The contact owns a 2010 subaru legacy. The contact received a recall notification for nhtsa campaign number: 16v694000 (air bags). The part needed was unavailable to perform the recall repair. The manufacturer was notified of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.

The contact owns a 2010 subaru legacy. While reversing out of the driveway, another vehicle driving at approximately 55 mph crashed into the front driver's side door of the contact's vehicle. The air bags failed to deploy. The driver sustained lacerations to the head, hematomas, amnesia, stuttering, damage to the nervous system, and severe head injuries. The injuries required medical attention and caused the contact to become an epileptic. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a dealer where it was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 37,000.

The passenger-sideair bag in our 2010 legacy is turning off intermittently and spontaneously while the car is in motion, although the passenger seat is occupied by a 120-pound person.the bag is deactivating even though the seat is securely locked into position as far from the dashboard as it will move, and nothing is placed beneath the passengers seat. To reactivate the air bag, it is necessary to stop, then to restart the engine, and that maneuver is frequently not feasible in either heavy freeway traffic, or on remote highways that lack shoulders. The rebooting procedure indicates that the problem is not any sensor for the seat it is a problem with the computer operating the air bag. The dealer is unable to treat this problem.

The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign numbers: 16v694000 (visibility) and 16v358000 (air bags); however, the parts to do the repairs were unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repairs. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.

I weigh 115 pounds. When i sit in the front passenger seat of the 2010 subaru legacy, the airbag indicator light does not come on. When someone heavier sits in the seat, the airbag indicator light comes on. I worked with my subaru dealer, who had no remedy, so they referred me to subaru of america (800-782-2783). I opened case 1-25522457944. They tell me there is no available repair, and the passenger must "sit properly" in the seat. I am sitting properly. This was apparently an issue they knew about, as they corrected in in the 2011 legacies (we own one of those, too). I have no problems when i sit in the front passenger seat in the 2011 model. Subaru of america confirmed that if the indicator light is not lit, the bag will not deploy in an accident. So a person over 80 pounds sitting in the front passenger seat of a 2010 subaru legacy is not protected. It seems to me that there is a remedy, but perhaps subaru doesn't want to go there. I want the vehicle attributes i purchased to function as designed. They say it is, but if it doesn't deploy for someone who is 115, how did they design it? is this something you can help with? we first noted this problem in 2014, took it in, subaru could find nothing wrong. This time, we pushed harder for a resolution, so we have betterinformation. When did this first happen date will reflect the most recent date.

Another vehicle stopped directly in front of me ,hitting the front of my car with force. Then that car abruptly left the scene. The airbags did not go off and i was severely jolted. Then the car went up in flames. I was in a state of shock and confusion. Left the scene and ran home as my body was in turmoil. I had to use the bathroom immediately. I then called the police. Regarding the accident. The other car has still not been found. Progressive is my insurance. The car was towed to a lot in turnersville,n.j. My insurance company has all the information.

The 2010 subaru legacy gt has a defect in the sensor that determines weight in the passenger seat.this sensors function is to turn the airbag on or off depending on the amount of weight in the seat.with a 114 pound woman in the passenger seat, the automatic airbag sensor does not signal for the airbag to be ready to deploy and continues to be in the off mode.after taking the vehicle to multiple subaru dealerships, i was informed that the needed weight to turn the airbags to the on mode was 17 pounds.my 114 pound wife is far more than 17 pounds but the airbag sensor still does not trip to the on mode.i am worried that a passenger will not be protected in a possible crash.

Takata recall. The contact owns a 2010 subaru legacy. The contact stated that nhtsa campaign number: 19v009000 (air bags) exceeded a reasonable amount of time for repair. Stateline subaru (1451 brayton point rd, somerset, ma 02725) stated that the parts were unavailable for the repair. The manufacturer was also contacted and confirmed that the parts were unavailable. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.

Occupancy detection sensor failed, passenger front seat.

Takata inflators - i contacted subaru and they are still months away from being able to replace defective equipment. We are unable to use the vehicle for our family because of the safety issue.

Front passenger airbag works intermittently. Purchased new 2010 legacy from hudson subaru jersey city in mar 2010. Front passenger airbag light is frequently off when i am sitting in seat (5'7" & 135lbs). Is properly activated half of the time. Tried many things to get airbag to turn on including: 1. With car running, unfastening passenger seatbelt and refastening 2. With car running, opening passenger door, exiting car and getting back in 3. Exiting car, shutting car off, restarting car and getting back in 4. With car running lifting myself up and off seat and sitting back down as hard as possible. Husband took car to hudson subaru on 11/9/10 and they recalibrated seat module and sensor. Problem persisted so he called hudson subaru on 10/12/11. Said they have received a number of calls regarding this issue, but that there is nothing they can do. Sensor is designed to activate airbag when 90lbs of pressure is applied to seat.if a smaller person is not sitting squarely in seat, sensor may not detect persons weight and airbag will not be activated. Called subaru on 10/12/11 and opened a case. Also emailed subaru on 10/20. Received email reply on 10/26 requesting i bring car to dealership and meet with a field rep. On 11/1 rep indicated weight setting is not 90lbs its closer to 112lbs. Said he met with a couple in flemington having same issue and had to replace gel bladder in seat.he asked to see car and checked to be sure seatback not reclined and then asked me to sit in car. Pointed out that backs of my thighs did not touch seat and suggested my full weight was not being detected by sensor.he kept car overnight and performed different tests, but was unable to replicate problem.he emailed me a page from owners manual which detailed how someone should sit in seat and steps an owner should take if the airbag does not activate.

Takata recall: nothing has happened yet. However, there are a lot of recalls for this type of airbag, so i want to make sure my vehicle is safe for my family and i.

Passenger air bag light indicating air bag is off when a 5'4'' 112 pound adult female is in the seat. The indication light will sometimes flicker from off to on but mainly remains off for the duration of the drive regardless of the speed as well as when the car is in park. This incident has occurred since the purchase of the car in june 2011 and continues to occur each time my wife is in the passenger seat.

Air bag sensor for passenger side reads off when passenger in in the seat

Takata recall

Takata recall - schaller subaru of berlin, ct cannot accommodate this recall until october 8, 2019. Call to schedule the recall asap was made july 15, 2019.

There was a recall with this model and year and they told me my car wasn't included in the recall when its doing exactly what the recall was for. I have no horn, cruise control, no radio controls and i don,t know if the air bag works. This car is dangerous to drive and subaru refuses to repair i was told it would be $200. Plus just to diagnose it when they already know what it is. Any help would be appreciated.

