The contact owns a 2006 suzuki forenza.whenever the contact depressed the accelerator pedal, the vehicle would not move; however, the engine would rev loudly.she took the vehicle to the dealer and they stated that the throttle assembly was not allowing any gas to enter the engine, which caused the vehicle not to run at times.the dealer stated that this was a very common issue and no recalls were issued.the contact believes that she should not be responsible for the repair and a recall should be issued.the failure mileage was 40,000 and current mileage was 55,000.updated 05/15/09the consumer stated the air bag light illuminated.updated 05/18/09.

Front passenger airbag seat occupancy sensor is faulty. This code is b1448 sensor/matt fault caused by matt wiring failure. This fault causes the passenger side airbag system to staff off, it also causes the passenger system toread that it does not have an occupant at all times.the main airbag computer reads the system fault and it disables the entire airbag system. No airbag protection at all, and suzuki knows.seams to be a common and known defect in the ocs and seat matt in the passenger seat. Suzuki and its dealers are unmoved by the danger that this brings to all its customers.

Suzuki has never sent me a recall notice: 2016 explanation- they are only going by each state's vehicle owner recorded address. I/ my car have had the same listed address since purchase. Suzuki on nihtsa shows 4 recalls; forenza engine wiring harness is not there. What else is missing?original forenza owner, under 47,000 miles. Repeatedly, warning lites came on with overheat. Oct.2006 engine stalled at 35mph in intersection; with multiple complaints suzuki, aware of ewh failure, fails to do a foenza engine wiring harness recall. I see the same symptom complaints by other forenza owners. Took 3 car stallings before diagnosis made & engine wiring harness replaced. From oct.2006 complained of "old car creaking/ruff suspension" noises/bouncing going over any speed bumps or rolling streets. Suzuki replaced some damaged bushings but noises/bad suspension returned; i continued complaints to the dealer and suzuki, & paid for several wheel allignments. Without informing me, suzuki the dealer mechanic, again checking on my complaint, notes "cracked struts" about 1 month after my 3yr full waranty expired. 2012, i learned of the "old car symptom" suspension damage from a non-suzuki mechanic reviewing the car repair history. There is now a suspension system corrosion faiure recall for 2006 vitaras but not forenzas; same year vitara and forenza problems seem associated issues.2006, suzuki recalls for overheat/fire ignition from headlights/electrical swtichs are 2 of 4 recalls listed with nihtsa. 2007-2015,i complained to suzuki of the same symptoms (multiple failed batteries, electrical burning odors, light shorts...) suzuki describes as high priority for repair of headlight/electrical switch. Me, unaware of recalls, suzuki denied any responsibility!! my a/c air system, radio, and rarely used driver window shorted after episodes of battery failures in 45mph city traffic.

The contact owns a 2006 suzuki forenza.the air bag warning light was illuminated on the instrument control panel. In a situation that warrants the air bags may fail to deploy. She contacted the dealership and was referred to the manufacturer. When she called the manufacturer, she left a voice message but had not received a response.. The current mileage was 51,923. The failure mileage was approximately 51,850.

My airbag light is on is there a recall on airbags?

I have owned this car since 2007. The airbag light on the dash keeps turning on. Every time i take it to the dealer he said that there is no problems with the airbags and that the scanner is not picking up the code. He resets the system and the light goes off and every fee months i have to take it back to do the reset and im paying $55 for each reset at least 3-4 times a year since i got this car. Also the dealer told me that o have to dk these resets because everytime the light turns on it means that the airbags are disabled l and it is a safety issue. So i take it regularly every few months to reset it. This has to be a recall through suzuki because it is a problem.

Airbag light came on in january 2010.my mechanic reset the sensor and checked out the wiring.airbag light came back on after about 1 mouth and has no matter what we do'stayed on--- additional lights come on periodically including the engine light, seatbelt and driving light. What a bunch of garbage.after looking online----there are so many people having the same problems'recall this car for electrical and certainly airbags 'it is a safety issue.this car should be recalled and airbags repaired free of charge.

I started my car and a few seconds later the airbag in the driver seat went off and the airbag hit me. The car was stationary.

Air bag warning light came on and stays on now every time vehicle starts and goes. Searched online and found numerous users across north america having same issue and suzuki motors will not treat it as a recall despite so many users having this issue. Many users reported that they took vehicle to dealers multiple times, paid money, and did not even get the problem fixed. Suzuki vehicles are a joke based on my experience of owning one. The cars are so delicate and fragile. This airbag warning light being on is a very dangerous issue. We don't want to find out that while we are driving on a freeway, the air bags deploy for no reason and causes a crash. Or worst god forbid that it did not deploy in an accident. You should really press on government to force these greedy businesses to treat such safety issues not only free of charge, but by professional mechanics who get the job done right the first time. The internet is full of stories about people taking this car to dealers for this problem multiple times and not getting it fixed after so much time and money wasted. If anything happens, i will not hesitate to sue suzuki corp.

Air bag light continues to be illuminated on dash panel. Took to dealer to fix. Light was out for about two days then reappeared. This is a known problem and suzuki refuses to address issue. Car is out of warranty but is a safety issue.

2006 suzuki forenza wagon issues so far: 63k - check engine light came on and a line through the d on the instrument panel showed up, which acts like the car is in neutral. When trying to accelerate the car has no power. If you pull over, turn the car off and restart it then the car is back to normal. It has done this 4 times now in the past 2 weeks. 60k - a couple of months ago the window washer pump went out and i had to replace it. I did it myself and it still cost me $85.front seatbelt acts like it latches but then comes back out (this problem was recalled). 40k - the air bag light is also lit up on the car.

The contact owns a 2006 suzuki forenza.the passenger side air bag warning indicator intermittently indicated that the air bag was deactivated while a passenger was in the seat.the vehicle was not inspected by the dealer.the failure mileage was 40 and current mileage was 15,000.the consumer stated the dealer inspected the vehicle on 11/20/07 and determined the sensor was infact loose. Updated 12/12/07

The fault conditions of this vehicle cause the air bag mil to illuminate. Diagnosis verified a fault with the passenger oc mat/sensor and was replaced. The same fault conditions repeated with the same diagnosis of a faulty passenger oc mat/sensor and was replaced again. But even though the same part was replaced twice there remains a fault with the air bag system and diagnosis concludes that the same fault remains with the passenger oc mat/sensor. This seems to be a design/engineered and possible a software fault with the air bag system. No resolution has been achieved and concerns remain that the air bag may not deploy properly in the event of a vehicle crash. Please provide a written response to this complaint.

When i was driving on the road my airbag from behind on the driver seat busted and my head hit the steering wheel and i stopped in the middle of the road , not knowing what was going on and my i seen smoke coming from the side of my driver seat, and i seen my air bag had busted on it own.

The check trans/motor light came on in my car .i made an appt. At suzuki. It was on for 6 days. It went off, then the air bag light came on. It stayed on. I mentioned that there were loose wires hanging under my seat when i dropped it off. They said a wire came loose and that i should not put anything under my seat .i say that the wires are so loose that if someone put there feet under the seat, there feet could get caught up in the wires and unhook them. Then my airbags won't work, correct? .ifi get in an accident and they don't work, would that be considered unsafe? the dealer said the wires had to be loose because the seat moves and that nobody could get there feet caught in the wires. Loose wires under a seat that control a safety device.. Sounds unsafe to me..i took it in for the passenger side airbags right after i bought it.. They said wasn't broke and gave me a letter that says the passenger airbag light will come on if the passenger is not seated correctly in the seat.. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. They fixed it this time, too much resistance.

The contact owns a 2006 suzuki forenza. The contact stated that the air bag and engine warning indicators illuminated continuously on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer and an independent mechanic for diagnosis. The repair consisted of applying mechanical tape to the faulty wiring located under the driver's side seat however, the repair did not correct the problem. The failure recurred after the repair. The manufacturer was notified of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 4,000. The vin was unavailable.

I bought a used 2006 forenza sedan and a few days later, the transmission range sensor went out. I just researched and there are several complaints about this issue. Also, the airbag light turned on.suzuki need to own up to this problem and fix it.also the 02 sensor went and needs replacement. What is going on.

The contact owns a 2006 suzuki forenza. The contact stated that the air bag warning light illuminated on the instrumental panel. The vehicle was then inspected by the dealer and they advised that there was a plug under the driver side seat that would not stay connected. The dealer repaired the vehicle by placing duct tape on the plug. After a few days of the tape wearing off, the air bag light illuminated again. In addition, the gear shift indicator on the instrument panel would show a black line through the d for drive and the vehicle would exhibit a clinking noise. The vehicle was not inspected by a dealer nor repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 150. The vin was not available.

The contact owns a 2006 suzuki forenza.while driving approximately 45 mph, another driver made a u-turn and crashed into the front passenger side door of the contact's vehicle.her vehicle turned over several times and the side air bags failed to deploy.the vehicle was previously taken to the dealer because the frontal air bag lights were malfunctioning.the dealer stated that there was no air bag failure at that time.the insurance company declared that the vehicle was destroyed.georgia state carroll county police report number 04-1122-09 was filed.the passenger sustained a broken neck and the driver sustained fractures to the lower back.the manufacturer will be notified.the failure and current mileages were 160,000.

Air bag light has been on since i purchased the car. I have contacted suzuki several times regarding it and they say it is normal. Or i can pay to have it diagnosed. It is a safety issue. Suzuki customer service is horrible. I have signed myself up for a class action law suit.

Suzuki forenza in front end collision with jeep wrangler.forenza suffered front end damage.the airbags in the forenza did not deploy.the drivers side seat belt in the forenza did not lock when i slammed on the brakes, which led to me slamming against the steering wheel.

2006 suzuki forenza airbag light came on 6/2010. Cost $700 to repair driver's side airbag. 11/2010 light came back on, now dealer wants $1000 to repair passenger side airbag. If you go online, there are hundreds of complaints for the same problem. This car should be recalled and airbags repaired free of charge.

On january 15, 2013, i was driving on the expressway. The vehicle in front of me slammed on their brakes unexpectedly to prevent hitting the vehicle in front of her, who had also slammed on their brakes. We were going approximately 55 mph. I was unable to brake in time to prevent hitting the car in front of me. My vehicle was totaled as a result. My airbag did not deploy during this crash. I feel that an impact at that speed should have triggered the airbag. I was diagnosed with whiplash afterwards. I have pictures of the vehicle after the crash and the airbag intact.

Dt: the contact stated the air bags:on and off switchassembly was not working properly. A light would come on when the air bags werenot working. The air bag will turnoff when hitting a bump in the road. The vehicle has been checked at a dealership. The parts to repair the switch were on order. Also contacted the manufacturer. The vehicle is still under warranty.

I bought this car used at 98000 miles in 2011 and since then i have had airbag light staying on every 4-6months or so ( the drive side)...then i would take it in to the dealership and they would replace the censor, etc and reset it.am really frustrated with this, there must be a faulty sensor/part of the airbagwith 2006 suzuki florenza airbag.

I have 44,000 miles on my 2006 suzuki forenza - only 5 years old and the struts are gone!the front end of my car bounces like its on a trampoline!this should not be happening at 5 years old.suzuki needs to make good on their bad struts on this car.i have seen lots of people complaining .. One of them at 21,000 miles.. And this hasn't been recalled?what gives?also, i can't lock my car from the outside anymore.the airbag light is always on saying its not working.this car has lots of problems and i just bought it a year ago and ready to get rid of it and buy something else.definitely not a suzuki ever again.

Air bag light stays on all the time.

Slips out of gear while driving, car stalls and cuts off during driving, only cranks up in neutral, air bag light stays on, check engine light go off after a repair then lights back up. Its frustrating to have to call road side assistance for a battery charge frequently when battery loses charge for no apparent reason.

The contact owns 2006 suzuki forenza. The contact stated that the air bag warning light displayed that the air bag was disconnected. The contact stated that it took three years to correct the engine failure. The contact stated that the failure was caused by the wiring since the air bag light for the driver side remained illuminated. The dealer worked on the vehicle, but they have been unable to find the problem. The failure mileage was 5400 and the current mileage was 23481.

Air bag didn't deploy when i was in a crash.

Front end collision, air bags deployed and started a fire which caught my clothing on fire.

I was driving my car through a gravel street, i hit a man hole and the seal to my airbags broke, the air bags did not come out or deploy fully. I was not involved in an accident nor was anyone hurt or injured or any properly damage done, the front or rear side of my car was not hit nor damaged, this lead me to believe that there must be some sort of defect on the car, i had the dealership look at it and they told me there was no defect, but why didn't my airbags fully deploy or inflate? had i not been wearing my seatbelt, i could have been seriously injured.i did some research online and i found that there was other owners of the same make and model with almost the same issues, dealing with the front and passenger air bags.

Dt*: the contact stated the front passenger side air bag light illuminated.while attempting to start the vehicle the engine failed.when using the air conditioner there was an exhaust smell.the problems occurred intermittently.although the dealership was alerted, no inspections have been made.the manufacturer has not been alerted.

I recently purchased a 2006 suzuki forenza station wagon, on february 25, 2006i had an accident which someone ran into my car and i crashed the car/the air bags did not deploy.i think there is a defect in my brand new car. I think the air bags or at least the one on the driver side should of deployed- that is my complaint.

Air bag on/off light defect.it has been to 3 dealerships and still not fixed.it occurs every time someone sits in the passenger seat.a bottom seat has been replaced anda wiring harness has been replaced.

I have a 2006 suzuki forenza purchased new.since the first month i had it the airbag light has come on over and over.i have brought it to the dealer at least 7 times and they are now telling me they will no longer help me.

I was about to make a left hand turn, my light was green, i proceeded into the intersection, then a car ran their red light, striking my left fender/front, buckled up my car, bumpers locked, had to be pulled apart! in this mva, none of the frontal/airbags deployed!there were 'four' people in my car, including me. All injured, all went to the hospital. And all seeking medical attention. I was shocked!! as well as the person in the other front seat. I hit the steering wheel, with my head...police on the scene, said to sue for air bags not deploying!

