay, then a "dropping"/"loud knocking" noise, then the car goes into gear. Even though in "reverse", it shows an error on the instrument panel displaying an "x" on the indication of what gear it is. The "x" also appears when in "3rd", "2nd", and "1st" but not in "park" or "drive". After the car is in gear, the vehicle runs "sluggish" and doesn't seem to get past the third gear. Placing the vehicle in "park" and turning of the car and restarting and placing in drive sometimes fixes the problem. Even if the problem is fixed that day, i have never gone longer than 2 days without it happen again. I have been told that is a problem is the "ranger sensor", but i have not replaced them yet.
The contact owns a 2007 suzuki forenza. The contact stated that while in reverse, the vehicle emitted a loud bang and became unresponsive to acceleration attempts. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnosis. The technician stated that the transmission range sensor would have to be replaced.the vehicle was repaired but the failure recurred. The approximate failure mileage was 30,000.
The contact owns a 2007 suzuki forenza. The contact stated that the check engine warning light illuminated while sitting at a traffic stop. In addition, the gear box indicator began flashing various gears and the vehicle would not accelerate.the engine was turned off but the contact was unable to restart the vehicle until several minutes later. The vehicle was driven to the dealer who advised that the transmission range sensor failed.there were no recalls for the failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the problem. The failure mileage was 54,454.
The contact stated that the vehicle would hesitate when accelerating from 30 mph. In addition, the vehicle would exhibit a clunking sound and hesitate when shifting gears. The failure recurred intermittently. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostics where the technicians advised that the transmission range sensor had to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The vin was not available. The approximate failure mileage was 70,000.
I have been reading about these 2007 suzukis. The transmission range sensors is going out on my vehicle also. The mechanic also stated the throttle body was bad. Now i just had 1600.00 worth of work to this vehicle, timing belt changed, new tires, oil changed etc. Suzuki needs to step up to the plate and recall these lemons!! the mechanic stated the throttle body was major but said he wasn't sure if it was covered under powertrain warranty.if suzuki cannot guarantee their cars for less than 100'000 milesthan i'll never buy another suzuki!think i'll paint my canary yellow!!!!!!
I have a 2007 suzuki forenza, shortly after i got it i noticed it would cut off when i turned the a/c on. If i leave the a/c on it jerks and struggles to reach the posted speed limit. Aside from that issue while driving the car doesn't change gears well and rpm shoots way up and the car drags. This is very dangerous and has caused me to almost be involved in multiple accidents. I do not feel safe with my children nor my self driving this car. Something needs to be done about this defect before someone gets hurt. When this occurred i was attempting to turn and car wouldn't accelerate at that point i panicked and realized i had the pedal all the way down and it still would not go. Then all of a sudden it made a big clunk and jerk and slowly pulled off. I was on a busy intersection between two highways. This is very dangerous and does need immediate attention.
Replaced the transmission range sensor 3 months ago and already going out. This will be the 3rd time replacing since i owned the car.
2007 suzuki forenza. Gear shift is sticking. Upon starting car, proceeding to put car in reverse, gear does not move from p. Car has to be turned off, use key to press shift lock, put gear in n, start car, then move to r. Has been happening more frequent. Very annoying. Fearful that it may stick in r or d.
My first exp. With this problem happened as i was backing out of a parking space . I put the car in reverse and it went back, but i put in drive it would not move, so i put in 3rd gear and it move forward slowly until put in drive again and it worked.second time a was driving about 40 mph and all of a sudden the car goes into neutral and i lose power , again i put in 3rd and power catches luckily no one behind me to slam into me.i took it to the dealer and asked if there had been a recall on this problem ,they said no but would check it out for 90 dollars! they could not reproduce the problem and didn't do anything. Third time tonight 1-20-13 im leaving work and the car gets me to the grocery sore alright, but leaving for home it goes from drive to neutral and no poweragain put it 3rd and i get home driving 15 mph .when trying to park it wont go into parki have to put in neutral ,turn key off and hand brake . Turned the car back on to see if it would work right and all i would get was a slash over the p and the d.
When you drive car, engine cut power it is happen 34000 mile and still same problem. Inside door handle broke many times. They replace and again they are broke. Seat belt stuck and does not work. Transmission sensor goes out and replace at 54000 mile. Now when start car engine is shaking.
In august of 2011, when i would put the car into first gear, the engine light would come on and the car would not go out of first gear until i pulled over, shut the car off and started all over again.since then the engine light would stay on for a day and then nothing would be wrong.also, when i put the car into reverse the "r" on the display would have an diagonal line through it and the would only go into first gear again until i shut the car off again. These incidents have happened at least once a week since.i never know when the car will do this and i am afraid that it will do this and not fix itself again and then be stuck in first gear.the deal wants to charge me $200.00 to fix this. I think it should be a recall item.