I purchased a new 2010 subaru legacy. When my wife who weighs 120 lbs sits in the passenger seat the indicator light for the airbag that displays the system ?on? does not always display. It remains in the off indication. I brought it back to my dealer twice who claims there is nothing wrong with the airbag and it is designed that way. Designed to sometime go on and other times not?makes no sense. I reported to subaru america who gave me the same story and assigned a case number .i did further research on line and appears there are other reported instances, exactly the same scenario with 2010 legacy and 2010 outback. If federal law requires passenger airbags, why would subaru design a car where the passenger side airbag does not always go on. They claim my wife may be too light but 120 lbs is a full grown adult. Also does not explain why it sometimes works and other times not.this is a safety issue and someone needs to look into this. It is either a latent defect or a design flaw.

Frontal driver's airbag did not deploy when automobile struck a utility pole head-on with sufficient force to damage it beyond economic repair. Only occupant was operator, and was using seatbelt but was injured due to force of impact against the steering wheel.note 1: mileage is unknown. Figure supplied is an estimate.note 2: photographs of the damage are available and the vehicle is being preserved for further examination.note 3: this report is being submitted by a professional motor vehicle accident reconstruction. The contact information in this form is that of the engineer who is investigating the accident.

Passenger airbag indicator intermittently lights but, says the passenger airbag is off most of the time when my wife or teenage daughter is in the passenger seat. I complained to walser subaru service center in minneapolis. They reported to me that they have had several complaints but, no corrective action from subaru so, they cannot fix it.

The contact owns a 2010 subaru legacy outback. The contact stated that while driving at unknown speeds, the air bag warning light would illuminate. The dealer diagnosed the failure four times and replaced the air bag sensor but the failure recurred. The dealer was unable to duplicate the recent failure. The vin was not available. The failure mileage was approximately 150 and the current mileage was approximately 4,000.updated 12/6/10

Legacy 2010 gt - passenger seat airbag light off when passenger weighs 125 lb or less. Adult is a full size adult: 120 lb, 5'5", 37 years old woman.

Air bag sensor / switch for front passenger seat malfunctioning.tested and verified with both 125lb and 135lb adult female.indicator light shows passenger air bag as off most of the time and intermittently changes to on while driving.i have had the technicians both look at and verify the problem more than once and have also recorded video showing my wife sitting normally in the seat with the airbag indicator showing "off".subaru has continued to insist that the sensor is functioning properly and has even gone as far as claiming that my wife is sitting improperly.they have tried to "re-zero" the sensor and they claim that the system is showing proper function.i was told that there is no longer a specific weight specification for the sensor (80lbs) and that it uses fuzzy logic (multiple sources of data) to determine the switch setting.i have made 4 trips to the dealership to correct the problem including leaving my new car with them for 7 days only to have it returned in the same condition them stating that it works according to subaru's policies.they have also claimed to recreate the problem on two other 2010 models of the car bringing them to the conclusion that the sensor is functioning properly.at 125 / 135lbs, my wife is well over the 80lb threshold often used to determine if an airbag should deploy or not.it is therefore dangerous and potentially life-threatening for my wife to ride in the passenger seat of our new car.

Rear-ended by driver coming at fast speed, shoved us into car in front of us twice, although i had my foot firmly on brake.no airbags deployed.my right knee was rammed into the sharp, hard plastic area under the steering wheel, which resulted in a deep cut and bruises which ended up being diagnosed as torn acl/miniscus and a fracture.i underwent surgery in order to repair my knee.shortly after surgery, i received a recall regarding the airbags in the car and a component was replaced in the steering column.i believe that the area under the steering wheel of the 2010 subaru legacy is dangerous and needs to be modified.

Car shuts off while breaking. Used to happen when stopped but now happens a few times a day when just trying to break. It almost caused an accident a few times. The car shuts off while in drive, lights flash on the dash, i have to put in park and turn the key off. It starts up fine, but happens again and again. It's been going on for about half a year and is getting worse. No one can seem to find any fail codes or anything.

Many warning lights on the dashboard come on simultaneously for no apparent reason. Usually thelights flash off and on. I have had this problem with the auto checked by a garage serval times but the vehicle indicates that nothing is wrong when tested by a technician.this problem has caused significant damage to the car. When an oil change shop left the lid to the coolant system open i did not recognize there was a problem until i was on the highway and saw steam coming from the engine, ie many dashboard lights were flashing not just the one for coolant system. The problem is like boy who falsely called "wolf" too often.

Another vehicle stopped directly in front of me ,hitting the front of my car with force. Then that car abruptly left the scene. The airbags did not go off and i was severely jolted. Vehicle will shudder and stall when coming to a stop most often in the uphill position, it will also stall when coming to a stop after braking hard. This problem is avoided if you place the car in neutral but that is the only way. Engine idle will drop drastically and the vehicle has a hard time reengaging into drive after coming to a complete stop. I assume it is the cvt transmission or the torque convertor.

Car stalls when slowing down or braking to stop. No error codes or engine light warning. Car starts right after but stalls again frequently. Checked all fluid levels ok. Happens with hot or cold weather.

On wednesday, november 19, 2014 my son left for work at his usual time and started the subaru.immediately, the engine roared at full throttle, and the vehicle took off down the street, where it jumped the curb and crashed into a tree at 45 mph.distance traveled was less than 400 feet from where it started.based on an eyewitness account, it is presumed that the vehicle suffered an unintended acceleration mechanical issue outside of the driver's control.emergency service personnel arrived within minutes, and he was taken to the major metro-area 833 bed hospital (level 1 trauma center) where he was admitted to critical care.he died peacefully and without pain on wednesday afternoon, november 26, 2014, at age 37.subaru of america was notified of this incident on friday, november 21, 2014; a detailed description, police crash report, and 18 pictures were provided, with a request for them to inspect the totaled vehicle and download available information from the black box recorder/event data recorder.(note: as of today, november 29, 2014 no action has been taken).

After 2 re-manufactured transmissions installed the same problem with the cars transmission. The car is stuttering and warning lights are on. The car feels like it's going to turn off while driving. At times the vehicle accelerator jams.i worry about my and my passengers safety.