I have experienced two front end collisions to a suzuki forenza 2006.during both accidents the air bags did not deploy as designed to.the last accident on 5/5/11 ended in a total loss of the car due to a front end collision.the impact was such that the left front bumper and fender were damaged.this accident also buckled the hood of the vehicle and raised it at least 1.5higher than normal.this will give you some idea of the force of the accident.suzuki was not interested in checking the vehicle out until just recently.i feel that if the air bags did deploy, especially on this last accident i would not have sustained any injury what so ever.

The contact owns a 2006 suzuki forenza.when a passenger is seated in the passenger seat, the air bag light illuminates and remains lit.the vehicle was taken to the dealer, but they could not duplicate the failure.the powertrain was unknown.the current mileage was 9,126 and failure mileage was 20.updated 12/31/07

The contact owns a 2006 suzuki forenza.one year ago, the contact noticed that the air bag sensors were disabled while passengers occupied the vehicle.one month later, while driving approximately 30 mph, the contact was involved in a crash.the air bags failed to deploy.two passengers were injured.an investigator from a loan inspector's office stated that the air bags failed because the vehicle was not traveling at enough speed.the contact took the vehicle to two local mechanics and both of them stated that the air bags should have deployed.the vehicle was destroyed and a police report was filed.the manufacturer was not notified and the air bag module has not been replaced.the current and failure mileages were 10,000.

Dt*: the contact stated that the airbag off indicator light remained illuminated when a passenger was seated in the front passenger seat. The vehicle was inspected by the dealership, who determined that the vehicle was operating the way it was designed to operate.the contact expressed this would be a safety concern in case of an accident where the passenger airbag does not deploy.the passenger must sit upright in order to trigger both sensors for the airbag off indicator light to switch off.the vehicle does not recognize that a passenger is seated in the passenger seat after the vehicle's ignition is turned on, resulting in the continued illumination of the airbag off indicator light. Updated 8/9/2006 -

On feb 3, 2007, i had a automobile accident. The accident resulted in my car being totaled. It had extensive front end damage, and the air bag sensors were exposed, but the airbags never deployed. I wasn't injured bad enough to seek medical attention, but could have been, as a result of the airbags not deploying. My insurance adjuster told me that there was no reason for the bags to not work, because the sensors were exposed, and i had hit many trees with the radiator resting on the motor. My adjuster gave me his name and number for contact if i needed for anyone to contact him.my car is now totaled, and i have no transportation, because the suzuki company will not stand by their products. This is a safety feature, and should have been in working order, as it was a new car.

Dt*:the contact stated while a passenger was in the front passenger seat, the airbag not activated light illuminated intermittently.the vehicle was taken to the dealership who suggested the passenger must sit in the upright position to activate the airbag.the manufacturer also suggested reading the owner's manual where this same information could be found.

The contact owns a 2006 suzuki forenza.when someone is seated in the front passenger seat, the air bag sensor does not work properly.the contact took the vehicle to the dealer and had it repaired.after the repair, the headlight indicator no longer works and the contact is unable to determine when the headlights are illuminated.she also stated that the accelerator pedal has become stiff and she feels that it may place a strain on her leg when driving long distances.the powertrain and failure mileage were unknown.the current mileage was 15,000.

The contact owns a 2006 suzuki forenza. The contact stated that in june 2009 the air bag sensor light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer who repaired the failure by removing the rubber mat from underneath the seat; however, the failure continued to occur. The dealer asked the owner to check the wires underneath the seat, which he did, and found they were wired as designed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer again who stated that they found a hat under the seat, which was removed. The light went off temporarily and then came back on. The owner schedule an appointment to have the vehicle repaired. The failure mileage was 12,415. The current mileage was approximately 21,000.

Dt: the contact stated the air bags:on and off switchassembly was not working properly. A light would come on when the air bags werenot working. The vehicle is still under warranty.

The contact owns a 2006 suzuki forenza. The contact stated that she went to have her vehicle repaired under nhtsa campaign id number: 12v397000 (electrical system: wiring: interior/under dash) and was informed by the dealer that they did not have the proper tools to complete the repairs. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted about the issue. The failure and current mileage was unknown.

Today my wife noticed that the battery indicator and brake indicator lights illuminated on the cluster panel this morning while driving to work, as well as the speedo needle bouncing around when coming to a stop.i picked up the car and drove it to auto zone to see if there were not any obd ii codes stored.i too noticed the brake/battery lights, as well as the speedo needle would jump when i used my turn signals.igot it to auto zone and there were no codes stored.it was after the code scanner was hooked up my real problems began.when putting the car in gear (either d or r) it would slam into gear, the speedo didn't work and to top it all off, the car had no acceleration.i had this issue before, and it turned out it was the transmission range selector.well, that was replaced no less than 10k miles ago.please, someone place this car on the lemon list so i can recoup my losses.when there is next to no acceleration, it can cause an accident because the car can not move fast enough to avoid getting clipped (or worse).

I have a 2006 suzuki forenza. Often when i put the car into gear, it "clunks." then when i am driving down the road, no matter what the speed, the car shifts itself into neutral. I can drive if i put it into 1st, 2nd, or 3rd gear after it shifts into neutral. After several minutes or later in the day i can get the car into drive again, but the problem repeats itself daily.

While in drive car suddenly switches to idle and will not accelerate with the pressing of gas peddle.it was only able to coast. The range selector part is the issue. It cannot function repeatedly since this is a reoccuring event.the only way to drive is in drive 3rd gear with the engine light on. The great concern is that will lead to an accident since the time of it ceasing to function is unpredicatable. From research it is clear that this is a nearly universal problem with suzuki forenzas and as a safety issue it needs to be a part properly replaced under a recall by dealers.

My 2006 suzuki forenza looses acceleration while driving; simply put the gas pedal doesn't work.while driving on the highway at speed, and with out cruise control, i will let up on the accelerator and when the accelerator is pressed in again i have no acceleration.this type of incident has occurred numerous times on the highway; even while attempting to pass a vehicle.this is very concerning because i feel i might be run over by a vehicle behind me if i loose acceleration.the vehicle has a tendency to lunge forward while stopped due to this malfunction of the throttle body.the car is not safe to drive anywhere with the possibility that it will not accelerate properly or lunge forward into a car at a stop light.i have contacted suzuki and they tell me it is not a malfunction and will not honor their 7yr; 70,000 mile warranty.i have had several trips to the mechanic to try to fix the problem; and we have worked our way through everything down to the very expensive throttle body.i went to a dealership and all they did was clear the codes; 10 miles down the road the car started doing the same thing all over again.i would like this fixed before there is a sever accident because i'm driving a defective vehicle.

The contact owns a 2006 suzuki forenza. The contact stated that while driving at 55 mph, the vehicle lost power and stalled. The contact stated it would take five to ten minutes for the vehicle to be restarted. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that the vehicle was not included in the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 141,400.

Dt*: the contact stated shortly after purchasing the vehicle, it would not start.the dealership determined there was a problem with the computer and reprogrammed the computer.the vehicle failed to start a second time and the dealership determined the computer needed to be reprogrammed again.the check engine light illuminated, so the vehicle was towed to another dealership, who determined the problem was again with the computer.the computer was reprogrammed a third time.

The contact owns a 2006 suzuki forenza.the contact stated that his vehicle caught fire.two hours prior to the fire, he took the vehicle to the dealer and they checked the dashboard computer.it was discovered that the computer failed and another one had to be ordered; however, the contact was informed that he could still drive the vehicle.while driving at an unknown speed, the vehicle began to smoke and the wiring harness around the blow motors melted and burned.the fire department arrived and extinguished the fire.he suffered from smoke inhalation.the dealer stated that the vehicle was destroyed because the entire wiring harness was burned, which would cost a lot to repair.the failure mileage was 34,000.updated 03/18/09. *lj

I have a 2006 suzuki forenza, and it also is having all the problems everyone else is talking about. My car has about 47,000 miles. It started with the engine light coming on and off at random times and then my car would barely go when i pressed the gas pedal. I still can push the pedal all the way to the floor and it will go very slow and my car engine sounds soooo loud. Recently i put my car in reverse and then it jerked back and when i put it k into drive it jerked forward and didn't want to go even tho it was in drive, then on the odometer it had a box with a line going through it and a line going across as it was flashing. Sometime i will not have problems with my car and then i will do it for days. How do you fix this? this car is dangerous and should be recalled!! i have 2 toddlers that drive in my car with me everyday and this is very unacceptable!! will be getting a new car as soon as i can.

I own a 2006 suzuki forenza and have had numerous problems with this car.since purchasing new in 2006, i have had the gas gauge, gas tank, radio, center console, front door handles & catalytic converter replaced.the factory tires went bad within a year, and because it is an odd tire size cost over $400 to replace. Currently the check engine light is on stating there is a problem with the catalytic converter which was just replaced about 3 months ago.i left the car overnight at the dealer & got a rental car (which cost $75) and the dealer and suzuki tech support can not figure out why the catalytic converter error continues to show up.the power steering light is also on & i was told that it requires a sensor - not covered by warranty - that will cost over $300.i have had a problem with the engine jerking and slipping gears on acceleration.it would also stick in neutral or not change gears and hesitate to the point of moving very slowly.i was told this was an oxygen sensor which cost me over $300 to replace.i have had this problem once since.the struts - front and back - also need to be replaced which is a $1200 repair because they are leaking.currently both front door handles are broken causing me to have to open the windows to open the doors.i have had them replaced once before under recall, but now it will cost over $200 a piece to replace.i didn't even know there was a light to indicate that the daytime running lights were working until it just appeared one day.the daytime running lights indicator won't stay on - it comes on, then goes back off.i think suzuki needs to make good on these cars because there are so many problems.

Driving down interstate hadsmell coming from the dashlike melting wires. Dash high/low beams stopped working, luckily daytime running worked but not good enough to see well at nightperiodically they will come back on for afewthen cut back off.most often they do notcome back on at all and doesn't stay on long..afraid of fire or if working going out while driving and wrecking with my kids in the car. We purchased this car last year from a used cardealership and it was fixed under the recall or 07 in jan 2008, called dealerships and suzuki and they are telling me even though there is a new recall out for the same thing.. For 2004-2006 forenzas manufactured between the dates of sept 2003 and march 2006that my car that was manufactured 11/2005 doesn't fall under the recall? just need to know what to do since its obviously a manufacturer defect. Or if maybe some information was crossed and hopefully ours can be fixed under the recall .

Takata recall: and, defective fuel propulsion as the car reves up some times when going and shuts off by itself when traveling causing a dangerous situation. 2). Campaign id.# 14 v262000 and 3.)12v397000 . I have tried to contact the company but i keep getting a message that i called out of service time and to leave a message. Only to get a automated message that says the system isn't working.i do realize that there are other issues with this product car, like the takata air bags.

The contact owns a 2006 suzuki forenza. The contact stated that the front drivers side light failed to function. The contact replaced the head lamp but there was an internal electrical shortage. The vehicle was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 12v397000 (electrical system, exterior lighting). The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was not available.

My engine died while driving.my battery (which was replaced 7 months prior) also died. When i tried to get a jump start, the engine would run for a few moments before dying again. I had the vehicle toed to a lot and haven't been able to afford repairs, so i had it scrapped.

Range sensor is defective. This is a known latent failure that is not covered after 36,000 miles. The dealership informed me that the part, although part of the main engine, is a known failure and that the replacement was a $55 part. The main dealership in huntsville has replaced over 1000 range sensors when my car was repaired in october.

I was driving my suzuki forenza when it went from "drive" to basically neutral. I was driving on the interstate and was almost hit from behind because my car stalled. This has happened multiple times since and each time i've been lucky enough not to be hit. This is a seriously dangerous issue because it happens mid drive.

Transmission range sensor failure.

Accelerating up a hill, the check engine light came on solid (not flashing) and the "d" on the dash display where "drive" is signaled was flashing an incomprehensible icon that was not found in the owner's manual (looked like a square with two slashes through it.)the new transmission signal would flash for 10-15 miles or so starting during acceleration.the part that the dealership replaced was a "transmission range switch."

When i first brought the car on 1/30/2006, it started giving me problems, such as not starting up, the engine light on and off all the time. The emergency brake light on constantly. The power windows rolling up and down by themselves. The power locks stop working and then work over and over again. When i'm driving, the car jerks and pulls all the time. (the pulling is coming from the transmission). I am a single mother of two and i feel real bad about getting stuck with a lemon. After i get out of school i take classes at night and my kids go to the daycare on campus when i picked them up after class, got in the car, started it up, and the front two windows rolled down by themselves, and would not roll up and it was snowing and we had to ride all the way home like that. The dealership doesn't care. As far as they are concerned, it is not their problem. It is a messed up world we live in where someone knows that you really need a car and they screw you with a lemon. Until this present day, all these problems described still exist but so do me and my son-3 and my daughter-6 if anybody can help, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

The contact owns a 2006 suzuki forenza.the contact stated that while the vehicle was parked, the instrument panel caught on fire.the contact mentioned that the vehicle sound alarm activated. The fire department arrived and extinguished the fire.there was a fire report filed and no injuries were reported.the fire department determined that the electrical instrument panel failed and caused the fire.the vehicle was destroyed.the manufacturer was notified of the failure.the failure and current mileage was 145,000.

The contact owns a 2006 suzuki forenza. The contact stated that while driving approximately 25 mph, the vehicle stalled with the illumination of the check engine warning light. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnosis where the technician stated that the throttle body actuator would have to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure persisted. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vin was not available. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 90,000.

The contact owns a 2006 suzuki forenza. The contact stated that the low beam, high beam, and day time running lights became inoperable without warning. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the multi-function light switch needed to be replaced. The contact was not notified of nhtsa campaign numbers: 14v262000 (exterior lighting) and 12v397000 (electrical system, exterior lighting). The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was not available.

