Back in nov 2012 i took my 2005 suzuki forenza in for a recall repair as suggested the recall was on the wiring harness that put the headlights on and off (i had been having trouble with my headlights popping on and off at random times) so after i obeyed the recall i noticed that the problem was fixed so in jan 12 2013 my car was sitting at a local applebees parking lot completely turned off nothing plugged in no lighters in the car just sitting there when someone ran into the restaurant and shouted "whose gold suzuki is that? its on fire" needless to say when i ran out the dashboard was completely in flames the fire dept came to rescue and at my request a fire investigator investigated the incident and concluded that the fire started as a result of a electrical short in the wiring harness...(yes the "recalled'' "fixed" part) the actually dealership that "fixed" the recalled part has already stated that they arent taking responsibility for it & i am waiting to suzuki corporate to conclude their findings i truly hope suzuki does the right thing in this unfortunate matter if not i am prepared to take legal action but im praying they will do the right thing and take responsibility.
I bought a 2005 suzuki forenza.i had no idea that these cars are so hazardous. On the second day after my purchase, the car suddenly went into reverse on the highway in rush hour traffic. I was lucky enough to get it out of reverse and coast to the shoulder. I have since found out this is an ongoing defect that, and that there are many more. I also found out that suzuki has been made aware but sits back and does nothing about it. This car has the potential of being deadly and needs to be removed from the market so that people like me aren't forced to drive something so unsafe. I can't afford the costly repairs and i can't sell this car. I am scared to death that in one of the many stalls some one is going to hit me. It should have never been on the market to start with. I am confident that if someone hasn't already been killed because of this defective car that they will be.
The contact owns a 2005 suzuki forenza. While driving approximately 65 mph, the contact noticed that the air bag off light was illuminated on the instrument panel. The warning light would illuminate sporadically and would often flicker on and off. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer for diagnostics but the vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 100,000.
Recurring event air bag lamp keeps turning on never been in accident had it replaced twice suzuki dealer was off for years, now has come back and stayed on for months. On 3/20/2014 car sputter lost power was able to park it in a parking space not able to turn back on, problem fuel pump went out.8/28/2014 recently, while driving my car, my suzuki forenza 2005 lost complete power: when checked the believed problem is 4-3 shift malfunction p1884 manufacturer cont trans and p0700 trans control system malfunction. My mechanic told me to get a hold of suzuki, to see if under warranty, if its going to be recalled or where it can be repaired, still trying to get a hold of them.
The contact owns a 2005 suzuki forenza. The air bag warning light consistently illuminated on the instrument control panel; which, indicated that the air bags were inoperative. As a consequence, the air bags may fail to deploy. The vehicle was taken the dealer multiple times and several repairs were made; however, none of the repairs have remedied the failure. The failure mileage was 30,000 and the current mileage was 85,000.
We've taken our car in at least 3 times beginning in feb 2006 because the air bag light stays on.when we take it in, the reset something and the light goes off for a couple months then comes back on.now we're out of warranty and they want to charge us to fix it.

June 2010air bag defect--i own a 2005 suzuki forenza wagon. In may 2010 i listed this vehicle for sale only to find (through a check up) that there was a faulty air bag on the passenger side front.at the time of this discovery the car had a little less than 32,000 miles.the dealership said that it would cost $1,500/$1,600 to replace the problem seat.it was also told to me that there exist an "out of warranty assistance" program for safety related problems.after three weeks of waiting for an answer, suzuki denied any assistance.i feel that since this is a "no maintenance safety system" (that is defective as of no fault of mine) that the airbag should be replaced or fixed by the manufacture. After all they have a 3 year - 36,000 mile warranty.(my car has 32,000 miles)how do i proceed against suzuki before some one is injured because of a lack of safe air bag?[xxx] case #[xxx] with suzuki companyinformation redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

We own three 2005 suzuki forenzas. Each has had problems with either the airbag or airbag sensor.one of our vehicles currently will not pass state inspection due to the airbag light being on.this is its second problem of the same kind. One of the other vehicles has had the same problem three times.this is a serious safety concern. Suzuki has never told me if this is actually a problem with the airbag, the sensor, the harness, or something else. My concern is two-fold:(1) will i have to pay annually for a serious suzuki defect in order to pass inspection?(2) is this a real problem? do i have a safety concern? suzuki has never told me if this is actually a problem with the airbag, the sensor, the harness, or something else.my wife and two daughters drive these vehicles.this appears to be an engineering design problem that requires investigation.

2005 suzuki forenza air bag light illuminates intermittently.*mrthe dealer has been unsuccessful at trying to repair the air bag light problem.
The vehicle has suffered from an intermittent airbag light for the past 10k miles but at 110k miles the light has come on and will not go off.i have attempted some of the suzuki owners recommendations of disconnecting and then reconnecting the connectors under the seats to no avail.this appears to be a very common issue with the forenza's and certainly a safety one.
Dt*: the contact stated that the airbag light was illuminated. The dealer determined that the airbag will not deploy, however they are not able to repair the airbag problem.
The contact owns a 2005 suzuki forenza. The contact stated that while entering the vehicle, the air bag warning light blinked twice and remained illuminated. The air bag sensor turned on and wouldn't turn off. There was no accident or reason for the sensor to turn on. Took it to the dealership and had to have the sensor system replaced. Contacted the suzuki customer service and was not given any information why the sensor would suddenly fail other than that it was no longer under warranty and so they were not responsible. The car was recalled in 2012 for electrical issues due to the headlights.

I have 2005 suzuki forenza and the airbag panel light came on and will not go off.this is the second time it has happened.the first time it was still under warranty when i took it to a dealership to be repaired. The light is back on and has not gone out. It is no longer under warranty. Also since it has been on the second time my lighter keeps blowing a fuse. I can't afford to pay for the repairs.
Dt*:the contact stated that the air bag warning light illuminated constantly.the vehicle was taken to a service dealer, where it was determined that the problem is due to wire movement each time the driver seat is adjusted.
The contact owns a 2005 suzuki forenza.the contact stated that the passenger side air bag warning light kept turning off.within an hour of someone sitting in the front passenger seat, the air bag light illuminates.he took the vehicle to the dealer and they cleared the code, which temporarily repaired the failure.two months later, the light began to malfunction again.the contact attempted to repair the failure, but was never successful.the failure mileage was 45,035 and current mileage was 50,000.updated 09/10/08the consumer stated the dealer attached a harness under the passenger seat.. Updated 09/10/8.
The srs airbag system inoperative light stays on. This vehicle has been to shop at least 5 times during warranty period and has failed to be fixed.
I got my car in february 2006, and a few months later after the car is still only a year old, the airbag light came on. It has not turned off since. I have been to the dealer four separate times, three of those times having diagnostics run. The first two times they could not tell me anything at all as to the problem, they had no idea. The third time i was told that i would need to pay for a more in-depth diagnostic to determine if the problem was in the wiring, the computer system, or the actual airbag. I refused to pay for this because my vehicle is under warranty and obviously this is of no fault of my own as the vehicle has never been in any type of accident. They told me this problem wasn't covered under warranty, but the way i see it, it is. This is a manufacturer's defect, which is obviously being experienced by many other parties. The fourth time i took my vehicle in, the dealer's body shop had a different manager. He understood that this could be covered under warranty and promised to call me the next day. He never called. I called him a few days later, the receptionist said he wasn't in and he would get back to me. He never did. Still haven't heard anything from them.
Driver's airbag was fixed 2 or 3 times under warranty, and fixed one more time after warranty expired. The airbag light is on once again.
The contact owns a 2005 suzuki forenza.while driving 40 mph, the contact rear ended another vehicle.the front air bags failed to deploy in both vehicles.the contact was not wearing her seat belt and struck the steering wheel.the steering wheel bent into the dashboard and struck the windshield.both vehicles were destroyed and a police report was filed.the contact sustained facial abrasions, chipped teeth, cuts, and bruises.she did not know what injuries the driver and passenger received in the other vehicle.the rear ended vehicle struck another vehicle, which sustained minor damage.the number of persons injured in that vehicle could be three or more.the contact has pictures of both herself and her vehicle.the current and failure mileages were 52,000updated 12-12-07.updated