My wife owns a 2007 suzuki forenza, at around 50k miles, we noticed that when shifting from park, the check engine light comes on and the odometer reads a blinking symbol while a violent jerk occurred.then when accelerating, the car would have a loud low-pitch hum as if we were towing a bus on ice.i had a diagnostic test ran and discovered that my transmission range sensor and my transmission shift solenoid were faulty.me being a mechanic and all, i call around to buy the part, no luck.so i finally call the dealership and guess what they say? only the dealership has the parts and you're going to have to bring it to us and pay a ridiculous price. I refuse to pay someone else to do a job that i know i can do, especially if were talking about a cost that exceeds $500 for a one and a half hour job.i don't understand why these parts are exclusive to dealers especially when the part is obviously poorly crafted by the makers. So many complaints about the same thing. Why hasn't there been a recall already? or at least make the parts available to the public.this is a serious safety hazard, left turns are a gamble, and i can just imagine the wear on the engine itself.at 50 mph the rpm's are at 3000 to 4000 rpm's!please help!
When you put the car in drive,it feels like the front end is going to fall. Then when you go, it doesn't shift into gears correctly. We had the part replaced the first time in 2009. Now its doing it again and they won't cover it under warranty. This seems to be a problem with these cars and should be recalled.
The contact owns a 2007 suzuki forenza.the contact was driving 45 mph when the vehicle began to jerk and the gear shifted into neutral erroneously. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer and was told that the transmission range sensor failed and would need replacing. The contact spoke to the manufacturer because the vehicle was under warranty, but the manufacturer would not include the cost of the repair under the warranty. The failure and the current mileage was 97,000.
Transmission range sensor is horrible this will be the second time time to change this. First time was at 45000.
Brakes would not work at all! transmission will randomly not go anywhere (sometimes it works sometimes it dosent) i had to swerve out of the way into a persons yard so avoid an accident.
The contact owns a 2007 suzuki forenza. While parked, the contact attempted to place the vehicle into reverse but the vehiclestalled. The contact stated that the air bag, check engine and the seat belt warning lights were illuminated after the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for diagnostic testing who advised that the transmission range sensor needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised that the vehicle was not included in any recall. The vehicle was repaired. The approximate failure and the current mileage was 50,000.
The contact owns a 2007 suzuki forenza. The contact stated that while driving 70 mph, the gear independently engaged into neutral. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the technician diagnosed that the transmission range sensor needed to be replaced. The transmission range sensor was replaced however, the failure recurred months later. The manufacturer was notified about the failure. The failure mileage was 70,000 and the current was 80,000.
My daughter (16) was on the highway and the service road when out of no where the car started jerking and slowed speed. She then tried to accelerate and it drug. Instead of catching back up to speed it took a minute to reach the speed. And since then its been very hard to drive. We took it to shop they said i need a new transmission range sensor a brake light switch and an input and output system and a speed sensor. They also said this is a very common issue with suzuki forenza. But its very dangerous i do feel that this should qualify for a recall before someone gets killed.is anyone only listen to these reports at all?[xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).
I have a 2007 forenza and yesterday as i was putting the car into reverse, it made a loud clunking noise. The gear selector display on the dash seemed to go haywire displaying all the letters (d, r, n, etc) with a diagonal line through it. It then went back to normal, then the "check engine" light came on. This morning as i was getting ready to take the car to autozone, it did not make any noise. They hooked up the diagnostic computer and it came up with codes po700 and po705, which varies in wording but seems like it's the transmission range sensor.
The contact owns a 2007 suzuki forenza. The contact stated that while attempting to accelerate, the transmission failed and the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact had to pump the accelerator pedal in order for the vehicle to respond. The vehicle was taken to a mechanic for inspection but the cause of the failure was unknown. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified and advised the contact to take the vehicle to the dealer for repairs.the failure mileage was 55,000.
My transmission range sensor is malfunctioning. Prior to find out that this was actually the issue i internet search numerous complaints that this part is a failing part on my type of car (2007 suzuki forenza) and it has been reported. The dealer advised that because it wasn't on the recall list the part wasn't covered(i bought part from dealer and had different mechanic do the repairs). My frustration is that complaints have been received by suzuki for this issue but it hasn't been placed on the recall list. What merits what goes on a recall list?
The transmission sensor went out on my 2007 forenza at 77000 miles. This also happened to my sisters 2006 forenza at 50000 miles. The warranty says it covers engine and transmission but when we took it to the dealer, they informed us that the transmission sensor is not covered. I have done significant research and this seems to be extremely common among suzuki cars.