I replaced my transmission range sensor in october 2013 and 4 months later it won't go in reverse. The car does not want to go back. The sensor goes bad really quick and it keeps you paying money to get it fix. The check engine light stays on and he airbag light. I have replaced it twice in 2012 and 2013. There needs to be a recall for this and don't know why it has not happen before someone get seriously hurt.suzuki please fix this problem.

When trying to shift from park to reverse the vehicle jumped and would not accelerate out of drive. When trying to accelerate forward it took a massive amount of power to go 10 mph. The vehicle will not shift properly and the check engine light will not stay on while the problem is occurring.

I face the heat engine and electrical problems like the other suzuki cars of similar models driving in the highway.

Two years and 29k miles after i drove my brand forenza off the lot i was on the highway at the beginning of a road trip when my sensor first went out. I had to turn around, take it to the dealership an get it replace. Now i am at almost 90k running into the same issue and will have to replace the sensor again at a cost of abou $250. Quite a few highway miles, not alot of city miles not confident in making suzuki a new car choice again.

My dome light went out, then my stereo went out and finally my low beams keep flickering and not working properly.

The contact owns a 2006 suzuki forenza. The contact noticed that the tranmission shifted eratically since purchasing it in january 2008. He first. While driving on approximately 55-60 mph, the vehicle slowed down, sped up, lunged forward and shifted into gear without warning. There was also a roaring noise on the front end of the vehicle, a clicking sound near the dashboard, and every light turned off except the check engine light. The radio and air conditioner intermittently turned off and after five minutes, they both began operating normally. The dealer was unable to duplicate the failure; however, the manufacturer would not authorize the dealer to inspect or repair the vehicle. On one occasion, the windows would not close causing rain to enter inside of the vehicle, 20 minutes later he was able to close the windows; however, the vehicle began to lose power with the motor on and fully functional. The service advisor at the dealership stated that the acceleration pedal sensor could have caused the failure. The manufacturer once again authorized the dealer to disconnect the battery. The current mileage was approximately 23,800 and the failure mileage was approximately 13,000.

Transmission range sensor is failing and caused a loss of power almost causing a major accident. This is a common problem with this model year, and needs to be investigated for a safety recall.

2006 suzuki forenza with trouble cranking. Customer states that his vehicle has trouble starting and feels a big nudge in the rear when changing gears from reverse to drive or drive to reverse.

The contact owns a 2006 suzuki forenza. While the vehicle was parked in the driveway, a fire started on the rear driver side passenger door without warning. The fire consumed the rear seats and extended from the rear to the front floor. The contact was able to exit the vehicle and extinguish the flames. A fire inspection report was not processed by a fire department and the vehicle had not been diagnosed yet to determine the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The contact was waiting on a response to have the vehicle towed to a dealer for diagnostic testing and repair. The failure mileage was not available.

My check engine light came on. I went to auto zone and was told it was the transmission sensor. After some research, we discovered this problem runs rampant on 2006 suzuki forenza models. We took it to the dealership and the manager over parts and service changed the sensor for us. However, the connector it plugs into was broken and he would look for a used one, as buying a new one means buying a whole new engine harness ($800-$900). Anytime i look up my make and model this is all anyone has to say and suzuki will do nothing about it except charge more money to keep trying to fix it.they should be forced to recall all of these vehicles until the problem is resolved.

Transmission range sensor switch malfunctioned. Car would not accelerate while driving down the freeway.

The contact owns a 2006 suzuki forenza. While driving at approximately 25 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. The contact was able to restart the vehicle, which resumed normal operation. The failure recurred several times. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The technician was unable to diagnose the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 86,040.

My transmission range sensor has failed for the third time in as many years.each time i have it repaired by the dealership.this malfunction causes the vehicle to spontaneously throw itself in to neutral or reverse either while driving or when vehicle is at a complete stop.while driving my car suddenly jerked very hard then slowed to an almost complete stop causing the car behind me to slam on its brakes and hit my bumper.i stopped, restarted the engine and then was not able to accelerate past 15mph even with my foot firmly on the gas pedal.like i said before, this is the 3rd time this has failed and i am glad that the person who was behind me stopped quickly and only tapped my bumper. This has also happened at higher speeds and is just an accident waiting to happen.suzuki needs to do a major recall!! i don't understatnd how so many people are having the same problem yet it is not being investigated!

I have had so many problems with this car!!it started out as i was shift into or past reverse.now it shifts on it's own while driving, while pulling into traffic, while at stoplights/stop signs.you will be driving and it will jerk and put itself into park but still go.it's like driving a stick shift without letting off the clutch.this is a very dangerous vehicle to drive.you don't know when it's going to act up.i have my daughter in the car and wait until it's absolutely clear to pull out due to this.tonight (10/13/11) i was driving, hit a bump in the road that i've driven over a million times and simultaneously, my brake light and my battery light came on.i drove to my destination with my lights dimming slowly and pulled into the spot and the car died.i spoke to the local suzuki dealership and asked the service tech is he gets alot of issues with this sensor and he says "the numbers are higher than they should be for this car. "

My car had a fire on 5/29/2014.i drove in low speed 30 mph in tempe city, but i smelled little smoke coming out.i parked the car.the fire started from some cables at the left side column under steering wheel in front of driver's seat. There was no collision.some wires, parts and the plastic cover under the steering wheel have been burnt down. The car was towed to bill luke suzuki in tempe, az at the same date 5/29/2014.the dealer bill luke asked me to report this issue to suzuki.i called suzuki customer service in ca on 5/30/2014.already 2 weeks past,i have not received a response from suzuki.suzuki has not taken any action.now the car is still in bill luke in tempe.would you please help me?i appreciate you very much if you can help.

At speed on interstate highway, the car suddenly fell out of gear, and lost speed rapidly. Dash transmission display showed scrambled gear in place of d. Car continues to experience similar incidents and does not properly change gears; occasionally displays scrambled letter in place of appropriate display (r,n,d, 3, etc.)

Air conditioning unit shut off, car ran erractically and engine light came on. After several minutes, car ran normally and air conditioner came back on.engine light stayed on.since then engine light will go off for several days and come back on for several days.mechanic checked engine and found that the problem was with thethrottle sensor.

Slips out of gear while driving, car stalls and cuts off during driving, only cranks up in neutral, air bag light stays on, check engine light go off after a repair then lights back up. Its frustrating to have to call road side assistance for a battery charge frequently when battery loses charge for no apparent reason.

I was driven when the right side headlight was stopped.

Air conditioner will not maintain forced air after two hours of use on warm or hot days. Must turn off conditioned air for about an hour to let the system rest. This is very annoying while traveling long distances with children in the back seats.

Battery indicator and brake indicator illuminated on the cluster panel.when in drive, the display showing what gear you are in flashes an unrecognizable signal. Some trouble accelerating.

1. 4-26-2006, car repaired, found that the purge valve has an internal failure. R&r purge valve to correct.2. 10-24-2006, car repaired, found code po705 trans range switch, open intermittent. R&rtrans range switch to correct.3. 12-21-2006, car repaired, power steering light on. Found needle angle sensor part -3721-085z00. Suzuki ordered part and still waiting for the part to be placed in car.4. 12-29-2006, car repaired. Complaint was roaring noise and rmp needle going close to 5 and heat index exactly in the middle. The only repair done was r&r right wheel bearing in front and replaced hub. When on 1-10-2007 they called to pick up car all repairs done, i went and they told me that the car is sounding worse and it could possibly be a coupling by the tire and that i need a front wheel alignment and that's why i am having all these problems and that there is nothing wrong or found with the rmp needle going close to 5. I drove the car out and talked to another mechanic plus the owner of speedee's and they all laughed, and said that's not right and i would not go back. In driving the car now it really sounds bad and embarrassing, and sometimes it will not go past the speed i'm on while driving unless i release the brakes and press the gas again. The mechanic states not safety issue.

Not even a full month after purchasing a 2006 suzuki forenza sedan, the car doesn't start after sitting just overnight for the last two weeks that i've owned it. When i called keystone motors in montgomerville, pa, the manager was smug and unprofessional. And even though they are a j.d. Powers associate winner, he said he didn't care about j.d. Powers. They are going to look at the car, but i told them if just one more thing goes wrong, i will be trading for a car that runs.

I purchased a 4 door 2006 suzuki forenza and on the next morning just a day after i purchased my car i put the key in the ignition and the car would not start.i tried again and the car started to shake like it was having a seizure.i let it sit for about 5 minutes before it started.when i told the dealership of what happen i was told it''s a new car and i just had to break-it-in.every morning the car would not start after sitting over night.additionally when i drive i would experience some delays from the transmission, when i accelerate the car would jerk.the last time i had to get the my car towed to the dealership.i was told the problem was a re-programming error.the service department did what was called a pass through re-programming however this did not correct the problem.i took the car in on several occasion because of the same problem. The last incident happened on 9/18/06 and my car is still being tested by the service department at the star suzuki dealership at 1890 dogwood drive in conyers, ga and they are unable to correct the problem..

The headlights stopped working. I've spoke to the dealership and was told it is a known issue but there is no recall and i was 500 miles over the warranty when they stopped working. I do have high beams and have checked the fuses. The dealership service person told me it is a wiring issue under the dash board.

I will be driving and the shift gear will automatically shift into another gear. Or i can start the car and the gear will not go into drive and it will not go forward. I have called about getting this fixed and i was told that alot of complaints has been made for this problem on this type of car, and it is very dangerous...this will cause a automatic accident if not death.

When putting the car in gear in either reverse or drive, there is a loud thunk and jumping feeling. There will also be an 'x' on the instrument panel next to the 'd' for drive on the shift selector.i have researched what the problem could be and it is the the range transmission sensor, it appears after researching this is a very chronic problem in the suzuki forenza.

My check engine light came on. I went to auto zone and was told it was the transmission sensor. After some research, we discovered this problem runs rampant on 2006 suzuki forenza models. For approximately year prior to the incident date indicated on this form, 06/05/2012, my vehicle has malfunctioned sporadically in the way(s) i am about to describe. Since 6/05/2012, the malfunction has occurred and worsened every time i drive.upon the initial gear shift from "park" to "reverse," my suzuki forenza jerks. After the shift, the dashboard displays a "p," despite being in reverse. When i shift to drive, i feel a jerk, and my dashboard displays a multitude of things; at times it remains a "p," and at other times it shows "n" for neutral, "r" for reverse, a simple "d," or a flashing "d" with a diagonal line through it. As i press the gas to accelerate, my rpm's increase, the engine revs, but my car does not move forward for a period of anywhere from 10 seconds to a full minute. The vehicle then jerks and shoots forward very quickly, which is greatly hazardous and alarming. Once my vehicle is in motion on the road, a separate but seemingly related incident occurs at various speeds- i can be on a neighborhood street or the interstate. All of a sudden, it feels as if my car is shifting itself into neutral and is still moving due to momentum. Although i immediately remove my foot from the gas pedal, my rpm's shoot up into the 6/7 range, the engine sounds as if it is going to explode, and the vehicle jerks. At this time, the dashboard displays a number of different shifts, alternating from the flashing "d," to, "p," and so on.i have researched this issue and found that hundreds of other suzuki forenza owners have experienced the same malfunction, due to the transmission sensor. It may be a relatively easy and inexpensive fix, but that doesn't lesson the severity. This vehicle has had 4 other safety recalls thus far, and i am enraged that it is has not been recalled entirely due to this widespread and extremely dangerous malfunction.

The contact owns a 2006 suzuki forenza. While driving 30 mph, the accelerator pedal was depressed and the vehicle failed to respond. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the throttle body sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the failure was intermittent. I purchased a used 2006 suzuki forenza 2006in oct 2012. The first break down was a week after purchase there was a hole in the water pump. I called the dealership and that was replace in december 2012 i was driving to work i was stopped at a red light and there was a shake in the engine it begin to jerk and did not want to accelerate. I took it to aamco where they said it had to do with the transmission switch. They fixed itafter two weeks i was coming off the freeway again at the stop light my car shook and the check engine light went on i took it back and they said it was the same code that had come up the first time. They fixed it again. Then a month later the same thing happen i ended up taking it to a dealership and it was the same thing with a transmission switch. Now the check engine light keeps going off and on everytime i take it in to get looked at the same code pops up with the transmission switch. Now there saying it has to be electrical and it is safe to drive with the check engine light on.

My engine died while driving.my battery (which was replaced 7 months prior) also died. When i tried to get a jump start, the engine would run for a few moments before dying again. I had the vehicle toed to a lot and haven't been able to afford repairs, so i had it scrapped.

I bought my 2006 suzuki forenza brand new.the engine gave out on me in 2009.i replaced the engine once.additional to the engine problems, one day while exiting from a major highway, the car just stopped going about 45 mph and started going about 10 mph, while a noticeable flashing square with a blinking line comes up on the gear indicator, on the dash.i almost caused an accident.i was told it was the transmission range sensor which i've now replaced two times.note: brand new transmission range sensors were placed and still have the same issue.when i put it from park to drive (gear), the motor jerks and feels like the motor's going to fall off.the catalytic converter has also failed to pass inspection.the a/c gave out about 2 years from the time i bought it (brand new car). It's not a reliable car, at all.once i fix something, something else breaks.then the paint on the door handles is chipped off, i've had two door handles break on the interior, now i hear it has electrical problems under the dash.i haven't had this issue but not looking forward to it.it constantly drains my wallet, therefore the car has been sitting in the driveway pending repairs which might not be beneficial to continue making.

January 2011 as i was driving on the highway the car lost all speed and then just stopped. I could not turn it over and once i got it to the shop they said the piston's went through the engine. They replaced the engine later in the month.june 2013 the same thing happened. Piston through the engine completely blown up and now they will not replace it because i am two months past my warranty. For some reason i thought there would be a warranty on the replaced engine. I bought this car brand new in 2006 and followed all the warranty repairs and maintenance .