Have a 2005 suzuki forenza. Bought it june of 2005. For the time that i had the car it had little problems at times. Bought the car with 5 miles on it. Suzuki dealerships only look at your car by appointment only and when they do look at it they claim nothing was found. The car hesitates and downshifts hard at times. In the morning the car has hard starts when cold. The exhaust makes noise and transmission does too. The claims are that itis a characteristic of that car and normal. Recently i almost got hit by a truck at an intersection because the car stalled while trying to cross the intersection from a stop sign. The gas pedal had to be pressed to the floor to move and it did it slowly. From astop the engine would rev but the car would not move. Also airbag light does not work properly. Suzuki makes it hard to have your car service and claim warranty work. That includes roadside assistance too. When car was delivered back to me after i dropped it off they claim that nothing was found. Maybe it was the gas cap they said. The problem happens too much too be a loose gas cap. I had to get upset for them to look at my car. Many problems for a new car.
From what i understand, the suzuki forenza's airbag sensor (i have a 2005 suzuki forenza) is under the cup holder and faults out easily due to condensation from beverages. Mine just went out for the 3rd time in 2 years. I contacted suzuki, and they said i would have to pay for the repair since the vehicle has 50,000 miles and is out of the "bumper-to-bumper" warranty period. My airbag light on the dash stays on all the time now, indicating a problem. After web research, i found out this is very common, yet there is no recall. This is obviously safety related.
Dt:the contact stated the air bag lightwas on all of the time. It came on the 29 august 2005. Was not sure if the air bagworked.the contacttookvehicle to dealerabout two weeks ago and also on the 9-24-2005. They toldhim they have to replace the parts, and that they have ordered the parts. He felt like they were taking too much time to fix the vehicle. They told him it would be two weeks from 9-24-05. Hewas concerned about the safety of his family, and thatwas why he wantedto file a complaint.
Suzuki automotive of cerritos and santa ana have failed to timely repair and/or install damaged/defective parts on my 2005 forenza. Defective/damaged parts include interior door handles, air bag harness/wiring, ac knobs, stereo buttons attached to steering wheel. Further, suzuki has failed to properly correspond with me concerning these issues. Most contacts were initiated by me.
Upon entering the vehicle; if the passenger was not seated in the vehicle before starting the air bag sensor will not engage. If there is any slight movement in the seat the sensor will disengage. Please provide any further information.
The passenger side air bag will remain off when being occupied after the vehicle was already running.dealer stated they had no solutionfor the problem.
The contact owns a 2005 suzuki forenza.the air bag warning indicator light illuminated.the dealer stated that the sensor for the air bag is located underneath the cup holder; therefore, if anything spills in the cup holder, it damages the sensor.the dealer replaced the sensor.the current and failure mileages were 48,000.
Having trouble with my 2005 suzuki forenza and was wondering if your site couldassist me. I took it back for numerous occasions for air bag sensor, headlight failure, key not being able to come out of ignition, and unable to move gearshift out of park without putting a key in console gearshift.dealership wants to charge me for labor. I am a single mother and i need advise on what i should do.they don't want to let me trade it in without $3,000.i think its wrong to do somethinglike taking advantage of people.i have to drive 60 miles to the dealership and gasis three dollars a gallon.i'm fed up and any help in this matter would be appreciatedthank you angela young
The contact owns a 2005 suzuki forenza wagon.the airbag light illuminated intermittently.on 6 occasion, the dealer was unable to diagnose the failure; however, he later stated that it was related to a wiring malfunction. The failure mileage was 20,000,and thecurrent mileage was 43,000. Updated 05/21/2007.
Dt: the airbag sensor for the passenger air bag was not working properly.according to the handbook, any child under 54 pounds the air bag sensor light should come on.yesterday the child was seating in the front passenger seat and the light did not come on, and today the light came on which showed thatthe air bag was off.has not been to the dealer for repairs.has been to dealer for a brake problem in the past, consumer was vague as to what exactly was wrong other than the brake train, and there was a cd wedged under the air bag compartment on the passenger side.has not contacted suzuki at this time.
The passenger side air bag is off light is illuminated even if passenger weighing over 100 pounds is seated in front passenger seat.sensor will reset if passenger gets out and car is restarted.dealer states that there is nothing wrong and refuses to fix seat sensor.
Passenger air bag indicates "off" most of the time when a passenger is in the seat. I have complained about this to the dealer since the beginning and they keep telling me there is nothing they can do about it and that it is normal .... That my 130# son is 'too thin'.there has been a tsb issued on this.
Dt*: the contact stated the frontal and side air bags did not deploy for both front seats when involved in a collision.while the vehicle was traveling 10 mph, it was struck on the front left side.the road conditions were clear and dry. The headlamps on the car do not work all i can use are the high beams, the inside lighting for the radio do not work either and the paint is peeling off the car.
After first purchasing the car, there were problems accelerating and then car failed. Power steering had to be fixed, timing belt replaced. A few months later speakers started to go in and out, radio lights come on and off, etc. In 2010 headlights failed. Being a broke college student i rode with my brights for almost a year until i looked up the recall online and got that fixed at the dealership. 2011 replaced speakers, still don't work on entire right side of car and back of driver side. One speaker works, very weak and sometimes goes out completely. Interior lights go in and out. Started to leak oil, had to have head gasket replaced under warranty, then had to have radiator hose replaced. 2012 timing belt pops, engine damaged costing almost $2000. Today december 2012, radiator cracks all the way open in the middle of holiday traffic. Terrible horrible car to be a 2005. Seems like i can't go a month without something else going wrong. Feels unsafe at all times!
I'm having trouble with the eletrical wiring. I've noticed a shortness in my radio, according breaks and pressure for the car over heating when stopping. Had my radiator and fans replaced. But still having issues with car over heating. And ac and heat not working when turned on. If close the door or go over a bump in road will work. Just like my radio. I only had this car since last feb and its becoming worrisome. Brake lights sometimes doesn't work has a shortness also. And low head beam on driver side keep going out... Have to drive on high beam all the time at night
Air bag light on since bought car in 2006. Wiring for airbags has been replaced once still an issue at owner expense. Outlet and lighter stop working year after car was bought. Headlight wiring replace twice and day lights still only comes on some times.
Car accelerates very slowly. It will stall out if the gas pedal is floored. The check engine light will blink until the car is turned off. The check engine light will stay on for sometimes a few days at a time and then turn off. Others have complained about the transmission range sensor going up many times.
Headlight switch has melted wires now the headlights will not work.there was a recall to fix melted wires in a splice pack but suzuki will not honor it because now the wires are melted in the headlight switch.this is a fire hazard and they should be held accountable.
Dt*: the contact stated when the key was turned in the ignition, there was no engine response.the problem had occurred 3 times.the vehicle was not towed to the service dealer twice for service.on the first visit, the onboard computer was reset.on the second visit, the vehicle was started on the first attempt, so nothing was done, as the problem could not be recreated.the manufacturer was notified.the model of the vehicle was a forenza.updated 11/3/2006 -