I had a major safety issue with my 2010 subaru legacy while driving on the freeway.the car was doing approximately 50 mph and i accelerated to change lanes and all of a sudden the car lost all power and eventually came to a complete halt right in the middle of fast moving traffic.i turned on my hazard light, put the car to park and restarted.the car would start but wouldshut down slowly in the next 2-3 seconds even before i could put it to drive and accelerate.i noticed that all the lights in the dash like traction control, check engine, etc all lit up and the car just slowly died.after trying it one more time (with same results) i shut off the car completely and started calling aaa for towing.after about a minute when i tried to re-start the car, it sprang up to life normally (i.e. Without a slow shut-down like the prior two times) and accelerated when i put it to drive like nothing had happened.i was then able to get off the freeway for safety and popped the hood to see if there was anything on the surface that i could find wrong.everything looked fine, i was even able to get back home all on the freeway normally.i tried to stay on theright lane and simulate the same (i.e. Doing decent speed and then accelerating), but everything was normal.sunday being mandatory dealership closures in nj i was not able to bring it to the dealership.the whole incident was completely random and was needless to say extremely dangerous and stressful.i have contacted subaru of america and waiting for their response.in the interim i wanted to post this to nhtsa in case other such incidents have been reported.

My car was sitting overnight and when i started the car the check engine light, stability skid light, brake light, and cruise light are on. I replaced the gas cap and these lights are still on. Cruise and brake lights are flashing while other lights are just on.

While turning into a parking lot, the check engine light, emergency brake light, the cruise control light and the stability control light all came on and started blinking. Parked the car and shut off the engine. Let set for an hour. Started again. Ran it home and all lights previously indicated stayed on doing the same thing. Car ran fine though in all instances.

On the 2010 subaru legacy 2.5gt the under hood emissions label shows a misprint.the label includes the word "air" indicating that the vehicle should have a emissions related air pump.the vehicle does not!this was apparently updated on the 2012 models but not the 2010.this error on subaru's part is causing me to fail california's emissions test.i now have to visit a referee because of this error.

The contact owns a 2010 subaru legacy. When the contact purchased the used vehicle, she had it inspected by an independent mechanic. The mechanic did not find any failures at the time; however, the vehicle kept stalling when driving. An independent mechanic stated that the vehicle needed a new transmission and hardly had any fluids. In addition, there were a multitude of failures with the vehicle, including the brakes, engine, and transmission. The contact spoke with the federal trade commission to file a complaint with the dealer from where the vehicle was purchased (rad auto shop, 101 n main st, sharpsburg, pa 15215, (412) 782-2886). The contact was referred to her state attorney general's office. The contact stated that her bank would file a claim on her behalf if the dealer did not refund her money. The dealer and manufacturer were not contacted. The failure mileage was 141,000.

The problem is with the torque converter failing and the dealership wants me to pay $2,100 which i'm not doing and it's an ongoing problem with subarus with cvt transmissions which makes its stall when pressing on the brake when it happens to me every single day now ever since the dealership looked at it last.

Stopping vehicle quickly and engine shudders and stalls at any speed.my car has 120k miles and has been doing this since just under 100k miles

Problems with electronic throttle controlor throttle bodys causes the vehicle to hesitate for several seconds upon initial acceleration.this has nearly resulted in accidents on several occasions when merging or pulling out into traffic.problem of vehicle stalling when stoppingat a light started at the same time (related problem).drives fine under all other conditions.dealer unable to assist.

I parked my car after traveling about 100 miles.i was sitting still with the engine running.i have a manual (6 speed) transmission, and the car was in reverse, but the clutch was in all the way and my foot was off the accelerator and on the brake.suddenly, without any warning, i heard a noise and the engine quickly started to rev and the tachometer went all the way to the red line.after i recovered from the surprise, i tried to kick off the engine by depressing the accelerator quickly and releasing it.my action had no effect.i then turned the engine off with the key and it cut off.i have driven the car today and not had any recurrence of this nor have i had any instance of this type prior to last night.

Car often shudders & stalls when coming to a stop on a city street also will sometime stall when going slow to turn into a parking space.

Torque converter- stalls when coming to a stop

Per service bulletin # 16-90-13, the car will stall when coming to an abrupt stop. Part of the time, the vehicle will stall when coming to a normal stop as well. This happened once while city driving when a light went from red to green as we were approaching. We were down to under 5 mph and went to accelerate again to continue with the flow of traffic. Before i could release the brake, the car stalled and almost caused us to get rear ended. So that along with the inconvenience and danger of dying at stops will push us into performing this costly repair asap. The stalling can occur sometimes at every stop, and sometimes it will not happen for multiple stops. The torque converter is a known issue, and is to be replaced with a more updated modelwith different internal components. I contacted subaru and they informed me i was outside of my warranty so it was completely up to me.

The contact owns a 2010 subaru legacy. While driving approximately 35 mph, the contact came to an abrupt stop and the engine stalled without warning. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer (brunswick subaru 2992 center rd, brunswick, oh, 44212) where it was diagnosed that the torque converter needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but did not offer any assistance. The failure mileage was 136,000. The vin was unavailable.

I had entered a parking space, and was slowing to come to the end of said parking space.the car rapidly accelerated, and i could not stop it with the brake. I hit the concrete at the end of the space at full speed, which stopped the car.i noticed that the impact had slipped the gear into neutral.when i turned the car back on, it registered that it was in cruise control.ihave never used cruise control on any this or any other vehicle.i have bruising from the seat belt, and neck pain from the impact.the vehicle is not drivable due to damage to the front end, and a rumbling noise in the engine with poor response when accelerating.

The contact owns a 2010 subaru legacy. The contact stated that while the driver was driving and came to a stop, the vehicle stalled without warning. The driver restarted the vehicle and was able to drive normal. In addition, the contact stated that each time the vehicle shifted down and come to a stop, it would stalled. The failure recurred numerous times. The contact called ed reilly subaru dealer, located at 150 manchester st, concord, nh 03301, (603) 225-0200, and informed the dealer of the failure. The technician advised the contact that it was the torque convertor that failed and was a known issue. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer and was not repaired due to the diagnostic and repair fees. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 120,000. The vin was not available.

I put my foot on the brake at an intersection (came to a hard stop) after deceleration and the engine hesitated, then stalled/stopped completely. I must put the car in park and restart the engine to remedy the stall. This has occurred 4 times in the last week. In two situations, the vehicle behind me had started to accelerate, but my vehicle was not in motion because i must put the car in '(p)ark' to restart the car. This is a safety hazard because the car stops so abruptly.

My car stalls when i come to a stop. It is an automatic cvt car. He happens all the time. Could cause an accident when i stop and then accelerate.