Vehicle sporadically stalls while driving, not a stop light or sign but while the car is actively being driven and the accelerator is depressed. Most recently it has begun to rev up between 4,000 and 5,000 rpm. When this happens, i put the car in neutral to try to get it back to normal. 2 days ago when this happened it caused me to hit a pot hole hard enough to break my driver side ball joint and lower control arm. I see recalls for other, same year model suzukis that experienced this same issue.i don't think i should have to pay to repair a known mechanical defect. There is also an nhtsa id describing this issue as well. It is extremely scary to have the car reving that high and trying to control it. I am thankful that i only hit a pot hole and not another vehicle or worse.

I face the heat engine and electrical problems like the other suzuki cars of similar models driving in the highway.

I bought a new 2006 suzuki forenza from a dealer on 23 may 2006.after one week with the car, i began having problems in that it does not start after it sits for a while.i called the salesman on 2 jun 06 and told him that for the third time that week,it didn't start.he didn't inform me of any problem with the vehicle and just stated it shouldn't happen and to have it towed in.i went back to the vehicle and it finally started buti have had the same problem starting it every day since.today i called the service department and they informed me that there is a problem with "cold starts" on this vehicle and that there is no fix for it at the present time, and i'll get a recall message in the future when suzuki figures out what's wrong with the vehicle.i believe this problem should have been disclosed by the dealer/salesman before i bought this new vehicle and when i originally called them on 2 jun 06 with a complaint, they shouldhave revealed the problem to me at this time.i feel this car is a lemon and i have no recourse.

I bought my car brand new with just 15 miles on it and had it for 2 weeks and then it started giving me problems with starting.

Transmission range sensor switch malfunctioned. Car would not accelerate while driving down the freeway.

Thank you.

Ahhh yes...the range sensor going out.my car started doing this in october 2010 and i was told that i need a new sensor too.my car jerks when this acts up and when it is gear, you can see the both the "r" and the "d" on the instrument panel.i took my car to midas and the mechanic (that works on my car) take a look at, he showed me where the sensor is (if you're facing the engine it's the little black round looking thing with a handle and yellow stripe on it).he did something to it and it ran fine for a few days and then did the "jerk" and the engine light came on again.i looked under the hood, and pressed down (as to pushing it back into place) and wiggled it a little before this.when i started my car, it ran perfectly and the light went off.i do this every 3-5 days.it seems to me that the sensor is getting loose and needs to have a new fitting.i'm not spending $253.00 until i absolutely need it.they do need to recall this because it's very annoying to have to deal with!!

The contact owns a 2006 suzuki forenza. While driving 65 mph he experienced unintended vehicle acceleration and the vehicle stalled. An authorized technician replaced the timing chain, water pump, timing belt valves , and the cylinder head.the timing chain separated twice after the vehicle was repaired.none of the repairs have corrected the failure. The vehicle identification number was unavailable. The failure and current mileages were 51,000.

Air conditioner will not maintain forced air after two hours of use on warm or hot days. Must turn off conditioned air for about an hour to let the system rest. This is very annoying while traveling long distances with children in the back seats.

I brought a 2006 suzuki forenza on july 11, 2006. In two or three days i noticed something wrong in the way it was driving. I took it back and the general manager drove the car and stated nothing was wrong. The next day the car would not start. I took it to the dealer they stated it was a software problem and it needed new spark plugs. The car wouldn't start again. I was told it needed an upgraded software. The car doesn't start it sounds as if it wants to cut off and it drives rough and stalls. This car is brand new and montgomery keystone motors were fully aware of this and still decided to sale me a lemon. I have contacted an attorney regarding this.

2006 suzuki forenza with safety issues regarding loss control and sticking and engine stalling**cc the consumer stated the gears would stick and she has experienced several steering component failures. To this date the steering problem still had not been addressed. One month after purchasing the vehicle, it would not start, the consumer had to wait 2 minutes before trying again. The consumer could not get the vehicle to go into reverse. There was a knocking noise coming from the vehicle, the dealer stated they lubricated the sway bar bushings.the noise eventually returned. The dealer then stated that they over-lubricated the sway bar bushings.

The contact owns a 2006 suzuki forenza.the contact stated that the check engine light constantly illuminates.she also noticed a gaseous odor inside the passenger compartment.the mechanic stated that the oxygen sensor on the driver side was the cause of the failure.the vehicle has not yet been repaired.the powertrain was unknown.the current and failure mileages were 26,548.

The contact stated that her check engine light would illuminate on an intermittent basis. The vehicle was taken to a dealer who advised her that they were unable to diagnose the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 71,000. The vin was unavailable.

Rough idling problems / no start problems after owning new 2006 suzuki forenza three days. First time happened at gas station. Took four attempts to get car running . Happened intermittently. Took car to dealership. Replaced spark plug and installed new computer. Same problems occurred two days later. Have had newer problems occur. Car on four occasions has almost died while driving, warning lights coming on when they shouldn't. I contacted manufacturer about the rough idle/no start problem. Am in process with them now to try to get a refund. Problem is thought to be with software glitch downloading improper fuel data into cars computer. Rep from manufacturer said software downloaded usage of summer fuel rather than winter which is why i have had the problem with intermittent rough idle , no start, car trying to die while driving. It is my understanding there is a fix for automatics but not for manuals like mine. Although rough idle and no start problems are more of an annoyance , the car trying to die is more of a concern whichi feel is a safety issue.

Steering wheel malfunction - loss of vehicle control and drove off the roadmanufacturer and car dealership did not help multiple other defects, including engine stalling/gears "sticking" -please refer details in letter to be sent to your office by mail.

Three weeks after i purchased my forenza the check engine light came on, so i took it in to the dealership & was told it is a known problem with the forenza .the problem had to do with the '02 sensor' and currently there is no fix for the problem. At that time they reset the code problem. Each time the problem recurred i went back to the dealership and they caused the light to turn off. On august 25 the promised fixed was installed and a few days later the check engine light turned on again and i returned to the dealership and was told that the correction has not worked and i would be contacted when one was available. As of october 25, 2006, the check engine light is still on and i have not been contacted by no one, even though i have called, written and emailed to everyone connected to the dealership.

Dt*:the contact stated on three separate occasions, the vehicle would not start in the morning without the accelerator pedal being pressed.the dealership was unable to determine the problem but believed it may have been a software problem that was aggravated by the climateupdated 6/16/2006 - the dealer took the car back ndgave the consumer full credit towards another vehicle.

The contact owns a 2006 suzuki forenza.the contact stated that in order to turn the vehicle on, the contact would have to shift the vehicle into neutral. After the vehicle was started, the check engine light would illuminate.the manufacturer was notified of the failure but denied any assistance with the repair.the vehicle was repaired.the failure mileage was 44,000 and the current mileage was 54,000.

I have a 2006 suzuki forenza and have issues with the transmission range sensor and the airbag light staying on.i have looked online and there are several complaints about the same issues.whenever the car is put in reverse or i have to go down the gears to drive, the car jerks and then drives very slowly.it is as though i am driving a stick-shift and not letting off of the clutch.the whole car jerks when this happens.i do not and have not had the money to fix this problem.the dealership told me it would $350.00 plus labor to fix this part alone.on top that they said my serpentine belt needs changed which would be an additional $190.i believe this car needs recalled or atleast suzuki needs pay the majority of the costs for the part being replaced.

Within the first three days of purchase, started to have trouble starting the car in the mornings. Took the thing back.they have had the thing almost two weeks now. They cannot tell me anything about the problem.all they have said to me is " you have a rental" .

5 weeks into the purchase of my 2006 suzuki forenza it made a loud noise similar to a bad exhaust. Then it started to stall while i was stopped. It would stall during the first 10-15 minutes of driving then would be fine. On the third time in service they decided to keep the vehicle, for 2 weeks. So far the stalling has not occurred but the noise has come back.

2006 suzuki forenza with engine light problems.ordered and replaced gas cap from mfr.engine light has been an issue since august 2007,it goes on and off.the dealer has serviced the o2 sensor, transmission sensor, and now says the catalytic converter needs replacement. The problem wasn't fixed the 3 to 4 times prior to warranty expiration, but today it is not covered.the vehicle has stalled twice on the highway.

The vehicle is under a recall campaign (xa-xc) for drl module/ignition switch replacement.the owner is physically unable to get the vehicle to the nearest dealership for the repairs to be performed (he is prohibited by his physician to drive such long distances).suzuki will not allow any other facility, no matter how well qualified, to perform the repairs.suzuki offers no solution - like offering to tow the vehicle - aside from an offer to reimburse for fuel.i am a neighbor and can attest to the owner's physical limitations (he had a stroke).he is also elderly and from another country - so his comprehension of the issue is limited.he's worried the car isn't reliable enough for his daily trips to his doctor and voiced worry about his options to get it fixed.it is my hope the intervention of someone from the nhtsa might sway suzuki to offer a variance from their policy - so they would offer to transport the vehicle to and from the nearest dealership for the repairs to be completed (since i was told a dealer must be the ones performing the repair).

The contact owns a 2006 suzuki forenza. The contact stated that while driving and trying to turn the low and high beams on and then noticed that they failed to turn on. Electrical/exterior lighting: just prior to 10/10/2009, i began noticing my lights were periodically flickering. On oct. 10, 2009, i noticed what smelled like wires burning (electrical burning smell). The following evening i started my car and when i turned on the lights, they didn't come on, however my running lights did come on when i released my break (5 speed), i was also without the use of my hi-beams, however they work when i pull back on my turn signal/hi-beam handle. After doing a little investigation, i found that there was once a recall for this problem, however when i called suzuki, i was of course told that my car was not part of that recall!how nice! the dealer informed me that it would cost not less then $150 to fix! i bought the car brand new in 2006, it is now just over 3 years old!i have never been notified of any recalls, just happened to hear about the door handle recall because i had another issue and had to contact a dealer (not the one i purchased the car from, either) as i have not had the best customer experience with them.my mechanic tried to inquire as to how to obtain the wiring detail for this car so that he could fix the problem, thus saving me a good deal of money...$150!i am a single parent and would hope that a car that is only 3 years old would not have the difficulties this car has had in such a short period of time.for the most part, i have enjoyed the car, but the fact that suzuki is refusing to take responsibility for the faulty manufacturing of this car or at least the exterior lighting is so disheartening to me.this is certainly a road hazard not to mention the safety issue for myself, my children and any passenger i may have.

Slips out of gear while driving, car stalls and cuts off during driving, only cranks up in neutral, air bag light stays on, check engine light go off after a repair then lights back up. Its frustrating to have to call road side assistance for a battery charge frequently when battery loses charge for no apparent reason.

Continuous blow out of fuel pump gas , i am replaced the fuel pump gas and the problem still, the car just stop in any placeand not started again.

I bought my car brand new with just 15 miles on it and had it for 2 weeks and then it started giving me problems with starting.

Dt*: the contact stated the vehicle had a problem with the fuel pump. The first vehicle was exchanged at the dealer for another vehicle of the same year, make and model after six weeks due to replacement fuel pumps not repairing the problem. The replacement vehicle has also been taken to the dealer for the same problem with the fuel pump.

The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vin was not available. The approximate failure mileage was 145,000.

The vehicle was stationary each time this occurred (3 times at stop lights, and yesterday, 4/27/16, in a parking lot). When i come to a stop (with foot on brake), the car starts to accelerate hard trying to go forward. Each time i put both feet on brake, and it still couldn't stop it, so i jerked it into park, then turned off key. Each time that kept me from crashing. It was scary because i have children in the car. Suzuki dealership in winston-salem didn't seem to know what it was, but said i could tow it in to get it looked at (cost $$$). Then i called suzuki dealer in raleigh nc and they said to bring it in for $110 for them to just look at it. It only happens randomly, so i don't trust that they will be able to figure it out. Please see the following weblink that described others having the same problem, but no solution (even after they took it to be worked on at suzuki place). Http://www.carcomplaints.com/suzuki/forenza/2008/engine/vehicle_speed_control.shtmlthanks.

I purchased my 2006 forenza on june 15, 2006. I had a no start problem at first but the was corrected. In march of this year, my headlight and high beams completely failed. I took it to a suzuki dealer and had the wiring harness replaced, costing me $118.00 because my warranty had expired and there was no recall issued for that particular failure. Although theservice manager stated that it was a known problem. Now my car, like many other 2006 forenzas, has a failure with a transmission sensor. I called the dealership, and was told again that it has a common and well known problem, and i do still have a powertrain warranty, but as the sensor is on the transmission and not in the transmission it is not covered under warranty and i will have to pay $235.00 to have it replaced. I am livid right now! i was on the highway when the sensor told my transmission that it was in neutral and went from 65 to 70 miles per hour to 40 mph. Why doesn't it surprise me that suzuki refuses to issue a recall on this? oh, that's right, because it only has to do with the safety of it's consumers. Can someone, please educate suzuki on what the word "safety" means?

2006 suzuki forenza which i bought in february 2008.the interior handle on the passenger and driver side broke off within 4 months of each other a year after i had the vehicle.normal use of handles (trying to exit vehicle). Never experienced anything like that.after reading through your complaints, i see others have the same problem.i went to dealer who had no information about a recall.he informed me of the cost of $120+ to repair the two plus the cost of the handles.

The inside door handles on the 2006 suzuki forenza are made ofcheap plastic and defective. The passenger side broke off and then the one on the back door broke off. I took my car into a dealer for the seat belt recall and was never advise at that time they could replace the handles if i was still within my mileage for my warranty which at the time i was. Another suzuki owner had the same issue so we called the dealer and was advised yes we're aware of that problem but can only replace them for free if you vehicle is still under warranty!! if not there is a $50.00 labor charge per door plus the handle cost. Suzuki hasn't listed this issue as a recall. Upon doing more research i found a website with numerous complaints in reference to the plastic door handles breaking off. Now on the 2007 suzuki forenza they use chrome handles.. Hmmm wonder why? i feel cheated, if suzuki is aware that this could cause someone harm in the event of an accident and the consumer has to roll down there window to open the door couldn't that be a potential law suit? i'm in hopes someone of authority can look into this and have this listed as a recall, it is unfair to all who own a 2006 forenza tohave to pay for a mistake they made trying to cut cost on the assembly line.