Both headlights fail to turn on upon starting the car.in addition, the airbag warring light all of a sudden came on and stays on.
Fuse for engine cooling system blew and caused the radiator to blow into pieces. Replaced radiator, replaced both cooling system fans, checked relays, 3 different mechanics have looked at it and cannot figure it out. It has gotten so bad that now it blows the cooling system fuse as soon as you turn the key to start the car.
My car has been properly maintained and has a little over 65,000 miles and the transmissions range sensor circuit has started malfunctioning.
The air bag sensor turned on and wouldn't turn off. There was no accident or reason for the sensor to turn on. Took it to the dealership and had to have the sensor system replaced. The contact owns a 2005 suzuki forenza.the contact received a notification of nhtsa campaign: 14v262000 (electrical system) and stated that the part needed was unavailable to service the vehicle under the recall.the dealer was uncertain of when the part would become available.the manufacturer was not notified of the issue.the contact had not experienced a failure.
Gears started shifting on their own, and at times did not shift at all...thank god i was already arriving home when it suddenly jumped into park, bringing the car to a screeching halt, at this point i was already slowing down to get into the driveway. This happened after i had a 1hrs drive on a highway, it would have been a huge accident if this would have happened while on the road. Since this happened, i did my research online and found out this is a very common problem with this vehicle. The bad part is the transmission range sensor. I since then had the car inspected by a mechanic and read the codes p0700 and p0705 that is for that part.

The contact owns a 2005 suzuki forenza. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign id number: 07v452000 (exterior lighting) and took the vehicle to the dealer where recall repairs were performed. After the repairs, the wiring for the headlights became burned, causing the head lights, air bags and the radio to fail.the contact took the vehicle back to the dealer and was advised that the recall repairs caused a small fire in the wiring under the dashboard. The dealer performed a second repair at no cost to the contact however, the failure recurred. The contact later received notification of nhtsa campaign id number:12v397000(electrical system:wiring;interior/under dash) for the wiring harness but was told by the manufacturer that even though the dealer had stated that the previous recall repair caused the wiring failure, they would only cover the exact component that was listed in the recall and the contact would be liable for any additional repairs. The vehicle was not further repaired. The failure mileage was unavailable and the current mileage was 126,000.
Not sure if you can tell us what to do but we bout a 2005 suzuki forenza last april for our 18 year old for graduation and we only bout it for $1200 and was never told about a recall at all. Long story short my son was about to leave one night and within a matter of minutes of him leaving he runs in the house yelling his car is on fire so we ran out put the fire out and then looked it up and found a recall on the part that caught fire. Headlamp switch drl module. Thanks god he was not driving down the street or the other cars or house caught fire. So after i put in the ven number and find this info within a week we received a recall letter from suzuki. Now my question is will this get paid for like the wiring that got burnt up and who pays to get it to another town to get fixed? if someone could lead me in the right direction that would be great i just really think we got screwed and my son really wants his car fixed
Dear nhtsa - i really appreciate your agency in the us and world. You do great work for the value of safety! so, i received safety recall notice in the mail from suzuki and i called the suzuki headquarters to find out where/how to get it fixed. They told me to call this 1 dealer in oahu since i am on oahu to get the recall repair done. When i called that specific dealer, the dealer refused to fix it stating that they didn't have all the equipment and tools or some other reason. All they could do was put my name on a list. Then, when i called suzuki headquarters to confirm this inability to fix my recall, suzuki repeated the dealer info and phone number and told me that my problem was something else. They didn't believe me when i told them the dealer wasn't fixing it! i told them that their process was not accurate and suzuki headquarters stated that there was nothing they could do. The customer service agent at headquarters did not allow me to be transferred to higher management. The agent misheard me and put down wrong information in her notes. She ended by saying that they only fix headlamps. The recall notice said they are supposed to fix: headlamp switch, drl module, subharness, and circuit control at no charge! that's all i want changed - nothing more! no one on oahu or at suzuki headquarters has given me any help fixing this recall. I don't wanna just junk the vehicle because this is a federal recall and it is federal mandate to fix the vehicle immediately (since this is my only vehicle). Help
Some wires inside the signal switch were melting a plastic piece inside steering wheel. It began to smoke and the lights are not working properly.
When i had bought this car in 2010 i was having problems with the headlights turning off at night and had to drive with my high beams on. So i took it into the dealership and they told me that the recall for my car had already been repaired. Received another notice in 2012 regarding the recalled splice pack. Took vehicle in to dealer a second time to have part fixed on 11/12/12 part 99963-85zsc was repaired after fixed i began having issues with the speakers, stock radio as well as the trunk light blinking and check engine light staying on.on july 1, 2013 i had parked my suzuki forenza at a coffee house and when i came out to vehicle the inside of cab was full of smoke. I had inspected vehicle to make sure there wasn't a fire. Smoke was coming from dashboard left of the steering column. We had disassembled the plastic around the steering wheel to discover that the wiring that controlled the lights, headlights, and blinker had been melted into the connector causing the lights to stay on when vehicles ignition was off. Took it to the dealership to be diagnosed. Description was; "vehicle suffered internal failure within mult ifunction switch that has caused a thermal melting of the connectors at the back of the multi function switch and wiring harness"part sm37420-85z10 switch assembly and sm36620-85z70 harness assembly. Estimated repairs $1,570..i believe that all this is caused by improper repair of recalled spice pack due to the components that melted are connected to it. Please look into this issue my car is still at the suzuki dealership. And has taken almost two weeks for them to repair. Said vehicle wont be done until friday july 13, 2013 due to not having the parts in stock.
Hi, i recently purchased a 2005 suzuki forenza i had the car for a month 2 weeks and already the car has been in the shop twice. First time the car broke down in the middle of traffic i had to get out and push it to the curb and this just shouldn't be happening so soon.