The contact owns a 2007 suzuki forenza. The contact stated while driving 65 mph the engine light illuminated and the vehicle became sluggish. The failure recurred numerous times. A year prior to the failure the transmission range sensor was replaced. The vehicle was not repaired for the recent failure. The failure and current mileage was 50,000.
I am the owner of a 2007 suzuki forenza.as i was getting ready to travel across a bridge when the car appear to change gears even though the shift was in drive.i immediately changed the shift to 3rd gear and slowly made my way across the bridge.had the car inspected, i went with the mechanic on test drive and it happened again.they diagnosed the problem to be the manual level position shift sensor.car worked fine until about a month ago, it did the same thing.now i drive very cautiously.
When i was in park i put it in reverse the car didn't recognize the car was in reverse and it had a line across it and check engine light came on.i put the car back in park and then was able to drive it, andthe light went off, but the while driving the car the line will go across the drive and the car will no longer accelerate, which can be dangerous on the highway.i brought it into pepboys they said a transmission code was popped up, but they reset the codes, even though i didn't tell the guy to do that.now the problem occurs but the check engine light doesn't come on.i brought it to a suzuki dealership and they said they think it is a transmission sensor, but the diagnostic check said it was fine, and they said wait until the check engine light comes back on, but the problem now occurs without the check engine light coming on.but i'm scared to drive it on the road because at anytime i could lose power and be injured in a car accident.i had it towed to a local mechanic and hope they can repair it.
Vehicle slips out of drive when accelerating which causes it to lose power during highway driving. Seems to jump to neutral. Loss of speed and at the same time the engine will rev and rpm's will increase. This happens mostly on highway, sometimes on streets. This never happens when accelerating from a stop. This happened for weeks without a check engine light indicator on. Check engine light will only occur when reversing. Mechanic said the issue (p0700 and p0705) indicates a transmission sensor issue which is not covered under warranty. There are hundreds of suzuki message forums and other complaints on this issue on the internet. I contacted suzuki american headquarters and they claim to have no knowledge of this issue. This is a heavily hazardous issue that needs to be addressed before someone, hopefully not myself, dies.
I am the owner of a 2007 suzuki forenza with a recurring transmission range sensor failure. Out of the 7 years i have owned the vehicle, i have had to replace the transmission range sensor every 14 months like clockwork. No other dealer other than an authorized suzuki dealer is able to replace the range sensor. The failure causes the vehicle to abruptly engage into neutral without warning. On several occasions, i have attempted to accelerate from a complete stop and the vehicle would drag or would not accelerate over 10 mph. On one instance, i was rear-ended due to the failure but luckily no one was injured. I believe that suzuki knows there is an issue with the sensor, which is a major problem for an such an important component on the vehicle. This could cost someone their life! please do something or at least have suzuki stop replacing the failure part with a defective part that they know is going to fail within 14 months. The failure mileage was 14,000 and the current mileage was 92,000.
While driving the car on the highway the light for the engine came on and the car died. After being towed it was determined that the head was blown. After replacing the engine the light remains on and now there is a problem with the transmission. There is supposed to be a defect in a sensor for the transmission that keeps these problems happening in this vehicle.
August the 7th the park and drive sign keep getting mixed up on the odometer board....this is on my 2007 suzuki forenza ....i been told its a transmission sensor.
I have a 2007 suzuki forenza within 50,000 miles on it and i have issues with this car from the beginning. I bought it with only 15 miles on it and it has given me problems with the timing belts (i had to change) and with its tire (i had to change) and now with the codes po700 po705 and po304. I see alot of people have this problem and i cannot afford to fix it can someone help me i am a disable woman and get a check once a month i look forward to this car helping me out and now i am really sad i cannot get around! i have had this problem for a while and now its when i had it looked at.
2007 suzuki forenza with a failed transmission range sensor. Not covered under warranty because it is an electronic part although the dealer admitted that it was frequent problem causing a repair bill of about $200 and about an hour and a half to fix.failure of the part results in the transmission being locked in second gear.
My daughter owns a 2007 forenza; she was recently driving down the road and began to notice a hesitation on the vehicle while driving; she then felt an acceleration and a deceleration on the vehicle - as if it wanted to stall and shut off. A few days later she was about to park and felt a sudden jerk and funny sound coming from the engine compartment - she turned off the vehicle and waited for approximately one hour; the vehicle started and she was told to leave it at home. The following day i brought it in to a suzuki dealer for service - i was told that the transmission sensor needed to be replaced - thank god my 19 year old did not get involved in an auto accident to theacceleration of this vehicle. Please have this sensor checked out on all your suzuki forenza's. Oh and give thanks to the fact that my warranty still had 3,000 miles left on it. I am now in doubt of this suzuki - i would feel much more comfortable if suzuki would extend their warranty to 5 years/50,000 miles instead 3 years/36,000 miles. I believe if suzuki believes in their vehicles then they should honor the request.