The contact owns a 2006 suzuki forenza. While the contact was attempting to exit her vehicle the inside door handle broke and landed in her hand. The same failure has also occurred on the passenger side of the vehicle. The dealer stated that the door handles needed to be replaced. There were no prior warnings. The current and failure mileages were 50,000.updated 10/27/09.*ljthe consumer also stated the shift relay was inoperative.the shifter locked up and the consumer was unable to start the vehicle.she was able toplace the key in into the unlock safety lock and push the shifter in an unlocked position, then she was able to start the vehicle. The consumer stated the ignition locks up. Updated 10/29/09

The contact owns a 2006 suzuki forenza. The contact stated that when a passenger in the rear seat tried to exit, the handle broke off and the passenger was injured. Three months later, the front passenger handle broke. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealership for repair.the failure mileage was approximately 70,000. The current mileage was approximately 80,000.

The contact owns a 2006 suzuki forenza. The contact stated there are many defects with the vehicle.the vehicle was taken to the dealer where they stated all the failures are not cover under warranty and she has to pay out of pocket for all the repairs. The defective parts are the front and rear struts, throttle body, door handle and transmission range censor. The manufacturer was not contacted. The dealer informed her they contacted the manufacturer and was told the vehicle was not covered under the warranty and she would have to pay for all repairs.the failure mileage was 56,000.

I have purchased a 2006 suzuki forenza. As a certified crime prevention inspector, i have discovered features of this vehicle that will prove to be a safety concern for any driver/owner of this vehicle. The locks on the vehicle do no operate independently. The driver of the vehicle controls all locking devices on his/her side. An example of this is that the passenger if the vehicle cannot open his/her door if it is locked. The driver has to open the door. In the event that the driver is incapacitated the passenger would have extreme difficulty getting out of the car. Also, when the driver unlocks the door all locks open. In the event that there is someone trying to gain unauthorized entry into the vehicle they will be able to do so without difficulty; putting the driver in extreme danger. There is no way for the rear seated passengers to exit the vehicle without the driver unlocking the door. In the event of a fire a passenger would perhaps literally have to break out a window to exit. This would take time and the passenger or passengers may perish. These are extreme safety concerns which i pray will be investigated!

The contact owns a 2006 suzuki forenza.the contact stated that the inside door handles on the passenger side constantly fail.the vehicle was taken to the dealer three times and they replaced the handles with defective plastic.the handles failed again on august 16, 2008 and the vehicle will be taken to the dealer again.the failure mileage was 3,000 and current mileage was 20,000.updated 09/23/08updated 10/0/108.

The driver owns a 2006 suzuki forenza. While driving approximately 45 mph the vehicle stopped accelerating.it decelerated and would only drive at speeds lower than approximately 20 mph. The service warning lights also began to illuminate on the dashboard. The vehicle was stopped and shifted into park;upon shifting it back into drive the vehicle operated as normal. The failure continued to recur and the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who stated that the transmission switch needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired.approximately one month later, the failure began to recur while driving approximately 45 mph for an extended period of time. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and it was repaired.she also stated that both front door handles were fractured from the interior. The failure was not diagnosed. The failure mileage was 27,000 and the current mileage was 30,000. Updated 02/08/11*ljthe consumer also stated the door handle snapped off the vehicle. Updated 04/21/11

Thank you.

The contact owns a 2006 suzuki forenza.while driving at various speeds, the hood has a tendency to slightly open.the contact has applied pressure to the hood several times, but it would not remain completely shut.he believes the hood latch is defective because it is not connecting properly to the locking mechanism.the dealer and manufacturer have not been notified.the failure and current mileages were 22,000.

The contact owns a 2006 suzuki forenza. The contact stated that after shifting into reverse, a loud and unusual noise was heard from the vehicle. The contact then shifted into drive and depressed the accelerator however, the vehicle proceeded to roll in reverse. The gear selector box then displayed an abnormal symbol of a square with an "x" over the symbol. The dealer was contacted and stated that he had never seen such a symbol.a diagnostic was performed and the contact was advised that there was a transmission failure. There were unknown repairs made to the vehicle however, the failure recurred. The failure was reported to the manufacturer. The failure mileage was 45,426. The current mileage was 67,000. Updated 9/4/13 the consumer stated the drive gears slipped while driving on the freeway. Power was completely lost, but the vehicle did not stall. On june 22,2013, the consumer put the vehicle in reverse and a symbol displayed, when she stepped on the accelerator, there was a click and a jerk.

Yes my cars gears when i drive would go in different gears and i almost got hit. I use this car for taking my kids to school and i love my kids very much. I contacted the dealer ship and they acted like they did not care about this problem and i told them that alot of people have complained.these cars are dangerous and a safety hazard and should not be allowed to be sold or be allowed on the road. And if something happens to people and their families then suzuki and anyone else who allows suzuki to sell these cars should be held responsible if somethinghappens to someone. I will retaliate if something happens to my children. I and all the other people would appreciate if you either stop them from selling these cars or have them recalled. Or make them go to the junk yard. Thank you

When driving, the forenza's transmission will not engage into drive. Recently, reverse has also not wanted to fully engage. Research indicates that this is not an uncommon occurrence with suzuki forenzas nearing 70k miles. The most common part that is malfunctioning is the transmission range sensor.

I thought my vehicle was stalling but the engine was still running and my tachometer was accelerating.it would stop while i was driving and the engine would rev,i tried to move but could not. I drive a busy highwayspeed limit65, i had to pull off the road so i would not get hit by a semi.one day pulling out of my community, accelerating at 45mph the vehicle just stopped in the middle of two lanes, another vehicleswervedto avoid a crash. A police officer pulled over, i explainedthe car just stopped. He saw the symbol flashing on dash, a rectangle withline through it.went home in 3rd or 2nd gear, that symbol is not inmanual.had a diagnosis and only o2 sensor i was having replaced.i receivedrecall notice from suzuki .i was scared to drive the car but had no choice, so drove slow in 3rd or 2nd, when d failed again. I had appointment for recall repairs, while at dealership was asked if i had trouble with the shifter going into gear, i said it had been happening, that i tried to get it checked, it didn't show on diagnostic performed earlier and itwas dangerous.they said i need a transmission range sensor, they could fix it.i wanted to take it elsewhere, to save but i was scared to death to drive it. They saidthey have been seeing this in forenza's. This is dangerous, life threatening issue. There are tsb's issued and have been incidents like mine and nothing has been done.someone is going to cause a huge accident if they have not already, would anyone even know if a car is burned up or completely wrecked?i did contact american suzukito advise them of my problem so they would have it on record.i advised them that before this dangerous situation developed the shifter was getting stuck in park and that i had reported that to the original dealer and was told they could find no problem so nothing was done.

The contact owns a 2006 suzuki forenza. The contact stated that after stopping, the vehicle would hesitate and hinder the contact from shifting into any gear. The vehicle was taken to a dealer who inspected the vehicle and advised that the transmission range sensor failed. The manufacturer was notified who stated there were no recalls for the failure. The vehicle was repaired under warranty.the failure mileage was 62,000.

Battery indicator and brake indicator illuminated on the cluster panel.when in drive, the display showing what gear you are in flashes an unrecognizable signal. Some trouble accelerating.

Driving down residential street vehicle stalled and began to idle high while in the "d" position. Applied brakes and tried to put it in to "p" position but dash read reverse. Turned ignition off and gears shifted as designed. 4 incidents followed this one have not had it repaired.i was putting gas in with the engine off one i got back into the vehicle cranked it and immediately the scrambled symbol appeared i cut the engine back off and tried it again and the scrambled symbol was still visible i shifted down through several gears with clunking noises and heavy jerking until i was able to find drive 3, i was able to move the vehicle at a slow pace to a parking space until i had it towed to my home. Sent it to a mechanic had throttle repaired put the very same day the very same problem occurred while my children and i were on the interstate headed home from their school. Was able to shift to drive 3 and get it off of the roadway.turned off ignition and cranked it up again the vehicle ran normally took it to an autozone so that the check engine code could be read and it came back as p0700 and p0705 have not had the funds to have it looked at by suzuki dealership. With this as an recurring with other vehicles as well as mines something has to be done before someone is greatly injured or killed just stating the obvious. Love the vehicle but afraid to drive it even if the necessary repairs are made i don't want to feel as if im driving my and my kids death mobile.

I purchased a used 2006 suzuki forenza in california. Biggest mistake of my life. I have had nothing but problems since i brought the vehicle. Two weeks after my purchase the engine light came on. I was visiting family in las vegas who helped me find a near by dealer. After the diagnostic they advised me the valve cover was sealed improperly. Now i just got the car 2wks prior so i called the used dealer i brought he car from and let them know what was going on. Not to mention the passenger door handle broke off. I see i am not the only one with door handle complaints. The dealer in las vegas fixed the leaking valve cover and replaced one spark plug as oil leaked into it. This was fixed under the warranty. A month later the vehicle started to stall and then accelerate by itself. The engine light came back on so i took it to a suzuki dealer in van nuys, ca. The service manager advised me after the diagnostic it was the battery. I had the battery replaced and paid a diagnostic fee a total of $275.00. A few months after that the engine light was back on. While on my way to work the car stopped accelerating almost causing a vehicle to hit me. I took it back to the same dealer in van nuys who advised me the throttle was the issue. They replaced the throttle and the same issue is happening. They now claim it's the main engine wiring harness. I called american suzuki to see if the "engine wiring harness" is covered under warranty. The power train does not cover the wiring harness. The dealer is asking for $1600.00 to replace it or $489.00 to repair the wires. I have only had it for 7mos. The dealer also gave a lengthy list of recommended services totaling $2541.00. I declined all recommended services and currently do not have a working vehicle. I believe the issues with this vehicle are pre-existing and the dealer i brought it from knew about it. I plan to return this car.

I was driving home and the car suddenly went into neutral gear luckily i was able to pull over without being hit in the back, this had now happened 3 times since the first incident. I am afraid to drive my car now. Also when it shifts into neutral gear, on the dash where it shows the gears the d sign is all scrambled.

I have a 2006 forenza at 36,000 miles my seat belt light remains on and was fixed once under the recall but now they won't fix it again. Then i find out when i took my car for more tires that they are being eaten up by bad rear struts.the car had at that time 56,000 miles. The struts are expensive and of course dealer parts. And now my transmission is slipping. No way to check or fill it unless you go to the dealer and they charge a fortune to do that and where i live there is only one dealer in a several hundred mile radius so there is a long wait. This car is a piece of [xxx] and i think this needs to be recalled. What can you do as a consumer? this is crazy.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

When shifting out of park dashboard does not recognize gear and loses great amount of power. When driving gears do not shift correctly. Makes a clunking noise. Sometimes when i push the gas pedal very lightly the car jumps forward and other times it doesn't want to move at all.

I have had my transmission range sensor replaced, and my vehicle still lacks power when pressing on accelerator.my veh jerks when driving and slows down. Suzuki must do something about this!

My check engine light will come on and go off every once in a while. It just went back on today. I noticed the acceleration was less when i came off a stop light almost like the car was in the wrong gear. I took it to a parts shop to see what the check engine was. It came up as a transmission range sensor. I have read that other people describing this same exact events happening in suzuki vehicles over 70,000 miles. This could be a real safety risk to the public if the transmission was to confuse itself as being in the wrong gear at high speeds.

I was driving down the road like normal and came up to a stop light. As i was slowing down it downshifted hard and when i tried to accelerate from the stop light it took more gas than normal to pull away. I then noticed that my check engine light was on. I took my car to an auto store the next day to read the codes. It gave the codes po700 and po734. When this happened i had a loss of power and acceleration and was unable to go normal highway speeds. Also when shifting from park to reverse or from neutral to drive it shifts hard and kind of clunks into gear. The next day i tried again and it was shifting just fine, but still had the check engine light. Later that day the same problems from the previous day returned. When the second incident occurred i was trying to make it back home through a heavy snow storm. If this problem had caused me to stop on the side of the road i could have been hit due to the zero visibility. I have seen many complaints about this same problem and trouble codes and i believe something should be done about this.

When changing gear out of park, receive a message on the dash showing it's not reading the gear and losing extreme amount of power. Diagnosis was transmission range sensor. This is the second time this part has gone out. Further investigation has shown this to be a popular problem.

Been having problems with the check engine light being on/of for as long as i have had the car the gearsstarted slipping or staying 3rd, 2nd or r all the time. Took it in to try and have it looked at or check the transmission for fluids since it has a sealed transmission. First thing that came up was - i had no warranty, and prices for them to check to see why the check engine light is on before they can do anything. Now the airbag warning light stays on as well as the check engine light. And the key will not come put of the ignition. Very unsafe. What can a broke unemployed person do?.

Bought a used 2006 suzuki forenza, with about 45000 miles, ran good for 6 months, then all of a sudden i was riding it the car and pulled out into an intersection and the car stalled, and has been stalling ever since, i am scared to drive it anymore, i have not driven it for long distances, in 2 months, i drive it around the block every day, and some days it is fine and others it stalls, i can not trust the car now, but i am still paying on it, i called the dealership and they say it is normal wear, and i will have to get it fixed.

Vehicle purchased new in 2006.under 16,000 miles one owner.hard shifted out of park or reverse.lost power when in drive with normal rpm's~ diagnosed as faulty transmission range sensor by independent repair shop.replacement part also faulty.please note mechanic used term "faulty". Extreme safety issue.i expect suzuki motor company to issue a safety recall with parts that are designed not to fail at such low mileage.