Ever since i bought my 2005 suzuki forenza wagon, i have had problems with it starting. I would turn the key and the engine would sound like it was going to start, but i would then have to turn the all the way to the off position to restart and then it would finally turn over. I have brought my car in three different times to the dealership where i purchased it and they say nothing is wrong with it. Obviously there is. They try to say it is from the cold or something else and they claim they "have done all they can do and that nothing is wrong with it." it has had this problem in summer, fall, winter, and spring. It even happened in az in september when it was 110 degrees. My warranty is up in june and i need to have this corrected before then. I also maintain my car very well, so that isn't the problem either.
The contact owns a 2005 suzuki forenza. When the contact parked the vehicle and removed the key from the ignition it is hot, the vehicle would slip out of park. The vehicle was taken to america's motor sports (930 8th ave s, nashville, tn 37203, (615) 834-8990) for repairs. After the repair, the key became hot whenever it was removed from the ignition. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, but was not diagnosed due to the cost. The vehicle was not repaired again. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage and vin were unknown.

This is a rough draft of the letter i will be sending to suzuki:i bought my suzuki forenza in february of 2005. I have taken my car three times to suzuki of west broward for an oil leak. The first time they told me that i had an aftermarket oil filter (from meineke). I had my doubts that this was the problem. I authorized that they change the oil filter. When i brought my car home it was still leaking. I was charged $28.04 for the service that didn't solve the problem. I brought the car back and it was diagnosed as having a porous oil pan. I was not refunded (nor offered to be refunded) my $28.04 for the oil change and filter change. The parts were not in stock and i was told that they would arrive the same week. They arrived the following tuesday afternoon. The oil pan was replaced. The car was still leaking oil. I took it a third time and they could not determine the cause. They said there was a recall on the vehicle.besides the oil leak, the power steering has been making a humming sound when i would turn the steering wheel. This problem i took to bill seidles suzuki in miami. I was told that the rack and pinion was dirty. This seemed to work for some time but now there is still a lower hum. Before these two setbacks, there were minor problems that arose after the 36,000 mile bumper-to-bumper warranty was expired. A bulb went out in the dash and the fog-light bulbs would continuously burn out. I believe this is a grounding problem in the car that produces interference on the radio directly related to my acceleration of the car.after the first year of owning this car, it has been problem after problem. I have noticed that the service centers for suzuki in south florida are of the poorest quality. There is no attention and it seems that parts are never available at the facilities for repairs. I am extremely disappointed with the performance of suzuki and the customer service of the company.
Electrical problems with day running lights. Was told by dealer that it was not bulbs but would be safe - just no day running lights. Three days later (first time run with headlights on after being at dealer) smelled electrical burning. Took to personal mechanic. Wires are melted together. Since tsb issued feel that i should be reimbursed for the expenses by the manufacturer.
Low beam headlights went out. Only high beams work. All fuses good, replaced bulbs, still good and to this day still unfixed. No service department in jonesboro arkansas to test electrical system to find out why low beam headlights do not operate. No running day lights either. Day light switch says on but is not on. Continuing problem and do not drive car at night.email interview update (may 7, 2007):the dealer had to take the dashboard apart and get to the wiring behind the firewall. (the area behind the gauges). The low beam wiring was burnt as was the plastic harness suzuki used to keep the wires together. The wiring for the low beam lights was cut and reattached outside the harness. The mechanic had to call suzuki technical service to discover this, as the dealer ordered a light switch assembly for my car. It was replaced but still no lights so that was not the problem. The mechanic also stated suzuki knows of this but because no damage has been reported they did not issue a recall of harness.my harness would of caught the car on fire because it was burnt and melted. The dealer was very helpful but did not state on invoice the area they really fixed and charged suzuki with the light assembly fixture only. The lights work fine now but i wander if the other wires attached to this area will do the same thing.
The sensor gets damaged, enabling the car to activatereverse and accelerates when placed on drive making hard pumping motor noise.
Transmission range sensor malfunction. Car won't accelerate or go above 1st gear. $160 to replace. Known issue with this vehicle.

My car loses power while car inmotion, also, ac will not power on , but after some time it will power on. Malfunction light stays on at times, and will go off at times, but for now it is on , and has began to blink.car has burning smell at times as well, like plastic is burning or something.
While sitting at a stop light or stopped for more than a minute and its hot outside, the car will just turn off.if i put it in park it will start right back up. It only seems to do this when it is hot outside. Please look into this matter.mechanic has replaced and looked everything over and cannot seem to find anything.

While driving the car i noticed the car started making a loud noise.i asked the opinion of a mechanic who stated that the noise was coming from the motor, and he was more likely sure that it was something called "lifter."the next day i took the car to the car dealer and left the car there so they can find the problem.a whole week passed by and they still didn't know what was wrong with the car.when i finally got in touch with the parts department they stated that they needed to bring a technician to diagnose the problem.finally after 3 days i still didn't receive a call to inform me what was going on i called myself.i called the service manager and he stated that the car neededa certain liquid to clean the motor.another week passed by and i still hadn't received a call from them.so once again i called them, this time he stated that the car needed a motor due to lack of maintenance in other words no oil changes.i brought out to his attention that on my windshield there was the sticker showingthe last time i changed the oil and when was the next time it needed a oil change.i also stated that in the locked compartment he should find receipts of past oil changes.he stated that the motor expense has to come out of my pocket even though the car is under warranty.at this point i don't know what to do, i am missing hours of work due to no transportation,i have to walk and catch the bus when i have no need being that my car is under warranty and the problem it has should be covered.i feel i am not treated fair.i have heard about many similar problems regarding this vehicle from other customers.they too have been lied to and not helped what so ever.
2005 suzuki forenza stalled without warning. Consumer would like it replaced under lemon law. The consumer stated the vehicle would shift back and fourth while driving. The dealer foundinternal transmission failure.while driving, the engine would loose power. The dealer found the brake light sticking from the switch.