I own a 2007 forenza in which a few weeks ago i notice it was not shifting out gears right. Then it got worse and would actually stop moving and just rev up. I almost was in an accident because of this luckily the truck had good brakes. I took my car in and the cashier told me what it probably was before they even looked at it and she made a statement that all the forenza are having this problem not to mention the was 14 in the service area. Anyway the shop told me it was my transmission range sensor and it was not covered in my powertrain warranty go figure..so it was 215.00 out of pocket..i feel that if this is a common problem it could eventually claim lives.
2007 suzuki forenza transmission range sensor - needs to be replaced, car has problems going from 0-50 mphs in drive; dealer states that they are the only ones that have the part to fix it and it costs about 200.00 to repair; car barely is over 40,000 miles, can't find part anywhere but dealership and they state they are the only ones who can fix it.
The failure mileage was 200 and the current mileage was 73,507.
My 2007 suzuki forenza has 51,000 miles and it appears the transmission range sensor has failed.i only use my car for normal driving from home to work which is about 20 miles one way and other in-towndrives such as school or groceries.i live in phoenix, az so heat maybe a factor. About twice a week for the last month, when im at a stop the transmission seems to get stuck in second gear with no indication (sometimes check engine light will be on) until i accelerate. Few times i've been close to being in accidents while making left turns.suzuki has told me that the sensor is not under warranty and will cost around $300 to repair.
1. In this car model i was reading and it haves the same problem the transmission range sensor which i bought it and they replace it.2. The failure occurs every day , the consequences are that when i give reverse it makes a weird noise and when i put it to drive it takes forever to speed up.3. I bought the part at suzuki because that was the only place that they had it, and they replace it and after it got replaced another problem came up, the reverse and drive gear sometimes it doesn't click so it wont do anything, ad i was reading online that a lot owners of suzuki have the same problem can you guys help me out on this.
Transmission would sometimes slip what feels like neutral (no power) while in drive.other times transmission would stay in drive and would not down shift autoor manual.frequency is increasing. Cost at dealer is financially prohibitive at this time. Research indicates problem is common to this and prior year manufacture.
The contact owns a 2007 suzuki forenza. The contact stated that when starting the engine, the vehicle would abnormally accelerate. When the transmission was downshifted into 3rd gear, the vehicle would resume normal operation. The failure would occur intermittently. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer were contacted. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileages were approximately 75,000.
Experiencing transmission problems in a 2007 suzuki forenza which was purchased from a dealer as a used vehicle on feb. 1, 2010 with 31,819 miles. Vehicle currently has 51,800 miles and the automatic transmission, when manually attempting to shift from "park" to "drive", experiences a "hard shift" and is "stuck" in a high forward gear, rendering it unsafe to drive.. The vehicle's computer is showing a diagnostic error code of p0705 "transmission range sensor circuit malfunction (prndl input)".
On 4 different occasions when first starting the vehicle and applying the brakes to put into reverse the vehicle moved a few feet backwards. While owner had his foot firmly on the brake pedal. On may 15 2010 i drove to a shopping center i went to pull into a parking space. When the vehicle went forward very fast. There was a lot of damage to my vehicle another vehicle that was parked. When this happen the first 4 times the dealer said they could not find any thing wrong with the vehicle.
My 2007 suzuki forenza will not shift gears properly. If you put the car in reverse and then put it into drive the car will not idle to drive, make a loud ruff sound and the check engine light comes on. After driving it for maybe 15 min and letting it sit for about an hour it goes back to normal. All to do the same thing the very next day or later on that day.not to mention i bought it with only 12,000 miles on it, two and a half years ago and it now only has 42,000 miles now.
2007 suzuki forenza sedan. Bought the car two days ago. Today the check engine light came on and shifting into reverse caused a loud clunk followed by the digital gear indicator being scrambled rather than displaying r. When the car is in drive, it won't shift out of 3rd gear, so much less pickup than normal (which could lead to getting rear ended) and can't go over ~55 mph. The transmission range sensor is the problem. The corresponding error codes pulled were po700 and po705. After doing research online, it seems like this is a very, very common problem with the 2007 model.