I own a 2006 suzuki forenza wagen with an automatic trans-axle that i bought new from a dealership (expo suzuki) selling suzuki motor cars, in kingwood, texas. Problems started happening to my car while i was in my driveway attempting to shift from park to drive, when i noticed the gear selection indicator window on the dashboard started displaying odd readings other than park or drive or a combination of its range modes(r,d,n,1 and 2) with a slash line going through it, indicating that an error/malfunction is occurring (this started at 75,000 miles or less, on the vehicle's odometer.), i shut off the car and restarted it with no error/malfunctions displayed; good, but the vehicle now drove sluggish; it would not drive beyond 20mph or less. It was taken back to the suzuki dealership by tow-truck where i purchased the car from, and they claimed that no problems were found.instances also involving this same problem with my suzuki forenza wagen came on the highway. The malfunction caused the car to quickly come to a near dangerous stop in heavy houston texas traffic, due to the nss(neutral safety switch) malfunctioning without warning; almost involving me in a near fatal collision going at highway speeds; i happened to look and see the dashboard gear indicator window had that slash mark(s) in it again. I've taken my car back and forth, to my suzuki dealership because of the neutral safety switch problem, with them only replacing the transmission, this time.dealerships in houston texas who sold suzuki motor cars up until recent, will not touch this particular transmission, i've been told to just replace it, if its under suzuki motors warranty? o.k. Fine. This has not remedied my ongoing problems with this car.

I purchased my car brand new in june of 2006. Since then i have had the transmission range sensor replaced four times. This is the part attached to the transmission which controls the speed and gear changing. My car suddenly falls out of gear and refuses to accelaerate at an appropriate speed. It refuses to take off properly. This part has been replacedtwice since jan 2012 and is currently being diagnosed for the same issue. I ahve researched several times and have found this issue to be a concensus amongst many forenza 2006 owners. This vehicle needs to be recalled due to this faulty part. It is unsafe and endangers not only the life of the driver of the vehicle but also others.

The contact owns a 2006 suzuki forenza. The contact stated that the mil warning lamp illuminated and the vehicle could not be shifted into fourth gear. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the technician diagnosed that the transmission range sensor was defective and needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 32,000 and the current mileage was 37,000.

Transmission range sensor is failing and caused a loss of power almost causing a major accident. This is a common problem with this model year, and needs to be investigated for a safety recall.

When i start the car it clunks into reverse and clunks into drive.seems the throttle sensor and the transmission range finder is out.i have been all over the internet and it seems this is a common problem.i want to know why this hasn't been recalled.also replace both of my front struts 6 months ago which obviously is another problem with this car.i still owe on a loan on this car and can't even get to work because of all the problems it has.

The contact owns a 2006 suzuki forenza. The contact stated when the vehicle was shifted into drive an "x" mark appeared over the drive sign. The contact was not sure what the "x" mark indicated. In addition, the vehicle stalled and shook abnormally as the contact shifted into drive.the vehicle was taken to a local mechanic who advised the contact that the gear shift sensor needed to be replaced. The contact did not have the gift shift sensor replaced. The failure mileage was 70,000.

Transmission range sensor is going out.

Funny how after the service warranty went out on the car so did the transmission..took it to the dealership and it cost me to have a switch replaced on the transmission repaired as suzuki stated that it was not under the warranty....exactly 6 weeks later the power steering pump went out on the car i took it to the dealership and was advised that the shaft walked out of the pump...imagine that...my thinking was does it have a mind of its own to just walk out. I started doing research on the forenza and to my surprise i found out that the forenza is not actually a suzuki, it is daewoo with the suzuki name...funny how that was never mentioned when i purchased the vehicle, had i known beforehand that i was purchasing a daewoo i would have never purchased the car. To have the power steering pump replaced it is costing me $1000. As i did further research on the car it seems that the ceo of suzuki is aware that the gm daewoo was such a horrible buy however they are not doing anything to compensate any consumers who purchased the forenza, they have just decided in 2009 theywill no longer make the forenza. I checked the blue book value for the car that i purchased in 2006 and it is worth 2300, meanwhile i still owe 11000 on the car. Inaddition the powersteering pump is on back order, the dealership was not able to offer me a loaner because i am outside of warranty and i have no means of getting back and forth to work. As i look through all of the complaints filed on this website i see that there are many people who was/did have the same problems that i did with the transmission, door handles (which i also replaced myself) and the powertrain. I will be filing a class action lawsuit against suzuki for their failure to advise me beforehand that i was purchasing a daewoo (another piece of '!@#$% car).

The contact owns a 2006 suzuki forenza. The contact stated that while stopped at a stop light, the vehicle would not accelerate. The failure occurred at different speeds intermittently. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for a diagnostic test. The mechanic stated that the transmission range sensor would have to be replaced. The contact also stated that the same part was replaced two years prior to owning the vehicle. The vehicle was repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 25,000.

My 2006 suzuki forenza switched into neutral at 60 mph on a road with no shoulder. I had my three small children in the back seat and was terrified that i would be rear ended injuring and possibly killing them as i had no power to accelerate. I was also unable to get far enough off the road because i was unable to reverse. I had to call my husband help me to get my kids out of the vehicle on the side of a busy and narrow road. This incident was caused by a failure of the trans range sensor which has become and extremely common problem with the suzuki forenza. This part must be recalled as it presents an immediate and ongoing risk to the to the lives of suzuki owners and passengers as well as other drivers. It is unacceptable to have a vehicle repeatedly pose such a risk to the lives of families and for suzuki to refuse to recall the part that is causing the problem.

The contact owns a 2006 suzuki forenza. The contact stated that while accelerating from a four way stop, the vehicle down shifted on its own and then shifted into neutral. The contact had to apply the emergency brake to stop the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for a diagnosis and the contact was informed that the transmission ring sensor would need to be replaced. This was the second time the sensor was needed to be replaced.the vehicle had not been repaired. The vin was unavailable. The failure and current mileages were 98,000.

2006 suzuki forenza has a problem with the transmissionand engine light.consumer wants reimbursement from suzuki.*njthe consumer stated he had his transmission fluid changed and when he started the vehicle the check engine light illuminated and the gear would not go into drive, it would only go into neutral.the mechanic then made some adjustments. However, 2 days later while driving, the gear slipped from drive to neutral and the speed dropped from 60 mph to 20 mph. The service center stated the transmission range select switch shorted out.

The contact owns a 2006 suzuki forenza. The contact stated that when shifting to reverse the vehicle would not respond. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed that the transmission range sensor was defective and needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure and the vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 70,373 and the current mileage was 74,000.

With the forenza when you put it in gear to drive or reserve periodically it will flash a symbol in the gear indicator with a line through it this causes the car to make a loud clunking noise and barely move at all this is a big issue because the car barely moves and it does it randomly i could be driving and it losing its gear and starts to move slowly it can cause an accident with me never knowing when it will happen needs to be fixed read online lots of people are having the same issue with this car and i had a suzuki prior and it did the same thing had the car less than a week and its doing this.

My 06 forenza would not shift into drive and the check engine light would come on then it would get better and the check engine light would turn off. Then i started getting the periodic clunk and scrambled display, usually while in a parking lot or when just starting a trip and driving slow. I finally took it to advance auto and they told me it was the transmission sensor. They sent me to the dealer who made me take the car back home because the check engine light had turned back off and they couldn't read the codes. It's still not fixed because when the check engine light comes on it never at the shop. I have researched online and find that a lot of consumers are having the exact same problem with this car. I think suzuki should do a recall for this problem because it's not a random problem but seems to be a standard problem.

The contact owns a 2006 suzuki forenza. The contact stated that while driving uphill, the vehicle failed to accelerate.the contact noticed there was a hesitation between gears and also an abnormal noise. The vehicle was inspected by an independent mechanic, where unknown repairs were made to the vehicle however, the failure soon recurred. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 32,000.updated 11/15/13the consumer stated the switch assembly was replaced twice. It was advised by a suzuki repair technician to use a plastic cord to hold it together. The switch assembly has not been repaired. Updated 11/26/2013

The contact owns a 2006 suzuki forenza. The contact stated that the transmission warning light illuminated and caused the gears to engage with force. As a result, the engine overheated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who replaced the transmission range sensor however, the failure was not corrected. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vin was not available. The failure mileage was 102,000 and the current mileage was 145,000.

I was driving on the freeway when all of a sudden my car stales.. Thank god i was close to the right shoulder. I just got the car back from the mechanic and spent 500 to fix the timing belt, new battery, valve, oil change.. I took it to them for this problem in the first place and they couldn't figure it out. I called suzuki corporate and they said there is nothing they can do. I explained the huge liability if my call just stops in the freeway.. They offer to hold my hand through the process. Suzuki needs a rude awakening. Recall on the transmission range sensor.. I am not sure if that is the problem because no body at the shop could figure it out. But i see on these forums i am not the only one..

The contact owns a 2006 suzuki forenza. The contact stated that while driving 60 mph, the vehicle suddenly stopped accelerating. The vehicle was shut off and restarted ten hours later. The contact then noticed that there was a hesitation between gears. The dealer was contacted but stated that they could not diagnose the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure and current mileage was 67,000.

On numerous occasions the transmission would slip gears, the vehicle jumps and the check engine light goes on. An independent mechanic told me it was the transmission range sensor that was defective and needed to be replaced. This is a seriously dangerous issue because it happens mid drive. Apparently its my transmission range sensor and it has happened to a lot of people. I have done research on this issue with this particular vehicle and have found that this issue is very wide spread. I feel that no matter how well the maintenance on this vehicle is kept up, this issue is destined to become a problem and a safety issue. Because this sensor glitch causes the vehicle to suddenly switch gears and slowdown without warning or brake lights, there is a high possibility for accidents. I believe there should be a recall for this to be fixed. Suzuki motor corp is grossly negligent for naot making a voluntary recall on this inherently defective part. It is the duty and responsibility of ntsb to compell the manufacturer to issue a recall on these 2006 forenza vehicles.

The contact owns a 2006 suzuki forenza. The contact stated the vehicle surged forward while shifting from drive to park. The contact also stated the check engine light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a privatemechanic who confirmed the failures were possibly caused by the transmission position switch. The manufacturer was contacted, but the vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 68,000 and the current mileage was 71,000.

Transmission range sensor switch malfunctioned. Car would not accelerate while driving down the freeway.

Transmission range sensor. First went down in 2009. Replaced part, now it has gone out again, will have to replace now 9/12/2011. From what is understood, this part will continually have to be need to be replaced. Causes hard shifts and no shifting .

I bought this car brand new in 06.this is he 2nd time i have to replace the transmission range sensor.this is a safety hazzard i believe this part shouldbe on the recall list. Im not satisfied with suzuki cars anymore. Seems as though suzuki dont care about safety or about customer loyalty. I will never ever buy a suzuki again.

The contact stated that while driving approximately 30 mph, the vehicle would no longer accelerate.the check engine warning light illuminated intermittently. The failure recurred sporadically. Additionally, the contact stated that when placing the gear in reverse, the gear shifter would become jammed, causing the vehicle to jerk abnormally. The contact owns a 2006 suzuki forenza. The contact stated that while attempting to shift the vehicle into reverse, there was an abnormal banging noise that emitted from the vehicle and the check engine warning indicator illuminated. The contact mentioned that there would also be an 'x' on the instrument panel next to the 'd' for drive on the shift selector. The contact was an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the range transmission sensor needed to be repaired. The vehicle was repaired, however the failure recurred. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 80,000.

2006 suzuki forenza:while driving on highway at 70 mph, "engine" failed to accelerate when i stepped on the gas.car sounded and felt like it was in neutral when i pressed the gas pedal (engine revved, but didn't go anywhere).panel showing what gear i was in showed an r with and "x" through it even through i was supposed to be in drive.car decelerated quickly to 40mph.i put car into third gear to get the power back.this same problem happened twice while on my way to dealership for repair.drove in third gear for the rest of the way to avoid further engine failure while driving on busy streets.on 3/25/2010 i called suzuki dealership and was told by service representative that my problem sounded like a bad sensor.while at dealership, representative was proved right, car had a bad transmission range sensor.service representative stated that they were fixing a lot of trs in 2006 forenzas.repair not covered by extended powertrain warranty, i paid cost.part was approx $50 and labor was approx $150.

2006 suzuki forenza with trouble cranking. Customer states that his vehicle has trouble starting and feels a big nudge in the rear when changing gears from reverse to drive or drive to reverse.

The check engine light keeps coming on. While driving approximately 30 mph the vehicle stopped accelerating. The vehicle was stopped and shifted into park. Upon shifting it back into drive the vehicle operated as normal. Also, as i move the gear into park, drive or reverse, the car jerks through each gear and drives real slow before picking up the speed that can be very dangerous especially at the intersections with oncoming traffic. Previously, i had taken the car to dealership for same reason who told me to replace the transmission range sensor. Since it was not covered under warranty i spent over $300 to get it replaced. Four months later, engine light came back again and the car has same problems as before. Please help.

A malfunction occurs when i attempt to shift gears from park to any other.1.it makes a loud, deep sound, similar to "thunk-thunk" and if i don't have my foot on the brake hard enough, the car lurches.2.the dashboard signal for pdrn etc randomly changes to a weird symbol that is not any letter in the american alphabet.3.it makes a revving sound which should indicate a higher velocity when in fact it is at a lower velocity.4. It will not accelerate properly.when entering a high frequency road or highway, i have to floor the gas pedal to go normal speed then maintain it.5.it shifts out of drive into neutral while i am driving and independently of my activity, thankfully approximately only about once every month.6.the check engine light is always on.7.the mechanic said it was related to the transmission but was called a range something or other.8.i notice these problems more in stop-and-go city traffic than on long uninterrupted distances.9.i consider these random car behaviour problems unstable and unsafe.10. To any driver new to handling/driving my car, i would have to explain its quirks for them to drive and not have a tragic vehicular accident involving the improper response of my car to normal use.11. The warranty ran out long ago.it was only for three years.the problems started occurring after the warranty expired, of course.12.it will cost me about $200 to get the range whatchamacallit fixed, $200 of which i believe suzuki should pay.unrelated problem, sometimes the seatbelt buckle unclicks itself.