The contact owns a 2005 suzuki forenza. The contact was driving approximately 45-50 mph when the vehicle stalled and abruptly came to a stop. The contact received whiplash from the jerking motion. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where they advised him that the engine bearings had seized and the idle pulley failed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and they offered no assistance. The failure and the current mileage was approximately 89,000.
I bought a 2005 suzuki forenza in the winter of 2006. The car was sold to me with no rear defroster system so that winter i had to go through the snow with a completely blind rear view and was inconvenienced into returning it for repair. The beginning of 2008 is when the check engine light came on a week before my state inspection and i had to get an oxygen sensor replaced. Two weeks later, the tread came off my front tires (2 years old mind you) and i had to replace those. In may of 2008, the battery in the car died and that had to be replaced. In august of 2008, the headlights in the suzuki died and had to be replaced. I have all the receipts and documents to back this up as well. On april 30, 2009, my car started to buck back and forth wildly threatening to stall. Two weeks later on may 13, they tell me that the car is covered under the power warranty and they will replace the head gasket. On friday may 15, they say its not just the head gasket but an emission hose needs to be replaced. They do not have the part in stock and have ordered it for monday, may 18 in which the car should be ready. I return my rental car ready to pick up my car when i get a call that monday morning stating that when the car's engine was put back together, the check engine light still came on and they disassembled the engine again and discovered a hole in the cylinder head which had compromised the coolant system. Now, this is not under warranty and i would have to provide proof that i had changed the coolant in the system. Of course, i can not locate that receipt, but its amazing to me that its taken nearly a month to come up with this diagnosis and now i'm being asked to pay for this lemon with only 3 years on it and 35,000 miles. I took a 4 year finance loan deal on this and i still have to pay $5000 on a car that has needed work on multiple location. Whatever happened to standing by your work? thomas suzuki of port jefferson ny is a disgrace.
Dt*:the contact stated while driving at various speeds, the engine lamp illuminated and the vehicle stalled.the vehicle was towed to the dealer numerous times.the dealer replaced the transmission and a sensor in the engine; however the problem remains.
I took my car into the dealership in the beginning of january 2008 for the 2 safety recalls to be repaired.the very next day my car struggled to shift 1st, 2nd and 3rd gears.i called the dealership and told them what was going on and they set up an appointment for the next day.they drove the car and said it wasn't doing anything.so, i left the dealership and my car continued to do this.my car progressively got worse with the engine revving high and not wanting to shift gears.it eventually began jerking violently when trying to shift all gears!i made another appointment with suzuki on february 26, 2008 and drove the car while the manager rode along with me.my car was having a very mild day as far as the jerking and hard shifting and only did it once while he was with me.they reset the computer part of the transmission and sent me on my way.well, the very next day the car went right back to it's old way of jerking and shifting hard.on march 1, 2008 i was pulling out from a side road onto a main road and my car did not want to go!the engine just revved very high and wouldn't shift gears!i didn't know what to do other than to floor it!it eventually shifted gears and went on down the road.now that i am doing a little more research i see that others are having similar problems (odi 10211177, odi 10145983, odi 10144874).i really feel like suzuki is just trying to hold off until i pass the 36,000 mile mark so they don't have to worry about it.this vehicle is unsafe to drive and the dealership in my area does not give loaner cars anymore because of insurance liability reasons.well, this is my only vehicle so i don't have a choice but to drive an unsafe vehicle.i really thought suzuki's customer service was much better than this!
- the contact owns a 2005 suzuki forenza with a current mileage of 18,000 miles.the contact stated that once the vehicle pasted the 15,000 mile mark it had difficulty starting in cold weather.the contact stated that when the temperature was below 20 degrees the vehicle would not start.once the vehicle started under these cold conditions it would stall while driving at any speed.the contact had the vehicle taken to the dealer, but they were unable to find out what had been causing the problem.
Dt:the contact stated while driving thebrakes failed and the check engine light came on.the road conditions were dry, and brake failure occurred under normal braking and at normal to low speeds. He contacted the dealership, whoclaimed the brake switch malfunctioned, causing the check engine light to come on.also, contacted the manufacturer.they told him to contact the dealership.no repairs have been made.updated 1/11/2006 -
I purchased a new 2005 suzuki forenza august 25, 2005. The vehicle was deceptively presented as having a "maintenance-free timing chain" prior to purchase. All recommended maintenance has been performed by the selling dealer. The vehicle had 9759 miles at the most recent maintenance interval. Less than 20 miles later, when proceeding forward from a redlight, ascending a bridge, for no aparent reason whatsoever, the engine failed along with all power assisted accessories including steering and brakes. The vehicle began to roll backwards into oncoming and merging traffic to the rear. Quick thinking to use the emergency brake and brute strength to steer avioded a certain multiple car accident. Had my wife been driving, the accident would not have been avoided.the dealer did not immediately know the cause of the failure, but said they would call as soon as they knew something. I called the following day and was told that they contacted suzuki technical support. Technical support told the dealer to order several parts including a water pump and head assembly. The dealer was informed that some water pumps had the pulley installed backwards allowing the timing belt to skip over the cogs causing extensive engine damage. The dealer wanted to know if this was a common failure, but technical support denied it. How then, did they know exactly which parts to recommend to repair the engine? the dealer showed me the broken retaining ring from the water pump, but has yet to disassemble the engine further because they are waiting on the parts. The vehicle has not been repaired yet. I no longer have confidence in the vehicle either way. I do not believe it is safe to travel american highways with this vehicle.

I tried to renew my tags but was denied pending verification of completion of manufacturers recall. I bought this car new from a dealer 09/05. I called suzuki with the vin. They had allthe correct information on record but i was never notified of this recall which effects the smog system of my car. They told me on the phone there is an "open recall" on my 2005 suzuki forenza, recall #dg. It involves the fuel vapor valves, so obviously california won't issue me tags until it is fixed. You don't even list this recall on your site and you are the representatives of the us government! why do you not list it? suzuki told me to check your site to confirm the recall. I can't trust either suzuki or the nhtsa? please research this and update your site today.
The contact owns a 2005 suzuki forenza. The contact stated that the exterior lights became inoperable and would not illuminate. The vehicle was taken to a private mechanic but the vehicle was not repaired or diagnosed for the failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vin was not available. The failure mileage was 99,000 and the current mileage was 100,000.
The contact owns a 2005 suzuki forenza. When the vehicle was started, the headlamps failed to illuminate. The contact continued driving home using the fog lamps. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 100,000.

Both headlights fail to turn on upon starting the car.in addition, the airbag warring light all of a sudden came on and stays on.
The contact owns a 2005 suzuki forenza. The contact stated that the head light, brake lights and the turning signals were malfunctioning. The vehicle was taken to the dealer several times who only replaced the light bulbs. The most recent failure was diagnosed as the wiring harness being defective and needing to be replaces. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure who did not offer any assistance since the vehicle was no longer under warranty. The vehicle was not further repaired. The failure mileage was 2,500 and current mileage was 120,000.

I called the suzuki corporate office because my 2005 suzuki forenza head lamps go on and off.they re-called this in 2007,i did not own it then but they claim the car was fixed under the re-call. They told me that i need to travel 2 hours to get it diagnosed again and must pay for it.........this is absolutely crap........ What recourse do i have.........short of suing them when we get into an accident when the lights go out on a dark road in the middle of the night.which trust me i will do if that happens!
Lowbeams failed after recall services performed and warranty expired.fuses and relay system fine.called suzuki, informed there will be a diagnostic fee for this because the recall work had been performed already and car is out of warranty.
Help

However, the vehicle had no daytime running lights or headlights at times; once the wiring harness cooled off, the lights would turn back on. If the vehicle was warm, they would turn off again. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer who refused to repair it again under the recall. The failure mileage was approximately 36,000 and the current mileage was approximately 93,000.