The contact owns a 2007 suzuki forenza purchased brand new june 2007. The transmissionimproperly shift gears.the vehicle would display 1st gear or neutral on the indicator panel while in the drive mode. The dealer replaced the transmission range sensor. After the repair the vehicle would not accelerate past 15 mph. As a consequence she was rear-ended by another vehicle.there was minor damage done to the rear of the vehicle.no repairs have been made to date to correct the failure.after the incident thefailure became progressively worse. Also the check engine warning light illuminated on the warning panel.the failure mileage was 44,121 and the current was 47, 870.
The contact owns a 2007 suzuki forenza. The contact stated that while attempting to accelerate from a traffic light, the vehicle failed to accelerate. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed that the transmission was faulty. The vehicle was repaired but the failure recurred. No further information was available. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vin was not available. The failure mileage was 116,000. ..
Transmission range sensor in 07 suzuki forenza went out at 70 mph and almost made a vehicle behind me run into me. The vehicle part costs about 60 dollars plus tax and labor but i have been told it is not covered under the drivetrain warranty.
2007 suzuki forenza -- transmission slips when in drive -- panel shows a "d" with a slash through it.after researching, have found this to be extremely common among the most well-maintained forenzas.unacceptable.
At 36,000 miles, my check engine light came on in my suzuki forenza. It then went off. Soon, my car began to misfire and does not know the difference between reverse and neutral. At times, there is a line through the "d" (drive) on my dashboard (it's an automatic). I have read several other owners with this same problem. At times when traveling down the road, the car will shift itself into neutral.
I had purchased a 2007 suzuki forenza. It had 7 miles on it when i drove it off the lot. At approximately 56,000 miles it started putting itself in neutral gear and intermittently would not allow me to change from reverse to drive. I would have to leave it in neutral, turn the car off then back on in order to put it in drive and even then the car will jerk between gears and has run at 4,000 rpms at 60 mph. It has become a gas guzzler. Now at 82,000 miles i can finally afford to pay the $300 the dealer had told me it would cost to repair this range mode switch that they say was causing the issue. After reading the other complaints regarding the 2006 suzuki forenza, and seeing how similar all these issues are, i am i full agreement that this part should have been and should be in the future, covered under the warranty or should be recalled. If i am driving down the highway with my children in the car with me and the car should automatically change gears to neutral and an accident is caused because of this, there will be lawsuits. I am just hoping that this replacement part that is installed will actually hold out and do what it is made to do.
I have a 2007 suzuki forenza and the check engine light just came on. I took it to auto zone and they put it on the tester and it came up with a trans range sensor.this is a dealer part and the car only has about 75,000 miles on it. From what i can see online is that alot of people have had this issue. I have replaced 3 of the 4 door handles as well.
The contact owns a 2007 suzuki forenza. The contact stated that when driving at any speed, the check engine warning light would illuminate intermittently followed by the vehicle violently jerking and shifting gears. The contact did not inform the dealer or manufacturer of the failure nor was the vehicle repaired. The current mileage was approximately 24,000.
Placed car in reverse, heard a loud clunk, the gear display on the dashboard would not show what gear it was, would stay on 1st gear while driving.took it to the dealer and is the transmission range sensor.
The contact owns a 2007 suzuki forenza. The contact statedthat the check engine light would intermittently illuminate and the transmission would exhibit signs of slippage. The vehicle was inspected by an independent mechanic who advised that the transmission range sensor had failed. The defective sensor would cause the transmission to slip and the vehicle would not accelerate accordingly. The vehicle was not repaired and the vin was not available. The failure mileage was 40,000 and the current mileage was 42,000.
The contact owns a 2007 suzuki forenza. The contact was driving approximately 35 mph when the vehicle slightly jerked and decelerated independently. The contact stated that the failure recurred intermittently when driving at any speed. The contact was able to secure an appointment with the dealer for diagnostic testing. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 33,000.
One of the transmission sensors went out initially about 28000 miles on my 2007 suzuki forenza. The car went into neutral from drive on the interstate doing 60. I was almost rear-ended by a semi-truck because the vehicle slowed down with no notice. This has happened again at just under 60000 miles where i am having the issues with the sensor and not being able to drive the vehicle as it hesitates to go into drive even though it appears to be in drive according to the dash.
The check engine light has been coming on and off for several weeks.had it diagnosed and it is the transmission sensor (not covered by warranty), powertrain -yes not sensor.it only has 41,000 miles and has had regular dealership maintenance.dealer knew exactly what the problem was - said he'd had more than 10 this week with the same problem.can you say recall!!!
Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6)i was running the car in drive and go to take off and it feels as the transmission is slipping, with a heavy club to the car underside and then the check engine light came on and as soon as i tried to go forward it was as if i didn't have power. I try to take the car to be checked out and the light had reset and no code could be read. Then it happen driving at a faster speed the car just acted like it shifted to a lower gear and it revved up and then no power, once i tried to go again. Again, light went out before getting it read. This happened repeatedly over 2 weeks, finally got into auto zone to have it read andthe car coded with a p0705 code, which is the transmission range sensor. After doing research on the problem i noticed that it is very common and the dealership stated that they see 10 a month for the same problem. Sad that no one has seen to recall this part, it's scary and dangerous to have this occur while driving, when it's a $40.00 part we are talking about over my life. Please investigate this more.[xxx]
We have a 2007 suzuki forenza with 54,000 miles on it.today it began to decelerate quickly on a highway almost causing us to get hit.my father is a mechanic and put it on the computer.the codes p0700 and p0705 came up indicating that the transmission range sensor has gone bad.the sensor is not covered under the drive train warranty as it is electrical.this is dangerous.we have a 9-month-old daughter who could of been seriously injured had we of gotten in an accident.
The contact owns a 2007 suzuki forenza.while driving approximately 60 mph on normal road conditions, the vehicle began wobbling excessively.the vehicle would gradually change direction without warning.the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for inspection and the rear struts were determined to be the cause of the failure.the vehicle has not been repaired.the repair cost was estimated at $580.in addition, the transmission failed to shift gears and the gear sensor was replaced.the interior door handles on the front and rear passenger side were also replaced.the failure and current mileages were 56,569.
The contact owns a 2007 suzuki forenza. While driving at relatively low speeds, the gear shaft spring fractured and the contact was unable to shift gears. The contact previously experienced failures with the transmission slipping. The vehicle was maneuvered to a local repair shop while in neutral and was advised by the mechanic that the vehicle was no longer being manufactured due to the failures. The mechanic also advised the contact not to drive on the freeway due to the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was unknown and the current mileage was 36,922.
The contact owns a 2007 suzuki forenza. While attempting to secure the driver's seat belt, the seat belt failed to latch. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 178,000.
I was driving down my street in my 2007 suzuki forenza with 71,510 miles, then on the panel it started flashing (p,n,d with a diagonal line through them) and i took it to autozone and they said it was the transmission...
It started havin a shift malfunction from 3 to 4 gear and now quite often just revs up instead of going, passenger seat belt often releases on its own, and the passenger airbag is constantly on.
The contact owns 2007 suzuki forenza. The contact stated that the driver and passenger side seat belts have malfunctioned on separate occasions due to a faulty buckle assembly. The contact has taken the vehicle to the dealer to have the buckle assembly replaced. The contact noticed that there was a recall regarding the seat belts: front: buckle assembly but due to the vin the vehicle was not a part of the recall. The contact stated that this was a major safety concern since the failure could injure a child. The failure mileage was 32,000.
Headlamp just stopped working . I changed the relay then the fuse and also the light itself still not working i know there was a eall on the model of the year before, i can only assume that they used those parts for my car..
When you drive car, engine cut power it is happen 34000 mile and still same problem. Inside door handle broke many times. They replace and again they are broke. Seat belt stuck and does not work. Transmission sensor goes out and replace at 54000 mile. Now when start car engine is shaking.
The contact owns 2007 suzuki forenza. The contact stated that the driver and passenger's side seat belts malfunctioned on separate occasions due to a faulty buckle assembly. The contact took the vehicle to a dealer where it was advised that the buckle assembly needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and stated that the vehicle was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 07v315000 (seat belts). The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 50,000 and the current mileage was 52,000.
The contact owns a 2007 suzuki forenza. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the seatbelt became unsecured independently. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle was included in and repaired six years ago under nhtsa campaign id number: 07v315000 (seat belts). The manufacturer offered no further assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileage was 122,000.
The contact owns a 2007 suzuki forenza.two months after purchasing the vehicle, the contact received a recall notice for the seat belts.the recall repairs were performed, but afterwards the seat belt would not latch for approximately one month.at 7,000 miles, the vehicle speed control became inoperable.at 22,000 miles, the driver's side passenger door latch cracked at the base.as a result, the contact had to roll down the window and open the door from the rear in order to exit the vehicle.the vehicle began pulling to the left while driving between 40-70 mph.an independent mechanic stated that the tire had a hole in it and would be patched.also, the vehicle needed an alignment and the contact was informed to take it back to the dealer to have the specifications checked when the alignment did not correct the issue.the failure mileage was 7,000 and current mileage was 23,450.