The contact owns a 2006 suzuki forenza. The contact started the ignition and there was an extremely hard shift into reverse. In addition, the transmission would slip gears.

When trying to shift from park to reverse the vehicle jumped and would not accelerate out of drive. When trying to accelerate forward it took a massive amount of power to go 10 mph. The vehicle will not shift properly and the check engine light will not stay on while the problem is occurring.

My 2006 suzuki forenza will shift on its own from drive to neutral while driving causing my car to stall out. When shifting to reverse the car will become unresponsive.

Thank you.

I have a 2006 suzuki forenza.i bought it new, off the lot in york pa from a suzuki dealer.about 3 months after my purchase, the car began bucking and when i took it to the dealer, they could not find anything wrong.over the last 3 years, the car has continued to buck on cold mornings and after sitting for more than 24 hours.the car now has approximately 59,000 miles on it.then, last week, as i was driving, the car suddenly lost power.the engine light came on and the "d" (for drive) began flashing at me but it had a line through it, making it look more like an "8".i had to floor the gas pedal to get the car to accelerate.i immediately took it to a local dealer (not a suzuki dealer).they found that the transmission selector switch was bad.over the past several days, i have read of other peoples' stories, very similar to mine.had this problem happened on the highway, i could have been in a serious or even fatal accident.i am now going to have to put out a great deal of money to get this problem corrected.

Range sensor on my power train seems like it's going out.i have read dozens and dozens of complains for this very part on this very same model and year car and it's not covered under the warranty and i really don't have $200-300 to get it fixed right now.i have a 2 year old who rides in my car and this isn't safe.what it does is when you get up to about 40 miles per hour it will jerk and decelerate down to about 20 miles per hour, this could cause an accident.from what i've read this part really does need to be recalled because lots of people have had this same issue with this car and this part and the warrant doesn't take care of it. I bought a suzuki because i thought it was a good car with a great warranty and i'm finding out that might not have been the case.

2006 suzuki forenza wagon. I have searched the internet only to find that very many other people are having the same problems with the shifting of the automatic transmission just like we are. It is stuck in 2nd gear & very slow to accelerate, revs way to high when reaching posted speeds.both are very dangerous. Why is this not a recall? we feel we are destroying the engine. We bought it last year, used & with no warranty. We feel we have been taken advantage of . The dealer will not help us(dodge dealer). We called a suzuki dealer and they told us this problem is very common but it is an electrical issue which is not under warranty and extremely expensive. What can we do? please help.

2006 suzuki forenza. Vehicle shifts out of gear while driving.the dealer who will be repairing this defect stated that this is a problem on most forenza vehicles.a switch on the outside of the transmission needs replacing and it will cost $186 to replace.he also stated that this happens so often on forenza vehiclesthat he advised everyone to keep their receipt in the event of a company recall.

My 2006 suzuki forenza's transmission is slipping. They tell me it is a sensor and it will be 400 to fix. It also has an issue with the seat belt getting stuck and or not latching, it also is having issue with suspension issues as well as( power train)ex.throttle body, front struts, speedometer, seat belt, door handle something has to be done about this my car has only 80,000 miles on it and it has all these issues. I have researched this issue and i have found numerious others with same problem. Suzuki needs to do somethind about this or recall car.

The contact owns a 2006 suzuki forenza. The contact stated there are many defects with the vehicle.the vehicle was taken to the dealer where they stated all the failures are not cover under warranty and she has to pay out of pocket for all the repairs. While driving 45 mph there was a warning light and the vehicle shifted into neutral gear. The contact drove onto the emergency lane and within a few minutes the vehicle would reset itself. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who stated the transmission sensor needed to be replaced which was not covered under warranty or recall. The manufacturer was not contacted. The vin was unknown.

Three weeks ago i bought my used 2006 suzuki forenza with only 35k miles and in general, it is almost in brand new conditions. Sometimes (when least expected) if you try to shift from park to reverse or drive, the transmission slams instead of applying softly as usual and the check engine light goes on. It started doing the symptom once a week, but now it is making it almost daily.this is a serious safety issue, and as i have seen in various forums, this is a very common complaint, suzuki must issue a recall!!!!

I was driving my suzuki forenza last friday when it went from "drive" to basically neutral.i was driving on the interstate and was almost hit from behind because my car stalled.this has happened multiple times since and each time i've been lucky enough not to be hit.this is a seriously dangerous issue because it happens mid drive.apparently it's my transmission range sensor and it has happened to a lot of people.i cannot drive my car without going very slowly and being fearful.it will still do it each time i accelerate so i have to be mindful to drive on the right side of the road so i can easily pull into a side road or driveway.i'm hoping to get it fixed asap however it's not covered under warranty.

Dt*: the contact stated while traveling 55 mph on the interstate, the transmission suddenly shifted from overdrive to first or second gear without warning.the rpm's on the speedometer increased drastically, and the contact let off the accelerator pedal.after the vehicle was slowed down to 25 mph, the transmission started shifting normally.the vehicle was taken to a service dealer, who determined the main processor had to be reprogrammed.the problem persisted after the processor was reprogrammed.the vehicle had been to the dealer 6 times for the same problem.the manufacturer was contacted and determined that this was not a safety defect, but gave the contact a rental car while the vehicle was being repaired.

2006 suzuki forenza, brake sensor went out and car would not go out of park and into drive.i fixed that and then on december 19, 2009 i was drving down the highway and the car went out of drive and into neutral.i almost wrecked because i couldn't get the car back into drive to keep up with the flow of traffic.in a panic i put the car in 3rd gear and i was able to make it home.the mechanic has had the car for over a week trying to figure out what the problem is.this could have caused a serious accident.

My 2006 suzuki forenza (current mileage : 51798 miles) sedan's transmission is slipping intermittently when driving on the freeways above the speed of 40-50 miles per hour. The check engine light came on and a line through the "d" on the instrument panel showed up, which acts like the car is in neutral. When trying to accelerate by pushing the accelerator pedal, the car engines revs and delivers no power. If you pull over on the curb, turn the car off and restart it then the car is back to normal. I has done this 8-10 times now in the past 2 weeks. The failure continued to recur and i have taken this vehicle to an independent mechanic who stated that the transmission range selector switch which needed to be replaced due the error code "po 705 trans range sensor malfunction" showing up on the diagnostic system.i have read various complaints on the internet forums for posts related to transmission range selector switch on the 2006 suzuki forenza. Through my research on the internet, i have found many people who have complained about this switch going bad in their forenza's in 40 - 60k mileage range and yet suzuki motors do not consider this important enough to recall. This switch is obviously defective and initially it started doing the symptom once a week, but now it is making it almost daily. This is a serious safety issue, and as i have seen in various forums, this is a very common complaint, i very strongly believe that suzuki must issue a recall.

Transmission speed sensor on 2006-2007 suzuki forenza automatic transmission has high failure rate and is dangerous. Car kicks into neutral while moving causing loss of control.

The contact owns a 2006 suzuki forenza. While traveling 45 mph, the contact noticed that the vehicle would no longer accelerate.however after restarting the vehicle, the contact noticed that the failure had corrected itself. Prior to the failure, the vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the shift sensor was replaced twice. The vehicle had not been inspected or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 30,000. The current mileage was approximately 158,000.

Seat belt randomly unbuckles while driving all interior door handles have broken od during he first of ownership transmission slips in and out gear constantly.

The contact owns a 2006 suzuki forenza.the contact was driving 65 mph when the drive indicator flashed on the dashboard as the vehicle stalled.the contact took the vehicle to a local mechanic for diagnostic testing and was advised by the mechanic that the transmission range sensor was faulty.the contact noticed numerous complaints regarding the transmission range sensor for his make and model via the internet.the contact was concerned that the vehicle would stall and cause a crash.the failure mileage was 75,000.

I own a 2006 suzuki forenza.a little overmonth ago, me and my family were driving on the highway, and the car started jerking and slowing down very suddenly.after switching into 3rd gear and then back to drive, the car finally started picking up speed and driving correctly.a few days after that, i drove my daughter to school and when i got back in the car to go home, the car would not drive over 10mph.it kept jerking very hard. I took it to get diagnostics done and found that it is the transmission range sensor.i have done research on this issue with this particular vehicle and have found that this issue isvery wide spread.i feel that no matter how well the maintenance on this vehicle is kept up, this issue is destined to become a problem and a safety issue.because this sensor glitch causes the vehicle to suddenly switch gears and slowdown without warning or brake lights, there is a high possibility for accidents.i believe there should be a recall for this to be fixed.i have not been able to drive my car for over a month because my family has only one income at this time from my husbands job and i cannot afford to have it fixed. I called the manufacturer and got no assistance.i contacted the dealer asking about a goodwill assistance repair and i have gotten no response.

2006suzuki forenza. The check engine light keeps coming on. Also a "line" through the "d". Engines revs on acceleration, but acts as if in idle, then lurches forward.has happened several times intermittently. Online research indicates this problem is widespread.

Dt*:the contact stated while depressing the brake the vehicle felt as if it was grabbing and while depressing the accelerator pedal it felt as if it was jerking.the vehicle was driven to the dealer who determined the computer in the transmission needed to be replaced.

The contact owns a 2006 suzuki forenza. The contact stated that while driving 35, the vehicle would slip out of gear and stall. The vehicle would be pulled over to the side of the road and restarted. Approximately one year ago, the vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where an unknown sensor was replaced. The authorized dealer was notified of the recent occurrences and the contact was advised to bring the vehicle in for a diagnostic test. The contact stated that the vehicle was unsafe to drive. The failure mileage was 95,000.

The contact owns a 2006 suzuki forenza. While driving 40 mph, the vehicle changed gears independently without warning. The failure began on january 9, 2010 and recurred three times within the weekend. The speed sensitive warning light illuminated after the vehicle changed gears. The contact was forced to shift the gears in drive 2 in order to drive forward. The vehicle will no longer shift into drive; however, the vehicle has to be driven in drive 3 to operate normally. The failure mileage was 37000.

The approximate failure mileage was 82,000.

2006 suzuki forenza.

I own a 2006 suzuki forenza sedan. When putting the car into gear, transmission "slams" into gear, instrument panel display scrambles. Sometimes vehicle slips into a higher or lower gear on its own. A week ago, i was passing another vehicle on a two lane highway. While still in the opposite lane, car switched into neutral on its own and i was left in the opposing lane with oncoming traffic coming! i was able to switch to another gear and continued to safely pass the car in front of me, but it was a bit scary. Fortunately, the car i was passing was driving about 40 mph under the speed limit. From what i've read online, there have been several different instances of this issue occurring. It is related to the transmission range sensor. Currently the dealership charges nearly $300 to replace the part, and some say they have similar issues even after the replacement. It is very scary not knowing when your car might decide to switch into neutral or another gear. I hope it never switches to reverse! unfortunately, this issue tends to occur between 40000-60000 miles and is past the initial 36000 mile bumper-to-bumper warranty, and because the sensor is outside the transmission and not "in" the transmission, it is not covered by the 100000 mile powertrain warranty.

The contact owns a 2006 suzuki forenza. While driving at 50 mph, an unknown warning light illuminated and the vehicle was hesitant to accelerate. The dealer advised that transmission indicator would need to be replaced. There were no recalls for the failure. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure and current mileages were 113,000.

1. Check engine light on . 2.car doesn't have power, is sluggish. While driving it seems to slip out of gear, 3. Called dealership about it but no response it my transmission range sensor.

Transmission range selector switch on the 2006 suzuki forenza is failing, and yet they do not consider this important enough to recall. Through searching, i have found many people who have complained about this switch going bad in their forenza's. This switch is obviously defective, and initially would only "act up" about once a month, now it has progressed to once or more a week.

I have a 2006 suzuki forenza with less than 50k miles on it. The transmission range sensor needs to be replaced. It begins when i put the car in reverse.the car will jerk and the rpm's will begin to rev but car wont take off and when it does, it goes very slow for a while. As i move the gear into park, drive or reverse, the car will jerk through each gear. This began happening once or twice a month and now has progressed to at least once a day. This is not safe when going through an intersection because you can take off when there are no cars, but the cars soon come racing through and i'm still not across the intersection yet because the car moves extremely slow when the light is on. My husband is stationed in germany and car repairs are extremely expensive here so we haven't gotten it fixed yet because we don't have that kind of money.

The contact owns a 2006 suzuki forenza.the contact stated that the check engine warning light illuminated.the vehicle was takento a local repair facility where he was informed that the transmission range sensor had failed and would need to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired.the current and failure mileage was 44,900.

The contact owns a 2006 suzuki forenza. The contact stated that when driving at any speed, the vehicle would lunge forward and skip gears. The contact stated that the vehicle would act as if it were in limp mode and the check engine warning light was also illuminated. The contact repaired the vehicle by replacing the transmission range sensor.the dealer was notified of the failure, but the manufacturer was not.the failure mileage was 37,000 and the current mileage was 39,300. The vin was not available.

I own a 2006 suzuki forenza, the car has been nothing but problems, numerous trips back to the expensive dealership for repairs that just so happen to not be under warranty. My wife was driving on the interstate a couple of days ago and the car just stop going, she said it felt like the car just shut off. After pulling over on the side of the road, mind you now we have two small children, she called me and i told her to hold tight until i got there.it ends up being this transmission safety switch, which would you know is not covered under my powertrain warranty, pathetic.............. This dealership and suzuki are gonna keep nickel and dimming me until i am flat broke................... Signed fed up with suzuki !

The contact owns a 2006 suzuki forenza.the contact stated that the vehicle would not start on several occasions.the vehicle shut off once on the interstate and on three other occasions while driving low speeds.the vehicle would improperly shift and rev without warning.there are no recalls pertaining to this failure.the current mileage was 42,230 and failure mileage was 7.