Vehicle stutters and frequently stalls when coming to a stop. The more aggressive the braking, the likeliness of stalling becomes higher.the vehicle needs to be put into neutral to be restarted. This also occurs more frequently in colder temperatures. The older the vehicle the more obvious the issue becomes. Currently 99500 on a 2010 legacy. The dealership has confirmed that the converter needs to be replaced, but subaru usa is unwilling to offer support due to the vehicle being outside the 'extended warranty'.the information originally disclosed by subaru did not say that the vehicle may stall.this has now become a major safety concern which could leave individuals severely injured or dead if this were to occur at an unfortunate moment.dealership estimated the repairs at about $3,028 plus tax.

While crossing a busy street i was forced to brake hard and quickly because the car ahead of me suddenly stopped. My subaru's engine then stalled. I was almost hit from both the rear end and from the side because i couldn't start my car fast enough. The dealership indicates that this is due to a bad torque converter on the cvt transmission. This is a known issue with the 2010 legacy, but they will not and the nhtsa won't force them to do a recall. However, my car is 16,000 miles outside the extended warranty they established when they found out about the problem. They indicated that i could have resolved this issue by july 2018 at no cost. However, since that date has past i'm out of luck and must pay for it out of pocket. Also, the car did not have any of these problems then, so they wouldn't have done preventative maintenance for it anyway. Therefore, i must now drive around a car that stalls whenever i brake. I am going to get in an accident. I just hope i don't die.

When making a hard break the rpm's will drop so low that the vehicle will begin to shudder and then eventually stall. This i find is dangerous because there have been times where i've been at an intersection and had to hard break and i have to turn my car off and turn it back on before i can move out of the way.there is a recall for my same year 2010 for the subaru outback manual, i have the cvt transmission so i'm sure they differ but essentially described as the same issue. I notice it more at the beginning of my drives if i drive for over a half hour i don't recall experiencing the issue any longer. It's been progressively getting worse over the last few months. I read online that sound correct to the problem with a reflash some corrected the problem by replacing the torque converter and some a new transmission. I have been putting my car in neutral to keep the rpms from dropping out so low that the car stalls out

I bought a new 2010 subaru and it makes an abnormal noise. I have had it in to be repaired and was told there is not fix to the problem.purchased 8/19/09 from shortline subaru. I have discussed with subaru of america and they have no date to fix this problem and have not acknowledged there my certified letter to them. They told me this is a widespread problem and there is no notification to the public of this and i think the public deserves to know they are selling a defective car.

Start car , engine cold, or at least not fully warmed up. While driving, push clutch in , take foot off gas to shift. Engine revs drop to near zero. Engine stalls.its intermittent. But some anecdotal evidence that hot weather exaggerates the issue.seems to happen less when engine is fully warmed up.dealer has recreated the problem, but said they can do nothing about fixing it.this car has died in intersections twice and also on open road in traffic.

Engine has stalled (completely shut down) 5 times at low rpm, leaving all systems off, including power steering.conditions of each stall: low rpm, vehicle decelerating, clutch engaged, shifter in neutral, hot ambient air temperature, air conditioner on.more prevalent (4 out of 5 occurrences) when engine is cold (within minutes of starting).engine restarts normally.this is a safety concern, as the stalls have occurred twice while performing a turn across oncoming traffic.

Driving a 2010 subaru legacy on a narrow street with a 90 degree turn.entering the turn the clutch pedal was pressed disengaging the clutch, the brakes were applied slightly - the car stalled as the engine died.since it was a turn and the car has power steering the nose was in the opposite lane before it stopped.there was no accident.

2010 subaru legacy driver side floor mats keeps moving and could make it difficult to brake/accelerate.there are 2 "pegs" sticking up to hold the floor mat in place but as you drive, the floor mat shifts and comes off the right peg pushing the mat up and turning it.this happens routinely every day as the car is driven.the floor mat does not stay safely in place.please note that this has happened since the first day of ownership and at all speeds.

We purchased this vehicle used, one owner, in may 2013.we have constantly had to replace headlight and mini bulbs.we have not purchased subaru bulbs and did not have dealer to install.dealer is 2 hrs away and would be too expensive.i do not believe the problem is with the bulbs but is something wrong with this model car.they are very difficult to get to and to replace as my husbandand i replace them each time.on november 27, 2013, one headlight went out and then before we replaced it on december 13, 2013 the other headlight went out.i had to drive home (about one hour) in the dark and thank god i was not involved in an accident.but this is very dangerous and it happens all the time.we just don't know when or if both will be out at the same time.purchased 5/25/13,11/27/13 headlight out,12/13/13 headlight out, 3/12/14 mini bulbs replaced, 7/1/14 headlight out,10/21/14 headlight out, 1/6/16 mini bulbs replaced, 5/5/16 headlight out, 5/101/6 mini bulbs out.this was all the receipts i could find, could have been more.this very annoying due to the difficulty in reaching the area to replace the bulbs.please have subaru to find the cause and fix this before there is a major accident or injury to someone.thanks!!

I bought a 2010 subaru legacy and believe that the headlights used on this care do not meet the u.s. Sae headlamp standards, but instead meat the european ece standards.my car has a distinct horizontal cut off line across the entire horizon which is the main characteristic of the ece standard.subaru told me that they have had other complaints about their headlamps.

I have had to replace my low beam headlight bulbs fours times (on each side) in three years. I've had the dealer do it twice, and i've done it twice. The dealer made me pay because bulbs are not covered under warranty. Changing the low beam bulbs on this vehicle requires removal of the tire, and the wheel well liner - it take at least an hour, and is extremely cumbersome. The dealer charged me $150 for each incident. I cannot afford to keep changing these bulbs. Something has to be wrong with the headlight unit.

The running lights on my subaru legacy do not illuminate high and far enough in front of the car. The service mgr said he would put hi-intensity bulbs in. He was overruled and they installed fog lights that did not improve range of lights. Factory people said the lites only adjust right/left.

The low beams and driving bulbs on my vehicle with less than 54,000 miles keep needing to be replaced. There is no easy access to perform these costly safety repairs , due to the engineering and placement of the headlight assembly(ies). The most recent occurrence was on 04/04/2017 past repairs (4) were done by self and body shops due to access through the wheel well cowling only, today i have a low beam and driving light out on each side of the vehicle!no lights - no safety!

I have a 2010 subaru legacy 3.6r i bought almost 4 years ago. In the time that i have owned it i have replaced 7 headlight bulbs and have to do it again because one just blew out. It is not one specific side, its either or both. Why is this happening? is there a recall on the assembly? i know the bulbs are the right style for the car and i rip the whole front end apart to do it because of the style of the car.