The contact owns a 2007 suzuki forenza.the check engine light illuminated on the instrument panel.the contact took the vehicle to the dealer for repair and two codes were produced from the diagnostic, the pedal position sensor and volt coalition.the second code dealt with the throttle system (throttle actuator system), which has limited power.the vehicle is running on 15% power and is dangerous to drive.the dealer called the tech line and they stated that they were aware of the failure and were working on a repair; however, there is currently no remedy.the failure mileage was 14,870.updated 4/28/09 the consumer stated when she pulled out from the parking lot, the vehicle would not accelerate properly. In addition, there was a problem with the seatbelt. At times it would not click, even after several attempts. Updated 04/30/09.

Brakes would not work at all! transmission will randomly not go anywhere (sometimes it works sometimes it dosent) i had to swerve out of the way into a persons yard so avoid an accident.
The contact owns a 2007 suzuki forenza. The contact stated that as the doors were engaged to open, the driver and passenger side interior door handles fractured from the vehicle. The dealer was informed about the failure and they refused to make repairs. In addition, the contact stated that when applying the brakes, the brake pedal would not fully return to the idle position and the rear brake lights would remain illuminated without the contact applying the brakes. The dealer advised that repairs would be at the contacts expense. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 22,300 and the current mileage was 22,500.
Power steering replaced, many tires replaced constantly, transmission replaced, timing belt replaced, seat belts replaced, air bags are in recall and need to be replaced, handles replaced, bad paint clippings on outer handles, co2 sensor replaced, headlight switch recalled and replaced, range mod sensor replaced twice, head gasket broken.
The contact owns a 2007 suzuki forenza.while driving 60 mph or greater, the vehicle began to vibrate.the road conditions were clear.the dealer was unable to diagnose the cause of failure.the vin and engine size were unknown.the current mileage is 1,100 and failure mileage was 400.

Immediately, someone screamed outside the vehicle and alerted the contact to exit the vehicle quickly. When the contact exited the vehicle, smoke and flames shot out of the steering wheel. An independent mechanic, who happened to be in the area, advised to open the hood so the battery could be disconnected.
Since taking possession of my vehicle (feb. '08)..the dash covers for the radio, clock & shifthave always become extremely hot to touch, including the metal part of the ignition key.whenever the car is driven..other parts of the dash get warm..these listed parts get hotter, this condition is frightening!..sometimes there is an associated electrical type odor! the cd player cannot be used, the cd's get too hot to handle.the dealer has experienced this problem & the manufacturer has also..they both refuse to correct it.
Tranny slipping, paint peeling on car.
I just had the driver's interior door handle break at the base.i have already had the passenger front replaced under warranty, passenger rear replace at my cost and now this!
Three of the four interior door handles have broken off under normal use.to get out the driver and passengers must lower the electric window and open from the outside.dealer says they have never seen this problem before and will not fix it because 30k+ miles.
The passenger side door handle just broke off then a week or two later the passenger side door handle broke off. All under normal use.
Both driver and front passenger door handles have broken off. The driver side broke while still under warranty, but the passenger side broke just after the car hit 36,000 miles.

Transmission range sensor is horrible this will be the second time time to change this. First time was at 45000.
2007 suzuki forenza. Vehicle began pulling to the left while driving on the freeway. Consumer states that the dealer told her that the tires needed air. Then they said the car needed an alignment when putting air in the tires did not correct the problem.the consumer went to another mechanic, however they were unable to perform the alignment and suggested that she take the vehicle back to dealer to have the specifications checked.
I bought a 2007 suzuki forenza on march 1, 2008. On june 9th i experienced pinging noises from the engine area. Dealer told me it was motor mounts. On june 17th it happened again and i was told it was now the strut. To the day 6-25-2008 they still have no idea what it is and i was ultimately forced to purchase a different vehicle. They are also making me pay an upside down balance owed on car that i had for 3 months.

When driving my 2007 suzuki forenza the engine light comes on and i lose all power in movement. If i stop and start driving again i have to push the gas pedal to the floor to get the car moving again, it takes off very slowly and i cannot get the car to go over 25 miles per hr. When i take it in to a mechanic they run tests but say there is no problem found. I believe this is a manufacturer defect. I have read on the web of many others having the same problem. I fill that this is unsafe and would like this investigated if possible.
Transmission range sensor:very common problem.makes the car unsafe to drive and not covered under power train warranty.dealer knew exactly what was wrong, is a very common issue that is $400 just to replace a small electronic component.
Transmission range sensor failure. Dangerous gear change issues.