The contact owns a 2005 suzuki forenza. The contact stated that the vehicle experienced a complete loss of power while driving through an intersection. The contact stated that the vehicle also experienced an issue with starting. The dealer (germain toyota of naples, 13315 tamiami trail n, naples, fl 34110) was contacted, but the cause of the failure could not be determined. The manufacturer was notified. The contact noted that the vehicle operated as intended prior to being repaired per nhtsa campaign numbers: 14v262000 (exterior lighting) and 12v397000 (electrical system, exterior lighting). The failure mileage was approximately 33,000.
Nhtsa campaign #: 07v452000. Although the dealer supposedly corrected the problem on the wiring harness, i believe that it may not have been properly repaired because thesame indicator instrument panel light is againmalfunctioning.after repair of the harness, the mentioned light indicator again worked properly, whereas before the repair it was not. I spoke with both the dealer and suzuki corporate, and they tell me that there is not a low beam indicator light on my car. However, after driving my car for more than three years i know that when the dll lights are not used, (amber) the low beam indicator light (green) comes on. Unless it is quite dark out, i cannot tell if my headlights are on. Suzuki in brea, ca suggested that i get out of my car and look to see if my headlights are on. And the dealer told me that i can tell if my headlights are on because the dll light is off. The indicator light may be a "dummy" light, but it is the only way that i know my headlights are on and working properly.i would like a directive to have to have my wiring harness re-inspected. They cite lack the lack of warranty to look at anything, otherwise the cost is $100.00. I say this because my airbag light is always on, but for them to look at my airbag, i was told it would cost me $100.00 i really want to order a new one but they will not do that without the charge to "look" at it.
Headlight switch has melted wires now the headlights will not work.there was a recall to fix melted wires in a splice pack but suzuki will not honor it because now the wires are melted in the headlight switch.this is a fire hazard and they should be held accountable.
My lights do not work. The left head light dims or doesnt work at all and the right head light is completely broken. Ive changed bulbs multiple times and still nothing. If i put on my blinker while driving it will cut off the one light that kind of works. Using my brights while on the road may cut my lights on briefly
Air bag light on since bought car in 2006. Wiring for airbags has been replaced once still an issue at owner expense. Outlet and lighter stop working year after car was bought. Headlight wiring replace twice and day lights still only comes on some times.
I filed a complaint last week number 10949103 but due to the nhtsa recall website problems was not able to see that there is a recall on my problem. So i will be taking it in for the 3 recalls on this car.
I have 2 suzuki forenzas of this model year. One had a recall on the daytime running lights (xa recall).one of the symptoms was the headlights going out while driving at night.finally had it done (had to drive 2 plus hours to find a dealer who could do thisbecause of it's orphan status).now the second forenza has the same thing happening yet somehow it's not a part of this recall......this seems to be a mistake and i am stating that other vehicles than the original group are affected by this problem. Problem happens while driving with the regular headlights on.
The headlamps on the car do not work all i can use are the high beams, the inside lighting for the radio do not work either and the paint is peeling off the car.

2005 suzuki forenza. Consumer writes in regards tomalfunction of vehicle driving lights.the consumer stated she received a recall notice in september 2012 and responded immediately by calling the department with her information regarding the expensive repair bill from january 2012, when the said recall had in fact disabled the driving lights on her vehicle. The consumer submitted all of the required paperwork to be reviewed for reimbursement. The beginning of january was her first experience with the driving lights shutting off, while driving in the dark at 60 mph. Within 10 to 15 minutes the lights came back on, but a few minutes later they shut off again.the consumer had various individuals check for a loose connection to the lights, but no one could find anything, because the problem was hidden within the dashboard. The consumer took the vehicle to the dealer, where they diagnosed the problem as a melted splice pack. The customer relations contacted the consumer and informed her the problem she experienced back in january did pertain to the recall and out of the $513.60 bill, should would only receive $75. The representativestated the mechanic was not aware of the problem and had to spend time diagnosing the issue which took him four hours. She then informed the consumer that with the information from the recall notice, the same repair could have been fixed in less than an hour, which was the amount that would be refunded.
Some wires inside the signal switch were melting a plastic piece inside steering wheel. It began to smoke and the lights are not working properly.

The first time i had a problem was with the automatic lights, they would come on when they wanted to after two months of buying the car. I did not do nothing about that, then i was driving and went to turn on my high beams and the lights went out all together no lights what's so ever, but then messed with switch and they came back on. Then just the other day i was leaving a friends house and i had high beams but no regular headlights.

I have a 2005 suzuki forenza.i purchased the vehicle used.i have no daytime running lights and i have no low beam headlights.i have to drive with my high beams on.i have been searching online and have found a suzuki forum and in the forum many people have indicated that this headlight problem is a known problem.i do find a complaint here where a single mom has a similar problem and suzuki refuses to fix it.i can't find any recalls for this problem.isn't the manufacturer responsible for manufacturer defects?can someone please help me?
My complaint about my suzuki, forenza is that i have taken it to the dealership at least twice for a sensor problem. My sensor for my day time lights constantly goes out and comes on whenever it wants. The second time i took it to the dealership they said they put on a new one but even now it constantly goes out then back on again; i cannot take it back to have it looked at because they say my warranty is over; also my low beam headlights no longer work because of a wiring problem the exists. Someone looked at the problem and said it was a wire that lays against a part of the engine that goes to the low beam lights and it burned out. One day i notice smoke coming from the engine and i thought it needed oil. The next day i had no low beam lights to use. I can only use my high beam now because the dealer said my warranty ran out. This car is only 2 years old and i bought it with only 5 miles on it. Those wiring should not be defective as of yet. I found out from a co-worker who has a forenza is having the same problem; he cannot use his low beam lights anymore and his warranty is over; he has to use his high beam also.phone interview update (8-may-07): the complainant indicated that sometimes even the high beams do not work now.