Over the past 9.5 years that i've owned the car, i've hadto replace the headlight bulbs on both sides at least 5 times in each side. I've talked to subaru about this and they cannot give me a definite answer/solution to problem. They did extend warranty to 10 years regarding this so they know something is going on but do not disclose to customers. I'm just trying to figure out a permanent solution

The contact owns a 2010 subaru legacy. While operating the vehicle, the head lamps would not illuminate properly due to a defective headlight assembly. The contact indicated that the tabs on both headlight assemblies were fractured, which caused the light bulbs to become unsecured and move while the vehicle was in motion and making turns in either direction. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer (cascade subaru, 4149 state rd cuyahoga falls, oh 44223) where it was diagnosed that the headlight assemblies needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact was concerned that the headlights would not function properly, causing a visibility hazard. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 30,000. The vin was not available.

This is the fourth time that my right headlight (low beam ) has burnt out on this car. I see where subaru has recalled other models for headlight problems. Why not this model ?

My 2010 subaru legacy automatic...while accelerating on an incline lost all acceleration, car acted as if it was in neutral, no response from the throttle.lights were still on, no warning light indicators. Pulled over, turned off the engine and restarted.problem has not occurred since.dealer says he can't recreate the problem and the diagnostics reveal no error codes.afraid to drive my new subaru.

My subaru is equipped with cvt, when fuel is appealed engine revs, pause, then drop in rev and acceleration. This is a safety concern when passing, cornering, or any other point when in a rolling start.

The electronic parking break does not work on my automatic when i park on an incline it just beep's and flashes break on dashboard

Update to complaint number 11254310summary of previous complaint: the subaru legacy has an issue where the vehicle will stall if the brakes are applied too firmly. Subaru refuses to fix this issue since the vehicle is out of warranty, even though they are aware of the defect.update: this issue has caused an accident. My mother has been conditioned to not hit the brakes too hard for fear of stalling the vehicle. Recently, a vehicle came to a sudden stop in front of her, and she did not apply the brakes hard enough to avoid a collision. Thankfully nobody was seriously injured, but my mother did sustain some minor neck pain the day after the accident.this is a serious and known issue that subaru refuses to resolve.

Car drops rpm and stumbles to almost stalling during breaking at city speeds also does the same in low speed reverse situation like parking. Dash lights up but no code stored. This is the third time this issue has presented itself. I spoke to a dealer reference the reverse issue and was told that there was nothing wrong with the car. Subaru claims to be one of the safest vehicles on the road? this is not safe. The chance of being rear ended at highway speed could be deadly!

Transmission has an issue with lock-up type torque converter where the vehicle stalls at stops. Took the vehicle to lawrence subaru dealer in hanover, pa, dealer refused to fix under current warranty citing no issue with vehicle.

My car stalls when i come to a stop. It is an automatic cvt car. He happens all the time. Could cause an accident when i stop and then accelerate.

Issue: when slowing down and then during final braking (such as at a stop sign or traffic light and also when applying the brakes to avoid a dangerous situation at speed on the highway) the car will "shudder" and then the engine will stall and stop running. This is particularly dangerous in traffic if it is necessary to get off the road. The car was brought to brewster, ny subaru (845 278 8300) and the technician claimed it did not show any codes on the computer.i then asked for a drive with the service manager and then he was able to replicate the issue several times. After never having road tested the car until i asked for it they came back with the guess that it was the torque converter.cost to fix aprox. $1770.00.i understand that there was a service bulletin issued on this, but i never received it. I also never received a recall notice. Considering the danger of this fault, i believe there should have been a recall. The car currently has aprox. 88,000 miles. Subaru should be responsible for the repair.

On night of november 8, 2018 vehicle was on the highway going approximately 55 miles per hour when the vehicle suddenly shut down and was unable to restart.vehicle towed to subaru service center who advised "no oil shown on dipstick, drained oil found only about 1/2 quart in engine, oil was contaminated with chunks of metal, added oil and started engine, verified engine had a broken connecting rod and only running on 3 cylinders.vehicle has 115,437 miles on it, oil change stick shows due at 114,109, 1,328 over due for oil change. Right front headlight assembly has water intrusion. Recommend replace engine".the last time the oil was changed was on august 22, 2018 at a subaru service center where the vehicle was maintained on a regular basis.it is evident that the oil burned off due to the same issues in other subaru legacy vehicles therefore causing the broken connecting rod. Nhtsa id #10133527 (power train); nhtsa id# 10140479 (oil seepage); nhtsa id#10037247 (oil seepage on turbo house joints);nhtsa id#10140477 (torque converter); subaru technical bulletins: tsb 16-90-13r, tsb 16-103-16r, tsb 16 102-16 and tsb 16-104-17.owner never received notifications of extensions of warranty on transmission/power train and subaru service dealer never advised owner during any of the maintenance appointments that there was an issue with oil leaks and transmission issues.owner was left in danger on a dark highway just outside of a tunnel, with no lights, no batterypower and state troopers had to be called to protect them until the tow truck arrived.this could have been a tragic event. Will compile all maintenance documents and provide upon request. Thank you.

2010 subaru legacy with approx 105000 milescar stalls when coming to a rapid stop and needs to be put in park to restart.this is very dangerous if it stalls in an intersection. I believe this is consistent with cvt/torque converter issue being described by many others and should be a recall in my opinion.

Car often shudders & stalls when coming to a stop on a city street also will sometime stall when going slow to turn into a parking space.

Torque converter problem:i went to bob baker subaru carlsbad, ca this 12:10pm, 06/04/18.i told the services guy that my engine shut off after step on brakes at low speed.i researched and downloaded the design problem notice from subaru, and he said the need to do more testing on my vehicle.i was waiting until 5pm and he finally told me that was it.i was represented the notice that came from subaru company.why he was still hesitate not to fix immediately after i presented the notice.i believe that they had a lot of customers complaint before??

Vehicle shakes and then stalls when coming to a rapid stop and needs to be put in park to restart. This is very dangerous. I was almost smashed intoon a busy highway . The this has been going on for too long and . It could lead to an even worse accidentthe dealer i bought itfrom will not do anything about it and im still paying on it. Its an as is dealership so he refuses to help

When coming to a stop, the car will sometimes stall.it acts like it would if you had a manual transmission and forgot to press the clutch.it doesn't happen all the time.sometimes it's fine for weeks at a time and then will do it all of a sudden.