The contact owns a 2006 suzuki forenza. The contact stated that when the vehicle was in the drive position, the gears would slip into neutral and she was unable to move forward. The gear shift indicator would indicate reverse, drive and then neutral. The rpms would increase; however, the vehicle would not move in any direction. The vehicle was not been inspected or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The current mileage was approximately 22,000. The failure mileage was approximately 21,000.

The contact owns a 2006 suzuki forenza. The contact stated that as she attempted to accelerate from a complete stop, the vehicle independently shifted into reverse. The shifter assembly gauge displayed that the vehicle was still in drive. The contact then applied the brakes and the vehicle was stopped. The contact stated that the failure occurred three additional times. The dealer was informed of the failure and stated that the range switch could possibly need replacing. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 57,900 and the current mileage was 58,140.

The contact owns a 2006 suzuki forenza. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to accelerate from a complete stop and a banging noise was heard . The contact also stated that the engine light illuminated.after letting the vehicle sit for a while, it was restarted then operated as designed. The vehicle had not been diagnosed by a mechanic.the failure and current mileage was 80,000. ..updated 03/18/13 the consumer stated the plastic spine in the switch slid onto the metal spline coming out of the transaxle, so when he shifted into gear, the switch would electronically tell the system what gear it was in. The plastic switch burned out over time.

The contact owns a 2006 suzuki forenza. While driving approximately 35 mph, the contact approached a traffic stop signal and applied the brakes when the vehicle shifted into neutral without engagement. The accelerator pedal was applied and there was an extremely slow response from the vehicle. The engine was turned off. The engine restarted with the transmission and gear warning lights illuminated intermittently. The engine warning indicator remained illuminated until the engine was turned off. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the transmission range sensor was replaced. The technician informed the contact that the problem was a common failure. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer within an hour after the repair due to a recurrence of the failure and the sensor was reconnected. The manufacturer was not made aware of the defect. The approximate failure mileage was 62,000.

Steering wheel malfunction - loss of vehicle control and drove off the roadmanufacturer and car dealership did not help multiple other defects, including engine stalling/gears "sticking" -please refer details in letter to be sent to your office by mail.

2006 suzuki forenza...the transmission selector lever sticks and appears to be in park all the time.it also can be shifted out of gear at any time. This has almost caused an accident because i cannot determine safely which gear the vehicle is in.

I was driven when the right side headlight was stopped.

One of my children was buckled in the back passenger seat. My child tightened his seat belt, and the buckle detached from the fabric. This is very unsafe, my car has almost 57k on it. There is no reason for this to happen and is a huge safety concern that should be corrected asap! this situation could have been way worse! thank god i was not driving or in a accident!

Suzuki forenza in front end collision with jeep wrangler.forenza suffered front end damage.the airbags in the forenza did not deploy.the drivers side seat belt in the forenza did not lock when i slammed on the brakes, which led to me slamming against the steering wheel.

On march 6th 2018 i was involved in an accident with a volkswagen gti i was sitting in the left turn lane in the intersection waiting for traffic to clear so i could proceed when i did i was going approximately 5 miles per hour on a city street when a red light runner of course ran the red light and plowed into me going approximately 50 miles an hour . On impact the seatbelt failed to do what it was designed to do. Instead it immediately unlatched which in turn caused me to be thrown into the passenger door, the dash and the back seat.

The contact owns a 2006 suzuki forenza. The contact stated that the rear left passenger seat belt failed to lock into the buckle and would not retract. The vehicle has not been inspected by a dealer or an independent mechanic. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 51,000. The current mileage was approximately 60,000. The vin was unavailable.

The contact owns a 2006 suzuki forenza.while stopped at an intersection, the contact's vehicle was rear ended.he was wearing his seat belt; however, it failed to retract into the locked position.as a result, he struck the steering wheel and sustained moderate to severe head injuries.the police arrived and a report was filed.the dealer and manufacturer were unable to assist.the seat belt was repaired before and after the crash under nhtsa campaign id number 07v315000 (seat belts:front:buckle assembly).the total estimated repair cost is $3,000.the vehicle is currently being repaired at the owner's expense.the purchase date was unknown.the failure and current mileages were 62,000.

Seat belt randomly unbuckles while driving all interior door handles have broken od during he first of ownership transmission slips in and out gear constantly.

When i was driving on the road my airbag from behind on the driver seat busted and my head hit the steering wheel and i stopped in the middle of the road , not knowing what was going on and my i seen smoke coming from the side of my driver seat, and i seen my air bag had busted on it own.

The brake calipers stuck on the front and rear of the car catching the front wheels on fire. This all caused the car to stop suddenly on a major highway. I was able to get off the roadway safely. It turns out thebrake hose lines collapsed inside causing the calipers to lock up. I had to replace the entire brake system.

I slowed down to turn off of a busy street onto a side street. As i went to speed up to about 15-20 mph the car slammed on the brakes itself, my foot was on the gas. I put my foot on the brake for 20 seconds and then put my foot on the gas to try to drive again.the car again slammed on the brakes. I put my foot on the brake, put car in park and turned off the car.i turned it back on and was able to drive to a safe spot. I am terrified to drive it again. What if i had still been on the main road?

This car was purchased in april of 2006 as a brand new car with only 77 miles on it, since that time it has been in and out of the service dept on multiple occasions, the first time being, last year when there was oil leaking all out from the bottom, according to the service dept, it was the seal, a brand new car and the seal just suddenly starts leaking oil everywhere? the last several incidents have been within the last few months for the same problem over and over again, noises from the steering wheel and brake pedal, vibration in the steering wheel, noises and rubbing when you turn the wheel. We were told it was the brake booster and the steering rack, so we were put in a rental and waited for the car to be fixed, before my husband even pulled out of the lot with it after being fixed, it was still doing the same thing, so back it went, we get it back, drive it a few days, still the same thing, so here we go again with another rental, get the car back, same thing again, and yet another rental, now while we are waiting to hear something, our car gets hit while at the service dept by someone stealing another vehicle, of which no one called and told us, we found out when we called to see what was up with our car, so now is it not only still at the service dept but now it is in the body shop, this is ridiculous, this car is obviously a "lemon" and needs to be pulled from the market and anyone who had the misfortune of buying one should be compensated or given another vehicle equivalent to or better then this one.

Coming from ramp heading on to freeway.steering wheel locked.i applied brake prior to entering freeway.car slid head-on into concrete barrier and flipped over into oncoming traffic, landed right side up.car was totalled.

I own a used 06' suzuki forenza. All of the interior door handles have broken. This is not an uncommon problem with these cars as it has been reported on the web many a times. The passenger door handle was already cracked and looked to be glued back together. The driver side door handle just broke along with the rear driver side door handle. When i inquired of suzuki after i heard there was a recall for the door handles they said my car wasn't part of the recall. However they used the same door handles for the 06 models as they did for older models that i do believe have a recall. This constitutes a grave risk to the passengers and myself as i have to unroll my window to even open the door, i have to physically get out to let out the rear driver passenger out. In order to fix this i have to pay a large amount of money for this. I am asking that you to investigate this and make suzuki accountable for these badly made door handles. If i were to have an accident my children and possibly myself may not be able to exit the car in case of a fire.

My 2006 suzuki forenza's passenger door handle broke off with little resistance or force.i understand that this is a common occurrence with suzuki and it is a safety hazard, as the passenger door is inoperative without the handle.there is nothing reinforcing the plastic handle and in the event that a passenger ( or driver, i surmise---same handle) needs to get out of the car quickly, this would impede his ability.king suzuki in fort lauderdale, fl. Will order the part for me and have it installed, but i do think there should be a recall to have every vehicle corrected.

The interior door handle of my 2006 suzuki forenza has fallen off of the driver's and passenger's door.after some research i see that other people are having the same problem and that there has been a recall on some vehicles.when is the recall coming out for the 2006 model?the possibility of being trapped in my car is definitely a safety hazard.

All interior door handles are broken. Each and everyone started with a crack and eventually ending up completely breaking. We are unable to exit the vehicle unless we open the window ,stick hand out and lift door handle. This is a major safety issue for us, we have 3 kids.

Have a 2006 suzuki forenza.both passenger side interior doorhandles have broke off in the exact same spot making it impossible for passengers to exit vehicle without someone opening door from the exterior side of door. If vehicle happens to be in an emergency situation such as crash or fire, passengers will be unableto quickly exit vehicle.upon doing research on situation as to what needs to be done, have discovered this is a common issue with the 2006 2007 model of the forenza and even after doorhandle is replaced they continue to break.

I have a 2006 suzuki forenza that i purchased new from shoals suzuki in sheffield alabama. I have had two of the inside door handles replaced because they will break off in your hand when trying to open the door. This is a safety issue that needs addressed. These handles are 100% plastic with no metal reinforcement. The service manager told me that they have had alot of them breaking. What if the vehicle was on fire and this happened? there would be no way to get out. Please take a good look at thisproblem and issue a recall on these plastic door handles. Thanks.

I face the heat engine and electrical problems like the other suzuki cars of similar models driving in the highway.

The contact owns a 2006 suzuki forenza.while driving 10 mph, the vehicle became difficult to maneuver when making a turn.the dealer was unable to diagnose the failure.the contact felt that the front and rear suspensions caused the failure.as of november 13, 2007, the dealer had not repaired the vehicle.the powertrain was unknown.the failure mileage was 9,000 and current mileage was 11,000.

My strut failed and began to leak at 36000 miles. The mechanic felt that there was no reason for the strut to fail with such low mileage and suggested that we check for recalls. In spite of the fact that faulty struts are an extremely common problem and present an obvious safety risk, suzuki has refused to acknowledge the problem or issue a recall.

1. 4-26-2006, car repaired, found that the purge valve has an internal failure.

Seat belt randomly unbuckles while driving all interior door handles have broken od during he first of ownership transmission slips in and out gear constantly.

My car was new when i purchased it. When i drove at 60 mph or more the car would start vibrating. I have took it back to the dealer several times. But the problem is still there. They have said low tire pressure. They have said the rim might be bent. They have the tires may need balancing. They have said the front end might need to be lined up. Please keep in mind this car was new and i have had this problem from day one.

Went to put the car in reverse and it wouldn't move - check engine light came on but car wouldn't move. Put the car in drive, the gear light on the control panel started flashing but the car still didn't move. Turn the car off - started it up again, panel lights still flashed, car went into gear but when the gas was pressed, barely moved - would not change gears. This has happened too many times and i'm afraid i might get stranded somewhere. Searched the internet and found multiple problems with the transmission range sensor. Can't afford a costly repair but car is the main transportation for my family. Please help!!!

Bought my car brand new with 16 miles on it in jun. 2 weeks after i bought it, the car would not start. It has been in and out of the shop for 53 days and the problem is still not fixed.

I was driving my suzuki forenza when it went from "drive" to basically neutral. I was driving on the interstate and was almost hit from behind because my car stalled. This has happened multiple times since and each time i've been lucky enough not to be hit. This is a seriously dangerous issue because it happens mid drive.

I have an 06 suzuki forenza with about 86,00 milkes.my check engine light came on while driving home from work.seems to be the transmission range sensor.they reset something; light went out.next morning on way to work, it came on again.now have call in to mechanic to see how to get this fixed.i am afraid to drive it since i don't know if driving would cause further damage.

I bought a suzuki forenza 2006 in 10/2005 and since february 2006 i've been having the same problem, 5 out of 7 days it does not want to start, i have taken the car to the dealer for the same thing three times and i call every week for the same reason, now they are telling me that they are aware of this particular problem with the forenzas but they do not have a fix for this problem and there is nothing they could do for me. We bought new so we wouldn't have any problems, and we are paying for this car. Please help us.

When driving, the forenza's transmission will not engage into drive. Recently, reverse has also not wanted to fully engage. Research indicates that this is not an uncommon occurrence with suzuki forenzas nearing 70k miles. The most common part that is malfunctioning is the transmission range sensor.

While driving the cars check engine light will show up. I lose all control of speed even while pushing the gas pedal in. The only way to regain control is to cycle the key multiple times and let it idle in neutral for five minutes. After i regain control the check engine light is still on, and the car will jump revolutions randomly. This will occur on both city and highway speeds, it doesn't act up unless i'm in motion driving. It will rev i'n revolutions while i'm driving or at a stop.

I was one the highway my car rip went crazy i tried to give the car gas and on my dash there was a line thru the drive symbol that was tellin me the car could not drive i had just fixed my transmission 3,4 gear paid to dealer 1,400 3 months later the range sensor goes bad again for 4th time.this car has so many problem and hardly any dealers that can fix the problem and it's always the same problems please help.

The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 42,800.

The contact owns a 2006 suzuki forenza. While driving various speeds, the vehicle suddenly failed to accelerate when the accelerator pedal was depressed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the throttle body was faulty and needed to be replaced. The throttle body was replaced, but the failure continued. The contact indicated that the throttle body was replaced on several different occasions, but the failure continued. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vin was not available. The failure mileage was 36,000.

I was driving my suzuki forenza when it went from "drive" to basically neutral. I was driving on the interstate and was almost hit from behind because my car stalled. This has happened multiple times since and each time i've been lucky enough not to be hit. This is a seriously dangerous issue because it happens mid drive.

The contact owns a 2006 suzuki forenza.the contact stated that the vehicle accelerates or jerks forward when he depresses the brake pedal to stop the vehicle.there were no warning lights present.she must shift into park in order to successfully stop the vehicle.when shifting gears, she hears a thumping sound.the vehicle was taken to the dealer and they stated that nothing was wrong, however, they advised her to apply more pressure to the brakes.the second time she took the vehicle to the dealer they acknowledged the failure.the speed was unknown.the current mileage was 8,500 and failure mileage was 500. Updated 12-12-07.

Thank you.

Bottom of windshield cracked during warm up on cold morning.