I brought this vehicle used and it now has 37,500 miles. I barely drive it and keep it garaged and regularly maintained. After the bumper to bumper warranty expired and when it past the 36,000 miles (warranty expired before mileage reached) i started to experience hard downshift and hesitating shifts upward (reaches or goes above 3000 rpms before it shifts). These hard shifts are mostly between 30-20 mph and also occur between 5-20 mph but somewhat softer but still easily notable. The powertrain warranty is for 100,000miles/7yrs so i took it the dealer and told him my complaint. Right off the back they told me that they didn't have enough time to really check it out and that all they could do is drive. Also, he told me that my warranty (bumper to bumper) expired and that if the guy had experience with this type of complaint that he might be able to tell me what it was otherwise i was going to have to pay $80+$8 tax for diagnosis and that if it is anything electrical with the transmission that it wasn't covered. Of course as i expected he didn't see what the problem was and told me to schedule the $88 diagnosis. He also told me that suzuki forenzas are known for downshifting hard but i told him that it wasn't like that before the 36,000 mile marker. I came back home though without making the diagnosis appointment and read my warranty details. Under "...what is not covered" for powertrain, no where did it say transmission electronics, infact it covers 'transmission control module' which is an electrical component of the transmission, along with many other transmission parts! i guess they obviously know that this is a common problem since he tried to convince that isnormal and that he right off the back told me that they don't cover transmission electronics and that there is a charge of $88 for diagnosis. After reading some of the powertrain complaints online, it seems like suzuki knows that they have a big problem on their hands and are waiting until warranties exp.
Car accelerates very slowly. It will stall out if the gas pedal is floored. The check engine light will blink until the car is turned off. The check engine light will stay on for sometimes a few days at a time and then turn off. Others have complained about the transmission range sensor going up many times.
The contact owns a 2005 suzuki forenza. The contact stated that while depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle would not accelerate or would hesitate to accelerate. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who replaced the transmission but the failure continued to occur. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 113,000. The vin was not available.
The contact owns a 2005 suzuki forenza. The contact stated while driving 37 mph, the gear shifter independently shifted from drive to reverse causing the front wheels to locked up and the vehicle to stall. The contact shifted the vehicle into park, restarted the vehicle, and shifted back into drive. The contact had taken the vehicle to local dealer yesride (1315 s cumberland st, morristown, tn 37813) who diagnosed that the transmission range sensor was faulty and need to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure persisted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 121,000.
2005 suzuki forenza. Car has 78,000 miles. Manual transmission. Transmission jerks, slips and is now is stuck in the highest gear. Will barely pull out. The problem started with the slipping. This lead to the jerking. Then is started to down shift violently with no notice throwing you forward.these events appear to only present when driving in town conditions. Have not experienced any issues on highway. I have had it to mechanics twice with no success. The last time the transmission range sensor was replaced. At no time has an error code been present that would lead a trained mechanic to a viable repair. This situation is dangerous.
I was driving my 2005 suzuki forenza uphill going 35 mph when it suddenly stopped accelerating and sounded as though it had shifted into neutral.however, the car was still in drive.the check engine light also came on.leading up to this incident, i experienced rough jolting when my car (which is an automatic) was downshifting from third to second gear.i feel very unsafe driving, because i don't know when the car will suddenly stop accelerating.i have since been told that the problem is likely the transmission range sensor.
My car has been properly maintained and has a little over 65,000 miles and the transmissions range sensor circuit has started malfunctioning.

In june 2011, the vehicle jerked extremely hard while driving and then wouldn't accelerated. The vehicle was towed to the dealer and they replaced the transmission range sensor. In november 2011, the vehicle jerked hard again and left the consumer stranded. The vehicle was towed again, where the transmission range sensor was replaced again. The vehicle had not been inspected by a mechanic. The manufacturer was not notified of the issue. The failure mileage was 103,000.
The transmission feels like it is slipping it will not shift gears and will not go above 20mph without the car bucking and kicking like it is fixing to shut off. It only does this when the car is not hot. Changed the range sensor and that was the problem.
The contact owns a 2005 suzuki forenza. The contact stated that while driving at an unknown speed, the transmission failed to shift which prevented the vehicle from increasing speed. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic. The technician diagnosed that the shift control module failed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. I purchased a 2005 suzuki forenza. It ran great for the first year, and then the problems began. My transmission kept slipping and it would flash d with a line through it. The check engine light is on and will not turn off.
Purchased this vehicle one month prior to problem. The automatic transmission constantly hunts for gears, shifting abruptly and sharply without provocation. At 2,950 miles, the 'check engine' light came on and engine began to groan. When proceeding from a stop, the engine would rev but the vehicle would not move as if transmission was not engaged. After a short period, vehicle would jerk violently and transmission would engage, but constantly shift early or late and hunt between gears. Took vehicle to dealer to solve problem. Was informed that the 'check engine' was definitely on and that a transmission flush was performed to solve the problem, as per a "recall" on 2005 forenza transmissions. Transmission does shift smoother now, but still has jerky moments.
2005 suzuki forenza- transmission seems to get stuck in a high gear- i disconnect the battery and the systems seems to re-set. This has happened 3 or 4 times.
I went on a trip to el paso, texas with my family and on my way back i had the worst trouble with my car. My car started jerking a bit. I though nothing of it and kept going just hoping to get home with my kids. On my way back home i stopped by a mechanic shop and they informed it was the sensors in the transmission that were no good. But it is a newer car so i though they must be wrong. I did make it safely to my home. It stopped doing thejerking. Then a few days later it started back up. This issue has been an ongoing since march 4,2008. I thought it was only me but i have found out by autozone that a few people have taken their car fro the same issue. So i believe this issue should b repaired because i did not do anything. I was taken my children 2 days ago to the doctor and what seemed like a normal trip became a nightmare. The car would not go(put yourself in my place at the 5:00 p.m. Traffic) the engine just reved very high and i put my foot down all the way to the floor and then it went forward with a jerking motion forward. I was so scared and still am that i don't want to drive my vehicle because i do not know when it is going to try to stall on me and not shift gears. I just bought the car not even 7 months ago from the dealership. It is over the 36,000 miles and i do expect for this issue to get resolved and for you as a company fix the issue. I did research and i do see all the complaints on this model of car. Are you expecting a major accident for you to take care of the issue??i do not want to drive in an unsafe vehicle with my two small children! would you? i do not want to get into an accident in order fro you to take care of the issue. The cars keeps jerking and you have to put your whole foot to the floor in order fro it to shifti need results!!!!
About 2.5 months after i purchased my car, i had to put a brand new transmission in it due to the shift sensor went bad.now just after the warranty ran out it is bad again.this time i am going to drive the car till it dies and then scrap it.i don't have the money to fix it.suzuki needs to figure out what is wrong with their cars, and fix it.
Dt*:the contact stated while driving at various speeds, the engine lamp illuminated and the vehicle stalled.the vehicle was towed to the dealer numerous times.the dealer replaced the transmission and a sensor in the engine; however the problem remains.
Dt:caller has a 2005 suzuki forenza. Car jerks without warning because the adaptive transmission learning software in the compute is defective. Caller says the adaptive transmission shifting is affected by the computer problem, and the car hunts between gears, and that iswhy it jerks. Caller is concerned about his family being in this car. Dealer said they have no fix at this time, dealer will contact the manufacturer. Caller did e-mail manufacturer and is waiting for a response.
Key cannot be removed after turning engine off. Re-started engine and changed gear. Could hear clicking but once returned to park was still unable to remove key. After 3 attempts of changing gears i was no longer able to go from park to any other gear.
Automatic car down-shift when u let up on gas.
Transmision computer fail to work properly at a moutain. Cars temp. Went high. Vehicle was stuck in 4 gear.
Driver's seatbelt comes unsecured by itself--has happened twice.have only had vehicle about two months. Purchased brand new.
The contact owns a 2005 suzuki forenza.while driving approximately 25 mph, the driver side seat went backwards.the contact drove to the dealer and they stated that two springs and one rod failed.the seats railing system failed and needed to be replaced also.the dealer only replaced the two springs because the rod or the railing was not in stock.the current and failure mileages were 51,000.the left front seat adjust was broken. Updated 12/12/07
The drivers seat has collapsed to the floor board of the car. When it initially happened it almost caused the driver to pull the steering wheel which would've caused an accident. Fortunately there wasn't another car coming the opposite direction at the time. We told the manufacturer about the problem through the dealer and they refused to correct the problem.
Dt:the contact stated while driving thebrakes failed and the check engine light came on.the road conditions were dry, and brake failure occurred under normal braking and at normal to low speeds. He contacted the dealership, whoclaimed the brake switch malfunctioned, causing the check engine light to come on.also, contacted the manufacturer.they told him to contact the dealership.no repairs have been made.updated 1/11/2006 -
I bought a suzuki forenza 2005 for my mother last august. She drove this car for 5 months and she didn't have a single problem. In january she was approaching a red light at the intersection and her car would not stop. She drove through the red light but it was early in the morning and there were no other cars on the road. Slowly her car stopped. 2 weeks passed and she had the same problem. About a month passed, she was approaching the red light and her car would not stop. She called me. She was crying and she told me she was afraid to drive this car. I called good year in ct and asked them to check the brakes. At the good year they could not find anything wrong with the brakes. On april 1, she was driving to her school and her car would not stop again. We took car to suzuki garage in norwich, ct. I spoke with their representative almost every day for a week. They told me that they took a car for a test drive several times and brakes worked normally. They told me that the next time she is going to have this problem bring this car to them. I called their corporate number. I spoke with the representative first and then i spoke with their supervisor mary smith. She told me if the suzuki mechanic cleared a vehicle then there is nothing they can do. My mother picked her vehicle on april 8.on april 13, i my mother called. She had an accident. I spoke to talk to the police officer. I was trying to tell police officer that this car has problem with the brakes. He told me that he saw a receipt from suzuki that the brakes worked great. I told him that this incident happened 5 times in 2.5 months. This car is only 8 months old and my mother is afraid to drive it. I feel that suzuki failed to help me.
Dt*: the contact stated while traveling 10 mph, a grinding noise was heard coming from the rear brakes.on 11/15/06, the service dealer was contacted, who determined that the vehicle needed to be brought in for inspection.the manufacturer was contacted who determined that the brakes were worn down by the contact.the contact expressed that even if the pads were worn down, the dealer needed to check to see if the manufacturer of the pads was producing defective brake pads.the vehicle only had 14000 miles.