When you suddenly brake, the car stalls and engine shuts off.you have to put car in park, and crank the car back on to proceed, which obviously is a safety issue whilst in traffic.this is a known issue according to numerous blogs and websites.this is an issue with a faulty torque converter in subarus.i even went to the dealer which they admitted it is not a recall but a technical advisory, which due to the safety concern it should be a recall.

When coming to an abrupt stop, the engine sputters, stalls and dies. This is due to the torque converter locking up and killing the engine. Sometimes the stop does not have to be abrupt. Subaru needs to make this a recall and pay for the repairs.

2010 subaru legacy ' graycar has rough down shifting as it comes to a stop.it vibrates or clunks like forgetting to push in the clutch if the car had a stick shift. Car stalls periodically.other times the rpms drop and engine seems to recover without stalling. When shifting from reverse to forward of forward to reverse the car chatters and vibrates.this type of chatter has occurred in all situations, but seems to be happen more when he front wheels are turned and the brake is depressed.while backing out of parking space, then turning to go.car has stalled a number of times. Happens when slowing down or changing gear. Frd to rev.all are random occurrences.the problem is getting worse and worse.there are more stalls and getting closer and closer together.this is the second time and for this issue.a repair was done under warranty maybe 18 months ago.i am brining it back to subaru today.this is the same symptoms last time (68k miles) i waited too long and car became not drivable. This is a known issue with cvt transmission in this car and must be recalled.

I purchased this car on 12/21/2010.the mileage is 61,259 and i have owned it for 9 years, 4 months and 28 days. The car is now stalling at traffic lights and while idling. There was a warranty extension for this car in june, 2017 for the continuously variable transmission (cvt).i believe this is the issue - and it is a known issue. Before i contact subaru, i want to know if you are contemplating issuing a recall and not just a warranty extension.

Vehicle stalls or engine dies whenever it comes to a complete stop. It happens all day, cold and hot weather. Driver must switch gear from drive to neutral position in order to prevent stalling. This process should not be done on an automatic transmission. No error codes registers on the dash and vehicle starts right away after it stalls. This is an on going problem for subaru owners base on subaru forums and threads. Please investigate since this could be a faulty part in transmission and could cause injury, accidents and fatality on drivers.

We purchased the car new, december, 2009. Dealer is over an hour drive from home in another state. Car is pampered and kept in garage when not being used. Just in a couple months developed a pronounced thump in the rear under the car. Intermittent, and there is a feel of the car vibrating or shimmying, if very slightly at the same time. We back out of driveway into street turning wheel to left, straighten, drive forward 80 feet to the stop sign. Accelerate and turn to the right, there is a thump from under the rear of the car. Next stop to the right it doesn't do it. Only at the next turn to the left does it make the same thump. We took everything possible that might roll, out of the car, and it still does it. Cannot seem to duplicate at the dealer. The first service we expressed concern, they looked at it and said they tightened a bushing. They have had the car 4 times since for other issues of rattles and noises, a couple recalls for defective hose and wiring and recently blue-tooth failure which we are still going around with them. They replaced sound deadening in the doors because it harmoniously vibrated at the pitch of scraping finger nails on the chalkboard, and give me the deer in the headlight look when i mention the first service and the term, bushing. When i take coworkers out to lunch, they say, what was that noise (thump), so i know i'm not imagining it. My concern is that something in the suspension is shifting back and forth, side to side, and something is going to fail, causing loss of control or death. Makes me afraid to drive car. 14 months of ownership and we only have 8,650 miles on the car, so it's not like we abuse it.

The torque converter is locking up and not releasing, which causes the car to stall at random times. There are times where you may be on a hill and the car stalls. This is very dangerous in atlanta traffic. Subaru of america released a service bulletin to repair the issue at the driver's expense. On 6/21/17 they extended the warranties for the cvt transmission, but that did not cover the torque converter issue. I feel i shouldn't have to pay for the repairs since this is a mechanical fault on subaru's end. What does it take for them to realize that they should be fixing these issues and assume responsibility for this? a car to stall in the middle of an intersection and the driver gets hit?

Vibrations occur when exceeding 50 mph.these vibrations extend to the steering wheel, floor, and driver and passenger seats and increase as speeds becoming enhanced in speeds over 70mph. No accidents and regular dealer service.have had multiple balances, alignments and 2 new sets of tires to no avail.car presently in dealer repair for greater than 8 weeks trying to fix problem.i was informed that the entire front suspension needed to be replaced.

When braking and coming to a stop the car shutters and stalls. In order to avoid it, you must put it into neutral or else it will stall and you will have to restart. This is dangerous and a very essential function of the car and needs to be replaced asap. It does this more frequently when coming to an abrupt stop. There can also be lights that sometimes blink - the cruise control light, brake light flashing, and stability control lights. This has been occurring for many years and i have tried to get it replaced and fixed but it was unknown what would fix this issue exactly so it was just money wasted.

While driving the car, it frequently jolts, makes a screeching noise and it is scary because it also feels as though it may simply turn off.i have contacted the dealership from which i purchased the vehicle and i was informed that subaru is aware of the issue and that they would likely take care of repairing the transmission ($7,000).however, subaru has contacted me with the offer to pay only $2,500 of the total amount of the repair.my major concern is that subaru recalled these (cvt) transmissions, beginning with 2012 models; however, they are aware that the problem also exists in the 2010 outback and legacy, both of which my husband and i own and drive, respectively.

While in motion and coming to stops the vehicle shuttersandshakes and dies. This has been going on for a month. It could lead to a collision from the rear as i have to restart it. Please help!

The contact owns a 2010 subaru legacy. While driving 65 mph, the vehicle made a loud grinding noise while attempting to downshift as well as upshift gears. The contact tried to reverse the vehicle, but it continued to make a grinding noise. Lou fusz subaru of st peters, missouri was made aware of the failure and stated that the vehicle needed a new transmission. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was approximately 89,700.

Problem is with the torque converter similar to bulletin number 16-90-13r issued by subaru involving legacy and outback models from 2010-2012. My car has been stalling when coming to a hard stop. Just had my car to firestone and they diagnosed the problem and referenced the bulletin. They recommend taking to a transmission shop or subaru dealer for repair. As this is a common problem among my car model and year i would have expected to see a recall for this as it is a potentially dangerous condition to stall at lights or stop signs. I believe subaru should be responsible for these repairs.