I bought this car used from ramsey motors and didnt do any homework on the past owners or accidents. Should of checked into that. Cause i was sold a vehical that had the wiring rigged into the fuze box. This was not noticable to the eye .right before i had the accident the headlights flickered thankfully i was alone and only traveling at 30 mph. I was crossing a narrow bridge in jasper arkansas and something caused that wire to loose contact with where it was riggd to. I registered my vehical to get more info on the situation and had to bring it home by trailer. The mechanic was informative to what could of caused the headlights to malfunction. I soon found myself with alot of info i wish id a known before i purched the car now i am due for court with several citations due to unsafe vehical . Sucks
The transmission range sensor has gone out and there are several complaints or owners per the web that this has happened to in reference to the above car.
Car feels like it slips out of gear , sometimes on freeway feels almost like transmission. It is the transmission range sensor and i have almost been rear-ended several times. As you have to pull over and wait a while before starting the car back up this is always in motion north charleston sc , greenville sc and columbia sc the car hasalways been towed, i can send towing information through state farm, who dropped my roadside because of this and one time through travelers insurancecar has been to the truck farm in easley sc twice they can not find a code on it rick hendricks north charleston 3 times express auto in columbia sept 17th 2015 and transmissions on dorchester rd north charleston and a+ also north charleston.
After first purchasing this vehicle, the transmission range sensor failed which resulted in the vehicle jerking then suddenly going into neutral while driving down a local road. The sensor was replaced only to fail again within two years. This part has been replaced several times in the past 7 years and is again failing. The result is always the same, either decreased and unsafe acceleration or suddenly slipping into neutral, including while on a busy freeway.

I was driving down my street in my 2007 suzuki forenza with 71,510 miles, then on the panel it started flashing (p,n,d with a diagonal line through them) and i took it to autozone and they said it was the transmission...
The contact owns a 2007 suzuki forenza. He stated that upon starting and putting the vehicle into reverse, the engine would idle very high and the vehicle engaged into reverse rapidly at speeds of 20 mph. There were no recalls for the failure. He had not taken the vehicle into the dealer as of yet due to the distance.the failure and current mileages were 31,000.
I just bought a 2007 suzuki forenza on march 10th, i drove it from the dealer ship to my home, around 40 miles, drove it at 55 and 45 and 35 all good until the last mile of my journey. I was going a steady 35 and i could tell my car was slowing down without me letting my foot off the gas at all. I let off and reapplied gas and it acted normal for 1/16 of a mile and did it again but when i let off and reapplied it accelerated a little and then slowed down again. I looked at my gages and my tachometer was going from 1500 to 2000 rpms making the car bounce back and forward, and so i let off and reapplied enough times to make it home. I'm lucky there wasn't anyone on the road. And i drove it across a 4 mile long bridge and thank god it didn't happen there! i see that there are alot of complaints ts on this issue and suzuki is claiming it's routine maintenance.. You never can tell when it's going to go out and some people have to replace them every 9 months.. They should make the part good enough to last longer. It's a safety hazzard in alot of people's opinions. Pulling into heavy traffic can be pretty scary when you don't know if your car is going to move 5 feet and then not register your foot on the gas pedal. It's dangerous.
The contact owns a 2007 suzuki forenza. While driving approximately 45 mph on normal road conditions applying pressure to the accelerator pedal, followed by a low power response, the engine warning light illuminated intermittently.an independent mechanic stated that the failure was contributed to the throttle body.the vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer for a second opinion and the technician stated the failure was related to the throttle body and needed to be replaced. The wiring within the throttle body was replaced. The failure continued after the vehicle was repaired. The throttle body has been on back order for quite some time. The vehicle will be repaired when the part becomes available. The contact is aware of the safety riskinvolved. The failure mileage was 57,800 and the current mileage was 60,000.

The contact owns a 2007 suzuki forenza. While driving at speeds of 15 mph and depressing the brake pedal, the vehicle oddly accelerated. The contact was able to stop the acceleration by shifting into neutral gear and applying the emergency brake. The vehicle had not been inspected. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The approximate failure and current mileages were 34200. Updated 05/19/2010. *ljupdated 06/03/10the consumer has since traded the vehicle. Updated 06/09/10

In addition, there was a problem with the seatbelt. At times it would not click, even after several attempts. Updated 04/30/09.
Defects in front windshield.
The power windows actuators continue to "actuate" on their own, sounding as though the car is locking or unlocking several times in a row while driving or parked. The lock itself doesn't move during this commotion. Another issue was when i had pressed the brake, my car made a thunk and revved as though it was in neutral. When i tried to go again, the car took a few minutes to even go above second gear and the check engine light came on and stayed on. Now, my car will sound as though it isn't in gear at speeds of 55-60 mph! this scares me! then the dash gear indicator flashes and can't figure out what gear its in when i'm driving, whether it's back roads or freeways. Very frightening.