Consumer's father, steve herman, has filed this complaint on behalf of the owner who was away at college.

The contact owns a 2005 suzuki forenza. While driving at 35 mph, the steering wheel caught fire. The contact was able to extinguish the fire. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
Took the car in for the struts to be replaced because they were loose and letting the handle unsafely. The local dealer replaced them under warranty and the car drove better. Fast forward to march 2015, i carried the car in for a different warranty repair but wasn't told that the struts were loose again. I found this out from my own mechanic the next day. I contacted corporate suzuki and was told there was no recall. My mechanic talked to another suzuki dealer & was told this is an ongoing problem and that a kit has to be installed to correct it. I had to pay my mechanic to fix it. Shouldn't there be a recall for this because i had only put 19,000 miles on since the first replacement which apparently was done without the kit? the struts were moving a quarter of an inch. Does this not pose a safety issue?
The clock spring in the steering column of my vehicle makes a terrible sound when it is turned at low speeds.i brought it in for repair under the warranty and suzuki replaced it.the replaced part continued to make the same sound so i brought it in again.the dealership stated that suzuki would not authorize a new part, only that they needed to "lube the hell out of it."the lubing has not fixed the problem.this is an issue that suzuki will not, or cannot fix.it is a sub-par product that needs a repair, not a band-aide.
- the contact owns a 2005 suzuki forenza.the contact experienced problems starting the vehicle on march 23 , 2007.the vehicle stalled while trying to start it and required three or more attempts in order to start the engine.the contact took the vehicle to the dealer, and was told the problem was fixed.the dealer ordered and replaced a section of the steering column.on 4/15/07 while driving at 65 mph on i-95 the vehicle stalled, when pressing the accelerator it would not accelerate, the contact also lost power steering and brake control.the contact was able to stop the vehicle by an exit ramp, forcing the steering wheel.the failure mileage was 25,617, and the current mileage was 26,643.
The contact owns a 2005 suzuki forenza. The contact stated that there were exposed wires near the steering wheel and the dashboard was not secured. In addition, the contact stated that the interior trunk light remained illuminated. As a result, the battery was replaced by the contact on more than two occasions. The contact stated that the failures occurred after the vehicle was serviced under nhtsa campaign number: 14v262000 (exterior lighting). The manufacturer was notified of the failures. The approximate failure mileage was 111,125.
I have a suzuki forenza 2005 and had lots of problems. The latest one is the paint is peeling off. This is how it is first i get a big bubble on the car then it peels and is everywhere on the car. The other problems were taking care of by the dealer. But not the paint.

Car was making a loud clacking sound coming for the front end. I took the car to a garage for service. I was told that it was the strut mounts and it would be a very expensive repair. I contacted the dealerand told them the problem. I was told to bring the car in. After the dealer looked at the car i was told it was a cv joint not the struts. The repair was covered under the powertrain warranty. This year while trying to get my car inspected i was told by another garage that my strut mounts were bad and that my vehicle was not safe to drive.
Front struts wearing out, causing tire wear and possible blow outs causing accidents.
Dt*: the contact stated, while pulling off the road to park, the vehicle drifted up to the curb at 1 mph. Or less. When the front left tire made contact with the curb, the sidewall of the tire blew out. The service dealer referred the contact to the vehicle manufacturer, who referred the contact to the tire manufacturer, stating it was a warranty issue. The contact is waiting to hear back from the tire manufacturer.
The sensor gets damaged, enabling the car to activatereverse and accelerates when placed on drive making hard pumping motor noise.
The contact owns a 2005 suzuki forenza. While driving 5 mph before stopping at a traffic light with her foot on the brake pedal, the vehicle accelerated on its own. The contacts foot remained on the brake pedal when the vehicle changed gears and slowed down. The failure has occurred seven times. The dealer was contacted and stated that they have never had any complaints on her year, make, and model vehicle. No repairs were made to the vehicle. The failure mileage was 6000. The current mileage was 16125.updated 3/4/2010 updated 06/18/10.
Transmission range sensor malfunction. Car won't accelerate or go above 1st gear. $160 to replace. Known issue with this vehicle.
The contact owns a 2005 suzuki forenza. While driving approximately 65 mph, the vehicle accelerated independently and hesitated to stop. The failure recurred. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 168,000.
Car accelerates very slowly. It will stall out if the gas pedal is floored. The check engine light will blink until the car is turned off. The check engine light will stay on for sometimes a few days at a time and then turn off. Others have complained about the transmission range sensor going up many times.

I noticed a small crack in my front windshield originating beneath the cowling. Within 48 hours it has spread about 6 inches up and 3-4 feet vertically. There was no impact from road debris and no impact site only a crack that continues to spread even when the car is stationary.
Dt: 2005 suzukie forenza wagon.while on a trip to virigina it was raining and windshield wipers only worked on their minimum speed, and their maximum speed was not fast enough to be efficient.tookvehicle to the dealer, and they compared the maximumwiper speed of two vehicles and they were both the same.the salesman agreed that the speed would not be efficient for the winters. Called the manufacturer, and they said to go back to the dealer . Contacted the dealer, and they could not do anything else. The consumerfile a complaint to let everyone know that this was a serious safety issue.