After 2 re-manufactured transmissions installed the same problem with the cars transmission. The car is stuttering and warning lights are on. The car feels like it's going to turn off while driving. At times the vehicle accelerator jams.i worry about my and my passengers safety.

Car dies when hard stopping.i took it to midas and was diagnosed with torque converter lock up. Took into subaru and was told needs a new transmission.

Stopping vehicle quickly and engine shudders and stalls at any speed.my car has 120k miles and has been doing this since just under 100k miles

The vehicle has an issue where it will stall out when the brakes are applied moderately to firmly. The driver must make a very slow stop to avoid stalling the car. This issue is very dangerous, as if a driver has to panic brake, followed by a sudden acceleration to avoid a rear-end collision (i've personally had to do this a few times), the vehicle will have stalled and can no longer accelerate.i have contacted subaru of america, but because it is outside of their 100k mile "extended transmission warranty" they refuse to do anything. They issued the extended warranty for this exact reason, and to avoid a recall.at this point, i believe the nhtsa should issue a recall, as these cars are very dangerous to the driver and other vehicles on the road.

The contact owns a 2010 subaru legacy. While in reverse and attempting to park, the vehicle rolled down a hill and crashed into an embankment. The brakes had not engaged when applied. The failure was the second occurrence of the brakes not working. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealership but the dealer could not diagnose the failure. The vin was unavailable at the time of the complaint. The current and failure mileages were approximately 2,000.

My 2010 subaru legacy 3.6r has a very noticeable delay when attempting to accelerate the vehicle after a rolling stop. This is very common in everyday traffic, heading towards a red light that turns green, as well as with speed bumps. There is almost a full 2 second delay and the car then thrusts itself when the accelerator actually responds.

2010 subaru legacy 3.6r has a long delay when attempting to accelerate the vehicle after a rolling stop, going over a speed bump, etc.... Very dangerous in everyday driving especially when heading towards a red light that turns green.after the delay, the car lurches forward.have spoken with the dealer and told there is no correction.

The car experiences a 2-3 second intermittent hesitation followed by the car jetting forward. In addition, the vehicle has experienced occasional stalling. It has been taken to the dealership some 22 times for the same issue and upon recreating the problem i was told it is a 'function of the transmission.'the car is unsafe and has nearly resulted in several accidents. It appears that there is some electrical issue rather than the transmission however, the car tends to experience issues generally between 15-20mph, 30-35mph, and 55-60mph.

The contact owns a 2010 subaru legacy. While attempting to start the vehicle, the contact heard an abnormal noise under the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the torque converter needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 10v326000 (power train). The contact stated that the failure was intermittent. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 90,000.

While driving at a rate of speed between 15-35 mph and down-shifting the car shuts off!i lose power-steering and my abs brakes.it has happened while pulling into parking lots and also while going around corners.it seems to occur when the ac is on however i have been told by the dealer (who worked with subaru of america tech line) that it is not an ac problem.my car has been at the dealership for a week and a half.a "reflash" has been sent to the dealers to supposedly correct the problem.soa states my car is now fixed however they refuse to guarantee me 100% that the problem has been corrected but they insist that it is safe to drive.this is a major safety issue and i am concerned for my life and/or the life of another.no accident to date.

The contact owns a 2010 subaru legacy.the head rest tilts to far down, which causes pain to her neck. She is only 5'1" tall. A technician from the dealer stated that the vehiclesdesign meets regulations. The failure and current mileages were 500.updated 2/1/10updated 02/02/10.

My car was sitting overnight and when i started the car the check engine light, stability skid light, brake light, and cruise light are on. I replaced the gas cap and these lights are still on. Cruise and brake lights are flashing while other lights are just on.

Parking brake , electronic parking brake not working has flashing brake light, has this been a recall.

Incident happened yesterday 9am, extreme hot weather. I was parked on a hill- steep parking. Left my sister inside to get a parking ticket to place on my dash board then i came back to put in the dashboard, it was still on parked- my sister went at the back of the car this time and as soon as i removed the keys from ignition it started sliding back and it wouldn't stop- almost running over my sister. I was stepping on the breaks but since the keys are not on the ignition it was not working anymore. Then i placed back the key that stopped the car this time. The door on the driver seat saved us fr further sliding down and running over my sister at the back. It is a safety concern given that it shouldn't be sliding when it's parked. I won't be able to remove my keys when it's not placed on park.

The contact owns a 2010 subaru legacy. The contact stated that the recall notice for nhtsa campaign number: 18v626000 (service brakes) was received in june of 2016. After contacting the manufacturer, the contact was informed that a remedy was not expected until the second quarter of 2019. The local dealer was not notified. The contact had not experienced a failure. Vin tool confirms parts not available.

The brake pipes have been rusted through on my car. The locations is just forward of of the passenger rear tire. Subaru had placed a plastic cover there, but i believe is failed to stop the problem which has plagued their cars since the 90's. I am aware of other recalls for this problem in the subaru line, but current recall stops of 2009 on the legacy. The brakes started losing pressure when i was on my way home from a store a 1/4 mike from home. I was able to get the car home safely.

The contact owns a 2010 subaru legacy. While the vehicle was being operated on a steep incline, the traction control independently engaged and caused the brakes to fail. The failure occurred twice. The dealer and the manufacturer were not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 72,000.

The electronic parking break does not work on my automatic when i park on an incline it just beep's and flashes break on dashboard

Own 2010 subaru legacy . In last month 3times had a problem ;the steering gets stuck engine light goes on ,car comes to automatic stop b/c the engine quits.all these happened when car was in motion at law speed.

The steering sway wobble shimmy at highway speeds is still present. With vdc off it is substantially less sway feeling and steering correction. If you drive straight, you will have to continually correct the steering to overcome to above.about 800 miles i now get a vibration you can feel in the steering wheel. It feels unsafe.other dangerous cvt occurrences are: - in 'd' the car surges occasionally when stopped, like an unintended acceleration surge. Scary, feels like the car is going to take off and feels unsafe.- while driving in cvt manual mode, lets say 2nd gear into a highway exit curve and you let off of the gas pedal, car continues at same speed and rpm!!!!! does not reduce rpm or speed until you hit the brake. Scary if you drive on a straight road and let off of the gas pedal car will reduce rpm and speed. -sometimes if your stopped and go to turn the wheel before you release the brake, engine will raise rpm quite a bit causing surge in power. Scary!

The contact owns a 2010 subaru legacy. While drivingapproximately 60 mph the steering wheel began to violently vibrate and turn to the left and right. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where they decreased the psi on the tires. The failure continued to recur while driving above 60 mph. The vehicle was taken back to the authorized dealer where various repairs were performed. The failure continued to recur. She also stated that while driving at approximately 40 mph she applied pressure to the brake pedal and heard two clicking noises. The vehicle experienced an increased stopping distance and when she released the pressure from the brake pedal she again heard two clicking noises. The vehicle was again taken to the authorized dealer where they were unable to diagnose the failure. It was not repaired. The failures continue to recur. The failure mileage was 824 and the current mileage was 1,894.

Between 60-75 mph there is a strong vibration on the steering wheel. Numerous people have this problem with the legacys and outbacks.

Vehicle unsafe to operate at highway speeds.when driving car does not drive straight, shifting left to right continuously.

2010 subaru legacy - has a vibration in steering wheel and in seat - gone back dealership 2 times already, once for a road force balance didn't work, 2nd time new tires, new steering dampener, suspension shim, wheel alignment and still have a vibration. Now their seems to a little play in steering at high speeds on turns since steering dampener was replaced.. There is a tsb about this issue fix from subaru doesn't seem to work.

Car sways right to left at highway speeds of 55mph or more. Vibration in steering column present at any speed greater than 45mph but worse in 5th and 6th gears of mt. Steering feels unreliable. Car will deviate from intended path. Alignment has been checked, dealer has road force balanced tires and replaced a dampening spring in steering column. No change in either sway or vibration.

Very bad vibration in steering wheel and front end in speeds in excess of 40mph.many other subaru legacy owners are also experiencing this.the wheel shakes and requires numerous and frequent adjustments as it vibrates constantly.this has been ongoing for almost 2 years with no know fix from subaru.

I drove car and parked it. The next day i noticed when turningcorners it was hard to steer, no power steering. It is not that noticeable while rounding slight curves in the road. The power steering fluid level is fine. I parked it in my garage thinking perhaps the extreme cold conditions was a factor. After parked in garage overnight, it initially handled fine, drove 19 miles and parked it. Drove it and it suddenly recurred. Called dealer and has never heard of the problem.

There are very noticeable vibrations on that can be felt through steering wheel, floor, and driver and passenger seats. Vibrations start to appear at the speeds approaching 60 m/hr; they increase exponentially and by 75 miles/hour they border on violent.the aliment and wheel balance were checked and determined not be an issue. The car was never in the accident and was serviced regularly. The dealer failed to determine cause of the problem.

Steering column and seat vibrates at speeds greater than 60 miles/hour.

The contact owns a 2010 subaru legacy. The contact stated that while the vehicle was at an independent mechanic for a state inspection, he was informed that the front sub-frame had rotted. The vehicle was unsafe to drive. The contact was informed that the front sub-frame needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired due to the cost. The local dealer patriot subaru (769 portland rd, saco, me 04072) was notified and advised that the repair cost would be the vehicle owner's responsibility. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and offered a credit towards another vehicle. The failure mileage was 90,000.

While driving our 2010 subaru legacy which we had purchased brand new and has currently 95,000 miles it started making a loud crunching noise coming from the front center wheel area and pulled hard to the left when breaking. We took it to our mechanic and a certified subaru repair shop and they both informed us that it's a totally lost and not worth repairing that the undercarriage is rotted, specifically an issue with the left traverse link area. This is extactly the same issue subaru has had in the past with older models. We called subaru and there are no recalls yet.

Shimmy in steering prevalent at highway speeds, dealer claims to be unaware of any issues in 2010 legacy models.affects highway steering.

Tpms system on subaru 2010 legacy is triggered when tire pressure falls just below placard cold tire pressure. Dealer (lithia subaru, reno) recommends increasing tire pressure to 125% of placard cold tire pressure. Subaru also recommends increasing tire pressure. This leads to many drivers driving with overinflated tires. Subaru needs to lower the pressure at which tpms system indicates low tire pressure to actually low tire pressure. 75-80% of placard cold tire pressure would seem an adequate solution.

Car stalls when slowing down or braking to stop. No error codes or engine light warning. Car starts right after but stalls again frequently. Checked all fluid levels ok. Happens with hot or cold weather.

My sister and i have the same exact car just one year apart and they both stall when coming to a stop even though the car is an automatic. The brake light blinks, the cruise control light blinks and is unable to be used, the traction control light stays on, and the check engine light comes on. It has been like this for several years now and ive tried to troubleshoot many things to fix it, but nothing has worked. The lights stay on constantly making it unable for me to use my cruise control and the car to stall when coming to a stop at any speed. I also know several others with the same model that have had this issue and also see videos of this happening to other people on youtube and them being unsure of the problem to fix it.

Subaru 2010 legacy 3.6 has a dealer- acknowledged severe hesitation inacceleration. The car fails to accelerate when the gas pedal is initially engaged, there is a prolonged hesitation and then the car lurches forward unpredictably. It's particularly severe in a slow rolling situation such as accelerating upon turning at an intersection. The car simple "can't get out of it's own way" in a timely, reliable and predictable fashion.dealer was notified within the week of sale, acknowledged that subaru of america was aware of the problem and promised to do something about it. No remedy appears to be forthcoming (or even known) by subaru of america.

My subaru is equipped with cvt, when fuel is appealed engine revs, pause, then drop in rev and acceleration. This is a safety concern when passing, cornering, or any other point when in a rolling start.

My wife and i had moved from milwaukee to seattle in march 2016.in april, we decided to drive up to the skagit valley 'tulip festival' (north of the city).we took my wife's 2010 subaru legacyit was a decent day, but not warm enough to have the sunroof open.we did have the shade open though and were enjoying the sun filtering in.on the drive up on i-5, we heard what sounded like an explosion above us. My wife kept her composure, but we had to slow down, pull over to the right lane and exit as soon as we could.when we stopped we noticed a hole about the size of a penny appearing in the sunroof above us.there was shattered glass in the cup holders and on the middle console.we couldn't believe what happened - we were driving on the freeway, nothing was above us and we couldn't find a rock or anything in the car.the auto glass repair shop put some cling wrap on the glass and taped it so we could continue our journey and await insurance.turns out our wi insurance was still in affect so we actually (luckily) had it covered under glass replacement.it was a bit of a mess working with insurance, getting the replacement glass, and scheduling the repair work, but we're just thankful we didn't get glass on us or get in an accident due to this.[xxx]seattle wa**thanks so much for raising the awareness on this and helping others.we appreciate it and hope the auto companies or safety boards do something to help prevent this in the future!**information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).
